i saw this post and decided that i had some time spare, i could give AI another go. (link to post https://www.tumblr.com/dibelonious/778852078032404480/now-that-ai-made-troubleshooting-ridiculously. dont harass the poor old sod obviously.)

i hear a lot of people irl at uni and some online say ai is great for coding, and so every couple months i try it out. sometimes with a very small project in a popular language (python or c, usually. though im forgiveful with c as everyone fucks up c.), sometimes with something simple (i.e. a couple lines tops with a naive approach if written idiomatically) but in a more unusual language with full documentation online. (like sed! yay!)

but every single time i come to the conclusion that even with being handheld chatgpt could not do what it was asked to do. even if someone tells it every issue in its outputs, itll remember for only one prompt. even if someone tells it the solution, itll find a new way to fuck it up.

below the cut is me trying to get chatgpt to make a working sed script that prints "meowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..." (long post warning)

(if anything reads weirdly, this was originally a reblog to the screenshotted post, then i decided to make it its own post. so that may be why.)

i cant remember the last time i ran into an issue that i couldnt fix in like ... 5 minutes. but knowing what chatgpt is like, any ask i give it will give me issues to troubleshoot. (yes this example is code, not linux proper. but its more of the same doing that.)

the other day i decided to write "meowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....." in many different languages, after seeing @brainfuck-official do it in BF. (link to post https://www.tumblr.com/brainfuck-official/773510105608192000) as is my blog, i asked it to do this in sed.

great! this script doesnt work! it doesnt even come *close* to working, giving me plenty to try out chatgpt's troubleshooting skills! it also just doesnt make much sense. why the shebang but not making it executable? and why are the flags different (ones -f, ones -nf). also a counter? why though? thats not what im asking for? (you can see tags for a brief explanation on how to add a counter)

after telling it the script doesnt work (and why, something someone troubleshooting likely wont know) it just adds in a P. a command that prints a damn newline. but it lies about it printing a newline.

(if you dont believe it prints a trailing newline and believe the AI instead, just try echo -n foo | sed -n 'P ; P')

anyways it alternated between no print statements and printing with newlines for the next ... 8 prompts, by which time i felt sorry for the poor bugger and told it to use e to print without a newline.

all the while it was trying to be more useful and add a count - making it print my string after n repeats instead of the infinite that i asked for. it was trying to subtract 1 with effectively s/[0-9]+/&-1/ which just appends the string "-1" to a number!

anyways, i tell it to use "the e command". there are three different versions of the e command in sed, and only one of them makes sense here. which did chatgpt use? none! it used the e regex modifier! which executes your pattern hold, then turns the output into the new pattern hold. and does not print anything.

ill just screenshot the last couple interactions minus only the useless exposition it adds to every response so you can see how stupid it is

ignoring sed's requirement for an input this is equivalent to the python

to be fair i never said there shouldnt be infinite meows, and this does have infinite Ws. but come the fuck on. this is clearly not whats being asked for.

The Gilded Mane Corpse Wolf

A demonic beast from the wastes of the demon realms, they are solitary creatures who seldom form packs. They begin life as scavengers, the pups setting off on their own and surviving off of scraps as they seek out the strongest demonic beast they can find. They learn to hunt and stalk, waiting for the powerful beast they have chosen to meet an untimely end and on the rare occasion delivering the final blow to carry it to death’s door. The Gilded Mane Corpse Wolf will then make its territory around its chosen one’s resting place, guarding the decomposing monster, feasting on it, and waiting for its bones to be picked clean by vermin as it grows to a size comparable to the dead beast.

When the bones are clean and free, the Gilded Mane Corpse Wolf will arrange the bones and roll in them- tangling them into its long golden fur until they are secure. With a surge of demonic energy the fur hardens into a metallic material, permanently affixing the bones as armor.

It is less of a scavenger at this point, depending on the kind of beast skeleton the Wolf has grown to don, it can range from a sleek and quick deadly predator equipped with sharp spurs of bone to a nigh impenetrable foe with thick armor. It then stalks its territory, expanding its borders and driving away strong beasts, inflicting them with deep wounds.

The pups are often sought out by demonic courts as trophies. Plucked from their pilgrimage for their clean and untangled fur that has many uses from a brilliant conduit for demonic energy to being used for beautiful embroidery to hardening into its metallic form for weapons. Less commonly, they are captured to be trained as war hounds. They are difficult to tame and raise, the confinement making it difficult for them to grow and become suitable for the handpicked bones its captors try to make it don. But on the rare occasion that its owners are successful they make formidable beasts on the battlefield regardless of their unpredictable temper.

It is not recommended to approach this demonic beast alone, given as each one is unique outfitted it is impossible to plan ahead to fight. They are best fought with a team of cultivators that possess a wide range of fighting styles and experiences. The bones of the Gilded Mane Corpse Wolf are potent with Demonic energy but if harvested and cleansed can be used for crafted powerful spiritual objects with a strength for detecting evil. The ivory crafted this way always carries a lovely golden sheen. The fur can also be used as a potent material for weaving spells and talismans into fabric. It is unknown if humans are capable of taming these creatures as the pups reside very far in the demon realm and are experts at evasion. On the few noted experiences of cultivators finding escaped trained Wolves, they do not seem keen on taking human instruction.

Leonardo:

You and Leo’s first date was a small and calm affair. It was nice, cozy and intimate, and nothing like you had ever experienced before. This was the kind of stuff you only expected to happen in movies, and that you might have been a few years too late for it. But then Leo came in, and showed you how a good old date was still possible.

You and Leo’s date took place on the roof of your apartment building, one nice summer night. With a small blanket Leo had borrowed from the lair without anybody noticing, along with you favorite kind of pizza and drinks, Leo had set a small corner for the two of you, where you could eat and talk in peace, while watching the people and cars pass on the street below, or lean back to watch whatever stars you could see, despite the light pollution, making it pretty much impossible to see.

Though it was in the middle of the summer, midnight could get a bit chilly. That was when Leo wrapped his arms around you, and held you close, as the two of you talked about all of the small things you had thought about. No worries about responsibilities, or what unpredictable things the next day might bring. Only you and Leo, enjoying a nice and peaceful evening together, with nothing but the city as background noise.

Raphael:

Some people might do something small, and maybe very predictable for their first date. A picnic, a dinner, maybe watching a few movies together. You know, something easy for two nervous people, that are still getting to know their knew dynamic. But not Raphael. He was not in for all the predictable stuff, nor was he any bit nervous, and neither did he want you to be nervous. He wanted your first date to be something special. Something unforgettable, and much better and much more memorable than any other date you had ever had with anybody else.

So for your first date, Raph took you wall climbing. Fucking wall climbing. And it was also there that you learned that the lair had a wall for climbing, in the far back. And you could not lie, it was one of the best dates you’ve ever had, with you and Raph laughing and enjoying your time together.

Raph would stand below, pulling the robe that helped you along the wall, and slowly lower you to the floor, in case you lost your footing, before making a show out of acting like he caught you in the most dramatic manner. It had the two of you throwing back your heads in laughter, at one point falling over on the mat, just laughing hysterically.

Donatello:

You and Donnie’s first date was in the lair, a day where Donnie had managed to get his family out, so you and him could have the place to yourself. Donnie had set up what could only be described as a large home cinema, with a large projection of the movie you were watching, onto a blank wall, while the two of you were getting cozy and comfortable on the large and soft couch that had been standing in the lair for ages.

Now, you and Donnie did not watch any romantic movies, that would give him an excuse to wrap an arm around you and kiss you, nor did you watch any horror movies, so you could hide against Donnie, seeking him for protection. No, you decided to watch comedies instead. Specifically Monty Python. You started out with Monty Python’s the Holy Grail, before watching a few episodes of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

It didn’t take long before you and Donnie was flat on the couch with laughter, giggling at all the bad and crude jokes, before continuing the joke between the two of you, to the point where neither of you could breath probably, due to how much you were laughing.

At the end of your date, you and Donnie were so tired from all the laughing, that you ended up spending the night to get some rest.

Mikey, who couldn’t sit down for more than ten minutes at the time, did not want to have - what he liked to call - a “sit down date”. Not only because he simply just couldn’t, but also because he didn’t think it was fair to you. How would you feel if you expected to sit down with Mikey for a long period of time, and he was just bouncing off the walls? Not good. Therefore Mikey decided it would be good to take you out, and make sure that you kept moving. His solution was to take you walking through a secluded area of Central Park at night, where you could do whatever the vibe told you to.

It was amazing weather, as you and Mikey made your way through the park, talking and laughing under the midnight sky. It didn’t take long before the two of you found a small playground, where you started to play around together. Sliding down the slides with your arms around each other, swinging each other on the swings, and climbing the monkey bars so you could sit together on the top.

And even as the few visible stars above you started to disappear behind dark clouds, you and Mikey still enjoyed the time together. And even as the sky opened up above you, sending down hard rain, you and Mikey just grabbed each other's hands, and started dancing around together.

Greek God Apollo ☀️

Hello everyone! We wanted our first informative post to be about this amazing god who has lighten our paths many times during these years. So here you have a small post about him!

Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, titan of the light of night and, later, light of day; and twin brother of Artemis.

God of light, medicine, diseases, plagues, dance, music, writing, arts, divination and prophecy, initiation, colonization, archery, youth and male beauty, among other things.

His best known places of worship were Delphi and Delos, but Apollo's cults have been all over Greece and have been very varied. Moreover, as a god of colonization, many of his cults invaded the lands of others and forced them to worship Apollo. A well-known case is that of the women who worshipped Gaia who ended up being massacred by one of the cults of Apollo, and it was this fact that gave rise to the myth of Apollo and Daphne.

Being such a popular god in both Greece and Rome, he has a multitude of myths that reflect very well his diversity and ambivalence. Let's talk about, for example, that of his birth, which can also be consulted in the Homeric Hymn III to Apollo. Here we will speak only of one of the versions, since it has several.

It all begins when Zeus got Leto pregnant. Hera, who was jealous, made it impossible for Leto to give birth anywhere both on land and in the ocean. Luckily for Leto, his sister Asteria had also been harassed by Zeus and, to escape from him, had turned herself into a floating island by the name of Ortigia. Thus, Leto found a place to rest.

However, Hera had put more obstacles in her way. She had forbidden Ilithia, goddess of childbirth, to attend the titanide, so Leto spent nine days and nine nights in agony until the other gods managed to bribe Ilithia.

First Artemis was born, who assisted her mother to help in the birth of Apollo; he was born on the seventh day of the month, hence the number usually associated with the god.

Ortigia was renamed Delos, where a temple and a statue were established in honor of Apollo. From here comes one of his epithets: Delius Apollo.

On the other hand, the serpent or dragon Python resided in Delphi, where he had an oracle. It is said that one of his prophecies spoke that it would be a son of Leto who would kill him, so he had pursued the Titan during her pregnancy and did not stop until Zeus put a stop to it.

Thus, on the fourth day of his birth, Apollo set out for Delphi with his bow and arrows in hand to avenge his mother. There he killed Python with one of his arrows, and one of his epithets is "Apollo far-shooter", and took the oracle. Other versions say that he chased the dragon to Tempe and killed him there.

Apollo established his oracle in Delphi and, in honor of Python, placed his bones in a cauldron that would serve both for the oracle and for the initiation of the Pythia. And here is born another of his epithets: Apollo Pythius.

As you can see, he is a rational and at the same time visceral god. He has his reasons for killing Python, but he still doesn't think twice and does it.

There are many more myths, such as that of Admetus and Apollo, Niobe and the children of Leto, or the well-known myths of Apollo and his lovers (which are not few), such as Daphne, Hyacinth, Cassandra, Cipariso or Coronis. I invite you to read them and learn about him.

As for his attributes, Apollo is related to the number 7, to wolves for shepherding, to mice for plagues, to laurel for his myth with Daphne or even for his myth with Python and his victory against him, to hyacinths for the myth of Hyacinth and an endless number of animals, plants and crystals such as crows, cypresses or the sunstone.

He is also characterized by his silver bow, the sun and the lyre, which he acquired from Hermes.

Apollo is the chief of the muses and nymphs, the lord of the arts in all fields, although at the beginning it was especially of dance. And, if you want to work something related to the arts, Apollo is the right god.

The arts, oratory, divination, sports, self-esteem, self-respect, anxiety, medicine (biosanitary field in general), decision making, personal growth, etc., are areas that can be worked with him.

Personally I have a very good relationship with Apolo. I have been in contact with him for a few years now and we have worked on some things together, and I can assure you that it is a pleasure to work and talk with him. I don't want to generalize, because the gods present themselves differently to each person, but he tends to be patient and very kind, as well as funny if he trusts you.

Apollo is, in my opinion, such a diverse and magnificent god that you can learn everything from him. Just don't piss him off, because his bow never misses and it hurts when he shoots an arrow.

Summary: this is a SFW alphabet for Choso Kamo from Jujutsu Kaisen (in the scope of a romantic, non-platonic relationship, but there are some friendship-building details scattered in here).

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show their affection?)

Choso is highly affectionate, but at the beginning especially, he is also adorably awkward. He is very touchy-feely when it comes to you, and he'll take any chance he can get to be as close to you as possible.

Even before you'd started dating, he was always looking to find opportunities to be around you; asking if you'd be attending an event before deciding to go himself, offering to help you with anything that came up - no matter what the task was; anything to just be around you. The first time you gave him a friendly hug, he nearly melted. Even now, deep into the relationship, your touch still makes him melt. No matter what you do, he sees you as the most precious thing that must be protected and cherished at all costs, and he never lets you feel as though this isn't the case.

B = Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Choso is, unsurprisingly, a fierce best friend who will have your back regardless of the situation.

A friendship with Choso tends to be fairly awkward in the beginning. He's quite blunt with what he says, and due to his natural tone and timbre, some people can be put off by him, thinking they're boring him, or getting the impression that he doesn't like them. However, those who see beyond the tone can easily realize he actually wears his heart on his sleeve, and he is very considerate.

Once the two of you are close enough to be considered best friends, you're never not on his mind in some capacity. He's always down to spend time with you, even if it's just to relax and do nothing, he's just happy to exist around you.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Seeing as how his primary love language is physical touch, Choso is the world's biggest cuddler. He loves nothing more than being completely wrapped up in you whenever possible, and his favourite place is nestled up with you with his nose tucked into the crook of your neck where he can hear your heartbeat, feel your breath, and take in the scent of your hair.

When he's not basically wrapped around you like a freakin' python, he loves leaning against you or slinging an arm around your shoulder or waist.

His cuddles are heavy - he puts his entire weight on you. It's like having a sweet, adorable and oddly-muscular weighted blanket with you at all times.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Choso never even knew what 'settling down' meant before he met you, but even before the two of you had gotten involved with each other, he had no desire to pursue any kind of romance. Then, when the two of you 'happened,' he knew that was what he wanted his everyday to look like.

When it comes to his domestic skills, well - to be honest, they could use a little work. He never really bothered with cooking elaborate meals beyond what gave his body fuel before, so he's completely lost in a kitchen. He's willing to try and learn, but it's just never going to be a strong skill for him. Eventually, he'll have a dish or two that he can manage fairly well, but don't expect too much more than that. If you also don't really cook, it's fortunate for both of you that he is always happy with ordering in.

As for cleanliness, he's not a slob by any means, but he's not the tidiest guy. His biggest failing is that he doesn't really put things away when he's done with them; hair ties make their way into weird places, laundry finds itself on the floor beside the hamper, the bed is never really made - he just doesn't really think about these things. However, the moment he sees you start to clean up, he's on his feet and lending a hand without complaint.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Breaking up with you is something Choso would likely never do - once he's bonded to you, it's for life. However, if he did, it would be the most awkward way of doing it. He would basically ghost you. Not in the sense that he would avoid you or run away from you, he would just stop seeking you out, and if you tried to seek him out, he would be unavailable or simply say 'no thank you.'

Mainly because he's still figuring out how to navigate those social norms.

If he saw you with someone else though, even after the relationship had ended, it would make him absolutely furious - regardless of the reason why the relationship ended in the first place.

F = Fiancé (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

If Choso is with you in a romantic capacity, he already sees you as end-game, and the institute of marriage was never something he was familiar with, being a curse and all. At first, he doesn't understand the concept. As far as he's concerned, being with you is as natural as breathing; there is no concept of 'future' where he is not bound to you, mind, body and soul. That being said, he's certainly not resistant to it, but he is curious about the whole concept. He learns more about it through watching movies and asking his new human friends about marriage, weddings, anniversaries, the works.

He spends months, maybe longer, working on putting together a proper proposal for you; agonizing over the details - how he'll do it, what kind of ring would look best on your finger, where he should take you - it takes him so long that you may even beat him to it.

As you'd pull out a ring and offer it to him, his eyes would widen, his cheeks flushed, and he'd let out a muffed groan as he'd hide his face in his hands. Your heart would sink at first, thinking he was about to say no when he'd pull the ring he'd been carrying for the past year or so out of his pocket, presenting to to you.

Both of you were adorably emotional in this moment, and he was even more so on the day of your actual wedding. He didn't think he could love you any more intensely than he had all this time, but he was truly overwhelmed with emotion that day.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Choso is very gentle with you. He's perfectly aware of his strength, and if he did something to hurt you, even accidentally, he'd never forgive himself for it.

You sometimes need to remind him that you're not made of glass, but it's still very endearing nonetheless.

Emotionally, he tries to be tactful, but he's used to simply saying what he needs to say, and sometimes this can come out a little blunt, or sometimes noncommittal. If he realizes he may have said something wrong though, he's always quick to apologize and attempt to clarify.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it and what is it like?)

Choso has come to enjoy hugs in general; he's not shy about hugging his friends, either. He loves to cuddle and hug you at every possible opportunity, but he's particularly clingy when it comes to you. He's especially fond of hugging you from behind and resting his chin on your shoulder.

I = "I Love You" (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Choso said it days after you'd started a romantic relationship, not realizing this was against typical social norms. In his opinion, he thought that if he felt that he loved you, there was no reason not to let it be known.

Now, he says it even more than ever - sometimes out of nowhere when he just feels the need to remind you.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they get jealous?)

Choso is pretty damn jealous, actually. Once he's bonded with you, he doesn't like spending too much time away from you, and he can get jealous when your attention is focused elsewhere. He likes to make sure others are very aware that the two of you 'belong to each other' and he's not above pulling you into a shamelessly passionate kiss if he notices someone eyeing you a little too intensely.

He's also known to leave little bites on your skin in places he knows will be fairly visible, 'for no reason' he says. You get the feeling it's his way of marking his territory.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Choso's kisses were soft and uncertain at first - mainly because he didn't know what he was doing. Once he had enough....practice with you, though, they became bolder and more passionate. His hands are all over you, and he especially loves to lift you up off the ground with his strong hands, cradling your thighs to feel your legs wrap around him. It's his favourite way to kiss you.

As for how he likes to be kissed, he'll take you any way he can get you; but he loves when you wrap your arms around his neck and press your whole body against him as you kiss; he's also a big fan of tongue - maybe even a nibble or two on the lip.

Since Choso is a bit of a biter, he's a sucker for when you nibble on his ears, neck and chest - it drives him crazy in the best possible way, and it never fails to make him let out some...interesting, wonderful noises.

L = Little Ones (How are they around children?)

Choso has a knack with kids. They seem to adore him, and something about him puts them at ease. He's got a nurturing nature when it comes to kids, like the perfect 'big brother' figure.

You'll never forget the time you'd both gotten roped into babysitting your family friends' kids a day and walked into the room to find him fast asleep with a children's book still open on his lap, the kids curled up under each of his arms.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Warm and lazy, without a doubt. He sleeps in more than anyone you'd ever met, and he's a big morning cuddler. If you're a morning person and you're up and about before him, he'll come find you in a half-asleep state and carry you back to bed to wrap himself around you and doze off for another hour.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights with Choso are spent curled up together and doing something low-key; be it watching movies, playing video games, reading, or listening to music together. He tends to stay up late, so you usually fall asleep first. If you're not already in bed, he gently carries you there and snuggles up next to you, just holding you and appreciating the moment until he's finally ready to sleep himself.

O = Open (When will they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or do they reveal little things slowly?)

While Choso tends to be blunt when he speaks, he's not overly chatty - so when he says something, you know he means what he says.

At first, he was fairly quiet around you. He wasn't quite sure how to process what he didn't realize was attraction at the time. He just knew that whenever you were around, his cheeks flushed, his heart raced, and he would always feel saddened when you would leave. He would silently hang on your every word, even if you were just talking in his general vicinity, and in a crowded room, his eyes would always find you.

When he started to realize what was happening he didn't know what to do with himself. The first time the two of you spent one-on-one time together was when you had been intentionally set up by Yuji and Nobara (Megumi insists he had nothing to do with it, but he certainly didn't try to dissuade them, either). Choso realized then just how much he enjoyed spending time with you, and to his surprise, you were far easier to talk to than he had built up in his head.

After that point, he opened up fairly quickly. His usual stoicism was replaced by an easy smile when you were around, he would always seek you out when he wanted advice on something, and he was always curious about your feelings on every little thing.

P = Patience (How easily are they angered?)

That all depends on the subject. His patience with you? Limitless. His patience with kids? Phenomenal. His patience when it comes to waiting for something/someone? Damn near god-tier. However, his patience when it comes to someone who is mistreating you or his friends? Non-existent. It'll send him from zero to sixty faster than you can blink.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every detail or forget the minor things?)

Choso can be a bit absent-minded and distracted. It's not that he doesn't care or doesn't listen - he does. However, sometimes he doesn't retain this super well.

The details about you, such as your favourite food, or you favourite movie - he has a hard time remembering. What he does remember are things like how you smell, or the feeling of your touch. He's found and memorized every scar, freckle and inch of your body, and he knows all the places to touch and kiss that make you melt. He notices the way the air changes around you when you're feeling an intense emotion, and he knows exactly what to do in those moments to support you and make you feel safe.

All in all, he may not know the kind of things that would be on a couple's quiz, but in many ways, he may know you better than you could ever realize. He's not necessarily a listener in the typical sense, but he's more of an 'emotional listener' and he's great at picking up on the things you don't say than the things you do,

R = Remember (What is their favourite moment of your relationship?)

His favourite moments are limitless, but one of his top favourites would be the first time he slept with you (not necessarily in that way - though I'm not saying it didn't happen, either). Curled up with you in his arms, snuggled in close to you against him, hearing your soft breathing (or perhaps snoring), and taking in your unmistakable scent, he could safely say he's never slept better.

And waking up beside you changed the way he looked at mornings. The rare occasions where the two of you don't spend the night with each other is nearly unbearable to him.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

This man would watch the world burn to ashes if it meant keeping you safe. Choso is incredibly protective of you, and if anyone even uttered something akin to a threat with your name on their breath, well - hell hath no fury like Choso.

He'd always position his body between you and any threat that arose, and this includes verbal threats as well. He won't tolerate anyone disrespecting you. As much as he can be a sweetheart, he can flip that switch to 'scary dog privilege' real quick.

T = Try (How much effort do they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

It takes a while for him to get things right - not from a lack of care or trying, but simply because he's only just started learning how to 'be human.' Many habits and customs between humans are fairly foreign to him, but once he gets the hang of things, he's incredibly thoughtful and he throws his whole heart into his efforts.

This man has so much try, and he's always looking for new ways to make you feel safe, cherished, and loved. He's determined to never, ever stop learning.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He can be needy and quite clingy, even possessive at times. He's not so bad as to be considered 'toxic' but he does require a fair amount of reassurance.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

The man is an enigma in this department. On one hand, he tends to be very low-effort in how much he considers what he wears; he has a style or two that he likes, and he tends to keep to the two or three outfits he's comfortable in; that includes his hair.

On the other hand, he always makes sure his hair is clean (even if he'd going for a messier style), he's pretty proud of his body's physical condition, and he's not above throwing on some eyeliner or nail polish to get the vibe he's going for.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He felt bonded to you well before the two of you became romantically involved, and much like how he felt when he lost his brothers, if something were to happen to you, it would certainly shatter a part of him, too.

He was taken aback by this at first - he thought he could feel his brothers' presence leave the mortal plane because of their shared blood, but he distinctly recalls a time you'd had nearly died in a tragic incident, and he felt it like fire in his veins. The bond he'd built with you was powerful; he knew this - but he didn't realize until then just how deep it ran. He was in a frenzied state until he managed to find you, and he refused to leave your side until you managed to stabilize and return to him. He made a promise both to you and to himself that he would never allow you to be so near death again, under any circumstances; because the thought of a lifetime without you is equal parts infuriating and unbearable.

X = X-tra (A random head-canon for them)

He low-key has a fascination with piercings and tattoos, and in time, is very likely to get a few himself. As for where, well - use your imagination. That's all I'm gonna say 👀

And tattoos and piercings on his partner? Oof - that'll have him feeling some sort of way.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

You have to get along with his brothers. You don't all have to be besties, but family is such a core part of his heart that he couldn't tolerate someone who couldn't vibe with those he loves the most.

He also doesn't like people who are overly loud and boisterous. He has no issue with someone who's chatty or talks a lot, but if they're constantly flying off the handle, raising their voice and just generally being a loud-mouth, he'd rather keep his distance and his peace.

Z = Zzz (What are some sleeping habits of theirs?)

For a man who seems perpetually tired, you've noticed Choso looooooves his sleep. He's a bit of a night owl, but he always likes to sleep in until noon, and he loves taking naps throughout the day.

He's a heavy sleeper, yet he's never not at least a little aware of his surroundings, even in sleep. You remember one time, you'd tried to sneak on him when he was zonked out on the couch; when you got within arm's reach, he yanked you down onto the couch with him and snuggled his nose into the crook of your neck.

"Nice try..." He mumbled. Before you could answer, he had already fallen back asleep again.

He's also a very quiet sleeper. No snoring, no tossing or turning; just the soft sound of his deep breaths with the rise and fall of his chest. He's also a big bedtime snuggler, and if you'll let him hold you all throughout the night, he's happy as can be.

Absolutely! I've got two separate answers for you, depending on what your goal is here.

If your main goal is just to analyse Homestuck, then you’re probably best off picking a language whose syntax is easy to understand, such as Python. You'll pick up on the basic logic pretty quickly, and the ~ATH snippets will start to make a lot more sense.

If you’re actually interested in programming for its own sake, then I recommend you start with my own first language, C. It’s a lot harder for a newbie to get to grips with, but doing so will give you a much more solid theoretical foundation then ostensibly ‘easier’ languages.

W3schools is a decent starting resource for both languages - but if you need more specific guidance, let me know, and I'd be happy to help!

That certainly makes sense if we just look at John - but I have trouble reconciling this interpretation with our other Heir. Equius certainly has some advantages, but they aren't exactly unique to him, as you'd expect them to be if his Heir class was responsible for them.

Yes, he's a highblood, but he's outranked by three non-Heirs - and his strength doesn't seem to be unique either, as Feferi seems capable of similar feats. Perhaps Equius will trip and fall into more unique privilege, but it hasn't happened yet.

Slick has had ties to Blood since he first met Karkat, so that tracks - and Boxcars is a shipper, so Nepeta's aspect is probably the best fit for now. I'm not sure about the other two, but I'll revisit them later!

Python / パイソン and Forsyth / フォルス

Python (JP: パイソン; rōmaji: paison) is a wise-cracking and apathetic member of the Deliverance in Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Most of you likely know that a python is a type of snake; specifically, the Python genus belongs to the Pythonidae family, consisting of nonvenomous serpents.

Before the name was carried by this subset of snake, the name was attributed to the mythical Python (also called ピュートーン; rōmaji: pyūtōn), enemy of the Greek solar god Apollo. Typically depicted as a great serpent, Python resided at Pytho (later called Delphi), thought to be the center of the world. The story goes (according to Hyginus, at least) that after the goddess Hera learned that her husband Zeus had an affair with Leto, the enraged queen of Olympus sent Python after Leto to prevent the birth of the twins she carried—Artemis and Apollo. Leto found a reprieve, thanks to Poseidon, on the island of Delos and gave birth; not four days after, Apollo would pick up the bow and arrow and sought out Python. Alternatively, some versions tell of Leto and her children leaving Delos for Delphi, only to be attacked by Python once more. All adaptations end the same, however: Apollo brings an end to the serpent by arrows, and Delphi and its oracle would then belong to the sun god. Most likely, the Python in Fire Emblem being an archer was inspired by the mythological beast's slayer.

Forsyth is a straight-laced and passionate member of the Deliverance and Python's best friend. The name Forsyth is Scottish in origin, and has been carried by many notable people. Possible figures that could tie into the character's scholarly background include Scottish theologian P. T. Forsyth and founder of the Royal Horticultural Society and namesake of the forsythia plant—William Forsyth. Also worth noting is the English military journalist and writer Frederick Forsyth and the historic Clan Forsyth of Scotland.

In Japanese, Forsyth is instead called フォルス (rōmaji: forusu), officially romanized as Fols. In Greek mythology, Pholus (JP: フォルス), also called Pholos (JP: ポロス; rōmaji: porosu), was one of the two wise and sophisticated centaurs alongside the more famous Chiron. He appears in the story of Heracles: after the hero captured the Erymanthian Boar, Heracles was offered hospitality in Pholus' cave as he passed through the area. However, when a container of wine was opened, the smell disturbed the wild centaurs in the area, sparking aggression. Heracles would them off with arrows coated in the blood of the Lernaean Hydra, which was capable of inflicting instant death. Pholus, the coward that he was, fled from the battle, but in his curiosity, took to examining a loose arrow, only to drop it on his foot. The gods showed him mercy and placed Pholus in the stars as the constellation Centaurus. (Note that it is common for versions to instead claim Chiron was the one killed by one of Heracles' arrows and made into a constellation).

Lastly, I feel it must be mentioned that there is a very real possibility that these two characters may be named after two programming languages. Python (JP: パイソン) saw its first release in February of 1991,in the middle of Fire Emblem Gaiden's development. Unfortunately, I have no idea how quick Python caught on in the beginning—even less how known it was in Japan in its first year—which is why I feel the Greek inspirations are more likely. That said, Forth (JP: フォース; rōmaji: fōsu) was another programming language made public in the 70's and became very popular in the 80's. Though the katakana used is different, フォルス can still be read as "fo[u]rth," and could potentially have been a stylistic choice.

If you are going to make a game here’s some things that might be helpful!

Game engines:

Godot: very new dev friendly and it’s free. Has its own programming language (GDscript) but also supports C#. It’s best for 2D games but it can do 3D also.

Unity: I don’t even know if I should be recommending Unity. It has caused me much pain and the suffering. But Unity has an incredible amount of guides and tutorials. And once you get the hang of something it’s hard to get caught on the same thing again. It also has a great Visual Studio integration and uses C#. I will warn you the unity animator is where all dreams go to die. It’s a tedious process but you can probably get some plugins to help with that.

Unreal: Don’t use it unless you’re building a very large or very detailed 3D game. It also uses C++ which is hell.

Renpy: Made for visual novels but has support for small mini games. It only supports Python iirc. Basically if you’re making a VN it’s renpy all the way otherwise you should look elsewhere.

What to learn: Game design and how to act as your own game designer. As a designer you need to know if a part of your game isn’t meshing with the rest of it and be willing to give up that part if needed. Also sound design is very important as well. If you want to make your own sounds audacity is perfect for recording and cutting up your clips. If you want to find sound effects I recommend freesound.org and the YouTube royalty free music database.

Sadly I can’t recommend a lot of places to learn this stuff because I’m taking Game Development in Uni. So most of my info comes from my lectures and stuff. One of my game design textbooks is pretty good but it’s around $40 CAD. It’s called the game designers playbook by Samantha Stahlke and Pejman Mirza-Babaei if you’re interested (fun fact there’s a photo of Toriel in there)

please do not apologize I'd never heard half of this stuff so this is super useful!! I've seen some godot tutorials on YouTube although so far I've played around with RPG maker MV (it was on sale. very very fiddly interface, i had trouble getting around it) and gamemaker, which recently became free for non-commercial use (a lot more approachable on first impact but like i said, haven't really done anything substantial in either yet).

mostly, I'm still in the super vague stage. I've got an idea for the main story conflict, the protagonist and their foil, the general aesthetic i want to go for (likely 2D graphics, but it would be cool to make like. small cutscenes in low-poly 3D) but not much else. haven't exactly decided on the gameplay either! it's gonna necessarily be rpg-esque, but I'm not much of a fan of classic turn-based combat so. I'm gonna check out other games and see if i can frankenstein anything cooler :P

Outside, the world feels too big, too bright, too... everything. There’s a name for it, something you stumbled on during one of your deep dives: hikikomori. It’s a word from another culture, but it fits. You haven’t been out much lately—not even to the grocery store with your dad, who used to bribe you with snacks and music in the car. Your room has become both a sanctuary and a hiding place. A place where you can learn, code, escape.

You hear the creak of the hallway floorboards. It’s subtle, but distinct. Familiar. You pause, hands hovering above your keyboard. The footsteps are hesitant, like someone trying not to wake you even though the light under your door gives you away. There’s a soft knock.

“Kid?” Frankie’s voice is gentle, low. A little unsure. “You still up?”

You hesitate. Part of you wants to pretend you’re asleep. But the bigger part of you—still tethered to who you used to be—wants to hear him out.

“Yeah,” you call back. “I’m up.”

The door opens slowly. Frankie Morales, your dad, steps inside. He’s still in the clothes he wore all day: soft, worn jeans and a grey hoodie you stole from him once and never gave back. His cap’s off, his curls a little wild. There’s tiredness in his eyes, but something else, too. Concern.

He looks around the room as if seeing it for the first time, though you know he’s peeked in before. It’s messy—organized chaos, you’d argue. Books piled in corners. Sticky notes on the walls. A printout of Python syntax taped to your closet door.

“You working on a new project?” he asks, stepping carefully over a tangle of charging cords.

You nod. “Just messing around with some encryption stuff.”

Frankie raises his brows. “Encryption?”

“Like... security,” you explain. “How to protect systems. Or break them.” You glance at him, gauging his reaction.

He chuckles softly. “Jesus. You’re gonna end up in jail or working for the FBI.”

You smile, just a little. “Hopefully the second one.”

He sits on the edge of your bed, careful not to mess with the blanket cocoon you’ve built around yourself. For a moment, it’s quiet, just the two of you breathing in the same space.

“You used to crawl into my lap at this time of night,” he says, his voice rough around the edges. “We’d watch cartoons, or you’d beg me to read that dinosaur book for the fiftieth time.”

You pick at the edge of your sleeve. “That was a long time ago.”

“I know.” He pauses. “I miss it.”

There’s a lump forming in your throat. You look away.

“I miss the way you used to come find me,” he continues. “For hugs. For snacks. For dumb jokes.”

You finally glance at him. He’s smiling, but it’s a sad one. “You were always so clingy. My little shadow.”

“I’m not that kid anymore.”

“I know,” he repeats, softer now. “But I’m still your dad.”

You sigh. “It’s not that I don’t want to hang out. It’s just... I don’t know. The world feels loud. And I don’t always know what to say to people. It’s easier in here. Things make sense in here.” You gesture at your laptop.

Frankie leans back a bit, resting his arms on his knees. “I get that. I do. Hell, sometimes I wish I could hide in my room too.”

You smirk. “You’d last like ten minutes before getting bored.”

“Maybe,” he says, grinning. “But I’d bring snacks. And maybe a book.”

You look at him, really look at him. His eyes are kind, always have been. Even when he’s exhausted. Even when he’s clearly in over his head.

“I’m trying,” you say, barely a whisper.

“I know you are,” he replies immediately. “And so am I. Trying to figure out how to be your dad now that you’re not eight anymore.”

You nod, the lump in your throat swelling again.

“I never wanted to push you away,” you say.

“I know that too.” He smiles gently. “I’m just glad you’re letting me in right now.”

There’s a long pause. The air feels warmer.

“Wanna come watch a movie with me?” he offers. “No pressure. Just... if you want.”

You glance at your screen, then back at him. “Only if I get to pick.”

“Deal,” he says quickly, as if afraid you’ll change your mind.

You climb out of bed, slowly. Awkwardly. Frankie stands up too, and for a moment, there’s an almost-silence between you. Then, without thinking too hard about it, you step forward and wrap your arms around his middle.

He goes still in surprise, then wraps his arms around you tight.

“You still give the best hugs,” he murmurs into your hair.

You cling to him a second longer, then pull back, wiping at your eye.

“Okay,” you say, grabbing your laptop. “Let’s go watch something terrible.”

“Perfect,” Frankie says, smiling. “I love terrible movies.”

As the two of you walk toward the living room, you realize something important: you’re still his kid. Even if the world feels too loud. Even if you don’t talk much. Even if you’ve changed.

And he’s still your dad. And he’s not going anywhere.

The living room feels too open at first, the air too wide, the lights too bright. But Frankie turns them down without a word, grabbing a throw blanket off the back of the couch and tossing it over you like muscle memory. He’s already queuing up your favourite comfort movie, the one you’ve seen too many times but always makes you laugh.

He doesn’t ask questions. Doesn’t comment on the pyjamas you’re still wearing or the hoodie you haven’t changed out of in days. He just grabs the remote, opens a bag of chips, and settles in beside you like this is the most normal thing in the world.

When the movie starts, you don’t lean into him at first—but he’s there. Solid. Warm. And halfway through, when your head starts to droop from the emotional exhaustion, you rest it against his shoulder, and he doesn’t move a muscle.

Just lets you be.

Just lets you breathe.

You’re not fixed. But you’re here.

And for now, that’s enough.

Hiya! It's true I'm kinda obsessed over Athena, Artemis, and Persephone - or the sister trio ❤️

I did indeed talk about Athena and Persephone being protective over Artemis before, but I wouldn't mind talking about them more!

Artemis is the youngest and shortest of the trio, so Athena and Persephone naturally have the sisterly urge to baby her :)))) Athena might not show it out but the big sis instinct is there in her.

When mama Leto and the twins were living being chased everywhere by the Python, it was Demeter who took them under her protection when they reached Sicily. That's how baby Artemis came to live with teenage Persephone and be free from danger for the first time since she was born.

Artemis is Persephone's first official sister (she wasn't very close to Eileithyia and Enyo at the time because they live far in Olympus), so Persephone was really excited. She doted on Artemis, giving her the best fruits and play with her all the time. Artemis loves her big sister a lot!

Since Artemis is the older twin, she always put on a brave face and be the trusting shoulder for her brother, Apollo. But she was still a kid and had fears of her own. Aside from Leto, Persephone is the one she came to the most to seek comfort.

Persephone has her mother's sheltering nature, so she is willing to spend hours just staying by Artemis' side. They don't have to talk every time, just simply sitting next to each other and rest.

Before Artemis became an official Olympian, she was still ostracized by mean people for being a bastard child of Zeus. Persephone DID NOT let anyone who disrespected her sister crawl out alive.

This one is true myth: one time, Persephone dragged a living woman to the Underworld because she ceased to worship Artemis.

Yeah, Persephone took her protective sister role very seriously.

Athena joined them rather late. Even though Athena was "born" from Zeus later than Artemis and Persephone, she is still the oldest by chronology because she was conceived by Zeus and his first wife Metis.

At first, Athena was cold, distant, and quite self-centered, only willing to do things to Zeus' favor and enhance her reputation. She's not fundamentally bad, it's just engraved into her core to always strive to be the best and she hadn't been connecting with others yet to learn sympathy.

Artemis and Persephone are the first siblings Athena truly connects with, during the time she was staying in Sicily.

Athena disapproves of Artemis' reckless tendency, sometimes gets annoyed at her like the typical oldest sister to her youngest.

Overtime, Athena softened and began to willingly help Artemis whenever she got into troubles (after giving her some scolding)

One time, Athena was teaching Persephone and Artemis weaving robes for their father (inspired by true myth), but Artemis failed miserably. So Athena made a robe in her place so she have something to present to Zeus.

Athena and Persephone were highly alerted when Orion came around due to his nasty reputation. They would follow Artemis everywhere to make sure she is never alone with him.

When Orion was being inappropriate with one of Artemis' nymphs, Athena and Persephone (and Apollo too) rushed to defend her. But upon arriving, Artemis already shot down the guy, only sparing him because she didn't want hassle with Poseidon.

The three of them continue to stay by her side from that day in case Orion ever return for revenge.

When Orion died from his own hubris and the scorpion's sting, Persephone and Apollo suggested to turn him into a constellation and be forever chased by the giant scorpion as punishment.

Athena tried not to fight Artemis during the Trojan war. When Artemis challenged Hera and got beaten, Athena quietly scolded her for her insolence but still went to check up on Artemis.

Athena also went to Hera asking her not to mind Artemis too much and just ignore her (so that Hera won't beat up Artemis again)

Sooooooooooooo...... I've been reading too many of those time travel/regression manhwas, so here's an idea of an AU that I've been daydreaming about :P Basically:

Apollo died in the future by the hands of Zeus’s paranoia.

Apollo woke up in his younger body, after the defeat of Python.

Determined to survive and rewrite his future fate, he decided to cut ties early with Olympus. At the time, he could only think of one place where no other gods would go, The Underworld.

Secretly, he traveled there and confronted a hooded man, who revealed himself as Hades.

To Hades surprised, Apollo demanded that he take him in.

From here its basically follows the usual manhwa trope.

Hades slowly learns to raise Apollo while also teaching him responsibilities of a god.

While Apollo is trying to get away from the attention of Olympus.

He did eventually told Leto about his plan. He explained that he saw a prophecy (since it's easier to explain) and he wished to change it.

While Leto was distraught by him leaving, she did understand that it was the best option. Both of them agreed that it is best to not tell Artemis and let her believe that her twin had disappeared (since I HC that she's rasher when she was young, but matured when she was older).

How the rest of the story will go... idk, but I'll come up with something as time goes on ^^;

Calanthe is a surviving basilisk adopted by Hunter and Willow in my WIP NextGen AU! Here's some quick information before I delve into that whole backstory: Name: Calanthe Species: Basilisk Pronouns: He/her Age: Roughly 14-16 Tracks: Potions and Plants primarily She was accidentally uncovered when Darius led a search party to clear out the old Emperor's Coven laboratory in search of lost information that they could record (with Hunter as a guide, since he knew where the labs were, and the basilisks were too afraid to go anywhere near the area). To everyone's surprise, Belos incubated another batch of basilisks after the first ones had escaped, but died before they could hatch. In the incubation process, without the proper care they needed, all other eggs died except for one: Calanthe. Hunter was the first to discover Calanthe, after being hit with intense memories of the lab and hallucinating. At least he thought he was hallucinating when a vision of himself appeared, turns out it was a basilisk moulding into his form. When he realised this was a physical being, he freaked out at first. Then he saw the black-rimmed blue eyes. The basilisk had imprinted on him, taking on his form as they may typically do as babies. It turned back into a small yellow python-patterned basilisk with blue eyes and light brown hair, to which Hunter and the group had taken it to the Healing Coven for inspection, and later Hunter and Willow had adopted the basilisk since 1. no one else could, and 2. it had already imprinted on them. In this AU, alongside primarily being a palisman carver, Hunter secondarily works with Darius to protect the Boiling Isles' children, creating better safety laws for all and putting more protection in place for the young ones. At the time he discovered and adopted Calanthe, Hunter would've probably been around 25 and was taking part as a student in a school that retaught important life lessons to those who didn't get to learn them. After finishing up with these classes, he transitioned to parenting schools in order to do his best for Calanthe. Willow is living the dream of leading the Emerald Entrails into constant victories, and reassures Hunter that he doesn't need to go to these schools, but he insists, as he absolutely despises the idea of becoming similar to Belos in any way. -Which Willow is actually quite proud of and inspired by.

Thanks to Willow and Hunter, Calanthe gets to live a perfectly normal and happy life, being able to embrace his basilisk side while being treated with the same love and normalcy that every child deserves. Calanthe has changed her appearance many times throughout her life, and still does till this very day, switching it up every now and then when she gets bored. Her primary/favourite appearance is taking inspiration from Willow's fringe, Hunter's face, and a mix between both of their body shapes. This is still a heavy WIP! However, some characters I am planning to add are: Luz + Amity's kids Boscha's child, possibly nonverbal Adrien Graye's neglected/forgotten daughter A Grudgby Team + Captain + Giving IV (now called Ivy) and III (now called Trip) more development and depth (the two basilisks seen in Watching and Dreaming) + King getting a MASSIVE growthspurt There will still be much more to come, once the ideas finally start to pop into my head. Hope this clears up some things! I'm happy you like her design, though it is still a WIP, such as everything else. I am still working on my Cinderkin AU too, in which I might make a 3rd AU combining these two for funsies at some point. It'd be sick to design Calanthe with Cinderkin features! :D

Rosetta McBest

Absolutely terrible person (derogatory). Just the worst (affectionate). Best of my designs. One of the villains and a very real one at that (I really love making WK villains who are stand-ins for real issues). Rosetta here is an influencer who loves taking pictures with animals and posting them on social media.

Rosetta acts sweet and bubbly on the outside, saying that she "totally looooves animals," but is secretly very self-absorbed and egocentric, not actually caring about animals as much as she pretends to. She sees everything and everyone as potential content and a way to make money. Peak slightly annoying influencer, but not even in an overly stereotypical way. More based on actual problematic influencers and their legitimately toxic and messed up behavior. The ones who act like they care and think they are so charming and silly and likable when it typically comes across as annoying.

She can occasionally come across as charming, especially when she is being a bit more genuine due to excitement. During these moments, she acts very energetic and legitimately bubbly in a authentic way that doesn't come across as performative. She is also very flamboyant. Not quite as much as Donita, but more in a "how to make an entrance/hype something up kind of way. She is a diva of sorts at the end of the day, and it shows in a way that can be silly and goofy. However, when it comes to episodes where she is the main villain, Rosetta is usually very infuriating due to her actions and how much long-term issues they can cause.

She is peak wildlife tourist. If she watched "Tiger King", she would immediately go to a cub petting zoo and take five million pics with it knowing damn well about the truth behind the industry. Rosetta doesn't care. She occasionally engages in performative activism, saying she cares about nature, but then actively and knowingly engaging in harmful practices solely for her own entertainment. Because to her, everything is for her own entertainment. She acts like the world evolves around her, and not even in an unaware way, but in a way that is almost malicious, as though she doesn't even think of the needs of others.

I think her debut episode would be about her trying to steal a coatis to keep it as a pet, while making it extremely obvious she doesn't know anything about them and isn't qualified. She might even try to buy from the illegal pet trade.

At first, the bros may think she actually does care, but by the end of her first episode, they realize that she legit does not care in the slightest. She then becomes one of the antagonists of the series, though she doesn't appear super often. But when she does, she tends to cause a lot of problems, sometimes without even fully realizing it, but in the most obnoxious way ever.

Things she does:

Try to collect animals she has no idea how to care for just because she thought they looked cute and wanted the attention

Gets a bunch of Burmese python, gets tired of them after a short period, and decides to dump them in the Florida everglades (learned about this issue from fishinggarrett)

Might literally go to a cub petting zoo or something similar

Occasionally appears in episodes with Donita to buy clothes from her and whatnot

Disrupts fragile ecosystems by trespassing entering previously undisturbed habitats. All for the sake of some selfies so she can get likes. Honestly probably does stuff like that a lot (trespassing so she can take selfies in places she shouldn't go, thus disturbing the wildlife)

Climbs Mount Everest and litters a lot (not her worst crime and won't be super villainized since most people who do this aren't fully aware of the issue, but will definitely talk about this particular problem)

I'll think of more stuff later.

Basically, just imagine that influencer who apparently likes animals and nature but does the most problematic and harmful things possible. That is Rosetta in a nutshell.
