gods i wish i knew how to blender properly i have this hat i made that i really wish i could put in the sims 4 but i couldnt figure out anything other than forming the hat and ultimately gave up

very cursory attempts at rendering in blender. i have no idea how to change the background colour or make the entire thing brighter or crop the render so i did a fair few adjustments in procreate cause it was way too dark with way too much dead space. i did figure out how to switch the texture interpolation to nearest instead of linear so it’s not blurry, how to make the ribbon texture properly transparent instead of opaque, and sorta how to edit and add light sources, so it’s still a win. the quality difference between the blockbench screenshots i put in the progress posts vs even rudimentary blender renders is so stark lmao

currently watching : i just finished watching idolish 7 and havent picked up anything else yet no the next plan of things to watch is all of gabriel aguiar's vfx tutorials followed by chamferzones 3d modeling tips

currently reading : do visual novel count bc im playing through ai : the somnium files and it does require reading imma be honest i havent read much in the last year and the dyslexia is kinda worst bc out of practice

current obbession : him- enstars do you know that i m sosososo normal about enstars and himeru in particular i havent been rambling about this to every person willing to listen for the past year

mushroomy fairy house attempt 𖹭 18/03/2025

so... i've finally managed to follow tutorial from beginning to end and i can say i am kinda happy with how things turned out. yes, it's not perfect but for a first attempt following a tutorial i would say i've done a pretty okay job.

the first picture is a more high contrast render while the second is lower contrast. i'm not sure which one i prefer more so i decided to share both of them.

if anyone has any more ideas for good tutorials out there to learn blender or just tips and tricks for better builds, i'd love to hear them out!
