Navigating Deep Space by Starlight

On August 6, 1967, astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell noticed a blip in her radio telescope data. And then another. Eventually, Bell Burnell figured out that these blips, or pulses, were not from people or machines.

The blips were constant. There was something in space that was pulsing in a regular pattern, and Bell Burnell figured out that it was a pulsar: a rapidly spinning neutron star emitting beams of light. Neutron stars are superdense objects created when a massive star dies. Not only are they dense, but neutron stars can also spin really fast! Every star we observe spins, and due to a property called angular momentum, as a collapsing star gets smaller and denser, it spins faster. It’s like how ice skaters spin faster as they bring their arms closer to their bodies and make the space that they take up smaller.

The pulses of light coming from these whirling stars are like the beacons spinning at the tops of lighthouses that help sailors safely approach the shore. As the pulsar spins, beams of radio waves (and other types of light) are swept out into the universe with each turn. The light appears and disappears from our view each time the star rotates.

After decades of studying pulsars, astronomers wondered—could they serve as cosmic beacons to help future space explorers navigate the universe? To see if it could work, scientists needed to do some testing!

First, it was important to gather more data. NASA’s NICER, or Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer, is a telescope that was installed aboard the International Space Station in 2017. Its goal is to find out things about neutron stars like their sizes and densities, using an array of 56 special X-ray concentrators and sensitive detectors to capture and measure pulsars’ light.

But how can we use these X-ray pulses as navigational tools? Enter SEXTANT, or Station Explorer for X-ray Timing and Navigation Technology. If NICER was your phone, SEXTANT would be like an app on it.  

During the first few years of NICER’s observations, SEXTANT created an on-board navigation system using NICER’s pulsar data. It worked by measuring the consistent timing between each pulsar’s pulses to map a set of cosmic beacons.

When calculating position or location, extremely accurate timekeeping is essential. We usually rely on atomic clocks, which use the predictable fluctuations of atoms to tick away the seconds. These atomic clocks can be located on the ground or in space, like the ones on GPS satellites. However, our GPS system only works on or close to Earth, and onboard atomic clocks can be expensive and heavy. Using pulsar observations instead could give us free and reliable “clocks” for navigation. During its experiment, SEXTANT was able to successfully determine the space station’s orbital position!

We can calculate distances using the time taken for a signal to travel between two objects to determine a spacecraft’s approximate location relative to those objects. However, we would need to observe more pulsars to pinpoint a more exact location of a spacecraft. As SEXTANT gathered signals from multiple pulsars, it could more accurately derive its position in space.

So, imagine you are an astronaut on a lengthy journey to the outer solar system. You could use the technology developed by SEXTANT to help plot your course. Since pulsars are reliable and consistent in their spins, you wouldn’t need Wi-Fi or cell service to figure out where you were in relation to your destination. The pulsar-based navigation data could even help you figure out your ETA!

None of these missions or experiments would be possible without Jocelyn Bell Burnell’s keen eye for an odd spot in her radio data decades ago, which set the stage for the idea to use spinning neutron stars as a celestial GPS. Her contribution to the field of astrophysics laid the groundwork for research benefitting the people of the future, who yearn to sail amongst the stars.

Another Approach To Online Sugaring

Recently I took a break from dating. The dating apps can get exhausting and sometimes you’re just not in a place where you have the physical/emotional energy to get dressed up and go out. I didn’t want the money to stop, so I decided to start camming again but only for online sugar dating(OSD)/girlfriend experience (GFE). It’s been such a success I decided to make a post about it.

When I reactivated my no face cam accounts, I started casually talking to users in my chat rooms. There were a good share of users who just want to chat. If you have an outgoing personality, this is really easy and comes natural. We would talk about all sorts of things from what they do for work/fun, casual interests, kinks. I’d tell them stories, my POVs on pop culture topics, fantasies, made up stuff. At this point I noticed specific users were tipping in the general chat. I focused on those users and made sure to show them the most attention and they continued to tip. They’d often initiate a private session (more $ per min) and we’d continue chatting.

If you’re consistent with signing in at least 1-2x a week, it’s easy to find someone who adores you. I created a Snapchat (SC) profile and advertised it on my cam site as a way for users to connect with me 1:1. Set it up so they have to pay to get the username. Using SC, I posted no face pics with a link to my wishlist/cashapp and sparingly answered messages (mostly messages inquiring about pricing/services never free endless chatting). Later I created a price menu for services offered and shared that from time to time on my story. Once a relationship is established, it’s super easy to straight up ask for money. Since they met you on a paid cam site they already know what’s up so don’t let anyone pretend to be naive or use your time for free.

Overall this has been a flexible way to earn money that is relatively easy and low maintenance. Most of these clients are lonely and desperate for female attention so making each feel special is the key.

Things to Note/Logistics

I personally don’t show my face by having the cam positioned from the neck down. But other no face cam girls have talked about using full or half face masks to conceal their identity. Given the nature of “professionalism” in our fields I can understand a lot of us wanting to preserve our identities. But do what you’re comfy with! I’d suggest no nudity in free chat otherwise users will be less likely to pay for private.

Each cam site is different and pays differently. Most let you adjust your price settings as you like. I researched the sites with the most consistent/quickest payout schedule and reputation by searching Reddit posts and cam girl forums. I picked my favorite sites shared below.

To maximize earnings, I stream multiple sites at a time by opening tabs. Some use OBS software but I haven’t had the time to figure out how to incorporate that yet.

I changed the settings to allow only users with money to participate in chat. This helps reduce hecklers and incels looking for a free show.

Sites have varying popularity during different times/day. Keep that in mind when starting out so that you can develop a schedule. We’re busy professionals irl so making sure to cam on days/nights that have the most earning potential saves a lot of time.

Different clients have different needs so it’s important to be flexible and only take on clients you’d be comfortable with. I have clients that want me to be bossy and mean while others want a more traditional GFE where they’re the caretaker (think MTS “daddy am I your baby” type of thing lol).

Tips to Earn More

Share your wishlist in your bio across platforms. I like to use throne.

Create a links page and share to let your big spenders get notified when you’re online. I use beacons

I use sextpanther to supplement on weeks that are too busy to cam. I love the convenience of texting and it yields good money.

If you want to incorporate toys in your private shows when you’re starting out, use Aliexpress to order cheap toys. Eventually when you gain a consistent following, I suggest making the guys pay for anything they’d like to see you use and of course non sexual gifts for you too!

Keep a list/diary of users to keep track across platforms. Make note of their interests/kinks/imp things they’ve shared so you can refer to it during sessions.

But Stanley does not respond.

Or rather, he does—but only to the bucket.

To him, the bucket is no longer an object. It is a lighthouse in a foggy world obsessed with order and efficiency.

And as you watch Stanley cling to his bucket with unshakable devotion, you might find yourself wondering:

Is it really madness? Or is it something else entirely?

Because deep down, you’ve already begun to understand:

Joan was nervous as she led Coco into her private room. She was a larger than life and intimidating person, and Joan was naturally worried about the reason of this chat request. She swallowed reflexively as she heard the door latch shut behind her.

"Shall we have a seat?" Coco asked, before adding, "We have a few things to talk about so this might take a bit."

"I... I only have my bed." Joan replied weakly.

"That's fine." Coco responded and Joan watched as the fashionista of Beacon plopped herself down on the edge of Joan's unmade bed, making a show of crossing her legs and giving Joan a wink.

Joan inwardly groaned and pressed her thighs together. She didn't;t understand it, but ever since the change. Ever since she transitioned from Jaune to Joan, she was finding so many more things... stimulating... Coco being one of the big ones.

"Joan, is everything okay?"

"Why... why do you ask?" Joan squeaked out.

"You seem a bit... flustered."

"I'm... I'm fine."

"Joan... please don;t lie. I can easily see something has you worked up." Coco countered. "Come have a seat. I want to have a little chat... just us girls."

Joan bit her bottom lip, before moving to take a seat on the bed next to Coco.

"Well Pyrrha let some of what you had said that day slip..." Joan's face went instantly nuclear red., and she made a move to bolt, only for Coco's hand to softly grab hers. "You don't have to do that."

"I'm sorry... I..." Joan didn't know what else to say. Coco's action to keep her from bolting, was so soft, comforting and almost intimate.

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it... flattering... and I can... I can promise you that I do take you seriously, even if I sometimes act like I don't"

"But..."

"There is no but. I like you Joan, I do, and I would like to see if things could... if we give them a chance... develop further... if you want to also try, that is."

"I... I..."

"You don;t have to answer, now or ever... I just wanted to let you know, and if you need time to figure out what you want... I can wait." Coco gave Joan what she could only describe the softest, sweetest and most endearing smile she had ever seen, as she released Joan's hand. "Now for the next confession..."

Coco fished out her scroll, and took a moment to open an app.

"I'm only being so upfront with you... because Piper... well she said she'd relax the 'No Relationships' rule for me... if I found out some very specific."

Joan felt her heart start to thump in her chest.

My Cas is from the end of S5, and I have also put him on the Summer Path, meaning he has all of his angelic powers but no memory of who or what he is. Having his mentor back to help him find his way would be so great for his development. Also, if you pick up Tony, there's already a Stark Industries waiting for him to play with (and I also write Steve Rogers which could make for some draaaaaamaaaa). Plus, we have a whole cast of Marvel chars to write with.

Dreams! I love dreams!

I'm not Islamic but I've read about djinns before when I was around 15 and I asked a friend who was islam a lot of questions. You can imagine how terrified younger me was when I found a mark that could be interpreted as a djinn mark after waking up from a nap 😭

I have the most insane dreams and usually I can remember the entirety of it and just type everything the moment I wake up so I don't end up forgetting it (my notes app hates me for it 😭). I think the most plot filled dream was an apocalypse one, the explanation was something about it being a strand of rabies and how it evolved to make humans more rabid but filled with rage then somehow it evolved to make them more durable?!! It was accidentally leaked by some government and it spread too quickly then humanity decided to form "domes" to house the uninfected. There were around 20 domes around the world in different countries (max was 25 but 5 fell because people were being stupid, can you imagine that people were literally denying that the virus was even a thing like how they denied covid? Crazy 😂).

And the military was reconstructed to something more simple, each dome had a "commander" and there were squads with some holding a specific purpose and others just for fighting. The squads would be deployed to regain more land for humanity. They even developed a form of "beacon" that would help the agents (that's what they were referred to) identify severe levels of contamination and another invention that would help agents last longer outside for missions. That's why the domes were built, because the virus had managed to become sort of airborne?

A lot of agents used to die when sent out on missions which is why a shit ton of stuff was invented for them. Then it turns out that the most OP person was part of some dangerous experiments that the higher ups were running. The gist is that they would look for different individuals that could co-exist in a way with the virus. A lot of people died and they would use those to then develop a serum that could stall the symptoms while keeping the durability/strength. But the person would still slowly become corrupted. And then the plot plot was figuring out who was purposefully collapsing different domes, lowering the numbers from 20 down to 28. Part of the ending was exposing how even in an apocalypse, those in control would do inhumane things, and that the rich would stomp on the poor.

I just realized how long this is, I am so sorry 😭. I always ramble when it comes to dreams 😭. And I'm not that great of a writer so I don't write about them to anyone either 🤧
