I know this is kinda messy but uhhhh hope it’s a decent contribution.
Oh and fair warning to everyone, it’s smutty
Also fun idea cause I noticed this after rereading it: take a shot every time Danni calls Sammi baby
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sammi was sprawled out on her back in bed trying to keep her hands above her waist. She didn’t work today so she had spent the time in their apartment getting ready for when Danni returned from her shift as a bar tender, and she should be home any minute.
As soon as she heard foot steps approach their bedroom she got excited. She’d spent the entire day desperate for Danni’s touch, just some form of release.
Danni entered, expecting her princess to be asleep considering how quiet the place was at 10 at night. However, the sight in front of her instantly made her face beet red. Sammi had her legs bent and spread on the plush sheets with her small breasts on full display. She instantly recognized the rosy lace panties she’d given Sammi for her birthday a few months back. She also didn’t miss the small dark spot that had grown on them as she approached her girl.
“How was work babe?” Sammi asked sweetly as she sat up to be face to face with the curly brunette.
“Was fine..” She answered back, clearly distracted. “Didn’t have to break up any fights tonight.” She finished with a lick of her lips as she crawled in front of Sammi, eyes still fixed on her lower half. Danni was wearing a thick white tank top and loose black jeans that were rolled at her ankles. “What do we have here hon?” She asked, finally looking up to make eye contact with the bassist she was kneeling in front of.
“I need you Danni.” she replied while leaning forward with a pout, doe eyes piercing their target.
Next thing she knew, her hand had trailed down to trace between her thighs. Her fingers inched closer towards the center until they finally reached her sweet spot.
Next thing she knew, her hand had trailed down to trace between her thighs. Her fingers inched closer towards the center until they finally reached her sweet spot.
Feeling just how soaked Sammi had gotten, Danni took it upon herself to duck down and lick a stripe against the panties, causing Sammi to let out a small, sweet gasp, tilting her head back against the headboard.
Not being able to take the wait, Danni gently, and oh so slowly began to slip the ruined fabric off of Sammi’s legs. A smile grew on the smaller girl’s face as she knew she’d finally be taken care of properly.
“What do you want sweetheart?” Danny inquired from down below while lightly ghosting her hands underneath Sammi’s thighs.
“I want you to have total control. I don’t wanna be aloud to come til you say I can.” She concluded with a “Can you do that for me?”, breath a tad shaky.
Danni just looked at her with admiration and with a low voice told her “Anything forever.”
The taller girl proceeded to kiss and suck at Sammi’s clit, sending shocks through her body. With every sigh and moan that Sammi emitted, Danni could feel the pull in her own stomach increase with desperation.
“Honey, you’re soaking wet” Danny declared, quite impressed honestly.
“Haven’t touched myself in like a week”. Sammi admitted, eyes still shut,head tilted back.
“why not baby?” Danni questioned.
“.. Saving myself for you” Sammi answered shyly, opening her eyes and looking down at her hands.
Danni gets back up on her knees and tilts Sammi’s chin up with care to capture her glossed mouth in a soft kiss. “Y know that’s gonna make it harder to keep yourself from coming right?”
Sam narrowed her eyes playfully. “S’part of the fun right?”
Now Danni was really ready to get things going. But she had an idea first.
“Hold on one sec.” She scuffled off the bed and made her way to the record player in the corner. Pulling out a particular sleeve from a nearby shelf, she gently slides the record out and placed it on the player. After flipping a switch and dropping the needle, She made her way back over to Sammi. Since I’ve Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin starts to play in the background.
Danni takes a seat at the edge of the bed but doesn’t crawl in. “On my lap baby.”
Sammi immediately obeys. She typically does. And besides she was far to needy right now to act bratty.
Before she positions herself on the drummer’s lap, Danni spreads her own legs and pats the thigh of her right one. This signals to Sam that she’s in for a ride.. quite literally.
After securing herself on the clothed thigh, Sammi was met with a thumb pad to her mouth and gratefully took it in. She accidentally bites a little to hard.
“Ah” Danny hissed “careful baby”
“Mm sorry” Sammi apologized
“That’s alright honey, I bet it just feels too good doesn’t it” Danni reassured, lowering her voice a bit.
“Mmm hmm!” Sammi hummed, taking the thumb back into her mouth. She began to ride like her life depended on it.
————
After about 20 nonstop minutes of kissing, hair tugging, and Sammi humping Danni’s now soaked thigh, Danni decides to pay some attention somewhere else. She leans down and takes one of Sammi’s nipples in her mouth, needily attending to the bud.
This just about sent Sam over the edge.
“I can’t fucking hold it anymore dan dan” Sammi declared with her arms resting on Danni’s shoulders.
“Don’t say that princess, i know you can wait a little longer” Danni insisted “it’ll feel so good once I let you come, and you know you deserve to feel good”
Sammi moaned low and needy at that. She wanted to feel good! And she wanted to be good for her girlfriend.
“Say it for me sweet girl, say you deserve to feel good”
“UNHH” Sammy let out, head falling back slightly and pace increasing on the drummers thigh. “I-”she interrupted herself with a sharp gasp when Danni started rubbing at her exposed clit. “I WANNA FEEL GOOD, I DESERVE TO FEEL GOOD! PLEASE MAKE ME FEEL SO SO GOOD!” At that point she begun babbling and Danni decided she had earned it.
“That’s it babygirl, come for me. You’ve worked for it”
Sammy immediately sped up against the denim as she releases the tension in her body and finally allowed herself to claim her pleasure. She slumps against Danni who begins to quietly coo in the subs ear while raking her fingers in her hair.
“You did so good darling.” Danni praised, making Sammi feel all fuzzy inside.
“Wanna hop in the shower?” Danni asked, already knowing the answer.
“Yes please.” Sammi now shot up. She wasn’t sure whether to prepare for a round two, or a surprise hair wash from Danni. If she’s lucky maybe both..
PS! Looking for RPers and/or co writers! Cross-posted on AO3!
Previously slightly abbreviated:
“This isn't my realm… this isn't my reality.”
“Lilith left sooner… but Charlie stayed until she became and adult.”
‘Better make my way to the Hazbin and see if i can't help this Charlie with her dreams sooner.’
Lucifer pocketed the phone, quickly getting out of the unstable building and making it for the nearest territory to get his bearings on which district he currently was in Pentagram before heading to Charlie's Happy Hotel before Alastor had renamed it the Hazbin Hotel.
()()()()
Lucifer gazed up at the building that was more or less falling apart with a minor internal cringe. ‘This place isn't fit for someone to live inside without coming too hard. I should know i enforced the building standards and have it all run by Hellborn companies for that very reason.’ Lucifer thought making his way up to the door of the hotel holding one of Charlie’s posters in his claws he had been able to snag from a lamppost being it got graffitied or ripped to shreds. He knocked on the door hearing a noise from inside before a frazzled-looking Charlie opened the door blinking her eyes at him in mild confusion. “I thought dragon dinners were extinct…” she muttered.
“Sinner?” Lucifer repeated giving the air he had literally entered Hell or at least this version of Hell.
Charlie had a look of sympathy as she pulled Lucifer inside closing the door behind her. “A Sinner is what we call a human soul that has died and didn't pass the judgment system Heaven has.” Charlie explained patiently. “Oh! How rude of me, I'm Charlie. I run this Hotel with the end goal of redeeming Sinners but for now it's more or less a Sanctuary for anyone who wants to get help.” Charlie introduced herself. She waved her hand over the lobby showing familiar faces. “The sinner in red is Alastor, our Hotelier. The female sinner in uniform is my girlfriend Vaggie and my personal guard. The spider sinner is our first resident, Angel Dust and finally the two flying goats are my assistants Razzle and Dazzle.” Charlie grinned as the two demonic goats sniffed the air around him before immediately pouncing him with hugs and kisses soon joined in by KeeKee.
His wings flapped a little to keep him upright from the unexpected force as he laughed at the ticklish kisses and cuddles. “Sorry… even in Life animals would snuggle and cuddle with me no matter what kind.” Lucifer stated after all he did technically die after he Fell from Heaven is it wasn't a complete lie.
“Geeze, don't think the two munchkins and the cat actually liked anyone but you Toots.” Angel’s familiar drawl stated as Lucifer rubbed the back of his head.
“yeah yeah make the Disney Princess reference in front of the dragon.” Lucifer huffed with a small pout as Charlie giggled at the interaction.
“Guess i should introduce myself as well.” Lucifer stated already knowing what he would use. “Samuel. Samuel Cain.” ‘Can't believe i have to use my old name and borrow Cain’s for this but i want to stay undercover as long as i can.’
Charlie grinned. “Is Sam fine?” Charlie asked.
“Sammy is better if you don't mind. I also see this place needs a lot of TLC.” Lucifer pointed out while trying to ignore the red eyes of the infernal Radio Demon partly glaring at him with suspicion. ‘Fuck off Bambi. I'm not letting you manipulate my daughter this time around and no way in Hell am i letting any version of myself being her down like i did.’ Lucifer thought to himself.
TBC…
EVENTUALLY…
one can hope…
Mini Rant to get out my feelings
Here is the rough part 2 that will hopefully help me get some interest in this AU or in any of my other prompts.
I'm starting to lose a lot of hope in getting anyone to RP with me more then a few days before going radio silent and bowing out.
I must be really really really bad for the entire community to basically avoid me.
Part 32 <- -> Part 34
Tumblr media
A message came in from Dean: We got him
You stared at your phone. They were alive. They had Azaneth. It was... over.
You couldn't seem to think. Couldn't seem to function. You just sat there.
What.
Even.
Was.
Happening.
You stared off into the middle distance.
You didn't notice the next message on your phone.
Or the next.
You did, eventually, notice the incessant ringing noise. You looked at the phone. A second later you worked out how to answer it.
“Hello?” you asked.
“Thank Christ,” Dean said. “Are you ok?!”
“Umm, yes.” You shook your head, trying to snap out of your haze.
“Sorry if I woke you, we were just worried something might have happened.”
“I wasn't asleep,” you mumbled.
“Everything ok?” You could hear the mounting panic in his voice.
“Yeah, I'm fine. I was just... lost. For a minute there. But I'm fine.”
“Ok, sweetheart. We’ll be back soon.”
“Ok.” You hung up.
You stared around the room. It was like it was different, but it looked the same. You felt a bit relieved, especially at hearing Dean's voice and knowing they were safe. But it was like your body couldn't work out what emotion to feel, so had decided to feel all of them. All at once. You couldn't get it straight in your brain.
You sat and stared at the door.
Eventually, there was noise from outside. You suddenly panicked, remembering that Sam and Dean had told you that Azaneth would have other demons working with him. You tried to remember what they'd told you to do – hide! Stab!
You grabbed the angel blade and ran into the bathroom, breathing heavily. You got into the shower cubicle and crouched down, clutching the blade in front of you. Your hands shook.
You heard the motel room door open. You willed yourself to be still and quiet.
“Y/N?” you heard Sam call. “It's ok, it's us.”
You stood up and went to the bathroom door, still clutching the blade in front of you. You got there just as Sam did. You dropped the blade with a clatter and jumped to wrap your arms around him in a hug. His arms came up and held you, “Hey, hey, it's ok. We're ok.” You could see some cuts and bruises on him, but he looked generally ok.
He let you go and led the way back into the main room. “Probably should’ve taught her about holy water,” Sam was saying to Dean. You couldn't see Dean yet, Sam's broad shoulders blocking your view. He moved to get something out of a bag and that was when you saw Dean.
You sucked in a sharp breath. Dean's eye was swollen and blood was dripping down his face from a cut on his forehead.
Dean’s eyes flew to yours when he heard your gasp. “It's ok, sweetheart. Probably looks worse than it is.”
“I'm just about to get him cleaned up,” Sam said, bringing the first aid kit over to Dean. “If it makes you uncomfortable, that's ok. You could go wait in the bathroom if you want.” You shook your head and moved closer to Dean.
“Oh,” Sam said, almost to himself as he stood up, “I forgot the antiseptic.”
You reached out as if to touch Dean's face, but stopped yourself. Your breathing started to get shallower and faster as you stared at the blood. Drip. Drip. Drip.
Dean took your hands in his and held them. “Bambi, look at me.” You didn't react. He moved one hand to cup your cheek, “Y/N, look at me. Look at me properly.” You managed to tear your eyes away from the blood to look into his eyes. “I am ok, ok? I will be ok. Take some deep breaths for me, sweetheart. Sam and I are ok. Head wounds always bleed a lot, they're melodramatic. Sammy's going to fix me right up. We came back, and we're fine.”
You slowly nodded. “You came back.”
Sam had returned and was waiting by your elbow, probably waiting for Dean to finish. Dean dropped his hands and you returned yours to your sides. “Alright Mr Melodramatic,” Sam joked, probably trying to cheer you up, “Let's fix this before you cost us a cleaning fee on the room.”
Sam worked methodically to clean the wound and then glue it together with the special wound glue. He bandaged it carefully. You watched, half fascinated and half horrified. “Alright,” Sam said to Dean, “how about you go clean up the rest of your face in the mirror?” Dean nodded and headed to the bathroom.
Sam gathered up the rubbish from his ministrations and threw it in the bin. He then turned to you, “How are you going?”
“I'm fine, all I did was sit in a motel room.”
He looked at you critically, “Dean tells me you didn't sleep last night, did you get any today?” You shook your head. “Have you eaten anything?”
“A little.”
His look deepened.
“A Mars bar,” you admitted.
He went to the fridge and pulled out 3 ready meals he'd bought yesterday. “Which one do you want?”
“I'm ok,” you said, feeling awkward and a bit all over the place still.
“Y/N, you haven't slept, you haven't eaten and I don't think you've drunk much water. Your brain has no energy, no rest and a day of being flooded with stress hormones. It is no wonder you’re feeling freaked out and one step away from a panic attack.”
You wordlessly pointed at the one you wanted. He removed the plastic and put it in the microwave.
Sam offered one to Dean, who glanced quickly at you before accepting. You had a feeling they were only eating so that you would, but hey, if that made them eat then that was good too. The three of you sat on the floor, although you tried to tell the brothers to eat at the table.
You watched Dean wince when he twisted to the side to reach his napkin. “What happened?!” you asked, immediately worried.
“Jeez, you fuss more than Sammy and he is in peak form tonight,” Dean said with a smirk. He continued in a gentler tone, “I’m a little beaten up but I’m ok. I’ve had far worse.”
“What happened?” you asked quietly. “On the hunt, I mean.”
“Well, you know, fairly normal. Azaneth had quite a lot of defences and lackeys around, so we had to despatch them to get to him, and then we had to beat him. Plan worked well but, uh, I did have to distract him so Sammy could surprise him with the cuffs.”
“And getting beaten up was how you distracted him?” you asked, dual edges of amusement and worry in your voice.
“Hey, I was doing some beating up him too!”
Sam sniggered, “He landed a couple of blows, at best.”
“Alright, well, I’m gonna shower and get the rest of this blood off me,” Dean said, getting up and throwing out his empty container. He disappeared into the bathroom and shut the door.
“How about you get some sleep?” Sam said to you. “It’s super late.”
“I see what Dean means about your fussing,” you joked.
“Dean thinks anyone not actively attacking him is fussing.” You smirked at his joke. “Come on,” he said, “I’ll turn around and you can get changed.”
You got ready for bed at his urging and then stood awkwardly at your blankets between the two beds. Sam was busying himself repacking things into bags, which he probably didn’t need to do but you figured he was trying to avoid the impression he was staring at you. You were grateful. You got down on the floor and into your bedding.
You felt uneasy. You knew the boys were ok, you could hear Dean in the shower and still see Sam. But you couldn’t shake your fear, couldn’t relax. You tried to force yourself to close your eyes, to let sleep happen.
SCREEEEEECH came a loud noise from outside. It was probably just a car taking the corner too fast, maybe showing off for their friends. But it freaked you out. You sat up, heart racing and looking around wildly.
Sam came and sat on the floor at the end of his bed, near your feet. “It’s just a car,” he said reassuringly.
“I know.”
“How about you lay back down and try and get to sleep?”
“I’m too scared,” you admitted quietly, not looking at his face.
He reached out slowly and took your hand, holding it in his own. “I’ll wait with you, if you’d like.” You bit your lip and then nodded, slowly easing yourself back down on to your pillow. He gave your hand a squeeze and you shut your eyes.
He held your hand, sometimes rubbing gentle circles with his thumb, until you fell asleep.
---
“She ok?” Dean asked Sam quietly, seeing him sitting on the floor near you, your hand in his.
“Yeah, she’s pretty freaked out, but I got her to sleep.”
“She mention anything specific?”
“Nah, I think it’s just all of it. Stress of leaving the bunker, being left alone, worrying about us, worrying about him.”
“Yeah,” Dean replied. “Wonder how she’ll go overnight. We should get some sleep now, not sure how long she'll stay asleep.”
Dean looked at your sleeping face. He hated how scared you’d been on the phone, how worried about him and Sam. Hated that he'd had to leave you alone when you were scared. And then your face when you'd seen his injuries, he wished he'd been able to hide them from you.
He wanted to reach out and stroke your frown away, but that was a line too far. You wouldn't appreciate him doing that.
You were still so fragile, although you’d shown strength today that he hadn’t known you’d had in you. He was proud of you.
Her Saviours- Ch.38
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
Summary: During an odd case, the Winchesters came across Y/N, a scared young Omega girl who had been used as a lure for a nest of vampires. After rescuing her from the monsters, John and his sons took her in knowing she was in no state to live among ordinary people. But three Alphas and one Omega is a mixture bound for disaster.
A/N: It’s my birthday!!
Warnings: Explicit language. ABO dynamics.
Bamby
“Yeah. You probably missed something, that's what.”
“Dude, I ran LexisNexis, local police reports, newspapers, I couldn't find a single red flag. Are you sure you got the coordinates right?”
“Yeah, I double checked. It's Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Dad wouldn't have sent us coordinates if it wasn't important Sammy.”
You were sitting in the back of Baby, as usual, listening to the brothers bicker, as usual.
Sam was getting frustrated at his brother. “Well I'm telling you I looked and all I could find was a big steamy pile of nothing. If Dad's sending us hunting for something I don't know what.”
“Well maybe he's going to meet us there.” Dean still wasn’t giving up on their father.
Sam scoffed, “Yeah. Cause he's been so easy to find up to this point.”
“You're a real smart ass you know that?”
“He’s not wrong,” you mumbled to yourself.
Dean looked up, catching your eye in the mirror. He didn’t comment, but you knew he heard you, and by the way Sam shifted ever so slightly, you knew he heard as well. Both brothers had an idea of where you stood with John- Sam more than Dean- and neither was willing to comment on it. At least not yet, and not in front of the other.
“Don't worry I'm sure there's something in Fitchburg worth killing,” Dean insisted, getting back to the topic at hand.
“Yeah?” Sam asked, not sounding convinced. “What makes you so sure?”
“Cause I'm the oldest, which means I'm always right.”
“No it doesn't.”
“It totally does,” Dean insisted.
Leaning against Baby with Sam as Dean went to get some coffees, you watched the playground on the park you’d stopped next to. You were frowning, watching the scene in front of you, feeling uneasy.
There was only one child in sight, and she was barely playing.
Returning to you and Sam, Dean handed out the coffees he was carrying. “Well...the waitress thinks the local freemasons are up to something sneaky but other than that no one's heard about anything freaky going on.”
“Dean you got the time?” Sam asked, a curious frown furrowing his brows.
You looked up at him and noticed he was watching the park as well. It seemed you weren’t the only one who had noticed the peculiar scene.
“Ten after four,” Dean answered. “Why?”
“Look at the park,” you started. Dean came over to stand next to you and turned to the playground. “Where are all the kids?”
He grew just as curious as you and his brother. “School's out isn't it?”
“Yeah.” Sam nodded. “So where is everybody? This place should be crawling with kids right now.”
Sighing, Dean handed his coffee over to Sam without a word. You watched, confused for a moment, before he started towards the woman watching the little girl. You could only assume she was her mother.
“We’ll be right back,” you told Sam absentmindedly as you hurried after Dean to walk with him.
The woman was half watching her daughter, half reading the newspaper. Her daughter was playing, but with no one to join her, she didn’t seem as enthused as you guessed she normally would have been. It was as if the trip to the park was bittersweet.
“Sure is quiet out here,” Dean started, drawing the attention of the mother.
She looked up from her newspaper, a little startled at first. You watched her smell the air, catching Dean’s Alpha scent. Before she could react, however, she caught wind of your Omega which had her visibly relax.
“Yeah, it's a shame,” she noted, looking genuine.
“Why's that?” Dean asked.
She shrugged. “You know, kids getting sick, it's a terrible thing.”
Growing more concerned, you moved over to sit with her on the bench. “Kids? Are there a lot getting sick?”
“Just five or six but serious,” she started. “Hospital serious. A lot of parents are getting pretty anxious. They think it's catching.”
As an Omega it was in your blood to be concerned about children. You’d always pictured having pups of your own, even if sometimes you knew it wasn’t a feasible thought with your lifestyle. Despite that, you always felt the need to care for and worry about kids. This news just didn’t sit right in your gut.
You offered the nurse a gentle smile as you set the basket of stuffed toys you’d brought to the hospital on the counter between the two of you. She paused, looking from you to the basket and then back.
“Can I help you?”
Taking a deep breath, you nodded. “I heard about the children.”
One sniff and she knew you were an Omega, and that’s all it took.
Anyone who looked at you would see a concerned Omega, wanting nothing more than to help the families of the sick children. You weren’t pushing for information, or snooping around, you were simply concerned. It was in your nature to be so empathetic.
Smiling gently, she nodded. “The paediatric ward is down that hall, turn left and up the stairs.”
“Thank you.” Your smile had a hint of sadness to it as you gathered the basket and went to follow her directions.
As you rounded the corner, you looked back and spotted Sam and Dean walking into the hospital in their suits.
The plan was for you to talk to the families, while the brothers talked to the doctors. They were taking the roles as doctors from the CDC, which would get them access you wouldn’t normally have. It wasn’t common for a young Omega to have such a prestigious job.
Still, that didn’t mean you were without your own tools and skills.
Stepping towards one of the beds of the sick children, you placed a stuffed bear in the crook of the little girl’s arm. Looking down at her with sympathetic eyes, you felt your heart strings tug at the image of her laying there so still and pale.
“I’m so sorry about your daughters,” you started as you looked from one bed to the other before meeting the eyes of the girls’ father.
He was sitting by their beds, looking distraught and exhausted. He’d been here a few nights now, and with no sign of improvement or change, he was growing more and more fraught with each passing moment.
“That’s very kind of you.” He attempted a smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Chewing on your lip, you moved over to the seat next to his and set the basket of toys- which was almost empty now- on the ground in front of you. With your hands now free, you reached out to take his gently.
He flinched at first, before your soothing Omega scent eased some of the tension in his body.
“I lost my family when I was young,” you started. “I may not have children, but I know what it feels like to feel helpless. I only wish you get a happier ending than I did.”
It was true. You did lose your family, your real family, when you were young. To be honest, you barely remembered them. With all the trauma and chaos that surrounded the events of your childhood, you couldn’t remember much of your life before monsters and Winchesters. But you still understood the pain of losing loved ones.
His hand squeezed yours. “Thank you.”
Offering a gentle smile once more, you began to pry ever so carefully, “Do you mind if I ask…?”
“How it happened?” he finished for you. “I don’t know. Mary, my oldest, she came down with it first. Then Bethany caught it the next night.”
“So suddenly?” you asked, trying not to show how shocked you were.
Diseases spread, you were aware, but they didn’t just put kids into comas so suddenly. He was suggesting there were no symptoms, no warnings, and now his daughters were
When he nodded, you could see just how tired he was. You knew he’d been trying to wrap his head around the whole thing ever since his daughters had fallen ill. It was all he could do with himself as he waited for any sign of them waking up soon.
“The doctors are saying it's pneumonia. But it doesn’t make sense. They were fine. They were perfectly fine. They were healthy. They were happy.” Shaking his head, you looked from each bed, trying to wrap his head around it.
All you could think to do was to give his hand a squeeze, to try and ease his pain and offer any support you could.
The sound of someone clearing their throat had you both look up. Sam and Dean were standing in the doorway, watching the two of you before their eyes fell onto the girls’ father.
“Sir, we’re from the CDC,” Sam started. “We were wondering if we could ask you a few questions?”
When the father hesitated, you gave him a reassuring nod. “I’ll stay with your girls until you come back.”
Thankful that they wouldn’t be alone, he squeezed your hand gratefully before following the brothers out of the room, leaving you to watch his motionless girls as they lay soundlessly in their hospital beds.
The brothers had left you in the car while they went to Bethany and Mary’s house. The idea was that their father would be at the hospital for the foreseeable future, so they would snoop around. Normally you would go with them, but it had been your idea to stay behind this time.
If they got caught it meant you were no longer a player in the game either. At least if the father went home and found the brothers in his house, you could still go to the hospital and get some information.
Sam had been surprised at your thought process, and impressed. Dean was actually relieved, as if there was something particularly stressing him out with this case.
The passenger side door opened as Sam slid into the car, their excursion over with. “Have you heard of a shtriga?”
Your brows crinkled in confusion. “A what?”
Dean got into the car then, with a sigh. “Sammy and me found some stuff. We think it could be a shtriga.”
“Dean thinks it could be one,” Sam corrected.
“Well, whatever it is, we need to find a motel so we can do research,” you noted.
Nodding, agreeing with you, Dean turned Baby on and started down the road. Neither of you said much as he drove, but words didn’t need to be said. You could sense the tension in the air. Something was wrong with Dean.
Something borrowed
Fandom - Supernatural Characters - Dean & Sam Word count - 697 Warning - hurt/comfort, brotherly feelings, strong language/cursing A note - Set near the beginning of the episode Faith, in season one. Missing scene. For @sicktember, Day 7: borrowed hoodie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam left the hospital room with his jaw clenched. Dean couldn’t see it from the bed, but the tone of the “Watch me” his brother gave him before turning to the door and all his body language - his brooding shoulders, the swagger in his step - let him know that fact.
Dean sighed and clicked the TV back on. Day-time TV wasn’t so bad, he just didn’t want Sam to know he liked it. But he couldn’t concentrate on the plot of the telenovela he channel flipped to, the dialog drowned over the sound of his own labor breathing. That and the fact that Sammy’s body language had also told him he was worried. In his mind’s eye, he could see his little brother gnawing on his fingernails while searching restlessly on the internet for a treatment that the doctor might have overlooked.
What if Sammy did something stupid to save him? He could be doing something to endanger himself right now, in the attempt to find a solution to Dean’s predicament. That would be the cherry on this shit cake, wouldn’t it? His gigantic sibling injuring himself or getting arrested trying to save Dean. Because the sonnofabitch was stubborn as fuck.
Enough was enough. He wasn’t gonna live his last days on Earth in a cozy hospital bed when Sam was out there, alone, doing who knows what. He wasn’t lying earlier when he said it was a dangerous gig. And Dean was responsible for bringing him back to hunting, for god sake. He should at least look after him to the end. And looking out for his little brother had always been his job, anyway.
Decision made, Dean threw back the sheet and swung his legs out of the hospital bed. His heart was pounding as fast as Thumper’s leg in Bambi. He stayed sitting on the edge of the mattress for a long time, waiting for the dizziness to subside. That’s how he realized his feet were swollen. He hoped he wouldn’t have too much trouble putting his boots on.
Leaning on every piece of equipment or furniture within reach, he got to the closet to find his clothes. Everything was still wet from the water he had fallen in earlier. His jeans and jacket were the worst, being wet half the way and caked with basement gunk. Luckily, the hoodie Sam had covered him with while waiting for the ambulance was dry, and his socks and t-shirt were mostly just damp. He decided to forgo his jacket and Dickies shirt for the time being. As for the jeans, he didn’t have a choice. He scowled as the wet, smelly denim stuck to his legs as he pulled them on. Shivers ran up his spine from the sensation of the icy fabric, and he felt bout to pass out from the effort. From putting on his fucking pants!
As soon as he regained a modicum of strength, he put his brother’s dark grey hoodie over his t-shirt to stop freezing. When he zipped it all the way up, he got a whiff of Sam’s sent. It was a mix of cheap laundromat detergent, Irish Spring soap, and l’Oreal shampoo. The odor, subtle as it was, hit Dean with full force. It was as if his baby brother was right there and hugging him. Without thinking, he hugged himself in response. His dark-rimmed eyes began to sting.
He exhaled sharply, berating himself for indulging in something that could be perceived as a chick-flick moment. Yet he couldn't help putting on the hood, to keep the smell closer. It gave him as much strength as the warmth did.
It was his job to protect his brother, damn it! Always has been, always will be. It was not a job his father forced on him like second-hand or borrowed clothes; more a mission that belonged to him, that enveloped him like a mighty cloak and that he claimed with all his being. His future might be short, but he was still alive and still able to at least steer Sam away from danger if he went kamikaze.
“Hold on, Sammy”, he whispered, “I’m coming to you.”
Look At Me
Part Two
Tumblr media
Sammy x Reader (f)
Part One
Warnings: none
You woke to the feeling of someone holding you close to them. At first, you cuddled closer to them, reveling in the feeling. Then, it began to register. Someone’s holding you. That someone is Sam.
Bolting up, you startle Sam awake. Not quite awake and confused, Sam sits up and looks around the room. Seeing nothing, he looks at you and rubs his eyes asking, “What’s going on Bambi?”
“Huh?” You ask, trying to compose yourself. “Oh nothing, it’s nothing.”
“Are you sure? You look like somethings bothering you.” Sam says.
“I’m sure. It’s really nothing.” You say, slowly getting out of bed.
“Alright then. Well since we’re both up, do you want to go get breakfast?” He asks.
“Sounds good to me, do you want me to text the guys to meet us?”
Looking at his phone, Sam sees the time and says, “Nah, it’s only 8:30. They’re going to still be sleeping. Plus, it’d be nice to spend some alone time with my favorite girl.”
He winks and has a smirk as he says the last bit. You smile and roll your eyes. “Well okay, I guess that’s fine.” You tease.
The two of you go to get ready when Sam notices you going to grab your corset from your outfit last night and says, “Hey why don’t you borrow some of my clothes. As much as I loved seeing you in that outfit, I figure you’d prefer something a little more comfortable.”
“That would be great, but I’ll only take a shirt. There’s no way your pants would make it up my calf let alone my hips.” You laugh.
He smiles and shakes his head, tossing a black linen button up to you. You catch it and grab your black bell bottoms from last night and head to the bathroom to shower and get dressed.
As you shower, you think about what had just happened. Sam was cuddling you while he was asleep. He was cuddling you and you loved it. But, you can't hold onto that feeling. He's one of your best friends. There's no way he feels anything other than friendship toward you. Sure you two would flirt every now and again, but Sam flirts with everyone. You rub your temples and choose to stop thinking about it.
When you came out, you saw Sam sitting on the edge of the bed scrolling through his phone. He was wearing a pair of black straight leg slacks, a black silk shirt and a pair of black suede loafers. Smiling to yourself, you walk over and sit next to him grabbing your boots to put on.
“You know, if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were trying to match me.” You say with a wink. “People are going to think we’re a couple.”
“Would that really be so bad?” He mumbles under his breath, but you don’t catch it.
“What?”
“As if I would try matching you. You’re the one wearing one of my shirts.” He scoffs and gives a grin.
After putting on your boots and grabbing your wallet, the two of you walk out of the room and into the hallway. As you both start to discuss where to go for breakfast, you ran right into Danny.
“Oof, hey doll, you need to watch where you're going.” Danny says, straightening back up from almost being knocked down.
“I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” You ask wide eyed.
“I’m fine, as if you could actually hurt me.” Danny laughs. “Where are you two headed?”
“We were just about to go somewhere for breakfast.” You say with a smile.
“Nice, well if you can wait a second for me to grab my wallet, I can join you guys.” Danny says, pointing his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of his room.
“Sur…”
“Actually, it was just going to be the two of us.” Sam says, cutting you off.
“Oh. Well okay then, you guys have fun then.” Danny says with a shrug.
“Thanks! We will.” You say, giving a confused look to Sam.
He ignores it and starts walking toward the elevator. Once inside, you’re about to ask what that was about when Sam cuts you off and says, “While you were in the shower, I looked up some breakfast places. There’s this coffee shop called Etcetera that’s close by, that also sells pastries and some other breakfast food. Want to go there?”
“Sure, sounds good to me.” You say.
You leave the hotel and walk the three blocks to the coffee shop. Sam orders a oatmilk cafe au Lait and a vegan breakfast bowl. You order a frozen mocha and a fruit and granola parfait. When your food and drinks are ready, you grab them and find a table by the front window. You both enjoy your breakfasts and make small talk, enjoying being able to be with one another.
As you finish up the last of your coffee, you go to ask Sam what happened earlier, but your phone goes off.
Danny Boy: Hey, when will you guys be back? Josh wants us all to hit this local record store and then go to lunch.
Looking up from your phone you say, “Danny just texted me asking when we’ll be back. Apparently Josh wants to go see this record store and go to lunch.”
“Tell him that we already made plans, but we’ll catch up with them for dinner.”
“Oh okay. I didn’t realize we had plans already.” You tease, as you let Danny know.
“What can I say, I needed more Sammy and Bambi time.” He says reaching across the table and placing his hand on yours.
You feel your face heat up and you clear your throat. Sliding your hand out from his, you go to put your hair in a ponytail. “So what do you have planned for us?” You ask, not missing Sam’s face fall slightly.
“It’s a surprise. Come on.” He says grabbing your hand and leading you outside.
supernatural s14e13 lebanon (w. meredith glynn, andrew dabb)
weird pre-ep recap, mishmash of clips and the music abruptly changing tone in between the punchy rock and then doom drone for the part about dean's box o' self destruction
apparently it was sam's turn to be a doofus around a bunch of magical/cursed/whatever items? not his usual bag
(script linked on wiki)
Tumblr media
ok then. they really did decide to take turns
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok, that was quick. is this supposed to be a fun episode?
Tumblr media
mmk
JACKSON Hey. The Campbell brothers. Lemme guess – the usual?
campbell brothers, of course
from 7x07 the mentalists MUSEUM GUIDE Never ended well for the siblings. DEAN Why is that? MUSEUM GUIDE Mm, the strain of working together, or maybe just being around each other all their lives. Those two were the exception, actually – the Campbells. Got along famously. Of course, that was just a stage name. They weren’t actually brothers. That was a cover for their, um… alternative lifestyle.
twofer of mary campbell and them.
DEAN Make it double. SAM Dean, listen to this. Uh, hangman’s rope, fairy dust, John Wayne Gacy’s cigar box.
wild guess that the episode will also involve a creepy clown ghost then
ELIOT I mean, think about it. Where do they even come from? Them or their weird sidekick with the trench coat. And what about that kid with the dumb Bambi on his face all the time?
see, that is the way to do it, poke fun at the show, not the fans
SAM It’s called the Baozhu. It’s one of eight ancient Chinese treasures. I-It’s a pearl that grants wishes. Sort of. DEAN Sort of? SAM Well, technically, it’s supposed to give you “what your heart desires.”
how very fanfic/disney
feels like the show has a lot of queer girl rep. charlie, claire and kaia, the girls in the musical, these teenaged girls. wiki has a list, of course
convenient that dean's been charming the townsfolk so he can work his magic with the post office clerk
DEAN A serial killer clown. I mean, this is, like, the best/worst thing that’s ever happened to you, you know, ‘cause you love serial killers, but – but you hate clowns. SAM Yeah, I get it, Dean.
ok, that was cute
ok WHAT is this music? i get it's like swelling emotional whatever (cute little sync with dean closing his eyes, i'll give them that) and gone kind of twisted maybe? but it just sounds like a string instrument that's playing out of tune too loudly. weird. i was gonna put a clip in but i gotta take it out for something else
Tumblr media
so i knew john showed up in an episode. must have been extremely wild to see that happen unspoiled. funny because i rant about john pretty regularly but now i'm like, oh, it's jeffrey dean morgan looking very nice and soft and confused. wait, i'm supposed to be very pissed at you. maybe i can just vibe with what sam and dean are feeling instead
JOHN Sammy. Aren’t you supposed to be in Palo Alto? SAM Palo Alto? JOHN What happened to you? DEAN What year is it? JOHN It’s 2003.
so it was always funny how they cast him being not much older than jackles, to play an older part obviously. so now i wonder if his actual age makes more sense to 2003-john. jdm was 37 in 2003 (born in 1966) and john was supposed to be 49 (born in 1954). and jdm for this episode (in 2019) was 53. hey, pretty good! the math is mathin
JOHN So, you saved the world? DEAN More than once. JOHN Then it’s all true. God, the devil, you boys smack in the middle. Now you live in a secret bunker with an angel and Lucifer’s kid.
co-parenting lucifer's kid, at that. best not to get into too many details of what's happened in the past 13 years because the absurdity is too much
Tumblr media Tumblr media
very sweet. 100% believe 2003 john was never this nice, but whatever y'all. i'm going (well, trying) with the flow
DEAN I don’t know. You said that the – the pearl gives you what your heart desires, right? So, my heart desired – I’ve wanted this, man. I’ve – I’ve wanted this since I was 4 years old. SAM Okay, I know, and I love this, too, Dean. I do, honestly, but – but messing with time – DEAN No, no, no, Sam. SAM You know how this ends. Things change. DEAN Yeah, great – we got our family back together. I’ll take that change. SAM That’s not what I mean. DEAN Stop. Just stop, okay? Look, can – can we just have one family dinner? Just one? Us – all of us together. That’s all I want. Can you just give me that?
i get both sides of this. one dinner is not too much to ask! but also, let's be practical about the whole time travel repercussions business (after dinner) and maybe sam's a little bit (lot) freaked out because of his dad baggage
all right. this is some of the most authentic acting i think i've seen jared do, and he does emotions like this really well to begin with. made me cry, of course. just... vulnerable in a way he isn't with dean, being on equal footing with him (and also dean not being dead the past 13 years). just can really feel that deference and shakiness with john. still don't buy that 2003 john would have this emotional intelligence, this feels like a john that's lived a lot longer a la jdm. but, this is the last time i'm gonna bring it up :p (along with if they can forgive him the child neglect etc, i can try too - for the moment at least 🤪) and sam's getting his much needed (apparently MUCH needed) closure. but no hug?? must be saving it for later.
and jdm's voice is luscious. reminds me of um. dude in the crow, michael wincott as top dollar
Tumblr media
lol what. well, this was a quick way to find out how bringing dad in fucked up the timeline
Tumblr media
ok but if sammy is off being a douchebag in this new timeline from bringing dad from 2003, how did the apocalypse not happen? like in apocalypse world, without them to stop it. must have gotten some other poor bastards to kick it off? eh whatever, nothing needs to make sense
SAM No, I don’t think so. I think it’s a temporal paradox. We pulled Dad here from 2003, right? So time is self-correcting. Our timeline is changing to this new one. DEAN So, what do you mean? SAM It means, I think, that, if we don’t fix this, then we become those other versions of ourselves. Like, for real. DEAN Okay, well, I’m cool, but you’re – ugh. SAM That’s not the point. The point is, if – if all this is different, then what else changed?
well my insides are screaming for them to get back to the bunker and fix this shit asap :p this is a very bonkers little plotline
Tumblr media
creative way to bring back zachariah at least, if they had to
LOL okay, i do approve of bringing him back and immediately killing him again though
Tumblr media
good thinkin on sam with the angel banishing sigil, appreciate the commitment to just having cas 100% on board with killing them both
DEAN Basically, uh, if you don’t go back, Sam never gets back into the life, um, and Mom, she, uh… JOHN What? DEAN Well, without everything that we did – with God, The Darkness – she never comes back. Sam thinks that she’ll just fade away. JOHN Okay. I mean, me versus your mom? That’s – that’s not even a choice. Does she know?
the rehabilitation of john winchester. wait i was supposed to going with the flow. anyway!
i'm sure i'm thinking too much about this but ok. it's 2003 and sam's at stanford and john disappears. and dean... doesn't go pick up sam, like he did when john disappeared in events right before the pilot? sam just blithely continues his normal life and veers into obnoxious ted talk raw food lawyer guy. so how many other people would still be alive in this timeline? and without having the benefit of saved lives via apocalypse-prevention, seems like it's potentially a net benefit. >.> unless those same quantity of people died anyway with some other hunter/vessel/whatevers
JOHN No, son. My fight. It was supposed to end with me, with Yellow Eyes. But now you – you are a grown man, and I am incredibly proud of you. I guess that I had hoped, eventually, you would… get yourself a normal life, a peaceful life, a family. DEAN I have a family.
whatever, got john back, he gets to be the good guy by happily going back to die in his regular timeline to let mary live now
JOHN Alright. Near as I can tell, we have two choices. Alright, we can think about what’s coming. Or we can be grateful for this time that we have together. Now, me… I choose grateful. So, to whatever brought us together, we owe you one. Amen.
okay, john.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
samantha smith and jdm really do have nice chemistry, especially considering they barely have worked together in these roles. would have been nice to hear the conversation instead of the schmaltzy montage to bob seger but i get it
Tumblr media
SAM Did you see them at dinner, the way they looked at each other? They just seemed happy, you know? It doesn’t feel fair to get all this and have to throw it away, and I know we have to. But it just feels like, you know… Once we send Dad back… it’s none of this ever happened. He – he just goes back to – to… to being Dad. DEAN You saying you wish things would be different?
(you saying you're okay in a world without us together)
Tumblr media
SAM Don’t you? Can you imagine – dad in the past, knowing then what he knows now? I… I think it would be nice. DEAN Yeah. I used to think that, too. But, uh… I mean, look, we’ve been through some tough times. There’s no denying that. SAM Yeah. DEAN And for the longest time, I blamed Dad. I mean, hell, I blamed Mom, too, you know? I was angry. But say we could send Dad back knowing everything. Why stop there? Why not send him even further back and let some other poor sons of bitches save the world? But here’s the problem. Who does that make us?
Tumblr media
Would we be better off? Well, maybe. But I gotta be honest – I don’t know who that Dean Winchester is. And I’m good with who I am. I’m good with who you are. ‘Cause our lives – they’re ours. And maybe I’m just too damn old to want to change that.
good with who they are, and who they are to each other. maybe projecting but i think sam still needs and soaks up that approval from dean
i understand that this is focusing on the original family unit and particularly on sam and dean, as the show always comes down to just them ultimately, but they could have also brought in the fact that they'd lose cas and jack in this timeline alteration idea (and jody, donna, the girls, etc). i mean, i'm glad they didn't, but i wouldn't have been surprised if they did. but feels kind of like in the conversation the previous episode when dean says he does believe in us (sam and dean). and then he sees cas, and says he believes in all of us. sam and dean first always
this seems to be a theme for me with later seasons. in isolation, i love these scenes between sam and dean. but for me they're cheapened by the premise or contrivances or whatever of the episodes they're in. so i can take these conversations, i could make gifs or edits or paintings, i could do whatever. but in the episode, they never ring as true as they do outside it. for me they make sense to the characters, but not the plot they're embedded in. which really bums me out, because i'm a rigid asshole about context. but i will also accept the crumbs because otherwise it's an even harder slog through this last handful of seasons.
JOHN You two. You take care of each other. SAM We always do.
man padalecki and jdm are just, killing it with the emotions. sam is a mess accepting that praise and approval from john too.
Tumblr media
thinking back to the first few seasons, jackles was so emotive and teared up a lot more for dean and he's turned into a really tough nut to crack later on. like he finally does break a little in this hug after the i love yous. based on how jensen has talked about other changes with dean (like say, his voice going deeper) i imagine he's got his reasons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
poor mary. one weird thing about this show is with heaven being a concrete thing, where we know who is there and how it works, prior to this mary was up there with the real john doing whatever, living in a loop of memories so not ideal but she was with him (do we know they're soulmates at this point? i know i've read it in the wiki that they are.) but anyway, just always the weird context of well yes they are dead but we know 100% we're seeing them again in heaven. you know, assuming heaven doesn't break down before getting there :p which of course is an actual concern now lol
jesus christ these posts just get longer and longer.
Breaking the Ice
✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══ ══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿
Serving three combat tours in Afghanistan had not been kind to Joe's knees and in case he'd forgotten, chaperoning his kids' ice skating fieldtrip was proving to be a mortifying reminder.
"I'm good, zisele, I promise," Joe assured Shira for the fourth or fifth time as he scooted himself to the railing and tried to ignore the sting of the icy slush soaking through his jeans.
The little girl erupted in a burst of laughter, not even trying to hide her amusement as she watched her father trying to haul himself to his feet once again.
"Daddy, c'mon!" her brother, Sammy called as he zoomed past, unintentionally sprinkling Joe's flannel with ice shavings. "Hurry up!"
"Gonna have to give me a second, buddy," the thirty year old responded with a rueful chuckle at his son's back, merely a blur among the sea of parents and preschoolers venturing onto the rink.
"Daddy's finding his footing again."
But just as he was straightening up, one skate drifted into a groove and the former paratrooper found himself flat on his ass again.
Fantastic.
"Did you want some help?" A bright voice asked and Joe looked up to see a goddamn angel standing above him.
It was Alix Martinelli, Gianna's mom.
They'd only briefly spoken a couple times on previous fieldtrips but the timing had been garbage. Joe had been in the middle of finalizing his divorce and as stunning as he thought Alix was, he still wouldn'tve felt right about pursuing anything with anyone until that whole tsuris was taken care of.
No need to drag her into his bullshit.
But Christ, was it hard to stay away from her, especially when she was so beautiful and so kindhearted that it almost hurt.
Her long, silky black hair framed her face beautifully, her sparkling black eyes danced even under the harsh rink lights, and that smile... Damn, that smile that made his heart thud in his chest like he'd just run a mile.
He was so mesmerized by her face and the graceful curves of her figure accented by her tight gray sweater that he hadn't even realized he'd gone slack-jawed until he heard a childish voice giggle,
"Mommy look, Shira's dad's staring!"
"Am not," Joe replied automatically as he managed to haul himself back to his feet again and that was when he saw his daughter coast in next to the little girl with the curly hair.
"Gianna, honey," the angel said and Joe was once again struck by the melodic tone of her voice.
"It's about time for lunch. Why don't you and your friend grab your lunchboxes and head over to the table where the coaches are. They're gonna show you guys some real Olympic medals while you eat! Isn't that fun?"
The little girls' faces lit up with excitement and Gianna gasped, "Oooh are they gonna be shiny?"
"The shiniest," the raven-haired woman assured her and that was all the preschoolers needed to hear.
Taking Shira's tiny hand in her own, the girls dashed off to the other side of the rink with ease.
"Can't believe I'm being shown up by 5 year olds," Joe snorted with a lopsided grin as he straightened up, still clinging to the railing for dear life and wobbling like Bambi on ice.
"I wouldn't take it too hard," Alix commented, her dark eyes twinkling like a glossy obsidian. "Skating's not as easy as it looks."
But the way the dark-haired woman was gliding along beside him made it hard to believe. She looked she was floating on air while Joe couldn't have been more earthbound.
Digging the toes of his skates into the slick ice to steady himself, the cabbie managed to stumble his way along like a newborn giraffe.
"Do you want to hold my hand?" the young woman offered and Joe nearly fell in his surprise.
Of course I fuckin' do, he wanted to blurt out. What man in his right mind wouldn't?!
But before he could get the words out, she added "You know, to steady yourself...so you can let go of the railing" and Joe felt his stomach sink.
But still, he'd take any opportunity to spend time with her.
"Sure!" he responded, mentally slapping himself for answering so quickly and with so much enthusiasm.
But Alix didn't seem to mind. With a warm smile that Joe felt in his chest, she laced her fingers with his and his stomach fluttered full of butterflies.
They both pushed off one skate and then the other, Joe's strides not half as confident as hers.
But nonetheless, having her hand in his and the other around his waist really did seem to steady him.
"There, you're getting it," she encouraged. "Right...Left...Right...Left..."
The rhythm reminded him vaguely of his time in the Army, the marching in time.
But the woman beside him was a lot cuter than his drill sergeants, of that he was damn sure.
"By the way, chaperoning three fieldtrips with me in two months?" Alix teased lightly as they skated along.
"If I didn't know better, Mr. Liebgott, I'd think you might like spending time with me."
Ah shit, she noticed.
"Thought I toldja last time you can call me Joey," he remarked, clumsily avoiding the playful accusation.
"Alright Joey," she repeated, a small smirk teasing invitingly at the corner of her lips. "Am I right?"
Stay cool, Joe, stay cool. You got this.
But before he could find the words, he heard the coaches over the crackling microphone finishing up their presentation and Alix's head perked up at the sound.
They were needed again.
"Duty calls," she joked with a small smile as she let go of his hand and Joe allowed himself a smirk.
"Back into the fray," he agreed.
Straightening up as they came to the exit of the rink, the pair wobbled their way onto the carpeting to the nearby benches.
Alix already had her skates off and draped over her shoulder, casting one final look at the rink before starting off back toward their eager charges when Joe found his voice.
He couldn't let her walk away again. He might not get another shot.
"Hey Alix!" he blurted out and when she turned to look at him, those entrancing black eyes glimmering with curiosity, he almost lost his courage.
"Dinner tonight? If, uh, if you ain't got somethin' better to do, I mean? I can get a babysitter...if you're interested, that is."
Christ, he was babbling.
It was like his mouth just wouldn't stop talking!
What was it about this woman that made him feel like a nervous high schooler again?
Just then her phone buzzed and Joe swore internally when she glanced at it.
Probably her boyfriend, he thought bitterly as she smiled at the screen. Or her husband. He should've known.
But when she looked back up at him, she was practically beaming.
"I'd love to!" she bubbled and Joe's brows shot to the ceiling.
"No kiddin', you would?"
"Of course!" she replied brightly before giving him a wide smile and dangling her phone for him to see.
"That was the sitter confirming, by the way."
Wait... she'd already planned on having dinner with him?
Joe knew he must look as dumbfounded as he felt.
"How did you know?" he asked as he caught up to her, a little bit stunned by her perceptiveness. "That I was gonna ask?"
"I didn't," she answered with a simple shrug and another glowing smile that made his heart skip a beat. "I'd just hoped."
Before he could think of a clever reply, the two were suddenly separated by a horde of babbling children, all chattering at a mile a minute about the coaches' presentation, about the ice skating, about their lunches, about everything under the sun.
Managing to get them all lined up so Alix could do a head count before they left was like herding cats but he'd gotten it done.
As they made their way outside, Joe dug a hand into his pocket and heard the crinkling of paper.
Figuring it was a receipt he'd forgotten to throw away, he tugged it out but in his shock, nearly dropped it.
It was a torn scrap of paper from what looked like the corner of a notepad and on it was Alix's name, a phone number, and a short message asking him to dinner.
She must've slipped it into his pocket while they had been skating!
With a gleeful shake of his head, Joe folded the paper neatly before placing it back into his pocket for safekeeping.
She's somethin' else, he thought, shaking his head with a fond grin as he unlocked his car and helped the children in.
She's somethin' else.
Chapter 5 Wendigo Part 2
Pairing: Dean x Oc(Nicole)
Word count: 9.8k
Tumblr media
The next day the three of us headed toward the forest. I could see Haley, her younger brother, Ben, and an older man I didn't recognize from inside Baby. Ben was carrying a shotgun and all of them were carrying full backpacks. It looked like they were talking but we could hear exactly what they were saying. Whatever they were saying it didn't look like the older man and Haley were agreeing.
Dean parked the impala in front of them. We exited the car and I handed over the duffle bag to Sammy.
"You guys got room for three more?" Dean announced.
I stood in between Sammy and Dean. "Wait, you wanna come with us?" Haley asked, confused.
"Who are these guys?" The older man asked and quite rudely I might add.
Haley turned back to look at the older man, "Apparently, this is all the park service could muster up for the search and rescue." She responded sarcastically.
Sammy headed past everyone while still carrying the duffle bag. I stared at him concerned but decided it was best if I stayed with Dean. "You're rangers?" The man said confused and unbelieving. "Her too?" He said pointing at me.
"That's right," Dean said, answering for us.
I jutted out my hips "What? Is it my dress? Or is it my heels?" I asked sarcastically. I was wearing a red plaid dress with a black belt to give it form, along with my usual black boot heels, and a small black jacket.
"And you're hiking out in biker boots, jeans, a dress, and heels?" Haley asked, rightfully confused.
Dean looked down at himself and turned to look at me. His eyes went up and down my figure. "Well, sweetheart, I don't do shorts," Dean said, walking past them and heading toward Sammy.
"Oh, and for the record I never wear pants. Don't worry I can perfectly hike in my heels so don't worry about me slowing the group down." I said, giving them a fake smile as I walked past them.
"Oh, you think this is funny? It's dangerous backcountry out there. Her brother might be hurt." The older man said to us, irked.
Three of us turned to look at him. "Believe me, I know how dangerous it can be. We just wanna help them find their brother, that's all." Dean explained to him.
Dean and I continued to walk heading past Sammy. I looked behind me and noticed that Sammy had not moved from his position "Sammy! Come on!" I called out to him
We were hiking and wandering through the forest. We found out the older man's name was Roy. Roy was leading the hike with Dean and me directly behind him. Sammy decided to stay behind with Ben.
"So, Roy, you said you did a little hunting," Dean asked, repeating Roys's statement.
"Yeah, more than a little," Roy replied.
"Uh-huh. What kind of furry critters do you hunt?" Dean questioned Roy while his eyes wandered up and down the forest.
"Mostly buck, sometimes bear," Roy answered.
Dean moved and passed Roy "Tell me, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?" Dean mocked. Roy stopped moving.
Roy didn't seem like the type of person to let someone pass him. Unless he intentionally stopped. My eyes flickered toward the floor and I noticed a bear trap.
Before I could say or do anything Roy had already grabbed Dean by the collar. "Whatcha you doing, Roy?" Dean threatened.
I could feel my heart rate speed up. No ranger would have almost fallen into a bear trap. Our cover’s been blown but at least it'll be easier to move around now. I decided it would be best to not say anything and let Dean handle it.
Roy let go of Dean's collar and picked up a stick. He poked the bear trap that Dean almost stepped into. I tried to stay calm and keep a stoic face.
"You should watch where you are stepping, ranger," Roy said with a knowing smile on his face. He dropped the stick and started walking ahead of us.
I hesitantly walked up to Dean, placing a hand on his arm. I could see he had a pout on his face. I turned my face to the floor and tried not to laugh. He felt embarrassed, it was too adorable.
"It was a bear trap." He laughed, turning back to look at Sammy.
We continued hiking. I looped my right arm with Dean´s, behind us I could hear fast and heavy footsteps. It didn't seem heavy enough to be any sort of creature and it was too light to be Sammy.
I turned to my left and saw that Haley had caught up with us "You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffle bag. You're not rangers. So who the hell are you?" She snapped, pulling both Dean and me to look at her.
I could see Ben pass by us. Sammy followed, slightly behind him. He slowed down and stood behind Haley, he looked at us as if his eyes were asking what we wanted him to do. Dean indicates with his expression that he should just walk by.
I pointed in Ben's direction with my thumb hinting at him that he should watch over the young boy. We watched Sammy walk past us before Dean turned back to address Haley.
"Sammy, Nikki, and I are siblings, and we’re looking for our father. He might be here, we don't know. I just figured that you and us, we’re in the same boat." Dean briefly explained.
"Why didn't you just tell me that from the start?" Haley asked.
"I'm telling you now." Dean retorted.
"Ahem, what Dean means to say is that we were worried you wouldn't let us join you had you known that we weren't rangers. We are looking for our father but if you'll allow us we would also like to help you find your brother." I told her, trying to cover up and clarify our situation. She was bound to find out eventually but we couldn't tell her everything.
"That's what you meant by you understood more than I knew, isn't it?" Haley asked me.
I only nodded my head in response. There was a slight pause "Besides, it's probably the most I've ever been honest with a woman…ever. So we okay?" Dean joked. My eyes and mouth widened in shock and surprise. Oh, I wasn't about to let that joke go so easily. I pursed my lips. I was going to enjoy this, oh yes I was.
"Yeah, okay," Haley replied.
"And what do you mean I didn't pack provisions?" Dean said as he pulled out a bag of peanut M&Ms and stuck his hand in the bag as the two of us continued to hike on.
"Ahem." I cleared my throat to gain his attention.
"Mhm," Dean replied with his mouth full of M&Ms.
"Most I've ever been honest with a woman, hmm," I repeated his words.
He nervously chuckled, "I was joking you know that." He mumbled with his mouth still full of M&Ms.
"So either I'm not a woman or you haven't been completely honest with me. Which one do you wanna go with?" I teased him.
"Uhh." He said with a blank expression on his face. It became hard to keep a straight face when he looked so cute.
I burst out laughing, trying to cover my face with my hands. When I finished laughing I turned to look back at him. He looked so confused.
I sighed at his cuteness "Don't worry. I was only teasing you" I giggled, lopping my arms through his as we continued to hike.
I could hear him sigh in relief "I swear you are going to be the death of me, woman."
"Maybe." I chuckled.
Roy continued to lead us, this time with me and Dean at the back. Roy came to a stop "This is it. Blackwater Ridge." Roy said.
Sammy heads past Roy "What coordinates are we at?" He asked.
Roy pulled out a GPS "Thirty-five at minus one-eleven." Roy replied.
Something didn't seem right about this place, there was something off. Dean and I walked up to Sammy. I closed my eyes and focused on my surroundings. There wasn't a single sound. Not a chirp or croak.
"You hear that?" Dean asked as I opened my eyes.
"Yeah. Not even crickets." Sammy responded as we all looked into the woods.
"I'm gonna go take a look around." I heard Roy say.
The three of us turned around "You shouldn't go off by yourself." Sammy advised.
"That's sweet. Don't worry about me." Roy mocked while he waved his gun. He pushed through us and retook the lead.
"All right, everybody stays together. Let's go." Dean said as we continued to walk.
We were all looking around near a large rock when we heard Roy.
"Haley! Over here!" Roy called.
Haley immediately ran towards Roys's voice, with us tailing right behind her. We all came to a stop.
"Oh my god," Haley muttered. We all stood in front of a couple of tents. They were torn open and bloody with all the supplies scattered.
"Looks like a grizzly." Roy voiced.
I looked at Haley. She looked distraught but who could blame her? It looked like a massacre. I stood close to Haley to ensure she wouldn't do something brash. Dean, Haley, and I looked around the tents. There was nothing left untouched. We can only hope Tommy was still alive considering how much blood was on the tent someone must've died.
"Tommy? Tommy!" Haley called out. She took off her backpack and went through the campsite. Sammy and I rushed over to catch up with her.
"Shh." We shushed her.
 "Tommy!" She screamed.
"Shh-sh-sh." Sammy hushed.
"Let's not do that again, okay?" I said to Haley.
"Why?" She questioned.
"Something might still be out there." Sammy finished for me.
"Exactly. You can't exactly be too careful out here." I replied.
"Sam! Nicole!" We heard Dean shout. Sammy and I ran over to Dean, once we found him we crouched down next to him.
"The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks just vanish. It's weird." Dean pointed out.
We stood up. "I'll tell you what…It's no Skinwalker or Black dog." Dean said and walked off. Sammy and I lingered to look at the tracks before following suit.
As we walked back to the campsite we saw Haley crouched on the floor and holding something in her hands. I could see tears falling from her eyes. Dean and I kneeled down next to her. The poor girl. I rubbed her back in hopes to give her some sort of comfort. I would try and ease her pains in more supernatural ways but that would leave me too drained to fight.
There was a bloody cell phone in her hands. The back of the phone was open. "Hey, he could still be alive." Dean tried to comfort her.
I squeezed her shoulders "Have faith. We will get him back." I reassured her.
"Help!" We heard a man's voice cry out. Dean and I instantly stood up and looked in the direction of the voice.
We all rushed over to the voice. Dean took out his gun in case. Roy led the way as we all ran to aid the man who was shouting.
"Help me!" The man cried.
When we got there we couldn't find anyone. "It seemed like it was coming from around here, didn't it?" Haley voiced out.
There was something off about this forest. I stood there and listened. There it was again. There wasn't a single sound. Not a rustle of the leaves or crickets. Complete and total silence.
"Everybody back to camp," Sammy ordered.
We all ran back to the campsite but when we got there all of the supplies were missing "Our packs." Haley pointed out.
"This isn't some normal creature. It's smart. It has some form of understanding. It knew that the packs were important or at least useful and stole them while we went off." I thought. I started to think and eliminate what the creature could be. Only so many of them had some form of intelligence or comprehension. "It couldn't be. Could it?" I pondered.
"So much for my GPS and my satellite phone," Roy said as he knelt down to look at the campsite.
"What the hell is going on?" Haley asked.
"It's smart. It wants to cut us off so we can’t call for help." Sammy analyzed.
"You mean someone, some nut job out there just stole all our gear." Roy corrected Sam.
"I don't think that’s the case. Think about it. Do you really think it's such a coincidence that the moment we leave the packs unattended they somehow go missing?" I asked.
I saw Sammy walk up and whisper something to Dean. Soon enough Dean motions for me to follow them. I walked a little faster to catch up to them. We headed a little ways away from the group to have a little privacy.
Once we were far enough and knew that they weren't able to hear us, "Okay. Let me see Dad’s journal." Sammy asked as Dean handed it over. Sammy opened and flipped through the journal until he stopped at a particular page.
"So what is it?" I questioned.
"All right, check that out." Sammy showed us a first nations-style drawing of a Wendigo.
"Oh, come on. Wendigos are in the Minnesota woods or, or northern Michigan. I've never heard of one this far west." Dean said, trying to reason with Sam.
"I don't know Dean. I think I'm with Sammy on this one. I've thought it over and there isn't any other creature that it could be." I explained.
"Think about it, Dean, the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice," Sammy said.
"Great. Well, then this is useless." Dean said as he pulled out his pistol.
Sammy gave Dean back Dad's journal. He headed past us, then stopped for a moment as he turned to face us, "We gotta get these people to safety." Sammy said as he walked off back to the campsite.
"Come on let's head back," I said while patting Dean's shoulder and walking back to the group.
As I got there I heard Sammy say "All right, listen up, it's time to go. Things have gotten…more complicated."
"What?" Haley voiced out.
"Kid, don't worry. Whatever's out there I think I can handle it." Roy said, cockily.
"It's not me I'm worried about. If you shoot this thing, you're just gonna make it mad. We have to leave. Now." Sam ordered.
"One, you're talking nonsense. Two you're in no position to give anybody orders."Roy argued.
"Relax," Dean said in a threatening way.
"We never should have let you come out here in the first place. All right? I'm trying to protect you." Sam explained.
I looked back and forth between Sammy, Roy, and, the two siblings. I could tell that both Sammy and Roy were becoming more and more agitated. From the looks of it, the siblings weren't planning on leaving either.
"You protect me? I was hunting these woods when your mommy was still kissing you goodnight." Roy retorted as he invaded Sam's personal space.
My eyes widened and immediately darted toward Sam. It was easy to see that Roy had struck a nerve. I wasn't ready t get caught in the crossfire just yet so I waited.
"Yeah? It's a damn near-perfect hunter. It's smarter than you, and it's gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry ass out of here." Sam retaliated as calmly as he could.
"You know your crazy right?" Roy laughed.
"Yeah? You ever hunt a Wen-" Sammy was cut off by Dean pushing him.
I rushed toward them and whispered to Sammy, "Calm down, okay? We don't need them knowing what's out there."
"Roy!" Haley called out.
"Chill out," Dean told Sam.
"Stop. Stop it. Everybody just stops. Look, Tommy might still be alive and I'm not leaving here without him." Haley interrupted getting in between everybody. There was a sense of finality in her voice and I could tell there was no convincing her to leave at least not without her brother. If he's still alive that is.
I looked to Dean and Sam for confirmation and by the look of things, they came to the same conclusion as me.
After a pregnant pause, Dean spoke, "It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night. Well never beat it, not in the dark. We need to settle and protect ourselves."
"How?" Haley asked.
I gathered some sticks and placed them in the campfire. From the corner of my eye, I could see Dean drawing the symbols in the dirt.
"One more time, that's-" Haley's question was cut short.
"Anasazi symbols. It's for protection. The Wendigo cant cross over them." Dean explained for the nth time.
Roy laughed mockingly with his gun over his shoulder. Dean and I turn to face him "Nobody likes a skeptic, Roy." Dean said.
"Better safe than sorry as they say." I voiced out.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sammy who looked a bit dazed. Dean seemed to notice as well. The two of us headed over to sit down next to Sammy. Dean sat on his left while I sat on his right.
"You wanna tell us what's going on in that freaky head of yours?" Dean asked.
"Dean-" Sammy was cut off.
"No, you're not fine. You're like a powder keg, man, it's not like you. I'm supposed to be the belligerent one, remember?" Dean said trying to comfort Sam.
After a long pause "Dad´s not here, I mean, that much we know for sure, right? He would have left us a message, a sign, right?" Sam murmured.
I could tell he was frustrated that much was evident. I laid my head against his shoulder while rubbing his back trying to bring him some comfort and calm him down. I already had my hands full with Dean I didn't need another reckless brother on my hands.
"Yeah, you're probably right. To tell you the truth, I don't think Dad’s ever been to Lost Creek." Dean admitted.
"Then let's get these people back to town and let's hit the road. Go find Dad. I mean why are we still here." Sam was irked as he hit the ground with a stick.
At those words, Dean moved to sit in front of Sam and me, "This is why." Dean said, showing us Dad's journal.
"This book. This is Dad's single most valuable possession. Everything he knows about every evil thing is in here and he's passed it on to us. I think he wants us to pick up where he's left off. You know, saving people. Hunting things. The family business." Dean explained.
Sammy shook his head, "That makes no sense. Why doesn't he just—call us? Why doesn't he—tell us what he wants, tell us where he is?" He questioned.
"Sammy, believe me when I say I—we don't have all the answers. We are just as lost and confused as you are but there is always a reason. Dad must have his reasons whether we will ever know those reasons is up to Dad." I said trying to comfort him. He must understand that we are here for him and that he isn't the only one seeking answers. We are all in the same boat. We are in this together.
"As Nikki said I dunno but the way I see it, Dad´s giving us a job to do, and I intend to do it." Dean
"Dean, Nikki, no. I gotta find Dad. I gotta find Jessica’s killer. It's the only thing I can think about." Sam said desperately. It wasn't easy seeing him like this. It hurt me so much. I felt my eyes sting with tears and my chest burn.
I wrapped my arms around him and nuzzled my head in his neck. The burning sensation rose into my throat as the tears fell from my face. "Okay, all right, Sam, we'll find them, I promise. Listen to me. You've gotta prepare yourself. I mean this search could take a while, and all that anger, you can't keep it burning over the long haul. It's gonna kill you. You gotta have patience man." Dean explained trying to reason with Sam.
Sam looked down at the ground with tears brimming in his eyes. He looked at Dean and I "How do you guys do it? How does Dad do it" He asked.
I laid my head back on his shoulder. I could see Dean look back at the camp. "Well for one, them," Dean said looking toward Haley and Ben.
Sammy and I followed suit. "I mean, I figure our family's so screwed to hell, maybe we can help some others. Make things a little more bearable." Dean said.
There was a pause of silence as Sammy looked at Haley and Ben. "I'll tell you what else helps." Dean started as Sammy looked back at him.
"Killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly can," Dean said which brought a small smile to Sammy's face.
"You know what helps me," I whispered making both of their heads turn to me. "Thinking of you guys. As messed up as our family is I wouldn't trade it for the world. There isn't anywhere else in the world Id rather be than be with you guys." I said softly while bringing the two closer to me. I felt Dean peck my temple and Sammy squeeze my shoulders for a side hug.
"Help me! Please!" We heard someone scream. The three of us immediately stood up and went to patrol the area. Dean and I had guns at the ready while Sammy was shining a flashlight.
"Help!" The voice continued to scream.
"He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put." Dean advised.
"Inside the magic circle." Roy mocked.
"Help! Help me ple-" The voice was cut off by an animalistic growl.
"Okay, that's no grizzly," Roy said while pointing his gun toward the sound. Dean and I slowly moved closer in the direction of the sound.
From my peripheral vision, I could see Haley pull her brother closer to her. As she pulled herself and her brother toward the ground I could hear her comforting words "It's okay. You'll be alright. I promise." I wasn't sure if she was trying to reassure herself or her brother more.
We heard something growl and rush past us making Haley shriek in the process. Roy, Dean, and I all had our guns pointed in the general direction of the sound.
"It's here," Sam said.
Before we could do anything Roy started haphazardly shooting in the general direction of the sounds. "I hit it." He exclaimed and started running into the forest to see what he had hit.
"Roy, no, Roy," Dean screamed calling out to the man.
"Stop!" I tried to warn him.
Dean and I turned to Haley and Ben. "Don't move" Dean ordered before running after Roy with Sam.
I decided to stay with Haley and Ben in case the monster decided to come back. I wasn't about to leave them here helpless like sitting ducks. I made sure to keep them close to me.
"Okay, let's move back inside the circle okay," I said calmly while ushering them back to the campsite.
Once we were back inside the circle I seated them both back on the log and took the burning stick from Haley's hand and tossed it back into the campfire.
I sat down next to Haley with my legs crossed and my gun in hand just in case. I could see they were both a little dazed.
After the shock had reeled in and reality started to set in, Haley started to tremble. Ben shifted closer to her and tried to comfort her but nothing seemed to work. "I-that-what-" She stuttered.
"We don't need to talk about it now. It's a lot to take in for both of you. I can tell. It isn't easy, believe me. How about you two try to get some sleep okay? I'll keep watch so you don't need to worry. We're safe here." I said in the softest way possible. They were both terrified and scared. I could feel it in the air.
I had to stay calm. Although I won't be able to touch them, that doesn't mean I still can't influence how they feel. Touching them does make the effect stronger but I can still manipulate the atmosphere around us.
If I stayed calm sooner or later they should feel comfortable enough to get some rest. It took a while but once they felt comfortable enough they leaned next to each other to try and get some rest.
I could feel my eyes drooping. They felt heavy and wanted rest but I had to wait for Sam and Dean first. This wasn't my first rodeo. It felt uncomfortable to be left alone with only the silence and my thoughts to keep me company.
I heard rustling from the leaves along with footsteps. I turned to see Sam and Dean "So? What happened?" I whispered to not wake the two siblings.
I slowly stood up and walked closer to check on them. I pulled Sammy's head to my level and turned his head as I checked for any wounds or scratches.
"Not sure. It was fast and too dark to see anything. Whatever happened all we know is that Roy´s gone." Sammy explained. Once I was sure that he wasn't injured I pulled away and went to check on Dean.
"So what now?" I asked as I inspected Dean's face.
"Would you stop that?" Dean said while pushing my hands off his face to stop me from smothering him.
"Well sue me I can't be worried about my boyfriend anymore?" I sassed and jutted out my hip with my arms crossed over my chest. In the background, I could hear Sammy snicker at our bickering.
I turned around to look at Sammy, "And what's so funny Mr?" I asked with a small smile on my face.
Sammy cleared his throat trying to compose himself "Nothing, nothing, just uh-anyway best course of action is to wait for daylight yeah hm." He said awkwardly.
"Sammy's right we should get some rest then first thing in the morning we go kill that evil son of a bitch." Dean said.
"What are we going to do about those two?" I asked as I turned to point toward the sleeping siblings.
"I'm not sure but chances are they aren´t leaving anytime soon," Sammy said moving to sit down on a log.
"And the wendigo?" I asked as I took a seat next to Sam.
"Well our equipment is practically useless but I'm sure we can figure something out," Dean said plopping down to my left.
I laid my head on Dean's shoulder as my eyes started to droop. I felt Dean pull me closer as he placed his head on top of mine and his hand on my waist. I tugged Sammy's hand and pointed toward my shoulder. Before I knew it I felt a weight on my shoulder.
"Goodnight I love you, boys," I whispered before I let my heavy eyelids drop. I pray that tomorrow will be easier. That was the last thought I had before I let sleep take over my body.
When I woke up the boys were already gone and I was lying down on the ground with Dean's jacket over my shoulders. I sat up looking up at the sky. It was still a little dark so I could only assume it was around five to six in the morning. I slowly stood up to look for Sam and Dean.
As I dusted myself I turned to see that the two siblings were still asleep. At least they had a good night's sleep. Once I finished cleaning myself I strolled around the camp in search of the two boys.
I walked around with Dean's jacket over my shoulders. I strolled around aimlessly until I saw a small mop of brown hair sticking up from a stump. I quietly tiptoed my way to Sammy. Once I was close enough I jerked his shoulders to scare him.
He turned around and glared at me, "Not funny." He muttered.
"Aw, I'm sorry I couldn't help myself but you should be more aware of your surroundings," I said as I slowly slid down to sit next to him.
I saw that he had dad's journal in his hands as he stared off into space. I bumped against his shoulder to gain his attention, "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, just thinking." He replied.
"Sammy I know you better than that what's really bothering you," I asked him again.
"I just can't help but think about Jess and dad and-" He sighed, cutting himself off.
I leaned against him "Hey, it's okay. You're under a lot of stress. I'm not gonna force you to talk if you don't want to but Dean and I are here if you need us okay? You're not alone. We're facing this together as a family." I tried consoling him.
"Yeah." He murmured.
"I'm gonna go look for Dean wanna come with?" I offered as I stood up, dusted my clothes, and pointed in the direction of the campsite.
"No thanks. I'm gonna stay here for a little longer." He answered.
"Okay." I rubbed his shoulder as I turned to leave.
I walked back toward the camp and saw Dean surveying the area. I pulled his jacket closer to me as I neared him.
I leaned against a tree while I watched him walk around the bloodied campsite without his jacket. It was an odd sight, to say the least. It was rare for me for anyone really to see him without his jacket outside.
"You know I don't like waking up alone," I whispered from behind him.
"Well, you looked like you needed the extra sleep, and did I mention you look so much better with that jacket on." He said, as turned to look at me and proceeded to walk closer to me.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer as I instinctively snaked my arms around his neck. "That's beside the point. It doesn't matter if I needed more sleep, what matters is that we get those people to safety and I think you look much better with your jacket on." I replied as I took the jacket off my shoulders and helped him put on his jacket.
"Whatever you say, sweetheart." He retorted as he continued to survey the campsite.
After an hour had passed both of the siblings were awake and they were seated in the campsite among the tents as Dean and I inspected every corner.
"I don't...I mean, these types of things, they aren't supposed to be real." Haley stammered.
"I wish I could tell you different," Dean said nonchalantly as he walked toward her to face her. While I continued to look for useful materials around the camp.
Unfortunately, Dean and I could only find an empty beer bottle. Without any lighter fluid, everything else was useless. For now, we could only scrummage around until we find some sort of flammable liquid.
"How do we know it's not out there watching us?" I heard Haley ask.
"We don't but we're safe for now," Dean replied.
"How do you know about this stuff?" She questioned.
I stopped my search for a moment. I turned to look at both Dean and Haley. I saw Dean pause and consider his options before answering "Kind of runs in the family." Dean said before walking away.
As my eyes flickered between Dean and Haley I almost tripped and fell on my face. I was walking without paying attention. Thankfully I caught myself with a tree. I looked down to see what nearly tripped me. I saw that it was a can. I curiously picked it up to inspect it. It was a canister of lighter fluid.
"What are the chances of that!?" I thought incredulously as my eyes widened.
"Hey." I heard Sammy say from behind me. I turned around to walk toward the group with the container in my hand.
"So we've got half a chance in the daylight. And I, for one...wanna kill this evil son of a bitch." Sammy breathed out bitterly.
"Well, hell, you know I'm in," Dean replied.
"And you sure as hell ain't leaving me out here." I sassed with a cheeky smile on my face and my hands on my hips.
Sammy pulled out Dad's journal. While he flipped through the journal I walked over to Dean to show him my find.
I tapped him on the shoulder to gain his attention. "Look what I found," I said as I gently shook the lighter fluid.
He took it in his hand "Good job how'd you find it?" He whispered as he caressed my head.
"Let's not talk about that," I murmured turning my head to hide my embarrassment. Thankfully he didn't question me further.
"Wendigo is a Cree Indian word. It means evil that devours." Sammy read off the journal as he showed Haley and Ben.
 "They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes an Indian, or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter." Dean explained as he walked past the two siblings with the canister in hand.
"How's a man turn into one of those things?" Haley asked.
"Well, it's always the same. During some harsh winter, a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp." Dean answered as he picked up a couple of things off the ground.
"Like the Donner Party," Ben commented.
"Poor creatures really. Truly is a shame that we can't do more for them." I sighed as I placed my hands on my face.
"Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality." Sammy elaborated.
"If you eat enough of it, over years, you become this less-than-human thing. You're always hungry." Dean explained.
"So if that's true, how can Tommy still be alive?" Haley asked.
I cringed away not wanting to tell her the answer. "You're not gonna like it," Dean warned her as he glanced at Sam and me before turning back to look at Haley.
"Tell me." Haley insisted.
"More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It, uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother´s alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back here." Dean answered.
"And then how do we stop it?" She questioned.
"Well, guns are useless, so are knives. Basically, we gotta torch the sucker." Dean said as he held up the can of lighter fluid, a beer bottle, and the white cloth.
Dean, Sam, and I were planning our next course of action while Haley and Ben were seated behind us on a log, waiting
"Why are we sitting around and doing nothing while Tommy could still be out there!" I heard Haley exclaim from behind us.
Before Dean or Sam could move a muscle I placed my hands on either of their shoulders "I'll handle this. I'm sure you two can take care of the rest without me." I whispered as I walked past them and moved toward Haley.
"Haley, I understand how you feel but we can't just start walking around without a plan." I calmly explained.
"But-" I cut her off before she could start.
"We want you and your brother as safe as possible. We need to be cautious because frankly, we are stuck here without any necessary supplies. What we need right now is not to panic but to think logically." I told her with a stoic expression on my face with hopes that if I stayed calm she would follow suit.
I placed a hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her "I know you're worried about Tommy but right now you need to be strong for your brother that's right here. He needs you just as much as Tommy. I know it's a lot to ask, believe me, I do." I said as I motioned for her to take a seat next to Ben.
I took a deep breath and started rubbing her shoulder, as I concentrated on taking away her stress. "We'll be moving soon, okay? We just needed a little time to prepare." I said as I saw her take a deep breath.
I lifted my hand off her shoulder as she moved closer to Ben. "What is he doing?" Haley asked as she looked at Dean.
I was caught off guard by her question. "A-uh molotov cocktail." I stuttered.
"A what?" Haley questioned.
"A molotov cocktail. It's a hand-thrown incendiary weapon. In simpler terms, it's a weapon designed to cause a fire. It's usually made of a frangible container filled with a flammable liquid and a fuse. Because of their relative ease of production, they are commonly used by criminals and rioters." I explained.
I wasn't sure if she fully understood what I said or if she was even listening at all but I knew that more often than not when civilians get involved in our world they go into a state of shock and dysphoria. Especially since all of this happened over a short period of time because of that some people like to focus on tiny details to distract themselves from the current situation. This doesn't only happen when people get involved with the supernatural this happens in all sorts of stressful situations. I could only hope that this was some form of distraction for her to ease her mind.
I stood up and dusted off my dress. I walked over to Dean and Sam when I noticed Dean had finished. "Are we ready to go?" I queried.
Dean was leading the way as we walked through the forest with the molotov cocktail in his hand. We followed a trail of claw marks and blood on the trees.
I walked behind Haley and Ben as I looked at the trees. I couldn't help but get an uneasy feeling as I trailed behind.
"Dean, Nicole" I heard Sammy call from in front of the group.
Dean and I caught up with Sammy to see what he was looking at "What is it?" Dean asked as we stopped behind Sammy.
I caught Sammy's gaze and looked up to see a plethora of bloody claw marks and broken branches everywhere surrounding us. As I stared at the trees I couldn't help but break into a cold sweat.
"Guys I have a bad feeling about this," I muttered as I shuffled toward Dean to calm myself down.
"You know, I was thinking, those claw prints, so clear and distinct. They were almost too easy to follow." Sammy scoffed.
As soon as Sammy finished his sentence I could hear growling all around us in different directions. This wendigo was smarter than we gave it credit for. It led us with a trail of claw marks and blood into a trap where it could surround us. In every direction, my head turned there was another growl and a rustle in the bushes.
I immediately moved in front of Haley as I saw that she was further away from us. As I stood in front of Haley I felt something drip onto my shoulder. I whipped my head to look at the red splotches on my shoulder. I slowly tilted my head upward to see a body dangling from the tree.
I could hear Haley scream from behind me as the body started falling toward us. I took her arm and pulled us out of the way of the plunging body. We tripped and fell as the body landed in front of us. I landed on my bottom with Haley on my lap.
I glanced at the body and my eyes widened when I saw Roys's face. Even though I didn't like him, no one deserved to die like this. Dean dashed to examine his body while Sammy rushed toward Haley and me.
"You two okay? You got it?" Sammy asked as he helped Haley and me get up.
"Damn it, His neck´s broke." As Dean said that more growling came from the bushes.
"All right, come on," Sammy said trying to comfort Haley as he helped her.
"Okay, run, run, run! Go, go, go!" Dean ordered while he placed his hand on my back to guide me as we ran.
We ran as fast as we could through the forest and soon enough we were all running on our own instead of as a group. I ran faster and faster and I could feel my legs start to burn, blood rushing to my ears and pure survival instinct kicked in.
I could no longer see Dean, Sam, Haley, or Ben, I came to a halting stop once I realized I was alone. My chest was heaving as I breathed. I was basically screwed. I was alone with no weapon. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Panicking would only make things worse.
Even though I was alone I couldn't hear or feel anything ominous around me which was a good sign. I weighed my options.
"On one hand screaming for help would only put me at more risk. Sam and Dean might hear me if I called for help but I would also risk calling the Wendigo. But I can't just wait here like a sitting duck either." I thought as I pulled my hair in frustration.
"My best course of action right now is to start retracing my steps in hopes that I didn't get too far away from the others." I thought to myself as I started to walk back in the opposite direction.
As I continued to walk I couldn't help but think about what happened to the others. I could only hope they were alright. As I walked I heard a familiar voice laugh from a distance and say "...than breadcrumbs"
"Sammy! Sammy!" I called out as I sprinted in the direction of the voice.
"Nikki!" I heard him call out and soon enough I saw a walking sasquatch with a mop of brown hair.
"Sammy! Oh, thank god your okay!" I exclaimed as I ran up to squeeze the life out of him. I felt him wrap his arms around me and place his head over my own.
"We thought you were taken by the wendigo too," Sammy whispered as he held me tighter.
It took me a second to comprehend his sentence. "Wait, what do you mean ´too´?" I asked as I moved out of his arms to look at his face.
"I tripped as we ran away and Sam came back to help me. Haley and Dean were up ahead and before we could reach them we heard Haley scream. By the time that we got there, all there was left was that." I looked at Ben from behind Sammy as he explained and pointed toward the molotov cocktail in Sammy's hand.
"I'm sorry." Ben apologized with his eyes downcasted.
I slowly walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him. "No, no, you did nothing wrong. I'm just glad you two are safe. We´ll find your brother and your sister okay." I told him as I hugged him.
"So do you guys have any idea of where they could've gone?" I asked as I turned to look at Sam.
"They went in that direction," Sammy said, pointing at a trail of M&Ms.
I laughed as I walked toward the trail of colorfully candy-coated chocolate. "What are we waiting for? Hansel and Gretel are waiting for us." I chuckled as I followed the trail of M&Ms.
We continued to follow the trail and we ended up in front of a mine entrance. The mine seemed to be abandoned with trees, mold, and moss overrunning the entrance. As we walked closer I noticed the entrance was slightly barricaded and closed off with a bright red sign on it.
It read, "WARNING! DANGER! DO NOT ENTER EXTREMELY TOXIC MATERIAL."
Sam who was in front walked closer to inspect the opening with Ben and me right behind him. "Well, that doesn't bode well," I muttered under my breath as I looked at the sign.
Sam turns to look at Ben and me. He shrugs and goes inside. Ben followed suit while I entered slowly as I read a larger sign above the opening which read "KEEP OUT NO ADMITTANCE."
As we walked further into the mine, the darker it got. Sam led us with a flashlight in hand. With Ben in front of me, I could barely see anything but I could feel a rail underneath my feet as we walked through the dark and damp tunnel.
As we trudged along, a growl caught our attention. I could feel shivers go down my spine as I heard the growl. I immediately stopped walking as Sam turned off the flashlight. Before I knew it the three of us had our backs pressed up against the wall. I took a deep breath to calm myself as the wendigo walked closer toward us. Sam and I covered Ben's mouth before he could scream.
Thankfully the wendigo turned and walked in another direction. As we breathed out a sigh of relief, I turned to look at Ben.
"You okay?" I asked Ben.
"Y-yeah." He stuttered.
"You don't need to be afraid as long as we´re here," I whispered and I placed my hand on his shoulder as we kept walking.
Sam, Ben, and I kept on going through the mine. With Ben and Sam ahead of me, I suddenly heard some creaking.
I turned to look down at the source of the sound. Although I could barely see, I saw that the surface that Sam and Ben were standing on wasn't ground at all but old wooden planks.
Before I knew it Sam and Ben had fallen through the floorboards. I immediately crouched down and looked through the massive hole in the floor. It was pitched black and I couldn't see a thing.
I held my breath as I waited for a sign that they were okay. Before long I could hear vaguely hear Sammy.
"Hey, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay." I sighed in relief as I heard Sammy supposedly trying to calm Ben down.
I could hear shuffling and footsteps as I heard an echo of someone calling Dean from below the pit.
"Sammy! Ben! Are you two okay?! Are they down there!?" I yelled in hopes that they could hear me.
"We're fine! Are you okay?!" I heard Sammy reply.
"I'm fine but are Dean and Haley down there?!" I asked.
"They're here! Can you get down by yourself?" Sammy questioned.
"I'm not sure!" I answered.
"It's okay I'll catch you," Sammy responded.
"Okay! I'm going to jump in three, two, one!" I shouted as I jumped into the hole.
Before I knew it Sammy had caught me in his arms before I could hit the ground. As Sammy placed my feet on the ground I gasped as I saw Dean and Haley hanging by their wrists from the ceiling.
I instantly rushed over to Dean with Sammy not far behind me. I cupped his face with my hands and inspected his face.
"Dean, Dean, Dee. Come on wake up!" I hastily said as I continuously lightly slapped his face.
Sammy lightly pushed me aside as he grabbed Dean by the shoulders and shook him as he exclaimed, "Dean!"
Deans's eyes shot open and I immediately flung myself onto him.
"Thank heavens you are alright!" I exclaimed as I peppered his face with kisses.
"Hey, you okay?" Sammy asked Dean.
"Yeah." Dean winced in pain.
"But maybe I should get kidnapped more often if-" I cut him off as I lightly smacked his face.
"That was for getting kidnapped in the first place and this-" I whispered as I kissed him, "Was for staying alive."
"Haley, Haley, wake up, wake up!" I heard Ben trying to wake up Haley. Hearing Ben brought me back to my senses.
"Sammy help me get them down," I said as I crouched down to get two small daggers from my ankle boots.
I passed one to Sam as I helped Ben get Haley down from the ceiling.
"Gotcha," Sammy said, cutting Dean down, as Dean groaned in pain.
"Atta girl." I struggled to breathe out from the sudden weight of catching Haley.
As Sammy carried Dean I could hear him whisper, "We thought it killed you."
The three of us helped them over to an empty patch on the floor and gently sat them down. Once I had gotten Haley onto the floor I left Ben to tend to her as I rushed over to Sam and Dean.
"You sure you're alright?" Sammy questioned Dean as he continued to groan in pain.
"Yeah. Yep. Where is he?" Dean grimaced as he asked. I kneeled down beside him and caressed his cheek. It was obvious he was still in pain but I decide to not mention it.
"Aw, my poor baby." I sighed in a soft voice as I pouted.
"It's gone for now," Sammy replied.
I could see from the corner of my eye, while I was helping Dean get his wrists untied, that Haley had divested herself of the rope. She stood up with the help of Ben. I turned my head to see where they were walking to and behind me I saw another man still hanging from the ceiling.
As she stood there with Ben I could hear her quietly sob, "Tommy…"
I slowly got up to comfort her as she placed a hand on Tommy's cheek. Before I could reach her Toms's head jerked up. Scaring both Haley and me. Haley jumped back and shrieked. I placed a hand on my heart as I tried to calm myself down.
She turned to Sam and me as she screamed, "Cut him down!"
I gestured for Sammy to follow me as I walked toward Tommy to cut him down with my dagger. Sammy caught him as I cut him down.
We slowly laid him down as he breathed out, "Man."
"We're going to get you home." I heard Haley tell Tommy.
I turned to see Dean struggling to get up from the floor. I hurried over to support him as he stood up. In a corner, there was a pile of supplies. Dean leaned over to pick up a flare gun.
"Check it out." Dean turned around to show Sammy our findings.
"Flare guns. Those’ll work." Sammy grinned as Dean smiled and twirled the guns in his hand.
We headed down a tunnel, Dean and I were in the lead with a flare gun in each of our hands while Sammy assisted Haley in carrying Tommy. Out of the blue, we heard growling from further in the mineshaft.
"Oh hell nah," I murmured under my breath.
"Looks like someone's home for supper," Dean said.
"We’ll never outrun it." Haley voiced out as Dean and I turned back to look at her.
Dean glanced at Sammy and me, "You guys thinking what I’m thinking."
"Unfortunately," I muttered.
"Yeah I think so," Sammy replied.
"All right, listen to me. Stay with Sam and Nicole. They're gonna get you out of here." Dean ordered.
"What are you going to do?" Haley asked.
"Something stupid." I retorted, "And you better not die on me, or else I will kill you." I threatened as I grabbed his arm.
"I got this." Dean winked as he gave me a quick peck on the lips.
I watched him start to walk away and yell, "Chow time, you freaky bastard! Yeah, that's right, bring it on, baby, I taste good!"
Soon enough the rest of Deans's words become indistinguishable. Sammy and I waited for a couple of seconds until we were sure Dean was a safe distance away from us.
Sammy walks in a different direction and calls out, "All right, come on! Hurry!" Sammy leads the way with the Collinses and me not far behind him.
The five of us hurried down a tunnel before we started hearing growling again. Sammy pointed the gun in the direction of the growling. He lowered the gun and turned back to look at us.
"Nikki, get them outta here." He ordered.
I looked him straight in the eyes and I could immediately tell he wasn't going to budge.
"Sam-" I cut Haley off before she could continue.
"Got it. Come on, let's get you guys out of here." I ordered as I tried to usher them.
"Go! Go! Go!" Sam yelled.
"Come on, Haley!" Ben called Haley as they helped Tom walk along the mine tunnel. I lingered back and turned to look at Sam.
I placed a hand on his shoulder and looked him in the eyes, "Stay safe." I whispered before rushing to catch up with the three siblings.
As we scrambled through the tunnel I couldn't help but look back. A part of me wanted to run back to help him but I knew that would only put all of us in danger. I tried to help Haley and Ben carry Tom as much as possible. I couldn't help but feel frustrated at this rate were all going to get eaten.
It wasn't long until I heard loud thumping footsteps from behind us. Haley and I leaned over to see Sam running toward us.
"Sam!" Haley and I exclaimed simultaneously.
"Come on, hurry. Hurry! Hurry! Let's go." Sam yelled as he caught up with us and ushered us.
The four of us ran as fast as we could with the wendigo right behind us. We ran until we hit a dead end.
"No! Damn. Get behind me." Sam ordered. The Collinses hid behind him but I refused to hide. I stood beside him and covered the Collinses as much as I could.
I could see Sammy clench his jaw as the wendigo slowly approached us, taking its time. I could feel my heart in my throat as it go closer. Out of the blue, I saw Dean come up from behind the wendigo.
"Hey!" Dean called out and the wendigo turned around but before it could do anything Dean shot it in the stomach.
The flare goes off and the wendigo gets engulfed by the flames. Before long it would only be a pile of ashes.
"Not bad, huh?" Dean retorted.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Sammy grin. When the fire died down I immediately jumped into his arms.
I sighed as I inhaled his scent, "Always in the nick of time, eh?" I beamed at him. I felt him wrap his arms around me as I snuggled deeper into his chest.
We were finally out of the mine and at the ranger's station. Sammy and Ben dealt with the police officers while I decided to stay with Dean and Haley as the paramedics patched them up. I was standing in between Dean and Haley as we walked toward Baby while they loaded Tom into the ambulance.
Once we reached Baby, I sighed and laid my head on Deans's shoulder, "I'm so tired." I mumbled with my eyes closed. I could feel him wrap an arm around my shoulder and place a kiss on my forehead.
I heard Haley cough. I opened my eyes to look at her, "So..." She trailed off as she gestured towards Dean and me with her eyes.
I lifted my head off his shoulder and straighten my back, "I'm adopted." I answered.
"Ah." She whispered.
"It's, uh, complicated. But my parents past away a long time ago and their dad took me in." I explained.
"You two are-" I cut her off.
"Together." I finished.
After a long pause, "So really, I don't know how to thank both of you." She said.
I turned to see Dean smirking at Haley while she and I just laughed.
"Must you cheapen the moment? Nicole is literally beside you." She smiled
"Sorry about him, he's just a natural flirt. You learn to get used to it. What he's trying to say is that your safety is thanks enough." I said after I composed myself.
A paramedic came up to Haley, "You riding with your brother?" She asked
"Yeah," Haley replied.
The paramedic headed back to the ambulance as Ben and Sammy walked up to us.
"Let's go." Haley turned to tell Ben.
Haley hugged me, "Thank you, for everything, I hope you find your father." She said as she pulled back.
She walked and wrapped an arm around Ben as they headed for the ambulance.
"Thanks, Sam." She said as they passed by him.
Sammy sat next to me on the hood of the impala as we watched Haley and Ben climb in the ambulance with Tom, who was shirtless and bandaged.
"Close her up." We heard a paramedic say as another paramedic went to close the doors.
"Man, I hate camping," Dean said.
"Me too," Sam responded.
"Me three." I sighed as I laid my head on Deans's shoulder again. We could hear the sirens of the ambulance wailing as it drove away.
"Sam, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?" Dean reassured Sammy.
"Yeah, I know. But in the meantime...I'm driving." Sam whispered.
I snickered as I watched Dean toss the keys to Sammy, "I call shotgun!" I yelled before Dean could get into the car.
"Aw, come on!" He grumbled with a small smile as Sammy and I got into Baby.
I put my head outside the window and called to him, "What are you waiting for lover boy!"
He reluctantly walked into the backseat with a pout on his face. I turned around and placed a hand on his cheek as Baby purred to life.
I pulled his face closer to kiss him as I heard Sammy gag in the background, "No more pouty face okay."
I sat back in my chair and looked at Sammy, "And what are you five?" I sassed.
Sammy chuckled in response, "Just drive." I giggled and lightly shoved him.
I snuggled into the chair as Sammy drove off and closed my eyes to doze off.
Sam was fast asleep in the passenger seat in front of you. Dean glanced over at him, a smirk forming on his lips.
Reaching over, he grabbed a plastic spoon and placed it in Sam’s mouth carefully. You watched, knowingly, with a smile of your own as he pulled out his phone and pressed a few buttons before moving it closer to Sam. He took a quick photo and tucked the phone back into his pocket.
Then he turned the music up until Sam jolted awake.
Spitting out the spoon, Sam shook himself as he was forced awake. Once he realised what had happened, Dean’s laughter a dead giveaway, he glared. “Ha ha, very funny.”
Dean simply chuckled. “Sorry, not a lot of scenery here in East Texas, kinda gotta make your own.”
“Man, we're not kids anymore Dean. We're not going to start that crap up again.”
“Start what up?” Dean played dumb.
“That prank stuff. It's stupid, and it always escalates.”
“Aw, what's the matter Sammy, scared you're going to get a little Nair in your shampoo again huh?”
Rolling your eyes, you looked between them before leaning forward to rest on the back of their chair. “Every time you guys play pranks I always end up getting pulled into it,” you noted before reaching forward to turn the music down.
Dean moved quickly to kiss your exposed neck before he turned back to the road. “That’s ‘cause you never take a side.”
Sam turned a charming smile onto you. “Maybe she should.”
Looking into the younger brother’s eyes, you felt your cheeks burn. His smile grew as if he knew how he made you feel. Leaning forward, he caught your lips with his own.
Melting against him, you sighed into his mouth as he brought his hand up to cup the back of your head, keeping you against him. Moving closer, you went jelly against the back of their chair as he turned around as much as he could.
“Hey! Hey!” Dean swatted at the two of you. “You’re not playing fair. I can’t win her over while I’m driving!”
Laughing, Sam pulled back as he turned a smirk of his own to his brother. “Just remember you started this.”
Rolling your eyes once more, you fell back into your seat, trying to ignore the heat between your thighs.
While Sam was busy carrying yours and his things, and unlocking the motel room door, Dean took the chance to sweep you up. As soon as the room’s door was open he threw his bag inside and grabbed you, lifting you into his arms.
You gasped out of surprise and shock before laughing as your legs wrapped around him. His hands grasped your ass over your jeans as he hurried the two of you over to one of the two beds before dropping the two of you onto it. On top of you, he took a short moment to grin down at you before he crashed down, pressing his lips against yours in bruising kisses.
Moaning against him, you carded your fingers through his hair as his fingers crept under your shirt, causing you to grind against him as heat began to pool in your panties once again.
“Hey!” Sam threw a pillow from the other bed at his brother. “We’ve got a job to do.”
Groaning, Dean pulled back just enough to look over at him. “You’re just worried I’ll win her over and she’ll take my side.” The playful glare Sam gave told both you and Dean that he was right. He just laughed. “Don’t worry, Sammy, you can still play with her after you lose.”
Swatting at Dean’s chest, you glared at both of them. “Just so we’re clear, I’m not taking sides here. I want nothing to do with whatever stupid crap you guys are about to get up to.”
“Really?” Dean turned to you. “What if I promise taking my side will come with perks?”
Hesitating a moment, you raised an eyebrow as you asked, “What kind of perks?”
“Maybe a late night ride in Baby… take you somewhere secluded… and then bend you over the hood and have you screaming on my knot?”
You swallowed thickly, ready to follow him in an instant.
Sam came over to stand by the bed then, his crotch in line with your head. Your eyes dragged up his body until you met his heated gaze, pausing any words of compliance towards Dean in your throat.
“I’ll have you coming on my tongue until you see stars, and then I’ll fuck you from behind so I can smack your ass until you can’t sit for days.”
An involuntary whine escaped from your lips as you looked up at the younger brother.
Dean’s hand came out to caress your cheek as he turned your attention back to him. “Don’t listen to him, sweetheart. I know the Omega in you wants nothing more than to be wild out at night, under the stars.” Leaning forward, he nuzzled your neck, licking tentatively at your pulse point.
Your head was turned towards Sam, which meant you could watch him drink in the sight of you as his hand reached down to rub at the very obvious lump in his pants.
“I just wanna taste you on my tongue. Bury my face in you until I can’t breathe,” he started. “Making the Alpha in me pant at the thought, baby.”
Your eyes rolled back as their Alpha scents smothered you deliciously. “Oh fuck.”
For days now this is how you’d lived. Both brothers torturing you and worshipping you with every fibre of their Alpha beings. They were praising and thanking you for staying with them instead of going with their father.
It had been a big risk, denying the pack Alpha, but you knew it was what was best for you. You knew going with him would leave you miserable and alone. If you had gone with John you wouldn’t be stuck in the torturous prediciment the brothers had you in, now.
“You two aren’t playing fair,” you pouted, whining at both of them.
Chuckling against your throat, Dean pulled away then. You moaned in disapproval as he slipped off the bed entirely. “Sorry, sweetheart, but you don’t wanna play.” He shrugged.
“I want to play, I just don’t want to choose,” you argued.
Sighing, with a soft smile, Sam leaned over to catch your lips with his in a searing but short kiss. “No one’s making you.”
As he pulled away to join his brother by the bags by the table, you sighed and dropped back onto the bed. You were wet and horny, and they were leaving you to cool down without any satisfaction.
“Next time either of you want sex I’m withholding it,” you declared.
“Sure,” Dean scoffed.
“We believe you,” Sam added.
Rolling your eyes, you rolled over and buried your face into the pillow to scream in frustration. Meanwhile, they got back to work.
“Gimme the lowdown again?” Dean asked.
“All right, about a month or two ago this group of kids goes poking around in this local haunted house,” Sam started.
“Haunted by what?
“Apparently, a pretty misogynistic spirit. Legend goes, it takes girls and strings them up in the rafters. Anyway this group of kids see this dead girl hanging in the cellar.”
As you rolled back over to watch them, you spotted Dean frowning. “Anybody ID the corpse?”
Sam shrugged. “Well, that's the thing. By the time the cops got there the body was gone. So cops are saying the kids were just yanking chains.”
“Maybe the cops are right,” Dean suggested.
Sam didn’t look convinced. “Maybe, but I read a couple of the kids firsthand accounts. They seemed pretty sincere.”
“Where'd you read these accounts?”
Sam scoffed, as if he knew this line of questioning from his brother wasn’t going to end well, “Well, I knew we were going to be passing through Texas. So, umm, last night, I surfed some local ... paranormal websites. And I found one.”
“And what's it called,” Dean pressed.
“HellHoundsLair.com”
“Lemme guess, streaming live out of Mom's basement.”
“Yeah, probably.” Sam shrugged.
“Yeah. Most of those websites wouldn't know a ghost if it bit 'em in the persqueeter.”
Sam sighed, shrugging once more. “Look we gotta find ourselves something to hunt. There's no harm checking this thing out.”
“All right. So where do we find these kids?”
You chimed in then, smiling. “Drive-in, boys… means food!” Jumping off the bed, you scooped up Baby’s keys from the table.
Dean reached out after you, trying to snatch the keys away. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“If I’m not getting satisfied with dick, I’m getting satisfied with fries,” you stated matter of factly, holding the keys in front of you, moving them closer to your neck as you tilted your head back. Both brothers eyed the vulnerable skin with heated eyes as you grinned. “Unless you’re finally ready to make his kitty pur.”
Jumping out of his seat, Dean snatched the keys away from you with one hand as the other snaked around your waist. He leaned in, breathing against your neck, scenting you as he backed you up until your back was against the door.
You giggled and bit your lip, tilting your head further to give him more access as he began to trail his lips over the exposed skin.
Sam stood then, eyeing you knowingly and hungrily, but he kept his focus. “She can have fries, Dean. Your dick can wait. We’ve got a job.”
Pausing for a brief moment, Dean breathed in your scent once more before he pulled back. “Yeah, you’re right. I know,” he mumbled.
You stepped aside and let Dean leave as you pouted at Sam. “I just wanna have fun. You guys are the ones who got me so hot and bothered.”
Chuckling lightly, he leaned down to kiss the corner of your lips. “Patience.” Then he continued on, walking out with his brother.
Taking a deep breath to try and calm yourself, you then followed the brothers out and over to Baby, hoping that this case will hurry up and finish itself so you can enjoy your two Alphas.
Sitting at one of the tables in the diner, you watched as the brothers went to each of the three people that had been at the incident. You had gotten the fries you wanted, and a cheese burger, which you were currently casually munching on as your eyes drifted around the room.
You couldn’t help but smile, seeing the looks on the brothers’ faces. Whatever they were being told wasn’t that helpful.
Good. Means they’re suffering. Serves them right.
Rocking side to side a little, happy with your food and showing it with a little dance, you smiled at the brothers as they headed your way. “Get anything good?”
Dean dropped into the seat next to you. “That was painful,” he sighed.
Subconsciously, your body turned to lean against him as his arm rested behind your chair. “Wanna share my burger?” you offered.
Even though he was half of the reason you were sexually frustrated- once again- you still felt the need to ease him. It was the Omega in you, the need to care for your Alphas outweighing your desire to brat a little.
Dean smiled appreciatively before grabbing the burger to dig in.
Sam sat across from the two of you. He reached over to slide your water closer, which you were sure he didn’t even realise he’d done. Since you’d decided to stay with the brothers over John he’d become more of a caregiver towards you two. Your theory was that it was his own subconscious way of showing his thanks.
“We got a lead,” Sam started.
“Finally,” Dean grumbled around his mouth full of food.
Ignoring his brother, Sam went on, “All three retold the story differently, but they all agreed on one thing. The same person was the one who told them about the place and took them there.”
Nodding as you grabbed another fry, you shrugged. “So where is this guy?”
“Works at a record store,” Sam answered. “We’ll check it out tomorrow. For now, we should head back and get some rest.”
“Okay.” Dusting the salt off your fingers, you slid off your chair as Sam stood as well.
Dean took another couple of bite of the burger before wrapping it all up and grabbing the food to go. He was already pulling the keys out of his pocket and headed towards Baby before you and Sam had moved.
Walking out of the bathroom in an oversized shirt that belonged to one of the brothers- you weren’t sure who exactly, though- you walked into the darkened motel room. Both brothers were in bed, Dean flicking through his phone while Sam was sitting up, with his arm resting behind his head. He was looking up at the ceiling, deep in thought.
You used to struggle with picking who to sleep with, but since John had gone again you’d left it to your instincts. You trusted yourself more than you ever had before, so you simply let your feet do the walking and didn’t question which bed you ended up crawling into.
Tonight you found yourself creeping over to Sam. His eyes caught sight of you as you neared. Reaching over, he pulled the sheets away and let you crawl in beside him.
Humming happily, you smiled as he shifted until he was pressed against your back, his arm wrapping around you. His nose found the crook of your neck where he breathed in your scent which had him sigh with content. Any tension left his body.
After a short while Dean turned his phone off and rolled over. Not too long after that, you heard his breath even as he fell asleep. Neither you nor Sam had drifted off, yet.
“You should get some sleep,” he whispered to you, pressing a gentle kiss to your shoulder.
Nodding against him, you shuffled into him further, letting his warmth and embrace lull you to sleep as his breath stayed even against your neck.
You walked between Dean and Sam, the latter taking the lead as the three of you stepped into the record shop Craig supposedly worked at. Your eyes drifted, taking in all the records and cds on display for sale. You didn’t even pay attention to the customers milling about, knowing the brothers would take charge as they always did.
It was nice, benign included in the hunts even though you didn’t always bring something to the table. It just felt really good to be wanted, not necessarily needed. The brothers liked having you around, and now that you were all on a more trusting level neither brother had a problem bringing you along.
“Hey,” a guy who you could only assume worked there, stepped up to you and the Winchester brothers, “can I help you with anything?”
Sam nodded, taking charge. “Yeah, are you Craig Thurston?”
“I am,” the guy answered.
“Well we're reporters with the Dallas Morning News,” Dean started. “'m Dean, this is Sam and Y/N.”
Craig looked to each of you, growing excited at the prospect of some publicity. “No way. Well I'm writer too. I write for my school's lit magazine.”
You watched him as he tried to cover up any hint of his excitement, getting back to work. He was a small Beta, not much on him. You doubted the guy ever got much attention so this was like Christmas for him. Sniffing the air, you could practically taste him trying to puff up his chest proudly. But he was a Beta… you could barely sense him over the brothers.
“Well, good for you Morrissey.” Dean gave a tight smile. Clearly he didn’t care.
Ignoring his brother, Sam got back on track, “Umm. We're doing an article on local hauntings and rumour has it you might know of one.”
“You mean the Hell House?”
“That's the one.” Dean nodded.
“I didn't think there was anything to the story.”
“Why don't you tell us the story?” Sam suggested.
Taking the bait, Craig started, “Well, supposedly back in the '30s this farmer, Mordachai Murdoch, used to live in this house with his six daughters. It was during the Depression, his crops were failing, he didn't have enough money to feed his own children. So I guess that's when he went off the deep end.”
“How?” Sam asked.
“Well, he figured it was best if his girls died quick, rather than starve to death,” Craig explained. “So he attacked them. They screamed, begged for him to stop but he just strung 'em up, one after the other. And when he was all finished he just turned around and hung himself. Now they say that his spirit is trapped in the house forever, stringing up any other girl that goes inside.”
So much for joining them in the case. You knew, without a doubt, they weren’t going to let you tag along if you were in any particular danger.
Dean watched him carefully. “Where'd you hear all this?”
“My cousin Dana told me. I don't know where she heard it from.” Craig shrugged. “Ya gotta realise, I- I didn't believe this for a second.”
“But now you do,” Sam noted.
Craig sighed, “I don't know what the hell to think, man. You guys, I--I'll tell you exactly what I told the police, ok? That girl was real. And she was dead. This was not a prank. I swear to God, I don't wanna go anywhere near that house ever again, ok?”
Sam and Dean were walking ahead of you as the three of you neared Mordachai’s house. It was run down, barely standing. The property was off the road, a decent distance away to not be worth much to pay attention to. Clearly that had changed recently, though.
“Can't say I blame the kid,” Sam sighed as he took in the state of the house.
Craig never wanted to come back to this place, and you could tell why.
“Yeah, so much for curb appeal,” Dean added.
As the three of you came to the edge of the front fence of the house, both brothers stopped and turned to you.
“This is where the line stops,” Dean noted, giving you a pointed look.
You glanced from him to Sam, trying to plead with your eyes. But the younger Winchester simply nodded, agreeing with his brother. “Story says any girl that goes inside won’t come out. You’re staying here.”
Pouting, you gave in with a sigh. “Fine, but if anything happens-”
Reaching forward, Sam rested his hand on your arm reassuringly. “If anything happens we’ll come right out. We don’t wanna risk you following us in.” He knows you would. Any sign of danger and you’d run in to save them. “Just promise me you’ll stay safe.”
Nodding, you did just that.
He smiled, stepping closer to you. “Thank you.” Leaning down, he pressed a gentle kiss to your lips before he and his brother turned to walk towards the house, leaving you to stand there and wait anxiously.
Catch Me, I’m Falling (For You) | Sammy Blais
Tumblr media
how could you not love this cuddly boy?
to @stl-boys55 for giving me this idea and @powerblais for being our resident sammy blais enabler (also for beta-ing this one!)
length: 1.7k words
You don’t know what you expected when your best friend Ellie started seeing Vince Dunn. She promised she would take you to games with her, and she did. She also dragged you to the bars with the team after wins and to various houses for parties where she inevitably abandoned you to spend time with Vince.
As a result, you were friendly with most of the younger guys on the team, and you could talk to pretty much any one of them when Ellie ditched you. Early on, you and Sammy Blais had ended up on a beer pong team together. You’d swept the night, and you’d been undefeated since then.
He always cheered when he saw you, no matter if it was outside the locker room after a game, at a noisy bar, or at a crowded house party, and then you were engulfed in a hug.
You could usually keep track of exactly what circumstances got you into whatever situation that left you surrounded by hockey players, but you weren’t entirely sure how you ended up spending a Saturday night in December at the Blues family Christmas skate.
You weren’t dating anyone on the Blues. You weren’t even sure if you could be considered friends with anyone on the Blues, outside of some drunken party games. Not least of all, you could barely ice skate.
Which is why you were sitting off to the side, alone, bundled up and with a pair of figure skates strapped to your feet, but still firmly on solid ground.
Ellie had abandoned you to go off with Vince, not that you could blame her, and even though several of the guys had enthusiastically encouraged you to tag along, no one was paying you any mind.
You were just starting to debate calling an Uber and leaving, or at the very least grabbing a hot chocolate to warm your hands, when Sammy skated over to where you were sitting, causally throwing snow up onto the boards as he stopped.
“Whatcha doin’ all by yourself?” he asked, leaning on the boards to look at you.
You shrugged. “Not that great at skating,” you said casually. You were still trying to figure out if hot chocolate was worth it.
Sammy looked shocked. A lock of hair flopped over his forehead, and he pushed it back with a huff. “What do you mean you can’t skate?”
“Not all of us have been playing hockey since they could walk, Sammy,” you said. “I never learned as a kid, and I haven’t really been since high school.” You stood up, suddenly frustrated– at your friend for making you come to this, at yourself for agreeing, at Sammy for looking at you gently with those damn green eyes– but you forgot you were on skates and overbalanced. Sammy reached out quickly and grabbed your elbow, steadying you.
You shivered, and you weren’t entirely sure it was just because you were cold, anymore.
“C’mon, I’ll teach you,” he said easily. And then he grinned at you. “Besides, you’ll be warmer if you weren’t just sitting here.”
You stuck your tongue out at him. “You don’t have to-” you started, but Sammy was already making his way through the door and over to you.
“Skating is kinda my job, remember?” he teased.
“Doesn’t mean you’re any good at it,” you muttered, but Sammy was already crouching down and tightening the laces on your skates.
He tapped both of your knees once before he stood up and offered his hand to you. You took it with a sigh, letting him lead you onto the ice. His hand was warm through your glove.
You immediately tightened your hold on Sammy’s hand and clutched onto his arm with your other hand as you stepped onto the ice and your feet started sliding in different directions. Sammy laughed at you, but you just glared at him, focused on not falling and looking like a fool. Or, like more of a fool.
“You need to relax,” Sammy said, and you glared harder, but you let him adjust your posture so your knees were no longer locked and your shoulders weren’t so tense.
Sammy spun around so he was facing you then, and grabbed both of your hands in his. He pulled you around the rink backwards, expertly dodging small children and fellow teammates with an ease you could only be envious of.
You caught Ellie’s eye as you passed her and Vince, and she discreetly shot you a thumbs up. She was the only one who knew you’d been harboring a crush on Sammy for months, and her gentle nudging had grown decidedly less gentle.
After you’d successfully made a lap around the rink, and you were no longer nervously watching your skates, Sammy declared with a lopsided grin that you were ready to start skating on your own. He just laughed and let go of your hands as you yelped and toe-picked, nearly going sprawling to the ice.
It was another half-lap of you clutching Sammy’s hands and him skating backwards, talking lowly to you as he guided you through the step-glide of skating, until you had started to relax again.
Sammy spun around then, swung around so he was skating alongside you, but he didn’t let go of your hand. And you would never actually admit it to Sammy, but you were warmer now that you were skating, even if your fingertips were still a little numb.
Everything was going fine. You’d talk and laugh with other players and WAGs as they passed you or fell into step alongside the two of you for a while; you only overbalanced a few times, and Sammy was always there to steady you.
And then one of the mini-Pietrangelos went zooming past you. He cut too close in front of Sammy, who swerved to not hit him, and one of his skates clipped yours. Suddenly, you felt yourself falling, the ice coming up towards you quickly. You flailed– not very gracefully, you were sure, but you were past caring– and knocked into Sammy, who started falling in turn.
Sammy reached out and grabbed you around the waist, twisting so you landed on top of him instead of on the ice; you still went down so hard it was jarring and made your head hurt.
“Oof, merde,” Sammy groaned, letting his head thump onto the ice. You shifted, made to roll off of Sammy, but his arms tightened around you.
Someone whistled, and Petro skated past, now carrying his mini– Oliver or Theo, you couldn’t tell, honestly– and apologizing repeatedly. You both ignored both of those things.
“Hi,” you breathed.
Sammy grinned up at you. “Y’know if you wanted to get on top of me, you could’ve just said something.” You groaned, dropping your forehead to Sammy’s chest. You hoped your flush could be blamed on the cold of the rink. “Also, your elbow is very pointy and in my ribs.”
You dug your elbow in for good measure before rolling to the side. The ice was cold beneath your back, through your layers. You laid there for a moment, steeling yourself, catching your breath, before trying to clamber back to your feet.
Vince skated over as you had nearly made it to your feet, snowing you. “Alright, Bambi, c’mon,” he said, grabbing your arm to steady you. You glared at him, and he let go.
You managed to skate over to a door and stepped out onto actual solid ground; Sammy followed you. You felt his fingers brush against the small of your back as you made your way towards the concessions stand advertising hot chocolate.
He was still behind you as you peeled off your gloves and collected your Styrofoam cup of steaming hot chocolate, as you found an empty table and settled in.
“I meant it, by the way,” Sammy said after a moment of silence while you both watched everyone still on the ice. You shot him a look; he had whipped cream on his top lip. “I mean-” he was blushing now, and he ducked his head. “Do you wanna, I don’t know, go out sometime? With me?”
It was cute to see him all flustered and shy, and you laughed. He blushed harder, flicking his thumb nervously against the edge of the plastic lid on his cup. He still had whipped cream on his face.
You bumped your skate against his underneath the table, made him look up at you. “As long as we don’t go ice skating,” you said. Sammy laughed then, too, his eyes crinkling. “And you’ve got a lil-” you pointed. Sammy’s brow furrowed, and he stuck his tongue out, trying to lick it off. You giggled as he struggled for a minute before pouting at you. “Here,” you sighed, reaching out towards Sammy.
Except you had an idea as your hand was halfway to Sammy’s face. You cupped his cheek, but instead of using your thumb to wipe away the whipped cream, you leaned forward to kiss Sammy. Just a quick peck, but when you pulled back Sammy was blushing even harder than before– you didn’t even know that was possible– pink all the way up to his ears. His hair was flopping in front of his face again.
You could hear some muffled cheers coming from his teammates on the ice, including a yelled “Fucking finally!” that probably came from Vince. Sammy still hadn’t said anything, was just staring at you, and you started fidgeting.
Sammy reached out and grabbed your hand where your nail was digging into your Styrofoam cup, now looking a little panicked.
“I can do no ice skating,” he told you. You smiled at him. “Your hands are freezing, what the hell,” he added.
“Why do you think I wanted hot chocolate?” you protested. “I told you I was cold!”
“Don’t worry,” Sammy grinned, “I’ll keep you warm.”
You groaned again as Sammy wiggled his eyebrows at you. “God, you’re so cheesy. Is it too late to take it back?”
Sammy just laughed as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer to him, and you allowed it, letting your head rest on his shoulder. You could still see Sammy’s grin from the corner of your eye as he looked out over the ice.
