Share art/writing/films around Palestinian culture

If you're part of a union, ask them what they're doing to urge their industry leaders to take a stand against Israel + pressure the White House OR urge them to start a strike/walkout/etc if they're not doing anything already

Talk with your friends IRL about Palestine, whether in an activist capacity or watching a movie or literally anything

Reach out to a mosque to see if you can help them with anything

See if your city/state council has put out a statement in support of Gazans. If not, try to push them to do so.

Donate to Palestine Legal or Direct Action if you have some money to spare

I know some of these don't feel like they have as big of an impact on helping Palestinians, but we do need to make an effort not to forget their humanity in the face of continued erasure and the media's sensationalist rhetoric.

Talking on social media and posting—while not seeming like a lot—does SO much. I know in USAmerica, it's like yelling into a void, but political analysts are saying that most of the "Global South" has completely lost any amount of goodwill it may have had the past few years. Hopefully, countries will start to put sanctions and embargoes en masse on the US and Israel soon.

Our goals here are BOTH short-term and long-term. We hope for the life and liberation of the Palestinian people, so anything that you can think of might help at some point in the future is encouraged to at least try.

Here's what's going on in Ohio right now. Heavy stuff ahead.

First, I want to apologize for the misinformation in my original post. I am still learning about legislative processes. To correct: the changes to ODH and OMHAS in regards to gender therapy are not a bill, they are changes in regulations.

This is important because citizens CAN affect rule changes. There is an open commentary period where your submissions get counted and can affect how they write new regulations.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, legal advocate, or medical professional. I'm just a dude who had to have it all explained to me.

The first one is Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services. The rules proposed would make the already prohibitive process of gender transition even harder. In order to diagnose and treat gender dysphoria, a hospital needs to have a board certified psychologist per patient, a board certified endocrinologist familiar with the age group being diagnosed per patient, and a medical ethicist overseeing the hospital's plan for transition. 'Board certified' does not guarantee that the specialist is trans-friendly. It must include a detransition plan. Hospitals would have to report compliance annually. The professionals must have a contractual relationship with the patient, but do not need to offer in-person care. (In this instance, I'll get to that in the next rule change.)

This rule also deems it impermissible to prescribe gender transition care (this includes hormones, puberty blockers, or drugs) for anyone under the age of 21 without the approval of the professionals mentioned and 6 months of therapy.

There is an exception for intersex people, who may have their sex assigned to them without their consent.

The open comment period for this ends January 19 at 5pm.

Send an email to MH-SOT-rules@mha.ohio.gov with the subject title: "Comments on Gender Transition Care Rules."

The second one is Ohio Department of Health and it repeats a lot of the same as the first one. However, the focus is more on the regulation of doctors and paperwork. Anyone seeking transition will be put into a registry with their name redacted, but demographics like age, agab, specific diagnosis (difficult to achieve with the new regulations mentioned above), and any medications (not just related to gender transition, but any medications at all). Any cessation of care must be reported within 30 days.

This is a lot of paperwork and can overburden hospitals.

That 30 days cessation is important because if a person transfers doctors or if a clinic closes and the paperwork isn't filed, it may count as a 'detransition' when tallying demographics, even if that is not the case.

But what's curious is that the ODH regulations DO require in-person care. The rules are contradictory and vague.

Lewis Hamilton and Y/n Y/l/n are a couple that is known for being ‘private but not a secret’. The iconic eight time Grammy winner and seven time World Driver’s Champion winning duo are quite protective of their relationship, the pair will proudly show off each other and parade around hand in hand, but they’d often avoid revealing intimate details on their love.

Last night, however, possibly one of their most intimate moments was leaked by an anonymous user on twitter. The now deleted account had tweeted out a link to a video that was uploaded to google drive, the two hour forty five minute video was a sex tape filmed by the couple in their shared Monaco home.

Though both stars’ PR Teams have both issued statements regarding the leaked tape, they personally haven’t commented on it, nor have they been active on Twitter, or any other social media. “Hamilton’s” statement condemns the person who leaked the video; “It is extremely disrespectful and a complete invasion and violation of privacy. No once should find themselves in such position”.

The statement put out by Y/l/n’s estate was much more harsh; “A police report has been made and we will be taking legal action against the person who leaked the video. What was done was a crime and the criminal will be facing the consequences of their actions soon”.

In the past 24 hour period the video is said to have been viewed over 44 million times and the views are only increasing. Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to having intimate tapes leaked, but Y/n Y/l/n sure is the amateur in this situation. What’s your opinion on this entire ordeal?

Yemeni, Iranian, and Palestinian authorities have spoken out in support of US university students and faculty members who have been targeted by brutal police repression for the past two weeks during mobilizations calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza. The leader of Yemen's ruling Ansarallah movement, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, said during a speech on 25 April that the US government “does not respect their laws, their constitution, or any headlines they raise and brag about,” stressing that there is a “concerted effort” from Washington to silence a movement that “has begun to wake up to the horror of what is happening in occupied Palestine.” “With the demonstrations and sit-ins at prominent US universities, the US support for the Israeli enemy became clear, as authorities dealt with the demonstrations and protests … in a bad manner that goes beyond all considerations,” the Yemeni resistance leader added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also condemned the crackdown witnessed across several universities. “The suppression and violent treatment of the American police and security forces against professors and students protesting the genocide and war crimes of the Israeli regime in various universities of the United States is deeply worrying,” Iran's top diplomat said via social media, adding that this repression is an extension of “Washington's full-fledged support for the Israeli regime and clearly shows the double standard policy and contradictory attitude of the American government towards freedom of expression.”

In Palestine, officials from Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), as well as student organizations in the Gaza Strip, issued statements supporting the grassroots movement that has taken over about two dozen university campuses in the US. “We, the students of Gaza, salute the students of Columbia University, Yale University, New York University, Rutgers University, the University of Michigan, and dozens of universities across the United States who are rising in solidarity with Gaza and to put an end to the Zionist–US genocide against our people in Gaza,” a statement from students organizations in Gaza reads. “From here in Gaza, we see you and salute you. Your actions and activism matter, especially in the heart of the empire, in the United States … It is clear that a new generation is rising that will no longer accept Zionism, racism, and genocide and that stands with Palestine and our liberation from the river to the sea,” the statement adds. For their part, the PFLP called on Palestinian and Arab students to “rise for Gaza following the example of American universities.” “Palestinian and Arab universities must take the initiative and break the barrier of silence, following the example of American universities which have ignited an intifada within the campus for the victory of the blood of our Palestinian people, and in rejection of the continuing American support for the zionist entity,” the PFLP statement reads. In a similar vein, Hamas politburo member Izzat al-Rishq said that the government of US President Joe Biden “violates individual rights and the right to expression, and arrests university students and faculty members because they reject the genocide that our Palestinian people are subjected to in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the neo-Nazi Zionists, without the slightest feeling of shame about the legal value represented by the students and university professors.” “The Biden administration, which is a partner in the brutal war on our Palestinian people, does not want to acknowledge that [the US public has] discovered the truth about the Nazi entity and is siding with human values and standing on the right side of history. The news has been all over what happened in Chicago. Her phone was constantly blowing up from calls from family and friends as well as fans sending well wishes. The media frenzy only added to the stress.

After long talks with her team and several tearful conversations with Jack, Maryse decided to pause all of her upcoming performances and appearances until something was done with the stalker. It wasn’t an easy decision, and she did try to fight it but her safety and well-being had to come first. Her team would put out an official statement later but she wanted her fans to hear it from her mouth first.

After posting on Instagram, Maryse sat on the couch scrolling through endless news articles and social media post about what happened. Her eyes were red from crying, and the stress of it all was weighing heavily on her. Every headline seemed to scream at her, making the situation feel even more overwhelming.

When Jack walked in the room, noticing the expression on her face as she scrolled through her phone, he gently took the phone from her hands and quickly turned it off.

“Hey!”

“Reading all this isn’t doing you any good.”

Maryse looked up at him, her eyes filled with sadness. “I know, but I can’t help it. I just… I need to know what people are saying.”

Jack sat down beside her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her close. “I get it, but it’s only going to make you feel worse.”

She sighed, leaning her head against his chest. “You’re right. It’s just so hard. I hate that this is happening. I mean, I was going to announce the first single and then my album next week. This couldn’t have happened at a worst time..”

He kissed the top of her head. “I know, babe. But your safety is the most important thing. Your fans will understand. Everything will go back to normal in a couple months, I’m sure.”

Days later, Jack and Maryse decided it was time to take more serious measures. They contacted the police to report the crazed fan who had jumped on stage during her performance in Chicago. As they sat in their living room, waiting for the officer on the other end of the phone to speak, Maryse's hand trembled slightly in Jack’s grip.

“Ma’am, because the individual didn’t physically touch you, we can’t detain him at this time,” the officer explained. “However, you can file for a restraining order.”

Jack’s grip on Maryse’s hand tightened, his frustration boiling over. “A piece of paper isn’t going to keep her safe!” he snapped.

Maryse rubbed Jack’s leg to try to get him to calm down as he continued to argue about the restraining order.

The officer’s voice remained calm but firm. “I understand your concern, sir. While a restraining order isn’t a physical barrier, it’s a legal one that gives us grounds to take further action if he violates it. It also makes it easier to pursue criminal charges if necessary.”

Jack ran a hand through his messy curls, irritated. “Fine. We’ll get the restraining order. We just can’t let this happen again.”

After ending the call, Maryse sat quietly for a moment, knowing Jack was upset. She leaned in, resting her head on his shoulder. “It’s going to be okay,” she told him.

He wrapped his arm around her, kissing the top of her head. The weight of the situation hanging heavily between them. “If anything ever happened to you, I would never forgive myself. I can’t even imagine losing you. You’re everything to me.” Jack’s voice cracked as he spoke.

Maryse squeezed his hands tightly. “Nothing’s going to happen to me.”

Jack shook his head slightly, the fear still in his eyes. “I know you believe that, but a restraining order just isn’t enough. I need to do more to protect you. I can’t just sit back and hope everything will be okay. I need to make sure you’re safe.”

She leaned in, resting her forehead against his. “We’ll figure it out. We’ll take all the necessary steps. But you can’t blame yourself for any of this. It’s not your fault, Jack.”

He pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her as if he could shield her from all the dangers in the world. “I love you so much. I’m going to do everything in my power to keep you safe. I promise.”

“I love you too,” she whispered, as a pang of guilt ran through her knowing how this situation was affecting Jack.

Weeks have passed since the restraining order had been issued but the tension in their home hadn’t lessened. Jack was still on edge, constantly checking in with Maryse.

As they were winding down after dinner, Jack pulled out his phone and started typing.

“What are you doing?” Maryse asked softly, already suspecting the answer.

“Calling Neelam, I’m canceling my appearance at the festival in Vancouver,” he said without looking up. “I need to be here with you.”

“No,” she protested, walking over and gently taking his phone from his hands. “You can’t cancel. I’ll be fine.”

Jack looked at her, frustration and concern battling in his eyes. “You’ve hardly slept in weeks! You’re constantly looking over your shoulder when we’re out. I can’t leave you alone right now.”

Maryse grabbed his face with both hands, “I know you’re worried, but I can’t have you cancel an event for me. I won’t leave this house, I’ll be careful.”

“But what if something happens?” Jack asked, his voice cracking slightly.

“Nothing’s going to happen,” she insisted, trying to sound more confident than she felt. “I’ll call you every single day.”

Jack’s shoulders slumped as he sighed. “I just… I can’t stand the thought of something happening to you while I’m not here.”

Maryse wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. “I know. I don’t want this person controlling our lives more than he already has. I had to put some things on hold right now, but I can’t have that happen to you as well. It’s going to be okay.”

He hugged her tightly, resting his chin on her head. “Okay. I’ll go. But if you need anything, you call me immediately. And I mean anything.”

Maryse crawled into bed while on the phone with Jack, she could hear the exhaustion in his voice.

“I’m coming home a day early.”

She smiled, though she knew the real reason behind his decision. “You miss me that much, huh?”

“Of course, da fuckkkk” Jack said with a click of his tongue.

Maryse busted out laughing, head falling into the pillow on her bed to muffle her laughs. She couldn’t see him but she knew he had a shit eating grin.

“Jack, please don’t ever say that again!” Maryse said in between her giggles.

“What? I can’t say I miss you and KUNTucky?”

She fell out laughing again. “Stop, please, I can't take it! You’re trying to distract me from the reason why you’re coming home early.”

“I just need to see you, and make sure for myself that you’re fine.” Jack said softly into the phone.

“I appreciate it,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “I really do. And I miss you too. But you don’t have to cut your trip short for me.”

“Yes, I do,” he insisted gently. “Because you mean more to me than anything else.”

“You’re the best.” Maryse told him softly.

“Yeah, that’s what they say, Now get some rest, okay? I’ll be home soon.”

“Okay,” she agreed. “Safe travels.”

“Goodnight,” he whispered.

“Goodnight,” she replied, hanging up the phone and heading to bed, feeling a bit more at ease knowing he’d be back sooner than expected.

She had only been asleep for a few hours when she heard a loud noise that jolted her awake. Maryse almost ignored it until she heard the house alarm ringing throughout the home.

Maryse bolted right up, immediately grabbing her phone off the charger. Her mind started to race as she tried to make sense of what was happening. She quickly got out of bed and headed towards the alarm system to turn it off.

As she approached the living room, her blood ran cold. In the dimly lit room, stood the fan from the mall, and the concert. His eyes were just as wild as they were when he jumped the stage, and he wore a deranged smile.

Maryse’s fight or flight response kicked in. Without thinking, she turned on her heel and sprinted towards the back door. She flung open the door and dashed outside running as far away from the house as she could, her hands shaking as she dialed 911.

“911, what’s your emergency?”

“There’s someone in my house!” Maryse sobbed, her voice trembling. “Please, hurry! He’s inside, and I’m outside. I’m so scared.”

“Stay on the line with me,” the operator instructed. “Help is on the way. Can you see him right now?”

“No,” Maryse replied, her eyes darting around the dark backyard. “I ran out the back door. I don’t know where he is.”

“Okay, stay where you are and try to stay hidden,” the operator said soothingly. “The police are on their way. Do you have any place you can hide outside?”

She looked around, spotting a large tree and some bushes that offered a bit of cover. “I’m hiding behind a tree,” she whispered, crouching down and trying to control her sobs. “Please, tell them to hurry.”

“They’re on their way,” the operator reassured her. “Stay on the line with me. You’re doing great.”

The minutes felt like hours as she sat and waited, her heart pounding in her chest.

She kept her eyes fixed on the back door, terrified that the fan would come after her. The sound of sirens in the distance finally brought a glimmer of hope. She heard the screech of tires as police cars arrived, their flashlights cutting through the darkness.

“I’m right here!” She called out, her voice shaky.

An officer quickly found her, guiding her back to the front of the house where more police were entering. “You’re safe now,” he said gently. “We’ll take care of this.”

Maryse nodded, her whole body was trembling. As she looked towards the house, officers emerged with the fan in handcuffs. His manic smile was replaced with a look of defeat.

“We’re going to take you to the police station to get your statement, okay?”

“Thank you,” She whispered to the officer beside her, tears streaming down her face.

When they got to the police station, the harsh fluorescent lights did little to calm her nerves. Maryse sat in a small room, her fingers trembling as she held a cup of water the officer had given her. Every creak and murmur made her jump.

When she arrived she had immediately called Jack, who was unfortunately just boarding his flight home. She knew that had to feel like the longest flight of his life.

Maryse's anxiety grew as she waited for Jack to arrive. She kept glancing at the door, hoping to see him walk through it. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the door swung open, and Jack rushed in, face flushed red with worry.

The moment their eyes met, Maryse broke down. She collapsed into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably. “He was in the house,” she cried, her voice muffled against his chest. “I was so scared.”

Jack held her tightly, his own emotions threatening to overwhelm him. “I’m here now,” he whispered, his voice shaking. “You’re safe. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there.”

She clung to him, her tears soaking his shirt. “I didn’t know what to do. He was just there, in our living room.”

Jack’s heart hurt hearing how scared she felt. He kissed the top of her head, trying to stay strong for her. “You’re safe now. I love you.”

The officer cleared his throat, gently reminding them that they needed to take her statement. Jack guided her to a chair, never letting go of her hand.

“Take your time,” the officer said kindly, offering her a tissue.

Maryse nodded, taking a deep breath. She told them everything, from the moment she heard the noise to her frantic escape out the back door. Jack listened intently, his jaw clenched, eyes flashing with anger for her.

Once she finished, the officer nodded. “Thank you. We’ll increase patrols around your house and make sure this individual is dealt with appropriately.” 

“Thank you,” she whispered.

They left the police station together, Jack keeping a protective arm around her. In the car, he glanced at her, his heart breaking at the sight of her tear-streaked face.

“Maryse…,” Jack said, guilt lacing his voice.

She immediately shook her head. “It’s not your fault, Jack. Please don’t sit here and blame yourself, okay?”

“I should’ve been there to protect you.” He said softly, his eyes brimming with tears.

Maryse reached out, touching his cheek gently. “Stop. Please. Let’s just go home.”

Jack nodded, swallowing hard. “Okay.”

They drove home in silence, both lost in their thoughts. When they pulled into the driveway Maryse’s anxiety spiked. The house, once a safe haven, now felt like a scene from a nightmare. Her hands trembled as she unbuckled her seatbelt, but she couldn’t bring herself to open the car door.

Jack noticed her hesitation and squeezed her hand gently. “Hey, it’s okay. We’re safe now,” he said softly, trying to reassure her.

She shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. “I can’t go back in there,” she whispered, her voice quivering. “Don’t make me go back in there.”

His heart broke at her words. He could see the fear etched on her face, and he knew she needed time to feel safe again. “Okay,” he said, making a quick decision. “We don’t have to. We’ll go to a hotel tonight.”

Maryse looked at him, relief flooding through her. “Really?”

“Really,” he confirmed, giving her a small, reassuring smile. “Let me just tell the security team.”

Jack stepped out of the car and spoke briefly with the security who were going to watch over their home. The team understood and assured him they would secure the house and stay on alert. He returned to the car and nodded at Maryse.

“We’re all set. Let’s go find a place to stay,” he said.

She nodded, her tension easing slightly as they drove away from the house. They found a nearby hotel, and Jack quickly arranged for a room. As they entered the hotel lobby, Maryse felt a little safer. 

Once they were in their room, Jack turned to her, concern still evident in his eyes. “Are you okay?” he asked softly.

She nodded, but her expression was still haunted. “Yeah, I just want to go to bed.”

Jack pulled her into his arms, knowing she was putting up a front and trying to be strong. “I love you.”

Maryse just held onto him tighter in response. 

Later, as they lay in bed, Jack held her close, whispering words of reassurance. He hated the fact that their lives had changed forever because of one fan’s obsession.

Some updates regarding the Dream situation on twitter, in effort to keep people on here informed.

The accuser in question, Amanda, went on a bit of a spree of activity on twitter and tik tok. This included a lot of very ill advised things including doxxing herself, tweeting at Keemstar to cover the situation (later retracted after I think she was told that Keemstar was not someone she wanted to get involved), and making a lot of tweets that brought up some more questions about what her claims specifically were and what evidence she had. An account that she confirmed to be her BF showed up and provided some further information that has made some of the prior claims confusing.

Finally, it seemed that someone offered her good advice. She stated that she didn't have any physical evidence of what took place, and that she was going to the police/to consult a lawyer about what to do. She's been largely silent on twitter since that occurred, her tik tok has deactivated, although it is unclear if she took it down or if it got mass reported or something. Her boyfriend's account on twitter has also deactivated.

In looking through her prior tik toks, someone found a previous video she posted in 2021 showing off dms on instagram that she claimed were from Dream. The dms are partially censored, but when lined up with the current dms claimed, they appear to match up. Importantly, between the two periods, at least three of her messages to Dream were deleted if both videos are assumed to be true. The entire conversation was rather dry, sporadic, and doesn't have much to it other than her asking him for advice on becoming a streamer, and finally the snapchat. It's important to note, that despite what some people have said, Dream said he believes the instagram dms to be real, he did not make any statement about the snapchat dms being real, fake, or somewhere in the middle.

Since then, there was some weirdness with a bunch of other accounts making unverified claims, that I am personally choosing to ignore until any of them provide literally any evidence.

One other account, someone called Bee, has very recently claimed to have gone to school with Amanda. They were able to post a yearbook page that appears to be of Amanda, including her full name (something she had already posted). They stated that Amanda had lied in the past about having sexual dms from Dream at their school, including creating fakes to show people. Bee said they don't know if the current instagram dms are real or not, but after they recognized Amanda, they wanted to put forward that she had done something similar like this in the past. Bee has not been able to/cannot prove that Amanda said these things, other than word of mouth, but they do appear to at least have a yearbook that contains Amanda's photo and name.

On Dream's side of things, he has made no further statements on the matter since his twitlonger. Assuming he has gotten in contact with lawyers, he's likely going to be silent about anything to do with this until such time as a court case is filed or his lawyers advise him otherwise. I would expect that to take awhile, particularly if dms have been deleted or removed.

As of this time, we have no statements from lawyers, and it will probably be awhile until we get those from either side.

I am personally still waiting for legal action until I cast any sort of judgement on this situation. The allegations could be true, or they could be false. Lawyers will be better suited to sort this situation out, and it does appear both sides have thankfully gotten lawyers involved. Nothing has been proven as of this point, and it will likely be awhile before we know anything as a matter of fact.

A campaign to enshrine abortion rights in Missouri’s constitution said Friday that it collected more than 380,000 signatures in just three months, more than twice the likely total needed to qualify for this year’s statewide ballot.  The coalition, called Missourians for Constitutional Freedom, is hoping to put on the November ballot a measure that would legalize abortion up to the point of fetal viability. Since June 2022, nearly every abortion has been illegal in the state with the exception of medical emergencies. 

In order to put a citizen-led constitutional amendment before voters, the campaign had to collect signatures from 8% of voters in six of Missouri’s eight congressional districts. That total equates to more than 171,000 signatures.  The campaign on Friday morning announced they officially turned in 380,159 signatures to the Missouri Secretary of State’s office. A breakdown of how many signatures came from each district, which will ultimately determine if they met the threshold needed to qualify, was not provided. But the coalition said they collected signatures from each of Missouri’s counties and congressional districts. “Hundreds of thousands of Missourians are now having conversations about abortion and reproductive freedom; some are sharing their own abortion stories for the very first time; and all are ready to do whatever it takes to win at the ballot box this year,” Mallory Schwarz, executive director of Abortion Action Missouri and spokesperson for Missourians for Constitutional Freedom, said in a statement. “Together, we are going to end Missouri’s abortion ban.”

A few candles are lit around, breaking dorm rules, but the cozy atmosphere could cause you less to care. In Sam’s major, there was no way to get out of the massive amounts of homework and manila folders that stacked on the counters. His hair is messy and drying against his forehead.

You're making a small thing of tea, dropping the camomile teabag into the Halloween inspired cup of steaming water. Sam barely pays any attention to what's around him as he stays practically glued to the screen displaying different types of legal actions. “Sam,” You call quietly, setting the cup on the table. With no reaction, you repeat it. “Sammy.”

He lifts his eyes for a second and flashes them quickly back to the screen. You roll your eyes and walk over to him. Sam turns his head and smiles at you before continuing to copy and write down different answers on college-ruled paper. “Hey, Sam. Chill for a moment. I made you chamomile tea, your favorite.”

His hands take the mug from your hands, and he gives you a kiss on the corner of your lips. Sam was never too extroverted, not too introverted. You're watching him, admiring more so, the way he concentrates. How a little wrinkle appears in the middle of his nose and forehead. It was the smaller things you loved about Sam that made him, him.

“When you become a lawyer, are you gonna have your face plastered everywhere?” Sam lifts his eyebrows at your statement and laughs while shaking his head. You curl into Sam’s side as he discards the paper and laptop to the other side of the couch. His arms pull you into his chest and you naturally fit and snuggle into him.

“No. I'll be so good, the police and everyone will recommend me. I won't even need ads or anything.” Sam plays along with your joke, and you give him a big smile. He smells like a mix of pumpkin spice, coffee, and his vanilla shampoo and conditioner. You kiss the tip of his nose and he lets out the smallest laugh.

“You better remember me when you're the best damn lawyer ever.”

Sam wraps his arms around you and lets his fingers enclose around each other. “I’ll never forget you. I’ll have a picture of you on my big, oak desk.” His lips connect with yours and you let your hand slide into his soft hair. You let your lips dance against each other while letting your thumb slide against his cheek.

“You better not.” You say and put your head in-between his shoulder and neck. You burrow into him and let yourself relax. You can hear his heart beating, the rise of his chest, and the sound of his breathing. “I love you, Sammy.”

Sam kisses his lips to your forehead, letting them stay for a second before pulling away. Sam’s eyes are closed, eyelashes against his cheek. Slow breaths and the large rising of his chest only signals one thing: Sam Winchester is asleep peacefully. You stare for a moment, watching the peace he has in the vulnerability of being asleep.

With a second of adjustment, you fall asleep against him as well. You kiss his collarbone with your lips, and they lie there as you sleep.

You had been unusually quiet all night, making Jimin increasingly worried. At first he thought maybe you weren’t feeling well, but as the evening pressed on, he could tell there was clearly something bothering you as you seemed to withdraw more and more into yourself.

“Will you please tell me what’s wrong?” He finally asked, coming to sit by you on the couch.

“I don’t know if I wanna say it.” You said, not meeting his eyes.

He took your hand. “It’s okay. You can tell me anything, I won’t judge.”

You shut your eyes, trying to swallow the lump in your throat. God, why did he have to make this so hard?

“What if we… broke up?” Your voice came out barely above a whisper.

You felt him flinch as if you’d slapped him. “What?!” He gasped.

“It’s too much, I-I can’t do it. Everyone keeps saying that you’d be better off without me...”

“Everyone who? What are you saying?” He asked, tears evident in his voice. “Please, look at me, y/n.” He pleaded.

Slowly, you raised your eyes to meet his, your whole body shaking from the effort it took not to fall to pieces.

“Talk to me. What’s happened?” He begged.

And just like that, the dam broke. All the pain and frustration poured out as you began to sob into his chest, the whole story coming out in broken bits and pieces.

For months, you’d borne the brunt of so-called army's hateful comments. At first, you’d tried to just ignore them, aware that it was one of the hazards of dating an idol, but as time went on, they became more and more aggressive and cruel, attacking everything about your appearance and personality. You had tried to cope and keep the comments to yourself, knowing how much it would upset Jimin, but there was only so much you could take.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.” You whispered, but he shook his head.

“What matters now is we need to stand together against this, okay? I’m not gonna leave you to fight on your own.” He promised you, wiping your tears. “Not ever.”

You nodded. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” He said, pressing a soft kiss to your temple, not loosening his hold on you till long after you'd fallen asleep.

He put out a formal statement later that same evening, stating that anyone who was actually a fan or supporter of him would never treat someone he cared about this way, or anyone else for that matter. He said how disappointed he was with the individuals in question, and how any further harassment would be met with legal action.

He also took several days off to stay with you and make sure you were okay. He'd made a vow that night to you and himself that he would do everything in his power to protect you.

I'm not nitpicking at all. Nor am I fighting tooth and nail here. I'm actually quite relaxed about the whole thing. I know a pr stunt when I see one. Some might want to get to the bottom of things, it's kinda what army always does, right? Obviously Taennie is something that bothers some, and creates insecurity for others.. personally I'm still feeling the same about it as I've always done.

So the biggest stars don't need to do pr? What about the Kardashians and basically every move they make? What about Taylor Swift? What about artists disapearing for months (yes, huge artists) only for them to pop up before releasing an album or movie? Partly true actually. We probably wouldn't think twice about other celebs (well, actually I do at times). We have reason to doubt this though.. the plus years of reasons. Love the blog! I have been thinking about what would be interesting ways for Jason to slowly adopt a 'no killing' philosophy. I want it to do nothing with Bruce Wayne or the Batfam (the self realisation is so so so much better,, plus I don't want it to be like... him forsaking his philosophy for... just family stuff, it has to be more) and I've been loving reading ur blog for the past few days so I was wondering if u have any thoughts on it.

I do think this depends on Jason's characterizing, but the main problem with Jason switching over to not killing is his main ideology with it:

The prison system is not adequately preventing hardcore repeat offenders from committing heinous crimes

It feels... Disingenuous if Jason just stops killing without this major flaw being fixed. Yes, maybe you could go, "It is not your job to harm yourself like that for everyone else," but he is a Bat. Giving their entire being to the cause is what they do.

In order for Jason to stop killing, he would need proof that other methods are working. Here's a few suggestions:

Blackgate/Arkham reform [and no one escapes for over a year]

Inhumane procedures/failsafes against high-risk criminals (such as bomb in the head, loss of limb, impairment, heavy medication use, brainwashing, etc.) [Wouldn't be killing, though]

Legal system fixing [would take years to implement, though]

Dangerous criminals shipped off to the Phantom Zone or some other virtually inescapable place

Some of these methods are impossible without the batfam, though :/

There is one ideology I can see Jason adapting in the meantime, however.

If they die, they stop suffering.

As long as someone puts the little notion into his brain, it will get the ball rolling. He would start to morph from killing shots to permanent injuries. Not only would this affect their quality of life, but their medical bills will become expensive. It's also a permanent reminder of what they've done (I'm not arguing for this method. This is a reflection of what might change his mind to refrain from killing).

As he slows or stops killing, he may find this to be preferable (lessens the blood staining his hands).

I also think the Outlaws could help him with these realizations. They may kill as well, but that would allow Jason to have open and honest communication about the costs.

Jason could also use his tactical prowess for designing personal hells for every person he deems worthy of it (like the real disgusting jerks out there).

In the end, he would refrain from killing unless he deems it necessary for his, his teammates, or civilians' safety.

As far as using killing being a form of SH, I can agree with that idea depending on the circumstances/how it's interpreted.

We could see how killing takes a literal tax on his soul, but I'd prefer to analyze how killing harms his relationships/support system (not talking about his friends. We stan them and their unwavering support).

The Bats, his family, are actively against killing. This is not an argument of whether they should or not. This is a statement about their boundaries. Jason knows that the Bats are against killing and that maintaining a relationship with them while killing would be extremely arduous, or, in some iterations, impossible.

We could argue whether or not Jason should even be part of the Batfam (for his own sake) or how he may have hoped they'd love him in spite of that. We could debate on how much Jason's independent actions should affect the Bats considering their vigilante status vs their family status.

Those are all separate but vital arguments.

Bottom line, Jason knew/knows that killing is a HUGE point of contention. How the others react (and, in some cases, they react horribly) is besides the point.

So, if Jason is trying to play nice with his family by not murdering anyone, he could easily jeopardize himself/his relationships by killing again (this is not a discussion about how the Bats react/what Jason deserves). In one action, he would destroy everything.

I've seen a lot of fics where Jason renegades his agreement due to one of his family members being hurt. He ends up killing again due to the severity of the perpetrator's actions against his loved one(s). This is fabulous angst.

However, I haven't really seen one analyzing Jason killing again because of his low self-esteem. After months of not killing, he relapses in an effort to push everyone away from him with the eventual goal of impersonating a dumpster fire.

In this scenario, Jason kills again to scream, "Look! Can't you see? I am the monster I think I am. I don't deserve love/kindness. I don't deserve you."

Thus, him killing in these circumstances is actively harming himself and fucking up his life. A good batfam would communicate and help him through this. A bad batfam would allow Jason to distance himself or, worse, provide the punishment he feels he deserves (i.e. being banished from Gotham, being locked up, etc).

But, overall, I agree. Jason shouldn't change his methods just for his family. It's an important piece of his identity as a vigilante. He, as a murder victim, believes that death is justice for those wronged. While not all victims would agree to this, it is how Jason feels. He no doubt would be relieved and less fearful if the Joker was dead.

They wrote, “We hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence. Today’s events did not occur in a vacuum. For the last two decades, millions of Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to live in an open-air prison. "Palestinians in Gaza have no shelter for refuge and nowhere to escape. In the coming days, Palestinians will be forced to bear the full brunt of Israel’s violence.” They called on the Harvard community to take action to “stop the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians”. The statement originally included a list of 30 organisations at Harvard that had signed on, but the names were later removed to protect the safety of the students.  On Wednesday, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman called on Harvard to release the names of the students who signed the statement so that he and other CEOs don’t “inadvertently hire any of their members”, Fortune reported. He said he is 100 percent in favour of free speech but he objects to “students putting out a statement holding Israel ‘entirely responsible’ for terrorists’ heinous and despicable acts, but doing so anonymously under a corporate veil while leveraging the Harvard brand”.

Ackman emphasised that people should be ready to defend their beliefs and take responsibility for them. He said that while there is nothing wrong with criticising Israel, students shouldn’t hide behind “a Harvard-branded corporation while doing so anonymously”. On 10 October, Harvard president Claudine Gay put out a statement saying that she condemns the “terrorist atrocities perpetrated by Hamas”. “Let me also state, on this matter as on others, that while our students have the right to speak for themselves, no student group - not even 30 student groups- speaks for Harvard University or its leadership.”

Students challenge leadership On Wednesday, the Harvard Club of Israel issued a statement addressed to the Harvard leadership in response to the “back-pedalling statement issued [by Gay]”. “In the face of evil, Harvard must proclaim that pro-terrorism statements like those published by the student groups on Sunday have no place in civil discourse at Harvard or elsewhere,” the statement said. “If Harvard wishes to be a moral leader for the world, its administration must speak out immediately and forcefully. Anything less than full support for Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens and unequivocal denunciation of this terrorism is unacceptable and is wholly inadequate for an institution of Harvard’s caliber.” Students across college campuses in the US have been speaking out in support of Palestine. On Tuesday, an NYU Law School student’s job offer with an international law firm was rescinded after they published a pro-Palestine message in the Student Bar Association newsletter.  At Columbia University, the Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine contended that the blame for the conflict and resulting casualties squarely rests with the Israeli government and their western allies. Columbia’s president, Minouche Shafik, said she “was devastated by the horrific attack on Israel this weekend and the ensuing violence that is affecting so many people. Unfortunately, at this moment, little is certain except that the fighting and human suffering are not likely to end soon.” On Tuesday, Students for Justice in Palestine at Stanford University penned an opinion piece asserting the legal entitlement of Palestinians to resist occupation. 

Numerous California branches of the pro-Palestinian organisation endorsed a declaration characterising Hamas' assault as a pivotal event in modern Palestinian defiance, Politico reported. Students for Justice in Palestine groups at multiple City University of New York campuses will hold rallies for Palestine on Thursday and Friday.

truly. although i will say i Don’t think it’s fair to judge qrow as a parent because he wasn’t one, in either the biological sense (uncle) or legal (did not have custody) or familial (not a member of the household). so while certainly there are things he could have done better (gotten sober) (quit taking missions from oz for the sake of being around more to help out) (confronted tai about the wagon incident—tho we don’t know he didn’t do that tbf) short of either moving in to take over parenting or like flat out getting whatever passes for child services involved to force tai to get help or foster the girls himself for a while qrow didn’t really have a lot of material power in this situation. & both options he did have posed real risks (misfortune + the compounding trauma of a messy custody fight while everyone was still grieving summer). so

but yeah what gets me is "they really did try their best" and "their best was in fact inadequate and caused lasting harm" are not incompatible statements. Sometimes Your Best Sucks. that’s life. & sometimes when you’re deep in the throes of a traumatic situation or a depressive episode or alcoholism or what the fuck ever You Will Hurt People because you Don’t have the capacity to support others or practice empathy; you can’t draw from an empty well. that’s life!

it’s just also where the "intentions don’t negate consequences" principle applies; qrow trying to Be There for his nieces whilst struggling with alcoholism doesn’t make the harm done by his alcoholic behavior not have happened, tai’s depression doesn’t make neglect not neglectful, salem… existing at all doesn’t justify the choice to rely almost solely on child soldiers to defend his relics. etc

this is also the most compelling thing to me abt tai (potentially) staying near vale because of summer, at the expense of his kids; as soon as you bring "summer is alive and well and chose to leave him" into this equation you bring the implicit blame to the surface: is this woman responsible for his actions because she chose to end their relationship?

consider that the one thing we know with 100% certainty about these two is that summer did not trust him with her real self; her reaction to hearing him down the stairs is.

this, followed by slipping on a mask and lying through her teeth with practiced ease. (in comparison, when ruby is feeling acutely distressed she shuts down and gets quiet, which has the effect of making her distress visible but also small and easy to ignore or easily shunted aside by louder more apparently urgent problems. ruby tries to put on a happy face most of the time, but when she’s Feeling Bad the best she can do is small, strained smiles. summer turns around with a relaxed grin and makes a casual joke at ozpin’s expense.)

so—yang remembers "supermom" and ruby thinks her dad "misses adventuring with [summer]" and for eight volumes there isn’t anything to contradict this impression the girls have that their parents were deeply in love and happy with each other… and then our introduction to the Real Summer Rose is:

she planned her rogue mission in secret with raven, who also left tai for hitherto unknown reasons that are now strongly implied to be that she felt like a failure as a wife and mother.

leaving aside the question of why summer chose to join salem (and why she faked her own death to do it)… this does not imply a happy or functional relationship. if nothing else whatever problem summer had that drove her to plan this suicide mission with raven was something that she, for whatever reason, did not feel like she could bring to her spouse/partner—and that in itself speaks to a fundamental absence of trust, but taken in conjunction with a) this Extremely well-practiced emotional disappearing act and b) how tai handles emotional vulnerability in v4 (NOT WELL!) it’s kinda…

well. the blacksmith shows this to ruby then remarks "maybe you’re not the only one who has felt the weight of others’ expectations. like alyx, like your mother," and the only character summer performs for in this flashback is. tai.

and—while the silver eyed warrior paragon-hero fairytale cult nonsense was undoubtedly the greater burden—i think the narrative is inviting the question here of to what extent perfect mother/perfect wife was one of those expectations, to what extent Raven Leaving was a shadow cast over summer’s relationship with taiyang, and how she might feel about all this with fourteen years of hindsight.

wrapping back around to the point about tai and culpability, you have on the one hand this implicit blame put on summer for tai having neglected the children after she left him and on the other this nascent question rising to the surface of: was summer even happy in this relationship, if she felt like she had to perform happiness often enough for it to be this easy? there’s the asterisk of course that what we see in this flashback was outside of the ordinary but the ease and confidence with which she slips on that mask bespeaks habit.

so tai fourteen years later is still pining for this partnership in which summer may or may not have felt an expectation to Be Happy (perfect huntress, perfect mother, perfect wife) and in which she certainly did not feel like she could bring her Desperate Suicide Mission Problems to her partner… and his parental neglect is all rooted directly in the intensity of his anguish after she left him… and she’s spent those fourteen years with salem and if they’ve not already crossed paths offscreen they’re certain to do so now that tai is like alone on patch with salem / summer / cinder for neighbors.

there’s an interesting reckoning being set up here, i think, with the unspoken implication that summer was the load-bearing pillar in this family and by removing herself from it she Made tai into a neglectful father—that’s the family narrative, dad shut down after mom left (died), but the narrative arc is beginning to culminate with "okay, why did mom leave?" and it seems to me that the natural trajectory from there is to really interrogate that question of blame.

What happened on Sep 16th: a compilation

If I could clarify some things. Lots happened on twitter within a short timeframe, and I've seen a fair number of people misled, so here goes. The Project Moon User Association(PMUA) had received the reply to their demand letter(can only be received by the recipient, and can't be refused) a week ago, but waited to make their statement because they still believed there was a chance PM could apologize, and because the Youth Union(YU) requested it. PMUA uploaded PM's reply and their statement today.

PM's reply, written by a lawyer, said essentially: You are lying and it affected our sales so I will sue you. The termination was legal because Vellmori said first that she wanted to resign(we have a recording). We wrote the agreement with Vellmori and her lawyer later. In order to protect her and the other employees we did nothing(if that sounds illogical to you, it is). Disappear immediately or we will sue you for defamation.

There are many things wrong with the reply, as covered by the PMUA's statement, but I'll get to that later. Alright let's go for it, says the PMUA.

Then PM tweets two threads. The first thread says: We were only laying low to protect our employees, y'all are lying, if you attack our employees we will sue you. The second one says: The YU tried to use us for political gains, since we were going to announce legal action against employee harrassment anyway but they tried to take the credit for it. Look at this image of a document where YU says they were wrong, and apologizes. This PMUA might be under the YU's control, isn't it suspicious? And political?

PM, though technically it's KJH, keeps insinuating that those such as PMUA and the YU are attacking the employees, when it's only KJH himself who's been criticized since 7.25, when he tweeted that they had 'terminated the contract' with Vellmori for violating company rules. The fans knew that was illegal. The paper that interviewed Vellmori the day after, the various news media that reached out to PM, the unions that spoke out on the matter knew it was illegal. We weren't going to let him get away with it if we could help it.

The YU rep Lee Jongchan(@JCLEE0333 on twitter) provided a more accurate picture. The YU, having just learned of the agreement between Vellmori and PM from PM's reply, had asked the PMUA to delay their statement, contacted PM behind the scenes. The PMUA and the unions they were working with had been trying to solve the situation amicably if possible, if PM would just come to the table and learn how to fix the situation. A legal fight would be the absolute last resort, since they wanted the company to do better.

This is where the supposed statement from the YU that PM included in their second thread comes in. A crude screencap of a word doc with typos and 'draft' in the title. It says: We recognize there was no illegal firing and that you've taken precautions to protect employees. We're sorry and we retract our protest. We welcome that you've stated ideology hunts and cyberbullying against your employees will be dealt with stern legal action. Basically, the YU didn't want Vellmori to be bothered anymore so they'd take a bit of a L.

The thing is, during the negotiations KJH refused to include that PM would take legal action to protect employees from ideology hunts and cyberbullying in the future in PM's statement. Apparently that wasn't something he could agree with. Negotiations fell out(around 8 pm, according to KJH), and the next day PMUA went ahead with their statement.

That's the bare facts of it. But I'd like to elaborate a little on where PM is contradicting itself, though the PMUA has already covered some of it.

1. It's laughable that KJH is using the excuse of 'protecting employees' to explain PM's past actions and future motivations, when he can't even put it on paper.

2. He most definitely did not protect his employees. The initial lack of action against DCinside incels' camping out of their office, how he treated contractors like Mimi(author of Wonderlab) and Monggeu(artist for Leviathan comics), the overwork and harrassment Eng translator Watson experienced, the HHPP manager he used as a scapegoat, the LoR Chinese localization team that still hasn't been paid... the list keeps growing.

3. KJH's words are all over the place. In the very first notice he says Vellmori's contract has been terminated because she violated company rules. You know, just as DC had asked for. In the second one, on 8.3, he says they did not fire her, and that it had nothing to do with ideologies. And that he would sue anyone calling it an illegal dismissal. (Also when news media reached out to ask if that meant she was still employed, said he wouldn't answer.) And in the most recent letter, he claims that during the phone call on 7.25 Vellmori said first she would resign.

Nobody believes that, not in the least because the Hankyoreh interviewed Vellmori the very next day about the unjustness of it. Any 'recording' of the call that he posits as evidence will likely reflect that, and work against him in court, so I'd love to see that actually. KJH apparently doesn't remember that.

4. Can you believe he's fudging his words to make it seem like the PMUA and those associated were the ones attacking employees? Not a single mention of DC anywhere. Now in court, if he's required to provide evidence as to just why Vellmori wanted to resign, well... DC did that. That's undeniable. All this started with wetsuit Ishmael, if anyone's forgotten. And if he admits DC was the reason a perfectly innocent illustrator was left jobless overnight, well, he can do away with his insistence that he was protecting her in any way.

5. And even if he twists legalese to claim Vellmori left of her own volition, it's nothing that hasn't been said by employers in the country a million times over. Advisory resignation this, political controversy that. It's still an unfair dismissal, and an especially rampant problem in the game industry that has been a long time coming to be dealt with.

6. Remember when KJH threatened Mimi and Monggeu with the mention of NDA, when they came out with stories of how they were horrifically mistreated by PM? Hypocritical, just revealing private correspondence with the YU without their permission. As well as the ridiculousness of treating the remnants of a negotiation that fell through like fact. He thinks people can't read, I suppose. It's more ammunition for the unions.

7. The inherent idiocy of evilmongering about 'politics' all thread long. What does KJH think unions Do? He's been fueling the fire regarding a labor rights case for near two months now, but doesn't seem to have learned much other than to dig deeper holes. What he means to do by repeatedly insinuating the PMUA and YU are secretly in cahoots when the PMUA has been open about working with the YU from the start I will never know.

8. Refusing to translate The Notice for 53 days was the first and biggest hint, I think. The radio silence, purposefully leaving international fans in the dark, threatening the contractors, the staunch refusal to name the incels for a single offense. During that time we learned Monggeu had been fired just as quickly as Vellmori, after being made to follow an unrealistic schedule to the point she had suicidal ideation. The workplace reviews in the wake of the incident saying KJH was prone to emotional outbursts. All the translators worked to the bone and abandoned, HHPP's manager announcing an apology with his name for decisions he couldn't have made. Those aren't the actions of someone who has his employees in mind.

The PMUA was created in response to PM's announcement to sue fans back in August. They'd held out hope that KJH would be someone who could see reason. But you'd have to be beyond naive to believe that now. So with all evidence piled up during these two months pointing to KJH being a nasty little guy who has only ever had himself and DC's best interests at heart, I sincerely hope KJH fucks himself over, and for all fans who are eternally confused about what PM has done wrong to be someday in need of a union.

The soft sounds of waves crashing against the shore filled your ears as you were about to take another sip from a straw ending in a cut-open coconut. The fresh taste filled your mouth before you gulped the liquid down, sitting straight up again to allow your eyes to roam over the shoreline. A nearly violently bright blue pair of shorts caught your attention and a wide, satisfied grin tugged at your mouth whilst watching Gabriel play around in the water.

About 3 months ago, right after the two of you had somehow managed to bail, swindle and cheat Gabe out of that damned hellhole of an institution, you had decided on selling everything and by everything you had, in fact, meant everything. From your apartment to your car and to the last DVD out of your very preciously cultivated collection. All of it went into two one-way-tickets to Belize and a stay at a cozy, little BnB until you had your stuff figured out.

Getting a job in Belize City thankfully hadn't been too hard on you and instead of mint-coloured scrubs and sneaky linoleum floor you now took care of senior citizens in an adorable retirement home close to the beach.

For the first time in your life, you had learned to acknowledge the little thing, the tiny, minuscule happenings and surroundings. For the first time, you really felt the warm sun shining down on your face and you didn't mind that it made you sweat a little, no, you welcomed it because every minute thing now happened together with Gabriel.

Seeing him smile at you every day, softly waving at you from the shoreline, his legs knee-deep into the water, nearly had you sniffling and sobbing with all the love you felt for that once terribly sad and alone boy on Ward 4. He didn't deserve any of this…not being abandoned by his family and not being pushed into a system that didn't even treat him like a human being, but now, being with you in Belize, none of that even so much as touched him anymore.

After Gabe had ultimately been dismissed from the ward, all of his belongings cramped into an old suitcase and ready to practically jump on the plane, his brother did have the audacity to call you up quite a few times, cussing at you, threatening legal action and all that meaningless ramble but nothing ever came out of it. On one very peculiar occasion, where you had offered Gabe to answer the call, he had snapped at his brother in the most calm and precise way you'd ever witness.

"I'm finally happy now. Fuck off and never bother us again." Two short and sharply aimed statements before Gabe had hung up on his brother.

Ever since then, neither of you had been called or texted again and after the first, very exciting weeks of setting in, it grew more and more quiet and calm with you starting your job at the retirement home and Gabriel finally being in very frequent touch with the outside world. Frequent to a point where he started going on long walks at the beach, especially in the evenings, stargazing until his neck hurt, or taking excited trips to the local grocery stores and farmers markets.

Thinking about that had you smiling into the sun, your hand rummaging around in a striped linen bag to fish out an aluminum-wrapped set of sandwiches.
