come take this very very friendly little man out of my bathroom! he is fiv+ and we are in houston tx! i am willing to drive a couple hours for the right home! he is a good boy he's just orange! more details here!

listening
emily jeffri's DENY off my spotify recommended weekly playlist: i can only describe it as "throbbing". immediately attention grabbing lyrics:
What kind of lover does your mother want? I'll do whatever, oh but you could not
very distinctly indie electronica. this would be the song in a cyberpunk/80s hacker movie where the chase takes you through an goth/alt fashion show where the models are actively giving blood as they walk or something.
i love the spotify daily mix for me and my bestie bc there's a guaranteed four bluey songs on it and it's a nice jumpscare. i know my mental health is taking a turn for the worse when a lot of mother mother starts popping up, i know my bestie's is taking a turn for the worse when a lot of girl in red starts popping up. suicide-watch-level sapphic angst singer-songwriter, generally. except for this song! extremely fun! didn't even recognize it as her! DOING IT AGAIN BABY is a more traditional selling-you-a-dodge-charger car commercial song and it's such a startling departure from her usual work that i wonder if it was a commercial commission? hard to immediately find out tho
I'm on a new level Something's got me feelin' like I could be inflammable And I might be I'm gonna light it up Nothing's gonna stop me if I say this is what I want

reading
i read twilight (yes that one) at the behest of my bestie and bc my mental health could not have gotten any worse in that moment. it has led to some uncomfortable realizations about my high school experience i will save for a therapist. i am mostly putting it here to remind myself that i read this book this year.
^ this is some silly goofy nonsense. not that i think people shouldn't be recognized at their retirement, but what happened to giving people nice watches instead of a thousand dollars in plaques
Saying that, the records did reveal something actually interesting: although the individual contract I sent a request related to was for a few thousand dollars, an attached blank purchase agreement (BPA) says that “the government estimates, but does not guarantee, that the volume of purchases through this BPA will be $360,000.00 over the term of the BPA.” So, a lot more than a few thousand bucks.

Hang 'Em High (1968, dir. Post). certainly not clint's sluttiest role but really up there. i do wish he kept the fucked-out little rasp for the whole movie :(
youtube
When an innocent man barely survives a lynching, he returns as a lawman determined to bring the vigilantes to justice.
it has a typical bizarre shoehorned romance that (i think) deeply undercuts the theme it wants to explore, but there is no on-screen rape. the bar is on the FLOOR with westerns and yet i DNF so so so many.
hell of a whump film. literally everything happens to jed cooper. i will trumpet this again from the rooftops: that character needs cbt both ways.

HIGHWATER, a 2022 adventure/turn based strategy thing from Rogue Games, courtesy of Netflix Games, whose game library is a fucking nightmare to navigate on mobile.
Tumblr media
i loooove a water-based postapoc. the boat does in fact handle very poorly and like a horrible inflatable raft on mobile, which is both charming and frustrating.
i do not love a turn-based combat. despite the vibes off the charts, including a very well integrated "pirate radio" station as the game's soundtrack, i am not patient enough to muddle through complex turn-based combat. i'm sure someone had fun fighting off six guys and two bears (who aggro anyone and can one-hit anyone) and then a further three guys who show up for backup but i gave it the good old college try over two days and wasn't able to swing it. it would be nice to have either a difficulty setting or some way to spectate the ideal fight, but alas. a lot of fun environmental stuff in the fights you can use to your advantage, like the bears and these trees you can flatten your opponents with in a much earlier fight. there's a fun mix of different characters with different abilities and different weapons you pick up and keep during fights. i have no specific beef with this game's choice to make this the way you move through the game, it's just not my preferred genre.
Tumblr media
a lot of book and newspaper collectibles in this one that i feel of several minds about. it feels less like environmental storytelling through newspapers and just the devs telling me their opinion when they provide little book summaries like this. also i wish The Industry as a whole was more thoughtful about using the word "insurgent".
not a game for me, i have once again confirmed that i cannot tolerate a turn-based combat no matter how much seafaring postapoc you drench it in :(

making
got a Phantom Menace era curtain panel for $4 at the thrift, and i was convinced it was fabric someone had made into a curtain panel until i got home and discovered it was an officially licensed product with bafflingly generous seams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's about two-ish yards of a 50/50 cotton/poly blend, which i feel like i haven't seen in a while? i think the current fashion leans more 70/30 or 100 poly for curtains i've purchased. after i finish unpicking the seams and pinking it, i am going to throw it in the wash again with some vinegar and see if that softens it up any, or if it makes the transition between the wear lines on the seams and the body of the fabric any nicer.
thinking about what kind of dress to make that 1) shows off this extremely large scale pattern 2) does not look like i am wearing a paper bag, and 3) does not look like the late aughts craft trend of sewing a twin flat Star Wars sheet to a tube top and calling that a dress, bc that's how hard up we were for feminine merch. much to consider. maybe it Will be a maxi skirt with pockets and i can wear one of my seventy black tees on top?

Mine
3. Stalk me all you want, just bring refreshments.
Tumblr media
Genre: Yoongi x OC
Warnings: some stalking lol
Word Count: 3.1k
We’ve made it to Paris by the time the first stalker finds me.
The past week has been spent in England popping in and out of interviews and press conferences. For the most part, it’s been pretty quiet. Granted, each interview never fails to bring up BTS, one even going so far as to pull up a quiz to see how similar I am to Suga.
I got 62%.
Sebastian demanded to take it as well. He got 43%. I still can’t tell if he was relieved or upset. Either way, things have been a little strange between us ever since that morning when he woke me up post panic attack. I can’t tell if it’s just because we’ve both got a lot of things on our minds or the fact that we’re back in civilization now, but I find myself seeking out the company of friends through phone calls and facetimes more often.
Stacey has been working nonstop to deflate the situation as much as possible. Truly, I owe her everything. She’s quick to remind me just that as I make my way to my hotel room.
“You know, this is very different from any other case I’ve had before. This fanbase is hard to get around.”
I roll my eyes even though she can’t see me from the other end of the phone. “You really have to stop referring to this as a case. It sounds like I’m some type of criminal.”
Sebastian passes me to go to his room while I fumble with my keycard. Stacey is in the middle of explaining the reasoning behind calling this a case when I finally open up the door and nearly drop the phone at the sight before me.
A girl sits on the edge of the bed, phone held up and hat low on her head. She stands up, walking over to me.
“Look who it is! Cara Richie!” For her surprised tone, I know she isn’t surprised at all. Stacey pauses on the phone as she picks up on the other voice. I remain frozen in the doorway, utterly confused. Did I get the wrong room?
Sebastian is the first one to react. “Keep your head down Car, and walk over here. Come into my room, I’ll get security.”
I do as he says, hesitating only a moment longer before turning my head down and heading down the hall. Stacey is demanding answers in my ear, but I can’t bring myself to answer her. Not as the girl is rushing out the door in an attempt to capture more footage.
“You think just because you’re a pretty face that Yoongi would be interested in you? He probably felt bad for your sorry excuse of a career and wanted to help. How do you feel about being a pity case?”
The words fling themselves at my back, but I focus on putting one step in front of the other. Sebastian is speaking quickly on the phone, motioning for me to walk faster.
“C’mon, c’mon…” He mutters under his breath, opening his door wide.
“I think you should know that this is live on Instagram. You look like a coward. Why would he like a coward like you?”
My feet refuse to move faster, my measly pace being the only thing I can manage. There’s a piece of me that really wants to turn around and give her a piece of my mind, but I know that’s the last move I should take. Not when she’s filming. Not when we’re just beginning promotions and my career is already barely hanging in there.
When I’m within arm’s reach, Sebastian grabs me and hauls me into the room. I just glimpse the dark clothing of security bursting out of the stairwell before Sebastian closes the door behind us.
“What was that?” Stacey demands to know. I watch as Sebastian scours the room, checking the bathroom and even under the covers for any unwanted visitors. Once he gives me a thumbs-up, I finally speak.
“I...I think that girl was stalking me.”
🌙
To say the least, Paris and I don’t get along well. Yes, the world-famous city of love. The irony of it all isn’t lost on me. I’m stuck in the city of love all the while trying my best to avoid crazed would-be lovers of some man I’ve only ever seen through a screen.
On the bright side, people who work for the tabloids are having a heyday. I haven’t managed to get my hands on any of the magazines they’re working for, but I do have a phone and said phone is in a constant state of buzzing and ringing.
One the down side I still have no clue how I’m supposed to make it through these promotions in one piece. A part of me hopes that BTS will step in and basically tell everyone to knock it off, but I have no way of knowing how their PR teams works. Either way, they seem to be very good at keeping things on their side very quiet while my side is barely holding the barricade.
We’re driving back from an interview when my phone rings yet again. Sebastian looks at me.
“You gonna answer that?”
Sighing, I yank my phone out of my pocket. No doubt it’s yet another nosy friend or reporter that got my number from a nosy friend.
“Oh!” I gasp. It’s an actual friend. “Bong-Cha!” I all but scream into the phone. It’s my crazy roommate from my senior year in college that convinced me to pursue another degree with her in Seoul.
“Wow, you actually sound happy to hear from me,” my friend teases.
“There’s a first time for everything. How are you?” It feels like it’s been years since we’ve last spoken.
Sebastian looks at me with a puzzled expression as I slip into Korean. I’ve never spoken it around him, but I’ve never had a reason to. In fact, it’s about time I got a call from my friend. I need to keep practicing.
“I’m...great.”
I furrow my brows as I study the Parisian streets we pass. “Are you sure about that?”
Bong-cha’s sigh carries through the phone. “Yeah, I think so. It’s just...remember when I told you before you left for the Congo that I had a really big gig coming up? Like, really big?”
The conversation we had less than a week before I left for the Congo comes back to my mind. Bong-cha and I originally went into the university to study acting. When we were both accepted to a prestigious school in Seoul she was elated and I was confused. I didn’t apply to the school. I didn’t even speak the language, why would I apply? Bong-cha took things into her own hands and filled out the application for me. It took a lot of puppy eyes and convincing, but eventually I realized that a fresh start on a new continent and even with a new language would be exactly what I needed.
The program took two years, but it only took Bong-cha six months to realize that she wanted to focus more on the music part of filming rather than the actual acting. The little punk switched programs, but we still lived together for the duration of the two years. Looking back, she made the right decision. She can weave and create a soundtrack that puts people under a spell. She even helped with the soundtrack for one of my very first indie flicks.
Thanks to her I had something of an advantage going into the world of cinema with both American and Korean acting experience. But the best part of it all was the building up a friendship that will last for decades.
“Yeah,” I come out of my walk down memory lane. Paris somehow makes me nostalgic. “What happened with that? How did it go?”
“Well, it went well...it wasn’t exactly for a movie, though.”
“What was it for, then?” I can sense the hesitation in her tone and urge her forward. “Are you releasing a mixtape or something?” We both chuckle at the notion.
“No, not that. Although I would take the world by storm if I decided to drop a mixtape. It would be pure genius.”
“Yeah, yeah. What was it for? Now you’ve made me curious.”
Another sigh. “I was working on a comeback trailer for BTS.”
My heart stutters for a moment. “You- you what?”
“I know, and I should have told you all of this-”
“Daebak!” I shout into the car, Sebastian jumping a little at my sudden exclamation. “That’s so cool, Bong-cha! I can’t believe you didn’t tell me before!”
“Oh, yeah. Yeah, it is amazing, isn’t it? They’re kind of going for this intense dystopian feel and somebody recommended me to them because they’d seen ‘True Lies’, isn’t that great? I still can’t believe it.”
Bong-cha deserves every ounce of credit that comes her way, I couldn’t be happier for her. Then I remember my current situation, and the questions I’m dying to ask her are all jumping for attention. I bite them down, reminding myself that this isn’t about me.
“I told you that the soundtrack for ‘True Lies’ was perfect, didn’t I? See, you should listen to me more often.”
A half-hearted chuckle from the other end of the phone. “I guess I should. But Cara, that’s not the only reason I called. I think I may have screwed something up.”
If my heart keeps stuttering I may die. Trying not to jump to any conclusions, I struggle to keep the apprehension out of my voice. “Ok...what happened?”
“Well...I worked a lot with all the boys, they’re very hands on in the whole process.”
“Ok.”
“I especially worked a lot with Suga because he’s very talented at producing music and all that, so he had a lot of say in the overall vibe and feel of the piece. Anyways, as you can imagine, we had to spend a lot of time together and we actually became pretty good friends...”
A yellow bike is being parked in a bike rack painted with red flowers and vines. It’s outside of the kind of cafe you only see in movies, and a young woman sits by the window with a book in hand. She’s lost in thought, no longer looking down at her book but instead watching the cars as they pass by. One hand rests idly around her drink which is still full. We make eye contact for a single second before I speed by, and I know that I’ll never see her again but I can’t help but wish I was her.
If I were her I could sit there calmly, not worried about much except for not spilling my drink on my novel. I would admire the yellow bike in the rack, and think up bike routes that I could enjoy. I would pack my book in the little basket between the handlebars and I would wait for a sunny day to go out and read.
Just my bike, book, and me.
Jumping a little as we pass over a speed bump I’m ripped from my alternate reality and drink in the words that Bong-cha speaks as delicately as possible.
“...we talked a lot, and eventually I started talking about my friends. You know, pretty normal, isn’t it?  Everyone talks about their best friends. I mentioned you, of course. Explained how we lived together for however long, like what, four years? Two in the states and two in Seoul? Anyways, I was going on about you because ‘Under Nine’ has been so huge and it’s like you finally had your big break.”
Coaxing my jaw to move from its stiff position, I form a sentence. “Bong-cha, just tell me.”
There’s a two second pause before she dives back in. “He’d seen the film, said that you seemed cool. And I just started thinking about it and I thought that you two would be so cute together. And he just seems...lonely. Is that weird? And you’re always so stressed with trying to find the next big project so I just talked you up but...I- I didn’t tell him to date you or anything, I swear! I just said that you two should be friends. That’s all, I swear.”
Somehow the spike in heart rate I was expecting never comes. Instead, I almost feel  more at ease. At least I’m starting to understand how this got started. It all seemed too disconnected before, like he just picked my name out of a hat and decided to have some fun with it.
“So...do you know why he said those things in the interview? Because that wasn’t exactly a call for friendship. At least, if that’s how he meant it, he failed. Big time. And now I’m paying the price.”
I can’t keep the bite out of my voice toward the end, and Sebastian doesn’t need to be fluent in the language to understand that tone.
‘You ok?’ he mouths. I nod and roll my neck in an attempt to relax. I don’t want Bong-cha to think that I’m mad at her. If anything, I’m flattered that she even thought to act as a sponsor for me to one of the most famous rappers in the world, however misguided her intentions.
“I know. I know, trust me, I talked to him about it.”
I wasn’t expecting that. They must be pretty good friends if Bong-cha feels comfortable calling him out on this. “You did?”
She chuckles. “I know, shocking. I just feel partially responsible for all of this. Then when I saw that video in your hotel room-”
“Wait, you saw that? I thought they were able to take that down in time.”
“Well, it was live when she was filming it. So she had to stop the filming but it was already out in the world. If it makes you feel any better, most people feel bad for you. You reacted really well in the video. Didn’t even say anything. Yoongi felt horrible when-”
“Hold up, hold up.” The words tumble from my mouth before she can continue. “You’re telling me that he actually saw that? And you talked to him about all of this? What is he saying?”
“I would tell you if you would quit interrupting me.”
“Sorry.” A hint of a smile tugs at my lips, the head strong Bong-cha I know so well reappearing.
“Anyways, as I was saying he felt horrible once he saw the video. Obviously we knew that it was probably a little crazy for you, especially with interviews and stuff. But I think even the guys were surprised to hear about you having stalkers and stuff.”
“The guys as in…”
“As in the guys. Jin and Jimin and-”
“Yeah. Yep. Got it.” I’m not sure whether I should laugh or cry, so I settle for shock.
“I talked to Yoongi about it, though. They all feel horrible about it, really. I guess after I talked about you so much he got curious and started doing some research and trying to figure out who you were. You know, kind of like friend shopping.”
“Is that a thing?”
“Sure, when you’re that crazy famous it is. You have to make sure the person you want to befriend isn’t some psycho in disguise.”
I snort. “I am a psycho, though. I don’t even try to hide it.”
Bong-cha chuckles, in full agreement with me. “Trust me, I know. But I don’t know, maybe he thinks it’s endearing? I mean, look at his closest friends. Compared to the rest of the members, you’re pretty tame. They’re all nuts.”
Just from the way Bong-cha speaks about the band I can tell that she really loved spending her time working with them. It would appear they all became fast friends. I can’t say that surprises me; she’s always had a knack for making friends.
“Alright, if you say so.”
“Anyways, I guess the guys were just giving him a hard time because he was always watching your stuff. Everyone took it too far in that interview. I mean, honestly speaking, I think they want him to get a girlfriend as badly as I do, but,” she keeps chattering away as she senses my impending interruption, “they realize that this wasn’t the best way to go about everything. Trust me when I say that their agency practically skinned them alive when the interview went viral.”
I suppose it makes sense to a certain point, but there’s still one outlier in all this information. If this is purely just an innocent mistake, then why on earth would Yoongi fan the flame by inviting us to the film festival in Seoul? And publicly RSVP?
I ask Bong-cha as much, the skepticism thick in my voice. “I just don’t get it, I guess.”
Bong-cha curses on the other side, and I can practically see her rolling her eyes. “That is precisely why all of the boys have basically been in time out for the past couple of weeks. Remember when I said that the other boys want Yoongi to get moving as much as I do?”
“Yeah? I don’t follow…”
Bong-cha laughs at the situation, the sound of it only worrying me more. “That wasn’t Yoongi that invited you guys and RSVPd.”
I nearly choke at the new information. The anger I feel is red-hot. Somebody really is trying to sabotage my career, aren’t they? “W-who? Who would do that? Why haven’t they said anything about that? Clearly someone is trying to ruin my career, and possibly his as well. Wouldn’t BigHit do someth-”
“Hey! Listen to me you psycho!” Bong-cha yells through the phone, barely able to get me to shut up for more than two seconds. “Are you even listening to me at all? I just said that the others are pushing for you and Yoongi, too. Nobody is trying to destroy your career.” She pauses, and for once I don’t interrupt her. Instead I wait with bated breath for her to continue. “You should have seen Yoongi’s face when Jin told him what he did.”
Jin? Kim Seokjin? What did he do?
“What do you mean? What did Jin do?”
A sigh of long-suffering. “He’s the one that invited you guys. And made sure Yoongi would have to be there to face you by publicly RSVPing him. Got it?”
“Why would he do that?” I ask myself the question more than anything. Bong-cha still responds though, the smirk evident in her tone.
“You’ll just have to ask him in person when you get here, won’t you? Make sure you save me a seat. I want to be there for this.”

Modern head canon part 3
Shelby-Family and music
Arthur
Tumblr media
He listens to classic rock like cream and Derek and the dominos. The clash, the Beatles, Queen, the doors… stuff like that, but different to his brother John, he doesn’t keep a lot of records around and doesn’t go to concerts anymore. Also he is not interested in finding new music, but he listens to the radio in the car, because it’s just easier this way. And while he is working on a car, there better be music blasting all over the garage.
Song to represent him: Born under a bad sign- Cream
John
Tumblr media
Cus we’re at it!  Like mention before, he owns a huge collection of CDs and Vinyls. John loves concerts and goes to at least one per month. It is probably more. In his free time he wears band shirts. Suits are cool, but not very comfortable. And he would let his girlfriend wear his shirts, because they look super-hot on her. Especially, if the shirt is the only thing she is wearing.
In his apartment there is an expensive sound system, which he can also console from his phone, but no one but him is allowed to touch it. And you can look at the records, but you have to put them back in place, because he likes to have a special order with his collection. Nobody understands that order. Also worth mentioning, John knows bands nobody else knows and he could talk hours about that topic only. His family is already annoyed by him and won’t even ask a music question while he is in the room.
(I have a playlist of songs; I think that suits him just right, but enough said about my little guilty pleasure. So sorry about the list, I couldn’t decide on one song only. If someone is acutally interested or just liked the songs I picked… there are more where that is coming from)
Song:
Little Monster- Royal Blood
Night People- You Me At Six
Just to Get Your High- Arcades and Lions
Do You Want to- Franz Ferdinand
Gang Control- Leftöver Crack
Too Drunk to Fuck- Dead Kennedys
Finn
Tumblr media
Sweet, little Finn likes to emulate his brothers. So he is trying to listen to all the old stuff his brothers like. Huge Queen Fan, but he also likes so much more music. Finn has a little thing for minimal and well, he doesn’t fixate on just one genre- but he hides that from John, because John is so picky about music. The smolest Shelby brother also likes going to clubs and dancing there, with the b-boyz and the b-girls. Isaiah is always with him and they keep each other’s back.
Finn is chill and he clearly gives of the “indie-vibe”. I’m thinking of Hozier and Milky Chance.
Song: The Game- Milky Chance |Wasteland, Baby- Hozier
Tommy
Tumblr media
(I thought about that so fricking long. What kind of music would Tommy hear? A friend said something like, he don’t like music at all, but I think that’s not possible as music is available nowadays and all around us and it’s human to like melodies and the rhythm)
Tommy is the guy who would prefer silence, especially when he needs to think, but of course, when there is nothing on his mind and he has some free time with his family or friends, music is okay.
He likes romani music as this reminds him of his mother, which was a beautiful singer and would sing whenever she felt the need to. This music also reminds him of his childhood. Tommy is very reflected on that part. He knows when his parents failed and weren’t the best parents. He is still bitter about his father and wished that his mother hadn’t died, but he also remembers how much fun he had with is siblings or his parents, when they had a good day. Sometimes he likes to think about that time of life. And the music brings back the memories. Then he even likes to dance- with the right woman of course.
Besides that he likes instrumental music, like tango music or classical pieces, because there are no distracting vocals.
Song: Barcelona Gipsy Klezmer Orchestra - Djelem Djelem
And I’ll add a song with I associate with him: Bad things – Jace Everett | Bad news- Melody Gardot
Polly
Tumblr media
Jazz, definitely Jazz here. To specify… Swing, Gypsy Jazz like Django Reinhard-Style, Bebob and some Gospel, which is not Jazz, but just leave it here.
She can also dance to that and if she’s getting an invitation to a concert she is most likely to say yes. Polly likes to show of her skills and the most guys are pretty impressed by that and her stunning confidence. When she enters the dance floor, the heads turn around.
Aberama likes to dance with her until they fight for air. Then they drop dead on a chair and drink some more.
And she taught Michael to dance, so he doesn’t have to sit around at parties. Actually she taught them all, but it didn’t work with Arthur and John.
Song: Whatever Lola wants- Sarah Vaughan | No Man’s prize – Melody Gardot
Michael
Tumblr media
He can dance so well. Some might think he is even better than his mum. While he was in custody with the other family he had dancing classes and he’d loved it. Mainly because there he could meet pretty girls and he was one of the only boys. Until this day he still likes to dance with a girl, but he can also do it solo.
But his taste in music goes far beyond the music his mother likes. He has a thing for hard tech, hard bass, gabba, French core and general techno, but not house. And yes, he learned jump style or hakken, because he liked the challenge. Finn films him sometimes while doing that. He is proud and would totally argue with John about music. Michael also likes some rap and the artist The Weeknd. His music always makes me think of Michael
Song: It’s called XCT –Dr. Peacock |Often- The Weeknd
Ada
Tumblr media
She isn’t so fussy about music. If she likes something, she likes it. As easy as that. She doesn’t like to stick to a genre and listens to everything that is shown to her. Her playlist look like pure chaos because there is pop mixed with rock mixed with jazz mixed with metal mixed something else.
And she likes to play music all the time, because she is not comfortable with dead silence. So her music plays while she is working, while she is baking, while she goes for a walk or grocery shopping. She dances a little, but isn’t so confident as Michael or Polly. Ada is somehow pretty up to date when it comes to music. She always knows the latest song of her favorite artists.
Song: Prisoner- Miley Cyrus ft. Dua Lipa |Back to Black - Amy Winehouse

Do you like bacon? I’m not as wild about it as I used to be, but I’m still definitely into the whole put-bacon-on-everything schtick and I have no problem trying out novelty items that put bacon in donuts, or oatmeal, or cake, or whatever it is haha.
Have you ever wished for something to come true and it did? I mean, yes. It’s ranged from something as simple as “I wish it rains today,” to something as big as wishing that the person I like liked me back.
Do you like Rammstein? I’m familiar with the name but I’m not necessarily a fan.
Do you know a friend of a friend? Yes. I used to drink with Angela’s friends from arki. We never ended up being close but they were always great people to have a few drinks with.
Do you smile for no reason? I usually smile for a reason.
if somebody paid you a million dollars to get a green mohawk would you? Sure. I only stay at home anyway and that makes this whole thing not that big of a deal, honestly.
Ever had a BLT? Did you like it? It’s too basic a sandwich for me, but I wouldn’t turn it down if it were the only option available. I’d still remove the tomatoes, though; I never liked those in my burgers or sandwiches.
Are you in College? Not anymore; I graduated a few months ago.
Have you ever been to a State Fair? We don’t have those here, first of all because we don’t have states haha.
Do you like Youtube? I enjoy a number of YouTube channels and I certainly visit the site everyday, but I don’t like the way the corporation itself runs their website. It’s since become very different from what YouTube used to be.
If so whats your favorite channel? At the moment it’s Good Mythical Morning, but I also have a number of other subscriptions like BuzzFeed (for their Worth It series), First We Feast, Try Guys, PewDiePie, Anthony Padilla, Anna Park, a couple of channels dedicated to pro wrestling, some eating ASMR channels, among others.
Do you enjoy compulsively cleaning electronics? Can’t say I do.
What is your favorite small dog breed? Are beagles considered small dogs? I love them.
Do you smell bacon cooking? Nopes but I do have a dark chocolate macadamia cookie from Starbucks beside me that I can faintly smell.
Have you ever bitten anything for any unknown reason? What was it? I like biting on straws, but that’s about it I think.
Do you like the movie "The Master Of Disguise"? I don’t think I’ve heard of it before.
What is the closest thing to you thats red? A paper bag under my desk that holds all the artsy stuff I’ve bought over the years, like my coloring books and paintings.
Have you ever gone into a toystore just to play with the toys? That’s always made me feel like a freeloader haha, so I never go to toy stores just for that purpose. I’d sometimes play with whatever exhibits they have, but I make sure to go through the different toy sections too.
When was the last time you went through a Mcdonalds Playplace? Maybe when I was 5 ot 6 maybe? I went to Burger King’s playground way more often since we dined there more. Also, there were always fewer kids so it was more fun to play there.
Do you have an annoying dog? Cooper’s a beagle, who are notoriously big balls of energy, and so there are days I just can’t keep up with his energy and for those moments I do have shorter patience with him. It’s really not his fault, though.
What was the first comic book you ever had an obsession over? I was never into comic books. I tried for a long time because my two favorite wrestlers are into them, but just couldn’t jump on that train.
Do you like kids pop-up books? Loved them as a kid but I was never obsessed enough to have them for my own. I was content reading pop-up books in the school library.
Does anybody else think bugs are cool and interesting? I’m sure there are tons of people out there, but not me.
What kind of toothpaste do you use? Colgate.
Do you own a pair of striped socks? I don’t think so, no.
What is the most random thing in your bedroom? An inflatable pig.
In a normal conversation do you slip out Latin? LOL no. I don’t think I’ve done that before, unless I was singing something in Latin on purpose.
Can you sing? No. I’m not tone-deaf, but I’m not anywhere near decent either.
If so, what is the highest note you can reach? -
Have you ever been to the cream cheese capital of the world? I don’t know which one that is.
Was this survey random? Enough for me to have a good time with it, yes.
Have you ever been in a parade? I’ve been to several Pride marches if they count.
What is your mothers, mothers maiden name? I don’t actually remember haha, so I wouldn’t be able to share it anyway. It’s a very Chinese-sounding name, though; that much I can share.
Do you have a different hairstyle? No. I just have bangs, which a lot of people already have.
Am I annoying yet? I don’t feel annoyed, so you’re good.
Do you like soybeans? I haven’t had actual soybeans. < Same, but I’m sure I like food products that have soybeans in them or are made out of soybeans.
Do you press buttons just to see what they do? Hahahahahahahaha yes that’s me, I’m that person with the restless fingers.
Do you still play pokemon? I never got into the video games because I was never any good at strategy-based games, but I did play Pokemon Go for a while especially when I was in freshman year of college. Overall, I was mostly into the anime.
What is your favorite pokemon? Jigglypuff.
Have you ever put blue streaks in your white cats hair? I have a white dog, but I wouldn’t do this to him even if you gave me dog-friendly dye. Just not my preference.
Are you blond? Nope.
Does it bother you when people have a collar turned up? No.
Are your nails painted? If so, what color? If not, do you like nail polish? They’re never painted. No, I personally don’t see the appeal of nail polish for myself but you do you.
Are you awesome? I’ll let other people be the judge of that.
As a kid did you like Barney, Baby Bop, or DJ more? Wasn’t it BJ? Anyway, I liked him the most, then Barney. I found Baby Bop way too whiny.
Have you been to the Bzoink Forums yet? I just go there to look for surveys. I don’t actually try out the other features.
Does any key on your computer and or laptop stick? No.
Does fire excite you? Fuck no lmao, I’m terrified of fire.
Have you ever sung in a choir? Never.
Do you go to church? Until March this year, I had attended mass every Sunday all my life. When Covid hit, we started watching YouTube recordings at home. So yeah, no escape.
Have you ever had a theme (pirate, ninja, civil war) day? Like, in school? Yeah we had a themed day in high school once. I forgot what the actual theme was but I remember going as Lara Croft. In college, we used to go with color-coordinated outfits for Valentine’s Day, e.g. people who had dates can wear red, those who are single can wear black, those in complicated relationships can wear brown, those who had crushes but can’t have them can wear yellow, etc. It wasn’t an official rule, of course, but it was always fun for those who chose to join haha.
Can you touch your tongue to your nose? Nopes.
Have you ever been to Philadelphia PA? No. It has an amazing reputation for being a passionate wrestling city though; it’d be cool to go there and see a local show or two.
Do you think Orlando Bloom is hot? He’s not unattractive, but I just never had a crush on him.
Do you think Twilight is over-rated? At some point I think it was, but it also got (and continues to get) so much hate that I think that has since been able to balance out the initial overrated-ness of it.
When was the last time you where sick? what did you have? I had a UTI in May, which I never would’ve known if I didn’t take a urine test because all I got was a high fever that never went away. Peeing was never painful for me during that time and my kidney region never hurt either.
What is your favorite number? 4.
Look at your toes. Sure.
If you are a girl do you hate girl drama? Idk what you mean by that. I never grew out of liking gossip, though.
If you are a guy do you hate girls who prolong the drama? -
ZZZ, im tired....are you? A little, but I have coffee so I might stay up for a bit because it’s Fridayyyyyyy.
Favorite indie music group? alt-J.
Have you ever pet a monkey? I don’t think I have.
Have you ever ridden a camel? Nopes.
Have you ever punched somebody? Never to hurt someone.
Do you like cupcakes? Love them.
Orange or lemon flavoring? Depends on what I’m consuming. I like orange chewy candies, but I like lemonade juice too.
Can you sing opera? Not a chance.
Touchpads or Mouse's? Touchpad.
Have you ever been to a Disney theme park? Nope, I haven’t.

Muse
Dennor Week Day 3: I chose today for my Free Day
Highschool/Human au, Nyotalia
ao3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/24122461/chapters/58214002
Mette tapped her pencil, staring at her sketch. There was something off but she couldn't quite place it. Pursing her lips, she looked up again to get a better look at her muse, only to flush darkly. Agnete was looking at her with a raised brow from the desk diagonal from her own. Mette averted her eyes, staring down at her drawing. She was embarrassed at being caught staring and she only hoped Agnete hadn't seen who she was drawing. Of course, that was only wishful thinking because as soon as the bell rang Agnete turned around to lean over the paper curiously. Mette tried to cover it but didn't seem to do it in time.
Agnete's face turned a slight pink and she stood. "Your art is good… Do you take commissions?" Her voice was soft but fairly deep. Mette gaped a bit in surprise, it wasn't often that she ever got to hear the other girl speak in class and it took her a moment to respond.
"Uh- yes! I do, um," Mette got up quickly, gathering her things as she spoke, "I do take commissions- if you're interested, I have an Instagram."
Agnete nodded, waiting for Mette to start heading towards the classroom door. "What is it?" She asked, taking out her phone. Mette told her the username, taking out her own phone to follow back. Agnete smiled softly, moving as if to brush hair behind her ear but it was the shaved section. It must've been an old habit. "I'll message you what I have in mind later."
They turned their opposite ways in the hall to go to their next classes. It took everything in Mette to not bounce and cheer. Not only did the cute punk girl like her art, and was interested in commissioning, but she also didn't embarrass her over the drawing. She was still blushing in excitement as she sat down for her next class, excitedly bouncing. With a sigh, Berwald, her friend next to her asked, "She looked at you?"
"And spoke to me!" Mette exclaimed, turning to grab his arm. "She asked for my Instagram- and she's going to commission me! I've never been so excited."
"Now you can talk to her… Instead of staring."
"Oh, like you're any better! You get a crush on someone and all you can do is 'hmm'. We both need to work on our flirting skills." Berwald glared at her but reluctantly shrugged in agreement. They both had trouble with crushes, but Mette was better at talking to people in general.
Mette anxiously tugged on a short curl, thinking over how she acted. She was definitely too excited and surprised that Agnete didn't freak out when she caught her drawing her. It was pretty weird to draw someone she had never actually spoken to and to become infatuated in the first place. But she just thought she was cool! The piercings, but minimal makeup and tattoos, event the aloof look she usually had. She would've been intimidated by her, but when Agnete spoke she sounded shy, rather than apathetic. As an artist, someone like Agnete intrigued and endeared her. Mette was pulled from her thoughts by feeling her phone buzz against her thigh. It was in the middle of partner work, so she could get away with checking it by claiming to be looking up something. With that in mind, she typed in her passcode.
And just as she suspected, it was an Instagram direct message from Agnete. Mette wasn't completely creepy, so she hadn't even looked at her account yet.
'I read over your commission post. I think mine might be a bit different than you're used to'
Mette tilted her head but typed back a fast response.
'that's fine! We can discuss it and go over prices, ideas and such'
'i want your help coming up with an album cover'
Her eyes widened and she couldn't hold back a grin. She had no idea Agnete played music and an album cover sounded like an exciting project.
'i am totally down to help you! I can listen to some of your music, and you can send me albums from other artists and bands you like for inspiration!
We can even discuss ideas and samples in person.'
'samples? You don't have to go through all of that…'
'i want to!'
'maybe I could come over then and we can talk in person'
Mette had to cover her mouth at this point. Agnete had just asked to come over to her house. She took a deep breath to calm herself before replying.
'totally fine with that! how does tmw after school sound? I walk home.'
'i can do that. see you in class tmw (:'
"Berwald, she's coming to my house tomorrow and she sent me a smiley face, what does this mean?"
"She's nice..?"
***
Agnete had smiled softly and greeted Mette quietly when she entered their shared class, and Mette almost fell from her chair. She grinned, waving a bit and saying, "Hey! Still meeting at the bike path?"
"Yes, if that is okay."
"Totally, yeah!" Mette hummed, now looking back to her work. The class seemed to speed by, and throughout it, she would exchange looks with Agnete. Nothing anybody normal would note since they never even lasted a second. But Agnete had the prettiest indigo eyes, accentuated by her black eyeliner, and Mette wanted to explore them for hours. She took this time to finish her drawing from yesterday, it was only semi-realism but she still wanted to get the details of her nose and lip rings. The bell rang and she tapped Agnete's shoulder. "Here. Since you caught me drawing you without asking."
Agnete's pale skin heated up as she took the drawing. "Thank you… I like it a lot."
Mette wished she had any other classes with her, or at least some in the hall so they could walk together. She really wanted to get to know her and hoped they would talk about more than the commission after school. The rest of her classes seemed to drag on and she constantly caught herself checking the clock every couple of minutes. Her heart seemed to jump when the last bell, rushing to grab her backpack and go out the side door of the school. She waved and spoke to several friends and acquaintances on the way out but didn't linger as long as she usually did to goof off. She held back a skip in her walk when she saw Agnete was already waiting by the fence for her, fiddling with her phone.
"Agnete!" She looked up and gave a two-fingered salute. Mette waved excitedly and jogged the last few yards to her. "Ready to go?"
Agnete nodded and picked up her bag, waiting for Mette to lead the way.
"I'm excited to work on this, I had no idea you did music. Not that we've ever talked before, but you seem to have a pretty big following. What instruments do you play? I should've kept up with my cello," Mette spoke fairly quickly, looking at Agnete with wide eyes. Agnete glanced away, turning pink.
"You talk a lot…" Mette bit her lip, shrugging awkwardly in response and shoving her hands in her hoodie pocket. Agnete gently bumped her shoulder with her own. "It's kinda cute… I play bass, guitar, ukulele, and I'm learning piano still. What kind of music do you like?"
Mette seemed to light up in relief, freckled cheeks red from the compliment. "Oh, I like almost anything! I have a playlist for so many genres. I think heavy, heavy, metal and country and the only two I barely graze. But my favorite genres are definitely soft rock and bedroom pop."
"Varied, huh? I like that stuff too."
"What genre do you play?"
"Pop punk, and Indie occasionally. I guess you could call some of my stuff bedroom pop…"
"I can't wait to hear it! I'm honestly relieved you didn't think I was totally weird for staring at you and stuff…"
"You're still plenty weird…" She smirked. "But I was relieved that you were simply drawing me and not weirded out by me…"
"Of course I'm weirded out! A cute girl like you wanting to commission me, in person? With such an exciting project. Totally weird." Mette's heart fluttered, watching as Agnete covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a laugh. When she finished, she asked, "Anyway… When did you start art?"
"Ever since I could hold a pencil!" She paused. "But I started taking it seriously when I was hitting my preteen years…" They had been walking for about ten minutes, now in front of Mette's house. She opened the door, dramatically gestured for Agnete to enter. She rolled her eyes and stepped through.
"No parents?"
"They're at work, right now. But they said it was okay if you came over, so we can settle in the living room. Hungry? Thirsty?" Agnete shook her head and sat on the couch. Mette sat next to her, pulling out her sketchbook. "Alright, then tell me about your music and ideas, and play some!"
"These songs are a bit different than what I usually write, so I'm hoping for something a bit out of my style too… It's more soft and emotional than my other stuff," Agnete admitted quietly. She handed her headphones to Mette to use, starting to play her music. Still holding her phone, she pulled up photos of other people's albums to explain what she liked about them. Mette listened closely to the lyrics, stunned into silence. Agnete shifted anxiously, not looking at her and chewing her lip. Only bits and pieces of the songs were played for her, enough to get the idea, most of them were sad or about going through the motions, but the last one seemed to be about awakening and knowing yourself.
"Is that all of the ones you wanted me to hear? They're lovely, Agnete!" Mette said, handing the headphones back.
"I started writing the last one yesterday, um…" She blushed. "You can read it if you'd like…" Mette nodded eagerly, waiting for her to open her teal journal. As she read over it, her heart sped up. These lyrics were much more hopeful than the last, they were still a bit doubtful but with hints of hope mixed in. But it was the lines about a girl with bright eyes and a brighter smile. It couldn't be her, right? Maybe Agnete already had a friend or lover to feel hopeful and inspired by. That was fine. It didn't mean Mette couldn't be her friend too. She smiled and looked at her. "I think this is a lovely song to end on. It's really pretty so far, I can't believe you just started this yesterday."
Agnete rubbed the back of her and gave a coy shrug. "I assumed if you got to use me as your muse that one time, then I could use you as mine…"
Mette gaped. "You mean-"
"Don't let it go to your head!" She gently pushed her over onto the other couch cushion. Mette laughed loudly, sitting up straight again to tell her, "I think we're going to become great friends…"
They both knew there was something else implied… And they both knew it was way too soon to fall to short infatuation and were content being just like this...

How He Loves
Let’s throw it back to one of the first Johnny-centric stories I’ve written, which was during the time I was just getting into NCT 127 and not that into Johnny yet.
Look at me now – I’m head over heels, and I try my best to obtain his merchandise if I can afford it. And of course, I live for his Bubble messages at Lysn!
This GIF gets me every time – the nerve of this flirt to do this to me, but I know I like it!
Tumblr media
Mahal ko kayong lahat! :)
–––
Summary: This piece was written after this post. Hence, they are connected. I’ll do a master list soon of all my posts and which ones are connected. Maybe you can remind me too?
POV: 2nd here, baby.
Word count: 1,000 + words
Recommended listening: I’m an Arctic Monkeys stan, so feel free to listen to the songs I will embed here. And yes, I’m sharing my playlist of depressing songs too that shares the same title as the one Essie has.
–––
As one of the most famous poems starts, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
You love that Johnny is open to any of your interests, eventually loving them as his own.
Both of you have diverse music tastes, but you listen to more indie than pop. He has learned to love the Arctic Monkeys, your favorite band of all time. Whenever the two of you are headed to the pub, he always played their ‘AM’ album. He sings along with you to Matt’s high-pitched voice in ‘Knee Socks’ and slightly raps with you to ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High.’ On sunny morning road trips, he would play their ‘Suck It and See’ album, and the two of you will poke fun of ‘Brick by Brick.’ Then, the two of you will get sentimental when ‘Love is a Laserquest’ comes on, and he would always hold your hand at the end of the song.
You have also learned to love more Korean pop because of him, and now you have a newfound appreciation for girl groups and even hip-hop artists. Both of you loved creating playlists for each other to the point that you have a lot of playlists already. You always play one of his creations whenever you’re on your commute or when you’re just chilling at home. He admitted that he listens to your ‘Of Heartbreak and Despair’ playlist when he wants to get in touch with his emotional side, and you couldn’t help but be flattered by this information.
You love that Johnny allows you to smoke when it’s just the two of you after Kibum goes off on his way. The older guy doesn’t tolerate smoking and gets into a fit when he smells cigarette smoke on you.
Once it’s just you and Johnny, he finds the nearest Starbucks he could drive to. You sit outside with him sipping an iced Americano and you a piping hot Café Mocha. You light a stick and blow the smoke away from him, but sometimes he makes fun of you by leaning closer and inhaling loudly the smoke that came from your mouth. You nudge him aside, and he just laughs at you, amused at your reaction. “Don’t do that Youngho, sitting beside me is already secondhand smoke for your pretty lungs,” you muttered, tugging the hood of your jacket to cover your face.
He lets you finish three sticks at most and slaps your hand away from the carton when you’re about to get your fourth stick. “No more,” he grunted, before squeezing your hand into his. You break away from his grip easily and immediately search for the hand sanitizer in your bag. You don’t want his hand to smell like smoke or any part of him actually. Sometimes, you would spray with him with your Victoria’s Secret perfume, so he still smells good. He loved the smell of Bombshell that he now keeps a bottle or two in his car.
You love how patient he is with you in many ways, but let’s start first when you two work out.
You admit that you are a lazy ass bitch who just wants to sleep all day, but he won’t allow that. He would invite you to exercise with him, whether that’s doing muay thai or aerial yoga. There were times you felt like covering your face in embarrassment when you couldn’t do some moves or positions, but he never made fun of you. Instead, he would assist the trainer to help you perfect the routine. He did not mind how sticky your arm was with sweat as he held it in his warm hand.
After you struggle with his exercise of choice, he would treat you to your favorite food. The two of you would eat at your favorite Italian restaurant, where you unabashedly stuff your face with focaccia bread. He will just laugh at your puffy cheeks as he mixes the balsamic vinegar and olive oil for you to dip your bread on. If you didn’t go there, you two would head out for some Persian food. You love how joyful he looks whenever he douses the basmati rice and beef chelo kebab with loads of garlic sauce, and laugh when he makes faces after eating ox brain.
Another way that you love him being patient with you is when he has no complaints waiting for you to get ready when going out.
As much as it pains you to admit it, you are a high-maintenance girl. You always want to look glamorous and make a statement whenever you went out, even if you would just grab groceries beside your apartment. You couldn’t leave the house with some makeup on and huge hoop earrings.
He would tuck the stray hairs away from your face when your curls couldn’t be pushed back by your headband. Or he would tie your hair away from your face when you were too focused on blending your eyeshadow, mumbling that he’s bored, and he likes playing with your fluffy mane. In return, you would do his eyes when he felt like adding another accessory to his look. Most of the time, he requested for a brown smoky eye, and you always delivered. “I wish you’re a part of our tour, I’ll have you as my makeup artist,” he chuckled, admiring the work you did.
“Shut up,” you muttered, packing away the makeup you used on him. He grabbed your wrist and pulled you closer to him, his eyes making contact with yours.
You felt your cheeks heat up as he looked at you rather intensely. It felt as if he was peering at your soul.
You know he’s handsome. If you were being honest with yourself, he looks like a prince right out of a fairy tale. All you needed him to do was wear a pristine military uniform. When he winked, you burst into laughter.
“The fuck was that,” you whispered, removing his hand on your wrist. “We both look good in smoky eyes, baby,” he replied seductively before winking again. The both of you just laughed at how silly this situation was turning, and maybe this masked how you two felt for each other.
You still couldn’t believe that he loves you more than just a friend. It has been two weeks since his confession, and your mind hasn’t grasped the idea of you two going out on dates, even if people thought your hangouts were more-than-friendly dates.

Survey #244
“you could stand me up at the gates of hell, but i won’t back down.”
What accent do you find most difficult to understand? Heavy southern. Has your music taste changed over the years? Not very. I do like more indie stuff now than I used to, though. What movie never fails to make you cry? The Notebook. What movies do you think need a sequel? Hm... I'm sure there's plenty, but they're evading me for now. Let's see... yeah idk. Do you have to see it to believe it? I mean it depends; see what exactly? But in general, yeah. I believe in spirits, maybe even auras, stuff like that. What was the last thing you bought for yourself? Food. Do you like 3D movies? Yeah, they're cool. Have you ever had breakfast in bed? Do you know who your maid of honor/best man will be? Sara, unless I end up marrying her lmao. In that case, it'd be Mom. If you had the opportunity to be famous, would you take it? I don't like the term "famous" for me personally, but rather "well-known" for a photographer. What is your favorite healthy snack? Strawberries, I guess? The Fangirl and the Star
Chapter 1: Dream a Little Daydream
Pairing: Rowena x reader
Summary: Your favorite actress, Rowena MacLeod, has a panel in your town. You attend and get more than you bargained for when it becomes apparent Rowena has an interest in you that goes way beyond platonic.
Editor: @oswinthestrange
Tumblr media
Rowena MacLeod was a star.
With her TV show, The Mega Coven, having just finished its fourth season, the fifth to start filming in a few short months, and more screaming fangirls than even some of her eye candy male colleagues could account for, she was the network's most popular actress.
Short, red-haired, and just a few months shy of forty, she hardly fit The CW's popularity requirements. That had earned her plenty of criticism, some bordering on hate. People called her old and ugly, attributing her fame to the fans' lack of taste and standards. As if looks and age were everything.
You found nothing wrong with hers. With hair as red as fire and eyes as green as forests, Rowena was one one of the most beautiful women you had ever seen. She had an ethereal aura about her, as if she was more than merely human. Her height — or lack thereof — only added to her appeal. Every time you saw her smile, you couldn't resist doing the same. She had one of those smiles that easily lit up every room she'd flash it in and prompted everyone else in vicinity to smile along. It was like an infection, and you gladly gave yourself over to it.
None of her physical attributes, though, could compare to the perfection that was her personality. She was incredibly kind to fans. Not a single person who'd had the pleasure of meeting her had had a bad story to tell. She treated everyone with courtesy, with dignity, with respect that they deserved, fully aware it was these people that had given her this fame she loved so much. Without them — without you — she would still be a barely known actress starring in shitty indie films. The Mega Coven, and its immense fandom, had opened doors for her that would never close. She appreciated it to no end.
When you heard she was going to have a panel in your town, you knew right away you had to be there. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, one you couldn't miss. Your friends thought it was silly to spend so much money on a forty-minute panel, but you didn't care. They didn't understand. They could never understand how much you loved Rowena MacLeod, how much you needed to see her. You'd dreamed of it for years, daydreamed of various scenarios where she was right there in front of you, talking to you, smiling at you like you were the only person in the room, the only person that mattered.
And now she was standing only a few feet away from you, head high and proud, on a stage in front of hundreds of people laughing at her jokes, all of them wishing they were there with her. Wishing she would look at them, that she would flash them a smile meant only for them. Rowena drank the attention in like water, thirsty for more, more, more. She never grew bored of it, of the endless praise fans showered her with.
Some people hated on her for it. You, on the other hand, found it endearing. The woman knew her worth. She was owning it like the queen that she was. There was nothing wrong with that.
Earlier, right as the panel started, Rowena had held up a small, purple hex bag and announced someone special from the audience would get it. She always handed out gifts, little cosmetics or candy, depending on the occasion, wrapped up in black hex bags. She'd never given out a purple one. Everyone hoped they would be the special person she'd gift it to. You were among them, but you knew your chances were slim. Knowing your luck, you would end up saying or doing something embarrassing. Not only would Rowena not gift you the special hex bag, but she would laugh in your face and hurry back to the stage to avoid being in the presence of a joke such as yourself.
You couldn't blame her.
Maybe asking her a question wasn't such a good idea after all. Maybe—
Your thoughts were cut short by the familiar clicking of heels growing louder, closer. Rowena MacLeod, in all her high heeled, businesswoman-like glory, was on her way over to you, her stroll confident, casual, tentative to everyone who didn't know her. It was her way of teasing, a small act of naughtiness she did at every panel. You'd always found it hilarious (and not to mention extremely sexy) when she walked over to some unsuspecting girl and made her flush.
Being there, right in front of her, her sly, cat-like eyes observing you like you were prey on a platter, was anything but funny.
It was, dare you say it, terrifying.
To your horror, the line had already cleared. You, and a few other girls behind you, were the only ones left to ask questions.
You would consider yourself lucky if you could remember to breathe.
"Hello," Rowena said, and you knew right then and there that you were verging the line of life and death. Her tone had that joking lilt to it you'd heard so many times on panels you'd watched on YouTube. She was in full blown teasing mode and you were her unsuspecting victim.
"Hi," you said shyly. Calm down, you told yourself. Calm down. Now if only your heart would listen instead of jumping like it was on speed.
"Who are you, where are you from, and what do you want?" she asked. Her usual spiel, a mock demand. It sent shivers down your spine.
"Um…" You swallowed, sucked in a breath. You could do this. "I'm Y/N, I'm from downtown, and, um, I-I'd like to ask a question."
She looked at you. "You'd like to ask a question."
The audience laughed.
Your cheeks flushed. "Yes."
She raised an eyebrow, tilted her head to the side like a curious puppy. "What if I say you can't?"
More laughter.
You blushed harder. "Um…"
Rowena grinned. She stepped forward. Got close, closer, closer. So close you found yourself unable to breathe. You wished you were as cool and collected as you were when this happened in your daydreams.
"Am I making you nervous?" she asked, knowing full well that she was, prompting the audience to laugh once again.
This was much funnier when you were watching it on YouTube, happening to some random boy or girl. Much less terrifying. Definitely entertaining.
Being there, nervous out of your mind, shaking as if you were under a severe fever, was horrifying.
Rowena stopped a few inches away from you. She looked you up and down, those beautiful emeralds scanning every part of you, observing you like you were an artifact in a museum, strange, unique, fascinating. Her mouth was wide in a smile you didn't have in you to resist to reciprocate, infectious as ever. It never faltered, never flickered out for even a second. She was enjoying this, enjoying having this much power over you, enjoying you letting her have it without complaint.
Even if you wanted to complain, you couldn't. Your defenses were too weak to resist her.
"Hello, darling," she said teasingly.
Your heart skipped a beat, then jumped again in delight. She called you darling. God, she called you darling! If you weren't crippled by nervousness, you would have done a little dance. "Um, hi."
"The view here is nice."
"It is."
The white blouse and black dress pants it was tucked into curved around her body perfectly, accentuating her curves and leaving just enough hidden to guarantee a delicious imagination. Definitely a nice view.
Rowena smirked as if she'd read your mind, as if she knew of your darkest, most intimate desires. The thought was both terrifying and exciting.
"Are you nervous?" she prodded just because she could, because she was mean and she knew you — the audience, the fans worldwide — loved it.
"A bit," you choked. It took everything you had to force the words out somewhat coherently.
She raised an eyebrow, disbelieving, curious, smirk widening in a wicked curve. "Now, now, there is no reason to be nervous, darling." Her voice was sweet as pie, pleasant as that of her character when she was around children, but there was a hint of naughtiness behind it, lingering in the pauses between words like a particularly persistent, welcome aftertaste.
Your shuddered as the pet name slipped those ruby-red lips with practiced ease, insides melting in a rush of boiling hot lava shooting through you. Your nerves were in overdrive, firing wildly like electric sparks slithering under your skin, making you tremble, making you weak despite your best efforts to remain strong — as strong as your body allowed, for Rowena MacLeod's presence, her proximity that was a blessing and a curse all at once, made it hard for you to control yourself. It made it hard for you to be yourself. Your body — you, all of you, heart and soul — was hers whether she wanted it or not.
"I'm not that scary, am I?" Rowena asked with a chuckle. She looked out at the audience and spoke loudly into the microphone, "What do you think, folks? Am I scary?"
The answers varied; most were joking yesses, plenty of a bits, and a few noes that sounded quite sarcastic.
Rowena scrunched up her nose adorably, a gesture that always made you melt when you saw it on screen. Even naughty and mean, was too cute for words. "I'm scary?" she said, laughing. Her lower lip popped out in a pout that somehow managed to be even more adorable than the scrunch. "So rude. I've got quite a rude audience today."
A chuckle escaped you as the audience laughed.
"Mean. All of you," Rowena said in that same teasing tone. She looked back to you. "You don't think I'm scary, do you?"
You didn't have the heart to tell her she was more terrifying than Pennywise. "Maybe."
An overly dramatic expression settled on her face. "I had faith in you!" she exclaimed, tone matching her look. It elicited snickers from the audience. "You broke my heart."
"I'm sorry," you squeaked.
"You should be sorry!" Then, inching closer and voice softening, she said, "It's okay. I forgive you. You seem like a good girl."
Good girl.
Another term from your daydreams, though that one happened to be spoken under slightly different, more private occasions. Even still, your pussy throbbed, slick with want, heat pooling between your legs like liquid hearth.
Not knowing what else to say, you uttered, "Thank you."
Rowena flashed you her brightest smile. "I know you."
"You do?" you inquired, happy for the change of subject.
She nodded. "You're that girl from Twitter."
Oh, shit!
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!
The topic of her being scary suddenly didn't seem so bad.
"Um…" you squeaked out. Your go-to word today, it seemed.
"You send me pictures quite frequently," she said. When the audience roared with laughter, she said, in a mock-shocked tone, "Not those kinds of pictures! Naughty lot, you are! My goodness." That only prompted more laughter.
You wished the earth beneath your feet would open up and swallow you whole. You wished you could disappear. You wished for anything, anything, just to be away from all this. Away from the embarrassment, from the flush that turned your cheeks boiling hot, from the tremble of your limbs. It was a miracle you managed to remain on your feet, for your knees had turned to jelly, bones liquified, useless. If you were to make one step, one teeny-tiny step, you would collapse like a bag of potatoes.
"You're quite good with image editing," Rowena said.
"T-thank you," you said timidly. There were plenty of fanartists better than you, but you were happy she liked your work. Happy that she recognized it, recognized you amongst all those people.
"You're very creative," she said.
"Thank you," you said again. She'd liked your fanart on Twitter quite frequently, but it was nothing in comparison to her praising you in person, in front of hundreds of entertained (and quite possibly envious, at least some of them) people. The petty joy of social media likes couldn't compare to the explosions rummaging your body from the inside as you absorbed her words like a sponge, collected them in a little box in your mind for safekeeping, to replay them later, to savor them like a comfort meal.
"Just being honest, dear," Rowena said with a wink. Another daydream moment made real, another burst of heat and electricity shooting through you. It was as if she was on a mission to destroy you from the inside, to rid you of all sanity and coherence and render you a puppet, strings tight in her hands. "I found you on Tumblr, as well."
She might have as well pulled a gun and shot you right between the eyes. "Um…"
"Aye," she said with a grin, a teasing glint sparkling in her eyes. "I found a wee story — or several."
Kill me now, you thought. Get a gun or a knife or a crowbar and get it over with. "I write sometimes," you said shyly.
"You write a lot," she said. The audience seemed interested, some people oohing. No doubt a lot of them had read your stories.
"It's fun."
"Och, I bet it is! Such intricate plots, such attention to detail. You might as well be a professional."
Your heart stopped. "You've read them?"
Please, say no!
"Oh, aye! I've read every single one," Rowena said delightedly.
Shit, shit, shit!
"I'm sorry," you squeaked.
She tilted her head sideways like a curious puppy. "Why are you sorry? I quite enjoyed them."
That was exactly what you were sorry for. That she'd discovered them. That she'd read them. That she'd liked them. Those fanfictions were meant for you, for fans with interests similar to your own. Rowena was never supposed to find them. She was never supposed to read them, let alone comment on them straight to your face. You suddenly felt naked, bare, exposed to hundreds of people. Exposed to her, all your deepest, darkest needs out in the open, an open book for her to read to her heart's desire.
"I…" you muttered. "I didn't…" I didn't intend for you to find them.
As if she'd read your mind, Rowena said, "There's no need to be ashamed, dear. We've all got our hobbies. Besides, I think you've done a marvelous job with Ruth."
Ruth was her character. A funny, quirky Scottish witch that liked to tease and flirt and cause mischief. Basically Rowena if she were a fictional character.
You couldn't have gotten a better compliment. "Thank you."
"Though some of the situations you've put her in were quite strange," she said and winked conspiratorially. Another tease, another challenge. Another rain of hot shivers bubbling up in the back of your neck and spilling down your spine. "Or, should I say, naughty?"
You swallowed, hard, throat constricting dangerously tight as if someone had grabbed it and wouldn't let go.
"I don't mean it in a bad way, of course," she said sweetly. Of course. She would never. "I'm very impressed with your… skill." She last word slid off her tongue in a purr that made your pussy drip with need.
It should have been illegal for her to do that.
It should have been illegal for her, so sexy, so naughty, so teasy, to exist.
"I've had practice," you said.
"I bet you have," Rowena said. It was an accusation, one of humor rather than malice. Yet another display of teasing, another provocation made for no other reason than to rile you up. To show you she was in charge, and that she wanted you at her mercy, weak and desperate.
Mission accomplished.
"I bet you've had lots of practice," she purred. The sound, delicious, exotic, sent another wave of pulsating pleasure through your pussy, pressure building up, edging explosion. You wished you were back home, or in a bathroom, or anywhere else private and preferably away from her to relieve it.
Rowena's presence was dangerous. As much as you wished to never be apart from her again, to have her for your own, to own her, you also wished to be somewhere far away and alone to take care of the problem she'd caused. She affected you more than anyone ever had. The woman oozed power from her every pore, radiated with dominance and confidence, and owned it like a queen. She could have anything — anyone — she set her eyes on. All she had to do was want it.
Against all odds, out of millions of people to choose from, millions of willing volunteers ready to throw themselves at her feet like slaves, she seemed to have wanted you.
A chuckle escaped you at the thought, the possibility instantly dismissed. There was no way she wanted you. Absolutely no way. There were much more beautiful girls in the audience, much more handsome, much more worthy of someone like her. She wouldn't go for a zero when she could get a one hundred.
Why was she acting like this, then? Why was she flirting? Rowena had occasionally engaged in flirtation with fans, but never to this extent. Never this directly. Her words may not have said it, but her mannerisms, her body language, her smiles and laughs and the tone of her voice certainly did. She was flirting obviously enough that even a clueless idiot like you would notice it.
It made no sense. Why? What made you different from everyone else?
"I did," you sad with a tinge of pride. She'd already read your fanfiction; the damage was done. The least you could do was own it.
"Practice makes perfect," Rowena said.
"Totally."
"Don't you ever stop." You looked at her, surprised, startled. She gave you a smile that reminded you of a sunset, warm and friendly, genuine, sweet. "You're a marvelous writer, Y/N. Keep honing your gift."
Hundreds of different thoughts swirled in your mind like a tornado, words all jumbled together in an indistinguishable mass. There was only one thought you could make up clearly, one thought that seemed more important than the rest.
She remembered your name.
She remembered it, and, dear god, it sounded so good rolling off her tongue. A short, sweet melody you could never tire of listening. You wanted her to say your name over and over, wanted her to purr it, wanted her to claim it. Wanted her to claim you.
"I-I will," you stammered. "Thank you, Rowena."
She flashed you a thousand watt smile, one of those infectious ones you had no choice but to replicate. "My pleasure, dear. Now, what did you want to ask me?"
Oh, right. You were here to ask her a question. You almost forgot.
"Um…"
After all that had happened, you weren't sure you wanted to ask her. She had already kind of answered it. You suddenly felt stupid and mentally cursed yourself for not preparing a backup question.
Rowena looked at you expectedly. "Yes?"
Well, you thought, here we go. There was no getting out of it. "I wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on fanworks? I-I know you often like and share stuff on social media, but do you support it, in general? Are there things you don't support?"
"I totally support it," she said without missing a beat. It was an automatic response, swift, confident. "I'm so grateful to everyone who makes fan content. So many talented people. When I first got cast in The Mega Coven, I never thought it would gather such support. The fans — all of you fine folk — are amazing. I must be doing something right if so many of you are willing to make art of it."
This prompted the audience to chuckle.
Rowena let out a chuckle of her own. "I support it all," she said. "Drawings, writings, videos — all are near and dear to my heart, and it's all thanks to you. There isn't a single thing I've come across and disliked. Such creativity, such diversity of ideas… it's incredible. I feel blessed."
The audience clapped, joyous, happy. You clapped along; it wasn't every day that your favorite actress, your crush, publicly expressed her support of your work.
"Thank you for your question," Rowena said once the commotion died down. "Let me get your gift."
She returned to the stage and your stomach turned with an army of butterflies flying in circles in it, fluttering madly. You wondered what your hex bag would contain. A chocolate bar? A lotion? Makeup? Anything would do; you weren't picky, especially when it came to her. She could gift you with a rock and you would be the happiest girl in the world.
Rowena was back rather fast, heels clicking as she walked. The sound was endearing, somewhat. It was hers, and you loved it for it. Everything hers you loved.
"Here you go, dear," she said happily.
You looked down at her hands and your heart stopped dead in its tracks.
Clutched in the palm of her right hand, her tiny fingers wrapped around it, was a purple hex bag.
The purple hex bag.
"You-you're giving it to me?" you asked in disbelief. This had to have been a joke. There was no way you were the kind of special who deserved it.
Rowena, though, seemed to think you were. "Aye," she said with the same conviction one would have saying that grass was green and the sky was blue. "It's yours."
"Oh, my god," you muttered.
She laughed lightly. "I said I'd give it to someone special, didn't I?"
The audience cheered.
You wanted to die and do a little dance of joy at the same time. "Me?"
She shrugged, nonchalant. "Why not?"
She pressed the hex bag into your hands. The brief physical contact sent electricity through you. You wrapped your fingers around the soft material, relishing in the feeling. It was yours. She considered you special, considered you worthy of it. Not even your daydreams had ever conjured up something like this.
Rowena lowered her microphone and leaned forwards, so close you could feel her fresh, icy breath on your neck. She smelled sweet, of flowers and meadows in Spring. "Word of advice," she whispered only for your ears to hear, "open it somewhere private."
You stared at her as if she'd grown a second head. She kept smiling pleasantly, unfazed. Then her arms opened wide and before you could process what was happening, her body was pressed against yours in a tight embrace.
Your body went into overdrive, nerves firing, electricity sparkling, heat swallowing you whole bit by bit. The sensations were overwhelming; you found yourself shaking, limbs numb, legs barely holding you upright.
Rowena MacLeod was hugging you.
She never hugged anyone, and she was hugging you.
Oh, god. Oh, god. Oh, god.
This wasn't happening. It couldn't be happening.
Yet it was — it did — and, despite the overall shock of it all, it felt so fucking good.
Closing your eyes, you used your last remnants of strength to return the hug. She was incredibly small in your arms, seemingly frail, but you knew better. The woman was a powerhouse. That tiny body held more strength than you ever could.
It almost hurt to part from her. It almost hurt to go back to your seat and watch as the few remaining girls asked their questions and tossed banter with her. It almost hurt to hear the announcement that the panel was over, and to see Rowena walk out the door, to see her back and then the empty stage, as if she'd never been there, as if the past forty minutes were an illusion.
Turned on and on your wit's end, you rushed to the nearest bathroom. You locked the stall tight and leaned against the door. Your breathing was still rushed, still ragged. Rowena was a hard woman to forget. Once she afflicted you, she stayed with you. You couldn't shake her, even if you wanted to.
Holding the little hex bag up, you gently opened it, careful not to damage it, and peeked inside. It was empty save for a piece of paper. Frowning in confusion, you took it out and unfolded it.
On it, in the neatest handwriting you'd ever seen, was written:
I'm in hotel Allure, room 42. If you're so inclined, come join me tonight. Seven o'clock sharp. I'll be waiting. Rx
The first thing you did was mutter "Holy shit" under your breath.
Then you started screaming, incessant, relentless, the sharp, piercing sound tearing from your mouth until you ran out of breath and, panting, fell to your knees, legs stinging from slamming into the clear, white tiles.
Who said daydreams couldn't come true?

Kristina Bazan Is More Than a Pretty Picture. She’s an Artist [Q&A]
Tumblr media
Kristina Bazan is a woman of many talents. From starting her world-renowned fashion blog, Kayture, as a teenager, to being chosen by Forbes in 2016 as one of the 30 under 30 most influential personalities, it is difficult to imagine something Bazan is incapable of doing. So, when the fashion socialite and best-selling author announced she would be focusing solely on music, it first came as a shock. However, upon further inspection, music does not exist as some experimental detour in the life of Bazan; it serves as her starting point and a place she always seemed destined to return.
Before the fashion and fame, Bazan was an introverted teenager who took up songwriting at the tender age of 13. She even went so far as to join a rock band at the age of 15, in which she would play rock covers in her friend’s garage. However, it was around this time that her fashion blog, Kayture, began to take the world by storm, and overnight she would become fashion’s “it girl.” Now, some odd ten years since first picking up songwriting, Bazan returns to the art form that originally captured her heart with the release of her debut EP, EPVH1. The striking six-song collection is an introspective examination of our relationship with technology scored by transcendent moments of pop and electronic influence.
We had the chance to sit down with fashion “it girl” turned rising artist Bazan to speak on what has always arguably been her calling-music-and making that at-times terrifying leap into a new medium.
Tumblr media
OTW: What was it like seeing yourself listed as one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30?
Kristina: That was the first time my dad was like, “Okay. Now I respect you.” Before that, he was not really approving of what I was doing. That was the first time he was really like, “You were right for doing this, for working so hard.”
OTW: Besides being a part of Forbes’ 30 Under 30, most people know you from your fashion blog, Kayture, or the fact that you are a best-selling author. However, songwriting has always existed as a passion of yours.
Kristina: I knew I always wanted to be a singer, but it seemed like such an unrealistic fantasy to have. Especially because I was born In Belarus, and I kept moving around a lot, and in Switzerland, we don’t really have a music industry there. So, it was just absurd to even think about it. But throughout my childhood, and when I was a teenager, I was always writing songs, dressing up, and willing to put on a show for my family. I gravitated so naturally towards it.
OTW: Let’s talk about your teenage rock band for a second.
Kristina: Wow! You’ve done your research. It was really funny. It was only with dudes, and we played “Seven Nation Army.” I thought I was so cool cause I was the only girl with way older guys in a garage playing rock. The band was called The Few. I ended up quitting because of the blog, but they actually started performing in Switzerland. They’re really cool. I’m friends with them on Facebook, so when I share stuff about my EP, they’re commenting, “Yes! We knew you from back then!” I wish people knew me from that period, because it makes so much sense. Exactly the way I was at that period, is the way I am right now. I had this period in the middle where you’re playing the game. You’ve got to make yourself a career, to make people know that you exist.
Tumblr media
OTW: Your passion for songwriting really does span quite some time. It’s something I noticed even comes up in a few of your past interviews, even when the focus was mainly on your fashion.
Kristina: It is actually what I love the most. Vocally, I’m not Whitney Houston. I think I have a nice voice, but there are vocal singers who just blow your mind. My forte has always been telling stories. I’m such a dreamer. My imagination is running wild all the time. I feel the absolute urge to put it into something. And music is such a beautiful format to tell stories.
You give music to people and they can make anything out of it and put their own memories onto it. It’s so beautiful.
OTW: Would you say your music taste evolved a great deal from teenage you to present you?
Kristina: I always loved electronic stuff. I’m actually super geeky. Growing up, I always played a lot of video games. I would prefer staying in and playing The Sims over going out with my friends. I got really into Myspace and blogs, and that’s actually how I got into blogging in the first place, because I’ve always been an Internet nerd. Musically, I had a huge obsession and still do with Crystal Castles and Daft Punk. Daft Punk is like my fucking religion. I just love discovering indie, underground electronic bands.
OTW: Your debut EP, EPVH1, gives off this moody ‘80s, almost Blade Runner-esque vibe. Did you attend for there to be an overarching theme to your debut?
Kristina: Well, actually, I was wondering, from my point-of-view, what can I bring to the table that’s new and fresh and that hasn’t been done. It’s such a hard question because there are so many incredible artists that are releasing music, and we’re just flooded with content. We barely have time to digest it. I was really wondering what I can do that actually makes sense. How can I turn all of these years of experience, of being a blogger, working in the digital world, and having this public image into use?
I wanted my whole EP to have this underlying subject manner of technology and the relationship we have with technology. And how it affects the way we live but also our relationships.
youtube
OTW: The examination of our relationships to Instagram must be particularly prevalent to you, as someone whose youth was formed alongside social media a popular blog. Did you find writing from that viewpoint allowed you to tell a very unique story?
Kristina: Well, yeah, because from the age of 17, I was literally sharing my diary with the whole world. I think that a lot of people grew up with me. I had really incredible experiences where followers approached me and gave me letters where they said seeing how I succeeded with the blog gave them the inspiration to pursue something they always feared doing. If you have great ideas, you put them into use, you believe in yourself, and you work hard, nothing should stop you.
I’m really proud that was the position and perspective I was defending. But at the same time, I don’t know why the word blogger has such a negative connotation nowadays. I was really ashamed to say that I’m a blogger, that I’m an influencer because it meant that I’m narcissistic, my life revolves around sponsorships and brands, and that it’s kind of an illusion. Honestly, it kind of is an illusion in a way. Your whole life revolves around portraying a certain lifestyle, portraying a certain image. At the end of the day, you make money off selling and this entire system behind it.
For me, there was a point where I completely lost the point of it. I don’t feel like it’s authentic anymore, even though I kept writing a lot. I always took a lot of time to write profound articles and really share things that meant a lot of me. But I knew that maybe 10% of my audience was really reading them. At the end of the day, what people wanted was just really pretty pictures of me in the streets, which is nice, but I don’t think it’s long-lasting. I don’t think that’s what people are going to remember in five years. While with music, if it’s good enough, it can have a really long life.
“At the end of the day, what people wanted was just really pretty pictures of me in the streets, which is nice, but I don’t think it’s long-lasting. I don’t think that’s what people are going to remember in five years. While with music, if it’s good enough, it can have a really long life.”
Tumblr media
OTW: And by the time people have read this, you will have just finished performing your first three shows–in Paris, Los Angeles, and New York–how does it all feel?
Kristina: Amazing. I love being on stage so much. It’s incredible. It’s like you’re meditating with people. It’s an exchange of energy. There’s really such a beautiful and strong connection. People are chill, they’re here to listen to music, they’re open. For me, it’s the most beautiful thing ever. Since I’ve spent all of these years behind a computer screen, I cannot even tell you how nice it is to have real people in front of me and to see people connect to the music. I saw that some people know the words. Like damn, I wrote those words on my bathroom floor! It’s so crazy to be able to bring that and let people make it their own. It’s wonderful.
“Since I’ve spent all of these years behind a computer screen, I cannot even tell you how nice it is to have real people in front of me and to see people connect to the music.”
OTW: Now that you’ve fully embraced becoming an artist, what can we expect from your forthcoming debut album? Will it be similar to EPVH1?
Kristina: I think that the EP set the bricks of the aesthetics and the sound, but it was so interesting for me to get the first feedback. I was cultivating this whole visual and world for so long, and I kind of lost some objectivity at a certain point, because you’re so in it constantly. I just needed the point-of-view of the audience. I just wanted to have the opinion of random people I’ve never met. What does it make them feel like? What does it remind them of? And that really influenced the way I kept working on my album.
To me, the EP isn’t dark. For me, it’s really introspective and deep in some way. I wanted to touch a cord inside of you. It’s filled with light and it’s really positive. It just questions things. I had a lot of people tell me, “Why is it so dark? Are you gothic now? Are you punk?” Look at me! Do I look gothic to you? [laughs] People said that I was a Satanist cause I had a song called “The Devil.” Guys, we’re in 2018, can’t you play with this word and make a beautiful story out of it. In reality, it’s a love song. So, as much as I don’t find it dark, I want to show something lighter and sunnier on the album.
Tumblr media
OTW: Do you find there’s a very different process when it comes to sitting down to write a blog post as opposed to writing a song?
Kristina: Very different. When I write blog posts, it’s like I’m in a trance and just write everything that goes through my mind. I literally cannot see the time pass. It’s really like you’re opening up and saying everything that’s on your mind. Music is different because you have a format. You have a certain timeframe, rhythm, syllables, and pattern that you have to respect. So, you have to synthesize your message and be really clear about what you’re trying to say so people can have a story to follow. You have to have a really clear idea about what your song is about. Often times for me, it stars with a word or a concept and then I have one hook. It builds almost like a movie. You’re imagining the colors around you, what people are doing, how does it make you feel. It makes you go into a lot of places in your head. It’s so much fun.
OTW: Who are your Ones To Watch?
Kristina: I love Timber Timbre. It’s really one of my favorite bands right now. I keep playing their stuff on repeat. Very chill but very sexy. It’s perfect for any occasion.
OTW: Any last words?
Kristina: Stay tuned for the album because it’s going to be filled with really beautiful surprises. And I can’t wait to see everyone during my performances. I hope as many people as possible can come.

Galemont Talks About: Things That I Recall From E3 Conference (now that they’re over)
These are a collection of things that I mainly remembered the most in regards of the 2018 E3 Conference and my thoughts on it. They’re all a combination of things that I both like and not really like. Either way, all of these are my own opinions and spins on it.
Disclaimer Note #1: Yes, I like video games. No, I don’t/can’t play them or rather to an extent that I can play MAJORITY or ALL of them. Why? Because I’m poor -- so I might as well revel around other people’s emotions and mine (makes me sound like a vampire or something).
Disclaimer Note #2: I won’t include the sideshows or extras (e.g. Nintendo Treehouse). I am going to state things based on the things that are presented at the conferences.
ELECTRONIC ARTS (EA)
Tumblr media
Frankly not the most memorable for me. They mentioned not much from EA other than sports games like Fifa, NFL, and NBA (ones I remembered at least), Battlefield V, Command & Conquer Rivals, and Anthem to name a few.
I kind of like how the folks at EA are somewhat self-aware on what they’re doing when talking about Battlefield V, stating that they want to depict their own image of WWII; though that’ll probably start a conversation for some folks I can imagine. It’s a bit of a downer for me considering that people are applauding at the information that there won’t be any lootboxes. Whether or not this will be true is beyond me.
Anthem looks interesting, to say the least. Though it’s such a shame that they didn’t mention, let alone, showed much. So with that being said I can’t say anything and even be very excited about it. We’ll see how it’ll go.
MICROSOFT STUDIOS
Tumblr media
Lot’s of games. They showed off first party games like Halo: Infinite, Gears 5, and Forza Horizon 4. Ori and the Will of the Wisp was pretty neat and made me somewhat interested in trying out the Ori series.
The reveal of Devil May Cry 5 and Jump Force was very wild! The rumors that I often hear regarding DMC5 since last years Game Awards were very enticing, it was very cool to see it actually be true on E3.
Seeing Jump Force was surreal, especially when you’re watching Naruto, Goku, Luffy, and Frieza beating up each other in a hyper-realistic depiction of New York City’s Time Square; the shot of Ryuk and Light from Death Note is pretty wild too--would love to see what other Shounen Jump characters to be revealed there.
The trailer for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice looks very slick, kind of expecting it to be shown here especially after the teaser during the Game Awards.
The Amazing Adventures of Captain Spirit looks charming; a story that sets in the same universe of Life is Strange makes it interesting in my book. The game’s also free.
I’m super glad that Studio MDHR is making an expansion for Cuphead! It has always been a dream of mine to for Cuphead to have an expansion of some sort and I’m actually really excited that it’s real! They even made Ms. Chalice a playable character so that’s cool!
The game Cyberpunk 2077 was almost thought to be a myth until now. It’s essentially one of those games where you heard it and you’ll never know when the game will actually be released or revealed again; so seeing it back up again is pretty cool especially with their own flares for an introduction. Hopefully, it won’t go off into dark again.

What’s the deal with that big dude during the Rage 2 presentation? He was like silent for a straight 15 seconds or something, some said that maybe his prompter bugged out? Who knows. Most of the presentations there were a little awkward, though it’s probably because most of them aren’t exactly used to standing in front of a big crowd or something.
Speaking of awkward, the Andrew W.K. live performance was whacked. He didn’t sound good there if I have to be honest, I don’t think most of the audience were jazzed about it too.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood was interesting, DOOM: Eternal caught me by surprise. Most of the other games shown there were interesting but didn’t really move me a lot.
Frankly speaking though despite the often awkwardness, there were some funny moments as well. Todd Howard’s presentation was a fun one to me; he was very self-aware of the jokes that went all over about him. I’m glad that Fallout 76 was expanded more in this conference because it was showed on Microsoft’s; it’s going to be an online multiplayer experience but apparently, it’s pretty divisive among folks, I personally think it’s neat--the nukes, however, is probably going to be a little sketchy in my opinion.
They also announced Elder Scrolls VI. Well, I say announced, it’s basically a tease; then it’s over.
DEVOLVER DIGITAL
Tumblr media
Same thing they did last year: a satirical shitshow that makes fun of the conferences. It’s pretty fun, but admittedly I kind of got bored with it and I just want to see games more than them losing their minds. I say that because most of the jokes they do are basically beating on the same old topics that have been talked by folks for so long. Their conference is basically a self-contained story-arc, this one being the continuation of the previous one and I’m sure they’ll probably continue it next year.
They did show some games. 3 I believe. A battle royale shooter (I think?) called SCUM, a frenetic and comical platform shooter called My Friend Pedro (the one I’m most interested), and something called Meta Wolf Chaos XD which is a remaster of the cult favorite FromSoftware game of the same name. I’ll probably need to look it up on that more, looks fun.
SQUARE ENIX
Tumblr media
Not really intrigued with it to be perfectly honest. Some of the things that they showed there have already been shown during the Microsoft conference (Kingdom Hearts 3, Just Cause 4, and Shadow of The Tomb Raider). While they did somewhat expand on it a bit, it kind of lost the impact that I think it could’ve had.
They announced an expansion of sort for Final Fantasy XIV Online along with a crossover with Monster Hunter World, showed Dragon Quest XI, and a new title called Babylon’s Fall by Platinum Games that is basically a teaser. Speaking of teasers, they also teased another new title called The Quiet Man; which admittedly has the strangest trailer.
Somewhat disappointed that they didn’t show anything about Final Fantasy VII Remake. It’s been so long since they announced it and showed a gameplay footage of it. Hopefully, they’re doing alright because the longer it goes on like this, it might become stale.
UBISOFT
Tumblr media
The things that they showed there feels rather unsurprising because I kind of expected the things that they would do at the conference.
Kind of happy that they showed their new Just Dance game as their first thing, that way they cut the fluff and make the rest of the show focus on larger titles. There’s also a dude who tripped himself into a television.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 showed a new cinematic trailer, featuring Jade--but evil or something. The presenters said they want to show a gameplay footage but they showed very little. Joseph Gordon Levitt popped in and talked about putting people’s creative work into Beyond Good and Evil 2 (at least, that’s what I recalled)--didn’t really go into details on the incentives though.
For Honor got a new update featuring Chinese warriors into the mix, and they’re making the game available for free to grab for a limited time until June-18-2018.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was showed again but explained a little more there, it looked interesting despite feeling like another generic rpg shooter. It looked interesting, they mention how they’ll do season updates throughout the year for free and I thought that’s cool. I do hope they’ll do well on this one.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas was showed a bit more again there and good golly they made a surprise with Star Fox crashing the scene, especially making Fox McCloud being playable with his Arwing. Pretty slick. Yves Guillemot even made a surprise by giving Shigeru Miyamoto a gift and I thought that was adorable.
The DLC for Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle that features Donkey Kong was shown there, looks neat but didn’t show much, it was explained in further details during the Nintendo Treehouse though.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey was announced there and it’s surprising to me considering that Origins was out since last year. It looks pretty I’ll say that much. You can also play between two characters in the game: Alexios and Kassandra. It also looks like they’re making the game very action rpg-esque, kind of like Origins.
PC GAMING SHOW
Tumblr media
This flipping conference went on for WAY too long. 2 hours for crying out loud! I also fell asleep halfway through or something because many of the things they showed there weren’t fascinating to me.
Satisfactory won the award for the punniest game title.
Lot’s of SEGA games are coming to PC, ones that caught my attention being Shenmue I & II and Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 0.
Untitled Publisher, a publisher that’s new to me announced 3 new indie games--2 of which I found the most interesting: Bravery Network Online and Overwhelm.
The game Maneater is basically a game about you being a shark and I have an iffy feeling it’ll shed a bad light on sharks for the public (I hope not).
Took so long for them to show Ooblets, a game that I’m very excited for, showed a new trailer though it showed some things. Wished there was more though.
SONY
Tumblr media
The conference kicks out with The Last of Us: Part 2. Ellie is pissed as hell and I have no idea why and I’m scared. She also kissed a girl so that’s something. It kind of caught me off guard because I didn’t follow the previous game and its DLCs, so the whole information of Ellie being a lesbian is pretty new.
Resident Evil 2 Remake is revealed and it looks slick. The fact that Capcom released and announced games lately that actually looked cool as heck is wild. Hope it goes well for them in this one as well as DMC5!
This year’s E3 Conference showed off not one, but THREE samurai games; two of which were shown off in Sony’s conference: Ghost of Tsushima and Nioh 2. Not complaining, they all look slick.
Kingdom Hearts 3 also appeared in this year’s E3 Conference not once, but THREE times as well at different conferences. I should’ve mentioned before that every trailer did show something different, with the one in Sony having the most difference. It looks like Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to have Ratatouille and Pirates of the Carribean joining in.
I remember wanting to see more of Death Stranding and know what the heck the game’s about, and they showed some gameplay footage during the presentation. Still have no clue what it’s going to be about though.
There’s a weird looking game called Control, something to do about a girl with a gun who has telekinesis. Looks minimalistic and clean; it might be good too.
Spiderman features a handful of villains beating up on Spidey in the end. It’s a gameplay footage and oddly I don’t feel that intrigued by the trailer for some reason.
NINTENDO
Tumblr media
Surprisingly not a lot of big games were announced on Nintendo Direct. I’ll say it here and now that the majority of the Nintendo Direct is mainly for the new Super Smash Bros. Aptly named as Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Needless to say, a lot of people were happy and so was I; though I’m surprised and mildly sad they didn’t show anything about Metroid Prime 4.
The first thing they showed was a mech game called Daemon X Machina. I first thought it was Armored Core, but the surprising part is I somewhat half-correct. The game was actually made by the same people who made Armored Core! Pretty funny to me considering that the design of the mechs in Daemon X Machina and Armored Core looked very similar. The trailer was wicked sick too so I’m sold.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 got a new DLC called Torna: The Golden Country that is available this September, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses is also announced to come out next year. So I’m sure the fans of those series would be very excited.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee got a small spotlight there, but it’s mostly on the accessory Pokeball Plus. Turns out, every Pokeball Plus comes with a Mew for free inside; which to me is basically a way to make people want to buy the accessory then (that’s marketing ploy right there). This is interesting to me because it reminds me of the message in the last Let’s Go trailer that mentioned: “you’ll meet a special Pokemon”. This could either mean Mew or something else. So we’ll see.
Fortnite is on Switch, not a surprising thing to me and I think it’s good for the game and the devs who made it. I personally think Epic Games deserve the success with their game in my opinion.
Overcooked 2 is coming soon and now features online co-op which is great! Killer Queen Black looks interesting and my personal favorite Hollow Knight is finally out the day the Direct was on! If you’re into metroidvanias I highly recommend Hollow Knight very easily--the game is generally worth having as well in my opinion.
Super Mario Party was also revealed and I’m genuinely happy; it would feel weird for a Nintendo console to not have a Mario Party game. It also has a Goombah as a playable character there too!
The Direct also bust out a montage of games; the ones that caught my attention were Dragon Ball FighterZ, The World Ends With You, Splatoon 2 Octo-Expansion, Wastelands 2 Directors Cut, Megaman 11, Paladins: Champions of the Realm, Arena of Valor, and Ninjala.
Now for the big one. Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The announcement was great and crazy long, and you can definitely tell that Masahiro Sakurai and the devs were busy when they made this game. It’s essentially a port of the Wii U, but it’s brand new and it adds so many things it might as well be a new game. The game’s biggest feature is the fact that they’re having ALL of the characters throughout the history of Smash Bros. ever; being someone who got introduced to the series since Brawl, seeing Snake and many other old characters was super cool.
They also showed off new characters as well. Princess Daisy is finally in Smash and that was very exciting to me; she’s treated as something called Echo Fighters, which is a fancy term of a character that is a clone but with some variations (other Echo Fighters being Lucina and Dark Pit). They showcased Inkling and what they can do, and in the end, they announced Ridley from Metroid.
END
And thus concludes the many things I found interesting in 2018 E3 Conference. I think this year’s E3 Conference has been rather modest as so many of the games are mainly coming out next year--and these are the ones that are meteoric as well. As to who won E3, well that’s beyond me, especially considering all the factors on what makes someone win E3. If you’re talking about the number of games revealed, I’d say Microsoft. If regarding the games released in 2018, I’d say Nintendo. Either way, I just want to see great games that are fun for people to play with. If the anyone can have a good time and be genuinely happy with a game; then that’s a win in my book.
