then they had a baby & forgot to bring said child with them when they eventually left (ik it sounds sad but dw lyam like. barely knew these people they dont gaf. ANYWAY); SO. LYAM GREW UP IN THAT PLACE YADA YADA. WELL ONE DAY. AFTER THEY’D BEEN THERE FOR UPWARDS OF 20 YEARS, ONE OF FONTAINE’S DIVERS NOTICED THEM AND WAS LIKE “erm??? i dont think this is legal hello are you supposed to be here????”

cue lyam being put on trial & boom technical first meeting with neuvillette. gotta be honest the entire thing was kinda boring bc it was all blown out of proportion just for lyam to be like “well i was born there, & none of you said anything till now” kinda thing. ANYWAY. since they were technically not guilty of a trespassing crime, they weren’t sent to meropide, but they were guilty of reading old documents that no one was supposed to see. (which wasnt what the trial was for so its not like anyone could do anything but whatever. anyways) instead of sending them to prison, neuvillette gave them a job :3 “work off your crimes” and all that. they’re technically a general investigator, bc they’re way too observant for they’re own good, but what they were really there for is to research this place ↴

which is within the former institute’s walls. only bc it might give them some hint to prevent fontaine’s prophecy & neuvi AND furina wanna be more safe than sorry.

ANYWAY THATS THEIR FIRST MEETING. BASICALLY A SILLY MISUNDERSTANDING TRIAL TURNS INTO A CONSENSUAL WORKPLACE RELATIONSHIP.

as for their dynamic, its so simple in retrospect but actually very hard to word. but it’s basically like?? rather than a relationship that was initially built on friendship or whatnot, its built solely on trust and understanding. both of them feel outcasted, despite technically having a place within fontaine’s borders. so its like “if you and i are outcasts together, its less lonely”

plus both of them have a stronger connection with hydro than other people. neuvillette because he’s literally the sovereign. & lyam bc they grew up in the water (probably too close to the primordial sea but they’re not from fontaine so its fine). so they also have that natural pull to one another.

they’re also very quiet individuals, but lyam also does have wriothesley’s exact sense of humour, but they just have this perpetual seriousness about them so everyone thinks they’re actually insane. (it makes neuvillette’s days a lot more interesting though so it’s okay :3)

ANYWAY. they’re a comfy couple. always got each other’s backs, even when the other doesn’t realise. always aware of each other. bc hey. they’re each other’s person. they gotta.

ALSO IF I CAN GIVE A HC ON THEIR WORK RELATIONSHIP REAL QUICK— lyam is kinda like neuvillette’s shadow :3 (im still working on their kit, but hypothetically speaking they’d be a buffer/support & a sub dps for him. & any other dps really). no one ever really sees them unless they have to, or unless lyam just feels like it. but they don’t want neuvi taking on cases himself, bc he’s too important for that 🤷 so they do it 🤷 (bro’s the grim reaper /j)

Hi! Since you want to lucid dream but are scared of sleep paralysis-

First of all, don’t worry lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis are totally separate. (Well maybe not TOTALLY).

Lucid dreaming is when you have a dream but you are aware that you’re dreaming. You can manipulate it by changing the environment etc.

Sleep paralysis is when your body is in a state of paralysis when reaching in the middle of 2-3rd stage of sleep, but you mind is still conscious.

You can open your eyes and move maybe a finger or a toe at max. You will start hallucinating demons, hear whispers, feel something on-top of you etc while being totally paralysed and unable to move.

I have been having sleep paralysis since I was very young and didn’t even know it was a thing. I genuinely thought I was possessed. Somehow to counter that I developed the ability to lucid dream separately.

Sleep paralysis was absolutely terrifying for me because I didn’t know what it even was and never could even ask someone about it. Until I took to the internet to educated myself about it.

That was also when I learnt that I know how to lucid dream and apparently not every-one can control their dream.

Thats when I had the genius idea to combine my lucid dream ability to my sleep paralysis. Now that’s what I do.

Basically, it’s sounds goofy but I have demons chasing after me etc etc and I have give my “dream” self combat abilities or powers to help me. I do realise that none of it’s real but in the heat of the moment I do so anyway because it’s absolutely terrifying. Usually they only last 3-4 minutes but I swear they feeling like hours and always in the end I start panicking about why it hasn’t ended yet!

Anyways, lucid dreaming can be taught, and your chances of triggering a sleep paralysis from it is highly minuscule. I have been practicing it for 10 years now, I definitely recommend you to give it a shot because it’s the coolest thing ever! Start of simple by making it night or day and other small things. If you do find yourself in a sleep paralysis—Close your eyes and ignore any whispers or sounds…

6. Delilah's dress

I mean Delilah's probably my favorite RH character (not doll specifically but character) just based on her description (according to the fandom wiki, im like 99% sure i saw it on mga's website too at one point but now i cant find it??) being a sweet blue ridge country gal and all and like. What's more country blue ridge mountain buttercup than her dress tbh. It's just so pretty and delicate, it's one of those pieces i almost never wanna take off once its on a doll just bc its so nice. Also shoutout to her boots I will always shoutout cowboy boots

5. Tie between Daria's doc martens and jacket

Tbh i was going back and forth and which should be here bc I didn't wanna put 2 pieces from the same doll in 2 spots, but i think this spot fits them both bc i like them for largely the same reasons- they look good with a lot of my other dolls (not jist RH but a couple of my ooak monster highs) and they're pieces I'd want irl. Ive been trying to get my hands on some boots that are close enough to doc martens (even if they arent bc if they look cool idgaf abt the actual brand) and i got pretty close at a thrift store, but they were one size too small 😔 anyway good pieces. Shoutoht to Daria she was one of my first rh dolls

4. Sheryl's jacket

Hot (or possibly cold idk) take I don't think there's a single bad piece in either of Sheryl's outfits. They're all perfect. I have not yet seen clueless but its been in my "movies i need to watch over quarantine" list that i made in april 2020 since the beginning and i think this is a sign to watch it. Anyway the jacket's here bc it's the most iconic part imo, but like also shoutout to both of her heels, all of her 2nd outfit, the sheer top i've used for like four separate dolls outfits, the earrings, the belt, literally everything else etc etc

3. Krystal's Fishnets

This one's pretty simple- her fishnets are just really versatile! They're like real life fishnets. Goes with a lot! Looks good on pretty much anyone! Improves any situation! Fits my monster high ooaks! They also look great in them!

Uma holds a special place in my heart for the simple fact that she is a guitarist. And i am a guitarist. And we have similar hats. <3 but also like none of my other rh dolls have hats and hats for dolls are just good accessories but ESPECIALLY this hat specifically. I do the same but im trying to get back into better habits like journaling, like sometimes i just cant cry because ive bottled everything up for so long. So i very much urge ppl to cry when they can because its not a great feeling not being able to cry when you need to cry. Like even if its small, cry about it its fine. I forgot what voice i used for my character but i think it was some generic dude voice, i have been a little out of practice with my deeper voices though. Candles are a lot to take care of so i get it. I just have two main rules i follow for the life of my candle and the safety of my cats. Im the type of person where if i see soot in your candles i try to clean that out to lessen fire risk bc they can be dangerous, its something ppl never notice but thats ok i just want them to be safe. I used to play with the wax like that too!! It low key led to me trying to experiment a little with wax play which was interesting to say the least.

1. manburg had massive food shortages, to the point the average citizen (including fundy) had to eat spider eyes to survive.

2. he imposed ludicrious tax of his civillians (namely niki. we dont know if he did that to Every Business like w fundy or if he targeted niki specifically bc of her closeness to the ex-president, but neither is good)

3. exiled those who he saw as political opponents to keep his power

4. straight up ignored his cabinet a lot of the time to make his own decisions (such as destroying the white house, which led to quackity leaving)

5. was widely hated by all the citizens. literally at one point all the ppl left in manburg was schlatt and jack manifold (who was MIA on the server and left to found Manifold Land when he came back)

6. held a public execution, AGAIN without the consent or knowledge of his cabinet (IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. i know big q opposed the execution at minimum, but idk for sure if he knew it was planned at all before the festival)

7. was basically at war his entire presidency thanks to pogtopia's existence

and thats just what i can think of rn! the reasons i like c!schlatt are fully based around him as a character and HIS personal development, not around his policies or actions. especially when compared to the other two presidents, who either won or prevented a war and kept the majority of its citizens happier and healthier than Manburg, he's.... probably the worst president they had tbh

BUT since you gave me an excuse to ramble abt him anyway, i wanna go on abt what i DO like abt him (under a cut bc this post is already kinda long oops) but

tldr; i like schlatt bc of his relationships with others, his flaws and pitiable moments, and how he is a fantastic parallel/foil to the characters around him

I like his complex (and yes, abusive) relationship with quackity, especially after his death and quackity's feelings flipping rapidly between hating him and missing him. but before that they did have a honeymoon-esque period-- at least from quackity's view.

watching their date you get the idea schlatt mightve never really been interested in him and mightve just been using quackity's interest in him for his own advancement! but we dont know.

maybe he did truly love quackity in his own fucked up way in the end, even if he wasnt a good person. maybe he regrets his actions and cruelty. or maybe he doesnt.

in the end they were (like the animatic i linked said) "built from the same dirt", they're both incredibly ambitious and prideful people and parallel each other a LOT (see: q's need for power, his want to execute ranboo paralleling tubbos execution, etc). they're not good for one another, but i love seeing just how they fall apart together (i hope you die, i hope we both die kind of beat)

and.... god his relationship and impact w fundy i could ramble abt all day dude. fundy kept schlatt's sword after his death and calls it an heirloom. we dont know 100% how old fundy was when wilbur was exiled (i mena... he ran for president but current fundy is like 20something and tommy ALSO ran as vp at 16) but we can assume he was a late teen. his own father was gone, but schlatt... seemed to CARE. he showed him affection.

fundy's never truly felt like hes BELONGED anywhere (even the country his father said was all for him, he felt ostracized and made different by his fathers doting babying) and because of that hes always looking for a group to be a part of. hes a people pleaser (its part of why hes so easy for big q to get for las nevadas).

and schlatt GIVES him that feeling of belonging he deserves. hes a spy the entire time, yes, but he becomes conflicted about it as time goes on.

could schlatt just be using fundy and filling his head with empty praise? sure, i couldnt fault you at all for that interpretation, its perfectly valid. BUT, i dont think so. he seemed genuinely shocked to see fundy oppose him on nov 16th. remember, he didnt know fundy was a spy.

in that moment he realizes just HOW alone he is and always has been. and its a tragic moment: the last person he had, the person he himself mightve truly CARED about left him just like everyone else. he was alone, truly and fully. even his allies were only there out of obligation and bc of him paying.

he knows his health has been failing him. he cant even swim due to muscular issues but he refuses see a doctor about it because he refuses to let himself be seen as weak.

hell, one could argue that issue leads to his abraisive and abusive behavoir in relationships: he refuses to let himself be true and genuine to anyone, there always has to be a wall and a proud perfect persona. its part of why hes a great villain both in narrative and to watch as a casual fan: just like c!wilbur, he's playing an act.

hes a foil and a parallel to wilbur. both are men who hide their true selves behind a certain role or persona they feel they have to play while they hide their crumbling health (schlatt's more physical and wilbur's more mental). both experience their rise and fall. but wilbur isnt despised, even if he thinks he is, while schlatt isnt truly loved by anyone, even if he thinks he is.

most of all, their deaths couldnt be more different. wilbur went out with a bang. a large dramatic scene fit for a storybook, with a long monologue and cinematic final blow ALL made to fit how he saw himself in a story and simply filling a required roll. but schlatts death is practically overlooked (especially in comparison to wilburs death and everything else that happened that day).

he built his entire persona about being this massive, larger than life powerful guy but he died small, weak, and frail to his own failing body. its... pitiful, honestly. it doesnt feel fitting, it feels wrong. his life up that point demanded drama, but his death was nothing more than... an accident, almost. unintentional. clumsy. its fucking brilliant.

Leverage (team of modern day robin hoods ruin rich peoples’ lives via  delightfully crafted spy cons to give back to the regular folks the rich people hurt. Extremely good, strong found family vibes, and v cathartic)

Brooklyn 99 (follows diverse cast of character who make up a NY precinct. Hilarious, immensely wholesome & groundbreaking, & probs the most lighthearted crime show besides like psych tbh)

Blackspot/Zone Blanche (spoopy french/belgium crime series set in a small village way out in the mountains surrounded by misty, mysterious and murdery woods. eerie and atmospheric, but also like one of my fave characters (everyone calls him teddy bear) keeps a pet guinea pig at work, so it’s not entirely grim and bleak)

Longmire (a modern western crime drama centering around the titular sheriff and others in their small town wyoming county, well written and lot of chracter development revealed alongside some really good case mysteries bc i love trying to figure out whodunits apparently based on a book series well adored by dads btw)

(natsume yujinchou, leverage or longmire) um... real torn between natsume and leverage here, they’re both such lovely gems that do found family so, so well.. leverage is a team of modern robin hood-esque spies with brilliant writing and exciting heists and multiple delightful plot twists every episode and great character building and so much catharticism in ruining evil rich peoples lives.

but natsume’s title character is one of my very favorite characters ever, hes been through so much but he becomes the most kindest and thoughtful boy ever, and its so, so soft and gentle in its development of characters and their slow build of getting to know each other and becoming friends, and the interactions with the paranormal world are very rarely entirely malicious/scary, and there’s pretty well no romance, at least like no romance for plot/with the main characters anyways, and there’s lots of female characters who have important roles but arent sexualized/killed off for man feels/exist for romo (which sadly cannot be said about a lot of media, especially manga/anime tbh, even leverage does not win entirely on that front).. its defintiely my favorite anime ever (i dont watch loads, but literally no other one can ever come close to topping its perfection),
