Sigh...I miss Herbert. He rarely comes out anymore!
I guess he's still pretty devastated about his planet being destroyed...
I told him - gracious as I am - that he could stay with me, but he said he didn't belong anywhere now ...
This isn't the Herbert I know and love!!

Its crazy how realistically (the fake) Professor Avalon grooms the fairies at alfea, Bloom especially (Not sexually but you can easily interpret it that way). The moment when it was revealed that he was actually the fake professor and Musa goes "But hes been so nice! How could he be the fake one :(". The way they break down how he relied on building up trust in the girls.
You can also say that Tecna suspecting Avalon to be evil,,, solely based off a (fake and comedic) story/myth that pointed out the traits The Bad One """will""" have. Similar to how people pin physical and personality stereotypes on what an abuser should be. And how accusing people based off of them is wrong (I mean. She wassssss right but not for the right reasons)

Herbert, baby...you have no idea how many old photos I have...ESPECIALLY of this era. Your dark hair era was one of my favorites.
I look at old photos of the three of us all the time, if I'm being really honest...
When nothing's going on, and we all have room to chill out after dealing with the next biggest evil...I find myself reminiscing on days long gone.
And pictures like these bring back all those memories that seeped through the cracks!!
I remember heads turned when you dyed your hair black! Eheheh...
I don't remember why but I doodled a gothic-inspired Herbert... 🦇

okkkkkk the details about wyrneck (woodwose's predecessor and previous leader of the fang clan) from nasu's blog are heartbreaking and also make me even more insane about morgan and woodwose:
1000 B.C. A Returned A-Ray is born among the Fang Clan - Wryneck the Brave, inheritor of organs of the waste heat of the planet. 800 B.C. Tonelico fights and triumphs over Waste Heat Lord Wryneck. They become fast friends. Henceforth, Wryneck does not accompany Tonelico on her adventures due to his position as the Chief of the Fang Clan, but does everything he can to help her from behind the scenes. He rationalizes it as, "I can never accept the mission of the Fairy of Paradise, but I'm fond of Tonelico's strength." (To Ector, his feelings are as clear as day) 400 B.C. The fabled Arbitration, one day before the coronation at Londinium. In attendance are Uther, Tonelico, Ector, Grimm, and the First Fairy Knight. Wryneck can't stand Uther (for obvious reasons) and refuses to attend the coronation. Instead, he goes off to hunt Mors on the western coast. "But… even if I send a delegate, it would be poor form if the Fang Lord didn't show up, wouldn't it…" On the dawn of Coronation Day, Wryneck reluctantly makes up his mind to return to Londinium. Everything is over by the time he arrives. Politics prevent Wryneck from defending Tonelico as all of the fairies accuse her. Wryneck comes to agonize over his decision for the rest of his life into the Queen's Era. "Maybe if I had been there, things would have been different… …No. Nothing would have changed. Nothing at all. I, a fairy of Britain, could never have saved Tonelico." 1000 A.D. The Great Calamity, the Mors Campaign, begins. Aged Wryneck takes to the battlefield, his resolve grim. "Begone, King of the Mors. This is her nation, the land she suffered so much to build. I'll never let you take it from her." So falls the greatest of the Fang Clan, clearing the way for the next generation.
in a way woodwose is the echo of wyrenck's love and loyalty to morgan/aesc and it gives me feelings about what morgan would have felt looking at woodwose and also remembering wyrneck. it also imo makes her line "young woodwose, my brave woodwose," that much more meaningful; his predecessor was one of her closest friends and allies, who, despite the way things ended, loved her to the bitter end

Some casual Berial slander.

Meep and I being down bad for the bunnyman.

what would val and etch think of a tv show about an adhd ridden guy who pretends to be a psychic (he’s actually just hyper observant to a freakish degree with an eidetic memory) to solve cases for the police with his best friend since childhood (they’re inseparable) (this is psych propaganda btw you should watch psych)
now onto non psych propaganda topics. videogames (and if they like playing what games would they play). what about dinosaurs. noise cancelling headphones. do they do anything creative. what songs do they like. favourite genres. uhhhh struggles to think of more things….. let’s go with that. enjoy :3
HELPPP nice psych propaganda <3 i think both of them would get so invested in a show like that. etch would probably self-identify with the "psychic" guy so hard lmao. val would be there because she likes the pacing of cop/medical shows of that kind (speaking of which she would definitely watch house). as for the other things!
video games: val would get into sdv or slime rancher to "destress" and it works for awhile but she ends up getting really into them and Micromanaging Things . the games that actually help her destress are mostly games like portal and papers, please where she has to think a little which sounds. counterintuitive but trust me it works for her especially since both of them also have Story for her to get invested in. etch mostly plays video games to fuck around so it quite likes gmod, tf2 and those silly roblox roleplay sims which have like max 6 people on them at any given hour. they both play don't starve together btw and val (playing as wendy) immediately gets to collecting supplies while etch (playing as willow) runs around hitting things
dinosaurs: val is mostly ambivalent on dinosaurs but she had a dino plushie as a kid (she named it benny. btw) which she refused to let go of and she still owns it to this day. etch thinks they're cool as fuck!!
noise-cancelling headphones: val first gets these in her 20s or something and gets so mad because crowded places have ALWAYS made her super overstimulated and she never was able to block it out until now. etch has probably been using them since she was an edgy middle schooler
anything creative: hmm. well i think val probably took drum classes as a kid but it never really went anywhere beyond that. other than that she Writes!!! she loooves writing it's been her number one emotional outlet for forever. she definitely is a decently well-known writer in whatever fandoms she's in lmao. etch i somehow feel like would be really into pottery and ceramics, she makes little charms for his friends all the time. he also probably makes music using those online composer sites when he's bored
songs: avalon's music taste can be chalked up to "wistfully staring out the car window on a rainy drive home". if that makes sense. her favorite song is either this year by the mountain goats or starstruck by the scary jokes. etch's music taste is more fast-paced and energetic; its favorite song is definitely butcher vanity by vane lily (which says nothing about him). i couldn't tell you about genres i know So little about how to differentiate those myself
anyways thank you art for giving me this massive opportunity to assign random ass traits to these two 😭

The Fae of the British Lostbelt
This is gonna be a long one, so strap in.
The fae and other creatures of the British Lostbelt take heavy inspiration from real-life legends; almost every major character is named after a type of fairy or mystical creature from British folklore. Many of these names are not English; I've added a pronunciation guide for these in brackets after the word. In this post, I'll go over the beings and concepts these characters are named for and compare the legend to the original. This won't include Morgan or Oberon; those figures are complex enough to deserve posts of their own.
Aesc [ASH]
Aesc is more accurately spelled Æsc. It's an Old English word for the ash tree, and also doubles as the word for the rune for the letter Æ. This is pretty much a direct translation into Old English of Aesc's Japanese name, Tonelico (トネリコ), a word meaning "ash tree".
Albion
Albion is a poetic name for the island of Britain, from Greek Albiōn (Ἀλβίων), the name used by classical geographers to describe an island believed to be Britain. The name probably means "white place", which is how it's connected to the Albion of Fate. The Albion of Fate is the White Dragon, a symbol of the Saxons from a Welsh legend. In the most well-known version of the legend, the King of the Britons at the time, Vortigern, was trying to build a castle on top of a hill in Wales to defend against the invading Saxons, but everything he tried to build collapsed. He was told by his court wizard to find a young boy with no father and sacrifice him atop the hill to alleviate the curse. He sent his soldiers out and found a boy being teased for being fatherless, but when he brought the boy to the hill, the boy, a young Merlin, told him that his court wizard was a fool and that the real reason for the collapsing castle was two dragons inside the hill, one red and one white, locked in battle. The red dragon represented the Britons, and the white dragon represented the Saxons. Merlin told Vortigern that nothing could be built on the hill until the red dragon killed the white one. A red dragon is the symbol of Wales to this day, and a white dragon is occasionally used in Welsh poetry to negatively represent England. This white dragon is Albion in Type/Moon lore.
Baobhan Sìth [bah-VAHN shee]
A baobhan sìth is a female fairy in Scottish folklore. The name literally means "fairy woman" in Scottish Gaelic. They appear as a beautiful woman and seduce hunters traveling late at night so that they can kill and eat them, or drink their blood depending on the story. They're unrelated to banshees except in terms of etymology (Banshee is from Old Irish "ben síde", meaning the same thing as baobhan sìth). They're often depicted with deer hooves instead of feet, which is probably what inspired Baobhan Sìth's love of shoes.
Barghest
In the folklore of Northern England, a barghest is a monstrous black dog with fiery eyes teeth and claws the size of a bear's. The name probably derives from "burh-ghest", or "town-ghost". It was often said to appear as an omen of death, and was followed by the sound of rattling chains. The rattling chains probably inspired Barghest's chains. Her fire powers are also obviously based on the fiery eyes of the barghest. Otherwise, she's not very connected to the folkloric barghest, which is never associated with hunger or eating humans.
Boggart
In English folklore, a boggart is either a malevolent household spirit or a malevolent creature inhabiting a field, a marsh, a hill, a forest clearing, etc. The term is related to the terms bugbear and bogeyman, all originally from Middle English bugge, or possibly Welsh bwg [BOOG] or bwca [BOO-cuh], all words for a goblin-like monster. It usually resembled a satyr. It's not really ever depicted with lion features, so it's anyone's guess why Boggart is a lion-man.
Cernunnos [ker-NOON-ahs]
Cernunnos, probably meaning "horned one", was an important pre-Roman Celtic god. His existence is only attested by fragmentary inscriptions and the repeated motif in Celtic religious art of a "horned god", a humanoid figure with deer antlers seated cross-legged. This fragmentary evidence is often led to assume that Cernunnos was a god of nature, wilderness, animals and fertility. There exists no evidence that Cernunnos was a chief deity of any kind, since we have barely any evidence he existed at all in the first place. Cernunnos might not even be his name; it's just the only name we have. Needless to say, the only thing the Cernunnos in the British Lostbelt has in common with the real figure is his large antlers.
Cnoc na Riabh [kuh-nock-nuh-REE-uh]
Cnoc na Riabh, Knocknarea in English, is a hill in Sligo in Ireland. The name means "hill of the stripes", referring to its striking limestone cliffs. It's said to be the location where Medb's tomb lies, so it's connected to Cnoc na Riabh through Fate's conflation of Medb with Queen Mab, a fairy mentioned in Romeo and Juliet; this etymology of Mab as derived from Medb was formerly accepted, but has lost favour with the advent of modern Celtic studies due to the lack of any concrete connection between the two figures.
Grímr (don't know how to say this one, apologies; Germanic myth is not my strong suit)
Odin (Wōden in Old English) was a god worshiped in many places, basically anywhere the Germanic peoples went, including the Anglo-Saxons that became today's English people. As such a widely worshiped god, he had a very large number of names, titles and epithets. Grímr is one such name, literally meaning "mask", referring to Odin's frequent usage of disguises in myths, which is fitting for how Cú disguised himself as a faerie in the British Lostbelt and hid that he possessed Odin's Divinity from Chaldea.
Habetrot
Habetrot is a figure from Northern England and the Scottish Lowlands, depicted as a disfigured elderly woman who sewed for a living and lived underground with other disfigured spinsters. She often spun wedding gowns for brides. Cloth spun by her was said to have curative and apotropaic properties. All the Habetrot of the British Lostbelt has in common with this figure is the association with brides and with spinning cloth. "Totorot" is not a real figure; the name is just an obvious tweak of Habetrot.
Mélusine
Mélusine is a figure that appears in folklore all across Europe. The name probably derives from Latin "melus", meaning "pleasant". She's a female spirit of water with the body of a beautiful woman from the waist up, and the body of a serpent or a fish from the waist down. In most stories, she falls in love with a human man and bears his children, using magic to conceal her inhuman nature. However, she tells her lover he must never look upon her when she is bathing or giving birth. Of course, he invariably does so, and when he does, he discovers her serpentine lower body, and she leaves, taking their children with her. Since Mélusine is just the name Aurora gave her, the Mélusine of the British Lostbelt has very little to do with this figure, but an analogy can be drawn between the Mélusine of folklore hiding her true form as a half-serpent to maintain her relationship with her lover, and Fate's Mélusine suppressing her true form as both a dragon and an undifferentiated mass of cells to ensure Aurora continues to love her.
Muryan [MUR-yan]
A muryan is a rather obscure Cornish fairy. The word is Cornish for "ant". Muryans are diminutive figures with shapechanging abilities, cursed to grow smaller every time they use those abilities until they eventually vanish altogether. Muryan, of course, is connected to muryans through her ability to shrink others.
Spriggan [SPRID-jan]
A spriggan is a type of creature in Cornish folklore. The word is derived from the Cornish word "spyryjyon" [same pronunciation], the plural of "spyrys", meaning "fairy". They're usually grotesque old men with incredible strength and incredibly malicious dispositions, and are often depicted guarding buried treasure. Spriggan is not himself a faerie, and the name is stolen from a faerie he killed, but it's still appropriate due to the greed and selfishness spriggans are usually depicted with.
Woodwose
Woodwose is a Middle English term for the wild man, a motif in European art comparable to the satyr or faun. The etymology is unclear. It has little to do with wolves or animals, despite its association with wildness, but there is at least a thematic connection with Woodwose's character, since the archetype of the wild man depicts a figure who cannot be civilised or well-mannered no matter how hard he tries, much like how Woodwose barely restrains his temper by being a vegetarian and dressing in a fine suit. Woodwose's predecessor, Wryneck, is named for a type of woodpecker with the ability to rotate its neck almost 180°.

Where were you when the Hoard struck? Did you ever manage to find Sirius? If so, can you give us an update on his condition?
Me and the rest of the Alliance were on vacation!
We figured we deserved a little treat after dealing with all the stress of, you know, saving the world and having our domains be ravaged by the radioactive maws of that foul beast...
So we all went on a nice trip to the beach! (I love the beach, you know.)
This was, of course, after we got everything settled, and after Herbert managed to reclaim his sweet Holly. We invited Sackboy, too, but for one reason or another, they couldn't come. Either he was busy, or Larry just forgot to invite him - I'm not sure! I wasn't handling the invitations.
We, of course, realized the horrors that had occured once the valiant heroes came home...
I guess we were too cocky, thinking the danter was all dealt with so soon. Fixing the damage the Hoard made wasn't too bad though - just annoying.
As for where my funky brother from another mother Sirius was, well...it took me a bit to find him.
Being a robot, he had coordinates we could track, but they were all over the place! He kept popping up this way and that way on the radars...until, finally, I found him scattered and damaged in the Metropolis.
He had a few bits missing. We needed to get those replaced, and of course, deal with whatever data corruption that Wormhole caused.
He's fine now - just a little wonky. Though I really hope something like that doesn't happen again!
#i'll be honest - i feared the worst when it came to Sirius...#and - admittedly - I felt...guilt that I hadn't been there.#i keep wondering - had I been there...maybe I could have prevented it from happening. or maybe I'd get warped away myself?#and if the worst really did happen...well...I wouldn't know what I would have done.#i try not to think about it though! Oh, sugar - that's exactly how I felt at uni, too.
Granted, I was still one of the best! But no one ever tells you being the best at academics means giving up all your freedom in favor of...
Projects. And more projects. And extracurriculars, and a bunch of mumbo-jumbo you agree to just cuz it sounds like it could help you later on!
Eugh, and AP classes. Don't forget AP classes.
That's why I started going out a bunch!
And sure, I had to pull all-nighters way more often than I'd like to admit...but I still did it!
Your old man and Clive actually got to live a little away from their textbooks thanks to me, too!
So my advice is...don't forget you need to have a life AWAY from academics, too, sweetheart!
Wow...human school is hard...I can't believe people do this five days of the week - excluding holidays - for 12 years :((
Father has allowed me the honor of going to college! He said my programming has all the knowledge I need - especially from all the supplemental tutoring he gave me - but that I may go for a year to, as he says, "test the waters".
I am meeting so many people! It is very lovely and fun at times. But it is very hard to keep up with demands :((
If it is this hard for a robot, I imagine it must be even harder for humans to deal with...
This is why I have been offline for so long, my dearest followers. Admittedly, my 'winter break' had started a week ago, but my systems are still rebooting and refreshing from the mounted-on stress.
I wish the best luck to any of you who may still be in school! ☆
And please know...you are not stupid :( we are simply not made to function in such conditions.

Started watching Gargoyles a couple nights ago and it’s been excellent so far but we’ve made it to the “world tour” arc post-Avalon and I’m not gonna lie it’s been rough
I heard it gets better especially for the finale of s2 but I’m not encouraged by what I’ve heard about s3…is it worth watching at all??
#s1 and s2 (thru Avalon) have been INCREDIBLE so far tho#gargoyles#disney gargoyles#my post#ramblings#except I’m not fond of Angela…I don’t like the trope of ‘dad finds out about a secret daughter and has paternal feelings now suddenly’#Gilmore girls did that trope and I hated it

Possible TW: mention of grooming
I don't like Bloom, but to the people (especially fellow Bloom dislikers) who claim that her getting groomed by fake Avalon was her fault, I hope you know how disgusting you are. Blaming the victim for the other person's actions is not okay at all. I would also like to add that I'm sick and tired of seeing people (mostly on tiktok) romanticize it too.

Sending a thing about your sillies, specifically a question I got about my own silly recently; what are Val and Etch's favorite ice cream flavors?
OOOO GOOD QUESTION :3 i feel like avalon really loves ice cream sandwiches and mnm ice cream (just. vanilla ice cream with mnms in it) because they remind her of when she was little and used to have them all the time and she is veeery prone to nostalgia... etch on the other hand really likes hazelnut ice cream and also probably raspberry sorbet popsicles, not just because they taste good but also because. they look kind of like blood and there is nothing etch likes more than looking like it just ripped someone to shreds with its teeth
#he makes a mess of them on purpose for sure#that or she straightup melts it down and chugs it off of like a plate so it gets everywhere#cannot stress enough that it would not do this if it were literally any other color lmao. she is Normal with hazelnut ice cream#meanwhile: val chilling in the corner with her fuckin ice cream sandwich watching him with increasing fascination#asks#ferret rambles#friend tag#my ocs#avalon#rosette
