the fact that i havent been able to find any eldritch horror stuff(aside from like one fic on ao3) written about the dark urge character yet is criminal. durge is quite literally a pureblooded child of a dead god and i cant stop thinking about it, but i cant really find anyone else exploring that in their writing. i love all the people writing their durges as just murdery little weirdos who have something severely wrong with them, but like...
give me a dark urge that no matter what shape they take, their form has teeth and claws befitting a predator. too-sharp teeth lurking behind a face not made to keep them, designed to shear through flesh and crack bone. give me a durge that's just plain unnerving to be around even beyond the murderousness and religious fanaticism that Bhaal's Chosen holds. Like, in silent rooms, if you listen carefully enough, faint whispers of the urges within their profane blood seep into the air—unintelligible but still undeniably present. A shadow that pools beneath their feet like the blood they leave in their wake. a constant scent of copper that follows them around, no matter how clean they are. Seeing them from the corner of your eye and for a split second you swear you saw tan hide and thick black horns.
idk. just...it feels like theres a lot im that genre of stuff that could be done!!
Let us send them without wings so none suspect they are angels.
the heart of what angels essentially are: divine machines. they’re mechanisms through with the divine is able to act, created with a purpose and “happy” to fill it simply because they were made to do so. they have more in common with a machine programmed to run on algorithms and make calculations based on input commands than they do with humanity, even if they bear a human visage - an attempt by the divine to help bridge the gap. angels do not need to be eldritch monstrosities to be terrifying, because they are already alien to us simply by being angels. for an angel to choose to deviate from their purpose and achieve free will is to fall because in order to have free will they can no longer be an angel, because an angel is defined by its purpose. much like the stories we tell of robots that gain sentence, only to discover that they can never truly be human, but neither can they go back to being a machine, angels who fall become something else entirely, purposeless and adrift and alone. it is a tragic sacrifice.
i literally cant think too much about scara & collei because otheriwse i start getting so mad and nauseous about how collei was treated in game and specifically in the archon quest
I just realized how absolutely fucked Hallows' spell list is. She's got 3 classes and has 4 spellcasting abilities and only half of them actually line up with each other. She has wizard spells but isn't a wizard because she's a rogue that happens to be kind of a wizard. She casts cleric spells despite having exactly 5 (-3) wisdom and somehow they're still actually effective as spells because her Goddess looked at her and said "she's stupid as shit but she's funny and my special little guy. My blorbo. My silly rabbit. So as my priestess-in-training she can cast whatever spells she wants thank you goodbye <3" and let her use her charisma stats for cleric spellcasting. She also has sorcerer spells- one of the two classes that actually match- because said goddess is also the only reason she's alive like MULTIPLE times over. Hallows wouldn't have even been born without her Goddess' help but Hallows is very unaware of how much it looks like she is just fucking DETERMINED to die constantly over and over again for literally no reason. She just keeps putting herself in Situations. The only other spells/class combo that actually matches up is being an Artificier and it's mostly just flavor for why she uses her silly little tommy gun that doesn't actually get used as a gun 99% of the time and is just a funny spellcasting focus for her. What the hell is wrong with her
mental illness moment at the doctors office yesterday left 12 dead and 20 injured but all made a miraculous recovery from illness and death when i went in today and they used appropriate care + compassion and prescribed me an impromptu anxiety script
