also i still can't stand hiyoko but also completely understand her feelings towards fuyuhiko because dude is literally the reason her singular best bestie got killed and it's admirable that she got to a point where she could accept him into the group at least until they got off the island, like yes! that's growth!
why do you have to turn around and call mikan pig barf, hiyoko

and another continuation of hajime x antag reader pls? more scenarios of them slowly becoming friends
realized last night that this series has just been the enemies to friends trope and that was a lot to take in
Request for: Hajime Hinata Warnings: self-harm (hair-pulling) like right off the bat, more skin graft stuff but it’s just scars and stitches and they’re barely mentioned ~~~
“God- fuck- dammit…” (Y/n) groaned, tugging at a lock of hair in the midst of her frustration until a hand came to hers, removing it from her hair and settling it at her side.
“Hey, we talked about that,” Hajime stepped forward to inspect the damage of the dropped plate, “Damn, I’ll get the broom. Get some shoes on or something so you don’t get shards in your feet.”
Nodding glumly, (Y/n) moved to get on her shoes and by the time she returned, Hajime was already sweeping up her mess. Her mistake. Because, of course, he was. He was Izuru Kamukura. He was incredible and (Y/n), as she had caught Mikan murmuring to Hajime the other night, was sick. Her world had already fallen into unfamiliarity, but it was nice that Hajime didn’t show any annoyance in how she latched onto him.
That was good, right?
Or maybe he still hated her and just didn’t say anything. That was probably closer to the truth. Who would want to be friends with someone like her? Or more specifically, with her at all?
“Alright, that’s probably good, we should tell the others just in case,” Hajime dumped out the shattered remnants of the plate before clicking the dustpan back into place on the broomstick.
Shaking her head, (Y/n) kept her gaze on her feet, lips pursed, “I’m sorry…”
Hearing those two words from her mouth was new. She’d never really apologized for anything. It was just generally accepted that eventually, she would say it once she felt well enough to do so.
But now, now was not that time. She wasn’t anywhere near ready. Just the other day she almost cried when Fuyuhiko and Sonia saw her trip in the hallway. She still wasn’t used to the idea of people not hating her for making mistakes.
“They hate me… they think they’re better than me…” her ramblings were manic when she made the slightest mistake, “I’m a failure… I’m a failure…”
It hurt to watch her like this. Thinking she was absolute scum for something as simple as stuttering her words.
“It’s alright, it was an accident,” he shook his head, turning her around by the shoulder and walking with her towards the den, “Nobody’s going to hate you for an accident.”
“How can you be sure?”
“I make mistakes all the time, nobody hates me.”
“But you’re Izuru Kamukura, you don’t make mistakes…”
“I’m just Hajime Hinata. A reserve course student.”
~~
“They all hate me…”
“None of them hate you. They forgive you. We all have.”
“I haven’t even apologized yet…”
“You can when you’re ready, which doesn't have to be now if you changed your mind.”
Shaking her head, (Y/n) took Hajime’s hand in hers, shaking from the full force of her nerves, “No… I still want to do it…”
“You’re sure?” he took the doorknob to the kitchen in his hand, “I’ll be right there.”
“I’m sure.”
With no more moments to spare, Hajime pushed the door open and walked in with (Y/n). Her fingers scrambled for the bandage covering her thigh as eyes flitted to her figure briefly, she looked down before clearing her throat to catch her peers’ attention.
Everyone in the room turned to her and Hajime, the boy grinned with a small pat on (Y/n)’s back, “This one wants to say something.”
“I…” her throat went dry and her legs began to shake, “I’m sorry. For everything. I was awful to all of you in the Neoworld Program and I shouldn’t have been. I want to make it up to you all… from the bottom of my heart,” her eyes watered, hot shame and guilt whittling at her heart, “I’m so sorry.”
The first person to step up was Mikan, in an oddly confident manner, she placed her shaky hands on (Y/n)’s shoulders before pulling her into a tight hug. She was cold and smelled like lavender and vanilla. Her voice shyly peeked out in the midst of their embrace, “We don’t hold it against you…”
A dam breaking was quite disastrous.
Letting out all the sorrowed wails you’d ever held back since waking from a technical coma was therapeutic.
She held Mikan as she cried, pulling the nurse closer as Sonia and Ibuki stepped up as well before joining the hug. Hiyoko was the last hold out of the class before stumbling her way into the group hug with fat tears dripping from her reddened cheeks.
Hajime stood off to the side with a smaller, more serene smile on his face. He watched as everyone hugged and he watched as they pulled back. As Nekomaru clapped (Y/n)’s back and lifted her up and onto his shoulders. As Mahiru took pictures of the crowd for memories. As Fuyuhiko and Akane merely nodded along, not wanting to express how deeply they felt for the girl.
More importantly, he watched as (Y/n) grew comfortable in her own skin again. Literally and metaphorically. He was glad she apologized, it was a step in the right direction.
And he knew he’d help her take those steps all over again when Nagito woke up and when they left the island and when they officially joined the Future Foundation.
~~
“Hajime! Hajime!”
“Hmm?”
“Look!”
He lifted his head from the book, eyebrows lifting at the sight before him. He closed the book and placed it to the side before standing and coming in front of the girl, he smiled, “Mikan took the stitches out, huh?”
(Y/n) nodded, gently bringing her fingers over the scarred patches on her face, “Can you notice?”
“Just from the scars,” he shrugged before patting her shoulder, “But I’m certain those will heal up nicely soon. Maybe some scarring but you probably won’t be able to tell anything major happened by the time they’ve healed.”
Her eyes widened, “You think so?”
“I do, you should ask Mikan about it, though,” he moved to sit back down and return to his book, “Have you eaten yet?”
“Yeah.”
“Have you?”
She huffed, turning around towards the kitchen, “Jackass. I’ll be fine without a little breakfast for the day.”
“You’d be complaining in an hour and you know it!”
~~
“I don’t know, man, all I can remember is having to climb over some Bob wire…”
All heads, even those who weren’t originally listening, snapped over to Kazuichi instantaneously after the words flew from his mouth.
“Did…” Hajime narrowed his eyes at the mechanic, “did you just say Bob wire? As in Robert? You think it’s called Robert wire?”
“I mean…” Kazuichi shrugged, “yeah? What else would it be called?”
Scoffing, the brunette put down his glass, “Barb wire.”
“As in- “ (Y/n)’s brows furrowed, “As in Barbara wire?”
“Duh, what else would it be?”
“Barbed!” (Y/n) shouted at the boys, “Barbed wire! It has barbs!”
“Robert wire and Barbara wire,” Fuyuhiko mumbled, taking a sip of his coffee, “Fucking idiots.”
“Oh my God,” Hajime put his head in his hands, embarrassment washing over his body, “I can’t believe I just said Barbara wire.”
“To be fair, you also didn’t know what an octagon was…”
“I remember, (Y/n)!”
He also remembered a time where this conversation wouldn’t have been possible - and he’s glad that time no longer exists.
He’s glad (Y/n), Ultimate Copycat - Remnant of Despair - Junko’s Puppet, became his friend.

birthdays, what intricate things, no? | fuyuhiko kuzuryu x peko pekoyama
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here’s another drabble/fic i’ve worked on, lmao here. tw: mentions of blood, sword, mentions of death, angst
Tumblr media
“Happy Birthday!”
It was Kuzuryu’s birthday, a special day for sure. After all, the young looking but bold yakuza was turning 23.
Everyone had celebrated with him, throwing a huge party at a nightclub. Party decorations were hung up everywhere, laser lights were dancing across the room, and the past contestants of the second (and hopefully last) killing game had fun, letting go of all of their worries.
Owari and Nidai were dancing together and bumping into everyone laughing loudly. Mioda was performing “I Squeezed Out The Baby And I Don’t Know Who The Father Is.” Saionji and Koizumi were hyping Mioda up while Tsumiki looked uncomfortable but tried to smile with the loud music. Tanaka and Soda were glaring at each other across the room while Nevermind was dancing to Mioda’s singing. Togami was at the corner of the room watching everyone while Hanamura was serving food out to the crowd of adults. Hinata, Komaeda and Nanami were talking with each other.
While Kuzuryu pretended on the outside as if he didn’t care, he really did. After the killing game, he has softened up to his classmates, occasionally letting his guard down.
He had nightmares about the game, although he looked like he didn’t care about the killings - he actually did. Yakuza dealt with gangs and mobs all the time, he was taught this very early on in his life. Whereas it was a yakuza’s duty to be on guard and kill when needed, he was in shock about the game.
Forcing literal children in a killing game? Kuzuryu had killed before, he had a lot of blood on his hands. But he never remorsed about it, afterall it was his duty as a yakuza.
Shaking away his depressing and remorseful thoughts, he looked over to the love of his life, Peko Pekoyama.
Peko was always there for him, always. She refers to herself as a “tool”, but Kuzuryu thought her more than that. Sure, he had grown up with Peko and she was always there like a knight in shining armour in case he got hurt but, in reality - he never wanted that.
He had only wanted her.
Looking at the ground, he slyly took Pekoyama’s hand, a blush forming on his cheeks. Pekoyama turned around from watching Mioda sing and smiled at his antics. She took her other hand and put it on top of his, giving it a firm grip.
Kuzuryu slowly looked up at Pekoyama, locking eyes with her. She was stunning, as always. Her silver hair flowing on her shoulders (for once), her black and white checkered patterned kimono clashing with her light grey coat with her bamboo sword. And most of all - her bright, red eyes.
People were intimidated by Pekoyama at first glance, despite her cute name. But when you’ve known her for literally your whole life - you’d know better than that.
She’s sad that because of her fierce appearance and sword, she can’t pet fluffy animals. She doesn’t like senseless killing, even if she is the ultimate swordswoman. And lastly, she doesn’t know how to smile, after years of not smiling.
Kuzuryu and Hinata had tried to help her smile, it lasted a week. Pekoyama struggled while Hinata and Kuzuryu were her cheerleaders, hyping her up every step of the way. And when Pekoyama finally got her smile right, Kuzuryu’s heart stopped. It was the cutest smile he’d seen, especially coming from the woman you’d sell your soul to.
Coming out of his haze, Kuzuryu had tears forming in his eyes.
“I love you, Peko.”
Pekoyama smiled, tears forming at the ends of her eyes,
“I love you too, Fuyu.”
- - -
After a while, it was time to cut the cake. Everyone gathered at a circle table in the middle of the bar, excited.
“Woohoo! Baby gangsta turning 23 today! Can you believe it?” Owari yelled.
“Hey! I told you not to call me that anymore..” scowled Kuzuryu.
“I’m sure she means only good, Fuyu.” Pekoyama reassured.
Kuzuryu sighed, smiling up at Peko. He always melted when she used that nickname.
“Can we cut the cake yet? I’m starving.” Owari complained, getting nods of agreement from the other ex-students.
Kuzuryu stopped and then chuckled a bit, enough so that only Pekoyama could hear. He loves the fact that no one had changed, due to all of them going through so much together.
“Alright! Time to cut cake everyone!” Nanami smiled.
“Hey, why don’t you and Peko cut it together? Koizumi suggested.
Pekoyama looked over at Kuzuryu, smiling. “Shall we?”
Pekoyama unsheathed her sword, holding it and offering Kuzuryu to hold it as well.
“It’s your 23rd birthday, we must make it memorable.”
Kuzuryu silently agreed and took the sword with Pekoyama, getting closer to the cake.
Together, they slice the cake with Pekoyama’s sword.
But Kuzuryu paused. The cake was hard to slice, why? A cake should be made with flour, sugar, milk and eggs right? Why should it be hard?
“Hey why the pause? I’ve been waiting for this moment!” Souda said, clearly impatient.
Kuzuryu shook it off and continued to slice it, until it made a certain sound.
Squish
A cake shouldn’t make that sound either, what was happening?
Komaeda appeared beside his side, which Kuzuryu was confused about since he was sure he saw Komaeda across the table.
“Fuyuhiko, look at Peko.”
Chills running through his spine, he turned around to see Peko.
Pekoyama was there, hunched back, as the very bamboo sword she held cut through her stomach, blood flowing everywhere.
“Fuyu..? What did you… do?”
Kuzuryu stood in shock, not knowing what to do, he did the very best thing that came at the top of his mind.
He screamed.
- - -
Kuzuryu woke up, startled from his dream.
It was 4 a.m, August 17th, a day after his birthday.
Kuzuryu sweatdropped, then getting up from his bed and going to his kitchen, hoping to make a coffee in peace.
And there his roommates were, Tanaka, Soda and Hinata, drinking coffee while talking together.
Kuzuryu sighed, and went further into the kitchen to make his own coffee.
“Hey Fuyuhiko, what’s wrong?” Hinata questioned.
“Agreed, what is pestering your mind?” Tanaka said shortly after.
“It’s.. It’s nothing, go back to whatever you guys were doing.” Fuyukiho said, obviously tired.
“Eh, you heard the guy,” said a nonchalant Soda.
Hinata and Tanaka both glared at him and focused their attention on Kuzuryu.
“No seriously, what's wrong.” Hinata questioned again, but with more of a firm tone.
Kuzuryu ignored him and made his coffee, pretending as if he didn’t have time for them.
Tanaka appeared at his side, a hand on his shoulder, “You do know, that you can confide in us, yes?
Kuzuryu sighed annoyedly, “It’s not that big of a deal! Just leave me alone.”
The room went silent.
“You’ve had a nightmare again, haven’t you?” Hinata asked.
Kuzuryu went silent to that, glancing at Hinata, he nodded slightly.
The other three didn’t know what to do but give him space, so they let Kuzuryu finish making his coffee and watched as he headed towards his room, slamming the door.
Kuzuryu sat down on the side of his bed, sipping his coffee.
He didn’t know what to do at this point of life.
He was the Ultimate Yakuza, sure. But he had nothing to do anymore. He had graduated from Hope's Peak and now lived in an apartment with some of his ex-classmates.
The entirety of his life was dedicated to his yakuza duties. And now it’s gone. He only had memories of what his life had been of the past, all of which had Peko.
The mere thought of Peko brought tears to his eyes. He hadn’t - no couldn’t accept she was going to die, and had sobbed his heart out in front of everyone, not caring.
Peko was his life, his world. He had never wanted her to think she was just a tool for his benefit. He had never thought of her that way. She was a human being, just like him.
Kuzuryu started to sob quietly, remorsing Peko for what felt like the thousandth time.
“I-I miss you so m-much.. Peko..” Kuzuryu hiccuped. “w-why’d you have t-to leave me so e.. early..?”
Maybe it was a blessing just to have spoken to Peko.
Maybe it was a curse, he’ll never know.
Kuzuryu sobbed in what felt like an eternity, slowly falling back to sleep - and eventually, he met his lover again.

Danganronpa shorts: Luck in a mansion
It was a rather cloudy day when Kazuichi had an idea. A rather strange and disastrous idea, if I, Hajime Hinata, were being honest.
"So, let's go to this mansion! I heard it was scientifically interesting!"
Kazuichi Soda was a rather cowardly man and his defining characteristic was crushing over a woman (and making her uncomfortable with his advances) who would never return his feelings. He was truly hopeless in that regard and prone to fits of jealousy towards anyone who got close to her.
However, he had another side to him. He was also the Ultimate Mechanic and had been accepted by Hope's Peak for that reason. Thus, whenever he came upon a machine, his first instinct was to attempt to open it up and see how it worked. I suppose his fascination with machines in this manner is somewhat similar to Nagito's fascination with hope.
Speaking of which—
"What a hopeful idea, Kazuichi! I am sure the scientific mysteries of the mansion would give rise to hope when solved by someone as great as you!" Nagito Komaeda said, a little starry eyed. Well, that wasn't unexpected since he appeared to try and find hope....virtually everywhere.
However, it was an unspoken thing in our class that we are likelier to be less confident in things after Nagito's over blown praises than more confident unless it benefited the person being praised.
Now, it benefitted Kazuichi.
"Yeah, we all might find something for ourselves too!!! Besides it would be a fun outing!!!"
"Your hope for this outing is so beautiful, Kazuichi, I am sure it will turn out as the Ultimate Outing!" Nagito went on, ecstatic.
"Errr, yeah," Kazuichi looked mildly uncomfortable at that and I swallowed a retort of, "A taste of your own medicine, huh?" and instead said,
"Well, happy outing, you too, then."
"Wait no, you are coming with us as well," Kazuichi said, "No way in hell am I going with this weirdo alone."
I wonder what made him think that I wanted to go alone with two weirdos who were drunk on their respective obsessions. Atleast Kazuichi was less likelier to murder people due to said obsession but still.
"So Hajime is in," Kazuichi said, not waiting for my answer.
"Wait, I never said—"
"—however it appears that you need four people according to the ticket, Kazuichi, so it appears that you need to invite another person," Nagito said, completely ignoring me and looking over the paper Kazuichi was clutching in his hand.
"I do, yes," Kazuichi said, "Miss Sonia would you—"
She pretended as if he did not exist.
Downtrodden Kazuichi went on, "I can kick out Nagito if you want—"
Still no response.
Utterly crushed, Kazuichi turned back to us.
"So.....," his enthusiasm was noticeably less than before, "I...."
"Don't give up hope, Kazuichi! I am sure something would turn up for you at the mansion!"
This caused me to feel like Nagito just wanted to go to that super mysterious mansion. Well, I suppose my own curiosity had been spiked as well due to the ambiguous way Kazuichi framed it.
"You think?" Kazuichi said, looking slightly more hopeful.
"Absolutely! There's hope in that mansion!"
Slightly uncomfortable, Kazuichi scratched his neck.
"Well, I suppose I can't turn this down......but we need another person."
He looked around the place and I sent a silent prayer to the unfortunate person who would grab his eye.
"Hey, Fuyuhiko—!"
Now I felt sorry for Kazuichi.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu was the Ultimate Yakuza and rather foul mouthed and brash despite his small stature. He was also the last person who would get dragged into such a thing.
Or so had I thought, woefully underestimating Kazuichi's persuasion skills.
"What is it?" Fuyuhiko snapped, "What do you want?"
"Hey, want to go with us to this mansion?" Kazuichi said, walking over and sitting down in front of him with a wide shark like grin.
"...who's us?" Fuyuhiko said.
"Hajime, me and Nagito."
"....I am not going."
"Why, do you want to make out with Peko or something?"
"No, what the fuck."
"Come on, please, we just need another member and you are perfect for that."
"I said I am not going—"
Kazuichi proceeded to whine and annoy the living hell out of Fuyuhiko for the next one hour, causing him to give in. Evidently, his dedication to machines was more than his personal pride.
~
A day later, we were all standing in front of the mansion.
The weather was still cloudy. The weather forecast hadn't informed us about any rain, but considering that Nagito was tagging along.....well anything was possible. Already he was sporting bandaged arms when he had arrived today and seemed apprehensive to go with us. However Kazuichi had dragged him along anyways, with a, "No backsies."
I had asked him about the bandaged arms and his reply had been,
"Ahaha, it's the bad luck for the good luck that an Ultimate would invite such a worthless person like me........all I would do is bring along bad luck, however I am sure the Ultimates can overcome that."
If just going on a fun trip punished him in this manner, I suppose I can see why he is the way he is. In a way. I don't think I will ever come close to understanding Nagito Komaeda.
"So, we are staying here for a week, okay?" Kazuichi said, bringing out the keys. They were huge and fit for such an ancient mansion like this.
He unlocked the door. We pushed it together, causing it to swing back with a groan.
Silence.
That was the first thing I noted about this place. How absolutely silent it was.
The next thing I noticed was how dark it was.
Fuyuhiko took out a lighter to light the torches, looking creeped out himself.
"Oi, Kazuichi, I thought this was a scientific mystery, not a test of courage in a haunted house," he said, grumbling.
"...a scientific mystery is what they called it," Kazuichi said, looking confused himself.
"Ah, I am sure we can use science to investigate a paranormal mystery! If it can be solved using science, then it makes it a scientific mystery!" Nagito pointed out.
"I suppose so."
"I still have a bad feeling about this place.....," I muttered, going to help Fuyuhiko with the lights, "Besides, do we have a map?"
"Right in front of you, Hajime," Nagito chirped and I turned around to see that indeed, there was a map right in front of me.
"It looks like your hidden Talent could be Ultimate Map Summoner," he joked next, going to check the map in question.
"Lay off that already."
I might have forgotten my Ultimate Talent but that didn't give him the permission to rub it into my face at every turn.
Kazuichi used the light of the torches to check the keys.
"The numbers inscribed on the keys correspond to that on the map," Nagito spoke. This guy had some seriously good skills of observation. For a brief moment, I wondered why he isn't the Ultimate Detective instead.
"I see," Kazuichi went to check the map as well and began matching the keys to the map, "The map is incomplete....it looks too small for such a huge place.....wait, it's burnt off at the end."
"....ah."
Having finished lighting the torches, Fuyuhiko and I went to check the map in question as well. To allow Fuyuhiko to see it, Nagito moved back.
"Well, I am sure Ultimates such as yourselves would be able to figure out the rest of the map."
"Dude, we none of us are the Ultimate Mansion Map Imaginer over here," Kazuichi said, rolling his eyes.
Nagito looked at me.
"Definitely not," I said, "The map is extremely weird."
"I wonder which dumbass thought it would be a great idea to burn this map off," Fuyuhiko grumbled, "This better not be a prank Kazuichi."
"Why don't the lot of you believe me," Kazuichi spoke, "I saw this place at the same time as you all did. I originally got the ticket from my uncle who asked me to visit this place with three other people."
"Highly suspicious uncle, I see," Fuyuhiko said, "Well it would be the best to explore what areas we can explore and keep our stuff in the bedrooms."
"There are two bedrooms," I said squinting at the map, "Or that's what I can get from this map anyways."
"Well then we have to share it!" Kazuichi said, most cheerfully.
".....what," the rest of us chorused.
None of us had ever heard such a suggestion before.
".....share one bedroom between us, isn't that the most obvious conclusion?" Kazuichi tried again.
"I am too worthless to—," Nagito started up.
"We aren't that chummy—," Fuyuhiko spoke up.
"...sounds rather embarassing," I said.
Faced with our combined refusal, Kazuichi took a step back in exasperation.
"Then do you all geniuses have a better idea????"
"Yes," Fuyuhiko spoke before any of us could, "Explore the mansion and find atleast two more bedrooms."
".......you guys are so dedicated to being tsundere that it's honestly really sad," Kazuichi said, checking the keys again.
"Hey, what was that for—," I started.
"How fucking dare you," Fuyuhiko growled.
".....Uh, since none of us want to share rooms, I suppose we should split up and search? After all, it would be troublesome if we got lost," Nagito said, trying to quell us. It worked, apparently since Kazuichi nodded appreciatively.
"Nagito and Hajime can go together," he said, giving half the keys to me, "And Fuyuhiko can come with me."
Suffice to say, neither Fuyuhiko nor I were too happy about our respective partners, however we chose not to argue.
Kazuichi pushed open the door to the entrance hall which had electric lights on for some reason.
"Let's go."
~~~~~~
"It would be rather interesting if your hidden Talent could come into play here," Nagito said while we searched the kitchen. It was, shockingly enough, filled with modern amenities, which caused me to wonder what the hell was up with the first corridor. It was probably for show, though. And Nagito was still hung over my Talent since we started walking together, making me wish I had brought a duct tape to seal his mouth with.
"I don't see why you are so obsessed with my Talent," I said, searching the microwave. It had a single roasted chicken. It looked rather appetizing.
"What, don't you want to know what Talent got you into Hope's Peak? Maybe your hidden Talent is Ultimate Amnesia for all we know...."
"That's a mental disorder, not something to excel at," I grumbled, taking the chicken out.
"Hm...?" Nagito appeared to have caught smell of the roasted chicken and came over, ".......how odd."
"Well—," my sentence remained incomplete as a light came out of the open microwave and sucked Nagito to God knows where like something out of a sci fi movie.
The chicken dropped from my hand in shock.
"NAGITO?????"
~~~~~~
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu with anyone who wasn't Peko Pekoyama happened to make a rather caustic pair.
Especially right now, when he was searching a bedroom that resembled that of a hospital with Kazuichi Souda. Kazuichi had been needling him on tips to get a girl (Sonia Nevermind, the Ultimate Princess) to like him, because apparently he was supposed to be an expert on that somehow since he had Peko. He tried to explain that they had just been raised from birth and that they were best friends for that reason. Kazuichi looked downtrodden at that, prompting him to ask whether he had brought him along just to question that.
"Well," he said rather shamelessly, "I can't ask Hajime or Nagito for that, can I?"
Fuyuhiko felt the beginnings of a severe migraine in his head.
He would have to use all his patience in the following week to not murder this guy on spot.
"GUYS—," a rather shrill voice rang out, causing the both of them to jump and bump their heads against one another.
Hajime had come and he was looking extremely frightened and entirely out of his element. Hajime was someone who was extremely likely to faint at shocking events and tended to react strongly to abnormal things, so it was not a shock to see him freaked out. However, what was a shock was the absence of the cotton candy haired guy running after him in attempts of placating him.
Which led Fuyuhiko to assume that the reason was definitely Nagito.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Nagito got sucked inside a microwave and disappeared," Hajime said, panting.
".....pardon the fuck?"
".....This must be the scientific mystery they talked about in the brochure," Kazuichi said, eyes wide in excitement and slight fear, "Nagito's luck caused him to find it."
~~
It was a bland tasteless white room, whiter than even his own hair. Equipment was scattered around on the metal tables. Cupboards overflowed with bundles of paper and files. There was a projector at the far corner of the room.
Nagito Komaeda groggily rubbed at his face with his hands.
Ultimate Luck was truly something.
He turned his throbbing head around to check behind him. There was a gramaphone's trumpet there, sitting innocently. However, he was perfectly aware of exactly how innocent it was.
He looked at the room again. It was huge and there were no doors nor windows. It was, to say, an entirely sealed room apart from the gramaphone record that he assumed served as the pathway from the kitchen's microwave to this room.
He closed his eyes and exhaled.

Yo Hajime talk abt ur kin mems
since there were no specifications on which ones i am going to start from the beginning and go where my brain takes me from there. they're all gonna be for hajime bc i physically cannot think about my other memories anymore jsyk
also! this ended up being so long i had to put a cut. i will not be apologizing because i feel no remorse.
so first the basic stuff, i remember having a med skin tone and a FUCK ton of freckles like those motherfuckers were everywhere i had skin. also i was 5'7 i think?? or 5'6. i still can't remember exactly but it's something like that. i was also alloaro, some form of mlm, unfortunately cis, and autistic and probably had some other stuff like adhd or depression or whatever but i forgot. also i was kinda muscle-y but also chubby at the same time. and i had light green eyes. basically i was fanon hajime JSJSKDJDKS
and i was going over the wiki recently and my personality was EXACTLY how they described it like i'm genuinely surprised they got it so accurate
i don't remember much pre-game and post game, most of my memories are in game but i do remember pre game chiaki really well, honestly i rly miss her :( she would always reassure me that i didn't need a talent and i never even cared when she beat me in games cus just simply playing them with her was so fun .,.,,;:,,...,,!:&:&:jsjdjskskck</3
anyways. in game. ok. i'm gonna skip over memories where i just know feelings and not specific things like strong feelings or ppl saying stuff or else this would be so long. also obvious sdr2 spoilers
so i remember the party & blackout in the beginning of the game pretty clearly. i was mostly just standing alone in the corner and watching everyone have fun, but it was really freeing to see the others able to enjoy themselves in such pressing circumstances. then the blackout-- it was kinda like all that happiness going away and the dread and denial immediately setting in .
anyways i remember like panicking and wanting to cry when i lifted the table cloth cus i really liked twogami. i'm p sure i did end up crying cus i really liked them for their realism and leadership skills, and the realization that one of us killed them and that the killing game was actually real etc etc
anyway i don't remember much from the investigation or trial besides being really freaked out when nagito basically admitted to being the killer n stuff, and pretty much all the body discoveries after that (besides ch 5) we're just like "ah shit here we go again" but i do remember mikans trial really freaking me out when she just straight up shifted completely, and i also remember being really proud of fuyuhiko for putting his walls down a bit and deciding to help everyone out while the despair disease was going around
anyway enough of the boring stuff, i spent basically all my free time with komaeda, chiaki and mikan (in order of frequency) and with mikan i mostly listened to her talk about medical stuff and i comforted her when she needed to vent, but i didn't hang out with her much because the constant apologizing n stuff started to bother me since i really liked seeing her happy. chiaki i would mostly play games with and we wouldn't talk much, but she gave me a really strong sense of familiarity like when we played games together it gave me a shit ton of deja vu
AND i've already talked a lot about komaeda but idc i'm doing it again. so we started talking cus of him waking me up on the beach obvs and i was pretty attached right off the bat, but i stopped talking to him for awhile because the way he acted in the first trial REALLY scared me so i just got a pit in my stomach even being around him
but he was the one who started approaching me first, i'm guessing since he couldn't rly sense anything was wrong he just kinda picked things up where they left off and started talking w me at breakfast n stuff and it was pretty weird at first, but i wanted to give him a chance and didn't wanna be rude so i accepted offers to hang out in his cottage n stuff
i remember he has surgery scars tho and i'm rly mad ppl don't draw him with any!! i think he had about 5 and i don't remember all of them but i know one was a skin graft on his leg and the one on his side/stomach that i touched wassssss for appendix removal maybe???? mmmm i'm not too sure about that one tho
also !!!! his death. hoooooly shit. ok so yunno the despair that junko always talks about ?????? yeah <3!! i remember like once i saw his body and took the reality in i just. straight up could NOT stand i like fell to my knees and jsut . cried. like i had no thoughts my head was so full that it was empty i just kinda sat there and silent cried while chiaki stood next to me it was so awful dude
later while investigating n stuff i felt really bad ab how i treated him and thought about him, and i thought a lot about our last interaction. it was the first time i had ever approached him myself cus usually he'd come to me. i was gonna hang out with chiaki but i wanted to check up on him first, so i did and he told me to go hang out with the others and i just. knew something terrible was about to happen.
OH AND THE FUNHOUSE OMG ok i literally. i usually didn't mind being around komaeda like he was chill most of the time when he wasn't ranting about hope but when he was acting like such a bitch in the funhouse i wanted to punch his stupid twink ass so bad like...... what BUSINESS does this dude have being such an asshole. he doesn't even know what face wash is. what the fuck. which is another fun fact! komaeda did shower every so often which is why he didn't smell that bad but his skin was always so dry cus he didn't know how to actually wash right and do proper skincare so he just washed his face w soap and left it like that
also he didn't need to cut his nails cus they were so brittle they would just break off on their own <3 plus he had a nail biting habit so they just never grew ever
OH AND THIS IS THE SADDEST THING i remember feeling so bad for this man bc i would like put my hand on his shoulder and he would lean into it. i mean i'd tap his shoulder for a SECOND and girl when i let go hed be lowkey so sad i could just sense it like??????dude he needed a hug SSO BAD like when i hugged him in my cuddling memory he was like holding on for dear life but also was like "u dOnT hAvE tO tOuCh TrAsH LiKe mE hAjImE" like dude it was the saddest shit. i want to hug him forever. like what the fuck what the fuck!!!!!!!!!
also a thing hed do when he started ranting ab hope n shit like he would just go on and on and yunno that one sprite where he's hugging himself yeah he literally did that shit. also sometimes hed just stare dead at me and start backing me into a corner ((ish-- we were usually sitting somewhere but he mostly just got super close to me) and it was the scariest shit i. bro if i saw him like that on the streets i'd return him to the mental hospital like i can remember it somewhat vividly and that shit was TERRIFYING i mean obvs after i shoved him away and told him to cool it he'd apologize and go back to the way he was but jeez dude ....
also a little fun fact the only reason i really kept hanging out with him (i had a few ofc but this was the most prominent) is cus he was hot in my stupid monkey brain. yes that's it. like that's literally pretty much it. i hate admitting it but this post is SO fucking long i doubt anyone's gonna read it anyway so i'm admitting it now lol
anyway i hope u enjoyed :) i'm glad u asked btw! i'm sure you regret it though!

Peko Pekoyama x female reader fluff one-shot
Request: Heya, is it alright if I request Peko with a female, ultimate Zoologist reader who brings her to play with all the cute fluffy animals and helps them warm up to her? She deserves happiness
Coming right up! And yes!!! Peko does deserve happiness, gotta love her!
- Mod Kokichi
It had taken you forever...and I mean forever, to even get Peko’s attention. She was a very introverted person. She was diligent and dedicated to her job, which you knew about, much to her surprise. That was one of the things that actually piqued her interest in you in the first place. Peko didn’t want or have the opportunity to interact with people much in the first place, much less stupid ones, so when you quickly discovered she was Fuyuhiko’s eyes, ears, and protector, she was quite impressed, not that she’d let you know that last bit. She had, though, asked you how you found out as she walked back to her dorm one day after class, you trailing behind like a lovesick puppy.
“Oh, well my eyes are always on you, how could I miss it?” You let slip and immediately covered your mouth with your hand, cheeks heating in embarrassment. Peko paused her swift walk, and felt her heart skip in what she assumed was a reaction to this awkward confession, a crooked grin on her face. You both stared at each other, before she resumed, a bit faster than before, adjusting the sword on her back and leaving you behind.
“I have to go now, I have practice soon,” she spoke flatly, and you watched her as she left, scanning that athletic form and the swish of her uniform’s skirt as she left. Gosh...she was something.
In the coming weeks, you often met her as soon as she left each class, the automated bell tone chiming to signal the period was over. Anyone else would’ve been startled, but not someone as poised and disciplined as her.
“Peko!” You jumped off the wall you’d been leaning on silently for the past five minutes a little too excitedly. She stilled, Fuyuhiko gliding past her, looking at you both and scoffing lightly before walking down the hall to his next class.
“Y/N...again.” Her eyes narrowed. “Why aren’t you in class, don’t you have Civic Engagement this period?” Your eyes widened, and you smiled blissfully. How did she know that? You hadn’t told her...maybe she was paying attention to you, too? Maybe she liked you back? Maybe...no you shouldn’t assume things. You took a deep breath.
“I was wondering if you’d have lunch with me? I know you always have it with Fuyuhiko, b-but...uh…” She gave you an apathetic and absent look, shuffling her books to her other hand. “Nevermind. I can ask another time, I mean if you-“
     “Alright.”
“W-what? Really? Well that’s...I didn’t think….okay, awesome!” You smiled widely, your feet dancing around wildly. She huffed, eyes closing in a small smile. You were kind of cute, she had to admit, so childlike and easily excitable, but she didn’t see why you were even interested in her. She didn’t do anything attractive to lure someone into a crush. She went to class, followed Fuyuhiko around, studied quietly, went to dueling practice at the school’s dojo, then went to bed. You hadn’t even seen her run any missions or small jobs for Fuyuhiko, so how could anything about her possibly catch your eye? She didn’t dress in any special way. She was a pasty girl with glasses. She didn’t feel insecure or self conscious about these facts, it was normal to her and shallow things like looks and attraction meant nothing, but she found your behavior unusual.
“Yes, I just have to ask my Young Master if he will allow my absence for lunch, or if he needs me.” She spoke freely, knowing you already were keen to her bodyguard role, and with no one else close by, “I know where you usually sit at lunch, I’ll be there if I’m allowed. If I’m not there a after a few minutes, assume I couldn’t make it.” With that, she walked swiftly away, not waiting for a response.
Oh wow...she was just...you swooned, walking to your locker.
When she approached Fuyuhiko in the stairwell minutes later to ask for permission, he just shook his head, sighing.
“Tch...how many times do I have to tell you? When school is in session, our professional relationship does not exist. Do what you want. You’re making it obvious! She knows, doesn’t she...Y/N?”
“Young Master, I apologize. I didn’t intend for anyone to find ou-“
“Stop calling me that!” He leaned his head down over the railing, making sure no one heard in the echoing environment of the stairwell. “Just go, have lunch with her, I’ll see you in last period anyway!” He huffed, taking a step down to make his exit.
“But Young M- ...Fuyuhiko, I should-“
“She likes you, yes?” She was caught off guard, a rare occurrence for her.
“That is irrelevant to the issue.”
“Ha...I knew it. Just go eat with her. I have work piling up so I’m skipping lunch to get that shit done, plus, sometimes she eats lunch with that other animal freak, Gundham, and I can’t stand being around him for more than five minutes once he starts going off about his demonic shit!” He gestured with his hands before descending the stairs.
Peko stood there for a second, thinking. Animal freak, huh? Oh yeah...she remembered your ultimate talent, the Ultimate Zoologist. That was another thing about you she admired, loving animals herself despite never being around them. She shook off her thoughts, mechanically turning and reporting to lunch with you. You’d be waiting, eagerly, she was betting.
~
You sat on one of the outside tables adjacent to Hope’s Peak Academy’s lunch room, full length glass windows providing a barrier to look from the cafeteria out into the courtyard dining area. You always sat outside unless it was raining, looking at the birds that flew in and ducks that took up residence in the one small pond in the courtyard. You sighed, unpacking your lunch and started to munch quietly. There’s no way she was coming, right? She’s always busy, and fiercely loyal to the Kuzuryu’s. You had to accept that, you told yourself, you had to just admit you had no chance of this acquaintanceship becoming more and-
You did a double take while looking around anxiously, and no, your eyes did not fool you. There was Peko, walking swiftly to the door to the courtyard, pushing it open with one hand, and looking to you, a tray of food in her hand.
“Peko!” Your smile was from ear to ear instantly. “You came! I saved you a spot!” You tapped on the bench beside to you. She approached, setting her tray down on your table.
“Looks like you saved all of the spots. Why are you eating alone? Isn’t Gundham usually here?” You paused before answering, yet again taken aback. How did she know that? For someone so aloof, who dodged nearly all of your advances, she sure knew a lot about you. You saw her crimson eyes looking at you expectantly, awaiting a response.
“Uh...yeah, but, he’s got cleaning duty in the room the animal handling club meets in. You know, scrubbing cages, picking up droppings.” You mimed a scrubbing action with your hands, before setting them back at your side, your fingertips brushing her hip accidentally before pulling back, nervously looking up at her. She blushed, looking away like that didn’t just happen.
“Yes, I know of that classroom. I’ve looked inside once, momentarily,” she spoke a little too hastily, evidently embarrassed. “Oh, that’s right, your talent is Zoology,” she spoke, pretending she just now recalled this off the top of her head and hadn’t thought about it in length before in her dorm, “You must be in that room a lot then.” There she goes again, bringing up something you didn’t tell her or mentioned in passing when you were sure she was blocking you out. You were starting to think...maybe she wasn’t so indifferent about you.
“Yeah...I’m there most of the day, since the academy wants us to focus on our talents above all else. But, yeah,” you fiddled with the hem of your skirt, “I’m no warrior like you, but I sure can tell you 191 facts on rabbits or the mating patterns of random pack animals!” You chuckled softly.
“Lucky you, all the animals I try to interact with hate me. Gundham’ s hamsters cower into his scarf when I pass him, Young Master’s sister has a little dog that growls when I even look at it,” her hands tightened into fists at her side. Was that jealousy you were detecting in her voice? It didn’t matter. To you, any emotion from her was better than the apathy she usually spoke with. She looked to you, realizing how intensely and easily she had admitted that fact. She usually didn’t talk about herself, and she usually didn’t want to. You caught on to her uneasiness, empathetically feeling her tug at your heart. She picked up the fork on her tray, digging into some kind of portion of a pasta dish sectioned off.
“Really? I wonder why that is. What kind of animals do you enjoy the most?”
“I suppose the cuter ones. Reptiles and fish are okay, there’s a koi pound at the Kuzuryu mansion that I look at sometimes, but I prefer ones with fur...small ones. Or, rather...I supposed as long as they are fluffy it’s okay. I just want to pinch their little cheeks and scratch their ears, but… I guess they just find me too intimidating...” she trailed off, opening her water bottle and downing a gulp.
“What? Peko I don’t think you’re intimidating at all! I mean, I suppose having to fight you or getting on your bad side would be, but just as a person, I think you’re strong and confident and a badass and attractive, but not...scary.” You spoke incredulously.
“Attractive?” She spoke, barely above a whisper.
“Yeah, sure!” You quickly changed the subject, “I didn’t know you even liked animals, Peko. You should’ve told me a while ago, I can sneak anyone into the animal handling room, even non-club members,” you smiled softly.
“I...I don’t have time for that, and I would just stress out every animal in there. It’s better if I don’t.”
“Peko,” you placed a hand on hers, resting on the table, “I know you’re busy but...lunch still has quite a while to go before the bell, and I’m not too hungry. Let’s go now, and you can be done and back at Fuyuhiko’s side before you know it!” She quickly pulled her hand away, grabbing her phone in her pocket.
“I really can’t, I have commitments, and what if it takes longer than you thought?”
“Can...can you at least ask Fuyuhiko? Like text him or call or-“ you looked so dejected, she almost felt...sad for you. She wanted to go with you, she really did, but her wants didn’t matter. A tool of clan Kuzuryu is bound to an unbreakable oath. She couldn’t just flake on her duties. She sighed. Taking out her phone to text Fuyuhiko. Upon raising it up in front of her, a notification came in immediately, filling the top of her screen with a message bubble.
[Young Master - 12:17pm: You better not. I’m ordering you to stay away from me until tomorrow.]
Peko’s eyes widened, looking around at her surroundings. There’s no way Fuyuhiko could be close enough to hear the conversation without her sensing his presence or seeing him. She had a natural intuition for that kind of stuff. Her phone dinged again.
[Young Master - 12:18pm: Do you really think you’re the only eyes and ears I have? Which is WHY, I don’t need you always riding my ass. We have been over this. Bye.]
She stood quickly, throwing away her mostly uneaten food.
“Okay, let’s go,” Peko spoke plainly, and you stood, taking her hand and dragging her out of the lunch room at top speed.
~
You arrived at the door to the animal handling room, watching Gundham pass as he was leaving.
“Ah, Y/N, if you could treat those abyssal felines to their daily feast, for though they starve, I must away to class lest I be tardy and face that infernal woman’s curses yet again,” he crossed his arms rather crossly. You knew he wasn’t particularly fond of his ethics professor, a very irritable and unfair woman.
“Yes, Gundham, of course. I take that to mean you fed all the others. Just the cats left for me, yes?”
“Indeed. My greatest apologies for forcing this burden upon you, my dark accomplice,” he noted Peko’s prescence with a short glance, thinking you in her company was a bit odd, but quickly moving on. “Farewell,” and he sauntered off, the  Four Dark Devas of Destruction looking out of his scarf back at you lovingly as he disappeared down the hall.
“He’s such a dork, but so kind once you get to know him,” you mused, entering the room with Peko following along. You always felt the need to speak on Gundham’s behalf or defend him, knowing most Hope’s Peak students unfairly judged him.
“His ‘dark accomplice’?” Peko inquired closing the door behind her as you both entered and you walked further in alone, disappearing into a back closet. She observed the many cages and pet toys, the racks of animal treats and stacks of books on animal anatomy and training. The sounds overwhelmed her, with clicks and squeaks and meows from every angle. “Are you two involved? He seems close with you, though he doesn’t seem to like...people in general.”
“With Gundham Tanaka?!” You shouted from inside the closet, obviously rummaging around for something. “Pfft! No way, he’s just a close friend. If I was his girlfriend I’m sure he’d be calling me his Goddess of Hell or Demonic Lover or some shit like that,” you laughed, imitating Gundham’s deep voice, “I’m honestly surprised I even earned the title of Dark Accomplice. Like you said, he’s not the most social creature.” You came back out, holding a decently heavy bag of what appeared to be cat food, opened at the top and ready for use. Instantly, the cats in cages, conditioned to know the sound and smell of an impending feeding, began mewling and pacing back and forth against the bars of their cages.
“Wow, they must really love you,” she noted their perky attitude upon seeing you.
“What? Nah, they really love the food in my hands right now,” you shook your head, approaching the first cage and opening it, the animal inside trained to not hop out and escape. It awaited impatiently in front of the small bowl in it’s cage as you filled it, Peko watching with an unwavering and envious stare. “I really do feel bad for these little friends...well really all of the animals on campus. Gundham and I take them out to play as much as possible, but seeing them in cages instead of in a loving home... kinda sucks. I guess it’s not all bad. Hope’s Peak has great influence over the country, so we get first call on local strays or abandoned pets, which is better than them going to a shelter or pet shop, I guess.” You sighed, scruffing up the cat’s neck before moving to the next cage. “They aren’t always treated the best elsewhere, but Gundham and I make sure this place is like a palace for them!” She couldn’t help but crack a smile at your trance-like grin, dreamily lost in your love for animals. “And also, we actively scout for potential homes for them, and vet their new owners before handing them over, so they go to a great home, and they don’t stay here too long!” You looked to her finally, noticing the tense posture, like a taut rope about to rip in two. Her fists were clenched again at her sides. There was obviously something on her mind, and it didn’t take a genius to realize what it was. “Peko, do you wanna feed the next one? You can pet her too!”
“M-me?” She stood at attention now, with a look of low confidence that looked so odd and out of character for this fierce swordswoman.
“Yeah, of course!” You opened the next cage door and let it swing open, gesturing to the cat inside, “this pussy’s all yours!” Your eyes widened. Why the fuck did I just say that?! You mentally screeched at yourself, forcing a pained smile with gritted teeth. You were lucky that Peko didn’t hear a word after ‘yeah’, her mind completely in go mode, excited to pet this damn cat and finally get to touch something so soft and cute and-
She rushed up to the cage, darting forth with the energy of a child, and loomed over the entrance with her hand out toward the small calico inside. The cat shrunk back immediately against the back of the cage, it’s spine arched up and fur standing on edge before hissing harshly. Peko reached out further inside the cage, you grabbing her hand.
“Ah, it’s probably better to not pet her when she’s that stressed. I don’t want  her to bite or scratch you.”
“I see,” you let her hand go, and it fell flat to her side, her posture slouching a bit as she looked to the ground. “I suspected this would happen.”
“N-no, she’s just a bit shaken up by how fast you moved. Just like if a person ran at you and you didn’t know them, you’d probably be on the defensive, right? Here, let’s have you just feed her, no need to touch her for that.” You lifted the bag to her, and she, albeit a bit sluggishly, reached her hand in and used the plastic scoop inside the bag to get a hefty amount, and poured it into the bowl, the cat calming a bit. “See, you’re a natural. She’s already warming up to you.” She couldn’t help but smile at your attempt to cheer her up. You closed the cage, and allowed her to feed the rest of the cats in the row, before asking her to sit on the ground in the middle of the room.
“Why?” She inquired before hesitantly sitting.
“Did you like the cats?” You ignored her question, moving to the smaller cages on the opposite side of the room.
“They’re beautiful. I wish I had time to take care of one of my own, but the dorms don’t allow pets anyway, so it doesn’t matter I suppose.”
“What’s your opinion on hamsters?” She grew excited, crossing her legs on the floor and removing the sword from her back, setting it beside her.
“They’re cute! So cute! But...Gundham’s hate me. I’ve never pet one before.”
“Well here’s your chance,” her eyes lit up at your words as you removed a small, pale-yellow colored rodent from the cage, cradling it gently in your hands and sitting on the floor in front of her, closer than you’ve ever been to the great warrior. “Now, this little guy isn’t as well trained as Gundham’s, but he won’t bite, and he’s quite loving. Open your hands, gently,” she obeyed, opening her palms, her heart rate spiking. Her uncurled fingers were angled stiffly and sharply like claws, “gently…relax, he’s not even sweatin’ it, so you shouldn’t either.” She exhaled deeply, a bit embarrassed, and you let the little fur ball transfer into her pale hands, Peko gasping loudly.
“He’s so soft...and fat!” She grinned her signature crooked grin, putting him into one hand and scratching his ear with the other.
“Yep!” You laughed at the tone of her voice, loving this moment. It was amazing to see her at ease and happy, instead of the flat, emotionless expression usually plastered across her visage.
     “What’s his name?”
“Oh! Well he’s newer. Gundham usually thinks of the names, but all of his suggestions this time around were stupid so I told him I’m taking custody,” you both laughed, with yours being more pronounced and hers more of a breathy snort out of her nostrils. “I think he kind of looks like Fuyuhiko, tiny and blonde. Maybe we should call him Little Fuyu or Hiko Junior!” You mused.
“Young Master would be very angry if he found out,” she spoke without looking at you, completely lost in this hamster’s beady eyes and tiny claws. You cleared your throat, a thought clawing at your mind at the mention of Fuyuhiko. You suddenly got nervous.
“H-hey, Peko. Are you and Fuyuhiko involved?” It was a fair question, right? I mean, she asked you the same earlier, “Like, on the side of your duties, a forbidden love unknown to his dad, Lord Kuzuryu, the great clan father!” You tried to play off the awkwardness with humor. She obviously didn’t catch on to that.
“No, of course not. That would be extremely inappropriate. It’s my job to serve him.” She let the hamster run across her thigh, it’s little legs scratching at her tights as she smiled down at him. Oh man her thighs....
“Oh, well…” you were about to leave it at that. No, it’s now or never. She’s going to go back to her duties then you’ll never get another chance like this, “Peko...I was wondering if you’d like to go on a date with me…” You looked to the ground, unable to face her. Her body froze as stunned by a taser.
      “I can’t…”
“Oh,” you expected this response. “Are you, like...not into girls? If that’s the case that’s totally fine! I respect that.” You presented this excuse, hoping she’d take it, desperately not wanting to hear the gut wrenching truth that she just was not into you.
“No, that’s not the issue at all. I am just...Y/N, you know I have duties and lessons and not much else matters to me.” Okay, that didn’t hurt as much as hearing you were just unattractive and plain or worse, repulsive. But it still stung.
“I wouldn’t mind waiting for any spare moment you had, or even helping with Fuyuhiko to lessen you duties, if you would just give me a chance.” You felt like an asshole, guilting or pressuring her, so you changed up your stance. “Uh, you know what, it’s okay if you just don’t like me back, that’s totally your choice and you can say tha-“
     “No, I do.”
“W-what?” Did you hear that right?
“I do...like you.” She unwillingly admitted, her white cheeks turning scarlet. “But, I owe my life to Clan Kuzuryu…” she brought the small rodent up to her face, placing her lips on its tiny head in a swift kiss.
“Man, I wish that were me,” you admitted, defeated. You had nothing to lose at that point. When Peko’s lips touched your cheek in a blur of motion, leaving a firm peck, you stiffened up, a chill running over you.
     “P-Peko?”
“I suppose...just one date wouldn’t burden my Young Master too much. I’ll ask him tomorrow. But… if he says no, I want you to know it wasn’t my choice. I want to hang out with you, even in a date type of setting. I...enjoy your company more than I let on.” There’s that lopsided grin again, the habit of a girl who didn’t smile often.
“You’re serious? You’re not just joking around with me?” She handed the hamster to you, and you quickly put it in its cage and turned to her again.
“I don’t joke.” She said flatly, straightening out her skirt and reclaiming her sword as she stood. You held in a chuckle at her serious tone, leading her to the door.
“Okay, it’s a...potential date, then. Let me know?” She nodded in response.
“I must go to class now, I’ll text you with an update later.” What?
“How do you have my phone number?” You stood dumbfounded. She didn’t stop, talking as she walked away.
“Young Master has it, from that one time you had a group project with him. I...acquired it, just in case I needed it. Bye.” She rushed down the hall.
Gosh...she was something...

Circus AU: Peko x reader
Requested by: Anon!
TWs: few swearing, carnival acts that involves slicing, sword swallowing, human cannonball
This is really an interesting and unique request! Hope you like it! and apologies if it sucks sdhbfdh
Tumblr media
‘I’ve been rejected again,’ You thought as you sat on a bench, troubled, thinking where you could get money to pay your water bill. As you’re worrying, you came across a newspaper and saw some advertisement that are offering jobs. You decided to skim through the newspaper, thinking one of the jobs might be an answered prayer for you.
“Alright, let’s see...” You said, looking through the newspaper to find a job. One job particularly caught your eye. “Human Cannonball Needed in Travelling Circus! Contact xxx-xxx-xxx for details!”. ‘Human cannonball, huh?’ You thought. You knew circuses were a hit these days, and as you’ve heard they pay at least a decent amount of money. And you’re desperate for a source of income, so you took it. You decided to call the number posted, hoping that you’re the first one to call or at least to get the job.
‘They’ll call you back’ they said. You waited a few days while working part time to at least get some cash while waiting. In all honesty, you were starting to lose hope until you received a call from the boss, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. “(Y/N) (L/N)?” The familiar voice of Kuzuryuu boomed through the telephone. “Please come to the circus tomorrow morning. We should discuss more about the job, if you’re still willing.” He spoke. “Uhm yes! I’m still interested in the job! Thank you so much for calling back!” You were overjoyed, but nervous at the same time. Is he implying that other turned down the job? ‘Nah’, you thought, ‘I’m just overthinking this, whatever.’
You arrived at the said location, or so you think. There were really no clear directions so you weren’t sure if this is the circus you applied to. “It’s easy to find, actually.” He said, “Just a big, red tent in the middle of Osaka.”. You were about to call Kuzuryuu, until a short man wearing, what you think is, a magician suit with a matching hat came out of the big red tent. “Ah, you must be (Y/N).” He spoke, “Come, come! I’ll tell you the details inside.”
He led you inside the tent where the performers were practicing their acts. You can’t help but gasp in awe and admire them for their wonderful talents. You silently started to worry. ‘What if I’m not good enough like them?’ your thought got caught off as Kuzuryuu started to walk in, what you assume, the backstage.
“Alright,” He started once we were seated on the crates. “So, the job is about being a human cannonball, as stated in the newspaper. I assume you know what a human cannonball is?” He asked. You nodded slowly. “It’s about launching a human who’s inside a big cannon towards a safety net... right?” “Yes, however, that’s not all. A part of your job is also being Pekoyama’s partner. You’re both going to assist each other in each of your acts.” He then proceeds to explain more about the job. “As you may know, this is a travelling circus so we will tour around Japan in a couple of months, starting here. So, do you accept the job?”
Ah. You looked down at the floor, having and internal battle with yourself. ‘Why are am I suddenly having second thoughts?’ You thought. ‘I was so sure about it yesterday!’ ‘What if I couldn’t do it and ended up injuring myself and the others?’ You slowly looked back up, seeing Kuzuryuu’s concerning glance towards you. “Are you okay?” ‘But the pay is worth it...! I could pay my bills with this and have extra cash left!’ “Ar-“ “I accept the job!” You suddenly exclaimed, cutting Kuzuryuu off in the process in which you apologized profusely. “It’s fine... but glad you accept the job! Lots of people had turn this down. Glad to see you’re not one of those weak shit.” He stood up while you nervously laughed, dreadrfully thinking back about you might become injured and anyone else near you. “Alright, I should introduce you to the crew and show you around the tent. Is that alright with you?” “Of course! I would love to meet them!” He then smirks in response as he showed you around the place.
A tall man with animals surrounding him caught your attention. “Oh, that’s Gundham Tanaka, also known as Tanaka the forbidden one. He’s the animal tamer of the circus. He also performed with animals.” Kuzuryuu seems to have notice your interest for the tamer. Who wouldn’t? It’s amazing to see wild animals tamed and cared by him.
“Is this the newbie human cannonball?” A strange man with white and disheveled hair suddenly appeared beside Kuzuryuu. “Hello there! I’m Nagito Komaeda, otherwise known as Komaeda the lucky guy!” He extended his hand forward in which you shook, noting how sweaty it is. “He’s done life-or-death acts and somehow survives all of them.” Kuzuryuu explained.
“And, that’s Hajime Hinata. He’s the one who sells popcorns and drinks to the audience.” He proceeded to point to a man with a spiky, brown hair, and a large ahoge protruding in the middle of it, who was cleaning the seats. ‘Wow... I wish I wouldn't get that job. That’s so boring... And I mean this in a very respectful way... Poor guy’ You thought, as Hinata raged, saying things like “There’s a huge ass bubblegum stuck here!”
Then, Kuzuryuu led you towards a smoking hot woman with a big, fat cigar in her mouth. “Hey, Pekoyama! How’s it going?” He asked, going near the woman. “This is gonna be your partner, (Y/N) (L/N). If you’re not busy, can you help them practice?” “Sure, after I’m done practicing my stunts,” She spoke, walking towards you. “My name is Peko Pekoyama. I’m the circus’ sword swallower and somewhat the fire artist. I also slice various things with this sword for the show.” She said, showing of her sharp sword. “If you’d like, you can watch me perform my last act. You can sit on that crate if ever.” She pointed towards a crate near a caged lion, “Don’t worry about the lion, Tanaka already tamed him, they won’t be as aggressive as wild lions.”
You sat down on the said crate, looking at the lion from time to time, Peko’s word barely registering in your brain. ‘Is it just me or every act here is kind of dangerous? I take back what I said about Hinata, please take me with you...’ You thought, before gasping in shock as Pekoyama swallowed her own flaming sword with no struggles whatsoever. After her act, she bowed then took a peek at your surprised face. “Surprised? It’s totally understandable!” She chuckled, walking towards you with various fruits on her arms. “Now come, I’ll show you what you have to do, (L/N).”
“Toss one of the fruits high up in the air and towards me.” She instructed. You did as you were told, although you might’ve thrown it a little bit forceful which almost hitting Pekoyama on the face. “S-sorry!” You bit your lip as you felt the blood rise up to your cheeks. She chuckled, telling you it’s fine and that it happens. You continued throwing fruits and was amazed with how she skillfully sliced through the fruits.
“Alright, my next act is similar to this one, except it’s just a little bit dangerous...” She trailed off, going over to an open crate and taking out... bombs? Dynamites? Hello?
She, then, proceeded to light them off using the cigar in her mouth and tossing them into the air. You were internally panicking. How? What? What if we explode? But that didn’t happen as she sliced the fuse off the bombs before they hit the ground. “I-i’m- woah...” You were speechless. You were awestrucked with Pekoyama’s performance. “Heh, that’s not all, hun.” She chuckled before proceeding in lighting up the bombs once again with her cigar. It was similar to the previous act, except this time, she caught the bombs on the flat end of her blade before throwing it up in the air and letting it explode. If you were surprised with the previous act, I don’t even know how you would react to this one. Pekoyama just chuckled at your reaction. “Alright, now it’s your turn!” She smirked. “W-wait, me?” “Yes you! Get in the canon, dummy,”
You quickly snap back to reality as Pekoyama led you towards a huge, colorful cannon. ‘I’m scared’ you thought, ‘It’s risky, but all for the money, I guess’. “Scared?” Pekoyama asked as she positioned the cannon to make sure you hit the safety net, “Don’t worry, if anything goes wrong, I’ll save you.”
You blushed as you went in the cannon, preparing yourself for the launch. “I’m gonna light the fuse now, alright? Be ready.” You heard her voice far behind as you closed your eyes in slight fear. A few seconds later, the cannon fired, sending you high up in the air. You slowly opened your eyes, feeling like you were flying as the adrenaline pumped through your blood.
You were caught by the safety net afterwards. You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding as you awkwardly laughed. Kuzuryuu clapped at you, who’s beside Pekoyama, as he actually saw what happened. Hinata helped you to come back down. “So how was it?” Pekoyama asked, removing the cigar off her mouth. “It was... fun, I guess,” You nervously laughed as you dusted off invisible dirt off your clothes. “You did amazing, (L/N). Now, practice some more as we’ll have a show in a few days.”

With Every Cough My Love For You Blossoms
Summary:
Makoto Naegi refuses to confess his love for Izuru and Hajime.
If only he wasn't suffocating on flowers.
You can read it on AO3 here
Makoto gagged on two different colored petals. Kyoko’s hand was comforting as he coughed the flowers out.
Dark red and orange met both of their gazes.
“You still haven’t told them?” Kyoko asked although the answer was already obvious.
“I don’t think I will,” Makoto said as he wiped his mouth. “There’s no point, anyways…”
“You won’t know unless you try.”
“They already have a lot to deal with,” Makoto argued. “There’s no way they’d accept my confession.”
“Makoto,” Kyoko said, sighing as she examined the petals on the ground. “There’s no way this isn’t going to get worse, and when these petals start coming out as whole flowers you aren’t going to be prepared.”
Makoto got up, glaring at the petals and stomping on them.
“Like I said, there’s no way they’d accept my confession. So it’s much better to just keep my friendship with them.”
“Then you’re going to have to look into the surgery,” Kyoko responded coolly. “Assuming you don’t want to die, that is.”
“Of course I don’t want to die…!” Makoto protested. “But the surgery…”
“Then look into confession, Makoto,” Kyoko said, turning to walk away. “Those are your only options, so you better choose quickly.”
Makoto decided to not heed Kyoko’s advice. There was a lot of work to be done before they left for the mainland.
Or there would be if Byakuya didn’t know about his ‘ailment’.
“You can’t actually believe we’ll let you work,” Byakuya began. “It would be stupid if we let the Ultimate Hope die, even if it is you .”
“I’m not going to die by working, Byakuya!” Makoto complained. “It’s not like you don’t need the help…!”
“As if we need your help,” Byakuya said. “You’re useless here, Makoto.”
“Is there something else I should be doing?”
“Yes,” Kyoko interrupted. “Confess already.”
“N-no way…!” Makoto responded. “You can’t actually-”
“If they reject you,” Byakuya said. “I’ll pay for your surgery.”
Makoto frowned, it wasn’t only the rejection he was afraid of. If he had the surgery, would he still want to be friends with Izuru and Hajime?
He didn’t want to seem shallow, but he felt that his strong attachment to them came from his crush.
Before he could ponder his situation anymore he was coughing, violently.
Sharp pain forced him on his knees and in moments, Kyoko was at his side once again.
“It’s getting worse,” Byakuya remarked.
A few petals left his mouth and Makoto gagged at their exit, relieved at the same time.
“It’s not that,” Makoto replied, voice hoarse. “It’s just that there will be more of them.”
“This only proves our point, Makoto,” Kyoko said. “You need to confess or receive medical attention.”
“Confession would be his best option,” Byakuya said. “The Future Foundation will want to see him as soon as we come back.”
Makoto frowned, knowing his friends were right.
“I’ll be fine, guys,” Makoto said. “Usually the disease takes months to become even close to fatal.”
“You’ll have a harder time,” Kyoko replied. “Most people don’t have to deal with so many petals.”
“You’re already forcing enough on us, Makoto,” Byakuya said. “I don’t want to deal with you passing out on the way back to the Future Foundation.”
“I’ll think about it,” Makoto lied, already knowing he’d never confess.
Byakuya and Kyoko didn’t look convinced, but there wasn’t much more they could do.
Kyoko helped Makoto up, giving him one last look, “Please, at least consider it.”
Makoto nodded, deciding to head towards the beach.
They had two days left at Jabberwock before they needed to head back to the mainland.
I might as well enjoy my time with Izuru and Hajime , Makoto thought. If nothing else, I should remember these feelings before they’re surgically removed… Is that how it works…?
On the beach, Makoto was surprised to see Izuru and Hajime already there.
Izuru had made them keep the long black hair, much to Hajime’s dismay.
“Izuru, Hajime!” Makoto yelled as he walked up to them. “How are you guys?”
“Makoto,” Izuru said. “We are… fine.”
“Are you sure…?” Makoto said, looking at Izuru and Hajime once more. “You don’t sound too sure…”
“Ugh, what that asshole means to say,” Hajime said, taking over. “We're a bit worried about you, Makoto.”
“H-huh…?” Makoto said, hand going for his cheek, an old nervous habit he had yet to beat. “Worried about me…? I don’t understand…?”
“Your physical appearance,” Izuru began to explain. “You’ve been looking weaker and overall more nervous.”
“Really…?” Makoto asked. “Because there’s been nothing going on at all…!”
“We never implied there was,” Izuru responded, lowering himself to look Makoto in the eyes. “However, you just revealed that there is something ‘off’.”
“Huh…?!” Makoto yelled at the close contact. “I did…?”
“You have obvious tells,” Izuru comments. “Are you going to tell us or are you going to make us guess?”
“I mean… it’s nothing important,” Makoto responded quickly. “It’s just about the Future Foundation.”
“You’re lying,” Izuru said. “A plain and boring lie at that.”
“What…?”
“There is something else bothering you,” Izuru said. “Something more important.”
“You’re right,” Makoto admitted looking away. “But, I don’t want to talk about it.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” Hajime said. “Why wouldn’t you want to talk about it…?”
“It’s personal,” Makoto said quickly. “And it’s not the reason I came to see either of you anyways.”
Izuru and Hajime didn’t respond, they looked at him with the same expression Kyoko and even Byakuya had given him.
They were worried.
“I only have two days left on the island,” Makoto continued. “So I want to spend them with you two if that’s okay.”
“Of course it is,” Hajime answered. “Why wouldn’t it be?”
Makoto smiled sadly, “No reason.”
After talking with Izuru and Hajime, Makoto decidedly felt worse. He wasn’t sure if it was the flowers pressing in on his lungs or the fact that he might never feel the same way towards Izuru and Hajime if he got the surgery.
It’s not an ‘if’ situation though, is it? Makoto thought. There’s no way I can confess without ruining our friendship…
As Makoto met up with Kyoko and Byakuya again, he felt another cough coming in. Like before, when Makoto went down to cough, Kyoko was right by his side.
He thought he could hear her muttering about how his stubbornness was going to kill him but he pretended otherwise.
“We should get you back on the boat,” Kyoko said as she helped Makoto to his feet. “We can all call it an early night.”
“Tch,” Byakuya said. “Once again my work is stopped because of Makoto.”
“Sorry about that,” Makoto remarked weakly. “I’ll owe you one, Byakuya.”
“You already ‘owe me one’, Makoto,” Byakuya replied. “Several ones.”
Makoto laughed slightly as Byakuya glared.
Once on the boat, Makoto fell asleep easily. Exhausted from so many coughing fits, he fell into a dreamless sleep.
“Makoto,” Kyoko’s voice was soft, as she shook him awake. “Today’s our last day.”
There was more in her tone, desperation, he thought.
“Already…?” Makoto replied groggily. “I just fell asleep a few minutes ago.”
Kyoko shook her head and smiled slightly, “That’s how it always feels for you.”
“Where’s Byakuya?”
“He already left for breakfast with the Remnants,” Kyoko said. “He decided not to ‘waste any more time on you’.”
Makoto nodded and got ready to leave with Kyoko.
Breakfast was uneventful, ignoring the fact that both Byakuya and Kyoko were staring holes into his head.
Sighing, Makoto realized they weren’t going to leave him alone until he at least tried to ‘confess’ to Izuru and Hajime.
After breakfast, Makoto went to talk to Izuru and Hajime.
“Makoto,” Izuru began, once again. “Are you here to talk?”
“Not only that,” Makoto admitted. “But I need to talk to both of you.”
“Both?” Izuru asked. “What do you have planned, Makoto?”
“Nothing,” Makoto said, and that wasn’t exactly a lie. He didn’t even know if he wanted to confess, but there was no time like the present.
“Alright,” Hajime said. “You’ve got our attention, Makoto.”
Makoto blushed, as he looked at their shoes.
How am I going to say this? Makoto thought. What did I get myself into?
“Nice shoes,” Makoto mumbled.
“Is that it?” Hajime asked, sounding almost insulted.
“How boring,” Izuru commented.
“N-no…!” Makoto yelled, face fully flushed as he looked them in the eyes. “I’m in love with Izuru Kamukura and Hajime Hinata!”
“Wha---?!” Hajime yelled, staring at Makoto shocked.
“An interesting development,” Izuru said.
“I know you don’t have to like me back,” Makoto said, looking down at their shoes again. “But if I didn’t let you both know now, I know-”
Before Makoto could get any more words out, he was suddenly engulfed in a hug.
“Please, shut up,” Hajime said while blushing. “I don’t want to hear about your confession…”
“H-huh…?” Makoto replied although it was muffled by their shirt.
“It’s his way of accepting your confession,” Izuru replied simply. “I also accept your confession as well.”
“Really…?” Makoto asked.
“Obviously,” Izuru said.
“Ugh, can we not talk about the ‘romantic’ stuff?” Hajime complained although it was obvious his heart wasn’t in it.
Makoto smiled, and he noticed his chest felt lighter.
“So, they finally confessed their feelings,” Byakuya said. “Now we can all move on with our lives.”
“Byakuya?!” Makoto yelled, moving out of Izuru and Hajime’s arms to face a crowd.
“It was a wonder you confessed at all,” Kyoko said. “Although it was a bit on the loud side.”
“Jeez, if only I could be that way with Miss Sonia…” Kazuichi commented sadly.
“Why are you all just watching…?!” Hajime yelled.
“I mean, could ya really expect anything else?” Akane asked. “This is the most interestin’ thing on this damn island!”
“How predictable,” Izuru said. “Why did you expect anything different?”
“He is the most correct!” Sonia said cheerfully. “We are your friends, so of course we’d watch!”
“I mean fuckin’ hell Makoto, I didn’t know you could even be that loud,” Fuyuhiko said.
“H-huh…?” Makoto said. “Was I really that loud…?”
“Yes,” Kyoko and Byakuya answered.
“Man,” Akane said. “If only I could get more excited over things like that.”
“You should not give up hope yet!” Sonia said. “Obviously Makoto was working very hard to reach his romantic goal!”
“Maybe we should give them some space,” Fuyuhiko said. “They obviously want it, anyway.”
“Yeah,” Kazuichi agreed. “Maybe Miss Sonia and I could spend some time working on our ‘romantic goals’.”
As the group dispersed, Makoto put his head on Izuru and Hajime’s chest. “That was so embarrassing…”
“Tell me about it,” Hajime agreed.
“It was interesting at the very least,” Izuru said. “Especially when Makoto started yelling…”
“H-hey…!”
Makoto began to bicker with Izuru and mostly Hajime, but he couldn’t complain in the slightest.
It turns out Kyoko wasn’t wrong when she said he should at least try .

She Saves Him (HajimexChiaki)
I’m a little late to the party but! Here’s a little fic for Chiaki’s birthday!  And it’s Hinanami because reasons.
Summary: Chiaki’s class holds an after school picnic, and she invites Hajime along.
Rating: General
Read it on AO3 here!
She had started asking him to play games with her because he’d seemed lonely, and he was handsome, too.  His Reserve Course uniform was clean and tidy and he seemed to be ahead on all his studies, but she had sensed a sadness about him, seen it in his eyes.  She wasn’t sure why, but she was determined to make sure he felt like he fit in somewhere.  She’d like it if it was with her.
So he started bringing his own Game Girl Advance.  Sometimes they talked, sometimes they didn’t.  She thought that he liked it better when they talked, so she made more of an effort than she usually would.
“Sonia is organizing a picnic for my class,” Chiaki announced to him one day, not looking up from her game.  “I think you should come.”
Hajime was quiet next to her and she thought maybe he hadn’t heard her. She was about to repeat herself when he finally said “I’m not sure that’s a good idea, Chiaki. Thank you though.”
She scuffed her toes against the concrete, feeling helpless at his response for some reason.  She really wanted him to come with her. “Well, it would be- more for me, I think.  I don’t get along with my class too well.”
“Huh?”
“What?”
“How do you… Not get along with your class?  You’re pretty personable.”
She lifted a shoulder. “With you, yes, I guess so.  But it’s harder to talk to them.”
“The one good thing about being a bland Reserve Course student.”
She snapped her head up from her game.  “Please don’t say things like that.  I don’t think you’re bland at all.  You’re my best friend, I think.”
She winced at her own words.  It would be nice if she could say something that she meant without accidentally undermining herself.  He looked up from his game as well, watching her carefully.
“You really want me to go to this thing?”
“I’d like to hang out with you,” she said, “And maybe it would be easier to talk to my classmates if you were with me.  You know?”
“I think so…  I guess you’re the class rep, so you have to go either way, huh?”
“Yes, I do.  Or, I should.  It would look bad if I didn’t attend a class event like that, even though the school isn’t organizing it.”
Hajime broke eye contact with her, staring up at the sky.  He seemed to be considering it pretty seriously.  After a few moments, he looked back at her and nodded.  “Yeah, okay.  I’ll go with you. When it it?”
She beamed up at him.  “It’s on Saturday!”
****
Saturday came and Chiaki went all the way to the Reserve Course dorms to get Hajime, just so he couldn’t chicken out.  To her surprise, he was already dressed casually for the event and ready to come with her when she got there.
“You look surprised,” he laughed, closing the door to his dorm room behind him.
“I sort of thought you would back out,” She admitted.  “I’m glad you didn’t, though.”
He blinked, noting that she said it without adding ‘I think’ or something else to negate her own feelings.
“Yeah?  Me too.”
Chiaki chatted nervously to him, a little bit of a spring in her step as they walked along.  A very foolish part of her wanted to grab his hand so they could walk that way together, but she stopped herself.  Besides, Hajime probably didn’t think of her that way.  She could think of plenty of pretty girls he’d probably want to spend time with.
There was a wide open park where Sonia had decided to have their picnic, and Hajime and Chiaki were the last ones to arrive.  The class had spread blankets out over the grass and were all sharing in the food that Sonia had prepared.  Chiaki smiled a little.
“That does look kind of nice,” Hajime said.
“Yeah, it does.”
He surprised her then, by actually taking her hand in his.  He smiled at her when she looked up at him, shock written on her face.
“I’m a little nervous,” he said softly.
“That’s okay.  They’re nice!”
He laughs a little, and it sounds nervous.  “Yeah.  I hope so.”
Chiaki introduced him to her classmates, and aside from Ibuki giving him a very exuberant hug, Hajime got along well with everyone.  Fuyuhiko and Souda took to him right away, which Chiaki could tell Hajime appreciated, even if he wasn’t one hundred percent sure what to think of it.
They all sat down to eat, and Chiaki noticed that Hajime was a little nervous, but she was still really happy that he’d come along.  She planned on telling him that, too.  Maybe later though.  If she told him now, he’d just get all embarrassed.
“So, Hajime?” Sonia asked Chiaki later, when everyone had sort of split off to hang out in smaller groups.  Chiaki looked down at her hands, feeling strange not holding her game.
“What about him?” She asked.
Sonia laughed, a pleasant sound that was light and tinkling.  “You like him, don’t you? Don’t deny it! I can tell.”
Chiaki found herself twiddling her thumbs, just to do something with them.  “Well, um.  We hang out a lot, and play games together.  It’s fun hanging out with him.”
“Chiaki, you can be honest with me.”
Chiaki bit her lip.  “I like him a little.  I don’t wanna scare him though.  I’d be a bad girlfriend, I think.”
Sonia frowned.  “Chiaki, I don’t think you give yourself enough credit!  Any guy would be lucky to date you, and Hajime keeps looking over here.”
Chiaki glanced up, unable to help it, and made eye contact with Hajime, who was already looking at her.  He smiled when their eyes met, and his cheeks turned a little pink.  Chiaki felt her own cheeks heat up and smiled before looking away from him quickly.  She did like Hajime, probably had since the moment she met him, but she didn’t want to say anything.  She couldn’t ruin the friendship they had.
“He’s just looking over here because I brought him here, I’m the only one he knows well.”
“Yes, well.  He’s just hanging out with Fuyuhiko and Souda.  They’ve taken quite a liking to him, haven’t they?”
Chiaki laughed. “Yes.”
The sun started to set, and Sonia called an end to the gathering, saying she didn’t want anyone to catch cold, even though it wasn’t even cold outside.  The others all helped pack up, and after lots of parting hugs the others left, leaving Chiaki and Hajme sitting under one of the trees in the park.
Hajime sighed, leaning his head back against the tree.  “You know, I didn’t think that would be any fun.  But it was.  Thank you.”
Chiaki drew her knees up, not really feeling strong enough to look him in the eye after her conversation with Sonia.  “I… I’m glad you came.”
“Mm.  Me too.  Your classmates aren’t how I thought they’d be.”
“How did you think they’d be?”
“I thought they’d… Look down on me.  For not having a talent.  But they’re kind of like you.”
“How am I?” She looked at him, without even meaning to.  He looked down at her and smiled lightly.
“Kind.  You think I’m interesting, even though I’m just-”
She shook her head, cutting him off.  “You’re not ‘just’ anything.” He huffed out a laugh.  “See, that’s what I mean.  You never let me talk down on myself.  I guess it still feels different when it comes from you.”
“Different?”
“I got asked to participate in this… Study.  It was gonna change my life.”
“Oh.”  She wasn’t sure where the change in topic had come from, but she also wanted to hear about it, so she didn’t question him.
“I… You, inviting me to this… You, really… Made me think twice about it.  You always try to get me to accept myself the way I am.”
She scuffed her toes in the dirt. “I like you the way you are,” she murmured, tugging her sweater sleeves over her hands.
“I like you.”
He said it differently.  Like it was a fact. Like it meant something more than just ‘I like hanging out with you.’
She turned her head to face him again.  “Huh?”
“I like you. I want to be somebody who can stand proudly by your side.  And today kind of made me think that maybe I’m closer to that then I thought.  So I’m telling you… I like you.”
He was blushing, but he still watched her anxiously, waiting for her response.  Chiaki felt warmth crawl over her own cheeks, and she tilted her head to hide in his shoulder.  “I like you too.  I’d like you to be next to me.”
She felt him let out a breath that he’d apparently been holding. A comfortable silence stretched between them until he finally spoke again.  “Cool.”
“Yeah.”
“Do you… Do you wanna go out, sometime, then?”
She reached for his hand, watching their fingers twine together.  “Yeah.”

Title : The Hope Inside of You
Author : @behindtherobinsmask
For : @sorrelartz
Prompt : There was only one bed
Warning/Rating : None
Author’s Note : A/N
“Oh, you have got to be kidding me,” Hinata muttered staring at the literal short stick in his hand.
Being the great friends that they were, in the face of Hinata’s misery, Soda and the others high-fived one another, praising Lady Luck who had been kind enough to smile down on them. When it came to Hinata, on the other hand, Lady
Luck ignored him like a middle child she couldn’t be bothered with anymore. But maybe that was the price he had to pay for being admitted to Hope’s Peak Academy.
“Sorry man. But think about it this way, it can’t get worse than this, yeah?” Soda said, trying to look sympathetic but he found it difficult to contain his glee.
That was when Fuyuhiko intervened, shaking his head at Soda’s attempt to cheer up Hinata. “Hate to break it to ya but it can get worse,” he said, tilting his head towards one member of the group who had been strangely silent since the beginning of the trip.
Holding the other short stick, with his silver hair set wild, stood the luckiest man in Hinata’s class, Nagito.
“Guess we’re going to be roommates, Hinata.” Nagito smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes.
Feeling Nagito’s unsettling gaze on him, Hinata raised his hand and smacked Soda’s head, knowing that the damn mechanic had jinxed him.
Things were definitely about to get worse.
As a child, Hinata had grown up hearing all about Hope’s Peak Academy and the amazing students that studied there. Wanting to be better than who he was, desperate to embody the very essence of hope within his body, Hinata worked hard each day to find his talent, the one thing that no one could take away from him. But every challenge, every test left him as the loser, someone always surpassing him one way or another. As days to turned to years, Hinata had to accept that he was normal after all.
He never gave up on Hope’s Peak though.
And maybe moved by his persistence (or pitying his situation) Lady Luck finally gave Hinata the opportunity he had been looking for. Hope’s Peak would be starting a college that would be open to the general public. The cream of the crop would be accepted and given the opportunity to study side by side with the embodiments of hope.
Seeing how things had always worked out for him, Hinata wasn’t hopeful but one day, the mail arrived and he was on his way to Hope’s Peak, ready to create a new future for himself. Of course, there was a lot he expected before the school year started, bullying and alienation. But his expectations were shattered as his classmates accepted him without question.
Well, all except one: Komaeda Nagito.
In the beginning, Hinata had tried his best to connect with Nagito, being successful more than once. But as the new day arrived, Nagito reverted back to his old behavior, looking down at Hinata and reminding him that he didn’t deserve to be a part of Hope’s Peak.
Soon, Hinata came to accept that Nagito ran hot and cold. Unfortunately, there was no way to know predict how he’d react.
So, as he opened the door to the room that he would be sharing with Nagito, Hinata had already said goodbye to his vacation.
With summer holidays around the corner, Hinata and his classmates had decided to go on a trip together. Unfortunately, there had been a mix-up with the reservations and now Hinata and Nagito were forced to share a room that only had one bed.
One bed. Hinata stuck with a man who hated him. What could possibly go wrong?
“Well, uh…” Hinata muttered staring at the bed. “I guess we could ask them for extra bedding and I can sleep on the floor for tonight?”
Bracing himself mentally, Hinata waited for a lecture about how he made the right choice despite being a nobody. But that never came. Instead, Nagito hummed before shuffling to the bed, falling on it headfirst.
Then he did something Hinata never expected.
“Why don’t we just share? The bed is big enough for both of us.” Nagito smiled.
And even though he didn’t want to admit it, just like all the other times Nagito had genuinely smiled at him, Hinata was blushing yet again.
When he had settled in for the night, Hinata had been feeling good about the day. Despite the mess up with the reservations, everything had worked out smoothly. Even Nagito had been on his best behavior.
He smiled at Hinata, made small talk and though Hinata knew he was reading too much into it, Nagito was touching him more than usual. He would brush his hand against Hinata’s, lean his head on his shoulder and leaned in close enough that all Hinata had to do was look up to kiss him.
That kind of behavior made Hinata’s heart race because he had to admit, despite his occasionally shitty attitude, Nagito was one good looking man, enough to make anyone stop and stare.
And Hinata found himself staring at Nagito. A lot.
He had also been caught doing that by his classmates more than once, though Nagito remained oblivious to Hinata’s obvious feelings for him. The silver-haired male had always been too lost in his self-hatred to notice the love that was always waiting for him, waiting to be noticed, waiting to be accepted.
So now, here Hinata was, with his obvious crush, pretending to sleep as the object of his affection burned holes into his back, staring so intently that Hinata was scared to even move a muscle. Either Nagito had something to say to Hinata or he was plotting his murder. In Hinata’s mind, there simply was no in-between.
Just as Hinata steeled himself for a sudden attack, feeling the bed shift underneath him, suddenly, Nagito’s head was pressed against his, air brushing against his skin as the silver-haired male sighed.
“It really is strange Hinata,” Nagito muttered, his voice almost sad. “I’ve been looking for hope my whole life but I just… I can’t seem to find it.”
Hinata wondered if Nagito knew that he was awake. Or maybe, he had been staring all this while to ensure that Hinata was asleep. Because it wouldn’t matter how close they are, the secrets and thoughts that Nagito kept close to his heart, he’d never let the world know about them. Once or twice he had slipped up in front of Hinata, always labeling his words as a lie. But over time, Hinata knew better.
“Maybe I was wrong.” Nagito laughed. “Maybe it’s time to stop running away from the truth. It’s time to stop running away from you.”
And with those words, Nagito pressed a kiss against the nape of Hinata’s neck, moving away once he was done. He promptly fell asleep after that while Hinata stayed awake, chaos in his head, chaos in his heart.
Hinata felt like he was losing his mind, sitting under the sun, drifting in and out of sleep, reflections of Nagito from the night enough to wake him up.
Right now, with the sky clear and a cool breeze moving through, the whole group had descended down to the beach to enjoy themselves. From fancy (over the top for some) swimsuits to beachballs and watermelons, everything had been prepared and what was supposed to be a fun day had somehow turned into Hinata’s personal hell. He was confused, sleep-deprived and maybe a little scared. Scared of the feelings he had. Scared of the words Nagito had said. Scared of what he could say. And most importantly, scared that Nagito didn’t mean what Hinata wanted him to mean.
With his head hanging low, after making an excuse of feeling sick, Hinata was curled up under a tree, his mind racing, trying to push down his emotions and shut down his heart. But nothing seemed to work. Every time he tried to get Nagito out of his head, all he could remember were his words and the feeling of his lips against his skin.
“Hinata. Hinata. Hina–”
A hand grabbed Hinata’s shoulder. “Hinata!”
Eyes snapping open, startled, Hinata looked up to find the very man he so desperately wanted to escape for just a second. But as his blurry vision cleared, the sun’s light fading away, Nagito’s silhouette turned into Chiaki’s, a silver halo around her brown hair.
“Are you okay?” she asked, shoving her gameboy into her pocket as she sat down next to him.
“Sorry,” Hinata apologized with a sigh. “I didn’t get much sleep last night.”
“Hmm. Did something happen with Nagito?” Chiaki asked. If Hinata wanted to lie, he could. But there wasn’t any point.
Chiaki knew how he felt about Nagito, even before Hinata had realized it himself.
“He’s acting… strange,” Hinata admitted, leaning his head against the tree trunk, eyes staring up at the clear blue sky.
“Oh?”
“Yeah. He said something last night and I’ve been on the edge ever since. It’s probably nothing and he probably doesn’t even remember.”
“But you can’t stop thinking about it?”
Hinata grimaced. “Pretty much.”
“You’re really scared of Nagito finding out how you feel, aren’t you?” Chiaki asked, her gaze drifting to her friends who were playing volleyball now. “If he knows, he could reject you. If he doesn’t, at least that way you’ll have some kind of relationship.”
Hinata didn’t say anything to that, knowing that there was no point in denying her words. Especially when she was so on point.
“Whether Nagito likes you or not, you won’t know until you tell him. And by holding onto these feelings, all you do is hurt yourself over and over, unable to move on,” Chiaki said with a tilt of her head. “Anyway, I think you’re scared for nothing. Nagito sees you more than you think.”
“You’re supposed to be the Ultimate Gamer, not Ultimate Therapist,” Hinata scoffed while on the inside his heart raced.
Chiaki smirked. “I’ve lived many a lives and gathered much wisdom, my friend.” Then she pulled out her Gameboy. “Now, let’s see if you can beat me in this game or not.”
As the sun set on a day filled with nothing but confusion and overthinking, Hinata watched as purple spread across the sky and the blue ocean lit up in flames. The sun in the water, the moon in the sky, two worlds colliding.
“Have you heard the story about the sun and moon being lovers?”
Looking back, Hinata stared at Nagito, waiting for him to continue. Now, after his conversation with Chiaki, the advice and much-needed distraction that she gave, Hinata no longer wanted to runaway at the sight of Nagito. If the silver-haired man had something to say, Hinata would hear him out, even if it did hurt at the end.
“Two stars in love, the sun, and the moon once existed in the sky together, breathing side by side. The sun shone bright, his light blinding and in comparison to him, the moon never had her chance to shine, her luminescent glow never enough to catch anyone’s eye. If the sun wished it, he could give the moon her chance to be the center of the sky but too lost in his own light, his expectations and desires, he never noticed how she was slowly fading away, still by his side but so distance,” Nagito said, staring up at the moon that was slowly emerging into sight.
“Then one day, the moon made a wish, a small wish but a selfish wish. She wished to shine, for one night. Somewhere, a distant god heard a cry and granted her wish, but that fulfillment came with a price, separating the two lovers. With the earth coming into existence, the sun could shine only during the day while the night was the moon’s domain, giving her a place in a world that didn’t seem to need her. But now, even though the moon shines every night, she can never be with the sun, the two cursed to only catch glimpses on one another. Still, happy nonetheless.”
“Is that how the story really goes or is it how you think it should go?” Hinata asked once Nagito was done talking.
Nagito smiled at that. “Sometimes you fall in love with someone that you know can give you everything you want but it doesn’t work out. Sometimes, you need to let go of love to find something better for yourself.”
Fingers curling into fists, Hinata gulped nodded, afraid of the implication behind Nagito’s words. Whether they were a warning or not, Hinata couldn’t tell.
“Did you know that I was once in love with someone that reflected the hope that I had always been looking for?” Nagito suddenly asked, his eyes staring straight into Hinata’s.”
“No. I didn’t know that.” Hinata gulped.
“His name was Naegi and he was, still is, everything that I had envisioned hope to be,” Nagito said, a small smile on his lips, remembering his first love. “But then, as time passed, I realized a strange thing. Naegi was the hope I had been searching for but I wasn’t really in love with him. My feelings never evolved from admiration.”
Not that this was the time to mention it, but from what Hinata knew, Naegi was also in a relationship with one Byakuya Togami, someone that no one really wanted to mess with.
“I’m in love again, Hinata,” Nagito finally said and Hinata could feel his heart tremble in his chest, on the verge of breaking, waiting for the words that would end all of his hope.
Taking a step forward, closing the distance between them, Nagito cupped Hinata’s face, his fingers trembling. “I’m in love with the hope inside of you,” he whispered and Hinata took in a shaky breath because this couldn’t be true. There had to be something more, a ‘but’ or a punchline, something to pull him back to reality, to cut his wings before he soared to high. “I didn’t want to admit it at first. I wanted to run from it for as long as I could. But you were always there, in my head, in my heart.”
“If this is a joke,” Hinata growled under his breath. “If you tell me this is one of your lies.”
Nagito smiled. “I believe I should be the one who’s angry. After all, you, a reserve course student wormed your way into my heart,” he said but there was no trace of malice in his voice. “You forced me to think about you, made my eyes follow your every move until you were all that I wanted.”
“Sounds like a you problem to me.”
“Mmhmm,” Nagito giggled, leaning his head against Hinata’s. “You are the hope that I’ve been looking for all this while. I love you, Hinata.”
And as Nagito leaned in to kiss him, fireworks exploding in the air, in his mind, Hinata had to agree, Chiaki had been right all along.

Ask and You Shall Receive
This was the third attempt. It was roughly morning, very early day break, when Fuyuhiko decided to venture from his hospital bed. He hated being stuck there. He refused to sit there... He was going to be with everyone else if it killed him.
Of course, a fragile and aching body fought against him. He managed to get both feet out, and used the wall for support. He felt at it, seeing how far he could reach before trying to stand... It was hard, focusing with one eye while your entire head pulsed...
His knees wobbled, but he could stand... He kept his hand on the wall, not daring to pull away. He felt further, the further his hand grazed the wall, the wider he stepped. Each step was painful, though. But he would grit and bear it, just like everything else he did in this world.
He'd deal with it and overpower it.
Or so he thought.
He got to the hall, and by then, it was made obvious he was out of bed by the last person he would suspect.
Gundham stirred from his brooding position on the wall, but he wasn't startled. He heard him raise up a bit ago, he just didn't move. He peaked his eye open to peer at Fuyuhiko; who shot a glare back. A glare that dared him to try and stop him, a glare that dared him to tell him to go back to bed. But Gundham remained silent, only watching.
Kazuichi was the next to notice, having been asleep in a chair in Fuyuhiko's room. He didn't even realize he was up until he was out of the room. He looked to see Fuyuhiko, standing upright in the middle of the hall. He immediately wanted to shout and lung at him to get him back but around the time he was going to, Mikan beat him to it.
But was stopped by Gundham.
"Mr. Tanaka, I-I'm sorry-- but, he really shouldn't be--"
Gundham silenced her with a shift in his eyes. She put her hands over her mouth, watching. Kaz watched nervously from the doorway, figuring if neither of them would do it he had to.
"Don't," Fuyuhiko flinched, causing him to stumble away and hit the wall lightly with his shoulder. Nearly everyone gasped but he quickly leveled himself. "Don't you dare fucking touch me." He sounded strained and exhausted...
"Please, Mr. Kuzuryuu, you shouldn't be up!" Mikan sobbed out, but respected Gundham's silent demand to let him try.
"Y-yeah, get your butt back here!"
"Shut it, the both of you! Your voices hurt my head..." He strained, his balance thrown off again as he dropped to his knees after attempting to walk forward again. He cupped his head, groaning in pain.
"Mr. Kuzuryuu!!" Mikan looked to Gundham. "I have to help him, I--"
"He doesn't want help," Gundham agreed with her internally, but they would have to do this Fuyuhiko's way. If he was going to be stubborn, they have to be stubborn back.
He steps forward, getting closer to being in front of Fuyuhiko and looking down at him. Their gazes met again.
"Get up, Fuyuhiko." Gundham didn't seem impressed with this game. Fuyu returned the demand with a snarl.
"He can't, you numbskull!" Kaz strained his voice, already annoyed by all this.
"He can, and he will. If he can crawl out of bed, he can walk his own way back to it." Gundham crossed his arms. "So. Get. Up." The last one was a lot more stern.
Fuyuhiko growled, looking up at him the best he can as he was halfway to pushing himself off the floor. "Once... I stand up... I'm gonna beat your ass."
"I look forward to that," Gundham pops back. "The moment you can stand and take a swing at me without risking your own health is a different day I shall owe to you if get up and get yourself back into that bed, Fuyuhiko."
"Don't you fucking taunt me," he tries harder to push himself up, now trying to sit on his knees. "You fuckin... shitty bastard..."
"You may grab hold of me to assist you, but I will not pull you up."
Fuyuhiko hesitated, before roughly grasping the end if Gundham's coat and flicking it.
"Get the fuck away from me," he leaned back, hoping that would help him stand. "I don't need you."
Gundham nods, stepping back a few steps. Fuyuhiko said it himself. He didn't want help. He didn't need it. He can do this alone.
Either he could, or he would be forced to accept help. Either way, the decision will be final today.
Fuyuhiko took a few attempts at standing, but he did it. He had to use the door so he wouldn't wobble, but there was no way he could walk. He glared at Gundham, seeing this as a victory. A silent Fuck You.
Gundham holds that stare, before tilting his head. "Kazuichi, help him to bed." Kaz cautiously nods, reaching for him. He wasn't stopped this time, as Fuyuhiko kept his eyes on Gundham, who turned his head to Mikan. "And make sure he stays there."
Mikan quickly comes over, helping the other side as she and Kazuichi walked Fuyuhiko back into the room. Fuyu kept... staring, as Gundham turned his back and walked down the hall.

Summary: Maybe coming to Hope’s Peak Academy was exactly what they needed to fix sixteen years of miscommunication and things left in silence

Here is a very very late Valentine’s Day fic that I meant to post way earlier, but school. Hopefully, White Day will be on time or not as late.
Peko had arrived from Baiso* twenty minutes ago, but had stared intensely at the items laid out before her for the last fifteen minutes. This particular convenience store had student discounts given its location to Hope’s Peak, thus out of her 2,000 yen monthly stipend* she managed to save 1000 yen. It was enough to cover “bodily maintenance”, and given that she always managed to save from the month prior any quick emergencies were covered for.
In front of her, there were two small bags of dairy-free chocolate melts: one brown and the other white. Next to those was an all inclusive kit filled with: a bunny patterned silicone mold, two filling pipers, and two decorating pipers. In reality, there were a variety of molds presented in the store— above all else, there were hearts to every degree that they all but exploded across the wall. Those were immediately out of the question, of course. Below those were adorable animal shaped ones: bunnies, kittens, puppies, and the like; unfortunately, she lost this battle of self-control and gave into the demon of impulse, thus purchasing the aforementioned bunny set. For a moment in the store, she wondered if getting the more sophisticated mold kit would have been better. IF (and that was an incredibly large if) he had accepted her chocolates, Peko did not want him to feel as though she were emasculating him.
Quite the opposite really. She wanted to give him something that she enjoyed making for him.
Up until now, she had simply given him giri choco* along side a small, simplistic ‘thank you note’; one time she ‘changed things up’ and wrote ‘thank you’ in calligraphy rather than using a 0.5mm pen. Devoid of all personal attachment, it was professional and straight to the point: a token of her appreciation for allowing her to stay by his side after all these years. She knows she was a cause of stress for him, and she reckons she’s partly to blame for his severe insecurities, but he hasn’t forsaken her yet, and to that she’s grateful. She’s grateful to him for a lot of things. That being said, with their time at Hope’s Peak, Pekoyama now found the gesture inaccurate— that is, saying ‘thank you’ was lacking; it did not entirely encompass what she wanted to express. She was not certain what it was that she did want to express, but she knew it was far more than ‘thank you’. It’s why she had met with Hajime Hinata, the ex reserve course student who transferred along side Lady Natsumi, in secret, to start brainstorming. Granted, the idea of psychoanalysis outside the field of torture was pointless to her; Peko thought there was not much of her to ‘analyze’ in the first place. Yes, it can be said that she ‘passed’ the psychological assessment the school administered (by law) for freshmen, but those were simple yes or no answers that anyone could fib. Which she did. However, now she wanted to be honest with him…and with herself.
That’s right. Pekoyama Peko the Tool was going to confess her desire to be equals with her young master.
Even now, with no turning back, she was consumed with second thoughts: the kind that reached deep into her abdomen, and twisted her intestines, but she could only squirm in response (she’s familiar with the action because she’s done it to other people). If she went through with this—no, when she went through with this their relationship would change regardless of his answer. Peko understands what he has told her for the last… since they could speak, so the probability of him rejecting the notion is unlikely. But it’s not a 100% acceptance, either. If on the off chance he says no, that he has an epiphany overnight, and recognizes his role in the family (and thus hers to him) he could very well kill her on the spot if he so pleases. If he rejects her request but does not kill her, then their relationship would continue to strain. He might grow paranoid of her new attitude, thinking she might launch an attack on him, so he would have to have her killed and replaced.
The notion was as ridiculous as it was impossible; not him killing her, mind you, but her betraying him.
The swordswoman poured another cup of ginger tea from her electric kettle. ‘A good kind of nervousness’, was how Hajime described it: the kind of excitement that could easily be confused for dread— a fighting spirit clashing with a ten foot concrete wall.
“You definitely don’t look like a pushover, Pekoyama, but you do keep to yourself, right? So then you’re not the type to ask for much, but because of that something like this is even more nerve wrecking for you.”
“I suppose that makes sense. However, this is something he’s wanted for a long time, and now that I recognize it as something…that I want too, I do not understand why I am so nervous.”
“It’s okay to feel that way, Pekoyama. Even if you’re ready for it, not knowing exactly how things will turn out makes anyone nervous. It’s okay to feel that way, you have every right to.”
But was it really okay to tap into her emotions? Emotions clouded judgements, made some hesitate, and others get killed. Of course, it would be a lie to say she felt nothing at all in the years, but now she actually has deal with her feelings instead of running from them at her convenience. You see, suppressing her feelings had became a such a messy crutch while growing up, and it was one she didn’t realize she’d been using until she began to properly think for herself during her time at the school. It rationalized the deep rooted loneliness— convinced herself that she would only ever be “the other” in the room. It justified her murders of men and women whom she had only been told deserved to die. It made the dimly lit cellar (the one with the cage, two chairs, and a medical cart) which was layers below the estate bearable. Sometimes, it yielded her jealousy (Envy? Both?) of the pretty convenience store clerk whose face did not scare others and whose eyes were not monstrous like her own.
Above all, she feels a visceral reaction to the thought of being anything but a tool. Though, it was more that possessing a will of her own greatly unnerved her. And how could it not? The idea that she could make decisions for herself, possess her own morals, express her own preferences, care about herself beyond…basic maintenance of her body was completely foreign to her. Now, to search for those jaded fragments of herself without anyone’s permission but her own made her head pound. Peko sighed. Perhaps she should just leave the chocolates with a quick note in his locker early in the morning. What if her face became too intense and she scared him, again? Like she always did when they were younger. There was also the option of running up to him, all but shoving the chocolates into his hands, and running off to the school’s dojo to distract herself with training.
But that was the way of a coward, was it not?
If the kendo athlete wanted to cheap out, she would have just bought a generic chocolate set from the store. No, almost every action of hers was carefully planned out— with the exception of the mold choice, of course. Peko needed to do this, not just for him, but for herself. It was a battle unlike any she had faced before: that is, the fight for her own humanity.
Inhale.
Exhale.
One thing at a time, just like Hajime told her. For now, she retrieved the remaining tools— filling a small pot with water to create a Bain Marie on the hot plate. Beginning with the brown chocolate, she opens the bag carefully so as to not make an entire mess. Given the size of the bag, she would not have needed all its contents; however, with all of Hajime’s help she felt inclined to make a small batch for him as well. Granted, they were not to be specially molded as his were, and she’d only give him the brown one, but he was the first person she could truly call a friend. That, Peko thought, most certainly warranted homemade chocolate. It was funny, she’d spent her whole life with him, but they never connected the same way her and Hajime did.
Yet, she does not find herself discouraged by this fact. In a small way, she did feel guilty: information that he always asked for was given so willfully to a stranger who was only just assigned his title a few months prior. But, after tomorrow, it did not have to be that way. Mind you, Peko was still navigating in the dark— no she could navigate in the dark without her glasses on. She was navigating a battlefield without her sword at her hand, humongous warriors clashed all around her, there was torrential downpour with horrendous winds, and she didn’t have her glasses on. Yes, that was a better analogy. Point is, she still had no idea how to manage human relationships beyond a superficial level; even with Hinata’s bond, things were completely different with him. The bodyguard knows him; not everything about him (she gave him his privacy when she could), but they were as close as two non related humans could be. It was a closeness different from his with Lady Natsumi, that much is obvious.
Peko ponders for a moment. Did everything have to be different with him? That was the whole point of everything she’s done up until now, wasn’t it? That she wanted things to be different between them, but only to the extent in which the walls between them would be torn down. Maybe, like in her fashion, she was overthinking things again: taking them to an extreme rather than taking a moment to breathe. She would have to check the school’s roster for an Ultimate Yoga Instructor. Then, with the idea of finding one’s inner peace through slow movements, it clicks.
Honesty.
She just has to start by being honest with him, little by little. Even if she did not want bother him with her feelings, keeping them to herself will, no doubt, continue to worsen his trust in her. She wouldn’t start confessing her life, but small, in the moment conversations she thinks she can handle. Maybe, it could encourage him to open up to her as well. Like her, he was blunt with his words, but hardly honest with himself. He could come to her, as a trusted comrade to discuss his problems or plans without telling her not to worry about it or that he could handle it on his own. Hell, they could just talk about anything. They could talk like regular people.
The chocolates were finished, by the way; the small boxes were separated by receiver, and ready to accept their respective sweets. She is sure to distinguish the two by grabbing a post it note, writing “Thank you for all your hard work” upon it, and sticking it onto Hinata’s box.
Fuyuhiko’s box didn’t need a note. Her words would have to be enough.
No amount of kendo tournaments, sessions with Hajime, nor appointed ‘jobs’ could have prepared Peko for the sheer terror she felt at the moment: sitting in front of the fountain, waiting for him. She first intertwined her hands to yield their incessant tapping from her knees, but her thumbs begin to fidget. Then, she decided to sit on them, but of course her legs began to bounce hard enough that the tap tap tap of her heels began to irritate herself. Finally, she stood up and began to circle the fountain with a controlled speed in hopes of calming her heart. What good would it do if she couldn’t even get her words out? It was a miracle the swordswoman managed to invite him here in the first place.
She took a deep breath, ‘Excuse me, Ku-Kuzuryu?’ They we’re still in class, so she had to whisper less Mioda overheard even though she was currently in conversation.
‘Huh? What’s up?’ He responds just as quietly, but he doesn’t turn all the way to face her. For that she’s grateful.
‘I…I need to speak with you. May we please meet at the fountain after school?’
‘O-Oh, sure. Everything good?’
‘Yes!’ She answered good quickly, ‘That is to say, there is nothing to be concerned about. Well, there is something, b-but it does not endanger your safety.’
‘…Okay? After school, fountain. Got it.’
In hindsight, she should have shut up after ‘yes’, but her nerves had been on edge since she woke up. Although no drama-like hijinxs occurred, Pekoyama hadn’t realized how intense her gaze was until Hajime pointed it out when she delivered his chocolates. She doubly thanked him for calling her out, least she scarred him off. After the Ultimate Counselor bid her good luck, Peko all but sped walked to the fountain, and even managed to leave class four minutes earlier.
It’s not until her fourth turn around the fountain that Pekoyama sees him through the gushing water. Maybe it was the angle of the sunset, but he looked particularly handsome in this light. Walking back to the bench with her bag, she quickly greets him as per usual.
“So, what’s up?”
It was now or never.
“Ha-Happy Valentines D-Day, Fuyu…hiko.” Having taken out the chocolates from her bag, she bows with her arms extended towards him.
“Did you just…?” For a moment, she begins to panic; she was still bowed, so she could not see the look of utter of shock on his face— not mortified or disgusted, like she thinks, just…surprised. Not knowing this, she tenses, but this time in fear of disrespecting him; he already had been at the estate, and she didn’t want to join the lot that did. Peko tried her hardest not grip the box too tightly in her hands, but her heart pounded in her throat while seconds felt like hours awaiting his response.
But then, her hands feel light as he takes the box from her. She straightens up immediately with an eagerness to see his reaction.
“D-Did you make these? Just for me?”
“Yes!” But that wasn’t entirely honest, “I did give chocolates to Hinata, but only with what I had left, a-as a thank you for being…a friend to me. But yes…I made them with you in mind.”
“It’s okay, Peko, you don’t have to explain yourself to me.” She watches the way his fingers linger over the box cover, “Can I…is it okay if I try one now?”
The setting sun reflects its red lights upon his cheeks, or so she assumes. Nevertheless she urges him to do so while letting him know they were dairy free, and so safe for him. He takes it upon himself to sit down when opening the box (his hands were shaking too), and she could only stand there gawking like an idiot until he tells her sit down as well. She doesn’t sit immediately next to him, but the gap is not as wide as it was months ago. In fact, the physical gap between them hadn’t been so wide for the past few weeks— however, whether that was intentional or not was an entirely different discussion.
“That’s right…” He says, smiling down at the chocolates, “You try to hide it, but you like cute things like this, don’t you?”
“That’s…”
His grin widens at her heated face, “Fluffy things, the color black, and cute crap are the stuff you like best, yeah? Hey! Don’t act so surprised; I know you more than you think I do.”
In the moment, Peko hadn’t known her heart could pound against her ribs without performing a highly intensive workout. She wasn’t one for many words, but even now it was particularly difficult to do so. Part of her wants to remain silent, watching him take his first bite in some irrational hope that he suddenly developed telepathy and thus could read her thoughts. That way, he could understand exactly what she wanted to say to him without her tongue twisting in some foolish manner. There would be no more miscommunication or ‘almost spoken things’ between.
But, nothing in life were that easy. So, she forces herself to speak,
“How….are they? Does it agree with your stomach?”
“Perfect.” Though, she does not know that even if they were horrible, he still would have eaten if only because she made. Unfortunately, he was always bad with words as she was.
“Really?” Her eyes lit up, “I am…glad you enjoy them.”
“Yeah, they are. I’m so used to you just leaving some store bought ones on my desk, so when I only saw Natsumi’s karinto I-I got a little worried you weren’t going to give me some this year.” He covers the box just as carefully as he opened it, “But then I realized it was unmanly and, frankly, shitty for me to just assume you’d give me something.”
“N-No no, it isn’t. It’s only logical to expect chocolates after years of receiving them. I simply wanted to make them this year.” She takes a deep breath this time, feeling a sense of chills drowning her, “However, the chocolates are not…the only reason I asked to meet with you.”
“O-Oh, yeah? Why, uh, why else did you want to see me?”
“I….please forgive me, but to say something like this…I do not know if my words will come out correctly.”
“T-There’s no way to know if you don’t say it.” Unbeknownst to her, his heart also felt like it would explode at the moment even when he tries to slouch to appear more casual. Yet, he also sits up to let her know he was most definitely listening to her, “Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
“Right, well th-that is…” She places a hand on her chest, trying and hoping to calm her erratic beating, “I think,” She breathes again, “No, I have reached the conclusion, on my own, that I do not…” Remember to look at him, “I do not want to be your tool anymore.”
“…Peko?”
But she can’t handle the way he stares back at her, not with repugnance nor detestation, but completely flabbergasted. Truthfully, meeting the gaze of his widened golden eyes (the same eyes which pulled her through on so many occasions) is too much for her right now.
“Y-You needn’t worry, of course. I do not intend to cease my efforts in keeping you safe. Protecting you is something that is incredibly important to me, and it always will be!” It’s the only thing she can say confidently, “However, now it is because I…I care about you. Because I want to care about you.”
Surprisingly, the more she spoke the less dread she felt,
“I realize now that these feelings are not of obligation, but a result of my…h-human self. There are still things I do not know, things that I do not remember, and things I do not comprehend when it comes to being a person. To be honest, ‘being myself’ is an…overwhelming goal to achieve, and I do not really know where to begin. However, I do know that from today onwards I want stay by your side out of my own fee will. I want to see the same horizons you do, to fight along side you.” Finally, with furrowed brows, she looks at him, “I-Is that okay? Is…is it wrong?”
15 seconds….34 seconds…1 minute…
“How could that ever be wrong?” He finally responds to her, “I’ve told you time after time, but I guess I was too much of an impatient asshole, and just needed to let you figure it out for yourself. I’m sorry for that, Peko.”
“Does this mean…you’ll accept me as I am? To be along side you?”
Peko is caught off guard when he takes her closest to him into both of his: not squeezing, but holding it between his own. She’s sure he can feel her erratic pulse, the way he thumbed over her wrist as held her. She doesn’t pull away from him— she never wanted to, and now she doesn’t have to. At least, when they were like this.
“If that’s what you really want, then there’s no way I’d ever stop you.” He stops petting her hand for a moment, “But…you have to let me protect you too.”
Huh?
“I do not entirely understand.”
His grasp tightens and his gaze does not waver, “You said that you care about me, right? W-Well it’s the same for me, too, ya know? I don’t order you around, because I didn’t want you to think I only thought of you as a tool for me. I never did. I also didn’t want to put your life in danger even if the old man thinks otherwise. I know you’re strong, much stronger than me, and you’re perfectly capable of taking care yourself, but I…I still want to defend you. I know I have a ways to go myself, but I want to be a man that you can readily rely on, a confidant, your friend, and maybe e-even…” He trails off after that, the red on his cheeks deepening as he removed one hand to adjust his tie; it was a nervous tick of his she knew well.
Without realizing, she’s smiling gently at him. For once, Peko allows herself to be in the moment. She let’s herself be.
“Well then, I am in your care, Fuyuhiko.”

Could do a thing where fuyu, hajime, nagito, and hanamura meet a childhood crush and the boys wanting to rekindle a romance with them?
Tumblr media
This is just adorable! I’m on it! Took alot of time though ( /0 w 0)/
Fuyuhiko,Hajime,Nagito and Teruteru meeting their childhood crush!
Hajime Hinata
When you and Hajime split up into your own paths when you guys were younger really did break his little child self’s heart
He never got a chance to confess his true feelings to you, well he was much to nervous to even lash out his love towards you
Once he had grown older he started thinking about you all the time, about all the great moments you two have had
But those moments were never going to come back at least that what he had thought
A new neighbor was moving and Hajime wanted to make a good first impression since that’s what he always tries to do whenever he meets someone new
But you were one certain person that made him REALLY nervous
He walked over to the neighbors house and rang the doorbell, after a few minutes Hajime began to feel that nobody is home and just about when he was gonna leave he heard the door fling open
He was a little bit caught off surprise over how the door was opened. And Hajime began to introduce himself
“Uh hi! I’m Hajime Hinata and I’m your new neighbor! Nice you meet you” you looked into his face and see how nervous he was and began to introduce yourself
“I’m y/n! It’s nice to meet you to!” Your name quickly got Hajime off guard and he asked a question to really confirm if it was you “is it y/n l/n?” You nodded your head
“Yeah that’s me! And you must be that guy Hajime from my childhood!” He quickly blushed a little after hearing your words, you looked so different and so much cuter
He didn’t say that out loud though in fear of the moment getting really awkward
Hajime was overjoyed to see you after all these years, he never showed physical affection like a tight hug or anything like that
After the little reunion you and Hajime talked a bit of the funniest and most embarrassing things you two did as a kid and oh boy was he in a blushing mess
Soon enough Hajime started doing a little bit of physical affection like holding your hand or giving you warm hugs every now and then and to you it meant he had a little crush on you
After a long time of you two staying as close friends Hajime built up the courage to confess his love to you he never did it earlier because of the fear of being friend zoned or completely rejected
It took a lot of stuttering and long  pauses for him to say the full thing but it was adorable seeing his attempt and you happily accepted his confession while giving him a tight and warm hug.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
You and Fuyuhiko surprisingly got along really well as children, though harmless insults like “dummy” or “idiot” flew out of his little kid self quite often you still cared about him nonetheless
Of course nothing lasts forever and you two were forced into your own paths and your friendship died down
Your parents thought it was dangerous to hang out with a yakuza so you weren’t allowed to play with him anymore
Not that he wanted that to happen since he had developed romantic feelings during that period
He saw you in  a bakery Fuyuhiko only went there to go get some fried dough cookies since he didn’t have any in awhile
Something caught his eye, and it was a good thing it looked like you but all grown up he didn’t think it was actually you though.
A little blush appeared on his face he thought that he had feelings for you so why was he even blushing?
Your name was written on the bag and as you were walking away from the cashier Fuyuhiko got a good look at your bag, it was your first name
Fuyuhiko built up the confidence to go up and speak to you, if it wasn’t actually his childhood sweetheart he’d leave the bakery in complete embarrassment
So he walked up to you, while also taking quick pauses to recap his thoughts “is that really y/n? She looks so f**king different”
He tapped on your shoulder and you turned around a bit confused for the sudden interruption
“A - are you y/n l/n?” he seemed to be blushing which made you ever so slightly curious why
His face looked so familiar  to a childhood friend you had long ago
“Uh yeah I am! Why ask?” Fuyuhiko almost froze. It was really his crush
Though he did think that you’ll most likely not remember him “I’m Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu” that name made you light up and gave him a hug. Which never helped get rid of his blush
You  let go of him to end and the hug and you two walked out of the bakery while talking about the great times you both used to have
But Fuyuhiko still wanted your relationship to be alot more then what is just given now
Over time Fuyuhiko built up alot of courage after talking to you often and he thought that he could maybe have a chance
It was sunset and Fuyuhiko confessed when nobody else was around to avoid embarrassment of course the confession couldn’t be complete without one or two curses coming out of his mouth
You happily accepted by giving a small kiss on his cheek, enough to make him go in a blushing mess.
Nagito Komaeda
You were the only one who Nagito hung out with as a kid, you always played with his dog together and did various other things people that age  would normally do
His bad luck eventually struck and you two were separated and all little Nagito could do was blame himself. Falling into an endless void of despair
He really wished that you knew how much you meant to him
While he was growing up he always wondered the real reason why you left reasons like
“y/n probably got sick of my trashy existence that’s why she left, I just wish I could die of self loathing”
Of course none of that was any close to the truth but he continued to blame himself anyways.
Nagito always thought about how you were doing and your living a much more sparkling life without him.
The luck cycle he was trapped in never made his life any better, the tragic events he was forced to go through damaged his self esteem more then anything
Though his good luck struck again and that was seeing you after so long
You were just sitting by the bench at the park lost in your own world and would only find your way back when someone snapped you out of it. Nagito recognized you and he was a little surprised
He really thought that it was you right there nobody could look that similar to another only if they were twins and that’s what floated in his head
He sat beside you and for some reason that snapped you out of it because of the sudden movement you felt. You looked at each side and then you locked your eyes with Nagito
You instantly thought that it was your childhood friend from years back, Nagito seemed to have noticed you expression and started to talk a little
“Sorry for the interruption but are you y/n l/n? You don’t have to answer  and I apologize for that lame interruption”
His choice of words matched perfectly from  what he used to always say back in childhood so that was enough to put the pieces together.
“Yeah I am, you must be Nagito then right?” After letting him hear those words Nagito first had a surprised expression and then it morphed into a more calm happy one
After the small introductions Nagito began to talk a little about what recently happened in his life and how his luck cycle was responsible for it
The conversation was pretty long since there was so  much that had happened  in your lives, and Nagito built up a little bit of confidence to hold your hand.
The sudden movement gave a little shock but you enjoyed the courage he had, and the feeling felt nice so you held onto his hand too
You were pretty surprised that he never made any comment on the gesture that he did
Teruteru Hanamura
Even at a young age Teruteru loved talking about cooking and how he wanted to be a top quality chef when he’s older, you always encouraged him to do so and that you’ll eat anything he gives you
You know? What little kids would say when they want to encourage somebody. Somehow Teruteru developed a crush on you but never lashed out his feelings
But nothing lasts forever and you guys were separated for a long long time. Teruteru always thought about your encouraging words and how much enjoyment  you two used to always have.
You Teruteru had your reunion in a place nobody else would really expect in the groceries store ik this is random but trust me
He pretty much made a trip over there to prepare for his newest dish and realized that he didn’t have the ingredients
You were pretty much there to go pick up something that you wanted/needed and you saw someone who was really small and had a chefs hat
So many thoughts were going through your head if he was really the one person from your childhood, you kinda waited for him to notice you instead
When Teruteru was finished in one aisle he turned over to your side to go get the remaining ingredients but instead his eyes was greeted by you
He pretty much stood there trying to get things sorted out was it really you?
You gave a little wave and smile to him and that was just enough to make a little tint of red appear on his face
Deep down he knew it was you but way too nervous to say something “h - hey y/n!” Frightened that he might’ve gotten the wrong person he started sweating and fidgeted with his fingers
“Hey Teruteru”
He stopped it was really you! He was ecstatic to see you but didn’t show it too much
You looked so different and he really loved it and immediately started having fantasies but eventually snapped out of those thoughts after you shook his shoulders
After Teruteru got all the ingredients he asked if you’d like to come over to have dinner and you enthusiastically agreed to his offer
When he got back, Teruteru tried making the dish perfect and up to your expectations
You finally made your grand entrance and Teruteru was really enthusiastic to talk about everything that had recently been happening in his life and also listened to what you had to say
As expected from the ultimate chef the food was appetizing and you enjoyed it to the fullest which made him overjoyed.
Though he still really wanted to be something much more then friends

This is my take on like a rewrite of sorts on that Nagito spinoff with the long name that ties into this AU I have where Junko is the protagonist of DR2 and the ultimate hope so a lot is different but I hope you all like this anyway.
SDR 2.5
Nagito P.O.V.
I woke up tired and sluggish as always, would today be another day of me going through an endless cycle of bad and good luck? I certainly hope not but I won’t be surprised if that’s exactly what happens. I sighed getting out of bed and getting ready for school.
Once I was dressed and had my bag all ready to go I left the house beginning my morning walk. Today was nice but I was still a little wary because I knew at any second now something bad was going to happen to me. It was unavoidable that I was going to face some type of misfortune today.
I walked through the school gates in shock. What? Nothing happened? That can’t be right... Oh no that must mean something really bad is going to happen at the worst moment possible. Damn it! I was too caught up in my thoughts about what could be getting ready to happen to me I didn’t even notice someone bumped into my back.
They let out “Ow!”
Huh? Did something just hit me? I turned around to see a girl rubbing her head, she had one long blond ponytail with a red and white bow and a bunny hair clip in her hair. She was wearing our school’s uniform so she must go here I’m guessing she’s a second year. She’s really cute... I didn’t even notice I was staring at her.
She stopped rubbing her head looking back at me. It was a few minutes of silence and a very awkward stare-down. She bowed slightly furiously apologizing “S-Sorry for bumping into you! I really didn’t mean to I was just running so fast and didn’t even bother to look at what was in front of me I’m sorry once again...”
There was something about her energy I couldn’t quite place it but it was very attractive. If I had to use a word to describe her I would say pure. What’s her talent I wonder. I smiled “It’s okay no need to feel bad, I’m not mad in the slightest.”
She let out a relieved sigh “Thank goodness.” She asked “You’re a second year right? I see you around sometimes and have always wanted to talk to you but I was way too shy... I’m glad I get to now.” She looked away from me as she talked a slight blush on her face like she was embarrassed to say those words.
Her words made me blush as well and for some reason made my attraction grow. I nodded “Y-Yeah I am. F-Feel free to stop by my class anytime I would love to talk to you as well.” I held out my hand for a shake “My name is Nagito Komaeda I’m the ultimate lucky student.”
She shook my hand back holding onto it “My name is Junko Enoshima I’m the ultimate hope.”
Did she just say the ultimate hope...? I asked “Can you say your talent again?”
She repeated it for me “I’m the ultimate hope.”
No way I’m this fucking lucky to meet the ultimate hope! And she has an interest in me?! This has got to be a joke or a prank or something!! This is way too good to be real! I let out a dry laugh “Ah okay I see what’s going on now. Someone asked you to do this right? They told you to play a prank on me. I’ll admit you got me good I almost believed you really wanted to be my friend.” I should’ve known I wouldn’t be that lucky...
She shook her head not letting go of my hand “N-No that’s not true at all! The truth is.. The truth is I have a crush on you...”
Huh...?
She continued “I bumped into you on purpose so I could have an excuse to talk to you. I really like you Senpai I’m sorry for not being honest.”
...Is this real? This has got to be a dream or something. I just couldn’t believe she was telling me the truth. I asked “You’re serious? You really like me?”
She nodded shyly “Y-Yeah that’s the truth.”
I grabbed her arm pulling her in for a hug “Please marry me, I want you to be my wife.”
I heard her gasp “Y-You’re serious?!”
I nodded “Dead serious.”
For awhile she said nothing, her silence started to worry me. What if I came on too strong? What if she doesn’t really like me like that? Maybe I should take back my words... Damn it it’s just like me to screw everything up! She’s probably creeped out and won’t ever talk to me again...
I felt her hug me back “I’d like that...”
What?! N-No way! She didn’t just agree that easily did she?
She looked into my eyes a smile on her face “You’re cute and I don’t know why but I really like you. You’re someone I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my life with as embarrassing as that sounds.”
Ahh if this is a dream don’t wake me up because I have everything I could ever need right here with her...
I felt really lightheaded and my body felt weighed down I had a pounding headache it was a struggle to even open my eyes...
I heard a voice say “I think he’s waking up.”
Who is that? They sound so familiar... I slowly opened my eyes. As they adjusted to the light and came into focus I was able to recognize “Junko?!” I called completely shocked.
She smiled at me her hand gently caressed my cheek “Hey sleepy boy.” She let out a laugh “You slept so long I almost thought I would have to kiss you Snow White.”
I let out a small chuckle asking “What happened...? I could’ve swore we were just at school...”
She helped me up out of the pod having me lean most of my weight on her as I tried to stand up “Easy there. You’ve been sleeping for a long time give your legs time to adjust.”
Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I nodded wrapping my arms around her body as I tried to steady myself.
She said “To answer your question you’ve been sleeping for quite awhile now in fact you were the last to wake up. Anything you just experienced before you woke up was a dream.”
It was all a dream...? So none of that was real? That means I didn’t ask her to marry me... I asked “Well how did we all suddenly wake up? After I learned the truth about the simulation I...” I stopped talking, a jolt of pain rushed through my head as I tried to recall the memories of my “death”.
She noticed saying “Hey, hey take it easy don’t hurt yourself trying to remember all of that okay?”
I gave a nod.
She said “After the class trial we had for your death we decided to find out the truth of the game. We discovered the mastermind and confronted him together because of that we were able to win the game.”
She took a pause continuing “What we didn’t realize is that you all were still alive so me and the others spent all our time trying to wake you up. But you took the longest for some reason.”
Letting out a sigh she finished “Watching you sleep was torture for me. I was so worried that you wouldn’t wake up I almost thought about forcibly removing you from your pod but that would’ve been too dangerous.”
Why was she so worried about me? It made me embarrassed to think about especially because of the dream I had. I thanked her “Well I appreciate you being there for me. Waking up to see you was a wonderful surprise.”
She tried to look away so I wouldn’t see the faint blush on her cheeks “It’s n-nothing I’m glad you’re happy I w-wanted to see you too.”
She did?! Then c-could that mean my dream may be able to be real?
I heard her say “Now let’s get you outside to the boat we shouldn’t be here any longer.”
Yeah this place creeps me out... When we walked outside we got many happy greetings from our classmates and a few people teasing us.
Fuyuhiko let out a sigh “Now that the bastard is awake Junko can finally stop fucking crying every night.”
She was crying over me?
Junko went red replying “I d-didn’t cry that much! O-Only a few times...”
Now I felt embarrassed! How can someone as perfect as her cry over someone like me?
Kazuichi gave us a thumbs up “Well I support you two. I call being your best man Nagito.” He folded his hands behind his back giving a laugh.
Akane grinned “I support the wedding because then I get to eat lots of yummy food! Hurry up and get married already!”
That made Togami retort “I will not let you eat more than me Owari! I demand the wedding be tomorrow so I have ample time to prepare.”
Junko was too embarrassed to say a single thing. So it was on me to put a stop to this. I motioned with my hand for them to stop “Guys, guys enough I just woke up a few minutes ago isn’t it a little soon to talk about things like that?”
That seemed to quiet everyone for now, but knowing that a wedding between me and Junko was on their minds made being around them awkward. I looked at Junko asking “Should we go to a more private place?”
She just nodded taking me more towards the back of the ship. Once there I let out “Finally we’re alone we have a lot to talk about don’t-“
But I couldn’t finish my sentence because she blurted out “I love you!”
Huh...? I just blinked my eyes in surprise asking “Are you sure about that?”
She looked down squeezing her hands tightly “I am... I want to be with you Nagito… Forever...”
Forever?! She wants to be with someone like me for the rest of her life? I asked “Why? You’re the ultimate hope and I’m a no one I have nothing I could offer you so why choose someone as useless as me?”
She grabbed my hands looking into my eyes “Because you’re not useless. Having your love would mean everything to me so if you’re willing to have me I’d like to be with you.”
This has gotta be another dream right? I’m going to wake up any second or something. I asked her “Can you prove to me this is real?”
She giggled leaning in “Yes I can.” She stood on her toes pressing her lips to mine.
W-Woah she’s kissing me! Th-This is real! I kissed her back gripping her hands tighter. I love her so much.
She broke the kiss asking “Is that proof enough for you?” Her cheeks had a light pink tint to them.
I nodded shyly “Y-Yeah that was perfect.” It was quiet I don’t think either of us knew what to say. I mean I could ask her to marry me but should I? What if she doesn’t accept? Hmm... It was a hard decision to make but I decided to take a chance after all I’m lucky right? This should work out.
I took my hands out of hers wrapping them around her body as I hugged her tightly to myself “Junko... Let’s get married.”
I heard her gasp but then I felt her hug me back “I was beginning to think you’d never ask. I would love to marry you Nagito you’re the only one for me.”
You’re the only one for me too.
We heard cheers and applause from our classmates and just now realized they were watching our affectionate confession this whole time...
Sonia put her hands together in happiness “You two are like a real fairytale prince and princess!”
Ibuki cheered “Ibuki is gonna DJ at the wedding woohoo!!!”
Mahiru snapped a picture “I have to say they do look good together.”
Hiyoko stuck her tongue out “Who cares about their shitty wedding let’s just leave this shithole island already.”
Gundam proudly announced “I Gundam Tanaka lord of the ice will be the dark priest to officiate your wedding. It will be a ceremony from Hell!!”
Umm... I laughed awkwardly “Thanks for the support guys...”
Junko grabbed my hand smiling at me “Let’s make a hopeful future together Nagito.”
I kissed her head “I wouldn’t want anything else Junko.”

{SDR2/TFWSiHE} - Hello Again My Love
As she hoped and dreamed, they decided that they would take fate into their own hands and with that decision they – with the help of her two lead programmers, Sonia, Nagito, Tskumi, Hiyoko, Fuyuhiko and Hajime – would chose to hard reset the New World Program.
One by one, they would return to reality with memories of their time in the program and their memories of the time they were manipulated into becoming tools of Super High School Level Despair.
It would turn to be quite a surprise that the last to awaken would be Hajime Hinata.
His vision is muddled and green hued for a while before a hiss fills the air. The ceiling above him lifts up and a person enters his field of vision. They remind him of Komadea but… they have a completely different air around them.
“Ah! Hajime-san!” The cheery voice greets him. “You’re awake! Khrystie-san has been waiting for you to join your friends!”
Khrystie.
Yes. That’s right. The girl who fell in love with him and continued to love him even as he became Izuru Kamukura. The woman who swore to return to him one day and help him find himself once again.
“Where… is she?” His voice cracks and legs shake as he stands from it not being used for the last month. The young man smiles and takes one of Hinata’s hands and uses his others to support the young man.
“She is waiting in the washroom.” Hinata’s face glows red.
“W-w-what?”
“Oh, because you and your friends were so weak after being in sleep for so long she has taken the duty to help clean you all up. Are you nervous?” Clear asks with a light laugh. “She’s seen a male body before. Besides, the two of you are in a relationship, correct? You would of seen each other’s bodies in time.
Well, yes, that was true, but, isnt this… a little too soon?
The young man clearly thinks otherwise as he leads Hinata to the washroom. Khrystie is there, dressed in a white bikini and swimshorts, she seems to be messing with an item on top of a stack of towels. It takes her a moment to realize she’s not alone.
“Ah, Hajime. I’m glad to see you awake.” She smiles happily. “Please, take a seat!” She motions to the stool in the middle of the bathroom floor, before a floor length mirror. The young man assists him over to the stool before excusing himself with a smile.
Hinata stares at his reflections, almost mesmerized by all the physical changes he’s gone through over the years. His hair has turned a shade of deep brown hair and his eyes… One has returned to it’s usual mute green…but one has remained an unusual red decorated with a target radar symbols and… he’s only wearing his underwear and a white shirt at the moment.
This is… horribly embarrassing…
The sudden sound of the snipping of scissors brings his attention back to Khrystie. “I’d like to cut your hair so it’s easier to manage, is that alright Hajime?”
“Y-yeah.” It would. As Izuru his hair grew to incredible lengths and it would touch the floor, even drag across it. Khrystie nods her head at his answer and motions to the stool on the floor of the bathroom. Hinata awkwardly takes a seat on the stool as she requests.
Khrystie takes a pair of towels under her arm and stands behind Hinata. She places one towel directly behind the stool and drapes the other one around Hinata’s shoulders.
And so, the blonde begins to get to work. She simply begins with chopping Hinata’s long hair to his shoulders. It would be easier to work with at this length. Humming softly, she asks for him to tilt his head back. Hinata complies with her request, his cheeks flushing red as she gazes upon him with a warm and fond smile.
“Close your eyes.” She smiles. He follows through with her request, allowing her to pour water over his hair and then apply shampoo. Gentle, she rubs his scalp as she works, causing a sigh to escape from his lips. A few times her fingers get trapped in some knots or tangles.
Which, amusingly, prompts an apology from both sides. She quietly soothes his worries, reminding him during the end of the world it’s not like he had access to a number of hygiene products, which makes him furrow his brows.
“…You’ve changed a lot.”
“We did part way ten years ago, Hajime.” She smiles. His cheeks flush at the use of his first name once more. “And we didn’t exactly have much time to talk on the boat ride over to the island since I was busy running the test run of my program.”
“… I still cant believe you were really thirteen when we first met.” He murmurs after several moments of silence. “How did you even sneak into Hope’s Peak High School program?”
“One of my co-workers is good at forging documents and… tweaking memories.”
“Altering Memories…? So, a god can actually do that kind of stuff?” He questions once she pours water over his hair, washing the soap from it. Tilting his head forward, she takes another towel and pats his hair down to make it dry enough to work with.
“It’s not really her skill or job for that matter, Mnemosyne Beta is able to look into the eyes of a person and record the history of their past life…” Khrystie explains, running the comb through his hair and trimming the strands at the end of the comb’s teeth. “but in the process of doing so, she strips the soul of their memories to make them a blank slate for their new life… its to make sure a person does not feel they have to live up to or surpass who they once were.”
“‘S not really relevant. She forges papers for me and tweaks memories to get me into schools or places close to the target so I can carry out a job.”
“So were you short because of age or was it really genetics?” Hinata is giving her a smug look in the mirror. She pouts, reaching around to tug on his cheeks.
“Both.” She sighs. “Apparently, my ‘mother’s reincarnated family is exactly the same as it was in her human lifetime, so, when she created me pulled the same genetic coding from her reincarnated family to make me blend in…”
“All I ever was… was a doll to her… not a child that she gave life to… not something real. ..  .and alive…” The thought of it made her hands shake. She always tells herself that she’s over this. Accepted that The Lady didn’t care about her… but there’s always some part of her that felt grief about all of that.
Lost in her own thoughts, she didnt even notice Hajime turned to her until he pulled her into his arms.
“You’re your own person…not her anything.“
“I know…” She murmurs, letting the scissors and comb falls from her hands in order to wrap her arms tightly around Hinata. “I’m my own person able to make their own decision and to take action… its because of those same reasons… I believed in you for all those years.“
