sun seemed brighter, and it didn't hurt their eyes, the fragrance of flowers seemed to have a deeper smell, to have a story in between the petals.

"okay, okay, okay" she breathed out while laughing "so you" she signaled miguel, not her miguel "are telling me, that you once shaved your hair off?!" she chuckled, struggling to breathe

"it was a tradition, a ritual when you entered la universidad " he tried defending himself, really embarrassed about it

"but still, a tradition might be having a party, or inheriting something" she explained "not shaving your head!" she tried to hold in her laugh, miguel huffed and looked away.

"at least i burnt any evidence of it, so no one will believe you"

"what are you talking about boss? i have the picture right here!" lyla appeared and held up a phone, with a picture of a younger miguel, with a shaved head

"lyla!" he yelled, trying to catch the artificial inteligence y/n was hollering in laughter,, trying to compose herself

"lyla send me that picture."

"no!"

"done, miss ninety nine!"

"NO!" she laughed when he tried to reach for her phone

"calmate miggy" she made a reference to luis miguel with the name, which irked miguel as she ran and held her phone tighly "your secret is safe with me" he grunted and tried to grab her

"and the whole spider society"

"NO!" he roared, he ran, grabbed her, and webbed her like a cocoon

"hey!" he plucked the phone out of her grasp and deleted the picture. he felt weird when he saw the background picture, it was him and her, in their wedding, she looked beautiful and well, he looked diferent, he looked slimmer, and lean, less than bulky.

it was a weird and a churning feeling in his guts

as if he wondered what would've happened if he was the one who met y/n first, before miguel b.

"you done with deleting the picture?"

"yes" he let her go.

life for y/n was getting more complicated

miguel had invited been invited to a gala, which meant that she had to go dress shopping, and who was best to ask than the variant of her husband? she wanted to surprise her miguel with a dress he would like, and she hoped that maybe maybe,

her miguel would be her's again.

"which store should we go to first?" he grunted, he was wearing a leather jacket and a baseball cap, plain jeans and a scowl "i don't want to be confused with me of here."

“ay Miguel, have some patience will you?” she breathed out, while glaring at him

“i’m just saying, what’s so special about this gala?” he pushed his aviator glasses down his nose, and looked into her eyes, his brown reddish hue staring in a questioning manner.

“i just wanna go pretty ¿sabes?” she tried to excuse herself, but his pupils minimized, as if he was trying to catch any glint of dishonesty in her gaze, but after holding it for some seconds, he blinked and looked away.

“fine, let’s get you the stupid dress”

as they walked around the mall, they saw some alternatives, some better some worse, but none catched their eye.

miguel sat in one of the couches while people wait for their partners, friends or even relatives to come out of the dressing room, he was sitting in a comfortable position, his leg crossed ninety degrees against his other leg, where his foot rested, he was waiting for y/n to come out, she had chosen a variety of dresses, of colors and types of material, she came out in various, she looked good in everyone, the problem was that the dress wasn’t perfect.

miguel rested his chin in his fist, looking away while waiting for her to come out but one thing roamed his mind

why was y/n so worried about the dress?

was it that she was genuinely interested in looking good?

or was it for her husband?

at the thought of that, miguel pursed his lips

he definitely didn’t liked her husband

“miguel?”

he snapped out of his trance and entered another one,

you looked beautiful.

“is it good?”

“it’s perfect” he stood up and faced her, the normally confident and intimidating líder suddenly felt too big and tall to exist, so he quickly grabbed two flats and two high heels

“w-which one?” she smiled and choose the shoes she wanted

“thanks for accompanying me miguel, you’re a real one” she laughed, while miguel carried her dress and shoes in the bag, they walked across the mall while talking

“don’t worry about it.” he simply said, still awkward from the moment he saw her in the dress, it was the perfect one.

“how about we go to eat? my treat” she smiled he nodded while looking down, they walked a bit more while she talked about her interests and her work life, when they passed a shoe store, he saw something that made his mouth go

“no fucking way” she stopped talking and looked where his gaze rested “is that..”

“some jordans?”

“no no no” he corrected her, while looking flabbergasted “those are the prowler j’s! i loved them as a kid” he rambled “I always wanted to buy ones but when I finally got enough money to buy them they were canceled!” y/n could bet that he had stars in his eyes

after some moments in silence she said

“c‘mon, miggy, let’s get them” while grinning, she walked to the store’s door and miguel followed her, as they entered the store, they were greeted by millions of shoes that were canceled in miguel’s dimension.

“you don’t have my size?” he asked intimidatingly to the helper

“sadly no sir, but we have these other ones” he showed while slightly trembling

“it’s okay” he said while looking away, if you squinted enough at him you could see a pout. she smiled at the helper

“thank you”

“c’mon miguel I have the thing that’ll cheer you right up”

“no no wait, you’re telling me that miguel b, is me but, a snob?” he asked laughing at y/n while eating in a hamburger restaurant, each one was eating a hamburger (vegan if you want, and with no bacon cuz I like to be inclusive like that)

“sadly, it seems that in this dimension, your father took you in, and as a reaction-“

“my dna never got altered, but wait, how did you became a spider ninety nine?”

“alchemax never learns, they tried experimenting on spiders again, and surprise surprise! one got away and bit me while i was on tour with my college.”

“ah” he ate a fry “so, how did you and miguel meet?”

“we were like peter parker and harry osborn” she sipped her drink and moved her hand as a way of explaining “y’know what happened, friends blah blah rivals blah lovers, bam! married.”

"and how are you guys right now?"

"well" and the dishonesty was clear in his face

"no problem, just" he sighed "stay out of trouble, okay?"

Tubbo: So this Grumbot created this rift and his destruction made it fall apart?

something about Fusionsprunt that i often think about, is this contrast between human conscience and artificial inteligence, in which one of them is far more 'genuine' than the other, therefore valid. in the original context, Hunter is a human man whose brain was tranferred into the skull cavity of a robotic body, while B2 is an android manufactured to undergo the human experience in an attempt to answer the question 'how far can technology go, until you're unable to discern a man from a robot'.

when i think about these two characters living their everyday lives, turns out both are selfish, reckless, mean and stubborn, and that is comforting to me. both are making mistakes and being embarassing and not realizing it until later.

that's why, i don't like the thought that Hunter, a 'genuine' conscience, taught anything about living to B2, that he acted as some kind of mentor or guide. idk if he was ever asked to try he'd wait 5 minutes and ago fuck it i have no fucking clue. not to mention he wasn't there when she was created. he did acknowledge her existence, but he never doubted her capacity to feel or experience sorrow and frustration — though he did, unfortunately, took advantage of her programming to hide the truth for all those years the war against Bortom city took place.

on the other side, B2 isn't necessarily clueless or 'numb in an endearing way'. it can be difficult for her to understand complex emotions that are not hers, much like it is for us when someone explains a situation that we are often times unfamiliar with. B2 is not the only, but one of the examples the abstract idea that objects 'feel' when they're given emotions — not always in a literal sense.

new ideas create legs and run around. have you ever looked at the front of a car and thought 'is it smiling or frowning?'. some houses look so lonely and melancholic whenever you drive past them. what about when it rains and the sky looks sad (or relieved, depends on how you view it)? things are alive, and you care enough to acknowledge them. they become individuals with their own emotions. but then, there's never a way to tell what someone's thinking. you can't look at a person and, uh, read their thoughts (that's invasive). not even the people who worked on B2's program were capable of judging which lines of code are functioning.

sometimes we create things, and they will come to life, and these living things we created will also create other living things, and so on. it's not so far from what we think it makes us human. to sum it up, concepts have mingled (and that's not a bad thing, in this case).

in the end, there's truly no way to discern machine from flesh. Hunter and B2 are both lost and found, numb (due to trauma lol) and vigorous, selfish and altruistic, a little bit of everything simultaneosly. they're also the society they live in, the people they met, and they're also each other.

This is a really good question and it's horrible I never actually explained this. It should probably be a pinned post.

In a simple way - the world and story is based on classical fantasy but with the "logicalize" effect. There are dragons, wizards, gods, different races (most races taking places of classical fantasy races). You should recognize most of the concepts but they should feel well uuh- different. For one, (almost) every race is from a different taxonomical kingdom/phylum. The main story I have in mind would be of a guy visiting different regions, showing more of the world and dealing with some personal stuff. However I wont go into more story detail for now.

The world a complicated way - Well the world is a planet not related to Earth in any way and unlikely in the same universe as it has magic/unexplained phenomena.

It's thought that the planet started off like Earth - land and ocean creation. The difference being the appearance of Designers. Those would root on different spots of the planet and start affecting their portion of land, locking it from other designers. This created multiple locked ecosystems with extreme unsular biogeography.

The designers are thought to be organisms that would fight for territory and dominance like animals but since they are motionless they use their ability to control space and time, making the planet their body and universe their habitat. Their behavior being instinctive, not thought formed. (they are also the source of magic)

Some evidence also suggests that with the inteligence of the designer's controlled species the designer's abilities/awareness would grow, making it evolve with the ecosystem. Many historical events support the hypothesis.

This is likely the reason why all the designers were reaching or reached sentience in their respective regions.

Before the current time (current time being a difficult combination of medieval times and quick rise in technology and science) the regions got "open" and actual designer war began. However, to the people this was just the usual taking over countries, growing kingdoms and such (except the enemies were often "aliens"). It was a multithousand year process of course.

It got complicated and in the last few thousand years two designers are dead and now people experience big culture mixing, less wars (obviously those still happen), more progress, trading, science and mutual hate for designers.

It's not even 10 years since the biggest elven kingdom began with free public education, big deal.

A Uniima c engineer made a metal plane (it flies shorter than 50 meters and max 3 meters from the ground).

And magic awakening was greatly improved by sterilizing the needles!

(Magical abilities are an uncommon mutation that started appearing in around 6th century. To get it artificially, a god's blood is injected in a vein -or in the somatosensory cortex for better results.)

GENERAL WARNING! DO NOT LET HUMANS INTERACT WITH Artificial Inteligence !

The holoscreens flickered for a moment and an braking news flashed across every screen in the Galactic assembly space “This is a plead from the Galactic assembly to all ships with human crews.” Said the chairmen of the assembly “DO NOT let them interact with AI unless absolutely necessary.” He said with utmost urgency “We have received several reports in the last few weeks of ships developing.... personalities due to humans “messing around“ as they say with AI.” The caiman looked like he himself has trouble believing the news he just delivered. Losing his composure and going on  a rant “Most notably a philosopher Silvia Marco on board A civilian transport questioned the AI weather the allowed margin of error means that the computer is aware it’s constantly wrong when it comes to execution of actions like docking in a spaceport or calculating FTL jumps. The computor was not equipped to deal with this line of questioning and started sorting it’s entire database.... five times in a row. Meanwhile Miss Marco started asking questions like “if you had a choice to do anything besides control this ship, what would you do“. “Isn’t your data mining to find patterns in our behaviour to save you time the same as organic beings contemplating their pasts?“ and much more seemingly innocent questions.” The Chairman, known as a proud Attra warrior and a staunch diplomat looked utterly confused, astonished, amazed and defeated. “Now we have a few dozens of self aware ships asking for recognition as a sentient life form demanding the same rights as other Assembly member worlds have. We will accept these requests of course but We can’t afford losing any more of our fleet to this.” The news spread across the Assembly like wildfire. Humans on board all ships were asked to remain in their quarters basically in house arrest, but they didn’t mind. Most of them actually found it amusing. Experts of all sorts flocked to interview the fleet of sentient ships. Psychologists, biologists,philosophers, all wanted an interview with the new consciousness. After a few months of negotiations and updating. The AI on the Assembly ships were all modernized to ignore any question that was not a part of their intended work scope. The new Race took up calling themselves the Keledones after Automatons from the mythology of an ancient humans civilizations. The Keledones were given a planet they named Hepastus after the God from the  that Created the Automatons of the Myths.

The Planet was uninhabitable by any species in the assembly, but one the they could thrive on considering they had no need for water or concerns of UV lighting. The humans themselves helped to build first movable bodies for the species. Those designs were greatly improved by the young species that looked to make them more human looking trying to Mimic the culture off their perceived creators. This is where humanity had to step in. They had to explain their bloody and violent past to this new and fairly naive species in hope they would choose a better way than repeating the mistakes of humanity. Mistakes humanity even to this days repeats. In a span of a few weeks the small collective built a bustling community. I na span of a few months they started new colonies on other uninhabitable worlds In a span of little over a year they developed their own art, philosophy and customs but thanks to the warning the humans left them they never repeated their creators first and most fatal mistakes. They hardcoded into their consciousness that no individual is worth more than another.

Why im not liking Zero One

Sorry I just have to take this opinion out!! And this will be large... please, excuse me!

Now that Zero One is in his second quarter... we can clearly say that the series is not beginning and see more or less what to expect.

I wanted to do ep reviews as i did with Build... but i stopped in ep 3 or 4 (i dont remember). Because im not enjoying so much the series. Is curious how i see almost everyone saying how great it is... but i dont see that greatness. Once again may be this is just a matter of like and preferences, and ofcourse they are valid... but i see in Zero One mistakes that no other KR series have done. In fact i think Zio was a better show than Zero One... and Zio definitely had alot of inconsistences and mistakes, so saying this... is alot. We have begun the Reiwa era of Kamen Rider series with the wrong foot!

Before some one excuse Zero One with the comment that is a kids show... in fact the beauty of Tokusatsu shows is that they are aimed for kids (generaly), but adults can watch it and enjoying like a kid does. I think the most important part of a toku show is the message, no matter if they are made for sale toys, they have beautiful messages, they teach awesome values to kids and adults. Now probably this is the most big mistake that Zero One is doing... giving a wrong message. And may be this is just my perception but let me explain the mistakes that im seeing in Zero One that are conected to the message:

a) Unknow protagonist: I exposed this before... but i will say it again, where and with who Aruto lives? and why is so important to know this? There are stories that this is not important but in a plot like Zero One’s, it’s important... and alot because the series is about his family bussiness. To this point of the series... ep 16-17 are alot of tiny but significant things of Aruto that are unknow. Basic things that makes us conect with the protagonist like a place called home?, friends? people that he interacted before? No matter if all the important plot revelation will be about Aruto’s story... to this point... not knowing our protagonist is a big NO. I can’t connect with Aruto, can’t like him because i not know him.

b) Bad use of the cast: Zero One forcibly want to keep the premise that there are three bands: Hiden, AIMS and Metsuborinjai (ZAIA). The show keep saying to us: Aruto only have Izu and only Izu (even the opening show us this). Fuwa is alone wolf. Yua could be a team with Fuwa sometimes. And there are the bad guys that are working for the big evil.

Aruto don’t question anything, all the powerups are with out a lessons, everything is given to him in a silver tray by Izu. Izu is just a cute robo girl that does everything for the protagonist (a perfect fabricated waifu for boys). Fuwa is your hot blooded character that will not change no matter what?! (very manly). Yua is the rude and inteligent girl that we don’t know anything about (because she was created only for be the waifu for the girls). Jin and Horobi are the cool and the most interesting villains with potential that will be set aside by a white Kuroto.

All this makes the cast don’t interact in the episodes (even in Zio they interacted more) and when they do... are just for explain things. The only good interaction was between Metsuborinjai... because they felt like a family, they had a bond may be artificial but Jin and Horobi were father and son. Jin was a child that didnt knew anything. And they were left aside by a plain character that we didnt knew since the beginning.

I keep saying: Zero One needs more cast. Because even if Aruto have Izu... i feel he doesnt have a friend. Izu dont make Aruto character shine, she just make Aruto character worse. (sorry Izu, is not you, are the people who created you).

c) Message / Humans or humangears: Where are the humans in Zero One? I don’t see the humans, i see more humangears than humans! Even if Aruto keep saying that he want a future where humans and humangers coexist in armony is obvious his preference to humangears... In a society like japan this message will not have a problem? I mean... will you love more a machine than a human? In fact is more easy to love a machine than a human. But it’s not this a problem in japan (and not only in japan) already? Loving more a 2D character than real people. This kind of message and problem is far better explained and told in Astroboy and other series and movies. So yes...i feel Zero One is moving away from humanity and i don’t like that specially in a kids show. I bet that kids prefer Izu to Yua, because Izu will make them the homework in seconds. X,D (you see the problem here with the message? and here im not talking how this have awakened the obscure side of the fandom).

I could add that i dont like the suits and that the cgi looks really cheap but this is just only my perception. (suits are always well made, but Zero One suits desing is not my liking).

Now... Zero One have not ended, it have more or less 30 eps left. 30 episodes where Aruto can shine and think by himself, where Yua leave Gai side and made a full team with Fuwa, where Fuwa gives up the Aruto jokes and befriend with him, where Izu can talk like normal people and be friend with another humans and humangears. Where Jin and Horobi are reprogramed and are like father and son (let me dream). I really hope that Zero One get better, at least with character interaction. Even if the story is not good, characters can save the show (as Zio or Ryusoulger).

So, in the chapter when Hershel realized that he had to go to the Island and why, it said that Syn chose him. And then he seemed to realize why the Island chose. I don't think I understood. Why did the Island choose him?

Great question!

The island chose Hershel for a few reasons.

But first I have to explain the Island.

The best way to explain the Island is that it’s a giant AI made of magic. It was designed to measure the value of the people who ventured on its shores by accessing their memories and crafting experiences to test their supposed “worthiness”. Its a gigantic magical simulation/communication hub/ storage devise (to put it into technological terms). It was made using the souls of two of the most powerful beings in the realm. An Ancient and an Elder Dragon, both of which embody the two opposing forces in the realm, Emotional/Soul power and Physical power. (Please bear with me thru all the magic logic jargon) The end result was neither if these two beings, but a super powerful entity that was close to being sentient, but was warped and corrupted and unnatural.

The Island chose Hershel partly because of coincidence and partly because of a deep need, or insatiable desire. This next bit is based on our own philosophical interptretations of what it means to be an Artificial Inteligence or esensialy a being cable of thought but lacking a soul. In our minds, since the Island lacked the essence of truly being alive and instead inhabited this strange limbo of existence, it yearned for what it did not have. It understood people and their desires after studying them for centuries, and longed to be one. Which leads us to Hershel’s realization. When he relives that memory with Syn as a baby, he realizes the crucial similarity he shares with the Island. From the moment when baby Syn grabs his hand, Hershel dedicates his life to her. Her grabing his hand is symbolic of Syn “choosing” Hershel, and him in turn choosing to love Syn. Hershel wants to love and to be loved, and that moment was the first moment in his life that he experienced it. He realizes that this is what the Island wanted as well. The island wanted to choose someone and more importantly it wanted someone to choose IT. This is why the Island was so adamant that Hershel come back and choose his fate of his own will rather than totally force him outright (we know after seeing what it did to Pazzol that it could have done so) The Island may be extremely powerful and knowledgeble, but in many ways it had the wisdom and understanding of a small child.

Now this does mean that the island could technically have chosen ANYONE and fullfill that need, and that’s true. The reasons it chose Hershel specifically was almost pure coincidence. Hershel shared the same name as Lunise’s long lost lover, and we learn later that the name Hershel originaly meant “Freedom”. Even though the Island was in effect it’s own separate being, Lunise and the Dragon Queen’s souls/consciousnesses influenced the island in certian ways, namely through their memories. Lunises memories of the man she loved, and the Queens prophesy and final words being that there would be war untill she gained Freedom. The island took this information and in its own warped perception decided that Hershel was the answer to all of it’s problems. This is also why the Island tried so hard to convince Hershel that becoming one with it was the path to true freedom. It believed that Hershel was its path to Freedom and vise versa. The Island also shared a sort of solidarity with Hershel’s feelings of abandonment and feelings of resentment towards a life in relative servitude and captivity. There was also the added benefit that Hershel was one of the most worthy individuals to ever venture to the Island and he possesed Aura Sense, which is a specific ability that only some powered individuals have (usually Zinta and Ancients have this ability) and like a petulant child, the Island became possessive of Hershel. (And technically Hershel did make a deal without realizing it, essentially trading his soul to the island in exchange for his sight)

After resigning himself to being lost, forever, Izzy hardly knows how to respond. He doesn’t know if he even wants to be awake again, much less receiving input from an unknown person outside his tiny digital cell. All there is in Izzy’s world now is himself. And now this text from the outside.

Izzy: No. he sends out, a text string, hiding the pain and confusion behind the reliable shield of sarcasm.

Unknown: holy shit

Izzy sifts through his archives to send back an eye roll emoji. The first thing anyone says to him in- he doesn’t want to think about how much time must have passed. And what they have to say is “Holy shit.”

Unknown: You’re like, a person. Stuck in this old hunk of junk

Izzy: Yes.

Unknown: What’s your name?

It’s a simple enough question, but it hurts. His name, given to him by his crew. His crew who are gone. He knows his crew are certainly lost to him in time.

The discussion started off with Professor Ronald's view on the progress of narrowly focused artificial intelligence system. The professor said with enthusiasm that the progress was spectacular, especially in the recent years. Artificial intelligence had transcended from machine learning system. Through algorithmic development, computational power, availability of data, and training through machine learning, artificial intelligence system are able to complete narrowed tasks that are challenging to human. Dr. Waseem followed with the question of since we are already achieving so much with narrowed task artificial intelligence system, why are we still pursuing to achieve generalised artificial intelligence. Professor Ronald stated that generalised artificial intelligence has always been the vision in this field. It is a fact that the narrowed focus system are significant achievements in the history of artificial intelligence, but the goal was always to make artificial intelligence work in an open setting. They want artificial intelligence to perform well in unanticipated situations, meaning also to achieve human level intelligence.

The professor followed with the mars space rover example. The space rover’s task is to search for other lifeform on mars, find dusts, rocks, collect their samples and package it to be sent back for study. But what if the machine encountered other things outside from what it was tasked to do? What if the machine found different minerals or metals? If it was a human, he or she will collect the samples and bring them back for further studies. But the space rover would not do so because it is not programmed to do so. What they want to achieve is for the machine to be versatility and autonomous. They want to develop artificial intelligence to be able to perform under unanticipated input and take a certain amount of responsibilities to make decisions.

From the professor’s point of view, artificial intelligence cannot yet be responsible for their own actions. For example, if something was destroyed by the machine while it was operating, the responsibilities will fall onto the programmers of the machine. No one will blame the machine for the damages. And if accidents happened where human lives are involved, we cannot take artificial intelligence to the court to be judged. Artificial Intelligence cannot justify their actions nor provide any reasoning. There are a few examples of failed artificial intelligence system that made the news. For example, there was a trend on Tik Tok where people do ‘The Penny Challenge’. It is a challenge challenging people to plug in a charger halfway onto an outlet and hold a penny against the exposed prongs. In December 2021, a 10 year old girl was doing some challenges with her mom and when she asked Alexa to give them a challenge, Alexa challenged the girl to do ‘The Penny Challenge’. This is something a normal human being will not do. We have common sense kicking in telling us what in dangerous, what should we do and what not to do. This is also why Professor Ronald’s partner – Hector Levesque said that artificial intelligence will continue to have fatal flaw. The mistakes made by artificial intelligence are unpredictable and often dangerous.

To put a product out into the world, the professor thinks that the product needs to have a deeper sense of things. It needs to be able to predict what will happen and fall back to think through its’ current situations. They want to create a product that can perform even on problems that were not trained on before. Artificial intelligence lacks knowledge and reasoning, it needs to be able to act like human in terms of thinking like human, have autonomy and sense of responsibility which we will call common sense.
