Call of Duty: Original Character
The Kusuma: Luna and Lexa
[originally posted on December 29, 2022]
John Price's personal "special force" and adopted children
Gifted Name, Legal Name, and Code Name:
Rajni Cakrawulan Purbawasesa Kusumaningrum = Rajni “Luna” Purbawasesa (she/they)
Bramantara Laksamana Sadawira Kusumawijaya = Bramantara “Lexa” Sadawira (he/they)
Character information:
Twitter thread: (currently contains Luna's journal)
twins, born in 1997, both are pansexuals.
Javanese, from Indonesia. Got kidnapped by the kidnappers, on purpose, they killed their parents. since 7 years old (2004), they have to fight to get foods.
saved by Captain Price when they were 15 (2012). they were found in somekind of gladiator sphere sonewhere at Suriname area. Price got their names from the kidnappers' file.
Price is basically like their brother but also their father. There's no in between.
Both are mirroring each other. When one got excited, the other would calm the other down. if they're both excited or calm, there have to be Price with them
introverted!Luna extroverted!Lexa , but that doesn't affect their personalities
both are curious by their own way. Luna would be asking and listening for answers. Lexa would reading and searching for answers.
Price brought them to the military to learn things. Maybe too much. Because— Luna can control various land vehicles, while Lexa can control various air/sky and water vehicles.
Price let them stay in his 2nd house, because he just use his 1st house. And let them to come whenever they want. But, as javanese, they were taught with what nots of manners even without Price tell them anything about “manners”
both are multilinguals. Luna: fluent in indonesian, javanese and english, good in hebrew, greek and latin, knows arabic and russian. Lexa: fluent in indonesian, javanese, english, french and dutch, good in spanish, mandarin, japanese, korean. Luna curses in javanese; Lexa curses in indonesian.
Luna is the rebel kid, and Lexa is her caretaker or her tamer. Price? I told you, he is whether their brother or their father.
Fight preference:
Luna is great in physical combat because she knows Pencak Silat (Indonesian Martial Arts) learnt Karate and Taekwondo, and also her body is strong, so she can use her strength, endurance, and energy. Somewhat good but not that great in using ranged weapons, but melee weapon actually is her specialty. does anything with her instincts.
Lexa is great in hand-to-hand combat because he has a great agility and stamina. not really good in using melee weapons, but ranged weapons is his specialty. also tech-person. does anything with his knowledges (he got photographic memory)
Luna has wavy Keris and Lexa has Bionet. Both are Javanese traditional weapons.
Luna plays rhythmic instruments. Lexa plays melodic instruments. Price would sing with Lexa.
Luna has a journal/diary (see here). She likes to write anything with her handwriting. Lexa loves the convenient of writing with keyboard, he probably has writeas or Ao3 or even Wattpad.
Luna likes to cooks main courses; while Lexa for deserts. Price taught them.
Physical Appearance:
Luna: a bit darker tan skinned, big round eyes with dark brown eye color, middle long eyelashes but thicker than Lexa's, natural arched eyebrows, moody in clothes types and colors (mostly black, dark colors, and monochromes; wears lighter color if Lexa tells her to or when she wants to).
Lexa: has lighter skin tone than Luna, sharp eyes with brown eye color, long eyelashes, thick straight shaped eyebrows, wear any kind of clothes and colors based on anything exist by his sight (but mostly in earth toned colors; wears darker colors if Luna tells him to, or when he wants to).
Luna: 165 cm, 65kg. Waist long black hair, tied bun half down with hairstick in casual, dutch braided in fight and french braided bun in formal. Always bring a lipstick, it comes in handy. Always has pointy hairsticks and big needles on her outfit that she could use to attack anyone. Only used the pointy hairsticks to warn the enemy. Her right eye ball is changed with mechanical prosthetic eye that she can turn into flashlight with a magnet. She lost her right eye sight in fight when she was 10 because of a spear, that explains the long wound from her right cheek through her right eye to her right side of the forehead. she also has any smaller recovered scars on her body of the stabbing or slashing. she would always use black sunglasses.
Lexa: 185cm, 85kg. Shoulder long dark red brown hair, tied half bun down in casual, a total mess with headband in fight, tied bun in formal. He only needs his finger to comb his hair (Luna can't relate). Always bring slingshot and any kinds of bullet on his outfit. the biggest scar he had is on his back, long wound from his left waist to his right shoulder. he also has smaller recovers scars on his body by the stabbing or slashing. always has the 2nd headband or bracelets on his left hand to cover the scars he made after he tried to kill himself numerous times, just for the kidnappers “saved” him because the donators liked his fights.
sometimes— they would have half mask on for their daily.
Education and Emploment:
While they weren't “working” with Price, Luna is studying for philosophy of divinity major and serving in a church near the seminary, while Lexa is studying criminological psychology and working in a library.
Price gave their “nickname” by their real name. Luna from Wulan (also means Bulan), means “Moon”. Lexa from Laksamana, means “a Fighter, a Warrior”. They like it. Luna once challenged Price to say her first name, Rajni; Price needs a week to finally pronounced it correctly.
both are strategist; Luna with her instinct and Lexa with his knowledge. Yes. They come in package.
they come in package. no one can change that, except if Price tell them to go in one-by-one. They were called “The Kusuma”, means “The Flowers”. They are a special “team” not related to any military, so they only work in Price's commands, mostly in guerrillas or rescue missions. Sometimes, they come in package because Luna needs someone to keep her safe while she was doing anything she needs to do.
Maybe Price was too young for being their Father, but Laswell understood how important Price for them. She gave them a device to monitor Price's position when they need it or when they have to (means when Price was on a mission). The Twin are the only one who would know Price position if he were abducted, gone missing, or was going on a run. Lexa then upgraded it.
Plot Information:
They are always go to a forest on saturdays, where they would fight each other without safety to maintain their abilities in fight. And Price is the only person who know their spot, and the only one who allowed by the twin to come or to join them in the fight. They feel honoured for the way Price would keep up with them as a twin, that means sometimes they would hold each other's energy. But— They know how “dangerous” Price actually is. If anything, they acknowledge that it's basically them who needs to keep up with Price, rather than Price having to keep up with them even for being a twins.
You know the original Luna? Yes, the Tse Míngzhū's Luna. Kusuma's Luna likes Tse “Luna” Míngzhū as if she was her sister. When Kusuma's Luna is with Luna, Kusuma's Luna will go with “Luna-two”, and they were sometimes joking with it in “Loonatoo”. Tse promised Rajni to bring her to Singapore and would go with her if she wants to go back to Indonesia, when they have holidays or vacations.
Luna thought Soap and Alejandro was scary, while Lexa thought the same about Ghost and Rudolfo. Meanwhile, Gaz gives them cakes or cookies, sometimes; same with Laswell's wife, after MWII2022, because it's the first time Price let them to meet Laswell, after Laswell found out about Makarov.
Why were the Twin ever got scared of them? Soap: he reminds Luna of their scary neighbor when she was a kid who had the same hairstyle (in Indonesia, there was an assumption or stereotype that people with the same hairstyle like Soap or mohawk are not good people...). Alejandro: Luna is the “look into people's eyes when talking” person, without a smile, Alejandro's eyes was so sharp and looks like could've cut people in pieces just by looking at them. Ghost: well... their kidnappers wore balaclavas... both Luna and Lexa do remember about it but it was traumatic for Lexa even more. Rodolfo: for Lexa, he looks even more serious and mysterious than Ghost... Lexa wouldn't wonder if Ghost being mysterious because Ghost hides his face; but Rudolfo shows his face and looks scary.
Valeria was one of their “donator” for a few years. Price gave the Twin all the fighters' and donators' files once they got into a college. He was too afraid to give it to them when they were not “old” enough for it. When Price told them they got Valeria Garza, it's Lexa who instantly remember about her and having a hard time to cope with that. While— Luna doesn't remember at first (she's having damaged memory due to traumatic head concussion); but she'd chose to be the one who remember rather than having his brother going through a hard time of those triggering events.

What I’ve been jamming 1/9-1/15: modern grind, punk veterans, and sluggish metal
Instead of doing 10 songs per week, I’m just going to do however many I can based off my schedule and what’s been occupying my mind. I’ll eventually cross-post these to my website once that’s up and running, but for now, here it is!
NOFX - the Decline: 18 minutes may not be an eyebrow-raising song length for a heavy metal band, but for a hardcore punk band that has had as many ups and downs as the world’s most neck-whipping roller coaster, it’s easy to be skeptical that it won’t outstay its welcome, as many believe NOFX itself has. However, this 1999 single is easily NOFX’s magnum opus, and considering the band have finally announced their impending breakup, it both has and will never be topped in the 25 years since. What keeps this jaded anthem from growing stale and repetitive? Fat Mike’s stellar bass lines, a lack of their typical crude humor, and varied tempos and instrumentation that while never goes anywhere completely unexpected, is interesting enough to keep you on your toes. So long, NOFX, and thanks for the Decline.
Gatecreeper - Emptiness: The second longest song on this list, clocking in at a perfectly reasonable 11 minutes, Emptiness is the best doom metal song I’ve ever heard, and it’s not even from a doom metal band. Gatecreeper, hailing from the arid deserts of Arizona, has a reputation as one of the best modern old school death metal bands, but they weren’t content to have mastery of just one genre under their belt. Their 2021 surprise EP, An Unexpected Reality, starts with seven songs of blisteringly fast metal that isn’t quite death, isn’t quite thrash, and isn’t quite grind, but is undeniably catchy and brutal. But it’s Emptiness, the final track, that blew me away three years ago, and still blows me away today. It’s a slow, crushing track that’s saturated with dread and despair, building ever upwards over thick breakdowns and submerged melodies until finally spilling over to glorious catharsis, then fading back into those dreadful depths. It’s powerful stuff, and would have easily have been my song of the year, if there wasn’t competition from the absolute mad geniuses in Archspire and First Fragment.
Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties - In Lieu of Flowers: This song just dropped Friday, and I can’t get enough of it. It’s their first song in a fair while, and Soupy once again proves he’s the undisputed master of writing painfully earnest, heartfelt songs about healing. While their music is ostensibly about the fictional Aaron West and his road to recovery, there’s no denying the truth that it’s grounded in. I was initially surprised, then immediately blown away by the song’s fusion of emo and americana. It’s a triumphant return for one of the scene’s most iconic side projects, and I can’t wait for the rest of the album, especially since the entire thing was recorded with a 16-piece band according to the post they made announcing it. While their music is sonically different from The Wonder Years, veering more into folk rock territory than the mature pop punk they’re famous for, it’s absolutely required listening for fans.
Moonlight Sorcery - To Withhold the Day: Moonlight Sorcery are a band I recently discovered from a “best of 2023” list via BrooklynVegan, and I’m so glad I discovered them. They’re a Finnish black metal band, but this isn’t the lo-fi or harsh sound you’re expecting. They’re easily the most melodic and symphonic black metal band I’ve heard, and they effortlessly blend the discordant, chilling textures of the genre with a dark, catchy, and triumphant atmosphere that at times almost has a power metal bent. Their lyrics bounce back and forth between English and Finnish, and while they of course have the misanthropic and mythological elements found in most bands of this nature, they’re a bit tamer, and a bit more fantastical. Truly a band to keep your eye on, and one I’d recommend for metalheads that don’t particularly like black metal, as it just might change your mind.
Slugdge - Crop Killer: It would be easy to write Slugdge off as just another substanceless gimmick band by looking at the song titles alone, like “Lettuce Prey,” “The Sound of Mucus”, and “Slimewave Zero.” But you’d be sorely mistaken, and missing out on one of the most underrated metal bands of all time. They chose the name Slugdge as a joke after seeing so many sludge metal bands being themed around animals, and created a slug god complete with mythology and lore that they write all their songs around. But don’t be fooled, these guys are anything but unserious. They write haunting and cinematic metal that borrows elements from sludge (obviously), death, black, and progressive metal, and have a sound that’s not quite like anything else out there. Crop Killer is one of their best, who sets the mood right from the beginning with a nauseating 15/8 time signature and a tapped bass riff that’s meant to be disorienting. The mix of clean and harsh vocals really elevates it as well, and makes them stand out from the pack.
Full of Hell, Nothing - Rose Tinted World: I’m pretty sure I talked about the Full of Hell and Nothing grindcore/shoegaze collab a week or so ago, but I just have to bring up this song. The first half is a wall of distortion and beautiful fuzz that’s both punishing and melodic, before the second half takes you to an entirely different place. Radio hosts and weather reports slightly overlap each other as static rises in the background, before enveloping the listener entirely in a muddy mess of screeches and ambient noise. Truly must be heard to be believed, and if I ever did shrooms, I’m absolutely listening to this song on them.
Green Day - One-Eyed Bastard: I haven’t listened to much Green Day in recent years; the last record I ever listened to in full was 21st Century Breakdown, which I purchased at Hot Topic when I was, what, 13? It wasn’t a bad album, and had some great moments, but it was a far cry from their punkier days with albums like Dookie and Nimrod, and didn’t have the same spark that American Idiot had that made it an instant classic of a rock opera. None of the singles released from Uno/Dos/Tres or whatever came after really appealed to me, and I no longer had any interest in paying attention to what they were doing now, especially when I could always listen to their old stuff whenever I wanted. But I’m keeping my eye on this next record, because the singles have been surprisingly listenable, and One-Eyed Bastard is my favorite of the lot. They’re definitely no longer the kids who pelted their audience with mud at Woodstock, at least not sonically, but there’s plenty of value here, with a catchy riff and all the charm and rebellious spirit I’ve been missing from them. Only time will tell if this album earns a proud spot among their legacy, but I’m oddly optimistic.
That’s it! If you have any recommendations for me, or want to chat music in general, send me an ask and lemme know what’s on your mind!

Lingshan Hermit: Buddhism is without borders
A friend living in the West once asked me whether Buddhism is applicable to the Western world, whether it's suitable for those raised in the ambience of a church, and how to integrate Buddhism with Western culture to make it acceptable to Westerners.
I counter-asked: Do Westerners have troubles? Do they get angry? If so, then Buddhism in the West will not be regarded as a useless thing, nor will it be disregarded.
Buddhism belongs to everyone, to every sentient being, regardless of whether you have yellow, white, or black skin, whether you live in the African rainforest or the Sahara Desert, in Beijing, Johannesburg, or Istanbul, regardless of whether you eat sushi, kimchi, or bread and butter, whether you wear sarees or kimonos, and whether you speak Chinese, Tibetan, an African dialect, or Malayalam. As long as you wish for happiness and hope to escape suffering, Buddhism will be helpful to you.
Outward differences cannot mask inward similarities. Everyone desires happiness, everyone possesses greed, anger, and ignorance, the targets of these feelings just differ. For instance, raw fish slices that stimulate the appetite of Japanese people might be hard to swallow for Chinese. Yet, Chinese people would salivate over Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. The objects that trigger greed, anger, and ignorance are different, but the emotions are the same.
People wearing kimonos and people wearing sarees are fundamentally no different; they possess the same greed, anger, ignorance, and all the weaknesses of human nature. As long as we have these emotions, we need Buddhism to level them out.
However, similarly, I do not believe that Buddhism needs no adjustments when it enters the West - of course, these changes are only in the method, the essence cannot be altered.
For example, when Tibetan Buddhism came to Han regions, many Tibetan teachers also brought along their lifestyle habits, some of which had little to do with Buddhism.
Some of the metaphors used by the Buddha in his teachings are rather cryptic today, and we might need to refer to a dictionary to understand what the Buddha was talking about. Some things mentioned in Buddha's metaphors have disappeared from modern life, but in Buddha's era, everyone was familiar with them, and using them as metaphors made it easier for everyone to grasp his teachings. If Buddha were alive today, I believe he would use familiar things to us for his metaphors.
What I'm trying to say is, in the West, Buddhism also needs to be explained in ways that Westerners can easily understand. The truth of the Four Seals can be told using things familiar to Westerners. You cannot change the truth, but you can change the way the truth is told.
For instance, in Tibetan Buddhism, when describing the merits of the Lotus-Born Great Tamer mantra, it was said: if you recite this mantra, you will get a lot of yaks and livestock. Obviously, this is a specific instruction for Tibetans living on the Tibetan Plateau.
If you describe the merits of this mantra to a Westerner who works daily at the New York Stock Exchange, they might not be too interested. They might even abandon the mantra, worrying about where to raise all these yaks they received (raise yaks in Manhattan?). In this case, the description of the mantra's merit should be appropriately adjusted, perhaps to: if you recite this mantra, you will earn a lot of money on stocks. For a Westerner working at the New York Stock Exchange, this would be much more attractive. You should understand what I am trying to express based on this.
In fact, unknowingly, Buddhism has begun to spread in the West. You might catch sight of Western lamas in Tibetan red robes, and more and more Western faces are appearing at various Dharma assemblies. This shows that it is not just us who need Buddhism, but also demonstrates the universal value of Buddhism. It depicts eternal truth. This truth is the same everywhere.
As long as this world still has greed, anger, ignorance, troubles, wars, as long as we still have jealousy and displeasure, Buddhism is necessary. The only situation where we could abandon Buddhism is when we all have achieved Buddhahood.

Empty - The Deadlands
She stumbled and steadied herself against River.
"Margherita?" asked Genevieve.
"I'm fine," she said. She turned to look across the desert, across the vast empty space to where the forest sat. Like the Meren, she knew where it was even when she couldn't see it. Marghe shook her head, bringing herself back to the present. "We should get going."
Genevieve allowed Marghe to help her onto Silver's saddle – sideways this time, perched up there perfect and painted like a princess from a tale. Even that sight, so strange and alien to this land, could not keep her from looking over her shoulder entirely.
"Is it the forest?"
Marghe nodded. "Tamers belong to the forest. It makes our hearts beat, and we could no more live without it than air, or water."
"Do you mean literally-"
"It's not far to Red Oaks now," Marghe said, cutting Genevieve off. She swung into River's saddle. The mare didn't need any urging today, she knew where they were and what it meant. All the horses knew it, and the wolves knew it. They were going home.
Shrug - Magic Black as Knight
"I guess a 'hero' would never do something like that, would they?" Iskandar brushed dirt off of more bones placing them gently outside of the grave.
He supposed that this was certainly something 'evil'. Although, it wasn't as if any of these people had any use for their bodies anymore. So what was wrong with making use of them?
Iskandar looked at the skeleton beneath him. But he felt nothing whatsoever about taking it for his own use. With a shrug he continued his activity. And when he had unearthed the entire thing, he gathered the bones into a bag, magically induced the dirt to fill in the grave, and made his way back to his workshop.
Making a construct wasn't really all that hard. It was nothing at all like actually bring someone back from the dead. As long as all the bones were in the right place, and held together with the right material, giving it the ability to move was more or less equivalent to simply pouring magic into it the way one would pour water into a pitcher. If it ran out of magic, it would stop moving until it was refilled.
Iskandar wasn't someone who had any problem knowing where bones were supposed to go. It was true that he mostly dealt with animal corpses, but humans weren't that much different in the end. It took him only two days to get the bone and willow entwined together, and then he started on the clay. Sculpting was a little bit harder.
If one only wanted brute strength, then the rough approximation of a human would be good enough. If one only wanted brute strength, one probably would've reinforced the bones with oak or some other sturdy wood. But if he wanted something that could move like a human and teach him to use a sword, he needed something much more agile, something much more accurate. So he took his time, building it bit by bit.
Hesitate - Laero
She did not allow herself to hesitate by the edge of the forest, but plunged right in.
The forest didn’t seem to appreciate her intrusion. Roots clutched at her feet. Branches scraped her face and tugged at her clothing. In the deepening gloom, Nelli had no way to avoid these obstacles. I’ve faced worse. The fact that it was true did not make her feel any better. Nelli stumbled over a rock on the ground and paused to lean against the nearest tree. I can’t just crash around like a drunken bear. I have to be more careful or everyone and everything in a twenty mile radius will hear me.
A wooden javelin buried itself in the dirt two inches from her left foot.
Something already has, I see. Nelli followed the trajectory and looked up. Even in the failing light she could make out a shock of red hair, a dark smear of tattoos, and the distinctive glint of a ceramic bell. It could only be one person – Geri’s missing older sister.
“You are long way from sea, Marzjen,” the other girl said.
Nelli almost groaned again, and only just managed to stop herself. Did it have to be now? I’m in no mood to put up with Winterlander brag and bluster. But it was either bluster or fight, and Nelli knew she was in no condition to fight. “You’re an even longer way from the Norforest, Laero,” she said back.
“Hmph,” the Laero said.
What was her name again? K something?
The redhead leapt out of the tree to land next to her javelin. She pulled it out of the dirt and inspected Nelli. Nelli crossed her arms but otherwise didn’t move.
“You are very wet,” the Laero observed.
“I swam here,” Nelli said. She studied the girl in front of her. The resemblance between Geri and her older sister was clear – the square face, the freckles, the unruly red curls, the slightly slanted brown eyes. But the differences between them were just as clear. Geri had played at being a warrior, all bluff and swagger. This girl had some of the same, but she did not need either. She stood like a warrior, held her lance like she was ready to use it, and her eyes were as cold, hard, and savage as Nelli’s blade.
A breeze flowed by and Nelli shivered. In the dark, wet clothes were not comfortable in the least. Best to get this over with. I don’t want to fight her. Not after seeing her up close. “As we came near the shore, Bozier and his men ambushed our ship. My captain sent me overboard in order to go to the south. There’s an army there, sworn to protect the people of this land.”
Escape - Temitope
"Do you do that on purpose?" Temitope asked.
"Do what?"
"Dazzle people."
Princess Sigrid grinned, and Temitope found herself somewhat giddy and lightheaded. "Don't worry about that right now. We have to plan our great escape."
Temitope shook her head to clear it. "I assumed it would be tonight before the merchant leaves," she said. "But everyone is still awake."
"They won't pay attention to you, you clearly have mastered the art of making yourself look unobtrusive." Princess Sigrid fell gracefully into a wicker chair beside the door. Temitope lowered herself on her bed. For a moment, the two girls simply looked at one another.
"So the witch…" Temitope said.
It was Princess Sigrid's turn to shake her head, as if she had been daydreaming. "You have to go up into the attic, until you find her great loom. That's the source of her power, and no one with magic of their own can get near it."
"I have to destroy it?"
Princess Sigrid laughed. She had a very beautiful laugh as well. "Hardly! We want to escape, not to have her hunt us to the ends of the world. What happened is that she rather wove me up into the palace and now I can't leave or use magic."
Temitope nodded, although she didn't understand at all. It seemed her borrowed wisdom could not explain matters of magic. "So I find the weaving that is yours and destroy it?"
"Unravel it," Princess Sigrid clarified. "It has to be unwoven or it won't work. The Queen should be busy with the after dinner entertainment right now, you won't get a better chance."
"What will you do?"
Princess Sigrid stood up in one fluid motion. "I'll fetch your supplies and horse and meet you at the beach. Once the cloth is unraveled, you can leave everything else to me."
Moment - Miracles
"It's not that we're so frivolous!" Larkin felt the need to protest. "If you hang around here long enough, you'll learn that our gods are even bigger gossips than we are." That, he knew, was the truth. Larkin knew that one had to take any stories in the moral world with a thread of indulgence. It was the gods who gossiped, to each other and to their priests, and lovers, and any other mortals they favored. Any stories told among the humans would've been distorted from true events many times over – if not made up entirely for some political or social motive.
As for the stories made up by humans, the gods also seemed to find them funny to repeat and would even stage their own versions, whether a ballad, a poem, a story, or performance. If it was gossip in the heavens, it was gossip down here, and if it was gossip in the realm of men, it was surely a joke in the realm above.
Giscard shook his head. "Why even worship such creatures? What do they do for you?"
Cause trouble mainly, Larkin thought, but he didn't dare say such things aloud, no matter how irritated he was. He had already gotten into quite enough divine trouble. He tried to be diplomatic about it. "Gods have a lot of power, and they do answer our prayers and lend it to us when we need it."
"You could get along fine without them," Arwyn said suddenly. "Only that bloodline is naturally occurring in this country. Far better to worship them as gods and keep them placated and spoiled, rather than allow them to descend and become demons plaguing humanity."
Both Larkin and Giscard turned to stare at him. Arwyn was still staring vaguely into the distance, not at all concerned by the things he had just uttered. When he finally glanced their way, he seemed surprised to find them looking. He raised his eyebrows.
"Did I say something so odd?"
Larkin shook his head. He had never thought about such a thing directly but hearing it said that way did make sense, and it echoed some impressions he'd had in the past. He had thought, in some of his less charitable moments, that it was a good thing the gods were so lazy. Who knew what they would do if they were more ambitious? However, he'd never considered what they would do if they didn't get the worship of the public. "Nothing just… Isn't rather dangerous to talk that way?"
"Aren't sorcerers often considered quite blasphemous?"
"I… Guess?"
"Sorcery isn't something that came from the gods, so they don't approve of it. It was created by the night queen, whom they despise." Arwyn turned away from them again. "Sorcerers fall under the moon god's protection but the moon god belongs to the night queen, and who wants to rouse her ire?"

◟༺✦༻◞ Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City: Beast Tamer's Talisman.
[...] Legends hold that the ancient Python King once forged a secret, Abyss-repelling treasure that could only be retrieved from the filth-ridden ancient city. Perhaps such was simply the wishful thinking of those who dwelled deep in despair, but for the brave, this hope was yet worth a try. At the end of his journey, the warrior bereft of his home would reach the burned-out city, and there come face to face with a secret long buried.
◟༺✦༻◞ Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City: Mountain Ranger's Marker.
[...] Today, these tokens lie silently in deserted nooks of the ash-laden ancient city. And none would ever walk these paths again, just as those who left the tokens behind had hoped. Legends said that a treasure powerful beyond measure lay at the heart of the black tide, in the ancient city wherein a foul dragon lurked. It was akin to a golden wheel that could reverse time's flow, burning away the writhing agonized present and bringing the beautiful past back. As if grasping a last lifeline, the veteran, peril-proven Mountain Ranger decided to make this his final stop, Even should it be yet another trap laid by some heartless spectator for the terrified people.
◟༺✦༻◞ Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City: Mystic's Gold Dial.
[...] When the black tide darkened the sun and enveloped the land, the Night Kingdom was also occupied by the vicious hounds of the beast-rifts, and their dark blood was smeared everywhere. The voices of the ancient Wayob were drowned amidst the sonorous sea of metal and stone clashing and the wailing of tormented life, nigh forgotten by all. But the tribal shamans knew that for warriors devoured by the dark shadows, even death was a luxury, And even should their valiant spirits escape the clutches of evil, they would often lose their way in the night realms, finally becoming unable to return home.
◟༺✦༻◞ Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City: Wandering Scholar's Claw Cup.
[...] He had once read in the oldest scrolls that the ruins left by the ancient dragons contained weapons capable of defending against the demons. [...] Until, at last, in the depths of a forsaken city, he discovered a secret — or perhaps a curse — that had been hidden for thousands of years. Legends held that the Python King of Ochkanatlan once built a sky-faring treasure ship, And that within this ship was a secret prize that could drive the Abyss beyond the bounds of the world.
