Just because I think the idea of it is absolutely hilarious, I've decided as of like 30 seconds ago that Josh's guilty pleasure game is the sims. Do I know what he does with those sims? Absolutely not! Maybe he goes full horror or soap opera, or maybe he just plays the most vanilla game ever. I literally have no idea, I'm just extremely amused with the idea that this is a game he has poured like *thousands* of hours into and doesn't want a single person to know of that fact fhdjdksjdhd
Anyways, do with this knowledge what you will. I just wanted to share it lol.
"One time," she said with her head on her hand, her words coming out smooshed thanks to how her fingers pressed against her cheek, "just one time, I wish your answer to 'Hey, fucko, whatcha up to?' was something normal, like...'I dunno, sis, doing the dishes,' or 'Finishing up some homework, shut up.'"
Josh turned from the monitor just as the room full of houseplants caught fire; it cast a lovely orange glow on his face. "The day I do the dishes is the day you know the government has realized I'm too great a threat to the safety of this great country of ours, and they've replaced me with a clone. Now just admit you're pissed that your Sim was the first to die in this round of Survivor and get over it."
Pretending that wasn't it at all, that she didn't care who did or didn't die in the house full of booby traps (or that her character had met their end in the most shameful of ways, burning mac and cheese and setting all the nearby kitchen ferns alight), Beth scooted her chair a few inches closer to the desk, nudging Josh's arm away with her elbow until she had room enough to get comfortable next to him. "Ten bucks says Hannah ends up stuck in the pool."

Quick and short edit of the day! ^^
Because it's the 7th anniversary of Until Dawn!
Even though I personally have only known the game for a few years, my obsession is not about to stop! ^^ (My family and friends are so tired of hearing about it...) Because this video game is my safe place. ♡
And just because I can, my ranking of the playable characters of Until dawn :
Ash and Josh (Don’t ask me to choose... I've already done it several times and I don't like it at all...)
Chris
Matt
Emily
Mike
Sam
Jess
Don't worry, despite the position of some of them in the ranking I love them all! ♡ And Beth, Hannah, Jack and Dr.Hill are not ranked because I can't really judge them. And besides we all know very well that the best character in the game is Wolfie.

*comes up behind Phineas and shyly gives him a hug*
(@ask-idv-baker-and-embalmer
Phineas was at first stunned with the sudden hug from behind and thought it was the Killer or his helpers trying to attack and turn around immediately to see yet instead he was shocked to see Beth before him giving him a warm hug with her shy face looking at him with a smile.
He known she had been saved but didn’t go to see her for two reasons 1- he felt guilty that he couldn’t protect her or even save her in time 2- he was way too busy with this whole killer thing to even go meet anyone or take a break.
But seeing her now before him…. He couldn’t control himself anymore and immediately hug her back and closer to him with a big smile draw on his face of happiness and relief that it almost blinded despite how his form change to have almost all black to his appearance.

“BETH!!!! OH MY SWEET LITTLE CUTE CUPCAKE ANGEL BETH IS BACK!! GOD I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE SAVE AND SOUND AND FINALLY RETUNED TO US!!!”
He then put his hands on her cheeks to check on her and admire her face that he kissed so much.
“Did they hurt you in anyway?! Oh Beth… I am so sorry I allowed such thing to happen to you… I-I couldn’t even find you myself no matter how I looked everywhere and placed my eyes all over the place. I am so sorry Beth!!”

@soapfcrce {{a not so wee hug}}
His voice envelopes her before his arms do. The world spins around them and uniforms become a kaleidoscope blur as her eyes squeeze half short, crinkling at the corners when she smiles with genuine warmth and happiness, a salt sprinkle of relief, and everything that is soft in the world. Little spindly arms encircle him back more like ivy-vines. "I know," she says, a little breathlessly. This is what Beth was literally built-for. Homecomings. Being the person straining at the platform as the bus or train pulls away so she can give one more wave, one more blown kiss, before you say goodbye. When she was very little, before she realised the man loathed her to the core of her being, she would do it for the Admiral who looked like some kind of god in his whites on the deck of his ship. She'd done it for Andy each and every time her brother'd left her behind, and she never missed being there to pick him up. His two best girls, a sister that loved him, and the car he rebuilt piece by piece. It might even still be expected of her to some day have a husband of her own who lived his life in uniform. But in between? She's more than happy to be Soap's faithful welcome wagon. To bring his unit home baked treats. Organising letters and care packages. Watering whatever plant he might have left behind. She still has stars in her eyes and almost glows when he excuses himself and she shakes her head. "Of course, go-on wi' you, den." A phrase picked up from his vocabulary even if the accent is different. She watches him return to his pack.

THE LAST SURVIVORS: THE DEAD AND THE GONE (Book 2) Review
The Dead and the Gone
By Susan Beth Pfeffer
So far, The Dead and the Gone is my favorite of the Life as We Knew It series. It was marketed as a companion book, but I feel it surpasses the original story Pfeffer wrote. Remember when I compared Life as We Knew It to Cormac McCarthy’s The Road? I take it back; this book is much more similar—but still for a younger audience.
The Dead and the Gone features the same premise as Life as We Knew It, but there are some big changes that have a powerful pull: the setting is New York City, a place which suffers immediate, direct, and deadly consequences after the moon disaster. Your narrator is still a teenager—Alex, a boy this time. However, he suddenly finds himself alone with two younger sisters to care for. Alex is constantly pitted against morality versus survival. What is he willing to do to survive in a city ravaged by tragedy with no help coming? The stakes in The Dead and the Gone are much, much higher.
Religion comes back full force in The Dead and the Gone. This time, it’s devout Catholicism. It fits into the story pretty well as Alex and his family are all of Puerto Rican descent. (The majority of Puerto Rico identifies as Catholic.) While religion of any type isn’t necessary to wrestle with morality, I do think Catholicism was a good choice to frame the story from. The three characters we see the most in The Dead and the Gone are each Catholic, but one is extremely devout, one is somewhere in the middle, and one struggles with their faith. (You can find out who’s who if you read the book!) The good framework comes from the dependencies and concessions Alex is shown to have with the church, confession, and education. Science versus religion isn’t really a problem in this book.
There are, of course, some plot points that I wish had been better formed. One point was why Alex didn’t break into more homes—because he does enter other people’s deserted homes to search for food, blankets, and items to trade. After months, Alex knows with something very close to certainty that he and his sisters are alone in their apartment building. Yes, yes, stealing is wrong, and that does come up, but possible starvation should overrule the fear of being found out when 90% of New York City has already been looted for the food sources it may be hiding.
Another was the fact a few schools stayed open under the pretense of education when it was really to feed the few kids left some lunch. I’m not saying this was a bad thing, but in a major United States city that’s been flooded, has no power, and millions of people living in it with no food trucks coming in and a single, weekly government handout that is unreliable and dangerous to be in line for—how do these two little schools find the resources to feed twenty or so kids lunch every day for months? Are adults starving so the children can eat? I’d believe it, but the answer the book gives us was no less than an unsatisfactory, “The church provides” or “God provides.” Annoying explanation, to be frank. Not actually an explanation at all.
That said, The Dead and the Gone still functions as a great book. It’s heart-wrenching, and can be scary, and, fantastical apocalypse aside, quite realistic in its portrayal of a broken humanity.
There’s two more books in this series, and I’m very curious about where Pfeffer plans to go next. Personally, I’m hoping for a continuation of events as the first two books quite thoroughly covered the immediate consequences of the moon disaster. Fingers crossed! Next up: This World We Live In.
