The Love Elixir of Augusta Stern

Augusta Stern is a powerhouse of a woman. She went to pharmacy school at a time that women in the medical field weren't welcome. She forged her identification and licensing documents to continue working long into the traditional retirement age.

Unfortunately for the woman who doesn't want to slow down and retire, she is forced to when her employer suspects her documents are falsified. Upon the recommendation of her niece she moves from New York's Brooklyn to a retirement community in Florida.

Florida ends up being a blast from the past that Augusta wasn't prepared for. Nor is she welcoming her past to come a' knocking. Her first - and only - love also lives in her new community.

The story is told from a dual timeline, following Augusta from the time she was a young girl falling in love to the present day of the story when she is a jaded spinster.

The story unfolds with twists, turns, tragedies, and heartbreak. Answers to the heartbreak Augusta suffered as a young woman are finally answered decades later, and her first love is able to explain himself after years of danger and threats hanging over his head. Circumstances also unfold that almost allow current events to play out almost exactly as they did decades prior.

This story is emotional, heartbreaking, endearing, and outright hilarious. This story will appeal to those who love a good laugh and second chances. The story does have its own share of heavy emotion, but has the happy ending the characters deserve.
