What being trans means to me
I love being trans. I love transitioning. The thing is, most of the time, I read about other trans people experiences. And I just can’t relate.
I have plenty of tattoos and piercings, and if I have to be 100% honest with y’all, I see transitioning like a bodmod. To me, getting top surgery was one, as I wanted to at least get my nipples removed before I even knew top surgery was an option.
I see HRT as much as a bodmod. A few years back, I wasn’t so sure I even wanted HRT, but after thinking it through and doing a lot of research, I decided to do it. And I never looked back. I’m close to 2 years on T, which isn’t a lot, and I don’t even know if I plan to stay on T for very long, maybe I’ll stop at some point. Who knows.
It goes hand in hand with the everlasting identity crisis I’ve been having since I was born, basically. I was a different person before, and she was so tired, so she left the body to some dude, and he got tired, and they fused, and it was me, and I’m in a trans body, I’m trans, I take T like I paint my nails, I take T like a cigarette, I take T like a hot bath. It’s comforting, it makes me feel good, it makes me feel at home in this body.
I got surgery because I wanted my silhouette to be mine. I changed my name because since I was little, and that’s the only point for which I can say confidently I knew since I was a kid, I never understood why we couldn’t name ourselves. To me, a name was so intimate, so personal, that I couldn’t understand why it had to be someone else’s choice. So I took a new one and changed it.
And now I look at myself in the miror and I’m Cyan, and I got a flat chest, and I have a deep voice, and I’ll do my T shot on friday just like I do every 14 days since almost 2 years, with the same pleasure, with the same smile on my face, the same rush I ever have when I’m excited for my shot.
Close to the feeling I get when I get a new piercing, when I up the size of my lobes, when I feel the first tingles of the needles that tattoo me.
I didn’t “always knew” I was trans. I remember being a kid with a shit ton of OCs, and names for myself that I couldn’t choose, and whose dream was to live a thousand lives before I died. I don’t know who I will be in 3 years. Or in 6 months.
It says on a letter that I suffer from gender dysphoria, and by all means it was true before top surgery. Not so much now. I still am insecure about my body a lot of times because there’s some things missing to my chara design and I am fatter IRL lmao, but with this body I cum, I eat good food, I get drunk, I smoke, I feel hot and fresh water, I swim, I sing, I write this. Even when it’s half broken and it’s raining and my joints ache and I feel like I’m already old, I love this body. I’m not the type of people who will be like “your body is a temple, you HAVE to exercise and eat only fresh veggies” because if I have to be here let me at least have fun. I take care of myself though, maybe not as much as I should, but the best I can.
If I hadn’t overcome everything I did in my life, maybe I wouldn’t have transitioned. Or maybe I would. I don’t care. I don’t need a reason, and neither do you.
This is what I mean when I say that everyone should do whatever the fuck they want because, I wasn’t born trans, or at least I don’t think so. But does it make my transition less valid ? No. I’m better in my skin that ever, even when the low self esteem hits, and I know I would feel way less good if I hadn’t transition. That’s all that matters.

Meet Morrigan Clearcove, NRC's Prodigious Alumni
Morrigan is- or well, was- a teacher at Atlantica's School for Young Mages, a place specifically focused on teaching and nurturing children who show promise in magic. He's in his early 50s (technically, he would be in his late 60s...) and an alumni of NRC well-known for his intelligence impressive magical prowess. He was very popular and well-liked in Atlantica despite past *ahem* incidents... until he married Silas, that is.
Some Basic Info:
☆Name: Morrigan Clearcove
☆Homeland: The Coral Sea
☆Species: Cookie cutter shark mer (coastal)
☆Birthday: 12 October
☆Height/length: 158cm
☆Dominant hand: Right
☆Hobbies: Songwriting, singing, dancing, learning new spells
☆Likes: Spending time with Silas, learning new things, food, teaching, his students, being the best
☆Dislikes: Losing, being ignored, his parents, strict rules
☆Favourite food: Tuna seaweed wraps
☆Least favourite food: Mussels
Personality:
Morrigan is a fella with a short temper (that he has worked on a lot, thank you) and fiery spirit. He's very charming and polite most of the time, of course, though that quickly falls away when he gets pissed off and becomes passive-aggressive and snarky. He's come very far since his youth, where he'd explode into anger and violence very easily.
He's immensely passionate about what and who he loves and always speaks his mind. He's incredibly intelligent and adept at magic with a love for puzzle solving and learning new things.Morrigan is also someone who is very playful and smug and likes to mess around with people for laughs.
He's a jokester (he was meant to be a dad all along, it seems) and a prankster at heart even if he has toned it down. He's resistant to strict rules and gets irritated easily when his actions are restricted and when he's told what to do.
Morrigan is very competitive and has an almost obsessive desire to win at everything and prove himself as the best. He has internalised the idea that what he can do and how well he can do it (ESPECIALLY magic) is tied to his worth since he was a child. He's been trying not to think like that so much... Silas kicking his ass both in fights and in hunting competitions seems to be helping that along
Appearance:
Morrigan has long, curlydark green hair, lighter green skin, and dark green scales and fins. He has lots of freckles and a hooked nose. His eyes are aquamarine, and he has razor-sharp teeth that don't entirely fit in his mouth and razor-sharp claws. His tail and fins look just like those of a cookie cutter shark.
Morrigan has a number of scars on his neck, tail, and sides. There aren't many, and most are in the form of clawmarks and bite marks most of them came from Silas 💀
Morrigan also has a band of black scales around his neck, and from just below that all the way to his navel are photophores that glow in the dark, which helps him camouflage and can even make him look like a school of fish from below.
Morrigan doesn't wear clothes, of course, but he does wear Silas' courting gift to him, a necklace of orca teeth and a volute shell, almost always.
Important Things to Know:
☆Morrigan's magic is incredibly powerful, and he's been regarded as a "magical prodigy" for as long as he can remember
☆It was because of his experiences being a "gifted" prodigy child that he had taken the job he had. He wanted to at least do what he could to help and support those far too young kids burdened with so many expectations just like he was
☆Morrigan attended NRC and was in Savanaclaw
☆Morrigan was almost expelled from NRC but his sheer magical ability and remarkable grades (save a... certain time in his school career) that saved his hide
☆Morrigan is dead. Very dead. He was murdered and has been dead for 17 years
☆Morrigan has an incredible singing voice and is very musically talented
☆Morrigan is very talented in general. He is regarded as a "jack of all trades" who can master many skills quickly
☆Morrigan is very much neaurodivergent, idk what it is yet, though
Family:
Morrigan has a husband, Silas Clearcove, and they both unofficially adopted Timo Byun, a young teen who works for Silas. They're not related by blood, but Ezra and Alastair are like family to Morrigan and he even made them the godfathers of his children
Morrigan has a mother and father and several siblings, and he has a very negative relationship with all of them. He does, however, adore his nieces and nephews and does his best to be the fun uncle for them (especially since their parents are so horribly boring)
Morrigan also has six children on the way! He and Silas haven't named them yet but Morrigan is so excited to meet them all and lavish them with so much love :)
Backstory:
Okie this is gonna be a long one
Morrigan was born into a very wealthy family as the oldest of eight children. From a young age, he showed signs of magic, and very soon after that became clear that it was much more powerful than that of his siblings and the schoolmates who had magic as well.
His parents jumped on the opportunity that having a powerful, successful mage in the family would provide them. It would boost their status in the eyes of the public and especially the other families in the upper class, as the Clearcoves are "othered" by the rest for being more "monstrous" merfolk.
It was made clear to Morrigan that he was a special and gifted child, a prodigy who would surely make his family proud. He was given a similar treatment to Riddle. His schedule was very strict, and most if not all of his actions were controlled by his parents, and most of his time was spent in magical training.
The pressure to be the best and to not be a disappointment was overwhelming, and the constant control of almost everything he did simply made it worse.
Morrigan developed a short temper and quick emotional reactions to almost everything. Criticism, even constructive criticism, was perceived as an insult to his intelligence and skill (mainly because of his parents) and made him angry, and to let that anger out, he would get into violent fights and break as many rules as possible.
This behaviour continued into NRC and only became so much worse when Morrigan realised that he no longer had his parents breathing down his neck and controlling him. In a desperate attempt to gain any scrap of a feeling of control and freedom he could before it was inevitably ripped away once he left NRC, he went off the rails.
He got into many violent fights with his dorm mates and even other students, frequently pestered and bullied other students, ignored curfew, attended many wild parties, and by the time of his third year certain actions were bordering on illegal and also resulted in his fake ID being on the wall of shame in the town's local bar. He nearly got into trying certain *other* unsavoury substances, too (you can guess what they were)
His actions had essentially gone from really bad to self-destructive and his close friends Ezra and Alastair, who he'd dragged into many of his shenangians as they had similar issues to him, held a sort of intervention. It cause the friendship to break apart temporarily since Morrigan just got mad at them and wouldn't listen (he didn't hurt them, though, dw) and told them to fuck off.
They did, and it was the mix of missing them, the loneliness he felt from their absence, and fucking up real bad somewhere else that had him come around.
Morrigan eventually decided that yeah, he was going to do what he wanted with his own life when he graduated, no matter how furious it made his parents. He wasn't perfect... but he started getting noticeably better during the remainder of his time at NRC.
The rest is much simpler. He graduated, became a teacher, met Silas, became friends with him, and eventually fell in love with him, married him, they both moved to Atlantica together, had children, and... well. He was murdered. :(
Some Fun Facts/Extra Info:
☆Morrigan, Ezra, and Alastair took part of the VDC and won
☆Morrigan was an incredibly skilled magishift player and led Savanaclaw to many victories (his portrait can be found in Savanaclaw dorm :P)
☆Morrigan is an adrenaline junkie
☆Although marrying Silas led to him being either pitied or ostracised, Morrigan didn't care and was just happy Silas loved him just as much as he loved Silas
☆Morrigan recorded himself singing and talking for Silas to play for Finn and co before they were born so they would become familiar with his voice even when he was busy with work
☆Silas taught Morrigan to hunt and hunting together and fighting each other became a pastime and a way of showing their love in their own weird way
...........................................
A/N: He's got more of a personality now yippee! I hope you like my boi that I killed off

PERSONALITY
A friendly young lady who's quick to meet new people anywhere she goes. She likes to make new relationships and be amongst crowds, especially when the attention is on her. She wouldn't call herself an attention seeker - she just doesn't like to be ignored, and really, isn't it just natural that everybody's eyes should be on her? Since coming to NRC, she delights every benefit that being labelled as "everybody's little sister" gets her.
Sweet as sugar, always tries to act like a well-behaved and well-mannered, polite lady and expects everyone to uphold the same level of manners. "Tries to act" being the key phrase here; Józefina is impulsive and often acts before a thought can even start forming in her head, resulting in her getting into all sorts of situations a perfect little lady like her definitely shouldn't be. It definitely doesn't help that she's brave to the point of recklessness and infinitely curious - nothing will stop her from discovering the many mysteries of Twisted Wonderland! She just cannot help, but like the thrill of adventure and troublemaking.
Very proud and a bit prissy, easily takes offence, especially if she doesn't know somebody well - it's a deffence mechanism of sorts, as she often expects everyone to do or say the worst thing, and it's hard for her to believe that people could actually take her seriously. She tends to mellow out considerably once she gets closer to somebody and sees that they don't underestimate her or actually have good intentions. However, gaining her trust is not the easiest thing.
Openly showing her emotions, to the point of being theatrical at times... the good ones, at least. The bad ones? Well, that depends on if it benefits her. Thrust into a world she doesn't understand, she's willing to do a lot to ensure her survival, and if it involves overexaggerating her tears to gain other people's sympathy or telling a lie or two? Well, who could blame her? At least, she tends to feel somewhat guilty about it... most of the time.
BACKSTORY
Arrived to Twisted Wonderland during the Spelldrive tournament in book 2, specifically during the "game" that the Hearshackle gang was playing; she accidentally knocked Lysander out by landing on him. The Headmage has allowed her to stay, mostly because Lysander had promised to take the responsibility for her.
Similarly to Lysander, she doesn't have any memories from her previous world. Memories come back to her in flashes, often triggered by physical sensations, though so far, she had managed to remember even less than her dormmate. She's not particularly bothered by it, though, taking her new surroundings in stride.
TRIVIA
it seems that, unlike Lysander, she didn't came from the modern world - she doesn't seem to know much about modern technology. despite that, she's eager to learn and often asks the others about it
she didn't actually know how to ride horses when she had first joined the Equestrian Club - she just liked helping to take care of her, because it calmed her down
knows how to play a few instruments but is the best with a violin
she always dreamed of becoming a famous singer
unlike Lysander, she's a disaster in the kitchen
she's afraid of heights (which posed a bit of a problem when she tried to learn horse riding)
she cares a lot for her hair and usually doesn't let other people touch it, unless she's close with them and trusts them
she also really loves to put bows in her hair
she actually prefers to be called by her full name, because "Józia" is very cutesy and kinda childlish, but most people can't pronounce it correctly so she just kinda gave up (not that they can pronounce Józia correctly either...)
Azul tried to get her to sing at the Mostro Lounge a few times, but she always refuses untill he "pays her what she's worth" (whatever that means remains to be determined)

New original character just dropped, fellas.
Her name is Cecilia Ascari, and her story is... pretty specific to my 2003 universe? Basically put, at some point after Turtles Forever, Karai starts to behave oddly and seems to have new goals, ones that she is deliberately keeping Chaplin in the dark about. Chaplin ends up stealing a whole bunch of heavily encrypted data he discovered hidden within the Foot's mainframe and Cecilia here, who was originally a low-ranked genin, agrees to serve as the scapegoat so he can continue monitoring things from within the Foot. She delivers the data to the Turtles and ultimately ends up fighting alongside them against enemies old and new.
Cecilia can be easily described as a wallflower--very shy, quiet, and tends to be awkward around strangers. However, she was one of the most ferocious Foot Ninja among those in her rank and her face is said to look like a demon in battle, scaring both friend and foe alike. Concerning, however, is her view of her life; she sees herself as little more than a weapon to be pointed at whoever her master wishes to and that her life is completely and utterly expendable, often resulting reckless actions in combat. Not only that, but she has spent so much of her life focused on training with her naginata that, outside a hobby of making jewelry and accessories, she has little that she enjoys and is clearly depressed because of it. Thankfully, though, her time spent with the turtles results in her placing more value in herself as a person and finding things that she genuinely enjoys, giving her a new will to live and a resulting in a gentler, quietly cheerful personality taking root.
Other bits of trivia
Named for Eliza Cecilia Beaux.
Birthday is July 29th (she's around the same age as the turtles.)
Short for her age, only standing at 5'1" (Unlike my other OC, Iseult, this is a sore spot for her.)
Of Italian descent.
Favorite color is green
Favorite foods include pastries, Japanese sweets, and hot chocolate
Besides jewelry-making, she later picks up pottery, soap making, and writing as hobbies.
Preferred music genres are New Age, Jass, and Lo-Fi
Closest bond among the turtles is with Leonardo, who she spars with regularly and tends to confide in. Michelangelo, who helped her discover some of her hobbies, is a close second. She also gets along well with Venus and Primavera as well, with her least developed relationships being those with Raphael and Donatello.
Not sure if this counts as a spoiler since she is an OC, but she does end up becoming a turtle later on. Won't explain the how, why, or circumstances surrounding it.

Theron.
Was he like a Maxtac capture? Or was he promoted thru NCPD? Or what’s up? Maxtac doesn’t get the love it deserves and I wanna change that in this post.
Oh, man, okay. So he's kinda both? There's a good reason he goes to therapy and has to take a fistful of meds daily.
Theron started out as a typical NCPD officer. A bit egotistical, god complex, was out to be the heavy hand of justice and all that. He was really just a kid at the time though, joined at 20 after going through training, and was on track to be the deputy of his jurisdiction.
However, newly married at 32 with the rank of lieutenant, things severely went to shit.
Theron had an officer training under him, and they responded to a routine report of a disturbance. That disturbance was a sizable group of maelstromers; 45 minutes and several empty clips later, both lieutenant Blake and Officer Macklin were hostages.
As Maelstrom is wont to do, they took the opportunity to try out some new cyberware on their fresh faced playthings. Theron himself didn't have much to start with - jaw plating and some eye cyberware. Macklin had even less, young and still getting on her feet, and in Maelstrom's eyes, that was far too little.
Macklin didn't survive the changes.
Theron was on the "operating table", body on the edge of rejecting his new arms, when she finally couldn't take any more and passed. That was the flipping point, watching her go limp without so much as a passing thought from their captors about saving her. He snapped.
Theron doesn't recall the details, but the team who arrived to extract him says it was a bloodbath. The combination of cyberware rejection, stress, and watching his officer die, he practically flew into cyberpsychosis without a thought of fighting it. His own personality did nothing to ease the effects.
He was lucky it was his own officers attempting to save him. They convinced the MaxTac team that arrived to take him alive, and they were able to sedate and restrain him.
Theron spent a month in the hospital, and an additional year in isolated rehab. He was fitted with new cyberarms, put on anti-rejection medication, and several other pills to help with mental stability. He has a tracker and biomonitor as well now, and has to report to a government agent regularly, as well as attend therapy sessions.
But in exchange, he was put into MaxTac. Given an outlet for the anger that was always bubbling under the surface, an opportunity to keep what happened to him from happening to others. He remembers how he was saved, compared to so many others who are put down like rabid dogs. As he gained experience and authority, he did what he could to bring in cyberpsychos alive.
Within a year he'd been promoted to captain, leading his own MaxTac squad. He had six working under him, and with the god-complex more under control he was actually a good leader. They listened and responded well, and he listened to their input, and together they were quick and efficient. And all of them agreed to attempting live captures first, and killing only when necessary, regardless of if they were responding to cyberpsychos or gangers (the sole exception being Maelstrom, as Theron had a personal vendetta against them). It was good for a time. He had a rank he was happy with, he was adjusting to his new life, his wife was supportive without coddling him.
At 38, when he finds out Nikita is pregnant, he fully retires. Focuses on being a boxing trainer, and leading therapy sessions and seminars on ptsd at the local VA. With a newborn at home he chooses a less deadly livelihood, and decides to focus on his own mental wellbeing for the sake of his family. He becomes the main stay at home parent, as well, his wife wanting to keep up the work she's doing. He's happy with it, but he has no regrets working for MaxTac as long as he did.
