Well here goes…

I’m holding my first ever art contest!!

For anyone who is interested in entering, here is my OC that I’d like to be drawn

Their name is Cinnamon Cola! They’re non binary, asexual, both a nerd and an emo!

To enter, you draw this character in any style, any scenery, any way you want as LONG as it’s appropriate!

First place winner will get $50 USD via PayPal

Second place gets $30 USD

Third place gets $20 USD

You can submit vía DM, asks, tagging, but you may DM me for another way to send a submission

Deadline for submitting is March 15 and the winners are announced March 17

I’ll be judging based on the following

- Visual appeal (Don’t be submitting scribbles just to be funny)

-Effort (I love simple art, I do it all the time, but I’ll most likely choose a piece that clearly has more effort put into it)

-Creativity (If they’re just standing there, it will make me depressed, have fun with it!)

-Related to cannon??? (If you take the time to look through my blog and actually learn more about the character and you create a piece that actually relates to the character, that’s bonus points! Of course, it’s not a huge factor.)

- The contest will not be based on likes. I don’t care if your piece has a billion likes. If there’s one that is better, I will choose that one

-New people are welcome! It’s not just open to only mutuals

-If I don’t choose you, please don’t harass me. Hear y you agree that if you enter, you trust the judgment of a 16 year old.

-You may create multiple entries, but please don’t spam me the same piece just to get more attention.

How would the MK1 Earthrealmer Boys react when all of you go out for a friendly dinner at Madam Bo's and you, a lovely female team mate, pick up the bill happily before any argument and avoiding the bill banter ensues between the boys?

Liu Kang

He accepts your gesture with gratitude. Why should a god have to pay? He shouldn't have to. He already does so much to protect Earthrealm.

"It's always an honour, Lord Liu Kang," you said, bowing with hands clasped in front of you.

He does not care that you are a woman, he only cares about your good qualities. If you want to be generous and kind to your friends, that is your right and choice.

Raiden

He's momentarily surprised that you got up and confidently took the bill and added a stack of cash on top before handing it back to Madam Bo with a wink, which was your way of communicating that you've tipped.

"Y/N, you didn't have to do that!" he said, that he feels bad is evident in his voice.

"Don't worry about it! You've treated us before, so it's my turn," you said smiling.

"Besides, I may not be a Lay Buddhist, but it is good karma," you gestured towards both him and Kung Lao, "And we're friends."

"Well, if you put it that way," Raiden began humbly, smiling, "we gratefully accept, even though we're not monks yet."

"Plus, I'm honored to be in the presence of the Shaolin's next master!"

Raiden blushed, "You're embarassing me!" He said modestly.

Kung Lao

Kung Lao belched appreciatively, patting his belly, praising the good hearty meal. Then the usual banter ensued between the boys on who's paying the bill when brought to your table. You, without hesitation, paid the bill confidently. Done.

He didn't spot your actions but the others did and the bantering immediately changed to protests and expressions of feeling bad that you got to it first. Kung Lao then realized what happened and joined in with the boys.

He's trying to save face but was internally happy and grateful that he didn't have to pay the hefty bill. He certainly had a big metabolism and he knew that he required more food. *burp* *pat, pat* :D

You waved a hand dismissively, "You guys treat me all the time, it's my turn. Besides, I may not be a Lay Buddhist, but it is good karma," you gestured towards both him and Raiden, "And we're friends."

"Well, then!" Exclaimed Kung Lao with a wide grin, hands held outwards, "I am glad to be the bestower of good karma! I'm more than happy to oblige you next time!" Raiden hit him on the chest playfully with the back of his hand, "I'm joking. But, thank you, Y/N! This next smiling Buddha's indeed happy!"

Johnny Cage

He's impressed with your boldness and is beaming from ear to ear.

"Whoa! I'm getting the royal treatment!" The actor complimented in his own joking way.

Since both of you are Westerners, it is not unheard of for women to take up the bill and treat others. In fact it is welcomed in many cases.

"Absolutely," you said brightly, "Anything for all of you...within reason!" You jokingly gave a motherly warning gaze, holding a finger up.

Johnny laughed, "Aww, I was gonna order champagne, a couple of lobsters and some caviar!"

"Next time, for sure," you said, smiling.

"Nah, I'll get it next time. My treat," Johnny replied happily opening his arms up to hug you, which you returned, "Thank you, Y/N."

"It's an honour to be in the presence of Ninja Mime!"

Kenshi

Kenshi was more reserved and not much of a talker. It was hard to read him at times, as he is expression was poker faced most of the time. But when he speaks, the words are sincere.

Once you paid the bill, there was a quiet reaction where he smiled and nodded in your direction. Unlike the rest of the boys, he was polite and formal.

"Thank you, Y/N."

Sub Zero (Bi Han)

He had his usual scowl on his face. As you all stood up to leave, he approached you.

"A woman never pays." He said as if he had the last word in a dignified way.

Hiding your confusion, you replied, "I wanted to."

His face subtly crinkles before walking away. Kuai Liang looked back at you apologetically.

You can make out parts of their conversation as they were leaving Madam Bo's.

"Women these days! It is a man's job to take care of women!" Bi Han grumbled.

"Times have changed, brother."

"And who does she think she is by saying, "I want to"? She means defiance!"

"You misunderstood her words, brother."

The grumbling faded away as the brother exited Madam Bo's.

At least you now know that the traditional Lin Kuei Grandmaster cares about women underneath that cold exterior.

Scorpion (Kuai Liang)

Unlike his brother, Kuai Liang was diplomatic. He was also like Kenshi, where words of gratitude are sincere behind a solemn tone.

Kuai Liang returned after the above conversation with his brother, who was now waiting outside of the restaurant.

"Y/N," he began, "I apologize for that."

You waved a hand, smiling, "Don't worry about that. I was happy to share."

"While some of us have accepted that times have changed, others have not," he explained, "My brother is grateful, but he often allows his ego to express this for him in...straightforward ways."

"You don't have to explain anything, I understand," you said, holding a hand up, "I know he is grateful."

"We appreciate the kind gesture," Kuai Liang said sincerely, "It was a wonderful meal."

"You're welcome," you responded, bowing your head respectfully.

Smoke (Tomas Vrbada)

He felt bad that you paid. Even though you were happy to.

Kind, empathetic and sensitive, he felt that he should have been the one to step up and paid the bill. He wanted to take care of his family and friends. When you beat him to the punch, he was internally kicking himself in the head.

"You look like I just did something hurtful to you," you said, looking concerned, "Are you ok?"

He sighed, "Yes, I am. I feel bad though. I should have been the one to pay."

"You're welcome," you joked, "Don't worry about it!"

"I know, I know," he began apologetically, "I really appreciate you doing that for us. I would have liked to take care of all of you."

"Oh, you're fine," you reassured, "You take care of all of us enough, and more. So typical of you and your star sign."

He paused, "Wait, what? How do you know what my star sign is?" He eyed you suspiciously.

You waved your hand in the air nonchalantly, "Oh, I might have overheard a person or two greet you happy birthday a month ago."

"But...I've never told anyone my birthday!"

"Someone found out," you said, "Happy belated birthday! I hope you enjoyed the dinner! Ha ha ha!!"

Before he could say anything, you left the restaurant cackling.

I hope Courtney knows that she doesn't have to pretend to be part of the lgbt community to be interesting. She's never had any relationships with any girls and most of the people she's dated and were attracted with are men. I think she was so desperate to be as interesting as Damien, Shayne, and Ian that she decided to adopt being queer as her "thing"

this kind of biphobia (although 'bisexual' isn't the official term courtney uses to label herself, biphobia is the most fitting descriptor here and so i'll be using that throughout) in my ask box is disappointing and disheartening. it is not courtney's job to be in (what is perceived as) a same-sex relationship to be queer. they don't have to be in such a relationship to get your approval, or to prove herself as a "real" lgbt person. some bi/pan/queer people will never have same-sex relationships. just like some will never have straight relationships, and some will never have any relationships at all. that doesn't mean the attraction isn't real or isn't there. no matter what their relationship status is, that attraction doesn't fade. she will continue to be attracted to women and to be queer their entire life. liking more than one gender is valid. being queer is valid. courtney's feelings, although they're none of our fucking business even if she's been gracious enough to share them with us, are valid. just because they're in a 'heterosexual' relationship right now doesn't mean she stops being queer - not to mention, it isn't a heterosexual relationship, it's inherently a queer relationship because they are in it. they're nonbinary and lgbt. any relationship they're in will be a queer one.

i'm just honestly... so affronted and disgusted by this whole idea. what on gods earth makes you think they're pretending? why would she drag herself through that mental anguish? if you'll remember, courtney grew up in a religious mormon household. why put herself through that? for 'clout'? to be 'different'? i'll tell you what, as someone who grew up 'different' in a religious family, it is not fucking fun. it is ignorant and disrespectful of you to assume anyone has the comfort to "pretend" they're queer to "stand out." i did not spend years at my bedside trying to pray away the gay just for someone like you to come in and say someone in my community is pretending. i did not go through my formative years lamenting how different i was from everyone around me for you to come in and accuse another queer person of faking it.

and another thing - it is fucking BAFFLING to me that you would say courtney was 'desperate' to be as interesting as shayne, damien, and ian. you named three white straight men. hello???? are you fucking blind to what you just wrote? courtney has been out here BEING different, being unique and interesting and genuinely herself. for as long as i've been watching smosh, they have been the core of that company. as of this moment, they are the only current non-male main cast member and the second-longest-running main cast member overall. she's an accomplished writer, actor, producer, and director. without her, there's no funeral roasts, no reunions, no 'our leaked dms.' without her, there's simply no smosh, because they're a major part of the reason that company even lived through the defy collapse and the pandemic. they're also just objectively one of the funniest cast members there (can you imagine not having boneless. or pov you're a lobster. i honestly wish i could be half the comedic genius courtney is and that's not an exaggeration or a joke). they are interesting because of who they are, not because they're 'pretending' to be anything. courtney would be just as popular and beloved as she currently is even if she had never come out, which they only did because they were brave and trying to be their most authentic version of herself.

this ask left my stomach rolling. i am absolutely appalled. the smoshblr community we've created here is meant to be a safe haven, as smosh the company has become, for outcasts and oddballs, and that is supposed to include the lgbt community. i have praised smoshblr again and again for being the place i've felt most comfortable and accepted, but this is extremely hurtful. as a bisexual woman who has constantly struggled with being 'queer' enough, i take this kind of thing personally. and you may be thinking that this isn't about me, but it is. this is about every queer person who has been accused of 'faking it' by one biphobe or another. if a person says they're queer - they're fucking queer. end of story.

It's been a while, but I've finally finished up my draft of Chapter 4 of Hiding Out In The Open. Hoping to post by the middle of this month once my lovely beta readers have a chance to help me make it better. For now, here's a snippet of Baz POV. Perhaps you'll recall the premise revolves around post-Watford Snowbaz bonding over a psychology podcast; they're discussing an episode about the psychology of disgust here. Under the cut because, well, it's a bit disgusting (your CW is this: the real life Hidden Brain ep this references is called Crickets and Cannibals 😂).

I curl my lip. “Just because lobster was once considered the vermin of the sea doesn’t mean I��m going to eat a bloody chocolate covered cricket.” My diet is gruesome enough as it is—I chugged the blood of four solidly-built London alley rats on the way here alone—which I suspect is the subtext of this whole display.  Snow basically confirms it. (He practically winks at me.) “Don’t yuck my yum, Baz,” he says breezily, popping another “chocolate” into his mouth with a flourish. (This time he chews with his mouth closed at least. I shudder at every crunch.) He swallows. “And I won’t yuck yours.” It’s all incredibly confusing. Before last week, every allusion and innuendo seemed to indicate that he found my unique nutritional requirements to be utterly loathsome. (Which they, of course, are.) I roll my eyes. “Where do we draw the line then, Snow? Andes plane crash victim crisps?”  He screws his face up. “First off: Gross. And”—he pauses to lick chocolate off his fingers—“you know full well I said I’d be okay with being eaten, not the other way round.” (Crowley below, how did I get here?)
