i laid on the couch, with my boyfriend Chan as we read through the comments of my latest YouTube video.

“babe look, there are a lot of people asking for a ‘my boyfriend does my makeup challenge.” i tell chan, pointing to some comments as he nods.

“it would be fun. when do you wanna film it?”

“how about now?” i tell him, getting up from his warm embrace as we walk to my makeup room.

“i’m going to set up the camera in the recording room. you can grab any kind of makeup you want.” i tell him, heading to our recording room.

i start the intro of the video and explain what we’re gonna do today.

“alright Channie, you can use whatever you want.” i tell him as he looks at the table in front of us with all the makeup.

“okay, first, what’s this?” he looks at the package, opening it.

“first, i’m using this primer. i have no idea what it does but i see Y/n always use this first before anything.” he says in his perfectly Australian accent.

as he applies it, i stare in his gorgeous brown eyes.

“jagi, don’t stare at me like that. i get distracted.” Chan says as his cheeks flush red and he looks down with a huge smile on his face.

“moving on to foundation now.” Chan says, grabbing the foundation and smearing some on his hand before applying a whole lot to my face.

“babe! that’s a lot!” i laugh as he smears it out with his hand.

“how do you girls do this?!” he exclaims, not being able to do it smoothly.

“here, use this.” i hand him a beauty blender as he accepts it.

“thanks, jagi.” he takes the blender and tries to evenly apply the foundation on my face.

next he grabs some concealer and a random brush.

“is this the right one?” he asks me as i hand him the correct one. “this one is.”

he applies the concealer like he did the foundation. and then grabs banana powder to powder my face off. i hand him a triangle sponge and tell him where he had to apply the powder.

he applies it everywhere on my face as i laugh at the concentrated look in his eyes.

i notice him cluelessly looking at the makeup he has yet to use.

“here.” i say, handing him an eyebrow pencil.

“what’s this?” he asks, turning the pencil to the side. he reads the unclear words, still looking clueless.

“it’s an eyebrow pencil.” i laugh as he smiles and shows the pencil to the camera.

“i have to colour your eyebrow? that’s not even necessary. right guys?” he asks, turning my face to the camera as he keeps staring at my eyebrows.

“without colouring i look like i don’t have eyebrows!” i exclaim as Chan shakes his head.

“it’s not needed but i’ll use it anyway.” he says, and gets to work.

while he’s busy colouring, i notice the tip of his tongue slipping out of his mouth, resting on the corner of his bottom lip, making him look even cuter than he already was.

“can i use this now?” he asks, grabbing my eyeshadow palette. i nod and hand him the brush.

“look at this pretty colour, you guys! yah i’m gonna make you the prettiest girl there is!” Chan gasps as i laugh and close my eyes.

he puts a lot of eyeshadow on the brush and swipes it across my eyelid.

“jagi, that’s too much!” i say, feeling the thickness of the eyeshadow on my eyelid.

“no, it’s not. shh babe.” he says sassily, continuing to swipe it across my eyelid.

“look at her, she looks so pretty.” Chan gushes. “alright, which one do you think you have to use next?” i ask him as he looks at the mascara, bronzer and blush.

his eyes roll from one to the other and finally settle on the blush.

“this one.” i hand him the bronzer.

“you have to apply this one here, here and here.” i motion, pointing where he has to apply it.

“and don’t push the brush in, just gently swipe it across.” i add as he nods, his tongue sticking out again.

gently he swipes the bronzer on the places i showed him and blends it out with the brush.

then he grabs the mascara.

“this one next?” he asks as i shake my head.

“no, blush first. mascara and eyeliner at the end. and not to forget lipstick as well.” i point at the last few things as he nods.

he takes the blush and applies it to where i motioned it.

“woah babe, it looks like you had a walk in cold weather.” Chan says as we both laugh.

“your cheeks are so pink!”

“here.” i hand him an eyelash curler.

“is this scissors for your eyelashes?” he asks, taking the curler from my hand to his eye level, inspecting it.

“no, baby. it’s an eyelash curler. put it on my eyelash for a few seconds and it’ll have a pretty curl.” i tell him as he looks at it unsurely.

“naur, i don’t want to hurt you.” He says, putting the curler on the side.

“then we’ll skip. now apply the mascara and then the eyeliner.” i instruct him as he does.

“omg, you look so pretty babe.” Chan says, looking at the camera as he smudges some mascara under my eye and on my eye lids.

“really? thanks baby.” i thank him and open my eye.

“now add the eyeliner.” i say, looking by at him.

he grabs the eyeliner and does his best to apply it. i can feel his pinky finger on the side of my face, to keep his hand steady.

“and last but not least, lipstick.” Chan says, showing the mac lipstick on camera.

i have no idea what colour it is but i love it on you.” He explains, turning my face to him.

“do this with your lips.” he says, making an ‘o’ shape as i do what he says.

he applies a thick layer of lipstick and tells me to smudge my lips together.

“all done.” He says as i turn to the camera.

before i can get up to grab a mirror, Chan looks at me, with a big smile on his face.

“waaah, doesn’t my girlfriend look amazing?” he asks the camera.

Chan grabs a mirror and hands it to me after sitting down.

“babe! what do you mean i look amazing?” i exclaim, as we both burst out in laughter.

“i love you but please, never become a makeup artist.” i tell him, kissing his cheek, leaving a big stain on his cheek.

“let me clean you up.”

Resuming the rewatch after many weeks of sitting like a lump and the timeline surrounding Yi City is BANANAS. We are informed by LWJ that:

-XY showed up at Koi Tower 16 years ago. (LWJ refutes the assertion of the randos in the tavern that he was a Jin clan retainer.)

-Everyone wanted to punish him for being a serial killer but JGS personally refused due to lack of evidence. (We get a flashback of JGS yelling that he can protect who he wants.)

-Chang Ping recanted his testimony and was shortly thereafter blinded and killed via a thousand cuts dealt by Shuanghua, but neither XXC nor SL has been seen in years.

-XY was driven out and punished after JGS died and JGY took over as sect leader (according to LWJ) and hasn’t been seen since (according to the tavern randos).

Now, this does match JGY’s statement in the CQL version of Guanyin Temple that XY agreed to help him refine the Yin Tiger Tally as a means to resurrect XXC, but it throws a wrench in LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE because it means:

-XY didn’t officially work for the Jin? A lot of people thought he did, but he wasn’t considered an employee according to LWJ??? Did NMJ just believe the rumors or did he personally see him leaving JGY’s basement?

-It’s common knowledge that XY worked for the Wen, but either this didn’t come up in his trial, or everyone agreed that JGS protecting a known Wen collaborator just for funsies was fine or JGS’s power was so unrivaled that he didn’t even have to pretend to care about PR.

ETA: “Did anybody SEE him kill all those people?” is also one hell of a rebuttal given that in this canon, JGY, NHS, LWJ, and JC were all present at Chang Manor in the aftermath of the murders. JC and LWJ were even on the scene prior to Songxiao’s arrival! I guess technically they didn’t see XY kill all those people, but JC and LWJ sure do hear him confess to it freely and without remorse!

-JGS publicly stated that keeping XY alive was his personal prerogative, so NMJ getting on JGY’s case about it has some major “yelling at the store manager about the return policy dictated by corporate HQ” energy. Disappointed in u, CQL Da-ge. 🫤

-XY already had Shuanghua when he killed Chang Ping, whose time death is also given as “16 years ago,” so the entirety of Yi City unfolds prior to this. Leaving aside the issue of Sunshot only taking like 6-8 months and then less than 2 years elapsing between the war’s end and WWX’s death with the given timestamps (Yi City is supposed to be a solid 3 years, so this is pushing it even if XY shacked up with XXC immediately after Songxiao swapped eyeballs), I’m pretty sure they give us a little title card later insisting that Yi City was 10 years ago. WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING. WHAT IS MATH.

-oh my god were Dark Cottagecore Hours with Xuexiao happening while Sunshot was going on? because that’s incredible actually.

-Why was XY all beaten up when XXC found him if that wasn’t JGY??? XY is for sure in Jinlintai when NMJ and JGS die so?????????

Knightstone Household: Chapter 8, Part 6

In this part Suzanna tries having a yard sale, Pollock reaches another key milestone and Suzanna has her first shift at the top of the scientist career.

Nicknames Suzanna is Mummy or Starlight Adam is Pops or My Heart Silas is Starshine Pollock is Pol or Moondust If Pollock is trying to babble real words they will be in brackets

Silas: Look at him crawl! I taught him how to do that

Suzanna: I’m pretty sure it was me

Silas: No, it was me, the best brother

Adam: And he’s so humble as well

Silas: Thanks for getting the piano Pops

Adam: Thank your mum as well, I don’t do finances by myself

Silas: What’s finances

Suzanna: A fancy word for money

Following dinner Adam tries to teach Pollock how to stand.

Adam: We put our feet flat, no flat. Flat like a pancake

Silas: I ha no I at (I have no idea what that is)

Suzanna: *from in front of the TV* He doesn’t know what pancakes are yet

Adam: Right. Can you put your feet down son, yeah like that. Now I can feel you pushing on my arms, can you push through your feet, push!

Silas: Come on Pol, you got this

Adam: And I did so well... that he’s crawling away from me

Suzanna: *still focusing on game* It’s okay Adam, you tried

Adam: Yeah I did, I’m a good- oh look, look!

Suzanna: Kind of fighting a boss right now, can you describe

Adam: *in sports commentator voice* Pollock is approaching a chair and appears to be focusing on the seat. He’s thrown his arms on to the seat

Adam: And we have lift off! He’s standing Starlight!

Suzanna: That's won- Oh my watcher die already you piece of poop!

Pollock: *cries*

Adam: I know you’re tired after that, I know. But we have to-

Pollock: *cries and pees everywhere*

Adam ensures Pollock gets completely full before shepherding an exhausted infant to bed.

The next day Adam sorts out Pollock again as Suzanna has broken plumbing to fix. Once Silas heads off to school Suzanna begins trying out more food with Pollock.

Adam: What’s he trying now

Suzanna: Pumpkin. I think he likes it

Adam: Way to go son

Suzanna: Could you grab the produce from the garden this morning? I really want to see if I can get him to grasp the spoon

Adam: Sure thing Starlight. Okay Pollock, be grabby! Pretend it's a nice big butt

Suzanna: Adam! Really?

Adam: A butt... that is attached to a consenting sim

Suzanna: Smooth recovery

Suzanna: Here come the mashed peas Pol *spaceship noises*

Pollock: Ge na ma (bring them to me) *grabs for spoon*

Suzanna: You did it Moondust! You know what this means

Suzanna: We can try some delicious banana slices! You can pick them up all by yourself. Here comes the first one, open wide *spaceship noises*

Pollock giggles in excitement and closes his mouth around the squishy offering. He likes it!

Suzanna leaves Pollock to work his way through the banana pile and heads to the garden to see Adam. While he’s still harvesting she begins to spray the errant bugs.

Adam: Did he do it

Suzanna: He grabbed the spoon! He’s growing up so fast. He better not be grabbing any butts soon

Adam: *chuckles* tell me about it. I can't even imagine how I'll handle them dating

Suzanna: Thank the watcher that's years away

Adam: I’m thinking of trying to finish off my second book today

Suzanna: Oh can you keep an eye on Pol while you write? I need to get rid of some excess collectables and I thought I could have a yard sale

Adam: Yeah sure thing. Just make sure no one comes inside the house

Suzanna lets Pollock out and tells him to go find his Pops in the study. He crawls down the corridor and into the room where he settles down to play. Adam is pretty focused on his writing but makes sure to say stuff to Pollock now and again so he can confirm the infant is still in the room. After a while though Pollock is tired out and lies down to nap.

Here we are. All of Suzanna’s excess MySims trophies. Not a one has been cloned. All found in the pursuit of that final one which will complete the collection. Suzanna tries a 25% markup and calls out for customers. A few start approaching and she tells them the benefits of having MySims trophies available for purchase.

Suzanna: No random treasure hunting for the one you want, simply step up and pick it! We have rare ones in stock as well as beloved common favourites!

More sims approach to view the table. Suzanna manages to convince most of them to buy, raising her charisma skill to 3. It would be great if now that we have Home Chef Hustle yard sales could let us know the final profit as I absolutely lost track. The sale is still going when Silas gets home but Suzanna eventually has to wrap up as all the talking sims have her feeling very paranoid. What are they talking about???

Suzanna: How was school

Silas: Good. Some kid kept throwing paper at me but then the principal visited and got hit instead. No more pelting after that

Pollock: Me boo la tu *pushes plate off high chair*

Adam: Hey! That’s not cool little dude

Pollock looks at his hand in astonishment and bursts into tears.

Suzanna: Adam...

Adam: I didn't mean to make him cry, I was just trying to tell him not to do that. He's making a mess

Suzanna: Let’s wait until he’s a toddler to discipline him, huh. He can't properly understand words yet

Adam: So it’s no to cocoa puffs. How about some Oaty O’s while Pops cleans your mess

Silas: Tell me again what it was like on Sixam

Pollock thumps his fists.

Suzanna: It was empty but beautiful. The trees pulsed with light and the nearby moon was so close it felt like you could reach out and touch it

Pollock grips the edge of his plate.

Silas: When can I go Mummy? I want to see. I can help look for aliens

Pollock moves his hand, the plate heading towards the edge of the chair.

Suzanna: Let me and Pops check it out some more first

*plate falls to the ground with a thud*

Adam: Pollock, again! Really?

Pollock fusses angrily in his seat. He wouldn’t need to do this if they would just feed him banana.

Suzanna: Come here mr grumpy face. I think someone needs a fun bubble bath! Who wants some bubbles?

Pollock: *giggles* umm bi ub (Mummy bring bubbles)

Suzanna: There now, yucky food doesn’t hurt us now does it? No. It’s not so offensive

Pollock: *giggles* ub ub (bubbles my bubbles)

Suzanna gets the kids to sleep while Adam works on some impressionist paintings on the balcony. He’s not feeling too inspired so they’re mainly normal quality today, but the gallery is always willing to buy them.

In the middle of the night Suzanna was woken up by her breasts feeling uncomfortably full. She heads down to the nursery and gently wakes Pollock up for a feeding.

Suzanna: *whispering* we need to be quiet so we don’t wake your brother up okay

Pollock: *yawns* um um

Since his diaper needs a change Suzanna gets him in a new one before heading back to bed. Despite not liking being held Pollock still enjoys some cuddling and kisses from his Mummy.

Suzanna: And I just want to say again, I am so sorry about the faulty ghost goo

Shelly: Meh, it’s in the past. Scientists experiment, it’s just what we do

Suzanna: Hey I was thinking of heading to Sixam this shift, want to come with?

Shelly: I think I’ll feel safer here

Suzanna: With Faye

Shelly: *laughs* She doesn’t hate me so I can survive

Suzanna shrugs and goes to upgrade the lab wormhole generator so that she can use it for travel, her personal one is safely at home.

Faye: Enjoy going back home

Suzanna: Sixam isn’t my home Faye

Faye: Whatever alien. Don’t talk to me

Suzanna: Can’t we just-

Faye: I know you’re the boss but it doesn’t mean I have to like you. Or talk to you. Leave me alone

Suzanna: *sighs* okay then. Wish me luck?

Faye: I hope your stupid invention breaks and strands you

Arriving on Sixam, Suzanna is sad to see it just as empty of aliens as when she and Adam visited. She figures she shouldn’t waste the trip and begins to collect what she can. She knows Adam is sad about the lack of answers the planet has provided, and truthfully, she’s upset as well. Are the aliens they’re descended from just some kind of space pirates? Happy to procreate, and just as happy to abandon. At least she manages to complete her geode collection, so something happy comes from the trip.

When Suzanna makes it home, despite what Faye may think about it, she is glad to see a pile of elements have been extracted from some of her excess minerals. Nine down, five to go. Pollock is busy showing off his standing when Suzanna gets inside. She goes and scoops him up despite his protests.

Suzanna: Moondust! I missed you today, yes I did. Mummy had to deal with a grump and all she could think was she’d much rather be dealing with her own grump. Who’s that? Is it you

Pollock: *laughs* umm foo foo (Mummy is fun)

Adam: Rough day

Suzanna: Yeah. I’m so glad to be home Adam. Do you want to just order some pizza

Adam: Why not? I have cooked all week, and Silas will be pleased

Silas: Pizza! Maybe we’re not actually from Sixam, maybe we’re from pizza planet

Suzanna: From inside a claw machine

Silas: Yes!

Suzanna copes with another pee disaster but manages to shepherd both boys to bed while Adam hangs the washing and finishes off the vacuuming.

Adam: You should just fire her

Suzanna: So she can sue me? No thanks. But she reminded me how grateful I am to have you, and our kids, and this house in a town half filled with aliens. We may not have found home on Sixam but you’re making us one here, with me

Oooo hm. I'll be honest with you and say that I don't actually watch as much Chinese dramas as people might think haha... It takes a very special premise to pull me in and even then, I usually don't end up liking 70% of whatever is on and abandoning it by the 3rd episode.

That said, I'm going to limit my picks to the top 5 off the top my head in each category. These are actors and actresses who, by virtue of their names being attached to a project, will get me interested in making it to episode 5 and of whom I have watched more than 2 projects that they've been a part of.

Our family's Fei Liu 🥰 I know, I know. Didi is the furthest thing from Fei Liu these days, but in my mind, he'll forever be Fei Liu and there's a huge part of me that will always adore him for that. Throughout the years, his projects have been a hit or a miss with me. Either I'll like them or I won't. Which is what I like. I don't want to like everything my faves are part of.

HIM. Saw him in Maiden Holmes. Watched how he acts with his eyes. Okay. Sold. Over the last couple of years, the one drama I really wanted to see him in was the TGCF live action adaptation, which as we all will know, won't be seeing the light of day any time soon. He was actually on my fancast list for Hua Cheng and I was pretty gratified when they announced that he was taking on the role.

He's been doing well for himself and I've liked him the dramas that have caught my eye, and I look forward to what he will bring to the table next. Even if he had been, unfairly in my opinion, saddled with this perception that his dramas have a difficult time getting to air.

Zhao Liying is someone with a face that is so sweet that you'd go into her projects thinking that she's going to portray one type of character then getting body slammed into a spiral of a drama length like The Story of Minglan.

Zhao Lusi

This woman is on track to being the best actress of her generation. Period. You can't fight me on this because you know I'm right.

She's an absolute powerhouse and there's this sense about her that she isn't afraid to get ugly, go roll in the mud and get dirty just to portray a character. I love that about her. There's just this sense of joy to watch her act because she's not just embodying the character, she IS the character. I wouldn't be surprised if her international audience reach is really big because it's what a Queen like her deserves.

Tian Xiwei

Now, she is someone that I never thought I would be into. But I think the dimples should have been a good indication that I was gonna get suckered into her projects and for that, I'm glad. I've only seen bits and bobs of three of her projects, but if the way that I am actually intrigued by the projects she takes on is any clue, I think I'll be sufficiently entertained.

Liu Mintao

Every time I see her, I wanna just be on my knees and call her Mother.

She is absolutely fantastic in every role she takes on. The gentle but steely Consort Jing in Nirvana in Fire? The nurturing and protective Ming Jing in The Disguiser? Check and Check. Love her. I low key think she's a chameleon. Her body of work speaks to the quality of her acting.

The first time she ever pinged on my radar, it was because of her antics with Lisa from Blackpink during her Produce days. Found her cute and endearing, but that was it. And then came Love Between Fairy and Devil. Without knowing, I fell in love with her charms. She is another actress I think isn't afraid to own being neck deep in the nitty and gritty and not looking perfect. I'm very interested to see what sort of projects she takes on, and judging by her Yun Weishan in My Journey to You, I think there'll be much to anticipate.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I love how the narrator states that Giorno's heart became a righteous one, but whatever that means is incredibly subjective. Sure, I like to think that he tries his best to do good, but we hardly get to really see what his goals really are. Can we trust that he actually wants to ban the drug trade aimed at vulnerable people, or did he say so because he's deduced that he could manipulate Bucciaratti that way? That's something I've seen being debated a lot, especially since the manga didn't have that anime scene where The Gangster is specifically against drug trading with children (therefore implying that Giorno adopted the same belief). He also just has no qualms about killing an enemy before he's met them properly (like Sale), because hey this is the mafia, they're going to kill you if you don't kill them first. Even in the enemy rush that's Stardust Crusaders, most enemies just have to get bonked hard enough to take a nap.

But listen, maybe it's because I'm biased or whatever, but even from a more objective lens, Giorno seems to care deeply even if he can't show it. I keep thinking specifically about the part where he talks to Bucciaratti in the car to Rome, and how distraught he seems. You can argue that his pride was hurt because GE failed and he was about to lose a strong ally, and I mean maybe that's part of it. But it's during the solitary and quiet moments that we see Giorno as himself a little bit more, and coincidentally those are my favourite canon moments of him.

He also just let cats walk all over him at the docks and doesn't bother to do anything about it. So there's that.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

We could've gotten a cool 1 v 1 battle between pre-GER Giorno and Daivolo, BUT WE DIDN'T and I'm so sad about it. His dad got to destroy half of Cairo with Jotaro, this just isn't fair. I want to see what a life-bringer vs time-skip fight looks like. Maybe Giorno's doing that to distract Diavolo while everyone else was chasing after Chariot Requiem, you know?

What if Diavolo thinks he can stand-rush Giorno's vine shield during the time skip, but when time resumed he gets pummeled via attack reflection.

What if Giorno distracted Diavolo with a giant tree growing, which Diavolo dodges via time skip, only to get skunk-sprayed in the face.

What if he slips on a banana that turns into a gun.

We were robbed of self-proclaimed time lord mafia boss getting decked by a 15-year-old flower boy in the most looney tune ways possible.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Eh......... I feel like that's more up to him. I'd probably be nervous because I don't like to bother people in general, but I think we'd mostly likely keep to ourselves most of the time anyway. Maybe share infodumps sometimes, I don't know.

It might just be a security concern if I keep bumping into enemy stand users and gang members though.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

I don't have one, to be honest. I like the symbolic duality that he and Fugo has, but I've never felt super strongly about Giorno being attracted to anyone romantically.

I do think he has very deep bonds with his friends though. I just like the idea of him trying to maintain relationships with what's left of the team. It would be hard because of power imbalances, the journey's aftermath, and the consequences of Giorno's actions. Maybe he grows up never being close to anyone, platonically or otherwise. But there's still the possibility that, after years of ostracization and neglect, maybe he'll finally have a family.
