Since you're done with The Mime (2 episodes in a month?Jeez girl, how is your hand?) the next one is Gorizilla right? What are your thoughts and opinions about the plot and the akuma?
I held onto this because, like Zombizou, I hadn't seen the episode yet. So here are my rambles. I don't think there's much to say since the episode only really pissed me off at the very end. Buckle up for that cuz Mama's gonna swear:
BAG!
Tumblr media
Rose that is your SIXTH BAG VARIATION! Portfolio Bag in Orange, Brown, and Mint Green, Orange Book Bag, and now a Pink AND Orange Backpack! At least make them all PINK!
I kinda wish I got to experience this episode without the forknowledge that Adrien was sneaking out to see his mother's movie. I don't know if it was a good or a bad thing that for half the episode it's completely unexplained why Adrien is putting himself through Mob Horde Hell and avoiding his own bodyguard. It felt worth it for me because I knew, but maybe it would feel weird watching it and being like "why are you doing this to yourself?" I thought the same for "Ikari Gozen": "How would I feel watching this episode if I didn't know Kagami was trying to make friends until Marinette knew?"
While I totally buy Marinette and other tweens being drooly over this ad (sorta) I do not buy everyone and their mom dropping everything to swarm the kid and I DEFINITELY do not buy anyone watching that commercial and thinking the actor in it was "cool" the way Wayhem did lmao. Adrien was right when he said it was embarrassing, good on him for being self aware about it.
Also who thought it was a good idea to sell "Perfume eu de Teenage Boy"?
It's fun to watch Roger call the Bodyguard "little guy". My guy, he could eat you for sustenance. You're a vitamin to this brick house of a man.
"My dad hid the DVD somewhere at our place". For a man who's whole motive is reviving his "dead" wife, he sure has weird ways of keeping her alive in their hearts. Statues and paintings of her likeness? Good. A movie of his moving, talking, living mother? Bad.
Tumblr media
Production Budget so weak she doesn't get a costume smh.
(I had nothing to say about the whole akuma, it was pretty much a standard, decent akuma. Plus I'm a sucker for one side of the mask catching their partner talking fondly of the other side, ie Ladybug telling Adrien she has faith in Chat Noir)
But from this point onwards, it's all downhill for me:
Tumblr media
You worm, you scum, YOU made an akuma and YOU ordered it to capture your son and YOU allowed that akuma to take your son to the highest building in Paris and YOU put him in the middle of the fight between your akuma and Ladybug and YOU allowed him to be dropped off the side of that building and YOU WAITED UNTIL THE LAST POSSIBLE SECOND TO ALLOW LADYBUG TO SAVE HIM and YOU. ARE. TO. BLAME! Take responsibility for yourself!
I want everyone who calls Marinette a "stalker" to shut the fuck up because Adrien just handed his email address over to the guy who traced his every single move for a whole day despite Adrien literally running from him at every turn and posted his photo and location online without consent and no one ever seems to care about that.
And the coup de grace, the cherry on the shit sundae: "You just had to ask me."
Fuck. You.
He DID ask and you told your own son, with eyes pointed at the ground, twisting his ring anxiously, to make an appointment through your secretary. Eat a bag of dicks.
and Oh. OH. To wrap it up with "You should've trusted me" and "when you hide things I jump to the worst conclusions, you understand?" (literally outloud I said "No I don't understand, what "conclusions" is Adrien supposed to assume you mean?")
But the gall. THE AUDACITY. It was intentional, right? To end the episode after that CHEF'S KISS OF A BULLSHIT LINE by panning down to Emilie in the basement? Gabriel Lord of the Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlbossing over here scolding ADRIEN for not trusting HIM. MAYBE IF YOU GAVE THE KID 5% OF A REASON TO DO SO-
Thing is this could either be Cinematic Gold to frame the Agreste family's self destruction and inevitable implosion due to his manipulation of Adrien, or (more likely) this will be completely forgotten as they try to convince audiences to FoRgIvE GaBrIEL cuz LOOK he eventually let Ladybug save Adrien from being sidewalk paste so it evens out, RiGhT?
Also what a let down that there wasn't an in universe shipping war between pairing Adrien with his "towel girlfriend" and "Gabriel's muse."

AO3 Wrapped 2023
aka just some fics I enjoyed in 2023 and would recommend aka oops I need to finish this list already
Where the Wild Things Are by ArabellaMoxie Fandom: Ladyhawke (1985) Main Ship: Isabeau/Philippe/Navarre Rated T, 3600 words This is a really satisfying glimpse into the lives of the main trio post-canon. I love how it explores the idea that no, you can't just go back to normal after being forced to live as a wolf/hawk, and also the ot3 should never split up. Also Mouse's interior monologue is great, with his resigned longing for Isabeau and Navarre.
Hitting the High C's by beware-of-italics Fandom: Our Flag Means Death Main Ships: Ed/Stede, Stede & the crew Rated T, 29600 words A really fun story of that particular subgenre of fic where the author is writing about a particular subculture they know well or subject they're passionate about. Turning Stede into a newly-out high school theatre kid with delusional confidence in his acting and directing ability absolutely works. In this high school au, Stede somehow manages to stage a musical while falling in love with the best actor in the cast, Edward Teach. I also particularly like the bits with Mary and Lucius, as a break from Stede's whole Stede-ness.
Rocking the Cat-Eyes by buggachat Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug Main Ships: Adrien/Marinette, Adrien/self-discovery Rated T, 18000 words In which Adrien Agreste figures out that he's not so cis, a concept that I 100% believe in. Adrien's confusion and fear of coming out had my heart in my throat, it felt so real, but it's okay, the ending is so sweet.
This Precious Time When Time is New by Dee_Moyza Fandom: Blue Castle - L.M. Montgomery Main Ship: Barney/Valancy F/M, Rated T, 7000 words An exploration of Valancy and Barney in the very first days of their fake marriage. I'm not just recommending this because it was my gift for the Rare Pair Exchange, I'm also recommending it because the the descriptions of Mistawis are beautiful and perfectly Montgomery-esque and I really like the romantic tension running through the fic.
#strongpoison by dotsayers Fandom: Lord Peter Wimsey - Dorothy L. Sayers Main Ships: Peter/Harriet, Harriet/getting justice Rated T, 3400 words A modern AU in which instead of being arrested for murder, Harriet Vane is the center of a twitter storm after being accused of plagiarizing her ex. I really enjoyed the social media/found document format, especially the fake Wikipedia pages. Norman Urquhart loses his money investing in NFTs, Peter Wimsey posts medieval marginalia on twitter, and Eiluned Price is just awesome. I read this at work on my lunch break and my day was immediately 100 times better.
The Quality of Mercy by MiraMira Fandom: Twelfth Night - Shakespeare Main Ships: Olivia/Sebastian, Antonio & Sebastian, Orsino/Viola Rated T, 12700 words At Antonio's suggestion, Sebastian disguises himself as a woman and takes a job with Olivia at the same time as "Cesario" takes a job with Orsino. Shenanigans ensue. If this were printed on paper, I'd call it a page-turner, by which I mean I also read this while at work and probably anybody who walked past could see me grinning at my phone.
thirst is all i know (you will be the water) by susiecarter Fandom: Original Work Main Ship: Prince of One Country/Bastard Son of Enemy Country's Ruler Rated M, 16000 words I first read this more than a year ago, and recently I found myself randomly thinking about how much I enjoyed the worldbuilding, the political machinations that drive the plot, and the central romance. I consider that a mark of a good story. It's an arranged marriage story in which the two husbands have to overcome the culture clash between fantasy-Egypt culture and fantasy-Byzantine culture and the lasting impact of a traumatic upbringing.

Greetings, denizens of Tumblr, men, women, and potplants!
I randomly decided this blog needed an introductory post, so here we are.
Any of my writing/art can be found at the #my writing and #my art tags respectively. My current WIP, The Golden City, can be found at #the golden city or #tgc if I'm lazy. I have any number of background projects, which can all be found at #backburner wips.
Random details about me include; I'm a writer/artist in training, self-taught for both, and a professional bullshitter. I also like cats better than dogs, drink a lot of hot cocoa and coffee, and recently discovered I might be intolerant to milk, which I am VERY salty over. I'm also a professional procrastinator, and am actually procrastinating from something by writing this very post.
I come in several different flavours of neurodivergent!
I am also a coloured pencil. No, I will not elaborate.
You can call me any variation of my blog name, R, or Rose, whichever you like. (if you somehow know me IRL and thus know my actual name; no you do not)
I'm chill with basically anyone (whatever your opinions are on anything) as long as you can be respectful about them. While I do have opinions on all controversial topics (being as I am a Human Bean and thus biased) I prefer to stay firmly neutral and out of any Important Debates/politics.
Oh, and I adore tag/ask games, feel free to drop in with anything at any time, but I am erratically efficient with answering so it maay take a while. Sorry.
Anyway! Other me/WIP-related stuff under the cut because this's a 'lil long :D
Media I like includes; Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (I'm planning to watch the 03 one at some point but haven't gotten around to it) Avatar; The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, the Reckoners series, Redwall, The Queen's Thief series, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comics, the Agents of SHIELD tv show, and pretty much all of the older Barbie movies. (most specifically Princess and the Pauper) I'm also pretty involved in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom, somehow, despite not having watched most of it.
Favorite characters of mine include; Edward Elric, Roy Mustang, Azula, Kuvira, Sokka, Zuko, Fitz, Adrien Agreste, Félix Graham De Vanily, Kagami Tsurugi, Varrick, Zhu Li, Eugenides/Gen, Basil Stag Hare, Gonff, Ling Yao, Preminger, and Azul.
I'm not much of a shipper, but I do have a soft spot for Royai, the Love Square and Feligami from Miraculous Ladybug, and whatever Zhu Li/Varrick is called.
Anyway, here's the plot as of yet of my main WIP in newspaper-headline style because I saw someone else do it and I liked the idea.
Local Thief Gets Arrested And Then Takes Advantage of Loophole; Winds Up Going On Treasure Hunt. (Chaos Ensues)
Here's a runup of the main characters;
Felix Rose- professional bullshitter/actor/ridiculously good at being charming. Very cocky, actually has enough skills to (occasionally) warrant it. Owns four cats. Does not want to go to jail, thank you. Noble who part-times as a thief, as one does.
Shannon Rose- professional Felix's Twin Brother. At first glance seems significantly less mischevious than Felix, but we must remind you that Felix is significantly more anything than anyone. Studying to be a scholar. Would also prefer it if Felix did not got to jail, would like to prevent that.
Valentin Fleet- professional Cinnamon Roll. Wants to do the Right Thing, unsure what that actually means. Is capital-C Conflicted. Somehow managed to go from the resident Tough Person to the resident Cinnamon Roll over the story's creation. The reason Felix is in jail, would prefer it if he stayed there, please.
I also have a website, (carolinaauthor.wordpress.com) where I'll be posting my WIP when it gets to production stage, and an Etsy store (it's called CoffeeCatDesigns, I'll find a link later sorry) where you can buy stuff from me. Oh, and I started writing fanfic recently! I'm The Rose Empress on ao3 if you're interested!
If you want to ask me questions about any of my WIPs or tag me in stuff I will be more than happy to answer :D
Mmmmmmmmkay that's it thank you for reading, I'm gonna go do that thing I was procrastinating from now.

I just gotta ask, but just how unreliable is Nino at keeping secrets really? No, this isn't salt, just an honest question because I see it as a mixed bag.
On the not very good side:
Alya figured out he was Carapace on his first outing.
He's shown to crack easily, doesn't do well acting like there isn't a plan he is part of like in Puppeteer 2 or Animan or Befana (tbf, nobody could hide the surprise party from Marinette).
He told Adrien he and Alya are Carapace and Rena Rouge (admittedly, he wasn't in the best state of mind with all that jealousy clouding his judgement).
Blowing Rena Furtive's cover and not thinking to at least lie about protecting the entire building in general to cover it up.
Blurting out in the middle of the school cafeteria that he and Alya used to be superheroes.
On the fairly okay side:
Adrien was surprised to hear Nino was Carapace, and nobody besides Alya knew about it up until he confided in his best bro whom he trusts so much.
He kept Rena Furtive a secret for a while, only cracking when that ferris wheel was going to hit her.
The secrets he carelessly spilled in Illusion are all useless anyway. Monarque already knew and their Miraculous are with him.
In conclusion:
While he is easily pressured and not a very good actor, so long as nobody questions him, he seems alright with keeping the hero stuff lowkey. Unless told otherwise, he may take executive decisions on what secrets are or are not important and could get careless. But if it is important, he seems capable of hiding it, at least if Alya doesn't look into it.
So... I'm guessing if Adrien tries to confide his identity to Nino, he might as well consider it a package deal with Alya. Otherwise, its fairly safe. But what do you think?
Yeah I'd say this is a pretty good breakdown. Nino can keep his mouth shut about things, but he's not a very good actor. So long as he judges the secret as being important, he will keep it to the best of his ability though. But you DO have to have very good reason why that secret needs to remain secret, not just tell him not to tell anyone.
I still think that Adrien telling Nino his identity wouldn't be a good idea until Gabriel's defeated though, because while I don't think that Nino would blab, his acting is really poor, and I think Lila, at least, may pick up on the fact that he's hiding something and investigate sufficiently to find out that Adrien is Chat Noir. That would be very, very bad.
Keeping the secret concealed from Alya might be pretty difficult too, since she knows him well and tends to pursue leads (plus he hates lying to her anyway), but that's not as big of a problem, in and of itself. Alya IS trustworthy, the only problem is her getting mind-controlled.

🐞 ox!Luka
💭 Zoe and Felix
💡 Nath
🐞 ox!Luka
Honestly I think ox!Luka could really work. Grant it, this is going off my own idea of Luka really. But I truly believe Luka is a very passive person. He's one to always take the passive route unless someone he really cares for is in danger as evident in Silencer when a grown man put his hand on Marinette, a 14-year-old. I also consider him a very big brother type figure as he tends to be around Juleka, Marinette, and Adrien.
Luka is also a character who tends to prevent the impending disaster (him as Viperion using second chance being a huge example) so to have a power that also prevents attacks could help him. Especially since he has a tendency to just let things happen to him or around him already and seem almost unfazed by it when most people would find it a lot more upsetting. Such as Marinette's general treatment of their relationship from his POV, his mother's rather embarrassing tendency to pick fights with pretty much anybody, his father's... everything, as well as how he generally reacts to akuma attacks. Like he leaps into action but he doesn't fight. He always tries to find the smartest route, the quickest way to end a conflict, with very minimal conflict.
I think he would be very willing to be the first one out on field considering he is invulnerable to most powers, but he would also be the first one to leave. So he would work much like a search and find deal where he uses his five minutes to discover some kind of advantage the heroes could use against their enemy before basically tagging out to let someone a bit more experience take the lead like Ladybug or Chat Noir.
💭 Zoe and Felix
My headcanon is that Zoe could see through Felix's acting rather easily and Felix would underestimate her so she tends to take him off guard and he would feel very vulnerable around her. He would also probably hate that and very much hate her, or think he does, and keep her as far away from him as possible.
Zoe would probably be very timid around him, much like with her mother and sister, but also speak up when he is messing things up for her friends. I think she would eventually gain more confidence around him seeing how he reacts to her.
I do think it would be a fun romantic relationship but also pretty hilarious considering Felix is the character with the most... well... character and Zoe is the one with the least character. XD And I think it would be very cute if and when Felix got a redemption arc if he would help Zoe with her acting skills since he's a very good actor.
I feel like this is a very dangerous idea you introduced me to because I am very much a multi-shipper. :' D
💡 Nath
I will assume this is Nathaniel and not Nathalie because I think the fandom mostly refers to Nathaniel as Nath. But in case it is Nathalie I'll add some stuff about her too.
With Nathaniel I would love to see him be a character outside of someone else. Every episode that gave him focus was him mostly focusing on someone else rather than his general interests. I think it would be really fun to see his process on how he creates a comic page and just what made him decide to go with Evillustrator still and make him a hero and acknowledge that he used to be a villain. I basically think this answers the 3. I really would just like to see him do more art, and learn about how he takes it on. I'm rather into art myself so I think it would be fun to see.
Now for Nathalie I would love to see her day-to-day life explored more. How does she tackle a day? I would have loved to see how she managed taking care of Adrien, doing her general job, and helping Hawkmoth beat up some children. That must be freaking crazy. I think it would be fun. I would also love to see her do more things outside of the Agrestes. I do get that's, of course, part of her general arc but I mean not having it totally rely on the Agrestes to function. Like maybe she ends up going shopping for something for Gabriel and then sees something in the store she thinks Adrien will like. It can still shows she cares for them and it's part of her story but it doesn't really include them being around her as it can be rather suffocating.
I would also love for her relationship with Adrien to be explored a whole lot more. It's very cute and different to most of Adrien's other relationships. It would be fun to see.
Thank you for the ask! I will have to think about ox!Luka more and maybe draw some concepts! That sounds fun! I hope you are having a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, or whatever time it is where you are. <3

So here are my completely uninteresting thoughts about the Miraculous movie, which I watched yesterday. First few paragraphs are spoiler free.
Overall impression while watching was honestly positive. It was well-animated, the tension and atmosphere were good, the voice actors for the main characters did great, the music was pretty good, and the nostalgia gave me warm fuzzy feelings several times. However, the day after watching it, I realize I have a lot of issues with it that weren't obvious to me at first.
I didn't mind it being a musical. But like everyone else, I thought the difference between Marinette's speaking VA and singing VA was jarring. It was jarring enough that it didn't feel like it was actually Marinette singing; it felt more like she was lipsynching along to a soundtrack, and I found it hard to take in what she was trying to communicate in her songs because of that. Adrien didn't have this problem; his singing VA was similar enough that it worked. As for Gabriel, oh man, was it a TREAT to discover that Keith Silverstein did his own singing. I literally had goose bumps the whole song, not because it was a particularly interesting song, but because Keith just did it so well (and it was so great to have him seamlessly start singing)!!
They changed or removed a lot of things compared to the show; the main reason for this was probably that the movie was only 1:32 in runtime (which was way too short even to convey some of the basic points of the plot). Some of the changes were for the better, I think. But many of them were for the worse.
(Spoilers below, though if you've seen the show, it probably doesn't matter very much.)
Some good changes:
Gabriel's characterization and character arc were WAY improved, in that his motives are clearly established, he's shown as suffering emotionally during the entire movie (while very obviously caring a lot for Adrien), and he had a redemption at the end that made sense. Gabriel was probably my favorite character in this movie. I almost wish it had centered more around him, lol.
This is maybe not a change so much as a choice of focus, but a major part of why I stopped watching the show two seasons back or so was because the new kwamis, heroes and identity switches were getting incredibly annoying, confusing and boring. The movie had only three active kwamis and only two heroes, i.e. it went back to the good old days of the show, and I appreciated that a lot.
There are also way fewer characters who get any screen time (basically their entire school class is only shown in the periphery), which I personally think is a good thing, because I never really found most of them interesting in the first place.
After their first couple of times fighting bad guys, Ladybug and CN get into a habit of meeting with each other to train or just hang out even when there are no threats around. That kind of casual interaction was something I think many of us wished had been a part of the show (it definitely was a major part of many fanfics).
Adrien is clearly shown mourning his mother, and I think that his withdrawn manner and the fact that he always wears earbuds at the start of the movie makes a lot of sense.
Marinette and Adrien are chosen as guardians in a slightly different way, and I think I like Tikki's movie introduction more than the one in the show (however, see another point about this further below). Also, the idea behind the ladybug and cat miraculouses was well explained in my opinion.
I really liked the first meeting between Ladybug and CN. CN was characteristically cocky, and LB was very reasonably annoyed with him throughout it all (more so than in the show, as far as I recall). While there were a few moments during the fight itself that felt a bit cringe, their interactions were still pretty great. I also liked how CN went from seeing himself as the main superhero with LB being his sidekick, to acknowledging that it's probably the other way around and that they work best as a team. Also, his pet name for her is pretty cute (though I kind of miss the names he calls her in the show).
Some bad changes:
The fashion-related connection between Marinette, Adrien and Gabriel was completely removed. Adrien isn't a model it seems (at least it was never mentioned), and it was only briefly shown at the start of the movie that Gabriel is a fashion designer. Marinette still does fashion sketches, but the whole reason for why she is obsessed with Adrien at first as well as the fact that she looks up to his father a lot is completely non-existent. The connection just isn't mentioned at all.
Adrien and Marinette are barely shown interacting outside of their first meeting, their resolution, and a brief montage in-between. It doesn't really make sense why Marinette is even interested in Adrien (see also my previous point). It doesn't even make sense that she would like him just because she's lonely and not used to attention, because movie Adrien barely gives her any...
Marichat and Ladrien have ZERO interactions. It's a shame and a huge minus.
The way that Ladybug's and CN's powers work is a disappointment. We're told that they have the power of creation and destruction respectively, and this is shown in a few scenes (CN destroys some things, LB repairs some things), but gone are all the clever strategies from the show where LB had to figure out a creative way to solve their problems. The way her powers are portrayed in the movie, it seems like Tikki does everything for her. Her yo-yo seems to have a life of her own and pulls her along without her consent a lot of the time, and she never has to think for herself about how to solve a problem because her powers miraculously show her exactly what to do. We do get a few cool scenes where LB and CN execute moves in tandem though, but that's about the extent of it. Basically, LB isn't a strong, clever superhero; she's pretty much a doll puppeteered around by Tikki. (A bit of an exaggeration but that is how I felt.)
The reveal between Marinette and Adrien feels underwhelming, both because of how little we have seen of their friendship and interactions throughout the movie, and because the reveal itself is done in a rather anticlimactic way. Marinette has already known who he is for a while at that point (it's unclear exactly how long), and Adrien seems to realize who she is as soon as she calls his name. They barely speak during the reveal and it is difficult to know how they feel about it all outside of Marinette's shy expressions and Adrien's shocked eyes. The whole ~masquerade reveal~ felt like an attempt at fanservice that unfortunately fell flat.
Alya was a good character in this movie, but I think she should have received more screentime. I would much rather have seen more of her and Marinette than suffer through her bad scenes with Nino (more on that below).
Chloé was done dirty. It's like they added her in just because "she's supposed to be there" without taking the time to making her actually fit in with the other changes they had made. Not only did she seem to fluctuate between three or four different personalities throughout the movie, she also made very light of the concept of bullying in a COMPLETELY unnecessary and shockingly badly written line at the end of the movie. (This is literally a direct quote: "Marinette, I hope you have a lovely evening, because next year, bullying's back on.") Also, she bragged about being favored by Adrien, even though they had zero interactions in the movie? (I don't remember them having one, at least.)
Plagg was done REALLY dirty. Every single scene he was in was cringe and badly written. His entire personalty was boiled down to "he fart lol".
Lastly, Adrien was also done dirty. He's barely given a discernible personality outside of "I'm sad and miss my parents" and "I'm a cocky superhero who loves puns". The way he handles being told that Marinette has another love interest is immature and spiteful, his first meeting with Marinette ends with him leaving out of nowhere and thinking that she's weird, and we never get to see how kind, shy, clever, awkward and perceptive he can be. The contrast between him and his superhero persona is badly explained; someone who hasn't seen the show wouldn't know that he longs for adventure and the freedom to express himself, because his struggles as a homeschooled model with few sincere friends are completely absent from the movie. Basically, he's made into a rather one note character (well, I guess two note, really, with at best a wobbly connection between the two sides).
Other things that weren't changes per se, but that I have Opinions about:
I'm torn on how they remade Marinette's "awakening". Just like in the show, she refuses Tikki's powers at first, before eventually accepting them and having her growth arc. I think this is an important part of her larger character arc. However, considering how short the movie is, it's my opinion that they dedicate a disproportionate amount of time to this arc, where I feel that there were important plot and characterization details they could have used that time for instead. I understand that they probably did this because they wanted to focus a lot on Marinette's "hero's journey" in this movie, but it was almost like they dragged it all out.
Related to the previous point, there is quite a lot of "be yourself" and "trust your heart" and "overcome your fears" propaganda shoved down the viewer's throat throughout the movie. I watched the movie with my partner, and every time that Marinette started singing, I jokingly went, "do you think this song will be the next 'Let It Go'?" I mean, it's a good message to give kids I guess, but it was so much that I couldn't help but view it cynically.
Nino could have been removed as a character. No, actually, he should have been. He was extremely one note in a way that borders on being a racist depiction, his romance arc with Alya was flat and unnecessary, his "romantic advice" to Adrien was cliche and cringe, and he fulfils no purpose in the story whatsoever (possibly apart from being Adrien's only friend at first, but that's so brushed over that I don't think it would matter if it was removed).
I liked almost all of the interactions between Ladybug and CN. They were fun, cute and mostly felt natural. The few issues I have are mostly present in the show as well, so I have nothing to complain about regarding the movie itself.
As a contrast to the previous point however, there were, in my opinion, way too many one liners and far too few sincere interactions between characters. Some of the interactions were so weirdly cut short that they felt jarring or superficial. I saw a good example of this in another post from the early parts of the movie, where Marinette is sad because she feels lonely at school, her mother tells her to cheer up and be herself, at which Marinette suddenly does cheer up and goes "you're right!!" (I'm paraphrasing, but the meat of the issue is that the change in her mood is unnaturally sudden, and it feels like there's so much more that had to be said between the lines for that to happen).
The climax felt somewhat sudden and uncalled for, both in how it started and how it ended. Hawkmoth's powers (which hadn't been very well explained before this) suddenly became completely different and no longer focused around the power of his kwami. Suddenly he could create storms, and levitate, and use telekinesis??? And while I appreciated the reveal between him and Adrien, it was weird to have Marinette standing nearby without ever seeing her reaction to CN's identity reveal. Also, the ghost hug from Adrien's mother at the end felt a little too on the nose for me.
Final thoughts: If they had spent their budget on a longer movie rather than on licensing 15 seconds or so of Careless Whisper, and if they had cut all of the musical numbers in favor of including some more plot and characterization, I think the movie could have been really great. As it stands, I think the main issues with the movie all boil down to it being too short. Still, I'm glad I watched it, and I think fans of the series will still have a lot to appreciate about it. As for the people who have never seen the show, they might think it's an all right movie, but they're missing out on a lot of the things that make the show so great.
The teaser for a sequel at the end was... Weird, btw. I really don't see how they're going to keep people's interest up for another movie when CN and LB already have had their reveal and romantic arc, unless the supposed sequel focuses on other people (crossing my fingers for a Gabriel-centered movie, I guess).

This post is about my thoughts on the Revolution episode. If you haven't watched it, then don't continue reading, it'll have spoilers.
Tumblr media
A brief thing about Chloé to start this post. I should have seen it coming. *sigh* If in Malediktator the school broke into a party from Chloé's announcement that she was leaving, then of course that in this season it was going to be the whole city. Fireworks and all. 🤣 🙄🙈 Mmmm... I think i would had enjoyed the episode more if it hadn't been for this Chloé thing that has been going for so long now. I hope they don't bring her back. Better away for good than seeing a character's path being so viciously destroyed.
I pray they will have better planning for Lila, Gabriel and Tomoe. And with this i don't mean that i want each of them to have a redemption, just no more playing around like they did with Chloé. Thinking about it... it's already too weird with Gabriel. Some moments it's like they want us to feel sorry for him, but then he does something that it's like "oh come on, get this man to therapy already". By the way, i want Gorilla to take custody of Adrien. He hasn't spoken a word, but he'd be so much better father to Adrien than Gabriel. The scene where Adrien tells Marinette that he's leaving. My respects for that french voice actor. The emotion in Adrien't voice was very well expressed. Really great quality voice acting. I don't know how many people think like me, but i prefer the french audio because of this. I love Marinette's voice particularly when she's stressed out and speaks like three thousand words per second. 😁 The kiss scene... I believe most (if not all) of the fandom loved it and i think people will disagree with me on this point. It was too much for me. Too soap opera. The airport guy chasing after Marinette, ok i buy that, he was doing his job with not letting someone in. But helping to break the kiss? That was too much. It simply wasn't his business and he didn't even hesitate to do it. His grabbing her from the waist was way too much as well. Imagine in real life an adult man grabbing a teen girl like that. He'd be in so much troubles. And excuse me, but Gorilla and the other man couldn't separate two small teenagers? Come on. They were shown even shaking from the effort of trying to separate them. For me, that made the background music seem exaggerated and manipulative. Like they put that music to complete what the story lacked, to hide weak writing. A quick example of what i mean with this: In Stranger Things season 4 episode 4, that scene with Max and Vecna. The music was perfect. It did made the scene more emotional. But what was going on was already very strong. Sadie's acting was great.
Back to miraculous. About them not de-transforming anymore because they grew up. A person can grow up either physically or emotionally. In this case it wasn't the first one or the de-transformation wouldn't had begun at all in the first place. Now i'm not a psychologist, but i'd say one grows up emotionally after having gone through some hardship, learned a difficult lesson or taken a difficult choice. My opinion is that what we saw in this episode was actually will power and not really growing up, but i guess that's debatable.
The mixing of two powers... That scene where the shelter was mixed with the immunity. First i want to say i love how it happened under Chloé's time. It's the second time she's shown something done for the first time. She was the first person to resist an akuma and now it was with her that two powers merged for the first time. Five seasons and it is finally happening. This merging of two powers has already happened in fanfics a looong time ago and this bothers me because they are "borrowing" ideas from fanfics and then i read Astruc not precisely throwing compliments to fanfic writers and saying that all has been planned for years. *scoff* As if this season alone doesn't prove that they are writing on the go. People could say they must have read it from the bible leaks. This is from fanfics written in 2019 and 2021. Have leaks of this episode been around for that long?
And finally... Does Audrey know too about Gabriel having the moth miraculous??? I mean, there he is talking to Tomoe about their plan, while Audrey was right next to him.
Tumblr media
I'm curious to see what they'll give us for the season finale. Lila now seems to be an expert in electronics, so, i guess now anything can happen.

What's your plural Marinette au?
I watched the scene in Gang of Secrets (?) Where Marienette nearly ran away from home to become Ladybug full time, and really wanted to explore that concept:
What if the Girl Squad had arrived just a few minutes later? What if they stopped to talk to Tom and Sabine, to express their mutual worry over Marinette?
What if Marinette actually took the Miracle Box and left to become a superhero full time, to be the hero that Paris needs? To always be available to jump into battle without having to first worry about finding an excuse to get out of class?
To no longer let her parents or friends or teachers down with slipping grades, undone homework or chores, get-togethers missed, and secrets kept?
What if Marinette decided to give up her entire life in the pursuit of being the hero and Guardian that is now her sacred duty? No matter how painful it is, no matter how much she's going to lose in doing so?
And then I realized Marinette is smart enough to realize that Marinette Dupain-Cheng going missing at the same time Ladybug becomes active at all hours of the day is going to raise suspicion, so she realizes.... Marinette can't just go missing.
Marinette needs to die.
She needs to fake her own death, and become a new, bolder, thicker-skinned hero, one who can make the painful decisions without feeling the ache in her heart that has consumed her.
So when she transforms again.... She is no longer "Ladybug", the young girl superhero.
Instead, they are Devotion, the replacement chosen directly by Ladybug to be her successor when she decides to focus on her duties as Guardian, a hero who has no prior experiences with Chat Noir, who feels no false sense of guilt or sympathy when he attacks them or proclaims his undying love for Ladybug.
Devotion's heard all about Chat Noir's refusal to take "no" for an answer, and they're not going to put up with it.
At first, Marinette thinks she's just a really good method actor.
Then she realizes she can't clearly remember most of the things that happened when she transformed, there's entire hours missing from her memory, and no matter how much she reaches, she can't grasp a memory or glimpse of what happened during that time...
Just like the last few weeks, when everyone would ask her something about an event or conversation she has no idea even existed. She's had memory issues ever since she became Guardian, and she'd hoped desperately that she was simply under too much stress.
Well, she's certainly right about the stress.
Marinette is quite literally traumatized to the moon and back, and she's still just a child with the weight of the world on her shoulders. She's seen herself murdered, she's seen her dead body vanish into dust, she's been beaten and attacked endlessly and had to stand strong though it all, because if she falls then the entire world falls with her.
So without even realizing it, her brain has decided the only way to even attempt to handle the stress is to share the load and compartmentalize.
I've got at least two headmates for Marinette so far:
Devotion (they/them): takes on the role of superhero, has almost none of Marinette's civilian memories, and is very much a protector of the system, not just standing up against aggressors but more than willing to react with their own aggression to take care of the threat, though they always give the enemy a chance to back down first, and mostly reacts in defensive manners, turning their foe's attacks back at them so they get a taste of their own medicine.
Dedication (it/it's): takes on the role of Guardian and Spy, it spends it's time working with the kwami to learn their abilities and trying to track down Hawkmoth and prevent his akuma from attacking properly when possible via patrols while wielding the different Miraculous, switching on a dime to Dedication when a threat is spotted.
There's more to come, lots of angst, lots of salt and some eventual character development for Adrien, and maybe, just maybe, Gabriel gives the perfect person the perfect akuma power because, just maybe, he actually is competent for once.
But we'll see. :)

something i think would be Neat (it will not happen lol)
a s4 glaciator-esque marichat bonding scene that opens both of their eyes to what the other is going through. In glaciator, Marinette had no idea how hurt chat was about her rejections. She didn’t know he was serious. She thought it was all an act. and adrien had no idea that marinette was also feeling heartbroken. But their brief talk helped them understand each other better. Adrien was able to comfort his friend in a time of need, and Marinette saw chat’s soft side, a sincerity she’s never seen before, and from that point on she knew she had to be honest with him but also gentle with his feelings, which were very real.
Right now in season 4, Marinette also has no idea how hurt chat is feeling. She hasn’t seen his angry outbursts, his sad looks when her back is turned. She is buying his forced nonchalance. She’s relieved that he seems to be the same old silly kitty he’s always been. but he’s not. She had assumed he was acting in glaciator when he wasn’t, and now she assumes he is not acting when he actually is. She can’t really be blamed for this. She has a lot of problems to deal with, and he’s a good actor.
But imagine what could change in the ladynoir dynamic if there was another marichat “intervention”:
adrien, feeling ignored and useless and lonely, transforms one night to go out and clear his head. He sees marinette, who is just so stressed and tired and worried about everything that she came out on her balcony for some fresh night air to just sit and feel nothing for once. he stops by to say hi (post-weredad, it’s not quite as out-of-the-blue as it was the first time).
he notices she seems stressed. asks her about it. she keeps it vague but is as honest as she can be, and it feels good to share this burden with chat noir, at least a little bit, in a way she hasn’t done as ladybug because she’s trying so hard to keep it together.
chat noir is a good listener. he’s attentive. kind. understanding. but something is bothering him too. she prods a little and he confesses how lost he feels. like ladybug doesn’t need him anymore. how he feels so bitter and angry, and he hates that he feels that way because he knows she wouldn’t replace him or forget him but he just can’t help feeling like he’s being left behind yet again.
marinette is surprised. with how busy she’s been as ladybug, she hadn’t had much time to stop and think about how everything might be affecting chat noir. he didn’t seem hurt. but maybe he was too good at hiding it. maybe his smiles and jokes were a little too forced and she never noticed.
chat gets quiet. “sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth it anymore. the lies. the secrets. sometimes I wonder if she even needs me. If it would even make a difference to her if i was gone.”
she’s shocked. Hurt. “Of course it would.” She assures him that ladybug needs him and cares about him and values him. He offers a smile but it doesn’t quite reach his eyes. “We all need you,” she says finally. “Paris needs Chat Noir. And so do I.”
“Thanks for saying that,” he says softly.
“I’m not just saying it. I mean it.”
She pulls him into a hug. He’s stiff at first, surprised, but then he relaxes and hugs her back. It feels good to hold each other. It feels good to have someone who cares.
When they let go, he feels much better. He thanks marinette for listening and wishes her luck with the stressful things she mentioned. “If you ever need a helping paw, I’m here,” he says. She tells him to wait. Disappears into her room and comes back with a pastry wrapped in a napkin.
“You know, if you feed a stray, they’ll just keep coming back,” he jokes.
She smiles. “I know.”
She watches him leave, heart breaking out how defeated he had looked. She had never meant to push him away; she just had a lot going on. She thought his ignorance would protect him (she still has nightmares about blue eyes behind a white mask), but now she wonders if it would be better for him to know—not everything, but some things. As much as she could tell him. Like how she’d confessed her identity to Rena Rouge when she was at breaking point. How she’s given Rena a miraculous permanently. She figures she should finally tell him the identities of the other heroes—which hawkmoth knows, but chat still doesn’t.
Maybe knowing will help him feel trusted, she thinks. Maybe that will protect him more than anything else. (She hopes so. She won’t let chat blanc happen to him again.)
When adrien gets home, he has a message from ladybug. “I’m sorry I’ve been so distant lately. I owe you a chat. Paw-trol tomorrow, just you and me?”
He answers, and for the first time in a long time, he feels peaceful. He eats his marinette pastry, grateful for her kindness and warmth, and he thinks that maybe everything will be okay after all. They were still a team. It was still him and her against the world, as always. And ladybug and chat noir will always save the day, together.
[upbeat music playing over marichat endcard 😌]

Honestly I agree Lila and Zoe SHOULD be a combined character it would even be good lesson for kids (that I believe is rarely taught now) that just because someone acts/behaves/looks nice doesn’t mean that they are nice deep down and people can just simply act nice to take advantage of you (which also works with Zoe’s motivation to become an actor as well)
It'd also be a way of showing a lesson of how to deal and not deal with that sort of person. Because the sort of manipulator that Zoe would represent is in a lot of ways worse than the standard bully that Chloe is.
Part of Chloe's problem in this setup would be in that she's overly reactionary in general. She would be especially sensitive to what Zoe does and wouldn't handle it well because she's so focused on what Zoe is doing that she doesn't realize why people don't believe her. If she stayed calm and thought things through, she could avoid falling into Zoe's trap.
The lesson that Lila presents in canon is supposed to be that lying is bad, but it doesn't work because Marinette is our point of view character and she knows from the start that Lila is lying. As such, we as the audience knew going in that Lila was a liar and is in the wrong with no buildup or reveal to it because it's literally the first thing we learn about her in the episode and the series proper. Because of this, it feels more jarring that the lesson seems to be more that Marinette is the one wrong for calling out Lila's lies and hurting her feelings than Lila is for choosing to lie about her in the first place when it is clear that Lila is not a good person and we are NOT supposed to be supporting her.
It would hit more if Marinette and the audience walked into this situation just as blind as everyone else. Because Zoe would be subtle and not overreach in her lies. Rather than rely on false claims of relationships, she would play on the emotional heartstrings of the class more by throwing Chloe under the bus and making herself look like Chloe's victim. Tell stories about their childhood and all the ways Chloe tried to get her in trouble over the years (especially as it would technically be the truth). That would immediately gain her the sympathy of the entire class and Marinette (as she has been Chloe's go-to victim) AS WELL AS the sympathy of the audience since we would know about Chloe and how she is by this point so the idea of Chloe bullying and mistreating her sister would seem pretty likely.
Then have the reveal come out slowly but surely. Hints here and there that indicate Zoe may not be as innocent or as much of a victim as she initially appears. Show a shot of Chloe ranting to Adrien. Show Adrien trying to support Chloe and everyone chalk it up to him being her friend and not knowing better. Have Marinette overhear Chloe's version of the past event Zoe mentioned. Have Zoe pull a similar stunt in current day and someone actually pay attention and notice things aren't lining up. Have someone actually witness the confrontation between Zoe and Chloe where Zoe smugly admits to setting Chloe up again.
That sense of betrayal would hit the audience then about as much as the character and would cement that yes, Zoe is the one in the wrong here. With none of this, "yeah, she did wrong but so-and-so did worse so that equals it out" BS that the show tends to do.
It would also ultimately be a lesson to Chloe that while Zoe has been manipulative and horrible to her, her way of responding to her and just how she has been acting in general has neither been okay nor helpful. Part of the reason nobody believes Chloe is because she very much IS a bully and they all know it. Zoe wouldn't have to make up much because Chloe's own past actions work against her and Zoe knows that. It would show that the biggest obstacle Chloe has in dealing with this problem is herself, past and present. And it would be a major milestone for Chloe in her arc. Not just about redemption, but maturity.

Hello there
Can I please get the twins being moronsexuals?
Where the s/o (gender neutral please) is a massive airhead to the point where the twins stop bulllying them because the s/o don't understand they are being insulted
Like let's say they the twins called them the most ugly person on the planet
the s/o is like "wow, really? You think I can get a prize for that?
My classes started again and I forget that they were time consuming :') Sorry y'all-
I really like this idea, boo! I'm sorry if it's a bit lackluster tho ;v;
TW/Tags: I love this idea, so I'm sorry I didn't really do much with it- // Reader is a thembo // degrading language, very rude comments // slight mentions of strict/kinda mean parents // kinda short, sorry boo- // manipulation/controlling behavior // both parts of each sibling are very similar // cursing // disrespect towards the reader/darling //
Dumb Dummy [Yandere!Bully!OCs x GN!Reader - Headcanon]:
→ Adrien Coldwell:
I like to think that it would actually take a while for him to notice how airheaded you actually are, as he would think that maybe you were just playing dumb to stop him from getting the upper hand.
But now he feels like HE is the dumb one since it took so long for him to realize you have zero brain sells up there.
Kinda insulting, don't you think? He already isn't considered the "most beloved" and "smart one" of the twins, but to think he actually thought you were smarter than the rest of the students- What was he thinking??
You're a dumbass, it's just that simple. Honestly good on you for making him think you knew a thing or two, but where is the fun in playing with someone who is so oblivious?
The logical conclusion after seeing how you're literally unbothered by his behavior would be to give up and move to another target, but since his obsession with you has outgrown the "common ground" of bullying and it's now some deeply rooted, unhealthy infatuation then he HAS to at least go with it.
This is totally NOT because he is sexually attracted to your lack of brain! (Wink wink, sarcasm).
Considering how possessive he is, you can imagine that he would take advantage of your unawareness to keep you close to himself, somehow including you in his friend group while ignoring what the others may say about it. You're basically walking around with the most selfish people in Amaryllis Academy- And considering the amount of entitled assholes here, that's saying something!
He won't bring you to torment the other students, you probably won't be able to keep up with him anyway- He thinks you would probably be too dumb to be unnecessarily mean to others, but then again, you won't have to do any of that anyway. As long as you stay beside him, you won't have to worry about maintaining a certain "respectful" status.
More like feared, actually.
Because of the way he will literally glue you to himself- People may start trying to pick on you (or him, considering how it's kinda obvious how much attention he gives you while still claiming that it's only for "pity for your poor, dumb soul")- It's possible he'll become even more, ya know, "strict" towards you and the people around you.
No one can say shit about you except him! How dare any of these people even think they can mess with you two?? Did people forget who he is?!
He'll convince you to spend time with him for as long as you can, and whenever someone tries to disturb your peace he'll make sure they won't come back anytime soon. Maybe you'll hear about their whereabouts, maybe not- It depends on how badly he'll destroy their reputation.
Adrien loves having you be this dumb, as he can excuse his behavior by claiming it's just him being a good, protective guardian friend! He shouldn't abuse your kindness, but he is willing to make you do a couple of things for him- Mostly just grabbing something for his lazy ass.
Honestly this may be the best scenario for him- I mean, you are already so close to him that it doesn't really matter that you're stupid, you're his entertainment, his little darling! It does take a bit of patience to work with you, but he thinks it's pretty worth it.
→ Alexandra Coldwell:
I like to think that it would actually take a while for her to notice how airheaded you actually are, as she would think that maybe you were just playing dumb to stop her from getting the upper hand.
But now she feels like SHE is the dumb one since it took so long for her to realize you have zero brain sells up there.
Would her parents still consider her an Coldwell if they knew how dumb you are and that not only did she have a crush on you but that she actually thought you were smarter than her?? Cause honestly, she can't even believe how naive she was to overestimate you.
You're an idiot, she knows that now. She would give you the prize of "most convincing actor in non-loser behavior" but you're clearly not deserving of that. Maybe the prize of "best looking moron of the century" would fit better. Ugh! But then you would think she is being serious- God, you're unbearable!
The logical conclusion after seeing how you're literally unbothered by her behavior would be to give up and move to another target, but since her obsession with you has outgrown the "common ground" of bullying and it's now some deeply rooted, unhealthy infatuation then she HAS to at least go with it.
This is totally NOT because she is sexually attracted to your lack of brain! (Wink wink, sarcasm).

Alexandra loves having you be this dumb, she can make various excuses to spend time with you in the falsehood of it being just study sessions, isn't she such a sweet heart?! She shouldn't abuse your "fragile mind", but she is willing to make you do a arbitrary tasks for the sake of her own enjoyment- They're mostly just little inconveniences that make you look and sound so much cuter, like for example when she asks you to repeat romantic gestures for "no reason".
Honestly this may be the best scenario for her- I mean, you are already so close to her that it doesn't really matter that you're stupid, you're her entertainment, her little darling! It does take a bit of patience to work with you, but she thinks it's pretty worth it.

Canary, Part 5
First
Previous
Tim tipped his head to the side as he considered the woman in front of him.
She had a slightly nervous smile as she pulled one of her earbuds out of her ears. “Hi.”
Her eyes flicked past him and, after quickly glancing back to make sure no one was about to attack him, he realized she was feeling cornered.
… probably because she was currently being cornered.
He hesitantly took a few steps to the side until he could lean against the wall. “I’m not here to hurt you or anything, I just want to talk,” he promised.
Her hand slipped out of her pocket. He was willing to bet that she had some kind of weapon in there.
Which was good, honestly. Gotham was a dangerous place for newcomers like her.
“... so, what’re you here for?” She asked when he didn’t say anything for a while.
He bit his lip as he considered her.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, 27.
The first time they’d spotted her following them around, they’d assumed she was just another alias of Canary… but the fourteen aliases they had found for Canary so far had always had one thing in common: despite how far back it may have gone or how many connections she may have had, there was never anyone alive to corroborate her story.
She would have definitely done that this time since there was a 100% chance that the bats would notice her. Canary would have made sure that, no matter what, they couldn’t pop on over to anyone’s house and ask about her.
But Marinette had two parents. They were back in Paris, of course, but they still existed. Babs had spotted them walking to the grocery store just yesterday. They had a consistent call history with them dating back years.
He had entertained the idea that they could be paid actors… but Canary worked alone. She had informants and sponsors, sure, but partners? No. It had been nine years, if she was going to start working with people she probably would have done that already.
Marinette checked out.
… or, at least, she checked out in all ways but two.
“How did you get here?” Asked Tim.
Marinette frowned a little. “... plane?”
He shook his head. “We have footage of you at Roissy Airport, but you never arrived in Gotham.”
Her skin paled. “Must be a glitch.”
Okay. That’s definitely not suspicious at all, no way.
He raised his eyebrows. “I don’t think so, no.”
“Maybe you missed me.”
“With our facial recognition scanners? And three people checking it over?”
Her hand was back in her pocket and her eyes were flicking to the exit nervously.
“I’m not going to deport you or anything,” he added quickly. “Lots of people here aren’t documented and that’s totally fine, the immigration system is totally messed up… I’ll shut up about that now, that’s not helping... I just… want to know. Curious.”
“Paranoid,” she corrected with a hesitant grin.
“... cautious,” he said after a few seconds.
“Sure, if that’s what you want to call it.”
“It’s much nicer than paranoid, that’s for sure,” he said, crossing his arms over his chest.
She rolled her eyes and he smiled as some of the tension in her shoulders disappeared.
“The horse miraculous,” she said after a few seconds. “That’s how I got here.”
He sighed internally. Metas in Gotham. Not good. There was a reason that rule was in place. If metas -- even good ones -- started coming then there was nothing stopping the huge, otherworldly threats from following them over. They’d stick with their overdramatic fucks that need therapy, thanks, their gadgets didn’t exactly hold up against literal gods.
And then Marinette giggled. “You don’t need to look so scared. The weird old guy who holds onto all the miraculous… he doesn’t really use them, he just keeps them locked in a weird box thing. I just…” She shrugged. “I had something on him and he was more than happy to get rid of me.”
… well, that’s a little concerning, thought Tim.
Not exactly unexpected, though. She’d very publicly gotten a restraining order by Chat Noir around ten years prior and, while none of the other miraculous holders had come out against her, many of the ones that had revealed themselves as holders had already denounced her. Tim wouldn’t have been surprised if she had stalked more of them -- hell, she was stalking him and his family, clearly she hadn’t limited herself to Chat Noir.
But this raised his second question: “Why now?”
She cringed. “Well, I’d thought about moving a long time ago. No place in France was going to hire me with the whole ‘stalking one of their beloved superheroes’ thing… but I decided to stay for a while. I didn’t want it to seem like I was running away, y’know?”
He nodded his understanding slowly. That made sense. It wasn’t a decision based on logic, but not all decisions are.
She smiled awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck. “Also, I kind of missed having superheroes, to be honest.”
Tim raised his eyebrows. He wasn’t going to correct her use of the word ‘superheroes’ instead of ‘vigilantes’, English was at least her second language and that would be rude, so he went down a different route: “I thought they still had their miraculous. It’d be stupid if they didn’t. Mayura is still out there and all.”
“As far as I know, everyone but Ladybug and Chat Noir gave up their miraculous. Everyone knows Mayura is just Adrien Agreste even if we can’t prove it. Nothing else makes sense,” she said with a shrug.
He bit his lip. “I thought that the secretary disappeared that day, though. Wasn’t it her?”
“Nathalie Sancoeur? I heard she moved to America,” Marinette said with a shrug. “But America hasn’t had any attacks, so no one in Paris thinks it was her. Adrien is probably just waiting until the miraculous holders drop their guards.”
He nodded slowly. He didn’t realize he was going to be gossiping and discussing conspiracy theories with a person who stalked heroes but, he had to admit, it was kind of fun. Reminded him of the good old days when he was just a kid who followed the bats around for fun.
… but that wasn’t how things were anymore. He had responsibilities now. Which he was currently not doing. Oops.
“I should get back to work.”
“I should get back to watching you work,” she half-joked.
He hesitated. “Is there any way I can convince you not to do that? Gotham isn’t Paris, it’s dangerous here.”
She grinned. “I stalked a guy who had a literal god at his beck and call. I can handle a few odd goons,” she said.
He bit his lip but nodded. “Call for help if you ever need it.”
“Fine. Fine.”
He got the distinct feeling that she wasn’t going to but he was going to give her the benefit of the doubt just for now.
He pulled his grapple gun from his belt and hooked it around the rooftop.
“See you later.”
“Well, you will see me later, I’ll --,” she began, only to cut herself off with a gasp: “NO!”
He quickly checked over his shoulder but he didn’t see anything. He turned back to her, questioning look on his face, only to see her devastated expression.
“Cedric died,” she said sadly, pointing at the ear with the earbud still in it.
…?
~
Marinette sat in a coffee shop, sipping at a drink as she worked on her computer.
Tim Drake had five coffee shops that he enjoyed. The tiny tweet she’d sent out a little over a week ago ensured that he wasn’t going to be allowed coffee at his place of work. So, he was likely to go and get coffee somewhere else. She was currently sitting at the one closest to WE.
… it was very expensive. She needed to drink her coffee slower.
She squinted at her resume with a frown.
She was pretty sure it was good enough to get in, but…
Marinette sighed lightly and let her head hit the table. Fuck. She hated this stupid job so much.
She heard the chair across from her scrape against the wooden floors and slowly lifted her head. She squinted at the guy in front of her for a minute.
“Hello,” she said carefully.
The brown-haired man smiled at her.
She glanced him up and down. He was clean in a slimy kind of way. He was too nice. His hair was coiffed perfectly, his suit neatly pressed, his face clean-shaven. People who had the guts to dress like that in Gotham were always the worst of the worst.
“Hi!” he said cheerfully.
She sighed. “You weren’t even going to ask if you could sit here?”
“You’ve been alone for a while. Figured it was safe to assume you didn’t have anyone.”
Cool. Cool cool cool. Her hand slipped to the dagger hidden in her hoodie pocket. She may not know what kind of bad he was, but he was definitely bad news.
“No, actually, I was just waiting for my friend to get off work so they could join me.”
“Oh! I’ll keep you company until they show up!”
Damn. She hated when people called her bluff.
She forced her most pleasant smile to her face. “No thanks. I have work to do, actually.”
“Applying for jobs, right?”
She paled.
“Sorry, but I was curious so I just peeked over your shoulder a little bit. I actually had a couple of openings at my job, and you seem like a good candidate, if you’d like --.”
“No!” She said quickly.
His smile didn’t waver, but his eyes narrowed just a little. “I was just offering you a job.”
“I don’t want to get a job this way. I prefer the formal interview process and everything,” she lied.
“Oh, well, my company is having interviews tomorrow and there should be an open spot around --.”
A hand came to rest on the man’s shoulder.
“Hey, bud, she said no.”

The Hit on the Groom and What Became of It - Chapter 3/Leaps in logic (and over the edge of the rooftop)
Chapter 1  -|-  Previous -|- Next
---------
Adrien’s day wasn’t good at first. Okay, it was straight-up terrible. For most, their wedding is supposed to be a happy day. Or at least a reason for celebrations. Adrien? He couldn’t even hope for a cake since it would ruin his model body.
For the last several months, his father was working him into an early grave. The extra photo sessions, harder classes, new exercise regime… and Lila. The last one was terrifying.
Adrien tried to hold onto hope that his father would in the end cancel the whole affair. That he would drop the ridiculous notion of wedding or at least push it back. The young model wasn’t sure exactly why was his father so insistent on pushing for the wedding. He repeatedly asked himself if Lila was blackmailing his father, but it was hard to think of anything that his father possibly could be blackmailed with. Adrien spent countless hours wondering if his father had some dark secret, but it didn’t fit the man.
Did the designer have an affair with Nathalie? No… he already got angry about the suggestion once. And even if so, it wasn’t something that he would be so ashamed about.
Was his father doing some illegal business dealings? It was somewhat possible, but what? It would need to be something big. Something extremely big.
Thinking rationally, he had no idea what could it be…
What could be so big that it was worth more than the happiness of his only son?
--------
When one looks at all that, being kidnapped right at the altar was almost… nice. Sure, Adrien had been dragged by a sentient pile of mud into the sewers and then carried to some unknown location. Sure, his beautiful suit was ruined and all the hard work Marinette put into her work was irreversibly wasted.
But, he was not married to Lila.
The pile of mud dragged him deep into the sewers until they found a ladder leading up. It appeared to be grievously damaged, with several steps in the row removed. Adrien didn’t protest much when he was lifted up and into the place above.
The place turned out to be a quite comfy flat. It was overall smaller than Adrien’s room back in Paris, but it felt more welcoming. It only had one big room, divided in half with a plywood panel. In the first ‘room’, there was a couch, a small table with three chairs, a tv on a cabinet, and two armchairs. It all appeared to be old and worn out. The second part held two beds (one without any mattress), a desk with an old computer, and a kitchen annex. It was… nice. Adrien almost liked it better than the big, sterile manor.
The pile of mud seated him on one of the chairs before condensing into humanoid form. Slowly, his body turned human and in the end, he looked almost exactly like the wedding officiator. The man pulled his phone and sent some text before turning to Adrien.
“Do you want something to eat?” He asked, walking over to the kitchen annex.
“Um… anything would do.” Adrien hesitantly spoke up. He was only slightly scared. Honestly, first, he is saved from the wedding and now he is given free food? Yes, purr-lease!
“Vegan or non-vegan?”
“I would kill for a fat, juicy steak…” Adrien remembered his last photo session, which was advertising the summer collection. One of the photos had him standing over the BBQ grill. The smell of the food being prepared almost made him salivate back then.
“Ah… The actor’s diet?” His kidnapper/savior asked, giving him a knowing look at the same time.
“Yeah… I’m a model, but I heard it’s the same” Adrien corrected.
“I’ll get you something. We need to wait anyway.”
Adrien chose not to speak to the man while he was cooking. It was still a bit awkward. He was being kidnapped.
It didn’t matter. The meal was too good to complain. Who cares about kidnapping when one is given some meat. It was a light meal, probably not to upset his stomach, but it was still more than he hoped for that day.
Of course, it couldn’t be that pretty.
The moment Adrien finished with the first piece of meat and was reaching for another, the doors were violently kicked and a man entered. He was dressed in a red bodysuit with silverly metallic elements. His helmet had one eye replaced with a red… monocle?
The explosion was quickly followed by a single gunshot. The moment it sounded, Clayface (because that was the name of the ‘pile of mud’) became frozen in place. Literally. He was covered head to toes in ice.
“My steak!” Adrien cried as he was being dragged away by the newcomer.
They were already away when Clayface managed to break through the ice. He wanted to pursue them, but his phone rang suddenly, giving him a pause.
“Who is this?!” He snarled, irritated at the interruption.
“I was led to believe you have what I wanted.” The voice on the other side growled and Clayface paused. It sent shivers down his figurative spine. His employer sounded dangerous.
“Ah… Yes… There’s been a… complication.” He stuttered, hoping it wasn’t too apparent. Whoever was on the other side made a terrifying first impression.
“What do you mean ‘complication’?” They hissed. Clayface stumbled and almost dropped the phone. He knew the employer was someone powerful, but it was a whole new level of scary. Sure, he was technically a mercenary, but until today his biggest job was some light security gig. This was supposed to be his way of reinventing himself into part of the major league. But this was being much more overwhelming.
He quickly got to the point where his employer should’ve been somewhat satisfied and hanged up quickly. He had to get the boy before he became the target himself.
----------
Elsewhere, Adrien was starring into a pair of curious sea-green eyes.
When his new kidnapper brought him to the apartment and tied him to the chair, Adrien was still bemoaning the loss of his steak. He disliked the lack of freedom, but he was still feeling safer than with Lila and his father. Objectively looking at it, he knew it was wrong, but he preferred to be kidnapped.
To his surprise, the kidnapped tossed him and the chair into some spare room of the flat they were in when the doorbell rang. There were also some curse words, but Adrien chose to disregard them.
It took a very energetic girl (about two years younger than him) all five minutes to figure out he was in that room. Not that the man made it particularly hard, leaving the doors half-open and all that.
She leveled her head so that they were on an equal level and stared into his face with an inquisitive glare.
“Daddy! You promised not to work on our day together!” She turned to the man and complained. “You clearly kidnapped him!”
“I’m really sorry, cupcake. I didn’t plan it. The time zone changes can really mess up with the calendar.”
“If it helps, this is better than the alternative.” Adrien smiled shyly.
“How is being tied to the chair good?”
“It’s better than being forced to get married.” The boy deadpanned.
“Fine.” She then turned to her father “But you will untie him. He can join us in our board game evening.” She declared imperatively.
“You won’t try anything, right?” The man glared at Adrien, who shrugged (as much as the binds allowed him).
“I quite like it here. I could do with some water, but it’s really better than how the day was supposed to go.”
The man sighed and walked over to the boy. The rope fell to the floor and Adrien could move freely. Yet, he didn’t immediately move. He did try to get up, but the world swirled and blackness consumed his consciousness.
----------
When he woke up, he was once again faced with a set of sea-green eyes. The girl apparently liked to stare at faces in close quarters. Not that Adrien complained much as long as she didn’t actually touch him. He was used to the attention.
“You must’ve been really tired. Daddy said he almost wanted to get you to a hospital.” That woke Adrien very quickly.
“No hospital!” He launched himself to sit straight up and almost crashed with the girl. Luckily, she moved out of the way. Otherwise, her father might’ve actually sent him to the hospital. Probably in pieces too.
“Don’t worry.” Speaking of the devil, the man entered the room with a platter full of fast food and a glass of water. There was a hamburger there!
“Zoe. Please leave us alone for a moment. I need to discuss some things with Mr. Agreste.”
“Sure. But remember you promised not to hurt him. And we promised him board games.” She reminded her father before happily skipping out of the room.
Once she was out, the man handed him the platter and Adrien practically leaped to devour the food.
“So…” His kidnapper/temporary caretaker started awkwardly. “If it’s any help, I’m sorry for kidnapping you.”
“Dot wowwy” Adrien dismissed him with a mouth full of burger. His father would lock him up for months if he saw him, but the boy was way past caring about it. He gulped before continuing though, as it was a shame to waste anything of the tasty goodies. “Seriously, you guys are making me a favor.”
“Huh?” The man raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah! If not for this,” he gestured vaguely around the room, albeit it was clear he meant kidnapping, “I would’ve probably been married already.”
“Ah… And I guess the wedding wasn’t your idea.” It wasn’t a question. Deadshot (because he was the kidnapper if it wasn’t yet obvious) had some experience with runaway brides. Grooms escaping arranged marriage were rarer, but not unheard of. He used to take those tasks without remorse. At least until one time, when he tracked the bride, instead of an adult woman like usual, he found a pre-teenage girl. She couldn’t have been older than his own daughter at the time.
Let’s just say that he failed to deliver that contract. Or any similar in the future.
“Sir?” Adrien asked once he finished the meal.
“Yeah?”
“Could I get some more?”
“In a moment. Let what you ate settle down first.” He scolded him lightly, his parental instincts kicking in. “So, do you have any idea who might’ve wanted you kidnapped?”
“Not really… Only Marinette and Gerard cared about my opinion on this matter. And neither is the kind that would arrange a kidnapping.” He did his best not to think about his past as Chat Noir. No one but Ladybug knew, but his Lady wasn’t someone that would get involved with criminals. And even then, he doubted she could afford mercenaries. He always thought they were expensive. Could someone else figure out he used to be Chat Noir?
“Hm…” Lawton focused for a moment. “And what about The Seamstress? She is a completely new player that came out of nowhere. I suspected she might’ve had a personal connection to you. What about your father? Could someone want to get back at him? Especially someone with that name?”
“You do know what my dad does for the living?” Adrien deadpanned.
“Yes, but did he anger someone? Enough that they would want to ruin him?” The man pressed.
“It would be easier to list people he didn’t anger. My father is not… not the easiest to be around.” The light that was in the boy’s eyes just moments ago dimmed slightly. “Why are you asking all this?” He suddenly perked up and met the gaze of the mercenary.
“Honestly, I really dislike the jobs involving kids. I thought that you were just another bratty teenage star that got his way with the wedding. A kid wanting to be treated like an adult. Now… now I can’t with clear conscience return you or deliver you.”
Adrien held back any witty remarks about hired gun having a conscience. “So… I’m living with you?”
“Sadly, no. I’m not around often enough and there is still a price on your head.” Lawton pulled out his phone and carefully read through something. “The more I think of it, the more it looks like you are not the most important part.”
That got Adrien’s attention. His own brain started to work overtime to get the meaning. “What?”
“The wording of the contract. ‘Grab from the wedding’, ‘possibility of further assignments’, ‘very public’… and the price is unreasonably high for such a simple task. It appears as if whoever The Seamstress is wanted a show. Like she wanted to recruit whoever brought you in. It appears as if she was setting up some sort of competition over who brings you to her.”
“But why me?” Adrien ran through ideas, but only him being Chat Noir would make sense in the long run.
“Publicity. Your old man made sure the wedding was the event of the decade.” The merc simply shrugged. “If they wanted to announce their entrance to the big league, they would pick the biggest, most prominent target.”
“Figured father is to blame…” Adrien grumbled before reaching into his pocket. “I… would like to call a friend of mine. To reassure her I’m safe.”
“She won’t run to the police?” Lawton was hesitant to allow it but also didn’t have the heart to tell him no. The kid was emotional wreck. And if his appetite was anything to go by, it was possible physical abuse was also there.
“Marinette wouldn’t do anything dangerous. She… I think she was trying to stop the wedding. Or delay it.”
“The girl that stood up shortly before the panic?”
“Yeah… She used… She’s a friend of mine. Probably the last true friend I have left.”
“I see… Okay, call her. But make sure not to mention anything about me. Just in case.”
There was a moment of tense silence while Adrien waited for his friend to pick up. Finally, after the fifth signal, there was a rustle on the other side.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng speaking. Who do I have the pleasure with?” She spoke almost mechanically. To someone who never met her before, it might’ve sounded sincere. To Adrien, it sounded like she was exhausted both physically and emotionally. He almost blamed himself, but at the last second shifted it all onto Lila and his Father.
“Marinette!? Are you okay?” He asked, wanting to make sure there was nothing truly wrong.
“Adrien!? Adrien!” She immediately seemed to cheer up. “Where are you!? Are you okay? What happened? Did they hurt you? Are you safe?” She finally paused to take a breath.
“I’m okay, Marinette. I might’ve sorta gotten myself kidnapped,” he realized how bad that sounded as the words left his mouth, “but it’s all okay! It’s better than it was!” He rushed to reassure her, albeit his method was not a hundred percent successful.
“Are you safe?” Was the question she repeated. It sounded almost… guilty. To Adrien’s tired brain though, such subtle details were second to the question.
“I’m probably good. Someone put a bounty on me, but it’s all about me being alive. It’s like whoever did it accidentally saved me from the wedding.” He chuckled a bit darkly, thinking about how much of a temper tantrum Lila must’ve been throwing since his disappearance.
“Call me back later, okay?” There was a sudden urgency that Adrien did pick on. “I have something that needs to be sorted out.”
“What’s happening?”
“Just my Maman is coming. She is knocking right now.” With that, she hanged up. Adrien relaxed. There was no danger. And even if there was, it probably just ran away to hide as Sabine Cheng came to town.
“Kid, you done?” Deadshot walked back into the room with another hamburger.
“Yeah. I feel much better now. Thanks for the opportunity.”
“Don’t sweat it. Listen… I can’t just keep you, but I called some friends of mine. They’re willing to help you. Well, she is. Her girlfriend is just going with it for her sake.”
Lawton carefully studied Adrien to see his reaction to mentioning the couple, but there was no visible reaction. He just watched the hamburger with a hungry gaze.
-------
Elsewhere, an exhausted kwami flew out of the jewel. Hawkmoth was one step from tossing the jewel at the wall.
“I don’t understand! He should be terrified by now! He was kidnapped! They wouldn’t kill him after going so long to kidnap him!”
“Maybe your powers aren’t as good as you’ve thought?” another voice spoke from the shadows. Lex Luthor walked into the center to join Gabriel Agreste.
“They didn’t have time to move him out of the city before I started the search. Not without magic and he said there was no magical travel to or from Gotham so far.” Gabriel paced around the room.
“While you were playing with your precious jewels, I actually used some of my contacts. It appears that someone ordered a hit on your son. They wanted him kidnapped from the wedding.”
“What?!” Gabriel paused and glared at the other man.
“While I can’t stop it or even try to outbid them, I do know of one person I can convince to take this task. And she just happened to be coming to Gotham this very moment.”
“Fine. I want my son back, or our deal is off, Luthor.”
“Don’t worry. He will see the Light soon.”

Adrigami actors AU
Hey everyone!
I know I am lagging behind when it comes to posting stuff. My personal life has gotten a bit busy. But my readers have asked me for more Adrigami.
I am absolutely flattered that my readers are asking for more Adrigami and I am stunned the fanbase is still around...I figured the fanbase would be dead after the travesty that happened.
But I do technically have this ficlet...I am sorry it isn’t much. I do got plenty of other Adrigami fanfics planned I am just...Busy right now.
Basically this fanfic is inspired off the Lukanette actors AU where Luka and Marinette are actors who disapprove of script for season 4.
I wanted to write an Adrigami version.....I hope it’s good enough.
Warning: This ficlet is generally anti adrienette and anti love square, you have been warned.
Enjoy lovebugs! <3

Adrien was at his wit's end as he sat on a bench by the pier and clutched his blonde hair.
"That was painful!" He cried. "What were the show writers thinking?"
His girlfriend Kagami sat beside him and gave him a sympathetic look.
"I thought you did very well, Adrien," Kagami said gently.
Adrien raised his head and threw his hands up. "I felt like a total clown!"
Kagami held on to his arm. "That was what the show writers were going for," she whispered into his ear.
"I cheated on your character," Adrien said with disgust in his voice. "My character is supposed to be likable and a good guy, but my character cheated on yours."
"Why do fans praise this type of stuff?!" Adrien cried. "Even the show's narrative saw nothing wrong with the cheating," Adrien hung his head.
Kagami looked at her boyfriend with nothing but understanding in her eyes, knowing that it was all just a stupid act.
"All this just to get my character together with Marinette's character. It's absolutely ridiculous!" Adrien cried. "Marinette is just a friend. I cannot stress that enough!"
Kagami had to agree deep down, but she didn't have much say on the show she starred in, no matter how ridiculous the show becomes.
"It wasn't you," Kagami said. "You don't have to feel guilty."
Kagami turned and took a moment to rub her temple. "It was hard for me to say that Marinette recognized your schedule and that you and Marinette were made for each other with a straight face."
Adrien gave a pleased smile. "You are a better actor than me Kagami. Sometimes I get so frustrated that I just want to freehand the script. After all, sometimes the best scenes are against the original script."
"And when the director told Marinette and me to close the umbrella on both of us and laugh like love birds, I had to bite my tongue," Adrien cried.
But Adrien wasn't allowed to argue, no matter how arrogant the show writers are.
"Who laughs when they get trapped in an umbrella with someone else?" Adrien cried. He was starting to become a bit hysterical. "How is that romantic?!"
Kagami giggled slightly. "Maybe we should try it ourselves and see if it is really romantic."
Adrien and Kagami paused. They gave each other serious expressions until smiles formed from their faces, and they laughed over such a silly idea.
But they can only laugh at a bad script for so long until next week when they film for another lousy episode.
Adrien sighed. "Those snobby show writers refuse to recognize my genius! Like an entire episode of Chat Noir and Ryuuko fighting crime together."
Kagami smiled, thinking what could be if they were in charge of their own characters.
"I mean," Kagami took a moment to run her fingers on Adrien's thigh. A move she would always make when suggesting something to her boyfriend. Adrien was always excited over her adventurous suggestions.
"We could always roleplay that at home," Kagami said slyly.
Adrien turned and looked into Kagami's eyes. He was overcome by her adorable cat eyes that shined like tiger eye gemstones. He gently cupped her face with his hands and stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"Really, Kagami, you are the only queen in my eyes," Adrien said as his peridot green eyes sparkled for her.
Kagami smiled. "That's my Adrien," she said.
The pure sunshine boy she loved dearly. Selfless, heroic, and such a loyal gentleman.
Adrien and Kagami moved in for a kiss. A blissful kiss that they didn't get to share on camera. They playfully fought each other's lips as Kagami pulled out her phone and took a selfie of the two of them kissing.
When the two of them broke the kiss Kagami smiled at the perfect moment she expertly took despite her eyes being closed the entire time.
Adrien smiled and took Kagami's phone from her. Taking a moment to write down "I love Kagami!" before posting that image on his Instagram.
Kagami giggled for a moment. "You're going to make the fanbase so angry!"
Adrien took a moment to stroke Kagami's cheek again with his fingers as he gazed at his beautiful girlfriend. "Hm, doesn't matter to me."
The fans of the show wanted Adrien and Marinette to date in real life. It made all the actors uncomfortable because Marinette and Adrien already had their partners. It was disturbing how many fans couldn't distinguish tv shows and movies from reality.
Adrien took the latest script and tossed it into the ocean with a satisfied look on his face.
Kagami smirked over that idea and dropped her script into the ocean as well.
"God, if I read another script from the writers, I'll go insane," Adrien said. "They can't pay me to go on set and act like a clown again. Unless they want to see us make out!"
Kagami gave a pleased smile over that idea and gave her boyfriend a light kiss on the lips, causing a pleased smile to form on his lips. She was calm about it, but she wanted to raise a middle finger to the misogynistic showrunners as well.
Adrien then took his girlfriend's hand. "We should've done this long ago when Luka and Marinette quit."
Kagami pondered to herself for a moment. "I wonder if they found a new show yet."
Adrien gently squeezed Kagami's hand and stood up with her.
"We can join them!" Adrien announced. "Or we could find another show where you are a beautiful, powerful warrior princess, and I am the compassionate, loyal prince charming."
Kagami smiled over the idea as she and Adrien walked away from the filming set, not planning on returning.
"Now I want to spend all night writing a script," Kagami said.
"I can brainstorm with you!" Adrien said.
"After all, my queen needs a story that will do her justice," Adrien said as he brushed his cheek on hers.
Kagami smiled. "And my King needs a director who will give him an honorable role."
Author’s Note: Ok I had to admit I had fun writing shade like that. Really, that umbrella scene was ridiculous. When I saw that scene I almost called one of my friends and said “Hey, wanna get stuck in an umbrella with me and see if it will be romantic?”
Oh speaking of which. On WIP Wednesday I am gonna post a preview for an Adrigami fanfic I am working on. Stay tuned!
This is Emiko Gale signing out! <3

So it’s like 2 am rn and I’m tired but can’t sleep so I wrote this down quickly. It’s a little Marichat fic that probably won’t be very good because I’m running on like 5 hours of sleep. I’ll probably fix spelling mistakes tomorrow or even just delete this but for now, enjoy.
—————————
The class decided to have a picnic to celebrate their last year at Francois DuPont high school. They were about 17 now, some were 18. Everyone lounged around, eating pastries, talking about their first day back from summer and just genuinely having a good time. Unfortunately Adrien’s father had instructed him to go home so while he packed his belongings, he listened to his friends conversations. That was when he saw a younger girl run up to Lila.
Now Adrien knew he had a lot of fans, as Chat and as himself. The older and more, how you say, well defined he became, the more fans he acquired. Though when it came to Chat, being a fangirl was much more dangerous. At one point it got so bad that Ladybug had to schedule an interview with the Ladyblog telling them to stay away during akuma attacks. They would quite literally, chase after Chat while he was being chased after by an akuma. He even saw one of them pretend to be hurt so he would swoop in and save them. Yeah very dangerous stuff. Which is why it was quite a scared to hear that Lila was a fan.
“Of course I’m a fan of his, in fact, I’m quite close with one of Paris’s superheroes.” She spoke, hiding the lying tone to her voice. As irritating as she was, he had to admit she was good. “Really?” The girl squealed. She was on the younger side, maybe 13 or 14, about his age when he first got his Miraculous. “Oh leaving so soon Adrien?” She said in a sickeningly sweet voice. “Yeah, my father again.” He replied, trying to sound friendly. “I can walk you home if you like! I wanted to speak with Mr. Agreste anyways. About our up coming photo shoot.” Damn it, he’d almost forgotten about that. He hated shoots with Lila. Adrien had always liked physical affection, but with her it was almost unbearable. “No that’s ok, I can walk him.” Marinette offered, stepping in to shield him from the object of his discomfort. And what a beautiful shield she was.
Her days of pigtails were over, instead she would wear her hair in different styles everyday. Today was a half up half down style with space buns, very reminiscent of her fight as Multimouse. She has also settled for a mint green t-shirt and a black skirt which clearly paid homage to his superhero self. It was nearly impossible to wipe the Cheshire grin off his face as she strode over, picnic basket in hand. He was visiting her while she finished the little paw prints along the hem of the skirt, but of course she wouldn’t know that. “Wow miss, I really like your outfit! Where’d you get it?” The girl squeaked rushing over. Her eyes shining with pure joy. “Oh why thank you, I actually made it myself.” She curtsied, very adorably in his opinion. “Wow that’s so cool! Could you make me one?” If she got anymore excited she would float into space. “You know, I can get Chat to stop by if you wanted.” Lila chimed in, drawing the girls attention back to her. “Really?” She turned and ran towards her new favourite person. “Of course I can, my boyfriend always seems to find me.” She faked a gasp and quickly covered her mouth with her hand. “Whoops.” She exhaled. The class gasped. That was what she was looking for.
“You’re dating Chat Noir Lila?” Marinette snickered, silencing them. It was clear that Lila had more influence over the class now. As much as they all loved Marinette, Lila had successfully made herself more interesting. “Yes I am, but I wasn’t supposed to say that. Oh no, I’m going to get into so much trouble.” She delicately placed her fists over her chest for added effect. Marinette burst out laughing and that’s when Adrien slowly started to back away unnoticed by his friends.
He ran and ducked into an alley way making sure he wasn’t followed. “Oh come on kid, I didn’t even get anything from the picnic. You should have at least slipped me something.” Plagg groaned. “I will after I go sort this mess out, it’s dangerous if people think Lila is dating me, she could be targeted by Hawkmoth.” He rationalized. “Big deal, if she gets akumatized we can just purify her no problem.” “Uh yeah Plagg it is a big deal. What if Hawkmoth kidnaps her instead, as much as I don’t like her I don’t want anyone to get hurt because of me.” “Well kid if she gets kidnapped because she lied about dating you it’s not your fault is it? Now can I at least finished eating?” He sighed, Plagg was right. If she got kidnapped now she only had herself to blame. An idea did pop into his head. Maybe if she was proven wrong, she might stop saying things like that, and he knew the purrfect purrincess to help him achieve his goal. “Later, Plagg Claws Out!” A flash of green later and there’s stood Chat Noir, in all his leather-clad glory. Hopping onto the roof, he made to move towards them when the sound of shouting caught his attention.
“Do you realized how dangerous it is to even say things like that!” Marinette squeaked, really living up to her super identity and the mysterious multimouse. “You can’t just tell people you’re dating superheroes for attention Lila, you’re safety could be at risk.” She pointed, Lila seemed to be unphased but there was something about her posture that showed she was guilty and ticked off. “I already told you I didn’t mean to let it slip, I have a rare condition c-“ “called Liars Luny or something like that right?” Marinette interrupted. He had to hold back a laugh at her clever remark. “Marinette that was incredibly rude.” Rose intervened, and one by one everyone turned their faces to Marinette, a glared placed on almost all of them. All but Nino and Alya, who had long discovered Lila’s manipulative ways. Though they were still afraid to say anything about it, they didn’t want her to get akumatized after all.
“Look Marinette, if you’re jealous just say so, I won’t be mad. I’m sure a lot of other women would love to get their hands on my sweet kitten. I mean, considering your outfit it’s pretty obvious you have a crush on him.” You know, for a compulsive liar, Lila seemed to be good at getting the truth out of others. Marinette’s face turned pink and her fists began to clench. Her back stiffened up too, was she really jealous? Or was it just his imagination. Maybe he hoped she was, he had fancied her for a while now but he never made a move. Suddenly his classmates were surrounding her and she looked like she was on the verge of tears.
His anger from earlier started to rise to his chest as he let out a low growl and leapt off the roof. Thankfully, his years as a model made him a fairly decent actor as well.
“Fancy seeing you here my purrincess.” He purred walking over to the group. “You look radiant as always.” Lila stiffened but quickly tried to look relaxed as she confidently strode towards him. “It’s nice to see you here too kitten, couldn’t stay away from me I see.” She smiled, it almost looked genuine. It didn’t take long for her possi of classmates to follow behind, leaving Marinette standing there clearly distraught, he growled again as a tear slid down her cheek. Keeping it cool, he cooked up a response. “Umm, I’m sorry but do I know you?” He said in mock confusion. The class gasped slightly, “Of course you know me, didn’t you just call me your princess?” Lila chimed, placing a hand on his shoulder. “No. I have no idea who you are, I was talking to the lovely lady in green and black. She is radiant isn’t she, and she looks fantastic in my colours.” He replied cooly. Before anyone had time to react he ran through the crowd and picked up Marinette, twirling her in a circle. She giggled slightly, her throat a little strained. She placed her forearms on his shoulders, intertwining her fingers behind his head as he slowly lowered her to the ground. “What’s wrong love?” He reached up, gently brushing a tear from her cheek. She got the hint to play along. “Nothing I’m all good kitty.” She smiled genuinely and he smiled back. Ignoring the eyes of everyone around them. He held up his arm and gestures to her skirt. “Do you see all of these little paw prints? She sewed them all herself! It took her 4 hours too, I almost couldn’t draw her attention away from the stitching.” She blushed and buried her face in his shoulder, oh mon dieu she was so cute. “And these shoes,” he scooped her up bridal style and she laughed. “See the little toe beans, how adorable.” The girls squealed and ran over to admire her craftsman ship while the boys kept glaring daggers at Ms. Lie-la. “Ok now stand back everyone! We have to show you how it spins.” Marinette cocked and eyebrow at him. “How it spins? Excuse me sir but my pronouns are she/her.” He chuckled before pinching the black fabric of her skirt. “No I mean this, you did wear shorts today did you not?” “I did.” She confirmed. “Good,” he subtly winked at her before continuing, a little louder than necessary, “Wouldn’t want everyone else seeing what’s mine now would we.” Before she could register his words he held a hand above her head and gave her a little twirl, her skirt flowing beautifully in the wind. “See what’d I tell you? Absolutely beautiful.” He turned and smiled down at her, she blushed back up at him. Dieu, he could happily die drowning in her eyes. The two of them seemed to be in a world of their own, just looking at each other.
Until a voice snapped them back to reality. “I can’t believe you! You filthy cheater!” As well as a liar, Lila was a good actor. Tears streaming down her cheeks, arms straighten and hands curled into fists. He rolled his eyes before forcing them to look at a more revolting sight. “Like I said miss, I have no idea who-“ he paused “Oh wait I remember you! You were the liar that nearly got Marinette expelled weren’t you! The one who tried to intervene when Onii-chan was akumatized just because you disliked Ladybug.” He didn’t mean to get so angry but he couldn’t hide it anymore. His hand gripped Marinette’s shoulder a little more tightly than he would have liked but she wasn’t hurt by it. Everyone gasped on cue and turned to Lila who stood there pale. Karma is a bitch isn’t it? In his fury he barely registered Marinette’s hand on his arms. “Come on Chat, let’s get out of here.” She whispered. Coaxing him back to the present. “Yeah ok, I’m sure your friends will deal with her.” She smiled at her classmates who had turned towards Lila with furious looks on their faces. “Did you have a place in mind mousinette.” She giggled at that. “Well there’s always that spot you took me to the first time you came to visit, remember where it is?” She smiled. “I don’t think I would forget that.” He turned towards the crowd. “Welp, me and the princess will be taking our leave now, though I did enjoy seeing you all again.” Then he stooped down to pick her up bridal style as she giggled. For good measure he placed a light kiss to her temple before racing off towards that lovely spot they had just discussed.
“WHAT THE F***.” The fangirl screamed after all the confusion.
