"Have I ever told you how much I love this new direction you're going," Jason rumbles groggily. He must have woken up when Tim got out of bed again. "Only a million times," Tim says, laughter in his voice. Jason scoots over towards Tim, still laying on his stomach hickies covering his broad shoulder. Mocking Tim who has to go into the office today. "Well I'll say it a million more. I love this direction you're going with Tim Drake's looks," Jason says more clearly, the sleep in his voice crackling away. "You mean unshaven hobo?" Tim teases. He won't lie, he loves the amount of free time he has now that he isn't shaving every day for Robin duties. After all Robin can't look like he's a man in his 20s, even Dick didn't stay Robin as long as Tim did and he was the one who showed Tim the place he gets waxed. But now that he doesn't have to keep a close eye on his stubble, or worry about chest or shoulder hair peeking out of his tunic or god forbid accidentally ripping hair off with his suit like Dick risks, he can do other things. Like sleep. Or have sex with his boyfriend. "Only the sexiest unshaven hobo Timbo," Jason says with a wry grin and a leer. Honestly it's just some body hair, they all have it, but Jason's been insatiable since Tim stopped waxing. Tim has the bite marks on him to prove it. He leans down onto the dresser, work shirt still unbuttoned and leaving his entire torso bared, if he has to suffer than so does Jason. "Why don't you stay in bed? You can't tell me you'd rather go to a meeting full of rich fucks instead of fucking all day here." "But then how would we afford this nice loft?" Tim asks innocently. "We both know we could live off my income for the rest of our lives Tim," Jason says matter of factly. "How about it? Make Bruce actually do his job and quit, be every 20 something year old's dream and be a trophy husband." "I'm not living off your gang money Jason," Tim sighs

Jason gives Tim an incredulous look. "What? No. That money goes straight back into Crime Alley, you know that." No he doesn't. "Wait, then how do you afford all that gear?" Tim accuses. "With my job." What fucking job. "What fucking job Jason?" Oh shit that was supposed to be an inside thought. "Wayne tech? R&D? Ring a bell?" "You bought out r&d years ago! We got your identity and froze it and everything, it's under a group of shareholders now," Tim said confused before his voice started getting slightly hysterical, like it knew that something was about to come up. Jason gives an awkward look, grimacing before beginning to speak. "Yeah, Tim, those guys are all still me." What. "Yeah, they're all aliases, like really obvious ones too. I just thought you guys knew?" Jason trailed off awkwardly. Tim can't fucking believe this. "Jacobo Caballero?" "Yeah that's me." "Sanjay Raktah?" "Jay is right in the name there Tim," Jason explains. "Jane Tho—" Tim doesn't even finish that one, it's obvious in hindsight. "Yeah, and Will Beauregard, Corrin Brandt, Kathleen Coppola and Simon de la Cruz," Jason admitted with a wince. All of them. All seven members of the board…are Jason. "What the fuck Jason."

I don’t have a lot of clear, defined ideas for the set up (I find casefics so hard to conceptualize for some reason???? Sigh.) But. I have a few thoughts— first, I don’t want them going undercover together to have been the original plan. Second, I kind of want to have originally been Jason’s case? Bc I kind of want there to be an opening thread of like. Jason’s such a planner that having his plans over turned is always upsetting for him—he’s adaptable, it rarely ever affects his actual work, but he still gets grumpy about it :/ So him reaching out for Tim’s help isn’t like. A Big Deal but it isn’t Not a Deal at all, you know? Like it means something that he’s asking Tim to come in for… SO many reasons.

Alternatively I suppose it could be something they were assigned to do by Bruce or Babs or asked to do by Steph, even, ‘cause it’s someone else’s case & they need intel but also more freedom to do stuff?? I dunnoooo. ALSO thinking that maybe Tim & Jason are the obv choice for such an assignment bc Jason is still legally dead & doesn’t have much of a civilian life that anyone knows about, and Tim is no longer involved with WE or doesn’t have to do much with the company so his free time is also… very open.

I’m also torn on like. WHERE I would want them to be. In a Gotham suburb? Or outside of Gotham completely? Like, say, Metropolis? There’s something appealing about the latter bc like. They’re already undercover, posing as different people, but NOW they’re also someWHERE else so it feels even more like this is a distant dream they can never have. However, if it’s in Gotham you could have that underlying “we could have been this if life had been different.” (You can kind of get that with the former too, but.)

Also thinking that as much as I love the gendefuckery of crossdressing / going undercover as a woman, AND as much as I love the idea of genderqueer/fluid/trans Tim, I want them to be going undercover as an MM couple? (Although, now I’m thinking about a similar situation where Tim, who doesn’t oft explore the femme side of himself in depth, actually would get to… hm.) ANYWAY. But yeah for this one, they’re going undercover as husband & husband.

Tim’s undercover persona… I’m split between something with tech or working as a mechanic. (Hush.) Jason… hmm. College TA or going for a college degree, so he’s mostly the stay at home/house husband type. Or maybe one or both of them should have a career that calls for traveling a lot?? Hm.

Both of them expect themselves and/or the other to kind of struggle with it. For multiple reasons! The first being that they have feelings for the other—there’s a part of me that actually wants to make one of them (probably Tim) oblivious to their own feelings until a week or so into the charade & have a sudden realization? But also I like the idea of both of them going into it knowing that they like each other and resolving not to let it affect things. They both also expect to miss vigilante work, because while they’re able to go out occasionally it’s not like either of them are used to.

And while it’s definitely difficult to find things to occupy their time with at first… it’s not as hard as they expect.

Thinking they adopt an animal fairly early on (thinking it should be a stray they start feeding & fall in love w). I’m leaning hard on the idea of a cat but a dog could be fun too lmao. There’s a lot of joking arguments about post-case custody but then those peter off as they start letting their roles bleed over into their lives.

And then. The case ends. They get the intel they needed, bust the operation, and it’s time for Tim & Jason to quietly pack up and leave.

Thinking the last couple of days they spend as their fake identities are awkward. They can’t find the ease they had before because they know they’re about to leave, so when they’re not actively performing for their neighbors… they’re more withdrawn.

And then they both go to their separate homes. Thinking Jason got primary custody of their dog or cat? But I could be convinced for Tim as well. Anyway. Both of them feel a little hollow; like they’re missing something. They cant stop thinking about their life together, how *real* it felt & how much they miss waking up to the other. How much they miss even the idiosyncrasies they used to argue over. (Even if at least half of those idiosyncrasies were made up for the persona. They still know each other well enough to know which ones were real and which were fake… & they find themselves wondering which parts of their private lives they left out, good and bad, what living together would *really* be like.)

Eventually one of them makes an excuse to go see the other—to check in on the cat/dog, obviously. And maybe there’s an awkward invitation to keep visiting, and a sort of. Ambiguous/open ending with an obvious/hopeful slant for them to be a couple in the future.

And then maybe an epilogue / one shot sequel set a few months in the future with a look at their established life <3333

RIP) but Tim is obviously Bruce's newest, shiniest hire and after Jason came back from medical leave (motorcycle accidents suuuuuuck) he's extremely miffed to see what's been changed in his absence

Real conflict would take place when one of Tim's star players tries out for the school play and gets the lead role because Jason can see that this kid has talent AND THEY NEED THAT. (Drake is, unfortunately, correct; if they can take their production of Chicago to the National Drama Festival, then maybe they'll get the support they need to reinstate the drama program. Or whatever. UGH) Tim is pissed because this kid has a shot at playing professionally and this could fuck his chances if he's not giving his A-game during championships this year. Cue no longer passive but rather outright aggressive arguments between Mr. Todd and Mr. Drake BOILING with sexual tension while, idk who, Jon Kent probably Does His Best to be a teenager lmao

(BONUS FUN FACT: they 100% fuck in their hotel at Dramafest, because of course the drama club made it, and of course Mr. Drake came along. To support his student, obviously. baby imma show you how it's done was written in under six-ish hours. my wonderful friend aray had asked for jaytim smut where they're having so much fun, and that's exactly what it is - 2k of banter, laughter, and jason / tim trying to one up each other in bed.

i don't think i could choose just one. batman was my return to writing after years of burnout and exhaustion and just not being happy with anything i was doing creatively. but i'm so proud of all the silly stories i've shared with you guys this year, so i'll share the excerpt / summary from my jaytim longfic, darkroom:

"Your hair's black." Tim's the one to break the silence. Jason shrugs. "Went on an undercover gig. The black and white skunk 'do isn't exactly subtle." Later, Tim knows Jason will blame it all on the alcohol—but when he leans in close with a half-lidded gaze, when he reaches up to tug at Jason's bangs where the lock of white should fall into his eyes… he also knows neither of them will be able to lie to himself. "What the hell are you doing?" Jason says sharply. "I like the way it usually looks. The white in your hair," Tim replies, voice thick. Jason's on his feet in an instant, warmth gone, leaving only anger. "You think you can say that shit like you know me? Like you like me?" "You're right. I don't know you." And yet you consume me, stays unsaid between them.

Jason doesn't know what he wants but never stops trying; Tim attempts to deal with his baggage (and fails spectacularly at it). It's no simple feat, finding where they stand with the family—so maybe they should figure out where they stand with each other, first.

Azul was tending to the monstro lounge reports when he felt something... off.

Dropping the intricate fishbone pen, he listened to the normally bustling hallway full of chatter and dishes clanking.

"(Name) darling," he called, still looking down at the current equation for calculating how much inventory he'd need for the upcoming month.

Silence.

He peeked up to see no one in the VIP room.

You left.

You left him.

He quickly strided out of the lounge towards the kitchen.

The servers and cooks, enslaved by golden contracts, were still diligently working, stressed out, trying to fulfill the orders as they should.

But you weren't there.

His mind was racing as he began his journey to the lounge, where the loud sounds of customers chatting were heard.

The dim, soft, deep violet lights shone down on him as he scanned the restaurant.

But searching amongst the different dorm uniforms and students, you weren't there. His pearl.

But his red herring was seen when he saw the ramshackle prefects annoying talking beast sitting at the bar across from Floyd, who had an extremely annoyed expression as the small gluttonous vermit shoveled desert after desert into his small mouth.

That thing never came to the lounge.

A few seconds later, he saw your other annoying friend with his red hair bouncing up and down as he shook hands with Floyd, having an unheard discussion away from Earshot.

His competition.

He scowled, but he did notice your friend seemed extremely nervous, fidgeting, looking around the packed lounge.

Azul's eyes met your red-haired friend's, causing him to freeze in place.

He only shifted before looking uncomfortablely towards a corner of the room.

Azul followed where he was looking but could only see your hair swaying as you ran on shaky legs towards the exit to the lounge.

Your friend, realizing what he had done, only looked in worry as he ran towards the exit after you, grabbing your direbeast by the neck to its annoyance.

Azul only ran like his life depended on it as he tried to dodge the busy lounge goers in the way.

A few looked up in confusion as Azul passed by.

He suddenly ran into the chest of your tall beastman friend.

"Watch where you're going," Azul spat before trying to bypass him.

He only felt the rough hands of the beastman grab the back of his neck, slightly lifting him up.

"You watch where you're going," he growled before tossing him back towards the floor.

"Get out of my way, or I'll have you escorted out of my establishment," Azul pointed with his cane at the beastman. "I don't allow dogs in this establishment anyway," he sneered.

"Eh might as well; she should be in the mirror by now." Jack smiled down at Azul.

With anger, Azul only pushed past the beastman, causing him to growl as Azul ran down to the hallway of Octavinelle.

It felt like the hallways took forever as he finally reached the exit to Octavinelle.

You weren't anywhere near the exit, causing Azul's heart to sink. You had somehow gotten further than the last time you ran, he recalls, when he caught you late at night trying to use the exit mirror in the hall of mirrors.

He remembered grabbing your seaweed binds and taking you back to the empty dorm room you were being held in.

You were heartbroken as he led you back to your room. He knew it wasn't ideal, but he knew if he left you in his room every day, you'd be found immediately by the nosy friends you had.

It was already hard trying to get you to sign the contract to bind yourself to him; he didn't need anymore problems.

Stepping out of the mirror, he was still met with no sign of you or your annoying friends waiting outside the mirror.

"O-ow"

Azul's ears perked up at the sound of your wounded voice.

"Ah, just as I suspected, someone's been lying."

Jade approached from the heartslabyul mirror a few meters away. You dangled defeated in his arms with torn and tattered clothes, your knees, hands, and wrists with small cerated cuts on you.

Your head dangled down in defeat as Jade held your body in his arms.

"What the hell happened to her?" Azul scolded Jade.

"She's not mute; she can tell you herself what she did." Jade smiled, holding you up to present to Azul.

You only quivered, shaking in Jade's grasp, looking down pathetically.

"Where were you (name)?" Azul snarled, hitting you in the ribs with his cane.

You whimpered, only curling yourself into a ball.

"Let me guess you were going to run away with your friends away from me?" He sarcastically joked, "I thought you cried about hating them and wanting to go home."

Still looking down, you only stayed silent as he decided to harshly poke into your sides.

"Answer me (name)"

"I DONT WANT TO BE STUCK WITH YOU" you shouted, pointing at Azul.

"Im sick of being your toy; you just take me out whenever you remember I exist," you sobbed. "Just let me go; I won't tell anyone about what you did to me or be around Octavinelle anymore."

Azul only looked in disbelief, as if you had grown three heads.

"Im serious, you can have Ramshackle; I'll go live in another dorm if I have to," you cried loudly in the echoing hall.

Azul was quiet for a moment; it seemed that he was thinking of your offer.

Even Jade seemed alarmed at your sudden outburst as you cried with tears running down your scratched-up face and the scent of roses coming from your matted hair.

But Azul was only thinking of how sorry he was for not hiding you better.

"Jade, I can take her back." Azul sighed in defeat. "It seems I might need to use my other plan."

You thrashed in Azul's hold as he held you to his chest in a bridal style.

"I'll take you a warm bath and give you some of this," he cooed as he pulled a vial from his breast pocket.

Your eyes widen in horror when you realize what he was threatening you with.

Hiii, I am so sorry for reacting so late, I have just been really busy with exams and stuff. Anyway, here is the post about Candida Aureus. I will also post about Alternaria solani, but at another time because I am still occupied with my exams.

This post will focus more on the fungus itself, rather than the effect it has on humans.

Candida aureus

Candida auris is a type of fungus that grows a yeast and can cause candidiases in humans. It is most often contracted in hospitals by patients with a reduced immunity.¹ The fungus can enter the blood causing fungemia (the presence of yeast or fungi in the blood) and cause serious infections.² These infections affect the bloodstream, central nervous system and the internal organs.¹

C. auris has attracted attention because of its drug resistance. It was discovered in 2009 and has seemed to spread globally in the past 15 years.

Identification and microscopic features

C. auris was first described and identified in 2009 after being found in the ear canal of a 70-year-old Japanese woman at the Tokyo Metropolitan Geriatric Hospital in Japan. It is a species of ascomycetous fungus of the genus Candida that grows as a yeast. It forms smooth, shiny, whitish-grey, viscous colonies on growth media.¹

Microscopically, cells are ellipsoid in shape.¹ The cells are approximately 2.5–5.0 micrometres in size and are arranged singly, in pairs or even in groups. C. auris does not form hyphae or pseudohyphae. Although, if it is grown under high-salt stress and depletion of heat-shock proteins, it can result in production of pseudohyphae like forms.³

Origins and emergence of the species

DNA analysis of four distinct but drug-resistant strains of Candida auris indicate an evolutionary divergence taking place at least 4,000 years ago. The common leap among the four strains into drug-resistance might be linked to to widespread azole-type antifungal use in agriculture. However, explanations for its emergence remain speculative.¹

Proposed scheme for the emergence of C. auris

Another possible explanation for its origins and spread is suggested to revolve around seawater. Molecular biologist Auke de Jong explains the correlation: ‘Because this fungus has a very high tolerance for salt, which is a substance many fungi cannot cope with. The sea could be a plausible route for the global spread of Candida auris; it may have been spread across the globe by the currents.’ ⁴

Vaccine development and treatment

As of June 2024 there is no human vaccine against Candida auris, however experiments involving the NDV-3A vaccine have successfully immunized mice against the fungus. This vaccine also improved the protective efficacy of the antifungal drug micafungin against C. auris infection in the mouse bloodstream.¹

Treatment can be complicated because of its multiple drug resistance and it easily being misidentified as various other Candida species.¹

Highly adaptable

Molecular biologist Auke de Jong also talks about how C. auris is a highly adaptable fungus. Besides its high tolerance for salt, it can also survive relatively high temperatures and commonly used disinfectants. The actions of mankind have accelerated the fungus’ adaptive capacity. Through the large-scale use of fungicides in agriculture, we have accelerated the adaptation process in this fungus. This contributes to the development of an fungus that is rapidly building an increasingly stronger resistance to the substances with which we fight it.⁴

Just a silly little jaytim involving never died! Jason's big fat crush on his new friend.

Jason twirls in front of Babs again in case her Oracle eyes see something that he's missed. He worked hard on this, and he'd die of mortification if he there was a mistake he hadn't seen. He won't lie, he's kind of nervous about tonight. It's been...awhile since he's gone to do something social beyond school (and boy doesn't that make him sound like a loser) and he thinks he might have gotten a little too overenthusiastic about it. Well, Dick said it was fine but even after the coma Dick's only here every once in a blue moon and Jason isn't sure if he should take Dick's advice to heart when the man's been running around in tights since the day he was born. Plus Jason still remembers that Dick is a lying liar who lies when he thinks something would be funny or was trying to cover his ass. (Yes, he still holds that mask acne incident against him! Barbie laughed at him, Dick! Sure he now has photo evidence of Pizza Face Grayson, but still!) Everything fits him perfectly despite that last second growth spurt that finally started showing up. A tiny thing, barely an inch but it was enough to finally push him past 5ft so he's happy. His tunic fits perfectly and the stitching has an Alfred seal of approval. His armor is light, the leather looks good despite being made from old scraps of Bruce and Dick's outgrown clothes that have too much wear and tear to pass down. The cape swishes just the way he remembers, though a deep red instead of canary yellow. He decided against only tights by wearing some sturdy shorts over them, like an adventurer would, everything color matched for the time period. He looks up at Babs who's giving him a bemused look and he puffs out his chest indigently. "What?" he says tersely. "Nothing nothing," comes the amused sing song, the kind she gets when she's teasing Dick. "I just didn't expect this to be the result of introducing you to online gaming." Jason's cheeks warm but he has nothing to be ashamed of. Sure he's become...a geek after the accident. But he has friends, like actual friends close to his age that go to his school and not just co-workers six years older than him or a penpal from across the country. Plus Jason can admit he was a nerd before becoming a combo nerd/geek so it's not like his reputation took a hit. "Nothing wrong with immersion," he says. Babs gives him a wry grin. "Nothing wrong with impressing Tim you mean?"

And Jason couldn't even be mad at Barbie about that because she's absolutely right. Tabletop was Tim's thing, and Jason was excited to try it out, but it was absolutely a new thing for him. All of this was new to Jason. After being stuck with nothing but a computer for months on end any social skills Jason might have had have atrophied and what little that remains has made Jason the picture perfect geek. And he really didn't want to screw up this friendship when it was the lifeline that Jason used to actually talk to people in real life and not in front of a screen. Well, people that aren't maladjusted larpers punching criminals. "Seriously Barbie, does it look good? I don't wanna embarrass myself," Jason mumbles. This time Barbara does laugh and its just as embarrassing as the last time. "Ah, what's the world come to. Robin, the boy wonder himself, worried that he's going to embarrass his best friend in front of his Wizards and Warlocks group," she says wiping an imaginary tear from her eye. "It's Trailblazer," Jason says automatically, already having corrected Bruce, Dick, and Alfred about this for weeks. Barbara starts laughing again and Jason resists the urge to stomp out like a child. It wouldn't be dramatic anyhow, he isn't wearing shoes and he refuses to stomp in his fantasy footwear that's basically just a metal band around his arch for support. Once she stops laughing she finally takes pity on Jason. "You look fine Little Bird. I don't see anything sticking out, and the outfit looks amazing. Your little fey prince character is gonna knock it out of the park," she says and Jason feels warm enough that he doesn't even correct her that he's a halfling-changeling and not a fey anything, much less a prince.

 That warmth stays with him until he's in front of Tim's door. It's then that he thinks that maybe going all out was a terrible idea. He knows that some people dress up, but it isn't like a mandatory thing. And Tim didn't say anything about needing to dress up for Jason's first tabletop night. But Jason had been so excited. Tim didn't even finish his invitation before Jason already had a dozen designs scrambling in his head and started creating a character piece by piece. He was dragging out knowledge he hasn't touched since he was Robin. Fashion design, historical trends, and how to use them to create something tangible with the sewing lessons he had begged Alfred for back when he wanted to learn every practical skill he could. In case he got dropped like a sack of steaming shit. Crap what if they think Jason's a nerd? He had read that Traiblazer book cover to cover and made notes like it was a reading assignment! To be authentic to the setting! In case Tim's friend Ives wanted to "Um actually" Jason's meticulously created backstory and full lineage and npcs he built and sent to Tim weeks ago. Shit, maybe Jason's more of a loser than he thought if he thinks a wizards and warlocks group is too cool for him.

 He thinks about calling Alfred to pick him up and make a lie about the campaign being cancelled. Maybe he can persuade Bruce to send him back to public school instead of Gotham Academy. Then he can forget all about Tim and his goofy smile and how he puts his foot in his mouth and how cute he looked when he asked Jason to join in this game because he wanted to share something about himself with— Jason's thoughts are cut off when the door opens. He looks up, eyes wide with anxiety in his stupid changeling halfling outfit without any shoes because he wanted to be authentic. The guy across the doorway was tall, taller than Jason (but who isn't) and taller than Tim (also not an accomplishment), blonde with glasses. "Are you sure this guy's a senior, Tim," he says and Jason has to stop himself from punching out Tim's other friend.

Tim's head then pokes out of the door, funny wizard hat and all and just stares at Jason. For a full minute. It gets awkward fast but neither Jason or the other guy know what to say before Jason takes the plunge. "Hey, I'm Jason, you must be Ives?" he says forcing all his nerves as deep down as he can. Ives nods, "Sebastian Ives, don't call me by my first name." It isn't until introductions are done that Tim comes back online. "Hey! Jason! Wow! Your costume is really good! A changeling right?!" he says loudly, cheeks and ears a bright pink.

i actually have a single dad jason + eventual jaytim au in my notes. well i have more than one but this one is the most fleshed out (edit: ah… i was trying to type up a streamlined version but i ended up fleshing a couple more things out… it’s still shorter but. not as short as i was aiming for 😂)

Tim has been away from Gotham for a while—spreading his wings, developing who he is as a vigilante outside of Gotham (and Bruce). He returns after about a year, I think. During that year, Jason ended up with a kid. I have a few different ideas on how, lol, but regardless of her origin, Jason has a kid & he’s utterly wrapped around her finger, lmao. Tim knew that he had a kid but knowing is different from seeing it in person and something about it draws him in.

Tim and Jason’s territories have enough overlap that they often had occasion to work together before Tim left, and that’s true now that he’s back, too. More frequent, even, since Jason prioritizes spending time with / taking care of his kid when he can.

While he does hold Tim at arm’s length at first, after time spent working together, he starts letting Tim in, bit by bit. It’s a lot of little moments, building on each other. I think the biggest turning point is when he invites Tim over to eat before patrol, because he doesn’t think Tim eats enough real, hearty food xD And then that becomes a semi-regular thing—something Tim comes to cherish; bonding with Jason and his daughter.

He gets to know them, both of them. The tiny imperfections, the day-to-day mannerisms and habits, the little idiosyncrasies that make up who they are. And then one day, Tim looks up and realizes that he’s fallen in love with Jason, wants to be part of his and his daughter’s lives as something more than just Jason’s co-worker or friend… and that absolutely terrifies him.

Being with Jason is now about more than just… being with Jason. There’s a kid involved too, and… Tim doesn’t want to mess her life up. He’s not exactly the most stable of people.

But then something goes wrong on patrol, and Jason is captured, or cut off from everyone else. He needs rescue. The others mount a rescue, and Tim… he almost joins them. But… his first thought after, We need to find Jason, is about the kid. It’s true there are other people who could watch her, people Jason trusts… but most of them are outside of Gotham. So Tim chooses to trust the others to find and rescue Jason, and focuses on taking care of Jason’s daughter instead.

The others do manage to rescue Jason. He’s been injured & will be laid up a while, but he’ll heal. As soon as it’s okay to do so, Tim brings the kid to see him. After she’s assured that her dad is okay, Jason gets her talking about what she’s been up to while he was gone. And ofc, a lot of what she talks about is Tim, and the normalcy he did his best to give her.

She tires out eventually and falls asleep in Jason’s arms. Jason thanks Tim for caring for her, which Tim brushes off. No big deal, she’s a great kid, anyone would have done it. Jason’s not buying it though. He knows how hard it is to sit on the sidelines, for any of them. He also knows how devoted Tim is to the cause, to the Mission. Him choosing to set that aside for Jason’s kid is a big deal, even if it was only a short while.

Tim’s feelings aren’t one-sided—but Jason had a lot of the same fears Tim did. That he wouldn’t put her first. This is just one time, but it makes him hopeful for the future. So obviously Jason makes a move.

Tim argues, of course. Jason contradicts him with evidence, of the last few weeks. Of how Tim has already made her a priority, and this is just the most obvious sign yet. Tim tells him he’s scared. He has no idea how to be a parent.

“What, and you think I do?” Jason demands, brows knitted.

“Yes? Jason, you’re so good with her. You’re an amazing father,” Tim says earnestly.

Jason flushes darkly. “I— Look, I gave up on the idea of having kids a long time ago. So when I got her… I mean, you remember. I was a mess. I had no idea what I was doing, and honestly? I still don’t. I fuck up. Probably more than I even realize. But— She’s worth it. And, god, Tim. You’re good with her. I think— You could. If you wanted.”

Tim swallows around the lump in his throat. “You’d really trust me with her?”

“I already do. And—hell. It’s not like you’d be doing it alone. You—” Jason’s flush spreads to his ears and down the back of his neck. “I’d have your back.”

Tim gets misty-eyed. He agrees, on the condition that they take it slow. Which Jason agrees to, because ofc they need to go slow with this. And uh… happily ever after? Eventually?

Handstands For You - Teen Wolf - Sterek - Rated E I know most of the folks who follow my fics are here for DC/Jaytim, but this is the fic I thank forever and always for getting me back into writing! Definitely proof to myself that I could do it, start, middle and end :) And if you like the way I write pining, werewolves, and a fun mystery that isn't really that mysterious, you may enjoy this one ;)

The batfam is riddled with trauma and while I haven't examined it very closely in some of my other fics, I really enjoyed digging into Jason in this one. Sorry buddy 😔but at least he's got a Tim to sit with, so... win? <3
