my ranking of The Bridge by Billy Joel, just how i'm feeling right now

1) Getting Closer - this one just has such good vibes, i really love it, but there's not much specifics i can point out besides like there's a bunch in the main part of the song i love and definitely like the last 30 seconds are so nice

2) A Matter of Trust - yeah with this one too it's not like a super strong knowing it's one of my favorites, i just have fun with it, and i really like how it starts

3) Code of Silence ft. Cyndi Lauper - this one hits pretty close for me and it always makes me think a lot, i really like that, and yeah i really like this song

4) Temptation - i think this song is funny lol and i also really like how it sounds

5) Modern Woman - i also think this one is funny lol, and i always have fun with it

6) Big Man on Mulberry Street - i really like parts of it but overall it doesn't stick out to me too much, like i feel like i have a vague sense of what it sounds like yknow? cus it doesn't stick too much when i listen to it

7) This is the Time - has a lot of really nice moments, just overall not an absolute favorite

8) Running on Ice - yeah this is a good solid song, i do like it a lot, it just doesn't stick out in my mind very much

9) Baby Grand ft. Ray Charles - i still really like it, it's just not my favorite. it's funny when they're just talking to each other though (like that Michael Jackson song where he and Paul McCartney are just talking to each other at one point lmao) (right, The Girl Is Mine, that's what it's called)

Also if you listen to a Billy Joel song and think "this kinda sounds like [other musician]" 9 times out of 10 he was doing that on purpose, he's always like "I don't want to sound like me" and he also originally wanted to be a songwriter and wrote music with other artists in mind so that's especially apparent on the early albums. He did write a couple songs with Dylan in mind even though he was like "Dylan would never have covered it he writes his own stuff" lol.

We talk a lot about Steve getting into Eddie's interests- playing D&D, listening to metal, having Eddie read LotR to him- and some people have written about Eddie getting into Steve's interests, but there's still quite an imbalance. So here are my thoughts on what aspects of Steve's life Eddie gets excited about.

Eddie really enjoys listening to music with Steve. While he may be a metalhead, that doesn't mean that's the only genre he listens to, and to limit him to that would be an injustice to his character. First and foremost Eddie likes music. He likes music that pushes boundaries and experiments with sound and makes people think. What a hypocrite he'd be if he refused to listen to anything outside his preferred genre.

One of his favorite things to do with Steve is swap music. They'll sit and alternate playing Slayer and Electric Light Orchestra, Dio and Billy Joel. They'll pick up new tapes from artists neither have heard of and talk about what they do and don't like about them. They like discovering tapes they have in common in their collections- Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and Led Zeppelin, to name a few.

They go to concerts together regularly as dates. Mostly local groups neither has heard of before, but always enjoyable.

Eddie figures out early on in their relationship that Steve likes to sing. That he's good at it. That he thought about a musical theatre career but decided he didn't want to deal with all the rejection that comes with auditioning. Eddie decides to learn all of Steve's favorite songs- pop and otherwise- on guitar so Steve can sing along when he plays. So that when Eddie is mindlessly strumming while trying to get out restless energy, Steve will know some of the songs. He even gets Steve onstage a couple times for some slower songs after they've been together a while.

Eddie listens to Top 40 hits with Steve (though he'd never admit that to the kids. Not because he's ashamed, but because they would never stop teasing him about how gone he is for Steve if they knew), and learns Steve's favorite tracks so he can play them for him.

It took a very long time, but after seeing how legitimately excited Steve gets over sports, Eddie decided to give that a try too. He watches games with Steve, tapes them for him when Steve has a long shift and can't watch it live. He still doesn't quite understand the rules and mixes up terms, but he can admit that it's fun to try and follow along and predict strategies and bemoan bad ref calls.

Steve has even gotten Eddie to go to a few games in person with him. It didn't take much convincing, Eddie talks a big talk, but he's a sucker for spending time with Steve and seeing him happy. He's come to the conclusion that being in a crowd at a sports game isn't all that different from being in a crowd at a concert (as far as people gathering to watch a common interest goes), and energy is infectious. He ends up liking the first game he attends much more than he anticipated.

It helps that he likes trying to get the Kiss Cam to show him and Steve.

My Cronus Ampora headcanons!! Kinda lengthy but not by much I don't think.. hope you guys enjoy this since no art for the past few days!

• Cronus has BPD (elaborate more later) and possibly HPD (has some traits but might not be enough for a diagnosis). Autism + ADHD too.

• He's Bigender, uses he/she pronouns (would not care of whatever you use.) Sexuality: Bisexual & polyamorous, he can be anybody's valentino

• His favorite person is Kankri. Loves him to bits that he doesn't even know what his feelings are towards him.

• Has massive daddy issues and does things out of spite of his ancestor. Used to be a daddy's boy but now rebels against everything he was taught. (Really resents the guy, even the mere thought of him. Though probably hasn't thought about him for a long time and thinks that it's for the better.)

• Takes up the tough guy act even though in reality he's a bit of a coward but can put up a good fight if he has no other choice. He's quite skilled with rifles, blunt objects (ex. Golf clubs, baseball bats..cheap acoustic guitars) and his fists. She also knows how to use a wand but would rather not to.

• He wears contacts instead of glasses. Cronus absolutely HATES looking like his ancestor and so avoids using as much as possible. But when he loses his contacts, Cronus still wouldn't wear them.

• He's still an asshole, blurts out of pocket things if he's jealous or angry. She would regret it immediately afterwards and drown in self-loathing but then later ignores it.

Though for the most part, she teases and pokes too much fun at others.

• He's still a midly annoying pathetic flirt that's probably a bit charming in some way or another if his other traits are ignored. Can be a good lover if given the chance and would likely love somebody to death. His love language? All of it. Act of service, gifts, physical affection— you name it! Can also take it in the form of sexual intimacy too. Huge sucker for physical touch as she's incredibly touch-starved.

• Unironically enjoys Earth's music. His favorite genre being doo-wop, rock n roll, jazz, R&B/soul and probably more lol. His favorite artists/bands are Billy Joel, Queen, the Smiths, Dion, Fabian and Lesley Gore! Some modern stuff too, his taste is really flexible and would listen to anything depending on his mood really.

So something that is brought up multiple times in TF2 is that music anachronistic. Meaning that their timeline of music does not line up with ours. The biggest example is Tom Jones’ hits that Scout enjoys being from the 90s while he is cranking them out in the 70s.

That being said, this gives me the creative liberty to come up with anachronistic headcanons for the mercs favorite bands without it conflicting with canon. So I present nine of the worst takes to ever exist:
