recent manga diary
- okay starting to read love bullet now.. the art honestly looks incredible im totally digging the art style 👁👁
- speaking of yuri im also reading erio and the electric doll. this is the new manga ive read the most of recently. it's a bit like kino's journey, mixed with yokohama kaidashi kikou, and pluto (naoki urasawa, and by extension, astro boy too). it tells of a post-war world in which androids destroyed a large chunk of humanity. because of that, people have taken to regressing to a pre-electricity world - into the world of steam. two girls walk away from their idyllic, albeit isolated life by the coast, in search of finding other humans and travel the world together. it has some really interesting world building and discusses some morally grey topics regarding humanity, war, and artificial intelligence.
- you might know the artist as the one who did a lot of work for final fantasy 14. the art is beautiful, with delicate linework, and a prominent steampunk aesthetic.
- going back to the yuri part - the main cast consists of a young teen and an android. the human girl has the power to create electricity, and so she charges her android by kissing her. they can charge via touching hands, but no they have to kiss. very cute.. i hyped it up but LMAO i don't know if i can recommend it for romance per se, as it's more platonic right now, but it's still a very charming read!
- i think this series would look so gorgeous if it came to life in an anime adaptation.. manifesting a steampunk anime in 2k25
- also started to read kageki shoujo, it's really fun so far!! those are my only thoughts on it for now. i haven't read a shoujo in so long i think.. might have to watch the anime adaptation as well, as i heard the animation is quite good.
- i also wanted to get into requiem of the rose king for the longest time, the brooding, gothic aesthetic totally looks up my alley, and the medieval politics looks interesting too. the pacing is a bit choppy, but idk if that's due to the poor fan translation, will have to source it from the library if i can..
- still catching up to medalist and shadows house, haven't read witch hat atelier in a while.
- caught up to skip and loafer 🥰 i wrote about it in some older diary entries, but it's literally so good. i really need to draw some skip loaf sometime..
- almost done the extra stories from emma.. and that's all folks!!

heyooo, first and for most i hope u doing good, don't forget to be kind to yourself yeah?!
so i just wanted to put u on something, if you want it ofc: what do you think would make sylus blow off emotionally? he always seems so collected even in times of stress, so that concept seems so foreign, but at the same time hes only human (...maybe?). im super curious about ur insight, especially when your view on him seems literally canon.
have a good day beautiful and thank you for ur art!!
hello my love hehe i am doing well <3
HMMMM really good question! so i definitely think sylus is nearly always calm and collected but you have him WRAPPPPPED around your finger and the few times he will lose it is when you are involved
but not the simple stuff like “oh if you’re in danger” i think above anything sylus trusts you and also really respects you. like ofc he doesn’t want you to get hurt and wants to protect you but he knows he doesn’t NEED to. he’s the most powerful, and the partner he chooses would be no different.
i think sylus loses it when someone disrespects you. touching you inappropriately, speaking ill of you? dead. but it’s beyond him like being jealous, it’s more that sylus holds you to the HIGHEST esteem, and he expects every one else too as well. sylus is self assured so him losing it would have less to do with feeling insecure or jealous but more to do with thinking someone is WRONGing you. (but don’t get me wrong he fucking hates it when someone touches what’s his 🥸)
i do also think sylus will lose his composure if the people he cares about are involved. so luke and kieran!! he definitely plays big brother/dad to them. so if anyone messes with them? DEAD. he’s protective, but not over protective. he trusts those around him, because he only surrounds himself with those that are worthy.
i think sylus just loses it when he’s not in control. his evol is all about control, his position as leader of the onychinus. so he tends to be extra vulnerable if you some how get him drunk or high, if you put him in a situation where he genuinely loses any sense of control (take away any of his senses, he’s extra responsive)
so think any situation he can’t control: when he couldn’t get you to resonate with him, when he mephisto can’t find you (so he doesn’t know what’s going on), when you force him to sit back and watch 🫡
this is very much a word and thought vomit i’m sorry if it’s incoherent 😭

Tenderness in hands.
Tenderness lives in the hands. A simple touch holds much power—the power to heal, the power to comfort, the power to ease. When I gently place my hand on another, the warmth of my fingers long to soothe a troubled heart. A gentle caress speaks volumes where words fall short.
Arms wrapped around a loved one.
Tenderness in hands.
A mother's fingers running through her daughters hair untangling them.
Tenderness in hands.
A friend holding your hand, guiding you through the crowd to a place they think you'd admire.
Tenderness in hands.

they will need to whipstitch the wound closed, but embroidery is a "woman's" task. they will need to eat and clean and mend clothes, but why learn basic things when you can have a woman measure out your life in beads. he will be the "head" of your house, but if you want him to act accordingly, you must assign him a list of all applicable activities. you will be otherwise constantly in charge of almost-everything; so he will lead the house he is absent from.
in movies and books, the "cool" girl will be more-like-a-man. she will be "less boring," more "fun". she will have masculine ideas and masculine talents, which means a man doesn't have to change in order to find her fascinating. she will disdain of something as simple as stitching. how boring!
she will kick open the door of a car and quip what, girls can't drive? and flip her long hair down one side. she will grill and shoot a gun and skydive. be a guy. she will be sexualized.
somewhere, working on computers becomes a masculine task, and now on tv a gen-z disney character throws her hands up in the air. i can't be a computer science nerd, i'm a girl! in the real life, she will be unable to sit through some of her classes, shivering when she realizes she is the only woman present in several of them.
how many times have you read this book and seen this show and watched this movie. the singular woman is allowed 5 lines because she's not just smart! she's also pretty! she is surrounded by 20 average men, but she is stunning. she is the exception to the bland, pale lives of women-at-home, who will never be shown. she likes dirt and motorbikes and blood and shows up in a tiny dress during the final scene, rolling her eyes at our male lead's incredulity - just because i like motorcross doesn't mean anything. i'm still a woman, okay? i actually like shopping.
it is almost never reversed, and you think about that often. it is vanishingly rare to have a single man in a cast of women. the male love interest does not show up at a feminist march and sardonically squint at our leading lady - what? you thought only women care about human rights? he does not know how to balance a checkbook or kickbox because i grew up with three sisters.
when he cooks he is a chef, which is sexy. when he cleans, he's being kind, genteel. when he nurtures his family, confetti rains from the ceiling. when she does these things: it is her duty and her identity. what do you mean she has other passions and hobbies? isn't her hobby and passion homemaking?
the other day a friend embroidered a seam closed on your jacket into the shape of ivy. every time you touch it, you think of her.
something about women's hobbies and art and skills. something about women's work.
