The same 'here' that one of Lottie and Nat's old friends, Misty, turned up at about a week after Nat first got here, with somebody else, Waldo you recalled his name being, or Walter. The two of them later on being joined by some of their other friends, later of which, you learned their names, Tai, Van and Shauna.
More specifically, the 'here' that was known as the sharing shack, having been trying to track Lottie down for the last hour, having gotten lost at least a couple times, wanting to review one of your sessions for the week, unsure of what it meant. All of which was soon forgotten when you stumbled upon her and her old friends in said sharing shack, the previous conversation dying down pretty quickly upon your entry.

"Yeah don't worry about it, it's just like the group therapy you sat in on Monday morning, except more of how to cope with specific issues, rather then sharing experiences and stuff, since I know that's a tough thing for you to do." "O-okay," You replied, removing your gaze from your lap to glance up at her, before looking back at the group. "I don't know how, but you can, all of you can, help, I mean." You added, slightly flustered, as the brunette behind you shared a knowing look with the rest of the group, causing Nat to take your other hand, him and Misty standing you up and leading you back to Lottie's quarters, Shauna and Lottie following behind, Tai and Van following after them.
A million questions were running through your mind as you were lead toward Lottie's bedroom, like 'Was what you thought was gonna happen actually about to happen? Was this some sort of fever dream?'.
All of which were quickly forgotten when you arrived at Lottie's, Nat's hands quickly moving to your jumper, slipping them under it and pulling it over your head, discarding it on the floor, while Van came around your back and started kissing along your neck slowly, and the rest of the group were ridding themselves of their shoes and clothes.

I had the opportunity to try Gillian's g-spot drinks while I was in England and so I did.

Now, I'm no expert, but for the most part, those other ingredients are used in very small doses. The brand says that they "lie somewhere between a purist health drink that claims to change your life, and a mainstream soda brand that wants you hooked." That is one hell of a claim. Personally, I'm not sure how mainstream a beverage that costs £3,50 per can (0,33 l) can be.
The first one I tried was "Soothe". It's supposed to "calm your mind", according to the can, and has magnesium, maca, reishi, and ashwagandha as its ingredients. I had no idea what to expect and I can say in all honesty, I did not like the taste at all. My friend said it tastes like drinking medicine. To me, it tastes like sparkling cough syrup. It's because of the sage but also the slightly woody and bitter taste of the reishi.
Now let's move on to my taste test:

My next one was "Protect". That one uses ginger, turmeric, chaga and peppercorn, which I must admit sounded interesting to me. Well. What can I say? It tasted way better than "Soothe", but you must absolutely like the taste of ginger. My friend doesn't and said this one tastes even more like medicine.
The aftertaste was the worst. It would just not go away. I don't know if sage as a cure for anything related to colds and coughs is a German thing and that's we reacted so strongly to it. Anyway, I liked this one so little that I didn't dare to try the next one for another two days.

I saved the best for last: "Lift". From the few things I've read online, most people seemed to prefer this one. The ingredients here include bacopa, theanine, cordyceps, and lion's mane in addition to berries and peppercorn. I really liked this one because it's actually refreshing.
The aftertaste is not as insistent and quite nice with the gentle spiciness of the peppercorn and the turmeric. As I kept drinking it, I understood what my friend meant by saying it tastes like medicine though. Drinking the whole can was a struggle because the ingredients just get too much at some point.

Like "Protect", it's a bit spicy, but it works way better here with the berries. Though I must admit that I couldn't really taste the berries as well as I would have liked. As much as I liked this one, it's not something I would want to drink daily. Like the other flavors, this one, too, has several ingredients that taste bitter and/or earthy, like bacopa and lion's mane. It's just not my thing. My friend agreed that this was the best one, but she was like, one sip of this is enough.
Conclusion:
Oooof. I speculated with a friend (not the one who did the tasting with me!) what these would taste like and we originally thought it would taste like sparkling apple juice with some flavor. I don't know if it's a thing anywhere else, but Apfelschorle (sparkling apple juice) is a huge deal here and really, really tasty.
I didn't expect the bitterness and earthiness to be so prominent in the taste, to be honest. All in all, I expected more from these drinks- Especially at that price. None of these were so good that I was like, I want more. Maybe they are good for my health - though that's quite a claim - but so is water. And maybe the sparkling, flavored water you can buy at Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's isn't as healthy (but it might be?), but it tastes much better. It's way cheaper, too.
All that aside, I'm still not sure what to think of the whole brand and the idea behind it. One thing, in particular, I'm missing is information about how the ingredients are sourced. Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, Reishi, etc. aren't exactly ingredients you can get everywhere.

porridge for champions (only)
you gotta prepare some of this the night before, so that the phytase enzyme in the buckwheat can get to work on the phytic acid in the oats to release the minerals and make them bioavailable and generally make all of this easier to digest and stuff.
combine the following in a jar or saucepan and mix it up:
oat flakes, however much you want to eat idk. you can play with the oats-to-water ratio to make more of a dry/fluffy or a wet/smooth porridge. the range is around 40-110 grams for one portion, depending on what you're going for. a tablespoon of oats is about 10g
½-2 tbsp of buckwheat -- i use raw crushed groats. less processed = richer in enzymes. crushed is a good balance between cooking time and enzyme content, i think
1-2 tbsp sunflower seeds, chia seeds or pumpkin seeds for extra nutrients, variety, texture :) (optional)
pinch of salt
water - soak em. enough to cover the oats etc + a lil extra bc they soak it up and expand. NB if you want dry/fluffy porridge then err on the side of less water, ie just enough to cover the stuff.
cover with a lid and leave at room temperature overnight.
cooking: add some fat. i love using fatty coconut milk or just coconut oil, or goats milk butter or even some kind of animal fat. i turn the heat to medium-high at first to get it all hot while mixing it, and then i leave it on low for a while. takes like 30 minutes or so
completely optional, i usually add some of these b4 i start cooking:
plain protein powder (im a fan of hemp protein personally)
maca and/or ashwagandha
matcha powder - ive really been liking this lately
collagen supplement (if u have an autoimmune condition pls look into healing gut permeability btw. even if u dont have digestive problems. ily)
carob powder my beloved. or cocoa powder. or both
or if u like savory porridge: curry powder, smoked paprika, leek, herbs, pepper
egg
& some possible toppings:
any kinda nutt butter u like <33
stick some chocolate in there and watch it melt
jam. classic
honey and cinnamon
coconut sugar syrup
berries, frozen or fresh

Tried an ashwagandha gummy.
I can't believe the reviews said these tasted GOOD. Blech. Plus they're the bad gummy texture. But anyway.
I feel foggy. But my brain feels a little quieter. I only took one. Package says take 4 a day. I'm not sure I'll be able to handle that. Just taking one is trying to flip my anxiety.
My heart rate was down to 63 when I was laying in bed. It's NEVER that low. I'm on a beta blocker for a high heart rate, lol. So that was freaking me out. My nurse bestie reassured me I'm not gonna die. But it's like...my body is physically not struggling as much which makes my brain freak out to try to make it struggle again because we should be constantly in struggle mode, does that make sense? It does to me but I may not be explaining it very well, coz, fog.
Anyway. I'm not sleepy now. I was before I took the gummy. Got hungry. Made a chocolate chip cookie in a mug. Now idk what to do. I'm not used to being awake past 9pm.

Sleep supplements that have actually worked really well for me
Before I start, the supplements I’m referring to are:
- Magnesium L-Threonate - Brand: Life Extension

- Apigenin - Brand: Liposomal
I’m sure there are other brands out there which are preferred, these are the ones that were accessible to me based on where I live.

I just wanted to take some time to drop my personal experience/success here in case it can help anyone else who is struggling with sleep.
My whole life has been a struggle with sleep and insomnia. Both before and after I started adhd medication (concerta 54mg). I’ve been diagnosed with adhd about a year ago.
- It would take me at least 2 hours to fall asleep.
- I would wake up multiple times during the night.
- Had very vivid dreams, to the point I had to ask people if something happened in real life or if it was a dream. Mostly anxiety inducing dreams.
- I would be wide awake until sunrise.
My partner has helped me get into an evening routine since we met, which I really appreciated. But still, most of the nights I would experience insomnia, evening anxiety and mind-racing, bad dreams or interrupted sleep.
After listening to Andrew Huberman’s sleep podcast, we both tried to implement some of his tips into our night routine. But I still had sleep issues no matter what routine I tried. I.e restrict phone use prior to bed, dim all the lights to kickstart melatonin production etc.
He then decided to get me these 3 supplements that Huberman recommends for sleep because my overall mental health, sleep and anxiety levels were not great. We had both discussed it and thought it would be nice if I tried a different approach to see what happens.
I had mentioned my sleep struggles and evening anxiety to my psychiatrist multiple times, but his response would be that it’s normal because of adhd, as well as stimulant medication.
Since I started taking the supplements just under 2 months ago, they have honestly been working so well for me. I have considered that it may be placebo, but the outcome has been too good that it’s hard for me to ignore.
I don’t even know when I fall asleep anymore. I’m literally gone shortly after I get into bed — but I don’t feel drowsy prior to that. I have such deep sleep that I now wake up feeling fresh. I used to be a light sleeper, where I would wake up with any sound or movement in the room.
I even feel like it’s improved my brain fog a lot more than just concerta on its own (just a personal observation).
My constant vivid nightmares/dreams have gone away, I honestly can’t recall the last time I woke up to a bad dream. I don’t remember my dreams anymore, but I can’t tell you if i’m just not dreaming or if they’re just not as intense anymore…
No interrupted sleep since starting the supplements.
I have tried melatonin and over the counter sleep-aid, but I never really liked the side effects the morning after. Also melatonin never really helped my sleep quality.
I just wanted to mention it here in case it helps anyone else as well, because I’ve honestly been feeling soooo good and keep thanking my partner for getting me the supplements. I know I would’ve never done it myself out of procrastination.
However, these are just based on my personal experience and I’m not at all saying that everyone else will have the same experiences. I just want to give my review of some sorts, as someone who has adhd and has struggled with sleep, in case anyone has been curious about these or is looking to try something different, specifically for sleep.
I would recommend checking out Huberman’s podcasts on sleep, and adhd as well :)
I just wanted to add that I remember him mentioning that Apigenin could cause vivid dreams for some, but I personally haven’t experienced that until now.
Just make sure to drink enough water since they’re water soluble.
Other supplements that I take (in the morning) that may have some effect on this too:
- ashwagandha (short-term) - Brand: Jarrow Formulas —please do look into it and consult with a profession before trying this, since it can interact with underlying health conditions and medication. Recommended by all sources I have looked at to take it short term. I don’t take it for adhd purposes, I just decided to try it out because of stress and mood. There isn’t enough research to prove its benefits though, just a heads up.
- Algae Omega-3 - Brand: Garden of Life
- B-Complex - Brand: Nature’s Bounty
My day supplements are on and off as I forget to take them for a few days every now and then.
But I’ve tried to stay consistent with the sleep supplements in the last month and a half.
