Broken hand
Pairing: Dr. Trinity 'Trin' Santos x reader
Synopsis: Reader breaks her hand and meets the prettiest knight in shining armor doctor she has ever seen.
Word count: 1.7k+ of pure nothingness
Warnings: Broken bones, no gruesome explanations though. Emotionally abusive father, so nothing new for me. Sucky writing, I wrote this at 2 am and didn't proof read, whoops. I don't even know if I like it all that much.
A/N: Hey, hi, hello. So was forced to watch The Pitt with my parents, and jokes on me, I fell in love with it. So, this is loosely based off myself. I fell at work back in November and I'm like 90% sure I broke my hand, but I never got it checked because I thought I could be a tough girl and deal with it. Anywho, haven't posted a fic since fictober, and here I am back with a brand new fandom. Please send in requests for The Pitt, I'm obsessed atm.
Also have an idea for a part 2 to this, reader takes Trin to a family event and reader's dad is pissed that Trin is around and she still refuses to put up with his shit.
Tumblr media
With every hour you were stuck in the ER waiting room, your fathers temper grew shorter and shorter. After five long hours in the waiting room you’ve come to the conclusion that you should have just sucked it up and dealt with the pain, or at the very least gone to urgent care instead, but that  was closed when you arrived at the hospital hours ago. You’re approaching six hours when someone finally calls your name, and you can head to the back. You’re shown to your bed, and by the time you get situated three doctors are in the room waiting for you.
“I’m Dr. Langdon, and this is Dr. King, and Dr. Santos,” your eyes widen ever so slightly when they land on Dr. Santos, and if you didn’t know any better you would think hers did the same thing. All of those years on stupid dating apps, and all you needed to do was injure yourself to find the prettiest woman in Pittsburg. “It says in your file that you think you broke your wrist?”
“Are three doctors really necessary?” your irritated father asks from your bedside before you can even respond to the question.
“This is a teaching hospital, sir,” Dr. Langdon responds, his own frustration thinly veiled.
“It’s fine,” you speak up for the first time, voice small. “Nice to meet you three, I’d offer to shake your hands, but it hurts to grip things.” You let out a little self deprecating giggle.
“Does it hurt when you do anything else?” Dr. Langdon asks while lightly grabbing your hand to check for swelling. “It doesn’t look that swollen.”
“See, I told you it was fine,” your father mutters.
“Actually, you can fracture your hand and have no noticeable swelling,” Dr. Santos adds, stepping to the other side of your bed, half blocking you from your father’s view.
“Um,” you give Dr. Santos a small smile before responding to Dr. Langdon’s earlier question. “It hurts when I grip, twist, bend my wrist to make my pinky closer to my wrist, and when I put pressure on it. It’s the outer part that hurts, the area below my pinky and ring finger.” You gesture towards the area, hand still being looked over by Dr. Langdon.
“Does this hurt?” he asks, twisting your wrist outward.
“Yes,” you whimper a little, Santos glaring at Langdon over your head.
“Okay, do either of you have any questions for the patient?” Dr. Langdon asks his residents.
“How did you hurt it?” Dr. Santos asks in a calming tone, one that earns strange looks from the other two doctors.
“Um, well I slipped and fell at work, and I caught myself mainly on my right hand. It started to hurt pretty much right away, and I could barely move it without crying,” you admit the last part quietly, embarrassing yourself in front of the cute doctor.
“Did you know, it’s better to fall without tensing your body, and rolling upon impact, it keeps you from landing roughly on one body part and breaking it,” Dr. King adds from the foot of the bed, pushing up her glasses.
“Not helping,” Dr. Santos snaps, while Dr. Langdon also makes a face to the other doctor to let her know that he agrees with Santos for once.
“That’s what I've been telling you for years, don’t be such a dumbass next time,” your dads irritation clearly growing throughout the consultation.
“That’s me, just a dumbass,” you look down at your hand, refusing to meet the gaze of anyone in the room. “But yes, I did know that, um, I was falling in the direction of a wall, so it was either my hand or my head hitting the wall. I figured hand was the better option.”
“Sir, why don’t we step out in the hall for a moment,” Dr. Langdon addresses your father. “Dr. King and Dr. Santos can ask some follow up questions in private.”
“I’ll stay where I god damn please, she’s on my insurance still, so I’m staying with her,” your dad yells, and you can practically hear the rest of the ER grow quiet for a few seconds.
“Sir, she has to change into a gown and they have to take her for a urine sample, before we can take her for and X-ray,” Dr. Langdon tries to reason with your father.
“Do you have a smoking area around here?” your father grunts, conceding in his own way.
“Yeha, I’ll have Nurse Evans show you where it is,” Dr. Langdon holds the curtain open for your father and closes it behind them when they exit.
“I’m 25, so if I get injured again next year you won’t have to deal with him,” you laugh, breaking the awkward silence with the two female doctors.
“Does he always act like this?” Dr. Santos asks, an annoyed clip to her voice.
“To an extent,” you nod for no one's benefit, you don’t even know why you’re telling her this. “He doesn’t do well when he or someone he cares about is hurt, so his way to cope is to get angry. Something about him not being in control, blah blah blah.”
“It doesn’t mean you should have to deal with that,” she’s staring at you so intently you feel like you could melt right into the bed.
“Maybe not, but he’s not gonna change and the less I fight him the faster his moods go away,” you admit, never looking away from her gorgeous green eyes.
“We have to ask you some routine questions,” Dr. King interrupts your staring contest. “Like Dr. Langdon said you’ll have to have an X-ray done so we need to know if you're pregnant.”
“Nope,” you answer right away.
“Even if there’s a possibility of it, we don’t want to hurt a fetus by exposing it to radiation,” Dr. King continues.
“I’m not pregnant, I’m a lesbian so… never slept with a guy,” you swear you hear a quiet inhale from the dark haired doctor standing next to you. “But I know you won’t take my word for it, so where’s my cup,” you hold out your good hand expectantly.
Sure enough your urine test proves that you aren’t pregnant, so you’re put in line for an X-ray. An hour after that you finally get it done, and according to Dr. Langdon you fractured your triquetrum and hamate bones. Dr. King is walking you back to your bay after letting you change back into your street clothes in the bathroom. You both stop short when you hear an agitated voice from the other side of the curtain, a voice that certainly isn’t your fathers.
“Your daughter fractured two bones in her hand, and she handled her pain a lot better than most of the men I’ve seen come through here this week with less severe injuries. Ya know, I’ve known men like you, men who think they can walk all over the women in their lives, but you can’t. One day she’s gonna realize that she doesn’t have to put up with your bullshit anymore, and you’ll lose her forever. Show some damn respect for your daughter.”
“Who do you think you are-”
“Someone who cares more about your daughter and her health than you do right now. So get your act together, they’re going to put a cast on her and when it dries you guys can head home.”
Dr. Santos throws the curtain open and you come face to face with your gorgeous knight in shining armor. Nobody has ever had the guts to stand up to your father, especially not for you. You can’t read the expression on her face, and she’s stomping off through the ED before you can even form a sentence.
“Guess I can’t say I’ve never broken a bone anymore,” you try to lighten the mood with your dad, sitting back down on the hospital bed. He doesn’t respond, and Dr. King informs you that someone will be back in a few minutes to wrap your hand, before she takes off across the ED.
You’re shocked, but thrilled, when Dr. Santos returns with the supplies to put a cast on your arm. You’re dad huffs and leaves to have another cigarette when he sees who it is. Being alone with Dr. Santos for the first time, you're forced to confront the fact that you more than likely stink after eight hours at the hospital. The last thing you want to do is embarrass yourself in front of this gorgeous woman.
“You’ll have to come back in six weeks to get this cast off and have another round of X-rays to see if your hand healed properly. We can set up an appointment, that way you don’t have to wait for hours,” Dr Santos says, as she dips the plaster in water and starts wrapping it around your hand and arm.
“Thank you, I appreciate that,” you can barely breathe when you fill her fingertips ghosting across your skin.
“I also brought some pamphlets on mental and emotional abuse,” she’s staring directly into your soul as she tells you this.
“Uh, thanks, but I don’t really need those. I’m fine, I’m moving out next month, it’ll be okay. It’s nothing I haven’t dealt with before, and he’s just turning into a crotchety old man,” you absently play with the hem of your shirt with your non-plastered hand. “Thanks though, and thank you for what you said to him, no one’s done that before.”
“Well they should,” she says assertively, slipping you a piece of paper with a number on it before going back to wrapping your hand. “And if you don’t want the pamphlets, at least take this, it’s my personal number. If you ever want to chat, I’ll be there to listen, I've dealt with men like that, I understand. It may take me twelve plus hours to respond, but I promise I will,”
“That I’ll do,” your face morphing into a goofy love struck grin, clutching tightly to the paper like it’s a life line.
“And, maybe, you’d like to go on a date with me sometime,” she ventures, laying down the last bit of plaster.
“I’d love to,” you giggle like a love struck teen.
“My name’s Trinity by the way,” she smiles back at you, leaning in ever so slightly.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Trinity, definitely makes my fall worth it.”

⨳ ʾ apps/sites 4 shifting . ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi! this will be long but i made a list of apps/sites that might be helpful for your shifting journey. reminder that you don't need these to shift but they can be helpful with manifesting, keeping track of stuff, etc.
enjoy! divider cr
NOT SPONSORED BTW LMAO
Tumblr media
﹒ ⊹ 🝮 OO1: NOTION ✩
description:
basically notion is an app for documents and stuff. i have to say this one's relatively known and it's such a huge life saver and i know that probably everyone knows about it already (as they should) but i'm gonna recommend it once again.
useful for:
scripting
dashboards you can add life goals & stuff here you can look up some templates/ideas and see what i mean LOL
cons:
i personally can not think of any major ones because this app is just that good
you do have to make new accounts for the text ai generating feature but i don't know if anyone would use that
additional notes:
i personally love how customizable it is! like you can make each page have a custom icon & header, add widgets, images, and so much more. it is so so so insanely helpful for scripting i'm telling you. or you can just be basic, that works too. there's also a bunch of script templates online including specific ones (like a better cr, fame dr, fantasy dr, fandom-specific drs, bla bla bla) and it's literally the only thing shifttok is good for imo. i'm a big fan of shifterium's templates but there's other people who make them as well and i'm sure you can find some recommendations!
Tumblr media
★ ₊ ➲ OO2: CANVA
description:
a website + app where you can design stuff from headers down to presentations, posters, covers, etc..
useful for:
album covers for singer/idol drs
book covers for writer drs or something
fake social media posts but there's better apps out there and i'll list them here as well
and much more!
cons:
a lot of things (most of which i think are the good stuff) are paid but you can find similar replicas if you scroll long enough i guess..?? and there's a free trial but i don't know if that helps
additional notes:
definitely my favorite place to go when i need to design something tbh. there's a bunch of templates you can use and the layout is very easy to navigate through! and it's pretty easy to find free alternatives for the paid stuff you do have in there
Tumblr media
₍ⁿ⑅..ⁿ₎ ˇ ⩩ OO3: PARROT ❀
description:
parrot is an app where you can record yourself saying literally anything and play it on a continuous loop
useful for:
affirmations (manifesting??)
cons:
i'm pretty sure it's iOS only
additional notes:
personally i haven't used this app (i don't like my voice so i will not be recording myself saying affirmations thank yew) so i can't give it a rating but from the looks of it and based off of recommendations i've seen it's pretty useful. should be a white icon with a pink circle that has a white parrot in it!
Tumblr media
≥≤ ﹕ ⤷ OO4: BEHINDTHENAME ◍
description:
a site where you can generate names & even life stories if you choose it (including height, weight, blood type, birthday, nationality and more i think?? at least it gives those for me). you can choose from different cultures and stuff like fantasy & mythology.
useful for:
finding a name & info for your dr self (which is literally you by the way don't forget that!) and potentially other people you'd like to script in
cons:
it really just helps to make a basic profile of a person so the things you can do with it can be a little limited
additional notes:
i prefer using this site for ocs instead but i think it can definitely help with shifting! oddly enough it also shows like a lifespan & cause of death so.. cool i guess!!!!
Tumblr media
✦ ﹕ OO5: SOCIAL MAKER/dummy
description:
social maker & social dummy are both apps where you can replicate almost basically anything from the internet from twitter posts to facebook posts, youtube posts, and more!
useful for:
social media stuff especially useful for fame drs, streamer drs, idol/singer drs and so much more
cons:
both apps were deleted so you have to have had installed them before if you want to get them back
social maker is ios only i think?
additional notes:
yeah both apps are deleted but there's alternatives out there like twinote (for twitter) photonote (for instagram) canva (has fake social media templates as i said lol) and others that you can look for (because i personally only use twinote)
Tumblr media
⋆ ᶻᶻ OO6: HELLOFACE ﹒ ★
description:
basically an app for ai face swapping
useful for:
seeing what your face claim (if you have one) would look like on for example dances, fancams, interviews definitely useful for idol/singer/maybe fame drs
cons:
uses ai (i'm personally not a big fan of ai)
pretty underground so the chances that you might not like it are not low
Tumblr media
✭ ❒︎ OO7: ROOM PLANNER . ♡
description:
basically what the name says. it's a 3d home designer
useful for:
making your dr room/house
visualizing your dr room/house
cons:
has paid stuff
Tumblr media
┊ ‧ ⬭ OO8: COMBYNE
description:
an app where you can combine items you like from a wide selection of stuff to make outfits!
useful for:
making outfits for your dr
visualizing said outfits
additional notes:
there's other things you can do on the app like challenges where you can compete to make the best outfit i think?? looks pretty fun i might try it HAHAHA
Tumblr media
yuh so i got a little lazy here at the end & i know this is prolly not very helpful because most of these apps/sites are pretty well known but maybe just maybe.. i helped someone out...
HAPPY SHIFTING!!!!!

Edit: the app launched and Is down- I have the initial apology video in a post here and I’m working on getting a full archive of their TikTok up ASAP. I’m letting the rest of this post remain since I do still stand by most of it and also don’t like altering things already in circulation.
Warning for criticism and what I’d consider some harsh to outright mean words:
So I’ve just been made aware of the project known of as ‘lore.fm’ and I’m not a fan for multiple reasons. For one this ‘accessibility’ tool complicates the process of essentially just using a screen reader (something native to all I phones specifically because this is a proposed IOS app) in utterly needless and inaccessible ways. From what I have been seeing on Reddit they have been shielding themselves (or fans of the project have been defending them) with this claim of being an accessibility tool as well to which is infuriating for so many reasons.
I plan to make a longer post explaining why this is a terrible idea later but I’ll keep it short for tonight with my main three criticisms and a few extras:
1. Your service requires people to copy a url for a fic then open your app then paste it into your app and click a button then wait for your audio to be prepared to use. This is needlessly complicating a process that exists on IOS already and can be done IN BROWSER using an overlay that you can fully control the placement of.
2. This is potentially killing your own fandom if it catches on with the proposed target market of xreader smut enjoyers because of only needing the link as mentioned above. You don’t have to open a fic to get a link this the author may potentially not even get any hits much less any other feedback. At least when you download a pdf you leave a hit: the download button is on the page with the fic for a reason. Fandom is a self sustaining eco system and many authors get discouraged and post less/even stop writing all together if they get low interaction.
3. Maybe we shouldn’t put something marketed as turning smut fanfic into audio books on the IOS App Store right now. Maybe with KOSA that’s a bad idea? Just maybe? Sarcasm aside we could see fan fiction be under even more legal threat if minors use this to listen to the content we know they all consume via sites like ao3 (even if we ask them not to) and are caught with it. Auditory content has historically been considered much more obscene/inappropriate than written content: this is a recipe for a disaster and more internet regulations we are trying to avoid.
I also have many issues with the fact that this is obviously redistributing fanfiction (thus violating the copyright we hold over our words and our plots) and removing control the author should have over their content and digital footprint. Then there is the fact that even though the creator on TikTok SAYS you can email to have your fic ‘excluded’ based on the way the demo works (pasting a link) I’m gonna assume that’s just to cover her ass/is utter bullshit. I know that’s harsh but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it’s probably a duck.
I am all for women in stem- I’ve BEEN a woman in Stem- but this is not a cool girl boss moment. This is someone naive enough to think this will go over well at best or many other things (security risks especially) at worst.
In conclusion for tonight: I hope this person is a troll but there is enough hype and enough paid for web domains that I don’t think that’s the case. There are a litany of reasons every fanfic reader and writer should be against something like this existing and I’ll outline them all in several other posts later.
Do not email their opt out email address there is no saying what is actually happening with that data and it is simply not worth the risks it could bring up. I hate treating seemingly well meaning people like potential cyber criminals but I’ve seen enough shit by now that it’s better to be safe than sorry. You’re much safer just locking all your fics to account only. I haven’t yet but I may in the future if that is the only option.
If anyone wants a screen reader tutorial and a walk through of my free favorites as well as the native IOS screen reader I can post that later as well. Sorry for the heavy content I know it’s not my normal fare.

hi, question for you, have you ever experienced prolonged writer’s block before? do you happen to have any advice for getting a writing flow going again, that you’d be willing to share?
bc i don’t want to get too heavy in your asks, but between chronic illness/fatigue and longterm autistic burnout i haven’t been able to write a single word in several years now, and GOD am i tired of it. it’s like all the stories and words are stuck inside me and i can see it all in my head but the faucet is jammed and i just can’t get it OUT! i have been slowly feeling like the creative embers are maybe starting to spark again but it’s so hard not to get impatient with myself because it never seems to actually transfer to paper (or word document or notes app). any ideas or tips?
no pressure to answer this if you don’t want to of course, regardless i really enjoy your writing and i’m so glad that i can at least engage with fandom through other authors even when i can’t write my own stories! 💛
Oh god, yeah, I DEFINITELY have experienced that, hahasob. I have gone through at LEAST a year or two without, like, putting down a single word or even drawing anything, just total creative block/not there-ness. Like I feel u on that one, bud.
Good news: now if I write less than 2k in a day I think "oh that's kinda low, huh", so like . . . definitely "didn't write jack shit for [ INSERT TIME PERIOD HERE ]" has yet to sink me, and therefore fuck if it's gonna sink ANY of us. We persevere!!
So like, in my experience actually helpful writing advice is just SO wildly "you just gotta try shit 'til something works"-based that I'mma just give you a list made up of a bunch of, like, assorted tips and tricks that I use on myself to make my brain put words down when it's being stubborn about it, though different ones work at different times and obvi YMMV here anyway because for obvious reasons these are all approaches that I have tailored to my own needs, hah, and some of them are a bit facetious and some are also a bit heavy, but absolutely and unironically I reguarly use them all and they have all repeatedly worked for me.
Also, they're all gonna be goin' behind a cut because WOW there's actually a lot more of them than I realized I had, hahaha. The psychiatrist who recently used me as a case study told me I was very self-aware, so take from that what you will, friend.
Get up and do a chore/take a shower/eat a snack/literally just walk through a friggin' doorway, more often than not it'll at least make your brain reorient enough for you to realize you were just beating your head against a wall and need to do [ INSERT DAMAGE CONTROL/HARM REDUCTION BEHAVIOR HERE ].
Track your progress. Write to-do lists and cross shit off 'em. Keep track of your word count when you write; put it in a spreadsheet or a notebook or on a graph on your bulletin board.
Get a NEW way to track your progress. I currently use, like, three different "to-do list" apps to varying degrees in varying ways, not counting just my basic calendar app ( for the record: Finch, Structured, and just a generic notes app, but mostly Finch and Structured and seriously I CANNOT recommend Finch enough, go get yourself a bird buddy immediately. do you want a friend code, I will GIVE you a friend code, I think it gives you a bonus mini-pet or something if you use it. ), and also set myself MANY a phone alarm to remind myself of things that I need to do in case I space out or get distracted by somebody/something/the specific phase of the moon.
Did you take your meds? Take your fucking MEDS, self, good LORD.
Leave the house even if for literally, like, thirty seconds to just stand in some actual natural light. Or leave the house to go eat at a cafe or library or fast food place and just put yourself in a new environment for literally any length of time whatsoever.
Switch pens. Switch notebooks. Get a NEW notebook. Use your laptop instead. Use your PHONE instead. Get a nicer notebook. Get a shittier notebook. Use the scratch paper at work. Use the Procreate app on your friggin' iPad if you gotta, whatever, you do what you want!!
Don't write!!
Seriously just don't, go watch an actual scripted TV show or movie or read a book or a comic or some fic. Feed your brain something you didn't have to make up yourself.
Come up with a convoluted way to trick yourself into being accountable to someone else. Join a writing group. Make a Tumblr post about how you're gonna go write now. Ask Tumblr for their opinion on what you should write now. Ask Tumblr to spin this random wheel spinner game you generated and tell you what answer they got, and then write THAT.
HAVE you had a snack? Did you eat breakfast? Did you eat lunch? Did you remember to move around the house at any point whatsoever during the day? Maybe like, do that. Like, at least the snack part. Maybe a stretch or something wouldn't hurt either though.
Meal prep is so fucking useful and saves you SO much annoying time and also, like, makes you eat actual veggies and fruit and shit, genuinely actually works, the gym bros were not wrong, go figure. Also then you don't have to think about what you're gonna eat all the time and then cook it and then clean up and then--yeah anyway meal prep, god bless it. Once a week I make a batch of pasta salad and roast a pan of good-when-roasted veggies with like, garlic and salt and pepper and some olive oil and add bacon after, and then I portion it all into tupperware and in the morning I add spinach or crack an egg into that day's share of veggies for breakfast and maybe make some toast, and just grab one of the pasta salads whenever I want something lunch-like. It saves SO much time and distraction when you are hurting for free time/focus. So, SO much.
Unfortunately the gym bros were also correct about exercise, if that's doable for you. Exercise does in fact make you feel better and more energized and less depressed, fuck those guys for being right about that shit. Assuming you have enough iron in your blood to actually, like, do it, which admittedly I frequently do not, but the point stands.
Dude why are you even trying to write, you're so tired, go to bed and get up early, you write SO much better in the mornings anyway.
Hey, I know that's how you USED to write, but like, is that actually how you write right now? Is that actually even what works for you anymore? Actually maybe outlines COULD be helpful or maybe you don't need all those worldbuilding notes all at once; maybe your inner architect needs to let the building decay and go back to nature or maybe your inner gardener has developed a taste for trellises, metaphorically speaking and all.
Please eat something. Also please DRINK something. Like ideally water but we'll go for anything that involves a liquid, seriously.
Hey did you know actually if you ONLY eat instant ramen and microwave pizza you'll probably get scurvy and die instead of, like, writing your magnum opus? Like probably?? Put a fucking egg in that ramen, man! Slice up a scallion in that bitch!! EAT AN ACTUAL WHOLE FRUIT or at least, like, buy a smoothie with actual fruit involved somewhere in it on occasional. The whole fruit, unfortunately, is better. I like apples. Apples take a REAL long time to rot if I forget they exist for a couple weeks or whatever. But like, mango smoothies are also the shit, can't turn down a mango smoothie or a good strawberry-banana. Hey did you know the grocery store just, like, will let you just buy one single apple and they don't give a fuck? You're free! The cashier won't remember you in five minutes!! Buy your one single apple and work your way up to maybe two apples next time!! Also now I want an apple!!!!
Don't write. Don't write THAT. Write the other thing. No, the OTHER other thing. No, not THAT other other thing.
The rules are made up and the points don't matter.
Fuck it, we ball.
[ INSERT FULL-THROTTLE STIMMING BEHAVIOR HERE ]
Only God can judge me and I'm still technically agnostic.
God, that's the weirdest fucking idea you've ever had, literally NO ONE but you would read it. So you should write 180k of it and also make it even weirder and yes it will absolutely be the one fic that just about everyone in MCU fandom who knows you exist knows you for, don't even worry about it, this isn't based on a true story at all.
Actually you could probably storyboard this scene to figure out wtf is happening here. Or like just draw literally anything related to this story, a bit of that might work some kinks out of the whole process.
Did you get that snack yet?
Hey go pet your dog, she's very soft and wants attention and also her OWN snack. Pet your dog and eat an apple and idk watch some anime or a weird niche documentary or an even more niche reality show, have you seen Deep-Fried Dynasty yet, it's on Hulu and was surprisingly engrossing.
Why are you even following the rules, we've been over this, they are made up and the points do NOT matter, and also you're not even getting graded for this anyway.
Yeah okay that thing you wrote sucked, but it turns out that Dean Koontz somehow has a writing career and also Twilight happened to all of us, so actually even the suckiest thing you ever write is gonna be better than the perfect ideal of the scene in your head, because the suckiest thing you ever write is something OTHER people can READ. And again: Dean Koontz has a career. Colleen HOOVER has a career. And fucking good for them, they're killing it, they are fucking WRITING!! Who gives a damn anyway, fix it in editing if you're that worried about it, they call it a rough draft for a reason.
Hey if that thing doesn't work you can just, like, delete it. Or rewrite it. Or stick it in your back pocket and do something else for a while. The sunk-cost fallacy is bullshit and you don't have to listen to it.
Maybe drink some more caffeine, that'll calm you down. [ DISCLAIMER: THIS PIECE OF ADVICE TAILORED TO A PERSON WITH MORE ADHD THAN LITERALLY NINETY-FIVE PERCENT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD; THAT PERCENTAGE IS ON THE ACTUAL LEGITIMATE DIAGNOSTIC PAPERWORK ]
Seriously you can just write anything you want, nobody can stop you. Only God can judge me and I'm still technically agnostic enough that that's like, thirty-seventy odds at BEST.
God that idea is so niche and weird and niche, better tone it the fuck down to--oh wait no mass appeal means you're writing popcorn and literally no one will remember it in five minutes anyway, stop reflexively censoring yourself for some imaginary audience that will just chew straight through your one-size-fits-all story for The Content(tm) and then immediately move onto the next one without even bothering to hit "kudos" or remember anything about it later. I have written shit so weird that people still remember how weird I was TWENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER, man, and that is why literally anyone will EVER remember that you exist or wanna read your stuff or follow you to a new fandom where they don't even know the source material, fuck it, they'll wiki some shit. And also who cares anyway, it's YOUR stuff and YOU wanna read it. Your agnostically-possible god did not make you this weird and niche for no reason, don't pussy out now!!
Actually you can just write in the bath/on the bus/while waiting for your roommate to finish up with the guy running this estate sale. You've got your phone, right? Fuck it, pack a notebook. Pack an extra notebook. Pack a smaller notebook. Pack a BIGGER notebook.
It's not stupid if it works. You don't have to do what literally ANYONE else is doing, you just have to do what works.
You can literally just skip to the good part and write that, actually. Nobody's gonna throw you in writer-jail. What are we, cops?? Actually do you even need this lead-up here or do you just need to write this one specific blorbo gettin' laid REAL enthusiastically kinkily and/or maybe having a nervous breakdown sobfest over their perception of their personal self-worth and everything else is kinda just window dressing??
I mentioned the snack thing, right? Also sugar rushes are fake but sugar CRASHES are real so maybe be a little careful on that one, maybe buy some trail mix/jerky/smoked salmon, smoked salmon is SO good, smoked salmon is just objectively delicious.
Go talk somebody's ear off about what you're trying to write about. Bonus points if you can find somebody who matches your freak enough that you write, uhhhhh /checks smudged writing on wrist/ a 60k Overwatch fic in two weeks and also like 280k of Witcher fic in less than a year specifically because they're just a real good cheerleader. Wow. Wow that was a lot more Witcher fic than I was aware I had written. THE POINT IS LOOK FOR A WRITING BUDDY, WRITING BUDDIES ARE THE SHIT.
If the writing buddy doesn't work out though the first time I won NaNoWriMo I did it directly out of spite because someone said they didn't think I actually would. So like, spite is always an option, you can always keep that one on tap if you gotta.
Stephen King did not write "On Writing" because he didn't want you to write. Francesca Lia Block did not introduce you to the weirdest and gayest shit teenage!you had ever read so you'd grow up and be a fucking NORMIE about this shit. SIR TERRY PRATCHETT DID NOT WRITE LIKE SIXTEEN OF YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT YOU TO WRITE WHAT YOU WERE ACTUALLY FRICKIN' INTO.
Clean your room. No, better than that. Okay fuck it just set a ten-minute timer and do what you can in that time, we work with the spoons we've got.
Random number generator. Random color generator. Random "hey followers here's a very oblique poll, don't even worry about what it's about, just click a button please and thank you".
Did you know the internet will just GIVE you free graphs/trackers/bullet journal page designs and you can just print 'em out and do whatever the heck you want with 'em?? Yes my new little "color in the squares every day you do the thing" tracker IS just six daily writing tasks and two daily "just go pick some stuff up in this specific room" tasks and that is MY BUSINESS, MS. SIR AND MR. MADAM AND MX. [ INSERT BUZZER SOUND ]. And also, like, has done much better at getting me to do chores than anything else has in a minute, go fig.
You can actually just do whatever you want forever.
Literally, like just forever.
Fuck, how many times HAVE you done this? You'll never get better for good, it'll always go bad again, you'll always get sick again, you'll always get SAD again, you'll always fucking forget how to even DO this again and have to start all over.
Well yes, obviously, because you'll always have done it again. So do it again. One more time.
( seriously though did you take your meds-- )

thinking out loud abt recent discussions in the touchstarved/obscura fandoms :) literally just my own personal opinion !!!!!
i can't stop thinking abt cirrus bc he's honestly what i want so badly for the touchstarved LIs. it's what i wanted for count lucio.
i was reading y'all's opinions abt the touchstarved marketing and your concerns abt how the game is gonna turn out, and while i was understanding, i also was so confused abt .. where this sudden concern was coming from. and then i played obscura and i was like oh! i didn't know a game could be like this! i didn't know a demo could be like this! i had entirely different reactions to the obscura demo than i did the touchstarved demo
—and yeah that's comparing two totally different games, different studios, different projects. the touchstarved demo served to introduce the characters and the world and it did that wonderfully. it's satisfactory. it's not that they did anything wrong?? but i cannot deny they gave me two insanely different reactions. i was YELLING when cirrus was doing his shit. it was like what i imagine watching trashy reality tv is like. or like watching one of those poorly-made TV movies and just enjoying the ride. i was hollering and jumping out of my chair and GAWKING at the screen. like cirrus was real and he was really saying this insane shit and i was SO ON BOARD and selecting every insane option the game gave me. it was just so wild. and it was so, so fun.
so i thought abt it more and i was like yeah. i actually see where this concern is coming from. rss keeps their stuff so close to their chest that it's hard to tell what routes they're taking, how they're dealing with certain issues, how deep the character arcs go, etc. i have no idea how fucked up their version of monstrosity gets, and for a game that is ENTIRELY about monsters and monstrosity, that definitely gives me pause. we don't know anything. they drop hints and we guess and theorize, but we don't know anything. we know leander is fucked up. we know they're all fucked up. in what way? who knows. does mhin murder people as a giant crow beast every night? we don't definitively know. we kinda assume that based on lore drops, but we don't know. but then other studios are doing semi-regular q&as and dropping information into the laps of their fans on a daily basis (lost in limbo??? hello? every day i get a notif that they've told us something new, either abt ALL the characters or about the world). idk how early obscura devs have been answering questions but they're also doing something similar. but for rss you can send in questions and you're probably never gonna hear back. you can't just ask them what song the m5 LIs would sing on karaoke night and get a response 🧍🏼 they don't do that. which isn't to say it's WRONG of them—i'm not saying they're being bad game devs by any means—but it's definitely a different way to handle game development compared to these other studios we follow.
that lack of fan involvement and information sharing is where the concern comes from, i think. at least on my part!
i mentioned count lucio earlier and i want to elaborate why. firstly, he's my favorite character of all time. i've been writing a fanfic for him for 2 years, and it's nearly 200k words (i'm taking a break from it rn). like i love lucio as a character so, so deeply. is it because of the arcana game? no, actually. it's because of the POTENTIAL his character has. it's because of what the FANS have pulled from him and shaped him into.
the arcana was on the app store. it had such strict rules about what it could and couldn't be. and yeah i can rant about how dumb nix hydra is for taking the mico-transaction phone app route, but my point in all of it is that the devs failed lucio. i think they fumbled a lot, with the other characters as well, but lucio was their watch mojo top 10 biggest anime fails of all time #1 spot.
his bad ending shows him as the new DEVIL and dictator of the world??? and we got to see none of that. his whole route woobified him to pieces. he's just a lil meow meow. he's Baby. he didn't know better. he just made some Oopsies 👉🏻👈🏻 uh oh!!
like he was the main VILLAIN of the story and they turned him into a manchild. the wasted potential of this guy is insane. and i guess i saw that and thought "i can make this motherfucker so much worse" and i did that and will continue to do that. so have his other fans. people have rewritten his route altogether because it was so unsatisfactory.
there's overlap from the arcana in the rss dev team. do i think touchstarved will be the new arcana? nope!!!! but am i also worried they'll play it safe because they think the fanbase wants conventionally loveable love interests? yeah. i absolutely see the concern. it's very real and very there. does red spring studio KNOW we want truly monstrous characters? do they? we're just hoping they do.
leander doesn't have to be just like cirrus. none of them have to be anything. but i do want them to be monstrous. i want to FEEL something the same way i feel something when cirrus orders me onto my knees. like not even in a kinky sexual way. i want to be shocked. i want to hesitate and think "what is this character doing right now? what will i do right now?" i want to be confused and shocked and pleasantly surprised and also horrified. i want the adrenaline high i got while playing cirrus's first chapter. it was like my cptsd was triggered in the best possible way (lmao).
and it's not even about that.
lost in limbo is more fantasy romance than it is horror (save for the goddamn voidbound holy fuck!) but i know that i'll enjoy the game anyhow because i love all the characters. why do i love all the characters? because the devs tell us about them. they don't even have to spoil the game. i know amon smells like chocolate and has a fake southern accent (HELLO?) and that ara can't sing. lost in limbo could be the corniest fucking game and i would still love it because i'm already so attached to the characters.
the reason i turned to lost in limbo and obscura is because my excitement for touchstarved waned. because there's just a once in a blue moon post and it's likely it'll just be a "backers have new updates!" post. which isn't said to shame rss or backers !!!! that's normal and fine and valid!!!! do that!!!! i just mean rss is BARELY giving us what we want. we're stranded in the desert dying and rss is trickling water droplets one by one to each of us. lost in limbo devs are pissing fresh spring water into our mouths at firehose speed. is rss bad for this? no. they're not doing anything wrong. but a natural consequence of their marketing strategy is that fans will move on. i still love touchstarved. i'm going to play it. i'm reblogging fanart and fanfics. i'm posing the mormon leander theory. like i'm still here and still very much active but touchstarved isn't on my mind the way lost in limbo & obscura are.
ravenstar games tells me gael would fail the trial in the tale of orpheus and eurydice and i'm like holy fuck??? holy fuck!!!!!!
would ais? would mhin? i don't fucking know.
and what about elyon and sen? i know they're DLC bonus LIs and they don't need to be fleshed-out as soon as the main LIs. they can be on the back burner until touchstarved comes out. this is fair. but what about them? we know nothing other than 1. elyon is rich because of brothel money and 2. sen is an undead warden? (like a prison guard? like the ppl who watch over vere? i don't even know that for sure) (we also know their flowers but that's barely anything). meanwhile lost in limbo is sharing info about cécile and lázaro as often as their main love interests. they're not forgotten about. i can't even make a mc for sen's route because i know nothing about her!!!!!! which hurts my heart because i love sen. i love the idea of sen. it's the first time a female love interest in one of these games is 1. my type but also 2. not exactly like me (ara i love you but we are twins).
they're impersonal. they are 2D concepts we try to fill out.
maybe rss will tell us the LIs go-to karaoke song after the game releases. or maybe they won't. but there are just so many benefits to sharing that kinda thing and bonding with your fans in that way. that's my whole point. it's not "i need a steady stream of touchstarved content pumped directly into my veins 24/7 or i lose all interest" it's not that!!!!! obviously not because rss doesn't do that and i'm still here. this is my most active blog! i'm having a blast here because the fandom is sick as hell. we're vibing, doing our own thing, and it's great. but rss feels very distant. they are the senobium and we are residents of lowtown wondering when or if things will ever be different. if we're going to have a good day (lore drop or new art) or if things will just continue on as expected.
to reiterate: this post isn't about how rss is doing something wrong or bad or that ravenstar games/rotten raccoons are sososososo much better than rss. rss doesn't have to do everything other studios are doing. that's not what i'm saying. this is just the reality of what rss is doing vs other devs and how i PERSONALLY feel about it. i love them i would literally strap a bomb to my chest and demand my loved ones' credit card info to disarm it for any of these studios/games. i am a fan and i'm hopeful and i want to trust in rss so so so so badly. i want the very best for them. i want them to create a great game and be successful. i want them to be creatively fulfilled and proud of their game. on their own time, their own way. really and truly!

Of course people are being defensive, Spotify Anon. You rolled into the Fandom Old corner of Tumblr to tell us to examine our biases based on a streaming platform that only half of us even use at all.
Someome compared it to the f/f wank and they're right. If you accuse people of bullshit based on completely ufounded speculation, half of them will block you and the other half will explain to you why you're wrong. And we can't block other people's anons, so you're just going to have to endure a barrage of "this is bullshit and here's why". You asked for this, this is us examining the racial bias in our spotify wrapped and going "huh, it can't show bias if it doesn't exist" or "how does the fact that I listen to weird non-American music you've never heard of say anything about my feelings about the personhood and rights of American popstars I've never heard of?"
--
Spotify wrapped season is really popular broadly (though not so much around here) to the point that I find it very annoying since you apparently have to download the app to see wrapped??? I hate this season every year.
I use spotify via a browser, grudgingly, because some friends' fun guess-the-song stuff is on there. I had to use it at the fertility clinic because that's what they use to play music while injecting you with eggs. (I picked Mono if anyone is curious, but given how insanely painful being inflated with saline was, I should probably have picked D-2. I just thought it wasn't available because Spotify used to NOT FUCKING HAVE most of BTS' side projects because Spotify sucks donkey balls. Have I mentioned lately how much I resent the ubiquity of this piece of garbage? Have I?)
The thing that gets me that I hadn't quite worked out until just now is that 100 songs is the precise right amount to feel huge and significant without actually being so. Top 100 albums or artists is still an illusion of knowing what someone listens to. (Spotify has been improving, but they still routinely don't have the stuff I want.) But at least there, by the time you get to my 100th most listened to artist for a year, you might have some kind of picture of what I listen to.
Now, if you only listen to prog rock on vinyl, maybe your top 100 songs represent about 50 albums. >:D But let's say you're listening to some modern albums with bonus tracks and shit on Spotify. Your top 100 might be March When I Broke Up And Listened To The Same Five Albums Day And Night. No matter how diverse and interesting the rest of your musical diet, your bland-ass breakup playlist is now ninety out of one hundred songs on your Spotify Wrapped for this year.
I think it's that previously not totally conscious thought about how many 100 songs really is that was annoying me until just now.
Sure, it's just one scenario, but I think this sense of what 100 songs means is what's really annoying me about how people go on about Wrapped. Not just here and about racism: All the mainstream blathering about Wrapped annoys the shit out of me too every damn year.
It's a little like kudos. The top 200-500 most kudosed things in a big fandom may well show some pattern I find interesting. The top 100 most kudosed things show that people like that daily updating omegaverse crossover ship epic with Tony Stark.
Okay, okay, with kudos, you could probably exclude the top 10-30 depending on fandom size, but you know what I mean. Your last 100 fics read mean little, IMO. Your last 100 fandoms read, which is likely to be significantly more than 100 fics, is interesting to me.
It's my usual Numbers Are Deceptive complaint about how people love stats but do not contextualize things well.

Meta Voting, Milgram, and Why You Should Inno Sweep Trial 3
Tumblr media
One thing that I've always admired about MILGRAM is how clearly and frequently the series reiterates that you can vote whichever way you like for whatever reasons you like. A genuine judgment of the crime, an attempt to reach a "happy ending," what most benefits your fave, a ritual to get concert tickets-- as Jackalope says, all of these are equally valid ways to participate in the MILGRAM project. The anything-goes policy makes it really easy to introduce the series to new people, as you can assure them that there's no "wrong" way to vote. Everything is open for discussion, as the project itself refuses to railroad you towards one conclusion or another.
... So, with that philosophy as the project's baseline, why have Deco and Yamanaka tried to stop us from voting everyone innocent in Trial 3?
Many people in the MILGRAM fandom have seen and internalized the message from Yamanaka that "if we vote everyone innocent in Trial 3, they'll show us hell." However, I've begun to question whether this is advice we're really meant to follow.
As most MILGRAM fans already know, the MILGRAM project is based off of the real-life experiments performed by Stanley Milgram in 1961. In it, real college students were brought in to perform in an experiment alongside (unbeknownst to them) actors. All of the students were assigned the role of "teachers," and all of the actors were assigned the role of "learners." The learners were brought into an interrogation room, where they were hooked up to (fake) electric torture devices operated by the teachers. The "experimenters" (the scientists running the study) would tell the teachers to continuously shock the learners any time they failed to correctly repeat memorized content, with the punishments getting more and more drastic with each failure. In reality, the experiment attempted to test how much a person would be willing to hurt others while under the instruction of someone seemingly knew better. The results of Stanley Milgram's study showed that the teachers became very willing to hurt other people because someone told them to do so.
MILGRAM recreates this setup with its characters. Our ten prisoners are the learners, and while they aren't actors, their fictional nature fulfills the same purpose as the actors, making it so that no one is really being harmed through the results of our votes. Jackalope is the experimenter, because he's the one telling us to cast the votes, while Es is the teacher, as the person following instructions with very little context. Or at least, this is what the project wants us to believe.
In MILGRAM, it's pretty clear that, while Es is a person in their own right, they're also the stand-in for us as the audience. Obviously, we as real-life people are the ones actually casting the votes for who's innocent and who's guilty on the MILGRAM website and app. But that meta aspect of the project is also directly referred to within the project itself, as Es struggles with their identity as a person instead of a thought collective in many of the audio dramas. Therefore, in relation to the Milgram experiment, I would argue that we, the viewers are the equivalent to the Milgram experiment's "teachers," not Es. They're more so, like, the button that's being pressed.
However, if we're willing to accept that Es as their own entity isn't really the one being tested by the voting system, then I think we need to consider whether Jackalope as his own entity is really the one who's testing us with the voting system. Us viewers aren't really being jerked around and told to vote by the cartoon rabbit himself; we're being told to participate in the show's direction via our votes by the real-life creators of the project, Deco and Yamanaka. Thus, Jackalope is not the experimenter in this metaphor, Deco and Yamanaka are. And these experimenters have only given us one steadfast rule: "don't vote everyone innocent in Trial 3.
Hurt these characters because we told you to do so."
If the teachers in the real Milgram project wanted to "beat" the system, they needed to take a stand for themselves and say that enough was enough, refusing to administer lethal electric shocks to the learners. While Jackalope hasn't really told us to do anything, Deco and Yamanaka have. Therefore, I theorize that if we want to "beat" MILGRAM and get the best possible ending, we have to vote all of the characters innocent in the third trial. While refusing to pass verdicts by giving everyone an even 50:50 would probably be even better, the odds of that happening are basically impossible, so to the extent that MILGRAM was built with a win condition in mind, I think this has to be it.
While it might seem scary to directly defy authority in that way, deciding against defying authority was exactly how the Milgram experiment's teachers failed the test of kindness that was put before them. Not to mention, choosing forgiveness seems to fit with the question Undercover posits of whether it's really okay to judge/punish someone based merely on your own opinion, and an interview I saw once (but couldn't find again, sorry) where Yamanaka said that one of his goals with Milgram was to get his audience to think harder about so-called "villains" they might see on the news or the internet, and what circumstances might have led them into that situation.
As someone who self-identifies as a meta voter in MILGRAM, it's my belief that the heart of meta voting has always been an attempt to help everyone. We didn't vote Amane guilty in T1 or Muu guilty in T2 because we hated them, but because we thought that telling Amane that the methodology of her church was wrong and reeling back Muu's blame-shifting would be the best thing for their personal growth. Even if we were seemingly very, very wrong about what was best in some circumstances, every choice was made in an attempted act of love.
For any fellow meta-voters who feel the same (or non-meta voters who are willing to dip their toes into voting meta-textually for the sake of the characters' happiness), I encourage you to vote everyone innocent in Trial 3, as I believe it's the most likely path to the happiest ending we have available to us. It's scary to throw the prisoners we've tried so hard to protect directly into the line of fire of something we've been told is "hell," but hopefully this little essay has managed to convince you that that "hell" might just be a false premise designed to keep us in line.
Thank you for reading, and here's to a non-soul-crushing T3~!

NGl @staff I think tumblr should just try doing regularly scheduled fundraising campaigns like AO3, NPR, and Wikipedia.
Everybody loves this site and wants to ensure its survival.
Nobody likes ads, but we also hate the idea of paying a subscription *just* to get rid of the ads (because it feels predatory). And nobody wants to buy keychains or socks based on random, barely popular memes.
Tumblr is struggling to fund itself. Just be forthright with the issues! Ask people to give money that just goes directly to keeping the servers online and enough staff around to keep things running!
Stop wasting time and money implementing dumb features no one asked for that are just copies of features other social media platforms have but do better than tumblr, and expecting people to love them, when they already use an entire other popular platform dedicated to those features.
Understand why tumblr is unique, and why people have actually stuck around for that. Understand that it's truly one the last platforms to offer this experience. Understand that people are willing to give you money to retain this experience. You don't have to sucker them in with predatory bs.
We don't want this site to randomly go down with no warning and never come back. So be honest with us. Tell us how much money you need to keep running and just ask for it outright. Keep putting it at the top of the site/app until you meet the fundraising goal.
AO3 does this routinely and it always ends up getting way more than it was asking for. Tumblr is, like AO3, an invaluable part of fandom and niche communities.
People would be much happier using this site if they know for sure it's going to be sticking around (or at least give ample warning before going down forever), and they WILL be willing to donate to this end.
I keep seeing folks migrating to other platforms because they don't know if it's "safe" to keep using this site, and this would also alleviate much of that concern.

Hey, so you seem to be the the All Knowing in terms of twst. With Glorious Masquerade getting a rerun soon, I was looking at the cards.
So what the heck is up with Jamil's freaking hat? I'm sorry but I can't look at it without laughing. It looks so stupid. The closest thing I can think of that matches it is the combined crowns of upper and lower Egypt, but this is the equivalent of France so that can't be it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I’m flattered that people come to me with their questions, I want to take a moment to remind everyone that I’m just another TWST fan like you are! ^^ It’s stressful to be considered “all knowing” or a fandom authority 💦 That puts a lot of pressure on me to speak on certain subjects or to interact in a certain way (since people might put too much stock into what I say), and then that ends up detracting from my enjoyment. I’d rather not be put on such a high pedestal, please and thank you.
Now, onto the question!
According to Rollo in 1-13 of Glorious Masquerade, the costumes the NRC students were gifted are “patterned after designs that are over 500 years old.”
Tumblr media
If we extrapolate this to real life, the implication is that these costumes have roots in Renaissance era (14th century to 17th century) French fashion. Interestingly, Rollo’s own hat is similar to a tricorne, which was primarily worn in the 18th century… so technically, his hat is more “modern” than what the NRC students wear 😂
So I browsed through records of hats from the indicated period and guess what? I couldn’t find an exact match—though I did find a lot of hat designs that I found way sillier than what the NRC boys have. Like… sorry, what is THAT 😭
Tumblr media
Some headwear which bears a vague similarity to Jamil’s hat are the Egyptian combined/double crown (the pschent), which Anon has already mentioned, and the French hood, which was worn by women in the 15th century.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The actual closest match I came across was the mitre, a liturgical headdresses worn by Roman Catholic officials. If you look at it from the front, it doesn’t look like much, but it definitely has the height of Jamil’s hat. But then look closer and you’ll realize the mitre does not have one single flap of fabric, but rather two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you take the front flap of a mitre and fold it back, you would probably get something very similar to what Jamil wears. (Note that the black part of the hat is NOT his hair, but is fabric that is part of the hat.)
Considering that Noble Bell College is styled like a cathedral and that the Renaissance era from which the Masquerade Dress clothing derives is characterized by the rediscovery of classical literature, art, and philosophy… perhaps it’s not so strange to see a hat borne of religious associations.
… Why did Jamil specifically get this hat? Not sure, I’m not religious myself so don’t ask me to psychoanalyze him from that angle 😂
The golden part securing the front is unusual and does not appear in French fashion of the time (at least not from what I could tell?). It’s styled like pschent but more likely is meant to be turban-like due to Jamil’s inspiration, Jafar, having the same feather sticking up in the middle of a bulbous hat. You’ll notice Jamil had a “feather” too, albeit metal:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To summarize, I think the design of Masquerade Dress Jamil’s hat borrows from multiple inspirations and not just one/old French fashion. Yana has stated before in a March 2023 interview with the Apple App Store that the cultures of Twisted Wonderland are unique and that the clothing that appears in the game are not “reinterpretations of existing costumes”. She seems to incorporate elements from both high fashion and from a variety of cultures to arrive at the final designs. For example, there are elements of many Nordic cultures in the Apple Pom outfits, and the Pomefiore uniform has a Japanese kimono-like silhouette despite the dorm being based on the the Evil Queen (originating from a German tale). I assume something similar happened when designing the Masquerade Dresses; Yana and co. wanted to combine elements and make something of their own.
Final comment I'll make, the shape of Jamil's hat looks like a kind of dumpling... It makes me hungry.

I apologize if it is too personal but how do you deal with "antishipper" and the way they make callout posts and harassment campaigns against you ? It’s legitimately so scary and it makes me hesitant of posting my own art
Anon! I am very sorry you are going through this horrible feeling of hesitation and anxiety; knowing that people get targeted like that could not only stop you from posting, but stop you from creating altogether, and this is the worst part about this whole thing.
It’s not too personal, and I don’t mind talking about it at all. I’ve talked about our position and our relationship with fandom policing a bunch of times already, so I’m sorry if I’m repeating myself.
I used to be worried about posting certain stuff too. Well, when I was a teen/in my early 20s I wasn’t worried about anything: we had so much juicy stuff posted here lol But then the nsfw ban happened, and the social climate of this app and internet in general started shifting, the first stories about people driven to end their lives because of the hate they received started to come out, and we stopped posting completely. It wasn’t a huge loss to us back then, and this situation wasn’t the only reason why we stopped, but still, it clearly became much more difficult to just appear out of nowhere, throw problematic stuff in your blog and run away again.
I vividly remember us wanting to post my Shingeki no Kyojin drawings and comics based on our AUs and stuff, but not knowing what to do with Ereri – there was no way for us to be “unproblematic” (which was never a concern to us, we just didn’t want to get tons of hate lol) and still post Eren with a man twice his age. So we started posting them without a tag, starting with a drawing that wasn’t too shippy, and then miraculously the world didn’t end. That made us bolder, and we started to post them openly, and posted them for almost two years pretty regularly, alongside some of our other problematic ships + problematic themes. Of course we did get hate, we got a lot of hate while we were posting SnK stuff from all kinds of people, but what we also got a lot of people who found our content refreshing and interesting, even if it was weird and uncomfortable at times.
We weren’t the only people who shipped Ereri (let’s ignore my petty thoughts about the difference between Ereri and Rivaere for now), and we weren’t the only people in Twst fandom who liked Shroudcest, which is another ship that we were super hesitant about posting or even mentioning at first. But with all the hate around I was so certain the world was going to end the moment we post them, and that didn’t happen. The end of the world never happens, but what does happen is that people either get introduced to a fun new dynamic and get invested, or get happy that someone finally posts for the ship they were too afraid to post for. Somehow, when you see some other person being ballsy, you don’t feel as scared anymore – it happened to us with other people’s posts too. Yes, I still say this even though it spawns a bunch of callout posts and harassment, as it did with us. Were we cancelled? Yeah, somewhat. There’s so much you can say about an acc that states “problematic stuff, 18+”, right? I was super relieved and happy, actually, that a lot of people left/blocked us just because they’re the people I’d never want to interact with my art.
I’ve been yapping for a long time already lol so I’ll give you some pieces of advice instead… These are things that legitimately help us.
Surround yourself with people who support you – if not you personally, then at least your ideas (i.e. other proshippers). Luckily, nowadays it’s easier to find them… But also, having a friend who you can vent about these things to helps a lot! It’s cheesy but it’s a fact: when you’re not alone, it’s not as scary.
Always ignore comments/asks from antis and block them on sight, block anonymous asks too. Even if you really want to sass them, it’s much more effective to ignore them: when you give them attention, it invites more engagement from them.
Block people you get bad vibes from. Block those who like or comment bad takes or support harassment of others, block all of their alt accounts. It’s tedious and takes time, but it really helps to keep you hidden from them, at least to some degree. I look up Shroudcest sometimes just to block new people. They try to make fun of me for that, but who cares if it works? You can’t block everyone, but these people usually flock together and it’s usually just a bunch of friends, so taking several posts on these topics from people from the fandom and blocking everyone involved will obliterate the majority of harassers.
In terms of your safety, having multiple accounts in case you main one gets mass-reported helps + I would advice to keep irl stuff away from your fandom stuff just in case.
This is going to sound stupid, but please keep in mind that this isn’t about you. These people are very miserable and not very smart. Even if they try to paint you like a bad person, they don’t know anything about you, so don’t let their judgment affect how you feel about yourself. This is exactly what they want – to have power over you.
Stay strong and take care of yourself, i.e. lock your acc and/or take a break if you feel overwhelmed. Don’t worry, it will pass: it’s very rare for these clowns to keep focus on one person for a long period of time; they have like 5 different dramas per day. There are some absolutely batshit crazy rapid assholes who won’t leave an artist alone for years, but those are super rare and special cases altogether, I don’t think you need to be worried about those.
Keep in mind which fandom you want to do this with, btw. It’s usually okay for the most part, but if the fandom is just a bunch of kids, it’s more likely not worth it or deserves an empty account, at least. Twst is surprisingly good despite anything it might look like! Thanks to Yana being a shotacon and a creator of Kuroshitsuji, I guess. There are many great and supportive people in the twst fandom, it’s been a pleasure to be here, even though, once again, it’s the first fandom where I got a bunch of callout posts and nasty stuff in my ask (SnK fandom usually harassed me for other things).
TL;DR: it is scary, and you could easily get callout posts about yourself, but guess what, you also get to be yourself. Because realistically, callout posts can’t stop you from creating art. They want you to believe that they have power over you, but this isn’t true. Your life online won’t end after some random callout post – mine didn’t. They also don’t understand that each consequent callout post affects the person being called out even less. We do have a minor panic attack for the first hour or so, and it does involve more extra blocking, but mostly it just sours our mood for the day and drops our morale. I still draw, though, out of spite a little lol Oh, and do try to report these types of posts if you get them, there’s nothing wrong with that.
People had been persecuted for their art and ideas for centuries, so what happens now is really nothing new. Without diving into specifics, there are way worse things they could do than writing callouts, but they aren’t super likely to do those. Luckily.
Take care of yourself, but also please don’t doubt yourself; when it comes to your art being way too fun for lovers of censorship to handle, you’re in a very good company. I’m referring to all the artist and writers of this world btw and not just me and Katsu lol but us as well!

3 times Crowley stops the urge to kiss Azi(1+ when he doesn't)
Fandom: Good Omens
Chapter: 1/4 Next Chapter
Summary:
[Based on my Good Omens Reincarnation AU! This will be a little compilation of ficlets showcasing the different timelines where Crowley and Azi meet. The actual fanfic won't be posted yet as of now.]
Aziraphale asks Crowley for a favor, in return makes him go all PTSD for about a second.
Chapter One ✧ Cleaning with love ✧ Year 2023(Present Time)
“Why in such a hurry, angel?” the man with sunglasses asked, eyeing down the gentleman buttoning up his sleeves in a hurry.
“Oh Crowley love, don’t be down. I promise we’ll have breakfast tomorrow.” With those pleading eyes that his angel uses against him, how could he ever refuse his words? But with a sulk, he just nods.
“By the way Crowley, can you help me at the bookshop later?” Aziraphale asked, fixing his bow tie by the mirror. Crowley just watches him do his daily routine, so serene and quiet.
He hopes to himself that this would last
Rejuvenated by knowing they’ll hang out later, he quickly replies. “Sure, I don’t have anything scheduled today.”
With a smile— Oh how Crowley loves his warm yet mischievous grin, he picks up his messenger bag and gives Crowley a peck as he left.
He agreed to his simple request, it wasn’t a biggie. He can always reschedule his board meeting tomorrow. His angel always comes first. Definitely not because he was clingy. Definitely not.
He touches his cheek, still feeling the fleeting caress of his soft lips. It was a scoop of something he always craved, and now within the boundless time right now– he can enjoy it.
“Cancel our meeting later, I had a sudden appointment.” Crowley says to the phone as he picks out a nice leather jacket.
He wonders what would be urgent that his angel needed his helping hands?
He shuts the closet doors, sprawling the jacket over the bed. “But sir, this is an annual board—”
“Cancel.” He says with finality, not leaving any room to argue. The employee on the other end sighs in resignation.
The call ends with him victorious.
He should probably give him a raise. He notes that in his notes app.
-
Now he’s at the bookshop, holding various dusters and an apron.
“Here, take this as well.” With his signature smile, Aziraphale hands him the broom.
Scam— my angel scammed me. He thought as he arranged the clattered books, stacking them up.
And here he thought–
His thoughts were cut off when he hears a disgruntled yelp.
“Ouch!”
He’d recognise that whine anywhere.
Dropping everything in hand, he quickly runs to Aziraphale’s side with worry plastered on his face. Putting his hand to the side of his face, he questions. “What the matter, angel?”
Aziraphale’s face winced in pain as he rubs his head, saying. “A stray book fell off.”
Crowley looks at the assailant, and notices a lot of books weren’t placed correctly—with some barely even inserted. He also notices how slightly shaky the shelf is.
How old is this thing?
He returns his gaze to Aziraphale, who was still talking.
“The fricking spine directly hit my head—"
But before he could even finish his sentence, it was like the books wanted to fight them because every single book on the shelf started to fall.
Without any thought, Crowley instantly shielded his angel from the books as they descended with such drama, some even pried open mid flight.
Why are these books so heavy!?
It hits him square on his upper back. With a grunt, he tries to flex his arms.
One minute they were dusting the shelves and arranging books, next thing he got Aziraphale pinned between his arms, protecting him from falling books of all things.
What an unlucky day, though– at least he was here and those books didn’t topple his angel.
He realized something.
What if he didn’t came? What if he continued the board meeting? Would he find Aziraphale all bloodied up with a cracked open skull?
He didn’t even want to think about that possibility.
He got reminded yet again of the memories, of times when he let his guard down just for a second.
That could’ve happened now if he wasn’t so absent minded!
Aziraphale, noticing him tremble, asked worriedly. “Crowley– love? Did the books hit you hard?”
He remembers the trembling face of his angel trapped underneath the rubble. He remembers the fire painfully licking his skin, remembers reaching out and clutching pul–
He felt gentle hands cradling his face. Ones so warm and affectionately sweet. Ones that he recognizes.
Snapping back to reality, he makes eye contact with his angel. He also realizes how close their faces are to each other.
“Are you back, my love?” Aziraphale asks.
Slowly, the two faces of the Aziraphale in his memories and his reality merged– reminding him that it was all past.
He stops the urge to kiss him, because right now he has unholy thoughts that he would not like to divulge in this awkward moment.
“Yes, thanks angel.” He says– albeit blushing– as he mirrors him, caressing his face as he lets his forehead touch his.
“Thank you so much.”

The fandom scene is crazy rn actually especially with the canon vs fanon wars I’ve seen popping up over the last few years. I kinda just want to get my thoughts out in a spot to help organise them.
TLDR; people that proclaim fanon info as fact despite not reading a comic are kinda of annoying but people that know canon and get on too much of a high horse can be equally as annoying. Both groups are yelling too loud and it’s making fan space not as fun.
I think it’s important to mention I am a comic reader, I have read a decent amount of comics, in recent years through the DC Universe Infinite app but before that through physical comics and online, so I know relatively well how characters canonically act and what a lot of them have been through. Not to say I’m an expert or that my personal interpretations are strictly right but I know a good chunk of information.
I have seen it a lot more within the DC universe fan spaces, I don’t know if that’s just because I frequent it more or if it has actually been affecting this fandom at a higher rate, but there’s definitely been a noticeable uptick in people complaining about both sides.
There’s a lot of people like me who know the canon and see many many people give incorrect information that is more based in fanon or headcanons than anything real in the comics. This can be kinda irritating when they are saying it loudly over people that know the comics or even when they flat out try to correct people that know better. Not only is it kind of rude but it’s frustrating to see. It probably comes from far bigger world issues we have right now but how this behaviour has spiralled in DC fandom is baffling.
Having said that, I don’t dislike fanon. I think it can be fun when you aren’t proclaiming it as hard truth or cutting into other people speaking about canon. Whether it be in memes, fanfiction, headcanons, or fanart, I don’t think it’s a huge affront to have characters ‘mischaracterised’ or be in a joke that’s emerged solely through fanon. It’s still just people having fun with a piece of media even if it’s in a slightly warped way. People have been doing similar things since the beginning of the fan creation, some have got more severe with it which is annoying but I like to think they aren’t the majority, and that the bulk is just people enjoying themselves.
On the flip-side I’ve also seen a lot of comic readers get what I would consider too up in arms over what are relatively minor transgressions. They will see a piece of media that perhaps leans more fanon than true and loud proclaim ‘this never happened’ ‘they wouldn’t say that’ or ‘you wouldn’t think this if you actually read the comic’ which I think is misguided and also quite rude. A lot of the people also participating in fanon have in fact read some of the comic and are just having fun with the loose idea of the characters or plots - I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Again it’s just people having fun, that’s what fandoms all about.
While I personal know a significant amount of the written canon I can sometimes get down with the fanon as long as they aren’t taking it too seriously. And with the canon in DC at least that is a very flexible thing. I’ve seen people talk about this before and I agree, there’s been so many runs and versions of characters over such a long period that there’s likely a version that might fit the so called ‘mischaracteration’, there’s also layers to interpretation, you might think differently about why a character did something in canon that would contradict someone else’s but neither opinion is necessarily wrong.
The way people view Batman/ Batfam or how they act/characterise the rest of the DC Universe in relation to the Batfam has become especially egregious lately. The back and forth of yelling or downplaying characters has become dizzying. And while it might be annoying when someone makes Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and/or The Flash an extensions of Batman that doesn’t warrant a vile hate comment or a death threat.
Also, perhaps controversially, I don’t think you have to read the comic or watch the media to have fun with fan made things of the fandom and in some fandoms what fans make is actually more enjoyable than the real canon media. It would still be greatly preferable that people read or watched it but starting in a new fandom can be a taster or introduction to the media. I enjoyed the Resident Evil fandom for a couple of months before I had time to play through some of the games and while they were still fun and deeply enjoyable the fanon side of things was a little more fun for me personally. But this has to be taken with a grain of salt because again while the fanon side was fun they could still be a bit annoying with how serious they could take it and on occasion over shadowing the canon.
I think this issue has sprouted from the fact that people are becoming more rigid and less literate about and how things are interacted with in fandom spaces and media from both aspects, there’s far less acceptable wiggle room with how people are allowed to interact and make things. It feels more boxed in than it used to be and people seem to be getting angrier far more easily, which is upsetting to see. The overall fandom experience despite flourishing in it own way also feels more strict. There’s invisible rules that everyone and no one seems to be following, and breaking them gets people ruder than they should be.
I guess I just miss when people were kinder to each other and more willing to have fun online. I think as long as people aren’t doing extreme morally incomprehensible things or affecting people real lives unwarranted then it’s not worth being so scrutinising over.
Anyways I gotta get the bread I’m making out the oven. It’s been nice to jot some thoughts down. With that I leave you with my favourite screenshot I’ve taken from a comic…

Characters in Ace attorney that i believe are aware of fanfiction✨ ( and fandom )
Warning i haven’t played all the games yet, in fact my apollo justice trilogy is crashing every time i try to open it, so all the characters from after aa3 are based on fandom osmosis
Miles Edgeworth - writes Steel Samurai fanfiction on ao3 and has been doing it for some time now (the living embodiment of the ao3 writers curse) would rather die than anyone finding that out tho, doesn’t have a lot of free time so only posts once in like 3-4 months, fics are pretty good and distinct since he writes them with so much formality, so he is relatively popular in some fandom spaces;
Maya Fey- fanfiction reader only, runs an account on Tumblr for Steel Samurai news and fanwork, famous in the fandom and runs a discord server, one of those people that lowkey have their own fandom mostly bc of the insane revelations she drops about her own life from time to time ( “ lmao guys sorry for being absent but i got accused of murder for the 4th time and that really sucked ANYWAYS did you guys look at the leaks for the new reboot… “ ) Shes also way too open about herself on the internet;
Simon Blackquill: Sasuke fan ( derogatory ) also steel samurai fan tho, dont think he goes out the way to read fanfiction ( i think if he did he would read them in fanfiction.net ) but its pretty funny to think hes edgeworths beta reader ( AN: sorry for the delay, unfortunate circumstances came to light that my beta reader was arrested and is now on death roll ) He ran an AMV account on youtube before going to prison;
Trucy Wright: Shes 16 and her only friends are her dads coworkers, she opened wattpad AT LEAST once, probably accidentally read one of those “got sold to one direction (gavinners)” fics and immediately closed the app;
Klavier Gavin: opened wattpad to see what type of fanfiction people were writing about him, he runs a secret fan account and shares fun facts about him and his bandmates as “hcs”, also pretty popular but most people hate him bc they believe his depiction of the gavinners is “too ooc”. He is actually pretty impressed by the quality of most of the works and alludes to their existence constantly in his main on twitter, the fans go insane everytime;
Franziska Von Karma: I don’t believe Franziska is a fanfiction reader nor is she into any fandom, i do however believe she has notifications turned on for Edgeworth’s ao3 account, he doesn’t know that of course, what a foolish fool to think he could hide such a thing from his big sister, she will sometimes quote his work back to him and find amusing seeing him freeze. He thinks its a coincidence because he is too secretive about his hobbies, he’s wrong, she’s been following him online since she was 13, that’s how she knew he wasn’t dead in JFA.
Extras: Phoenix is technologically illiterate, he couldn’t read fanfiction even if he wanted to. Apollo is way too normal for that, he has the law autism not the fandom one. Athena knows of fanfiction bc she is young and in the internet but she wasn’t very interested in it. If you ask Gumshoe about fanfiction he would give you a smile and say “Of course im a Fan of Fiction Pal!”. I do believe Pearl has wattpad but only reads original works on there, so in my opinion she doesn’t count.
Im sorry for any spelling mistakes, english is not my first language

hello! This is to lay out how this fandom event will work. Through followers' votes, contestants will earn awards based on their own unique posting material. There will be different categories including some of the more fun and silly polls, one being Who’s Most Likely with fandom-based questions.
As long as the results match, each contestant will be able to get at least three of those. Awards will not repeat, there is not more than one winner for one poll. When you win you know you are the true Queen of that category
Tumblr media
the biggest prizes to get will be the Queenstrial Awards. These will be the more “Competition” based categories instead of fun. Not that you will have to compete, but they are the center of the event. Each contestant should get no more than two.
