brazilian anon again. she postponed one of her shows, which was the right thing to do and she should’ve done that in the morning instead of doing it after people where already inside after waiting outside for god knows how many hours. (disclaimer: when i say she, i mean taylor + her team + t4f). anyways. fans are disappointed and rightfully so, not only because she postponed it, but because of the entire situation and the delayed announcement.

however. when reading about the situation here on tumblr… it’s disgusting the amount of racism and xenophobia gringos are spouting. i saw someone saying taylor should leave brazil for her safety because brazilian swifties don’t deserve her and because brazil is a dangerous country. like man… it’s exhausting and it makes me wanna cry lol

i could spend a lot of time explaining brazil, so stupid swifties outside of latin america could understand what it’s like to live here (i prefer living here, with public free education and healthcare, with a government that cares for its people, as we all know, politicians made sure water is a right in the concerts now), but i think i would be wasting my time.

they talk about death threats and leaking the hotel address, but afaik the hotel was common knowledge and the “death threats” i saw were just exaggerated reactions from fans — that have been waiting 11 years for a taylor swift concert, which was very expensive.

anyways. i wish racism wasn’t so common among swifties, but it might be asking too much. sorry for the rant, it’s just been some crazy days here.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this anon. You’re right, they should have postponed the show previous night when things became so bad. Everybody knew the heat was gonna increase yesterday, so putting on a show in that atmosphere was not safe at all. But they still didn’t announce it beforehand and people were standing in the queue for five/six hours in that scorching heat to get inside. And just one hour before the show starts, when almost everyone has managed to get inside, miss queen announces from her air conditioned dressing room that the show is postponed, wow imagine the privilege? Another fan named gabriel died because of armed robbery when the show was cancelled. I wonder how many fans are sick after the show because there is no track of that. What was her team even doing? And who even gave her the idea that touring in brazil in November was a good decision given it's the hottest period of time there?

Plus the amount of racism I've seen given this situation is sick, they are treating brazilian people as animals and demanding taylor not to ever step her foot there again. Like those americans are the same fans who ruined jack antonoff's wedding, made her cornelia street apartment a tourist spot, stand outside her frontyard with cameras the whole time. Not to mention how stalkers there literally get into her house every now and then. They should be the last ones to call brazilian swifties invasive, who are literally seeing her for the first time in life. The hotel leak isn’t something new either. Even when Taylor went to panama or dublin with Joe, her hotel/ rented apartment addresses were known. There were literally articles about where she was staying. So putting a negative impression on this now that it's happening in brazil is extremely racist and xenophobic of them. hi anon! i would be so happy to write these! i will probably write multiple little segments for these and here is the first little batch :)

decorating a tree

jigen was asking you if he could put up a tree since the day after halloween. you held him off as long as you could (about a week) before he cooped you two up in the fiat and drove to a farm.

you insisted on helping him but the cold was already strong enough to nip at any uncovered skin this season. every few minutes, jigen’s worried eyes would take you in and he repeated that you could wait in the car if you needed.

you wanted to help, and after a few cold hours, you had a tree tied to the top of the fiat.

once it was up in your little apartment, you cuddled up on the couch as you watched jigen prepare all the decorations.

you didn’t know where they came from — if he just had acquired them or if he had them for years — but the feet of vintage tinsel and frosty glass ornaments amazed you.

jigen noticed and explained the origin and significance of each trinket to you, gently pulling you into his lap by the fire.

you two alternated between decorating and cuddly story time, probably taking a few more hours than expected to finish the tree, but none of you minded.

jigen could reach the top to put the star on easily, but instead of making it sit pretty, he passed it gently into your hands.

he held your waist and lifted you straight up with ease, like how the cavalier would lift his sugar plum princess. you couldn’t help but giggle at you placed the star on top and gifted jigen with sweet kisses on the way back down.

christmas market

lupin was generous enough to give everyone the holiday off, meaning you had jigen all to yourself this holiday season.

jigen was obsessed with making this special, so instead of spending december in a typical location, like any hometown, he rented an apartment in Scandinavia to whisk you away to.

after a few days of exploring the town and experiencing about the environment you were in, you learned of a christmas market that was open every day before christmas

naturally, you and jigen bundled up and attended, trying to mix in with the locals as much as you could.

at the market, everyone was welcoming and warm — offering hugs and warm mugs of mulled wine everywhere you turned.

jigen always kept one hand firm on your hip or the small of your back, just to let everyone know what was his, as if it wasn’t obvious already.

his eyes were glazed over with all the love in his body whenever he saw you, snow sticking to your hair and eyelashes and christmas lights shining off your skin.

christmas parade

the year lupin and jigen spent christmas fishing in panama, jigen invited you to come along.

he was too timid to ask you out but asking you to come along on their vacation was no issue for him.

after sun bathing and watching the boys fish all day, lupin thought it would be fun to take in a local christmas parade.

pretty soon after you all arrived, however, lupin vanished. mysteriously and mischievously.

you wandered the streets with jigen, pretty aware of lupin’s little power play and not as worried about the gentleman thief. he left to go chase his own tail in hopes that jigen would get a little on his own.

that was a crude way to put it, but it was hard for lupin to be subtle.

as the sidewalks and roads filled with more hustle and bustle, jigen gingerly slipped his hand into yours, just to keep you close to him.

you looked up at him as you felt his fingers snake down your palm. his cheeks were red and he looked straight ahead, his lips pressed into a line.

with a little giggle, you stood up on your tip toes and kissed his cheek softly.

“thank you.”

jigen looked down at you, his expression lighter now, and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “you’re welcome.”

it was like you were talking to a new man — confident, flirty and so unserious now that the ice was broken between you two.

he pulled you through the crowd to make it to the front row to watch the parade go by. lupin had swindled his way onto a float, and he cheered when he saw you and jigen hand in hand on the sidewalk.

Thank you, anon! And ooh, absolutely. I want to outline a timeline on how Piri meets every Latin American country but this requires more research 😭 I promise to return to this ask once I gather more information, anon! I do headcanon that they all met during the colonial era, but they had better opportunities to get to know each other better once they were independent—especially with Piri being so far away.

Apart from the shared history, economics plays a role. I headcanon Piri as a seafarer since he has that sailor outfit already, and tons of seafarers are Filipinos, which means Piri has spent time in Panama, or in any ports in Latin America. And since learning a language is Piri's love language (pun intended 😭), Piri would improve his Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch, and perhaps Guarani too.

Piri could be invited to their parties, and vice versa. The karaoke, dancing, boxing, beauty pageants, and food are *chefs kiss*. I could also imagine Mexico being so bewildered with Piri and Brazil using avocado as a dessert (to be fair, other SEAsians do this too).

18. A memorable meal this year?

hmmmmm. ok homemade wise i hosted a like easter/spring brunch for people who didn’t go home from college that weekend and we made so much food. i made like 9 loaves of rosemary bread. i love cooking w friends so it was really fun to share my kitchen w like four of my friends as we cooked for like . 20 of our other friends. pictured: half of the food we made and our dying plants lol

22. Favorite place you visited this year?

i didn’t really go many places this year between finishing undergrad and being unemployed. panama city beach was fun (i went w 37 people from my college team on spring break. 20hr drive down, 20hr drive back. and my car went to nyc beforehand for a track meet too lol). here’s me on the beach!!

oh wait i also went to canada w my friends after graduation i totally forgot abt that. i still think PCB wins for sheer degeneracy (walked two miles to and from waffle house at 4am for example) and good vibes, since the canada trip we had to stay inside half the week for wildfire reasons

I wrote the whole defending as you call it, because you and your anons were like oh he kept changing plans all the time as if we have more info than we actually have to say this, oh they were in different locations all the time as if again that was a recorrent thing (wasn't the Panama thing literally the most they spent apart in years?), oh he kept changing his mind and that ruined plans. Which again apart from the Panama thing, where did that happen that we know off?

well Panama and then The Brutalist shoot fell at the start of Eras (which he hadn’t planned that way but that IS what happened?) and like two years in a row he worked on her birthday which again yes adults shouldn’t care that much and we all have jobs and fwiw Taylor’s worked on her birthdays before but I do think it started to feel to her like a pattern of him prioritizing himself (which he’s entitled to do) over the relationship (and yes it’s an unfair ask because she never had to give up career Ws for him BUT I think that’s also where she started to feel resentful of the privacy they’d agreed to because like idk she wanted to be ADORED by EVERYONE including him obviously but everyone else too and he wasn’t adoring her enough clearly and he also didn’t want to saunter about for fan/media adoration).

The good thing is they broke up and it’s much better now for both of them!!
