Plot after the next earth bender avatar dies- In an era when no non-benders exist, twins are born to a peasant couple in republic city. As they grow up, we discover that one of them is the avatar whereas the other one is not even a bender. The avatar grows up to be a popular kid, always looked up to and appears to be a gentle but strong guy overall. The other twin is deemed useless and unworthy because they're an anomaly. One night, the non bender twin sneaks up to the avatar and finds out they're blood bending. Something snaps inside their head and there's a massive shockwave; nobody seems to know what happened. The next morning, the avatar has no recollection of what happened but the other twin realises they've developed a weird power of bending darkness &/or light. It is gradually revealed that the avatar is a bad guy and threatens people with using energy bending to take away their bending. The weird twin tries to warn people about this but nobody believes them. However, there's one person who also saw the avatar blood bending and joins the weird bender in their quest to foil the plans of the avatar- throughout the series collection more teammates. There's a mid series large battle between the brothers where the weird one loses but the avatar is unable to take away their bending because it's not related to any of the elements. After a couple of arcs in the final battle, the weird one blocks the avatar's chi permanently.

it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.
