Today is Sunday. I've given myself some easier tasks since I got a lot done yesterday!

Feeling pretty proud at getting all the chores that had been waiting finished and getting more stuff organized.

Even though we moved in back in March, it's been a bit of a struggle to settle in and feel like this is our home after moving around so much and so much uncertainty in our lives.

But I'm finally feeling like this might be a place to be calm and rest for a while at.

design comments:

Sanji: I wanted him to mainly be in the legs, while the shoulders and arms were closer together. Compact up top, Watermelon Crushers on the bottom. i vaguely designed him with the Marathon runner from the reference image in mind. I differ from the reference in that i give him upper body muscles cuz he loves his break dancing moves and you need hella muscles for that.

Zoro: Big tits & Tank Body. Cant knock this cat over.

Sabo: This man in my eyes is a Barbie Doll. Long Legs Tiny Torso. Winx Club Sailor Moon lookin mf. In part inspired by this panel of him:

Nami: My headcanon for Nami is that when we first meet her she is very skinny and malnourished, then overtime living with the strawhats she gains weight and progressively gets chubby. I just think that Sanji always cooking her such nutritious meals and tasty sweets, and not needing to fight for herself all the time, would lead to her lovely new body type. Something, something, 'to be loved is to be changed'.

Plus, her new fighting styles isnt like "im wacking you with this stick" anymore, its more "I'm moving this stick in this direction and striking you with the lighting coming from it". That still needs muscles though so i gave her some good muscles up top :3

Artist note: i spent way to long lovingly drawing her boobs.

Ace: He's the dorito man of the universe. Broad shoulders, itty bitty waist. I modeled him after the basketball player in the reference image Alton Huston. i think that he would focus his athleticism in Jumping and Throwing (literally) punches, so it leads me to think he would build the same muscles a basketball player would.

man is 60% legs. freak. anyway,

I just like the idea of a perfect body that has been twisted by its scars.

Luffy: Brick Shithouse. Healthy mix between muscle and fat. i just wanted to make him look Really Healthy.

The majority of this design is just giving these characters body fat. i dont like the way gangly abs and tits look i love a chub. PWEEESEEE ODA GIVE ME A CHUBBY WOMAN CHARACTER PWEEEEEEEEEESE IM BEGGING YOU PWEESE PWEEESESESESESESESESSSESESES

i had a lot of fun drawing these, i love love love drawing anatomy and this was a good learning experience on top of that. One of the ways i drag myself out of art block is i just do art studies so this is kinda that.

Sketchbook traditional doodles of Sabo! This is my first study sheet of him, I LOVE the round eyes and his wavy hair. Honestly, I prefer drawing this style of eyes rather than the sharp eyes. He's one of my most favorite characters, I'm so happy that he exists in the world of One Piece.

Been slowly learning ASL over the years for my niece and I might still struggle to introduce myself or express basic emotions, but oh boy do I ever have the sign for every animal she's ever laid eyes on memorized better than my own name.

I was gonna draw hugs for a/l and a/s, but i didnt find any references i felt fit the vibe. Perhaps another time.

Kinda wish the ASL-trio met the Swallow Island gang (especially in their youth). Sure, their dynamics are more like mirroring the opposite side of a coin, but the elders are gushing just as much about their younger counter parts. The more I think about this, the more inert parallels spring to my mind. Getting beat up at their first encounter, follow them regardless after and forging a strong bond instead, trying to protect each other but end up failing... Bepo, Shachi and Penguin share that with Luffy. With Sabo and Ace it's the undying admiration and trust they share, Luffy and Law being the thing that knits them together. And while Luffy may be the one that healed their hearts, it's the Heart trio that mainly holds Law together at his seams. Maybe Shachi and Penguin could've been the soft-hearted, goofy older brother figures for Ace and Sabo? They never got the chance to feel like their age. Law got to have that for a hot minute, and while I'm sure he misses these times, he seems rather content with how things panned out in the end. Still, he was such a feral child, just like Sabo and Ace... If they'd meet as adults, the elders would so share their picture collections, gushing uncontrollably, while Luffy manages to get a raise out of Law and Bepo not knowing if he's elated about that or if he should apologize for the havoc that will ensue - - - Man, I can't help myself but wonder about this.

Anybody got recommendations for learning American Sign Language? I can hear, and have experience learning English (as a baby), Spanish (classes), Korean (classes), and Japanese (online resources). I'm not starting ASL right now I just wanna have a collection of resources and tips ready for when I do!

Plus, maybe others can use this post for that too ;)

I thought Ace was Brazillian too but no turns out he's from Portugal (the only reason I'm thinking of studying in Portugal LMFAO)
