I’m trying to complete the mastery challenges in Assassins Creed Valhalla. I have gold in literally every challenge except the one where you must exclusively aerially assassinate the targets and the most vexing part is that I’d have beaten it several times if the fucking game mechanics worked.

So for instance if I put two enemies to sleep but they’re too close to each other I cannot assassinate either of them. And if for instance one enemy is asleep and another is standing over the prone body I just need Eivor to target the one who’s not unconscious but this is asking too much and twice I attacked only for the alert enemy to move and for Eivor to launch herself at the sleeping enemy, blowing my cover.

Which is how I came to be quietly hissing at my TV at 10pm saying “Eivor you absolute doorknob,” trying to get her to target the right fucking man.

What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.

For a couple of years now, I've used a modified skin to suppress Kudos and Hit counts from my views of AO3. The comparison is bad for me, so I hide it. Last January, I added the colors and background image from memorizingdigitsofpis (I came across it here on Tumblr and modified it.)

When I see Pav's design I see a guy who really does not care about his rank or appearances (other than the boots rant towards Levi, but I personally like to think that's him showing some amount of concern towards a younger soldier, or to annoy him like the other character exclusive interactions in an attempt to distance himself from your party). Pav's shirt and coat are unbottoned down to the point where they don't even look like they fit him, his chest and and his bullet scars are exposed, he has unkempt hair, and seemingly has a very casual/sloppy posture which implies a lack of respect for the army he's supposedly been indoctrinated in. This contrasts with the image of how most soldiers are expected to be disciplined - to be orderly, clean cut, and tidy, especially higher ranking ones when displaying rank/status. Overall, Pav comes off as messy and possibly not even in his right mind from the beginning. When considering his true purpose for being in Prehevil is to kill the Kaiser, He's practically on a suicide mission.

And this can be further backed up by his attitude towards failing to kill the Kaiser, being saved, and taken to the train. What was the point of joining the same army that killed your village, rising up the ranks through whatever horrible means you had to go through and very possibly willing to do onto others what was done to you in order to get close enough to the man that you deam responsible for everything that has gone wrong in the world, only to find out that he was a indestructible monster beyond your powers? After that, it's either start from square one again, wait to die, or live your life on the run from everyone. Pav had kept a facade for possibly most of his life up until that moment, but as soon as he's cut down the mask breaks apart and he breaks down in train mad at you for giving him a few more moments of life.

To summarize, I'm intrigued by Pav's portrait because it gives us that hint on what kind for person he really is underneath the Bremen "disguise". He can't wait tear the damn thing off himself.

Is he a Bremen pig? Probably not. Is he still a pig? Yes. Or... rather something more feral hiding in the styes that he's trapped himself in, waiting to start a rampage in until he's put down himself. (Hmm. I wonder if that's would actually be a good Moonscorched idea?)

I just went back and looked at my other Dazai realism drawing I made back in august, and seeing it up against my most recent drawing.. it don't compare anymore lol-

Like-???? The improvement is crazy! Especially considering I very rarely work in realism style. the first drawing literally took around 9 hours and the second one only took 2 and a half lol (the first drawing is much bigger tho so that's probably why- I just zoomed it in to the face for better comparison)

If this vacation bit falls thru completely (it's an absolute rollercoaster of hope/crushed hope/hope again rn) then I really need to get a new phone. It works fine for weekday usage, because my stand at work is its charger, but days off where I'm using it then either pocketing it or setting it next to me just drains the battery SO FAST. And if I try to use the camera, or watch videos, or hell even listen to music with the screen off? It dies even faster. And since I have to use wired buds at work now (I can't hear thru wireless ones for some reason, so I miss if my desk phone rings, etc) that just means the battery dies before it's time to drive home.

if the vacation DOES happen, then whatever, I don't need to take pics at Disney world, except for Galaxy's Edge, because it'll be my fourth trip overall AND my second trip at Christmas, so there won't be anything else I NEED pics of. And yeah, I'll still be on Tumblr throughout the day even at Disney world, but it wouldn't be like how it is when I'm home so the battery should be mostly idle and a non-issue. Plus I could keep the charger in my bag and plug it into a wall while I eat if I had to.

Whether a phone replacement is in the future or not, tho, I'm going to start comparison shopping so that when the decision to replace does come down I can immediately order whatever I've researched or its current equivalent at that time. My guess upfront is that it'll be whatever "a" series version of the pixels is current at the time, because I'm adamant about having Google's android and not an OEM (I've never met an OEM I liked). And while I like having the regular (not xl) version of each model, I recognize that price is going to be a factor so I'll probably downgrade the series.

Also, if no vacation, I'm not only getting the phone but I'm getting more art and continuing my loaded teas even at their ridiculous pricing. I'll give stuff like that up for vacation saving, but if I'm not getting a trip out of it then I'm going to at least get all of my small luxuries.

I was reading manga cause I'm in the car for like an hour and I noticed something-

Ngl, despite my apprehension (i.e. I'm old and cynical), I'm interested to see what they do with the Red, White & Royal Blue sequel partly since I know in the book bonus chapter, Henry gives up his title - I haven't actually read it so idk if he's actually described as 'abdicating' or fandom just decided to use that term (which is not exactly correct).

But the book lacks a lot of accuracy around the British Royal family where as the movie put in a bit more effort (e.g. Henry's Mum being Duchess of Edinburgh not Princess of Wales) and since in the United Kingdom, Henry can't step out of the line of succession without an Act of Parliament which isn't an insignificant thing, I wonder if the movie will focus on that or if it will gloss over it or just go in a brand new direction entirely for a new audience who aren't familiar with the book.

Personally, I hope for the latter partially because the parallels to certain real life royals would get distracting but mostly because I'd love to see Henry use the position he once felt suffocated by to advocate for and empower others.

Though being honest, I'm mostly just hoping they don't fall into the romance sequel trope of breaking them up to get them back together again.

To be clear though, in real life I think the entire monarchy should be abolished - but in this gay little movie world I have other thoughts :)
