FNAF FANARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!! DJ MUSIC MAN AND MUSIC MAN ARE NOT THE SAME CHARACTER

many times, when fnaf artists are requested to draw music man/dj music man, they get them mixed up!!! which is reasonable!!!!!!! we know almost nothing about them, google mixes them up constantly, and a certain matpat meme has only made it more confusing!

They all have very similar faces, but they've got some staggering differences!!!!! so im detailing them and also giving some trivia/our known knowledge of them!!!

MUSIC MAN (FFPS)

The OG music man! He made his debut in FFPS/Pizzeria Simulator and makes another appearance in UCN. He is!!! weird!!

He's not built like a spider-centaur, he's literally like a minecraft creeper with a torso and a bunch of legs at the bottom.

He's got a design unlike any other fnaf animatronic, even deviating from the style of the human ones, though this is speculated to be because he seems to have design elements from enemies and bosses from Scott Cawthon's other game, The Desolate Hope.

He's described to have "something undesirable" inside him (it's never explained what) and in the Posh Pizzeria group he is the only one to have a liability risk at times - in UCN he's the only one of the posh pizzeria that can and will kill you. Also, weirdly enough, in UCN he's the only animatronic other than the original Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy to use the FNAF 1 scream. Despite being called Music Man, his gimmick in UCN is that he hates noise and you need to keep it down for him to not kill you - music also counts as noise for him.

He's voiced by Matthew Curtis, who also voices nightmare Balloon Boy, here are his lines for UCN!

If MM is built like a creeper then DJ is built like a pig - he's Horizontal and looks more spider-y

There's even less info on him, but here goes:

He's a party host who makes up all of his music on the spot, but in between sessions he cleans around the Plex! The reason why he goes nuts and tries to kill Gregory is that he has an experimental but prohibited bouncer mode that was turned on, which is why he's chill afterwards. He also doesn't speak, unlike Music Man.

BONUS: WINDUP MUSIC MAN (Security Breach)

Windup Music Man!

Designwise they're almost identical to MM, but they look like they got microwaved and scraped across asphalt at mach 10. And also got a windup key stuck in their back. And TINY

Ingame they're described to be a prototype of Music Man that escaped the little museum part of the Plex, and that's all we really know. Other than that, their dynamic together is kind of comparable to a bunch of ants working together. They also JUMP and can be seen conversing/playing together.

ALSO: Those cymbals are not legs, they just have a really weird stance similar to actual tarantulas.

There's technically 394 Windup Music Men because the game randomly generates them from a collection of fucked up parts.

Twinklaren + Oscar winning a race before lando

im not good today so. yeah.

"I mean, it's not like it counts properly," Lando says, and Oscar doesn't have time to react because he goes on, "like what they said to George in Brazil last year, yeah? Untill he won Sunday too," he finishes.

His elbow doesn't dig into Oscar's side because the movement gets aborted, and the grin on Lando's face is still present, and Oscar doesn't know what to think, and isn't that always the fucking case with Lando?

"I guess -" he starts to say, but Lando interrupts, sweaty and grinning, something manic in his eyes. "You just gotta win tomorrow," he says, and Oscar's stomach drops. "But congratulations, that was a wonderful drive, they really did magic with our cars, didn't they?"

Lando doesn't stop talking and Oscar can't catch his breath for long enough to do anything, to say anything. What would he even say, or even better, what can he say without having the whole management of McLaren coming down on him in ways neither he nor Mark can counter?

Fuck you, he can say. I won before you, in my rookie season, he could say. I'm better than you, another option. I wouldn't have fucked up in Sochi, that's a good one. You should be calmer when you drive, maybe you could win something then, that one would hurt.

He looks at Lando properly, looks at the way his hair falls on his face, his curls sweat-stained, making waves that somehow suit him. Oscar thought it was funny when Lando shaved his head that once but he thinks it looks much better now. He looks at the smile that Lando keeps on, tries to see if there's a strain there anywhere. Tries to see if there's somewhere he can press, because that's not fair, he drove the race of his life and he won, and what the fuck does it matter it's a sprint? Why does it matter?

He doesn't ask himself why Lando isn't happy for him. He isn't even sure Lando isn't happy for him, but they're racers and all the want, all they fight for is to win, and the first rule is always that you have to be better than your teammate. Oscar always was, he was always better than his teammates, and objectively, he knows people say he's better than Lando. He knows there's whispers and there's tweets and posts and questions. He knows Mark said You can beat him, but he also knows Mark looks at him and doesn't see Oscar sometimes. He knows Mark looks at Lando and sees someone else.

He looks at Lando and sees a thousand ways he can push. He sees a thousand different conversations and he sees a thousand different paths they can take. Well, maybe not thousands. Three at least. He looks at Lando drinking the water and the way he closes his eyes and the way his chest moves. He looks at the way his neck bobs as he swallows, sweaty and wet, and the way his eyes are tightly shut.

He can't see what Lando is thinking. He never can. Lando changes tactics like he changes clothes, like everything is fleeting in this life and like nothing can ever hold his attention for long enough to become meaningful. Streaming, DJ-ing, music genres, teammates, roommates, friends, girlfriends... none of it stays.

He smiles one moment and frowns the next and he means both of those. He's nice to Oscar and he's funny and makes Oscar laugh, or as close as Oscar ever comes to it and he ignores Oscar's texts most of the time, except when Oscar wakes up to 25+ messages, most of them memes and random thoughts. He bickers with Alex and George and then spends weekends with them. He doesn't speak a word to Carlos in the paddock and the next day there's pictures of them golfing together. He ignores Daniel and then spends an hour on the phone laughing with him. He shit-talkes Charles and then plays PS for nights on end with him.

The only thing that's solid in the flitting, fluid fluttering of Lando's existence is the fact that Lando is locked in with McLaren for years.

Oscar doesn't really care about much in his life. Everything he has, he got, maybe not completely easily, but with ease at least. He's a very good driver. He's driving for a team that won championships and will definitely win them again. He's good looking, and rich, and he has a girlfriend and he has a good manager who knows how to play the game and he has his parents and it's all good. He just won a sprint race, their car is improving, everything is going according to plan. He doesn't really have to care about much.

He cares about the hair that's falling into Lando's eyes, sticking to his brow.

"You have - let me," he says, reaching out before he can think about it. Lando freezes and doesn't move as Oscar pushes his curls back. His eyes are narrowed and whn he laughs, it's not right - it's wrong.

"Thanks," he says. "Congratulations, though. Good points to the team."

Lando grins and Oscar wants to scream. There's traces of Lando's sweat on his fingers cooling down in the air. He wants to lick them.

"Yeah," he says stupidly, staring into Lando's eyes and seeing so much it ends up amounting to nothing. "Time to think about tomorrow, right?"

He isn't sure why he's asking. Lando barks a laugh.

"Sure," he says, and Oscar can't read anything in his voice. "There's always tomorrow."

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

I'm having a hard time choosing between Just Missed You and A Sponge, which are two works I am immensely proud of for various reasons. Just Missed you was an incredibly rewarding experience, as I've never really done anything as collaborative before, or had to write specifically for an audio format. And getting to work with you all and seeing how our tiny vague idea grew into a script and then finally a fully cast podfic was so incredibly coo. It's truly what the fandom experience is all about for me.

And then, as being proud I could manage something a bit more on my own (although genuinely, I can't imagine ever getting anywhere without your beta-ing), there's also something so incredibly rewarding about finally finishing a three chapter 40K fic like A Sponge, which is not only by far the longest piece of fiction I've ever produced, but is also a story that has also just had such an incredible response from the people who read it and connected with it.

6. Favourite title you used

I think the moment I realised that I absolutely had to drop everything and go write my angsty idea about Sam and Simi in the restaurant with all their unresolved feelings stirring beneath the surface, was when I realised that I could call it Simmering.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?

Sorry that all of my answers are about fics we've collaborated on in one way or another, but also it's probably Just Missed You, which I've listened to countless times. It makes me happy because of how rewarding the experience was, but also because the collaborative nature of the whole things makes it possible for me to revisit it without ever being struck with the harsh editor voice that can sometimes diminish the enjoyment I would have otherwise felt revisiting my own work.

Another one I've revisited more times that I can count is Pretty Things, since I've been trying to figure out a third act for since February.

Anti-Hero—oh! YES!!! I FOUND A DRARRY SONG!!!! MUAHAHAHAHA. I ADORE THIS. But. What is that "sexy baby" line???? Taylor??? Also “Hi it’s me, hi, Im the problem it’s me” is going to be another meme LOL.

Sweet Nothing—AWWWWW I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS TO BE LIKE THIS BUT OMG!!! I’m like 95% sure this is about her Mom.

Mastermind—Lovely song. Sounds like another song about getting to be with Joe, which Im not mad about. It’s a bop. I like it.

That said, here are my thoughts on the album itself.

I'll be honest, guys. While I liked most of the individual songs, I was a little bit disappointed because I'd expected something so different. I thought it was going to be 13 individual sleepless nights, but it doesn't feel that way. Some of them don't feel all that distinct, thematically or sonically. The album art and promo stuff were so melancholy-seeming? And the songs were pretty much all boppy, reputation/1989/lover vibes—which is great! But just not what I expected.

That said, I would listen to all of the songs again. I will continue to celebrate them and the album and the era! But there were times I couldn't hear her singing over the instrumentals.

Have you also had the misfortune of looking at the Naruto meme subreddit, too? My word, like once a week, there's a "Sakura's useless" joke posted somewhere in there.

Oh! Another excuse I hate people tossing around is, "It's a shonen written specifically for boys, not a shojo for girls, what do you expect? 🙄". Or another "great" deflection from criticizing the sexism in shonen: "Well, shojo has poorly written MALE characters, and THEY'RE not called out for it! ✅♟️". (That's not the checkmate you think it is! Everyone finds poorly written characters in general very annoying, that person just isn't looking for them.)

No one even get me started on the people who bring up Fullmetal Alchemist either! They bring up FMA as their ONE example of an anime with well-written female characters; like that anime's existence alone completely negates the dozens upon dozens of terrible ones! Bad writing is bad writing, no matter the genre; and it's baffling to me how weird some folks are about gender...

I do not have reddit but i do have Facebook and dear GOD is it a shit show. Arguments over who’s more ‘useless’ between Sakura and Hinata. Comments about how Tsunade is trash because she didn’t return Jiraiya’s feelings (URGE I HATE IT), and then every single thing is about propping up character’s like Itachi and Minato and shitting on EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHARACTER.

And wholey crap, ya no. One anime with good female character’s does not at all negate the other bad ones. Like ya, talk about it so people watch it but people should still be calling out sexist (or racist homophobic transphobic or other terrible writing). Like, i love dragon ball. Grew up on it. Will NEVER shit up about how they did all the girls dirty except Bulma (who was always used as the ‘sexy girl’ joke in dragon ball for all the pervy guys. Especially master rochi). Like one girl choosing family over continuing her martial arts carrer is ok (and something i hate about naruto fandom is that they refuse to recognize that s sexist as the writing is not all the girls are housewives. Hinata is which makes sense for her character/arc, but the only other two we can assume are housewives are Karui and Temari which i think is BS. Nothing in their stories say’s ‘would be happy being a housewife’ to me. Sakura and Ino are both working mother’s, with Sakura (as much as people may hate her) seeving a sort of single mother role since sasuke is never home.) but when they made Videl do the same thing with her only fighting being as a team with gohan i got annoyed. She’s my fav dragon ball character alongside gohan and i think she deserved to be a top martial artist among regular ass people. Like krillian level.

Aa for ‘useless male characters in Shojo’ i only remmember a few anime’s but like… not really? Tuxedo mask could be maybe the best example but he’s also constantly showing up to help and support sailor moon. In card capture sakura i recall the main male character being quite useful and having a great character arc. So i’m calling bs on all Shojo having terrible male character’s

When I Started: 

I first had this idea back in May after being in this fandom for about 3 months? It was originally a goofy little oneshot idea at first based on the ideas of 1) fighting as a form of courtship and 2) meme format “is that a X or are you just happy to see me?

How I Lost My Shit:

I actually wasn’t planning to make this my WIP fic, I had another one that remains incomplete, because when I started closing in on the submission date my first fic was floundering and in the background of my brain this one started knocking at the door like, "Sup babey, take me out to dinner?” and I was like, “Aye YO” and decided to roll with it.

How I Finished My Shit: 

I owe my entire life and soul to my bang fanartist, who signed on and drew not one, not two, but FOURTEEN FANARTS covering every chapter, single panels, comic style, everything (which are all embedded in the fic, have a look and scream with me, thanks). In the process of oh-my-god?-ing all over the floor, this fic blew out into first 5 chapters, then 6, then ended up at 8 chapters and about 64k words of absolute shenanigans jet fuelled by art and the gaalee discord, which has been like a hype squad in my pocket. 

Thanks so much to WIP Big Bang for inspiring me to finish my shit!

i love both AUs and canon, with no true preference. this situation can work in a lot of settings!

my replies vary in length—usually, they're about 150-400 words, but i can go higher if the rp calls for it and i can mirror. i'm good with anything as long as we're not doing one-liners.

admittedly, i can be slow to reply. i can reply multiple times a day if i feel particularly inspired, but most of the time i'll take a few days. if it's been a week, just poke me.

Man, it’s been a long time since I got to do this.

Death Battle Season 10 is here and I got four fights researched. The first being the Atom. Now I did not grow up with Atom or know a lot about him. The most I did was his DCAU appearance and that one bit from Linkara. So for this I read as many Atom related comics I could find and presented my argument. So let’s talk about the things I found out.

THE GUY PICKED UP A CHUNK OF WHITE DWARF STAR! Before any of the super hero stuff, he picked up a chunk of white dwarf star and carried it to his car. He’s also a black belt in Judo and an Olympic Level Gymnast... And this was all prior to being a superhero. Like that is just nuts!

You remember Linkara being upset that Ray Palmer tortured a guy by growing inside a guy’s head? Well, in the Sword of Atom series, he was okay with killing because he was in a war. And when they all were taken away from him, he still had those violent tendencies. Like I found two creepy pictures that made me go “that’s the face of someone who would definitely torture a guy”.

So you think his adventures would be related to his size, right? Well, besides your usual “take down bad guys” his early adventures featured him going back to the past to do wacky stuff and bring back a souvenir for his scientist buddy who found a time pool. One of these stories led to the creation of Aladdin’s Lamp, because it was originally Al Atom.

Man, Palmer’s life is a rollercoaster of tragedy. He proposes to his girlfriend over 57 times and gets rejected. When he finally gets her, she cheats on him because he is so busy between science and hero-ing. Then he got stuck in the Amazon at a small size and presumed dead. He gets captured by warrior imps and forced to do his own take on World War Hulk. Find a girl. Loses said girl and family because the government wanted him back. Went on a murderless murder spree when he found out. Old wife wanted him back, killed the wife of an old friend to do so. Then he went to another realm to find a life where he could be happy. Only to find out there’s a super virus that will kill everyone. Tried to fix that, only for space observers to no longer observe and destroy his happy life. Best friend gets turned into a Black Lantern, new protege gets killed by Deathstroke, tries to get revenge but couldn’t...

Thankfully that last part got fixed because Ryan Choi was brought back to life and all it cost Ray was a hand. Which was thankfully fixed thanks to Ryan’s exclusive Mass Manipulation powers that allowed Ray to get his hand back and Deathstroke being Teen Titans Go Robin. Then the reboot happens where he’s still divorce, decided to stay in the Microverse, and had to deal with yet another psychopath who wanted to destroy everything.

This is Strobe, I mean Edg the Destroyer. That’s all.

There is this image I found that I believe is perfect meme material. There were so many times I wanted to use it. And now that I have, sadly not as much. Not many opportunities to present it... Yet.

Now for the match. I was going into the meeting confident that I could convince Atom would win. But the belt was the big issue. It could be hacked into and it could be detectable. If Atom’s powers were more biological, maybe he could have won. Though Pym did have more feats that put him on a higher cosmic scale.

And no, Ray Palmer could not grow. The instances people think he could be either 1, when he was de-aged and gained that power. Lost it. 2, Attributed to Atom Smasher, whose power is to grow. 3, Ryan Choi who has the ability to take or give mass to others. Thus the one time Ray Palmer had the ability to grow a massive hand. As far as I found, outside just being able to grow back to normal size, Ray Palmer can not grow.

This is it for now. Probably save some stuff for their own separate Research Bin entries. But for now, enjoy the next time. As for my remaining matches, I bet two of them you can see me do while another one you may not...

I know we have sent each other so much in the last few days, so I won't make this super long, because I know I could go on for days and days. Becky, you're such a wonderful friend to have and I am so lucky that we decided to connect the way we did way back when --- when we decided to become friends beyond little positive memes. Since then, I have enjoyed endless conversations with you and so many fun stories ( some making us holler in audacity ), but all the same. These are experiences that I am so grateful for and I know you are always going to be someone I think of when I think of my history of writing on this hell site. You have worked so hard and gone through so much --- and overcome so much. I am so very proud of you, my friend. And I mean that, 100%, from the heart. I can't tell you how proud I am of all your work now and the way you push out these projects while still finding time to write. You are a marvel, my friend. Never let anyone put your light out --- you are stronger than anyone will ever know. I hope you know that. Thank you so much for your presence in my life, and the lives of all who know you. 2022 is coming to an end!

   AEHAWUEH GIIIIIRL YOU SAID IT! I love how we’ve just been cannonball-ing love at one another over these last few days though! 😭❤️ Though I once again feel like I will never be able to express how much I appreciate you, no matter how much I blabber off, hahah! But yeah, it’s honestly been so fun catching up like that, and once again it makes me look forward to us interacting more this 2023! Ahh you are such a dear, always spoiling me with all this love! I don’t know what I did to deserve it, but oh lord my heart can’t take it sometimes awewah!!!

   I am so happy whenever we get the chance to chat again, like you said-- we have so much to share with one another and it-- feels so, so nice to just feel so comfortable around one another and open up to each other like this. ESPECIALLY with all the horrors that we have INDEED been through, WHEW! I truly appreciate the listening ear that you are always so ready to give me. And I hope you know my side is always open for when you need the same, along with all the hugs thrown in there. 

   And please-- the inspiring one is you! The incredible works that I still see you write on here, especially with how much you gotta do offline-- will always floor me. Leave me in absolute awe of your writing prowess (And of course the endless amount of love and passion that you have and are so able to easily show in all that you do). I know how tired you are, how much you yourself deal with on your end... and yet you are still going, GOING SO HARD AT IT ALL! STAYING SO DAMN STRONG, I swear you are actually a superhuman at times! And not to mention, the ability to make others feel so loved and appreciated, making them feel welcomed and that they actually belong here... you are truly one of the few gems that make this hellsite worth coming back to, again and again.

   Happy New Year, my dear friend! I am once more so honored to know you and call you my friend. And I hope you will always know just how much I love, admire and appreciate you. No matter how quiet I may seem at times-- know just how hard I will always be rooting for you. How loudly I am actually screaming for your success, just like I had at the MMA fights, AUEHAWU!!! Sugar. Chocolate especially but really, just sugar in general. And good books. She might consider selling someone out for the right book (and then feel terribly guilty about having considered it in the intimacy of her own thoughts but you know. Books.)

Astrid is a bit too inhibited for anything more spicy than that I'm afraid. But then at the same time she found her place in the group she's in currently by cooking pastries so... yay sugar!

What-ifs/Alternate Timelines - Inge

1. She was meant to be my WoL rather than an RP character but I loved her backstory so much that I ended up wanting to write her more often than I would have otherwise. So that AU still exists somewhere in my head, albeit it has faded away since I’ve got Aïcha.

Basically the main difference is that Inge’s backstory is exactly the same as it would have been if she had become “the” WoL, except she never met Papalymo and Yda in the Shroud so the job of saving the world went to someone else so to speak.

As the WoL, she would have still been married to her wife, but also in a relationship with Raubahn (and Y’shtola because it’s hard to imagine an AU where they’ve met more than once without ending up together later on).

2. Goddess AU, based on that meme from 2017. Honestly I haven’t developed it a lot but you can still find posts in her tags about it, I think. The more interesting thing about this AU imo is what it says about her in her canon-verse.

3. In Aïcha verse, as I’ve dubbed the version of the game story in which Aïcha’s the WoL, Inge is a Scion. They’ve met when Mother Miounne put them in touch with each other to go inside Tam-Tara and stayed friends after that. Inge wasn’t really up to leave the Twelveswood at first since she had work to do there but Aïcha’s insisted, and frankly Inge was just too happy to find someone that could keep up with her to resist for long. They’ve done most of the fights together, except for the events during 5.0 (Inge wasn’t called on the First) and I’m not entirely decided about the end of 6.0.

In this verse, she’s still married to her wife and she’s with Y’shtola.

People who’ve influenced them greatly - The Advocate

His mentor and father figure, who took him in after the death of his parents and taught him his trade (before watching him join the Temple Knights with a heavy heart and the constant fear of his death). He’s still his employer to this day and one of the rare few who have always known who was hidden beneath the helm of “The Advocate”.

Another one would be Ser Ompagne, who taught him the way of the Dark Knights. Had he not met him, I don’t think he would have managed to remain in control of himself for as long as he has. Ser Ompagne taught him how to reign in his anger and use it for the protection of others.
