my two cents on this only because i saw people talking about hosegate again:
the statements "teenagers are allowed to and do experience sexuality" and "hosegate is mostly likely bs" are not mutually exclusive
#also “teenagers experience sexuality and media is allowed to reflect that” and “it's weird to talk about minors having sex in depth#and it should make you uncomfortable if you are an adult"#are also not mutually exclusive statements!#hope this helps#i actually have more thoughts but tbh i might contradict myself#but i could be persuaded to elaborate#hosegate#anti hosegate#byler#byler theory#byler theories#byler analysis

mildly funny how people despised crowstar until the firespots twist happened and now everyone’s rooting for her to kill that guy. i cant even be mad as a firespots enjoyer, i admire the guy for being so hateable that he got a notoriously misogynistic fanbase to love a shitty woman
#I LIKE THEM BOTH BTW#do think its a liiiittle obnoxious how ppl are saying that crow is actually not that bad tho#like guys i know shes a good mom. she is a good mom. shes also a really shitty person lmao#these are not mutually exclusive statements#this is gonna be a horrible comparison but shes sorta like if th1st1lecl@w was actually interesting and good to me. obviously without#all that other shit#like she is a deplorable xenophobic person who mistreats her clanmates#but she also has loved ones and over the course of the story she genuinely mellows out. bc getting zapped by god would do that to you#its what makes her interesting! shes not a one dimensional evil leader just as firespots isnt a one dimensional villain#ESPECIALLY with his parallels to fishwhisker#idk tldr yayyyyyyy violence and maiming <3

One piece headcanon: Zoro is POSIC+
(POSIC+ : (the) Perception of Object Sentience, Individuality, and Consciousness)
I think his relationship and perception of things like his swords (which he see's as having distinct personalities and consiousness') aswell as his view of the going merry (chapter 327, last page) being just as sentient as usopp and luffy make it so i wouldnt consider it a streatch to interpret his character this way.
(further context) <- seriously check the tags on this out if you want a better explenation its so good.
#sorry i cant have original thoughts ever. but the tags the link leads to are just rlly good and i probably couldnt word it better myself#-honestly!#1pc#text#one piece headcanons#roronoa zoro#posic+#autistic headcanon#autistic zoro#<- i will however say that you could also attribute this as a part of neurodivergent-coding. as the personification of /hyperempathy toward#objects/ideas can be linked with autism (and synesthesia but thats off-topic)#which links to posic+ and osor#it could also just be a swordsman thing. in still pretty early on in the manga so im not AS confident on that statement#but considering the other two major swordsmen are MIHAWK and TASHIGI at this point... hm#but also his relationship with the going merry! he views her as just as sentient as usopp and luffy do#idk i feel like im just ascribing lables to things that just.. exist in canon lol#but as a posic+/objectum person myself i think this extra layer to his relationship with his swords (and merry) is very interesting!#ik this is a long shot but other objectum/posic+ zoro fans if you have any thoughts. any at all i would love to hear them!#psii.txt#also would like to mention thats posic+ and objectum/osor are not mutually exclusive! (though an osor reading of zoro is also an idea... 👀)

“transphobia hurts us all” is an analytical statement. It is making a claim about how a specific bigotry operates in the world, and its supposed analytical value is in revealing something about transphobia that appears on the surface to be counter-intuitive - “while you might think transphobia only hurts transgender people, that isn’t the case; it hurts cisgender people too.” The follow-up to this statement, sometimes implied and sometimes explicit, is a moral imperative - transphobia is a social ill that hurts us all, so we should seek to get rid of it.
This analytical-moral chain of logic isn’t unique to this statement; a lot of analyses of the social world come from a broader desire to “figure out what to do.” When we investigate a social phenomenon to uncover its inner workings, and in this investigation we identify the scope and impact of the harm it causes, we are in a better place to understand how to reduce harm in the world. Of particular interest in this investigation of transphobia is highlighting its illegitimacy - if transphobia also harms cisgender people, this is evidence of its illegitimacy as a social force in the world. We have uncovered some fundamental contradiction in the workings of bigotry, and this contradiction provides a rational ground for us to oppose it. Of course transphobia is irrational and must be opposed; it harms other groups of people who are not transgender.
This is also why people object to this statement on analytic grounds - disagreeing with the argument that transphobia hurts everyone is a critique of analysis. Importantly, it is not a dismissal of empirical evidence; we can see many direct real-world examples of cisgender people being targeted for transphobic abuse, such as cis people being attacked in bathrooms for “looking transgender.” A critique of the claim that transphobia hurts us all is a methodological critique, it is a critique of analytical framing; we are operating from the same set of social facts, but reaching different conclusions. The reason for this is because we are using different investigative and theoretical tools in our analysis. And these differences are not trivial; how we define the social phenomena under investigation directly informs how we understand the facts in front of us.
So first, we must settle the problem of definitions - what is transphobia? Simply defining it as a hatred of transgender people is insufficient for all parties. If it does indeed also hurt cis people, then this definition doesn’t do us much analytical good. Where do we go from here? Perhaps a better place to start is to investigate its origins - what assumptions does transphobia operate from? Where do those assumptions come from? This is where we start getting somewhere. Transphobia draws its core assumptions from cissexualism - the belief that there are two mutually-exclusive and irreconcilable sexes, sexes which are immutable and biologically hard-wired, meaning that it is a difference in human beings that exists independent of the social worlds that human beings build. This idea is bound up in many forms of power, one of which being patriarchy; yes indeed there are two sexes, and one of them is better than the other. And because sex is hard-wired, then patriarchy is likewise a simple fact of nature. These assumptions are also bound up in reproduction; one sex impregnates (this is the powerful sex) and one sex gets impregnated (this is the weak sex). These ideas and assumptions structure much of our social world, being embedded in many social, political, and economic institutions, from family to labour to dating to census records to political office, and so on.
Transphobia is thus an output of these logics - if sex is biological, and sex determines your place in society, then attempting to change your sex means you are thwarting the natural hierarchy of human beings. You are either trying to rise above your station, or abandoning your post. Either option is grounds for punishment. Why would you go against nature? How dare you?
So, transphobia is a bigotry that comes from cissexualism. We could investigate further where cissexualism comes from (and indeed those investigations are taking place), but for our purposes we now have a much more analytically rich definition. Transphobia is a social technology of discipline; it performs a regulatory function for the continuation of cissexualism, much the same way that misogyny is a regulatory apparatus of patriarchy, and homophobia is a regulatory apparatus of heterosexuality. These bigotries perform a very ‘rational’ social function; they reproduce existing forms of power by policing their borders and brutalising anyone who does not behave in accordance with their logics.
We now return to the original question: does transphobia harm everyone? This question now feels methodologically inappropriate, because we are ignoring the role cissexualism plays in producing transphobia. This is as absurd as describing homophobia without mentioning heterosexuality. The question should instead be: does cissexualism harm everyone? The answer of course is yes - we can see how cissexualism produces the social conditions for people to assault someone in a public bathroom for “looking transgender,” for an adult to force a child to report what their genitals ‘really look like’ so they can continue playing soccer, and for a billionaire to spend the latter half of her life dumping money and resources into political legislation that makes it more difficult to, among other things, correct administrative mistakes on your birth certificate.
But because we are now talking about cissexualism, it is much easier for us to see how its violence is differentially applied across groups. Cisgender people can point to their cisgenderism as grounds for being exempt from transphobia - “don’t target me, I haven’t done anything wrong! I’m following the rules!” Their societal position as cisgender allows them to argue that they are illegitimate targets, that they are being unfairly treated. This animated much of the surrounding discourse around Imane Khelif - I can’t believe JKR is targeting a real woman! Can’t you tell she’s biologically female? Here’s her birth certificate to prove it, and anyway, don’t you know it’s illegal to be transgender where she lives?
This is a defence that transgender people cannot mount for ourselves - we are by definition fraudsters in the cissexual regime of gender, we are abandoning our stations, we are perverting nature. And in this difference we come to see that it is not transphobia that harms us all, but cissexualism; we are all subject to scrutiny under cissexual surveillance, but cis people can generally pass the test. Transgender people cannot.
This distinction also has implications for the second sequence in this investigative chain: what do we do about transphobia? Again we see that this call to action is methodologically inappropriate - you cannot “deal with” transphobia in society while leaving the cissexualist structure that produces it intact, in the same way that getting rid of misogyny without first getting rid of patriarchy is impossible. You cannot get rid of an output without destroying the machine that produces those outputs. This is also where many cis people, even those who count themselves as trans allies, become uncomfortable; abandoning the idea of a metaphysical property of being, hard-encoded into their DNA, means abandoning a whole host of other ideas about identity, about social organisation, about institutional operations. Even minor reformist calls by transgender people, such as removing sex markers on birth certificates (which determine your ability to access all kinds of administrative and civil services), is met with intense hostility by cissexuals - how will we run our hospitals, how will we raise our children, how will we track population data, how will we do anything without sex markers? You people are insane! Look how you deny reality! What is wrong with you freaks? Why can’t you just be happy with the way you were born? And on and on, ironically refusing to concede the fact that states, hospitals, child care, and census data are not natural facts of the world and can be changed. Because if those things can be changed, perhaps sex is not this monumental biological destiny after all!
“Transphobia hurts us all” is an analytical statement that advances a set of cissexual assumptions about the world, and as a consequence, it is severely limited in its value for advancing a moral imperative about how to resolve the problem of transphobia. It is not a neutral statement, nor is one that is helplessly subservient to “the hard facts.” We know those facts - describing them is the role of the social scientist. Whether you are in a laboratory or on the street, you are doing social science by analysing social phenomena. And when you say transphobia hurts everyone, you are doing a poor job of it

SOMETHING DIFFERENT
harry styles x yn stylist — social media AU
I’ve been stuck with I dig your cinema for a while now, so I wanted to do something different to distract myself and somehow came up with this. Idk I just went along with this idea I had in mind and stopped when I reached the 30 pictures. Of course that means I didn’t get to finish it yet, but here it is anyway. Sorry if it sucks.

I know I'm going to get angry messages about this and I know I'm not going to express this perfectly, but I'm irritated and I don't care. (But I do want to preface it by saying this is not in any way about wizards. Fuck JKR.)
Friends. Neighbors. Especially the youths. I am BEGGING you.
Even if a piece of media is dated or does not align with today's standards of representation or progressive thinking, THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS NOT REVOLUTIONARY IN ITS' TIME.
And for some of us, that movie or book or tv show was pivotal. For some of us, that was a wake-up call or a catharsis we didn't know we needed or an empowering moment that changed our thinking. And for some of us, it was the only representation we had.
Does all of it hold up? Of course the fuck it doesn't! Because things CHANGE. Language changes. Culture changes. And, if we're lucky, things get better. We make progress. We get better representation. And of COURSE media that was made 30+ years ago isn't going to hold up if judged by today's standards. Even by the standards of the time, none of it was completely unproblematic.
BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS NEVER IMPORTANT.
Older media is a snapshot of the era in which it was made. It shows you where the movement was, what issues we were facing, and how they were being dealt with. AND it shows us just how far we've come.
You can enjoy a piece of media while still being critical of its' flaws. The two are not mutually exclusive and that's part of proper media literacy, which is apparently a dying art.
The things we consider revolutionary in terms of representation and making a statement now will be obsolete and antiquated in a few decades. And none of it is totally unproblematic even now, because nothing ever is. But that doesn't mean it doesn't matter. And by the same token, it doesn't mean that older media loses its' meaning to the people who saw it when it was relevant or at an important, pivotal time in their lives.
Consider also the sources. Who does it benefit for landmark pieces of queer and progressive media to be considered anathema? Who does it benefit to have these things marked as trashy, obsolete, no longer worth mentioning? Who does it benefit to have younger generations be ignorant of the history of civil rights movements because something might be "problematic"?
Put the moral puritanism down, put your critical thinking hat on, and learn the history, warts and all. If you don't like the movie, if you don't like the book, if you don't like the tv show, then leave it alone. It's not hard.
And I reiterate, because this is the piss on the poor website, THIS IS NOT ABOUT WIZARDS. IPs whose owners are presently causing active harm to vulnerable populations and taking advantage of literal children to do it are WILDLY different from a queer musical from the 1970s or a girl power flick from the early 2000s.
#i already know people are going to misinterpret this#i am prepared for the headaches#you watch - somebody's going to read this post and say it means the exact opposite of what i said

I like the thought that Celebrimbor puts a Fëanorian star on the Doors of Durin because it means he's made peace with his past; it's a sign he's let go of any bitterness and resentment he might - however justifiably! - hold towards his father and the rest of his family, and he's moving on.
But at the same time, I really like the idea that it's also a statement. That star is the device of the House of Fëanor, and he is the last member of that house still living in Middle-earth. And by putting the star on the West-gate, what he's saying, effectively, is: "I am the House of Fëanor now, I decide what our legacy in Middle-earth is to be, and I say this is what that house now stands for: friendship, inclusivity, co-operation, trust, peace."
And I don't think those two ideas are mutually exclusive. Often laying old ghosts is the necessary prelude to making that kind of positive change. And I do love the idea of Celebrimbor as someone who is constantly, consciously trying to do better.
#Lord of the Rings#The Silmarillion#Celebrimbor#something also about how - like his grandfather - his greatest work consists of three fantastic artefacts#but where Fëanor tried to hoard the Silmarils to himself and so lost them#Celebrimbor lets the Three go and so saves them#I just love him so much#T____T

I really like your blog and think 95% of your posts are v fun and nice to see! But you get really aggressive sometimes and I don't personally understand where you're coming from?
I'm assuming this is because things like 'chat is a new pronoun' and 'emojis are basically hieroglyphics' make sense to me? It seems like just basic human language evolving. Is y'all not a pronoun, then?
(this is entirely not meant in a disrespectful way though I absolutely see how it could be taken like that, it's just a bit strange to get a super antagonistic posts popping up on my timeline cause I followed a gimmick blog)
Anyway! The happy posts are v nice and fun to me but I'm also just some rando and am not expecting you to change, but if you do respond to this mostly I'm just asking: why you gotta be mean?
you're not gonna like this answer! it's gonna come off as mean!
in cases where my temper gets short, it's because i've been dealing with persistent bad-faith interpretation of attempts to use my own expertise. and, in fact, you're doing it now with that second paragraph. i have repeatedly explained why those statements are inaccurate and yet people keep popping up to say (devoid of evidence) that the misinformation makes sense to them and i should just shut up.
i genuinely try not to be antagonistic! i'm not out here bullying random people for lack of knowledge, and i approach genuine questions in good faith! but i have a doctorate in linguistics and it's absurd to think i'll let misinformation about my field go unaddressed when i'm functionally doing scicomm here.
gimmick blogging and responsible public education are not mutually exclusive.

Hey, I've read your post reply on the ask about the Standing together movement, and there you mentioned that it's incorrect to separate Palestinians and Jews and create a false dichotomy when speaking about liberating Palestine and anti-occupation movement. Could you please elaborate on that? It's a very interesting take that I haven't heard before yet.
So I generally don't understand why we are separating "Palestinian" and "Jews" with no potential for overlap between the two. By separating them, this implies, fundamentally, that there can be no Jewish Palestinians which... is not true. Just even historically, Jewish Palestinians exist and continue to exist.
Why are they mutually exclusive terms within their mission statement when they wish to "stand together"? And I'm not saying this in a condescending manner, I'm saying this because I know there are Palestinians who live in Israel who insist on being referred to as Palestinian. They won't let their Palestinian identity be erased under any circumstances. But they're the only group at risk of having that happen to them. Jewish people are not at risk of having their Jewishness erased for being Palestinian. So how can it be "standing together" when you acknowledge that there is a divide, societally, between perceptions of identity where one is at risk of total destruction by another and you, yourself, do not risk anything?
Where do Jewish Palestinians fall in this dichotomy, exactly? Does that mean no Palestinian will be able to convert to Judiasm without giving up their Palestinian identity? Are Jewish people just innately separated from Palestinians as a whole? If so, what is the thing that categorizes "Palestinian" in their eyes? Is it their religion? Well it can't be, because Palestinians have a diverse array of religions and like I said, people who identity as Palestinian and Jewish exist and are at risk of having their "Palestinian" erased in favor of their "Jewish" one.
Is it their ethnicity? Also can't be, because there is a vast array of ethnicities within Palestinian society. Unless they mean Palestinian=Arab, which is erasure. It erases Armenian Palestinians who play an integral part in Palestinian culture, for example.
So like what is the separation exactly? How are these mutually exclusive categories and how are we defining them? Unless, which is the reason that underlies all this, you mean to say that there is a difference between people who are Palestinians and people are Jewish innately in some unidentifiable manner?
Now, many Palestinians who have Israeli citizenship are not really subject to equal rights lol. And those rights are taken away *because* they are Palestinian. You have to acknowledge that. So when we say "Jewish and Palestinian" in a mission statement where you intend to """solve""" inequality, you're already setting that distinction in your mind that there is an actual difference between these people. So it's problematic in that vein.
But also, the group doesn't address the systematic abuses Palestinians face for YEARS, even before the Likud government. You can't erase that and attribute it to Netanyahu only. You have to address that the very system of Israel was founded on the mass expulsion and erasure of Palestinians, that includes Palestinian Jews.
But again, we have this dichotomy of "Jewish" and "Palestinian," setting into motion that "Palestinian" is somehow an identity that is separate from "Jewish." And through what definitions are we imposing that difference? Through... race science? Through cultural differences? Well, again, what about people who have cultural overlaps. Like if a nonJewish Palestinian marries a Jewish person who is not Palestinian and their child is growing up with both cultures? What does that mean for them? What does that mean for the two people who got married? And even Jewish Palestinians, are they having to give up their Palestinian side for marrying someone Jewish? Won't that cause further inequality within our groups? Isn't this separation just a nicer worded version of segregation in that way?
We have to acknowledge that it is within the state of Israel's interests, at their core, to separate these two identities. So by playing into this narrative, we're continuing the very colonization of history as they try to rewrite the past, implying that Jewish Palestinians especially were not considered a part of Palestinian culture and werent allowed to partake in it.
And it's just, to me, very racist to assume that there can't be overlap between these two types of people. It's happened in Palestine for centuries. But when Balfour comes in and is like "here you go, Jewish people of European cultural heritage, here is your homeland, nevermind the other people who have customs and traditions here, just do whatever you want and get out of Europe," everyone just nods their head like yeah that's reasonable. They didn't even try to learn Palestinian culture and life they just kicked us out. I'd argue that Palestinians would have welcomed Jewish immigrants who sought a safe homeland, so long as they didn't kick us out and enact nearly a century of violence. Palestine is the holy land for a reason! This land is the convergence of faiths and ideas and culture in such a unique way. Labeling it "Palestine" emphasizes that Palestinians are diverse and allow for an overlap of identities!
Essentially, when you try to separate groups of people like this, particularly when the separation of "Palestinians" (or more commonly referred to as "arabs" in Israeli society. Even our identities are erased to homogenize us) and "Jews," it makes it seem like Palestinians are fundamentally anti-jewish and antisemitic. And historically, just doesn't even make any sense.

It is incredible how many, particularly male, reviewers of The Acolyte will reference the interviews that Leslye has given and then BLATANTLY disregard or simply ignore literally everything that has been stated about Qimir/The Stranger because it simply does not fit with how they view "The Sith"
We have had the creator, the actor and the actress come out and state there was no manipulation. Yet, we still get people stating there was.
There wasn't.
People will also say that "Nah, he doesn't care about Osha. He's Evil."
Dude... they were literally conceived as soulmates. They are based on Dracula and Mina. You can be "evil" and in love, they aren't mutually exclusive.
Also, I don't think Qimir is "evil" but I digress.
They are really attempting to pick and choose what they want to take from Leslye's statements and then ignoring the rest. It’s wild.

begging for christians to remember jesus was jewish. like, that is an inescapable part of him. yeah he's also universal but like it's incredibly fucked up to say he would've been palestinian when that's factually not true
Hi, beloved, I agree with your first two sentences! I'm going to try to write this response as neutrally as I can, as I don't think answering this is the best place for me to elaborate on things unrelated to your specific statement. I am not an expert, but I don't think any of these paragraphs require expert information—though of course further nuance can be found elsewhere.
There are many different ways to look at calling Jesus Palestinian, and for much of my life I was not aware of them. I had always called him Palestinian—for instance, there are hymns I grew up singing that reference Palestine. This is not a new phenomenon, although of course knowledge and discussion of that term has increased in recent years, and currently is very tied to specific ideological and material conflicts. This was also not a political statement—neither a Palestinian nationalist, anti-Israel, or antisemitic one (do note that I am differentiating these positions)—especially because anything written before the founding of the modern state of Israel did not (and could not) take that into account.
It is common practice to reference where historical figures are from with what the land is now referred to—saying they were born in "modern-day ___." Bethlehem is currently annexed as part of the West Bank, so it is accurate to say he was born in modern-day Palestine—while this is obviously politically controversial, as some wish to make that land fully a part of Israel, and whether Palestine should be considered a legitimate state is not agreed upon, we can at least agree that is currently in a territory named Palestine.
To use the geopolitical language of his time, Jesus was a Judean (although the name Palestine was used for parts of that land by the Greeks previously, and the phrase "Jewish Palestine" is sometimes used). I would agree that it is inaccurate to say Jesus was Arab, which I think is what you're getting at. The modern ethnic identities of Middle Eastern peoples were not in place, and Islam had yet to unite areas the way it did later. I would agree that "Jewish" is the best way to refer to his ethnicity, and this was his category in the Roman Empire.
The people who call Jesus Palestinian for further reasons besides his hometown being in modern-day Palestine have a variety of opinions—some are Palestinian Christians who identify with his experience of hardship, some are nationalists who support reclaiming the entire land as Palestine, some find that the most historically encompassing term, etc. These reasons can obviously be antisemitic and an attempt to distance him from Judaism, but they can also be reclamations of a complicated identity or simplified/summarized historical reasons, and I don't think they're all "fucked up"—which brings me to the last thing I want to point out:
"Palestinian" and "Jewish" are not opposites, nor are they mutually exclusive. Of course the modern usage of Palestinian has been narrowed and tied to Arab ethnicity and Islam, but there are Jews living in Palestine, and furthermore, there are Arab Jews. Israel has a history of mistreating Arab (and African, and probably other categories of) Jews, even those who are Israeli. To call Jesus (or anyone) Palestinian is not inherently to erase his Judaism, and I think to say it is in fact erases the lived experience of Jewish people who are minorities even within their own faith. It is also to tie "Jewish" with "Israeli" inextricably, which makes it harder to have nuanced conversation, and binds all Jews to a state they have differing opinions on.
You can (and should) disagree with some of the reasons people call Jesus Palestinian, or you may not consider it the most accurate/relevant/useful way to describe him, but please leave some space for the word Palestine to be a reality, and allow the complicated history of a land to produce many ways to refer to the people who have lived there. And when people do introduce more political reasons into the conversation, those experiencing genocide finding solidarity in their religious figure being born in the place where they live is not my priority right now—especially when there are actually people being actively antisemitic in their politics.
These are discussions that others more knowledgeable/relevant than me have had, and I will link some examples and sources below.

hmmmmmmm much discourse on TikTok about Suzanne Collins rn. It's very possible to acknowledge that Suzanne Collins did not put as much thought about race into The Hunger Games as people claim she did WITHOUT shitting on Black and Indigenous and other fans of colour who were advocating for our personal interpretations of those books and made pariahs in the fandom because of it. Also, the hunger games and the way people talk about it is reminding me more and more of discussions about The Handmaid's Tale. In both cases, people act like this is the only speculative fiction story available as a way to put it above critique, or as a means to centre Atwood/Collins' over any marginalised authors in the genre. There are other works that deal with the same or similar subject matter: Battle Royale, Chain Gang All Stars, etc, that are written by people of colour. But thg fans who claim to care about race related critiques of the hunger games never even bring up these books. Instead, they use critiques of Collins' messy portrayals of race to be shitty about who gets cast in the films. Idk why "the hunger games was/is a seminal speculative text for a generation of readers" and "the hunger games is ultimately limited by the author's whiteness and liberal politics" are treated as mutually exclusive statements. Discussions about The Hunger Games would be so much more interesting and effective if fans a) read more books b) had any semblance of genre awareness/media literacy and c) weren't so fucking racist. It's so insane that a white woman writes a bunch of books where she refuses to make race as explicit as class but somehow the people who cop the most flack for that are Black fans and fans of colour who just wanted to see themselves in the story meaningfully.

Understanding 12th House Synastry
(*updated* and more accurate post about about 12th house synastry overlays along with Neptune synastry that makes harsh aspects to another's inner planets such as the Sun, Moon, rising, Venus or Mars)
This post focuses exclusively on a 12th house relationship between two kind and evolved individuals. While there are other darker themes associated with 12th house synastry — such as deception, substance abuse, hidden affairs (like being the other woman or mistress), lies about one partner’s true nature, or fear that one partner is withholding information or their true self — I won’t be discussing those here. Here is a link to a post about how these darker themes may manifest: Click Here
“Though I barely know you, it feels as if I do. Your eyes and body language seem to speak your thoughts, even the ones I can’t fully grasp. There’s no visible thread connecting us, yet this feeling remains.” — Planet Person
There are two sides of 12th house synastry that I commonly see. The spectrum is different compared to the 8th house because with the 8th house, there are highs and lows, obvious extremes, there's oftentimes constant lessons, cycles and loops, but with the 12th house, there's a different undertone.
The 12th house is a very unforeseen house, when it comes with synastry, the spectrum of love that can be received and given is unfathomable. I am going to first discuss what this energy is like when someone deals with this type of synastry while having Neptune (especially harshly) aspecting their inner planets/12th house placements/Pisces placements; then I will go in-depth for how they would feel without those placements.
(that being said my main discussion deals with the foundation of both individuals having attraction or interest on both ends, as well as other intense synastry overlays such as harsh or soft attraction synastry aspects, + eros, lilith, chiron, pluto, or 8th house synastry)
As a 12th house native or with heavy Pisces influence (e.g., a Pisces Venus, Sun, Moon, rising, or with a natal Neptune squaring, opposing or conjunct the Sun, Moon, rising, Venus) this type of synastry is confusing, it's blurry and parts of you can second guess almost everything about them, what you are to them, what they are to you etc. There are no tangible boundaries when it comes to the emotional depth you are willing to feel for them. On some days you can find yourself wondering where you stand with them, you fixate on their energy, and you'll wonder if they're thinking of you. You look into their eyes and just feel their mental health struggles, their fears, their hidden thoughts, what they need to hear to feel seen past the 3D. You're like a walking and breathing affirmation audio tape of everything their subconscious always wished to of heard throughout life. That one broken image or belief they have within their subconscious self is the one thing you can't help but compliment them on, the feelings they ignore, suppress or hide away are the feelings you want to naturally reassure them about. It's like you become this real life 3D fixer upper for this individual, and you just can't help but be drawn with saving, helping, or fixing them. (undoubtedly so if you also fall in their 2nd house, especially your inner planets, if there is no 2nd house influence then the compliments/praising will be less intense or frequent)
The beginning of this synastry embodies confusion. Since there's no real tangible statement or understanding you can hold onto. You'll just know how they operate before ever really knowing them.
You'll just want to make sure that they are okay, and that can come in many different ways, you yourself will just know. You can turn into this savior that they never knew they needed, you'll just want to give and love everything out of them; and in some cases receiving or having that mutual give and take may be something you think you don't need, especially when it comes to them, and especially if you have a natal 12th House Venus or a Pisces Venus/a Natal Venus that squares, conjuncts or opposes Neptune (this can apply to the Moon as well).
If the above scenario resonates with you, then this individual is provoking a wound within yourself that deals with the acceptance of receiving authentic love. This innate need to only give highlights your own fear of receiving real reciprocal, stable, tangible love.
Therefore if you want to save, fix, heal or give, this desire only highlights that fearful nature within you where you allow to stay in shallow waters. You subconsciously know that you have such passionate love to give, but that thought of giving to someone who in turn might be willing to give back evokes fear and uncertainty within you.
This subconscious block holds more comfortability within you since it allows you to never accept a love where your soul will fully be fulfilled. It's self sabotaging and self written, you naturally already know how the story will end between you two, and so you subconsciously will find a character who perfectly embodies the story you yourself say you try to run from.
To reiterate; if you share the above placements you instantly can become drawn towards the house person. You will look at them and see every facet of their being, their hidden pain, their sorrows, why they feel the way they do, why they struggle the way they struggle, their mental health dilemmas, their soul; especially so if you as well have a water Moon that harshly aspects Neptune as well as the above listed placements. But these feelings don't persist automatically or openly, the desires the planet person or the one person who has the placements I listed/spiritual enlightenment + attraction towards the house person (or the other person) stays at bay and stays being unsaid, especially in the beginning. The planet person with these placements etc etc, can hold onto constant dilemmas and wonder if what they are feeling is real, if what they desire is one sided, especially if there is little to no communication between the dynamic.
On the other side of the spectrum, this bond (when wanted on both ends) can create a soul binding connection where the house person would feel like no one else can ever understand them the way the planet person can. No one else would be able to read them like the book they secretly are, no one else can look into their eyes and bring solace into their bones, which in-turn can cause the dynamic between them to consistently become something that is impossible to let go of.
With attraction + desire the house person may feel like a hug from the planet person* (or vice versa) is equivalent to receiving a sense of understanding and safety that they weren't aware they ever needed. The house person may just find themselves fully being able to lay and hold onto the planet person* and there's this unsaid desire just be next to them. The planet person* may instinctively feel this pull or knowing that there is a softer more serene side of the house person that not everyone see's and even though there's no tangible words to hold onto, that feeling within them doesn't dissipate. Just with one hug from the house person and the planet person* will know that there's a soft and quiet side inside them that they hide or suppress away.
* = placements I listed + spiritually understanding/enlighted
The house person will ask themselves: How do I let go of the one soul who speaks to the parts of myself that I don't even know? The intensity of the bond can vary based on each others natal placements, but I do believe the connection can become deep and unworldly even without the placements I've listed since attraction and desire are two KEY factors that would override any natal placement. Instant psychic understanding about one another on both ends (regardless of natal placements) can occur, you both will know what the other person is thinking, feeling, and needing. If there is genuine desire for one another then the depth of care can become very ethereal and unspoken, especially if the Moon or Venus are involved; if attraction is present and you have the placements I mentioned, a part of you will just want to hold onto the house person. You'll just want to comfort and be present in the moment with them. All that matters to you is that they are doing and feeling okay, with them this part of you unlocks where you just want to caress their soul. But like I said natal placements do have an immense influence, one individual could feel this pull and understanding (w/o the placements I mentioned) but the depth and length for caring may not run as deep as someone else who has the natal placements I listed. They will still care in some shape or form in ways they never knew was possible; but the turnover of moving on or of minimizing selfless acts can become more shallow and less frequent throughout time.
🆘 REMINDER: With this synastry there's a chance that a codependent nature might manifest by you over emphasizing redemption with no boundaries. If there is solid exchangeable love, a part of you may believe there is always more good than bad within them or within the relationship, and so their wrongdoings or unacceptable behavior to you or to others somehow receives justification or more understanding than he or she should receive. (especially if you also share 8th house synastry with them). As well as it's important to understand that if there is this innate understanding given by one partner that's always present when there shouldn't be, that's when the relationship can become overwhelming, or draining. Just because you know, understand or empathize with the other partner's actions or patterns doesn't make their actions okay
Now this type of synastry can also begin the influence of delusion or false presumptions. Genuineness and self awareness is key, not everyone will desire such depth of the unknown especially if they themselves have no set understanding of their own subconscious beliefs.
To reiterate, if this is one sided therefore if they don't share attraction or desire for you; then this type of behavior will feel invasive and they may become confused or unsure with what to do with that type of depth that your eyes can bring them, if they are unaware of their own shadow self, along with not wanting to change or be spiritually awoken, this type of connection can be daunting and misleading in some way for them.
Now lets go deeper: for someone who doesn't have any 12th house Venus, Pisces Venus, Neptune influence (or if you have little to no attraction or interest towards them), or low spiritual awareness/acknowledgement of your own mental health struggles/hidden fears and if someone comes in to your life where they fall in your 12th house, the feelings that acclimate mainly are confusion, resistance or hesitation. You might have some hidden curiosity about the planet person but generally the curiosity can be the furthest you go with this individual. There might be some hidden tension or eye glances towards another but with it there is also a barrier between the two of you. You may feel like you know their body language or what their eye glances mean but you more than likely brush it off and set aside any spiritual coincidences that you have with them. You may also wither back and forth between being more inclined to getting to know them to being unsure with your interest in them or there's a sense of unpreparedness you may struggle with when it comes to this individual. A part of you may feel like their type of love can sooth parts of you that you ignore or mentally struggle with but that type of care can feel unneeded and can bring in fear; since there is a unspoken knowing of what they are able to truly view and feel for you if they were your partner. You may ask yourself, "Can this person fix, and heal me? " "Do I really need to be saved?" "Is this all in my head?" "Can they be the pacifier for the pain I can't even openly express; or will they bring me more sorrow?"
(this dilemma of curiosity is more apparent if you share other direct intense synastry aspects such as 8th/pluto/intense attraction aspects especially with eros or lilith etc)
Another strong note I wanted to state is how often times with 12th house and Neptune synastry; the reason why this is the house of "hidden enemies" or there's horror stories where one partner hid addiction, lies, another woman or their true agenda towards the other partner is because this type of synastry can genuinely cloud judgment and hinder honest communication. There is often hidden uncertainty or a lack of awareness of what is really going on, primarily because this dynamic makes it easy to fall "victim" to a false persona. This happens when you're unaware of your own wounds, patterns of self-undoing, or fears surrounding with receiving reciprocal love. While I'm not going too in-depth with these themes—since, in my opinion, they deserve their own post—I want to reiterate the importance of staying grounded, aware, and avoiding getting lost in illusions or overthinking about someone who you know won't (or can't) change.
That being said, if there is a connection where one person has these natal placements and desires for the other individual but the other partner doesn't share the same attraction/placements; then that is when unrequited love or unspoken love can occur. To summarize, for 12th house and neptune synastry to be mutual even if the other partner doesn't have those natal placements, there has to be attraction or desire; whether it be physical, or emotional. Someone could have these placements that I've listed but if there is no want, attraction or desire towards the other person; the dynamic can also become one sided on their end even with the placements and tendencies of being drawn towards connections that share 12th/neptune/pisces influence.
12th house synastry is the house of selflessness, this is the house of giving and giving to no end; since in one essence this house holds no end or beginning, therefore the boundaries and understanding that this house can carry is unknown. Each dynamic with 12th house synastry can be complexed, there are many factors that play a role in influencing this type of connection such as your natal placements, their natal placements, your natal aspects, their natal aspects, your desire and attraction and their desire and attraction and so on. Someone could sit in this confused and undesired energy for the other person for months and have all the placements I've listed. Therefore if that said individual is not prepared or have any desires to hold a connection that is deep and unspoken, they themselves (the planet person or the person who has 12th house/neptune/pisces influence) may even still feel fear or invasiveness towards the other individual that their share 12th house synastry with or vice versa; there are so many avenues and routes these connections can take, at least that's from my own astrological understanding and take on these type of connections.
Side Note: To balance the intensity these synastry aspects/overlays bring, taking on the opposite houses themes would bring more ease and create less intensity.
For example, dealing with 12H (Even Neptune) synastry, the opposite house is the 6H, the house of routine, daily life, mundane affairs, healthcare, helping others/giving etc etc. So to ease this type of fixation this synastry can cause, focus and enhance your own skills when it comes to your physical/mental health. Add more day to day to activities that solely focuses on changing your routine; however big or small. That will ease the fixation that 12H and Neptune synastry brings. This synastry can cause you to daydream or obsess over them, and since you may have this innate need to be their savior that wants to try and fix their wounds, the chance of putting yourself in situations where your priority is solely them is very likely. You could also fantasize and have an escapist attitude with them, (or the idea of them) therefore, they can serve as an escape for you; by focusing on their pain and struggles might cause you to forget about your own mental health challenges. You also might repeat scenarios in your head or fantasize about situations happening; especially since you might feel confused/hazy with where you stand with them, therefore keeping yourself busy is key with this synastry, and that will create more control within you.
P.S
This is all from my own interpretation of 12th house synastry, I would confidently say I am a very very introspective person at heart, I read between the lines constantly and overly fixate on behavior etc and this synastry still clouded my own judgment and understanding for years; it brought in tendencies for me to doubt my true feelings and curiosity, only until I more so let go of the relationship that I am referencing (the boy where I have 8th house synastry with) was the only time I was able to fully look outside my situation with him when it came to my actions and feelings. The constant back and fourth dilemma I struggled with when it came to knowing him and who he was was constant yet truly instant. My soul knew him before my brain did and because of that knowing I was unsure and unconfident with the type of feelings that persisted in the dynamic I shared with him. I have made so many posts about 12th house synastry but I can confidently say that this current post is now the most accurate representation of what can occur between these relationships.
Hope this brings some clarity and understanding for others who have dealt with 12th house and Neptune synastry; if not disregard and again this type of synastry is truly nuanced and multifaceted.
If this resonates with you I have an eBook that perfectly depicts and explains if you are in a karmic relationship. It's about 8th/12th/Pluto/Neptune/Saturn/Vertex/Nodal synastry. I give insights, exact transits, exact synastry overlays, natal chart interpretations and more advice on what to do in these situations. More information is pinned on my page.

I'd really love to see a source that states viewing alters as individuals/seperate people is anti-recovery.
let's be very clear. viewing alters as individuals and knowing you're all part of one collective are NOT mutually exclusive.
there is nothing that angers me more than the statement "your alters are all you"
now time for some anecdotal evidence, my favourite! 😋
the alters in our systems are individuals. everyone has their own name (which they pick), those who choose to make pk to talk on our discord have it, everyone has their own pronouns and how they like to be referred, gender identities and sexualities. they all have a different way they view themselves and everyone gets to draw themselves! (when they want to of course)
but while we are also individuals, we are Plura and Plura is all of us. We have dreams for Plura, Plura will work as youth support worker part time and have a youtube channel too. Plura will live in a nice house with their wife Zoey and Plura will have a lot of pets they love. Plura will also spend their free time rescuing and fostering stray animals. every single one of us is happy for Plura's future and to be involved.
and see that's what letting every alter be treated and viewed like an individual does for us. we care for each other and we all feel valued and respected which helps communication. i heard that treating alters the way we treat each other increases dissociation and this is something that makes absolutely no sense to me. we talk and we solve problems together, we share memories to reduce confusion when someone hasn't been fronting.
now this is just my opinion but i believe all those posts talking about this are simply just the poster's opinion based on their personal recovery journey. and since there's never sources to back up those claims id say those people are pretty fucking shitty for trying to pass off opinions as facts.

God I'm so annoyed by both Eddie defenders AND Eddie haters rn
On one hand, Eddie is grieving just like Buck is and they're not talking about it so yes it's going to explode and I think we should give Eddie the same grace we give Athena and use Karen's words "you're grieving so fair can mind it's damn business"
On the other hand, this isn't an isolating incident, Eddie has been a lot meaner to Buck this season than he has ever been since the infamous grocery store fight and some of it was even before Bobby's death so we can't just blame it on his grief. And it's been established that Eddie has anger issues and he usually takes responsibility for it and tries to rectify it but with Buck, Buck usually is the one to apologize and actually say the words "I'm sorry" and Eddie doesn't. Did he call himself a dick and bring Christopher to cheer Buck up? Yes and tbh I don't think that's very nefarious like ppl are making it out to be. It's his own way of apologizing. But does that mean it's an actual apology? No. And in this instance they really needed to apologize and talk about it since the whole reason Eddie got mad at Buck in the first place was that Buck wasn't talking about it
Can Eddie be super unhealthy and prone to get angry and mean? Yes! Just as Buck can be unhealthy too. Can aspects of Buck's and Eddie's friendship be unhealthy and toxic? Also yes but on BOTH sides. Now, do I think Eddie emotionally hurts Buck more than Buck emotionally hurts Eddie and that their relationship is unbalanced? Yeah I do
HOWEVER, does that make Eddie abusive? Absolutely not!! Fuck off with that bullshit!
Eddie has never been physical with someone since the fight club when he was at one of his lowest points and almost killed a dude and realized he doesn't want to be that guy. Also, that was, somewhat, a controlled environment where there were two consenting adults fighting.
It really rubs me the wrong way how people are calling a Latino man abusive and violent (when that's a REALLY racist stereotype) but then some in turn want a white man (Tommy) to threaten violence on him bc of that. Like y'all do you hear yourselves????
Also out of the two, Buck has been the one to (unintentionally) physically hurt Eddie (but y'all aren't ready for that conversation yet)
Anyways, Eddie Diaz is a flawed human (like every single character on this damn show) who I still love very much and there are things that have been REALLY irritating about his character lately that I desperately need them to address and have him grow more (mainly his anger issues and how he treats and invalidates Buck). Both statements aren't mutually exclusive.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
