lol i've complained about this a fair amount on twitter but I got a comment last night? that made me think about this again.
And its ...getting weird comments that I cannot tell if they're being RUDE or there's a language barrier or some combination of both.
I finished a standee art last night and posted it and this morning I get a reply from someone who's replied very confusingly before...."You're tired and need to go to sleep"
Which LMAO wasn't entirely untrue but that was the whole comment on the art.
Not to put this person on blast and obviously do not go bother them if you know where the comment is at.....
But like what the hell does that mean? I F E E L like this is a translation error or a miscommunication. But thats the ENTIRE problem. THAT IS THE ENTIRE PROBLEM. I'm tired of getting comments that are CONFUSING to me AT BEST...and more often just fucking rude.
Like....its weird. Bc i've been on the internet for close to 3 decades now??? Lol I'm so old. But.....I've been more confused in the past year or so with how people talk to perfect strangers on the internet. I think it might be a generational thing but like LMAO ARE THE "KIDS THESE DAYS" just ......fucking RUDE??? Like I've heard pre-teens and teens talk to each other and its pretty mean but so were a lot of kids when I was a teen. So maybe its a language barrier there.
But I feel like....because everyone is so comfortable talking to perfect strangers on the internet, and getting EXTREMELY overly close? or thinking they have the right to speak to people as if we're super besties (which in turn means saying a rude backhanded compliment thats intended to be nice but just sounds mean??)...its just....so common lately for me to just be like "Why the fuck would you say this to me?"
I'm not your friend. I'm just a random artist online that draws from a fandom you probably like (or hate? Idk your life lol)
I think this whole thing STARTED with Japanese and Korean artists (and probably lots of other languages that aren't English) begging people to stop leaving horrible reaction images or people saying "I'M GONNA K*LL YOU!!!!! THIS IS DEVASTATING!!!! I'M DEAD!!!!" and the poor artist being like...okay well this is a thing I have to live with now.
And I thought we DID move past that but I feel like its back just without the reaction images bc Gen Alpha and Z thinks reaction images are cringe LMAO (small blessings)
But ....I forget which drawing I did.....It was something sad. I think it was a sad zosan?? And this person LITERALLY said they were going to hunt me down. And that wasn't the initial comment. They said something equally as rude and when I asked for clarification for what they meant they were like " I'M GONNA FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE"
GIRL ITS FANART OF ZORO AND SANJI!?!?!?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN
Again. I've talked about this til I'm blue in the face (fingers?? since its typing??) about this on twitter. And I've been sitting on this comment for nearly 24 hrs just....fucking confused. And I hate this ....confusion. Bc In My Day(tm) .....lol I didn't like mean comments then either but it was usually some asshole in my tumblr mail being like "YOU FUCKIN SUCK!!" lol
I might just be too stupid to interpret these quirky little comments but like
guys please if you like something. Just be normal and say "omg I love this" or like a cute reaction that is APPROPRIATE to the situation lol Don't demand things from me when I'm already giving you something that I'm doing in my free time for fun. Lol And stop asking me if there's a fic for comics or art that i TELL you came from me asdfasdfa I don't know where the fic is. I'd like to know too. (but also if I draw from a fic I link to the fic but I've decided to stop that for the time being. Any comics coming from me will be mine wholecloth for the foreseeable future)

"scara, what's the thing you wanted to find? is it like.. maybe another keychain? an id holder? an acrylic standee? or a phone case of some sort?"
"its a secret. you'll see later when we find it." he smiled smugly, playing around with his necklace as you walked beside him.
feigning a scoff, you then pointed towards a tall building with the words "AKADEMIYA" lighted up brightly. "we're almost there, you've gotta lead the way though. i don't know the directions to the inazuma classes.."
scaramouche nodded and continued walking, "yeah, just keep on following me." putting his hands in his pockets, his thoughts racing miles per hour.
fuck. am i really giving it to her? i cant believe this.
┊ ➶ 。˚ °
"we're here." scaramouche spoke as you admired the entrance to where inazuma class is located.
..this place is so pretty..! "wow... am i allowed to take a picture of the entrance? am i?" you questioned excitedly, taking out a phone from your bag.
he shrugged, "i think it should be fine, it's not like they don't have a video published of a tour of the whole akademiya. feel free to." you smiled and nodded, taking some pictures of the place for yourself and showing him the results once done.
"do you like them? look! i even caught a picture of you here." grinning happily, you handed your phone to him as you watched the corners of his lips lift up. "yeah, they look nice. mind sending me these pictures?"
nodding happily, you sent the pictures to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"we should start looking now. you could start from the front of the class, i'll start from the back." scaramouche said, and began to search for the item.
you then picked up an artificial flower that's in half, showing it to him. "i guess someone in this class got heartbroken or something like that.." sweatdropping, you grabbed a cardboard box nearby and put the flower inside.
i think this'll take awhile to find..
┊ ➶ 。˚ °
"scara, it's been around 20 minutes.. did you find anything? all i found were stuff like school books, hair ties, keychains, and hairclips. what's up with people and keychains?" you questioned as he sighed softly.
"well, keychains are nice and you can bring it everywhere with you without it adding too much weight to your bag. there's one spot left we haven't checked, we should look there."
nodding, you followed him behind and began looking again. your eyes went towards a small cat plushie, grabbing it gently and showing it to the male.
"scara, is this what you were finding?"
his eyes widen slightly and went back to normal in a blink of an eye, walking in front of you. "yeah, it is.. if you look on it's back it has my nickname in cursive."
your eyes sparkled, handing over the plushie to him. "it's really cute.. and it kind of looks like you in some way. maybe it's the color?"
scaramouche gently pushed the plushie towards you again, "take it, i wanted to give it to you. it's something my aunt made for me, but i wanted you to have it now."
your eyes softened as you looked at the plushie and at him, holding the plushie near him again. "wait, i can't take this! it's yours, isn't it? i can't take this.."
the male shook his head and placed his hand on your head, "keep it, really. what was once mine, will be yours. i want you to keep it for yourself." ruffling your hair softly.
"then.. thank you. lots of thank you's. i'll update you every day with a picture of this cat plushie whenever i wake up! i'll take care of it with my whole being."
scaramouche chuckled and walked out of the class, "it's nothing, i think we should go back to our dorms now. it's kind of late, don't want our dorm advisers to scold us now do we?" you smiled and nodded, holding the plushie close to your chest as you closed the door.
and as you both walked away, you saw a flash of burgundy hair from the corner of your eyes. stopping in your tracks, you shrugged the thought away.
in a corner, a certain male put a hand over his mouth. "wasn't that yn.. and she was with scara? oh my god. a new discovery. i'm so glad i followed my intuition to find my hair tie at this hour!"

I went to the Arc V cafe
Tumblr media
Hi guys. I recently went to Japan and while I was there, I went to the Arc V 10th anniversary collaboration at Cafe BLANC in Ikebukuro. It was a highly surreal experience and I haven't seen anyone else post about it on here so I figured I would share.
I signed up for a lottery reservation through the website, but it seemed like there were a lot of spots available even though it was a weekend. I lined up 10 minutes before my reservation time, showed them my ticket, and got seated. The process goes like: you order your food, then you can go up and pick out merch, then you pay for everything at the end. It's pretty simple, but not necessarily intuitive if you've never been to one of these before. You can miss your chance to buy merch if you don't realize you have to do it before paying for your food.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were a bunch of framed posters of the characters on the walls. They seated me in front of my nemesis, Sylvio. There were a couple of TV screens with montages of the art playing as well, but there were signs saying not to photograph the screens specifically, so I didn't. The only other real decorations were these action cards plastered so sparingly around the cafe that I didn't notice them at first. You can sort of see one in the picture of the Sora poster. They were playing the music for the Arc V openings.
Tumblr media
I ordered the Yuzu (Zuzu) crepes and the Declan drink I don't remember the name of, which was scalding hot. I think I like wasn't expecting it to be hot because it was in a glass so I drank it through my straw and burned my tongue badly. Thanks Declan.
When you order, you get a drink coaster and a little mini print (photo print? bromide?), which are both random. I got a print of Yugo and a coaster of the Yuboys. You also get a somewhat larger print of your choosing if you spend at least ¥5,000.
Tumblr media
After I got my food I went up to shop. There were these foam standees up by the front that you could take pictures with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had a display case by the cash register of all the character goods that were available. The prices aren't bad, but everything is in a blind bag except for the large standees. I got one of everything except the small standees and pulled Yuri twice which is a W for me. I also got the Yuri large standee.
Tumblr media
Overall experience: Quite frankly the food was terrible, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone with a passing familiarity with themed cafes. The ambiance was also nothing terribly special. It's not like there were a ton of decorations or theming. Would I go to one of these again? I don't know. Maybe. Honestly probably. The novelty of being in a physical space dedicated to my favorite Yugioh spinoff and eating character-themed food is undeniably alluring. Even if the food is awful.
The cafe is running until May 12th, so if anyone else happens to be going to Tokyo over the next month and a half or so, I would be happy to share tips on making a reservation, what to do when you're there, etc. In exchange I only ask that you trade me or let me buy any Yuri merch you pull off of you. (Only half joking. Please bring him home I miss him.)
Thanks for reading!

Writing Interview Tag Game!
This was fun! Thanks for the tag @dr-demi-bee :D!
If I tagged you in an answer and you want to steal it from me, please do. Otherwise...hey friend @captain-castaway // @scrawlingmouse! And open tagging anyone else. There's only a select few I feel I can annoy these days.
Under a readmore because I, per usual, am long winded and do not want to ruin people's dashes.
When did you start writing?
Oh I was quite little, probably 6 or 7? I have a distinct memory of standing in my grandparents' kitchen, showing my step-grandmother a little flip-book I made about a frog when I was around that age. I had some of my poetry published in a children's anthology too. Unfortunately, at that time most of my family were more interested in my math and science scores than anything creative I did.
I got into forum-based roleplay when I was 10 (joined a Warrior Cats guild on Neopets) and from there really, the rest was history. That's why I say that I'm truly an rper at heart, to this day rp and collaboration are still where I have the most fun writing. But otherwise, I got into writing solo stuff when I was 10 or 11 and met friends who actually enjoyed creating as much as I did and didn't treat writing like some weird interest that got in the way of school. And I started writing and posting fanfiction when I was around 14 or 15.
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I'm pretty much in the boat of what you see is what you get. I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy and primarily write sci-fi and fantasy. Specifically, my subgenres could be specified as 'post-apocalypse' and 'urban fantasy' in such a way that they're pretty indistinguishable from each other. High fantasy counts as my guilty pleasure. My reading picks usually follow suit.
I guess the one place where I do split is romance. I tend to write a lot more romance than I read. Honestly, I'm not really a huge fan of reading romance...but I think that's a combination of me being incredibly picky on what I want in a romance and an over-saturation of the market that I'm not willing to put the work into to find exactly what I'm looking for.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I'm not really trying to emulate any one style or author. I believe it is important to read multiple authors and get an idea of what's out there--both classic and contemporary--but at the end of the day, I do want my own, distinct voice in my works.
That said, I was compared to Gaiman a few times in my creative writing courses in college. Current scandal aside, I still consider it to be a compliment. Funny too, given I've never read any of his works. Also, I list Ray Bradbury as my favorite author...so I'm sure that influences something.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
"Space" is a generous term.
I have a small Asus laptop that I use as a writing computer. It's tiny and portable and can go wherever, thus I write wherever. Primarily at home, I'm either in the living room sitting in the 15-to-20-year-old rocking chair I inherited from my parents or up in my bedroom, which has access to both a gray loveseat and my bed. There's nothing remarkable about either of these places really. My bedroom has some figures and odd knick-knacks, as well as the stuffed penguin and Eeyore pillow I hug or use as lap pillows.
I've also been known to break out the laptop in the break room at work, at my work desk, and at various Paneras/Starbucks/local cafes throughout the city. I like being malleable.
My home desk is currently in a large room filled with boxes, as we're still unpacking from buying a house. I imagine that once it's a little more filled, I'll be more likely to start writing at my desk again. I want to, it does have all of my fun things (figures, charms, the switchblade I bought at the Ren faire, the standee @gothamcityneedsme got of our OCs together), but for now the desktop is used for gaming almost exclusively.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Music 100%. Want me to write something? Give me a song, explain to me why it fits what you want me to write, and let me go for 2-3 days. I'll come back to you with something.
Also, not being able to write. Catch me daydreaming and plotting while I'm super busy at work. Nothing brings out a muse faster than 2 hours of mouse colony maintenance that I absolutely do not want to be doing.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
Hello, yes, I think way too much about this all the time. My answer to this could be a 5k essay on its own. I am restraining myself.
In late high school/early college, I did a turn-heel on all of the angsty and dark stuff I was roleplaying with my group at the time, and instead got really really into the concept of 'hope as spite.' Hope in the face of all the violence. Hope spitting on the cycles that came before you and promising to do better. That's remained true over the years since, and I think it's where I'm going to be remaining for the rest of my time.
My other biggest thing is probably themes regarding identity. I told my AP English teacher in high school my favorite rhetorical device was mirrors/reflections, and that's still true. Primarily, I really like the concepts of lost and rediscovered identities. Rebuilding yourself after a crisis and discovering what parts of you remain, what parts are gone, and what parts are new and forged in the fire that built you.
Other, more common themes include: intergenerational/familial tensions and trauma, martyr complexes, explorations of death, explorations on love (what is selfish vs selfless and how both are necessary), interplay of light and dark dynamics, and I could probably give a whole Ted Talk on why magical healing is terrifying, actually. Lately, chronic illnesses have been creeping into a lot of my characters as well.
Which is all to say, I think about my favored themes and rhetorical devices a lot. None of them really surprise me anymore. A part of you goes into every bit you write, I think, and those all are surely a part of me in some way, shape, or form.
What is your reason for writing?
If I do not, the urge will eat me alive. I'm mostly kidding, I write for fun and as an outlet and escape from day to day life. However, I have tried to quit multiple times and I always only felt worse at the prospect of never writing again.
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
Anything. Anything at all. Writing is an incredibly lonely venture most of the time, and as I said, I'm an rper at heart. If I get anything that signifies there is someone on the other side of the screen enjoying what I'm throwing into the void, it means the world.
That said, I guess the comments that motivate me the most are the ones that actually look and engage with what I've written. Ones that notice little thematics or rhetorical devices that I put into my work, or ones that like the characterizations that I've done (or the real way to my heart, like my OCs). It's something @gothamcityneedsme and I have been doing with each other with our own original stuff for years...so I kinda got used to that and completely forgot that it isn't the norm.
Also, I entered a zine server once after getting accepted and @aevallare informed me one of my application pieces made her feel things. Of course, she had something nice to say to every writer by way of being a sweet human, but it still floored my ass and, quite frankly, I've been chasing that high ever since. It helps on the bad days to remember someone of Alex's caliber found worth in my work...really puts the final nail in the coffin of the imposter syndrome. (And really, please go read her stuff. She's incredible.)
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
Approachable and honest and genuine. The former is the rper again. I want to talk, I do! I'm just a severely socially anxious mess who can't start a conversation and gets far too nervous about being a bother.
The latter is...well. Look, I'm well aware my writing isn't for everyone, and I don't necessarily want it to be. But I do want it to be honest and something I genuinely wanted to write and put into the world. I also want it to be honest in the sense that I fully believe the messages and emotions I'm trying to convey. A little piece of you goes into everything you write. I don't need everyone to accept or like what I write, but I hope the ones that do know that I mean it.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
Dogged perseverance. Outside forces, chronic illness, depression, and imposter syndrome have all attempted to get me to give up writing multiple times in my life. They've nearly succeeded more than once...but nothing has actually succeeded yet.
Also weird, philosophical character studies that no one actually wants, if we're going on a more technical "what's your best form of writing" route.
How do you feel about your own writing?
On the days where I'm trying to build confidence? It's the best thing ever. On the worst of the worst days? I'm one click away from deleting everything I've ever publicly posted.
In general, I'm in the middle. I'm a tiny fandom writer with minimal engagement and no intentions of publishing anytime soon (if ever). But I'm also having fun and I like what I write. That's enough...that's all it needs to be. It can be incredibly frustrating and demotivating at times for any number of reasons, but it's also some of the most fun I've ever had, and at this point I think it's safe to say that I'm never trading that in.
Love what kills you, and when it doesn't it'll make you stronger. Or something.

— CLOSED STARTER FOR @muutos, continued from HERE
faced with the question the blonde asks is like running head-first into a wall. she asks herself that quite a lot, actually. you're one of those types ? the hero, the martyr, the sacrificial lamb, the final girl ? you chose this ? chose to be the last thing this villain ever sees, the final nail in the coffin, the ending of all endings ? deliverance, revenge, penance. paying not for her own sins - she is, shockingly, pretty free of them, in comparison to the rest of everything around these parts - but for the sins of a man-shaped mark left on history, bloody and marred and wide open. his influence, his touch, is everywhere. even when charlie clasps hands with the other girl, she gets static shocked. just a flash, the briefest zap, her brain chalking it up to the dry air and the atmosphere. nothing is wrong with her, nothing is wrong with vanessa. a security guard and someone from day shift who really shouldn't be here after hours. really that simple. " unfortunately. " when she says it, it's wry, and yet, there's a small smile, pulling at one side of her mouth. " gotta have at least one of 'em around here. " not to say the other wasn't a hero, or the hero-type, but charlie chose to be this, and so this is what she will be.
there's two questions that follow. one is a lot easier to answer than the other, so she starts with the first. " yeah. course. " the flashlight couldn't have gotten very far, and there isn't much in the way of obstacles or things it could have rolled behind. planters and display standees and the mapbot not far off. as for the second, she takes a moment, registers the question but doesn't quite know why it's being asked. " i'm okay. just fell. " just like you. " landed on my bad shoulder. " it still THROBS, she can't focus on it or she'll start seeing white again. she might lose herself entirely to it, to the past, to animatronic teeth and the scent of fleshy rot. so, finally, she passes that question back to her. " are you okay ? " they both fell, after all, it's a legitimate question to ask.

Madame Tussaud's (Handcrafted)
These delightful little figures represent figures of another kind - wax ones!
The inspiration for these figs is the March 3, 2023 unveiling of Gong Jun's wax statue at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in Shanghai.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rumor has it that Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan both were scheduled to have wax figures on display at Madame Tussaud's. Perhaps in the future they can be there together.
In the meantime, I have them here in miniature fig form, looking as sweet as can be.
Tumblr media
These figs originally started off their life as keychains. Or ornaments, I guess. I saw them pop up as ready-to-purchase items in my favorite ultra-light clay artist's store, and I was so charmed by them I had to bring them home.
Tumblr media
This is my warehouse picture - I had to show this one off, because I thought it was utterly cute that the warehouse photographer put them right up against each other, even though they had the entire area to display them on.
Tumblr media
The very last thing I would ever do is use these figs as keychains, of course. Not only do have a million and one Junzhe and Wenzhou keychains already (anyone need any? I will literally send you one in a padded envelope, you can just message me an address and your style preference and I will immediately drop one in the mail to you). Plus, the first time I got a ding or scuff on on one I would be terribly distressed. Nope, I planned from the start to convert these into figs on stands.
Tumblr media
And here they are! Junjun is wearing his suit that he wore to the unveiling, and Zhehan is wearing the suit that the wax statue of Gong Jun is wearing. There's some thought among fans in China that they might have worn the same suits for the statue.
Tumblr media
I just pulled out the hook on top of their heads that was holding the keychain loop, and glued their little tiny feet to a standee. There was no way that they would stand up on their own, unfortunately.
Tumblr media
They are adorable. Their poses are really too wonderful - relaxed and elegant in the cutest chibi way!
Tumblr media
You can see just how small their little feet are - they were really not meant to stand! That being said, with the glue they do stand just fine.
Tumblr media
I love how she did their hair - we have Gong Jun's black hair with the higher volume up top (my favorite look on him!) and Zhehan with more brownish hair.
Tumblr media
Not too much to see from this angle - the white suits are beautiful, but fairly plain on the back.
Tumblr media
You can see the size difference here pretty well, with Gong Jun just slightly taller than Zhehan.
Tumblr media
So debonair! Their little profiles are just adorable.
Tumblr media
And we're back around! Please notice the hearts in their eyes, and the Wenzhou eye colors of blue for Zhehan and the sort of a maroon for Junjun.
Tumblr media
Their little smiles are just too charming!
Tumblr media
Their little feet! These figs are small, probably because they are meant to be keychains. A standard fig is generally anywhere around 8-10 cm. These measure around 5 cm.
Tumblr media
You can see here where there's little divots in their head from where I pulled out the hanging hook. I was able to slowly work Junjun's out, but for Zhehan I had to use a pliers to get enough of a grip on it to get it out. I was worried it might damage the head, but actually the ultra-light clay seemed to self-heal a bit. I'm really pleased how it turned out. Worse came to worse, I was just going to leave the loops in and let them dangle down the back of the fig, but I like this better.
If I ever make it out to Shanghai, Madame Tussaud's will be definitely be a stop on the itinerary!
Material: Ultra-light clay
Fig Count: 450
Scene Count: 30
Rating: Tiny and perfect!

Metanoia | ch. six
cw: bruises, guns, drvgs (don’t be surprised), s/a
word count: 1.6k
a.n. this one is angsty..
Back Table of Contents Next
Jin spends the following morning running over safety protocols while tending to my neck in his bathroom. Not once does he mention the events of last night. He's very focused on moving on. He only looks at my bruises, never my eyes that are staring directly at him.
He dabs a witch hazel soaked cotton ball on my neck. I hiss at the light sting.
"I'm supposed to be mad at you for what you said last night. JK's pissed," He warns, "I'm surprised he didn't kill you. Must like you enough to keep you alive."
"He's an arrogant asshole." I mumble.
"I know. We all know."
"Then why do you continue to work for him."
Jin squeezes some aloe vera on his forefinger and pats the gel on my neck.
"We'll die if we don't. And so will you."
I've really roped myself into some shit with agreeing to this. It's a suicide mission no matter what I do. But if I survive, my life could be everything I've dreamed of. I'm discovering that it's not worth the risk, but if I remember Tae, then I can persevere.
"That's the best I can get it for now. We have to heal it before we leave. So don't say anymore stupid shit," Jin says, "Today you're doing target practice with Lucas. It could take all day depending on how much you suck. You shouldn't run into JK today, there's a shipment coming in so he and Jennie will be busy with that."
"What about you?"
"Me? I gotta put your name on this guys guest list for the party he's hosting."
"Who is this man by the way? I'm being trained to kill him and I don't even know who he is."
Jin inhales a sharp breath and leans against the bathroom countertop.
"He goes by Agust D, nobody knows his real name. He comes from a long line of infamous druglords. He could quit right now and his great, great grandchildren can still be rich," Jin starts, "That's why JK wants his head. He started out as a dealer from age fifteen. Started killing his bosses, stealing their assets. Agust is just the next kill. The last one I assume."
"Is he scary?" I let a little bit of weakness show, I can't help it. If I were going to be vulnerable around anyone here it'd be Jin.
"Honestly, yeah. But his scary isn't as upfront as JK. JK will choke you half to death no hesitation. But Agust will entertain your views, play with you a bit before he snaps your neck. Kinda like you."
"Me?"
"Trust is your best weapon, right? You may notice your own game being played against you."
"That's terrifying." I admit.
"It doesn't have to be," He says as he leads me out of the bathroom and to the front door where Lucas is waiting, "It could be fun."
Lucas drives a low red sports car. I'm surprised his tall legs can fit since even I'm having trouble getting into the car. It races through the city until we get to this old, abandoned house. Only, when we get out and walk into the house, I discover that it's not abandoned.
It's dimly lit, but I can still make out that there are people counting money and packing all kinds of drugs. I recognize some, others I don't. I even spot Jennie, the pretty woman from last night, walking around the main floor and supervising.
"Hey, what're you doing here? You know JK's coming in today."
Fuck. Jin specifically told me that I wouldn't see him.
"We'll just be in the basement. Target practice." Lucas says.
"I'll try to keep him upstairs. But there's only so much I can do."
"Thanks, let's go, Jimin."
The basement is pretty dark too. I see two walls of countless guns and a table of knives. Lucas grabs two small hand guns and gives one to me.
"Have you ever shot a gun before?"
"No."
"Jesus... This'll take forever," He grimaces, "Okay, undo the top see if it's loaded."
I do as he says and it looks like all six bullets are in place.
"Now pop the safety latch," We both perform this, "Now you're ready."
He walks forward a bit more and clicks on another light that reveals human standees that already look mutilated beyond repair. Some with knives thrown at their legs others with holes directly through their skulls.
"Okay. Aim for the closest one. Aim anywhere on his body." Lucas instructs.
I point the gun at the standee and reposition a few times.
"Shoot." He shouts.
And I do, stepping back at the guns impact and watching the bullet graze the hand of the stand.
"Considering your target is the biggest druglord in Daegu, you need to be quick when you kill him," Lucas says, "So even if you don't know where you're shooting, you have to shoot or he'll shoot you first... Try again. This one."
I point the gun at the heart, align the target for a millisecond before shooting. It lands in the stomach.
"Better. Now try two shots in a row. One for the shock. One for the kill. That one in the second row."
I aim for the head and shoot. Then the throat. It's not perfectly centered but it's there.
"Plant your feet flat on the floor, shoulders width apart, like this," He shoots the same standee I shot, landing straight in the middle. "Try it."
And I do, taking a risk and going for the farthest one. One to the head, one to the throat. Right in the middle.
"Perfect," Lucas says, "Now let's do it a hundred more times."
We chuckle as he grabs more bullets to reload my gun. But we stop when we hear footsteps coming closer. I turn around to see JK and Jennie coming down the stairs. Jennie mouths the words "I'm sorry" then goes back upstairs.
"Ah, Lucas. Training the boy toy, I see." He says, hopping off the steps and walking towards us.
He looks different today than he did last night. Less animal print and notable textures, he wears solid cottons and loose pants. Something Taehyung might wear only more expensive.
"Yeah, he's gonna be a real threat by the end of this."
"Well I'd hope so," He sneers, "Leave us."
Lucas passes a glance at me and slips upstairs rather quickly, taking any oxygen that was left down here with him. I set the gun on the table before he has to ask me to.
"Man, I really hope I won't have to kill you."
"Why would you have to kill me?"
He chuckles in a hush tone that makes me shiver as he steps closer to me.
"There's a million reasons. Some as small as not liking your outfit. Or something as big as betraying my trust. Depends on the day."
I bite back a rude remark, saving my body the pain it may face from him.
"I wanted to kill you last night. But I figured hurting you would bring me more pleasure," He groaned, "Jimin, you were hot before, but with those bruises? Oh, you really turn me on."
He creeps closer and I shift backwards, keeping the space between us wide. I back into a wall and he meets me.
"I-I have a boyfriend." I stutter, making it sound like a white lie.
"I know. The sleepwalker? I bet he'll be dead before you make it back."
I want to strangle him. Just wrap my fingers around his throat and squeeze until he turns blue. Referring to my boyfriend as a sleepwalker?
"That's a low blow for a drug dealer, dontcha think?"
"I guess so. If he dies, I lose a customer." He smiles sickeningly, that fucking lip ring spinning in place.
"He is not your customer. He will never be."
"Oh yeah?" He asked rhetorically as he drew a small bag from his pocket. He held it in front of my face. Taehyung's name and our address was written on it. Only it's a bigger supply than we usually get. "You really don't know where it comes from?"
"He didn't order that much did he?" A panicked question comes out.
"Oh, of course not. He could never afford it. This is a little extra. A thank you, if you will, for letting his boy toy help me out."
I blink at the man. Taehyung shouldn't have that much without proper supervision, my supervision.
"Please don't. Send him money, food, even cigarettes. Just please, anything but heroin."
"I don't know, boy toy, he might need it after he finds out you cheated on him."
"But I didn't cheat on him."
JK snakes his hand around my neck again. This time his index finger and thumb work together to control my head. He doesn't choke me like last night, but rather holds me in place while his other hand traces my thigh. His hungry lips pounce on mine, hand tugging at my belt loops.
If I fight back I fear he'll hurt me even more. I remain unresponsive as he touches me. Maybe it'll stop sooner if I pretend it's not happening.
But when his hand curls around toward my back, I press up against the wall so he can't slip through. That's when he bites hard on my neck, causing me to buck up my hips toward him. He kisses deeper and I don't react. I hold my breath as he makes use of my lips.
"Yeah, you did." He smirks before letting go of me, letting me breathe again.
He walks away and up the stairs. Lucas comes down shortly after.
"Ready?" He asks, handing me my discarded hand gun from the table.
I nod quietly and aim for another far off standee. I shoot for the heart, pull the trigger six times until a hole is burned through.

christmas go brr
realized i have a startling lack of fandom stuff. (..and a stupid amount of hoodies for those i do get as a person who doesnt even wear hoodies that much.. oops.)
so. i. got. stuff. and im gonna show you. cause this blog is all for random stuff that i share that people probably wont care about but i dont care haha
The first thing that arrived. Basil keychain :DD
Tumblr media
I don't have an actual picture of it and i kind of cant cause i attached it to my phone. and its kind of hard to unlink it off? i have like one of those wallet phone cases and since its not meant to be an actual phone charm (as in, it'd probably have like a string you tie around a hole and boom?) i had to clip it around like the camera hole. which youre probably not meant to but i see a hole im taking it. i dont really use bags that often anyway
2. gojo keychain
Tumblr media
he was soldout when i first went to actually go buy it. but then it got restocked so yEAHH, arrived pretty fast imo. (theres a suguru one too)
..i. also. hanged it on my phone. but also it took a lot of careful maneuvering to get it in so i cant really be bothered to take it off. or even try to. very pretty, one of the sides glitter if you change the angle)
3. pjo decal stickers (well. hoo.)
Tumblr media
sorry about the light lmfao official image beacuse i dont really think mine does it justice is:
Tumblr media
i got like the hoo ones (or im pretty sure its hoo. gaea. prophecy. seven. its been a hot minute since ive thought about it)
and depending on which one you get, you can customize which cabin or roman god you get. i went with like pluto i think
you can also choose the color. very cool
last thing im waiting on are some vanitas earrings
Tumblr media
admittedly. i kind of have like a. sort. of. sensitivity towards mixed metals? something like that (i have no clue if its count as an allergy)
but i think its like a delayed reaction. and im too dumb to know the difference of whats good and what isnt?
basically. if it triggers anything. i can just wear it for short periods of time, no harm, cause otherwise itd be fine (i had another set of earrings that triggered something, but nothing actually happened until awhile later)
if anything, it'd be fun to attach it to something and still look nice
anyway. i should probably lay off on getting more keychains. but its either that or like standees of characters?? i dont use stickers that often, i dont use pins (i dont really use bags that often??), i dont wanna get stuff thats just gonna waste space so im just stuck here getting decorative stuff to attach onto things. aghh

AX ‘22 Con Report
I tabled at AX with my friend (no public social media) last weekend!! I’m sure most people saw tweets about how awful the artist alley conditions were lol... I’m doing this writeup mostly to reflect how sales went + for my own reference but I will also cover con organization, how it felt inside re:safety, masking, AX staff/volunteers. FYI this is very long as it’s a sort of blogging recap with lots of photos.
Here’s our booth! 👇
Tumblr media
Day 0:
Setup day! I forget what time Kentia Hall opened for setup but we got to the convention center at like... 4:45-5PM. Getting into the loading dock (a garage directly connected to Kentia) was pretty smooth, luckily since we arrived a little late there was no wait for other cars ahead of us. A con center staff (?) driving a forklift gave us a cart to put our boxes etc. on.
Tumblr media
We weren’t allowed to park our cars in the dock, so my table partner had to go repark her car after we wheeled our merch to the Kentia rear entrance.
Here’s what the loading dock looked like (this was from Day 4, so it’s pretty empty).
Tumblr media
Directly to the right is Kentia Hall.
Fortunately the staff at the Kentia entrance (between the loading dock and Kentia, normally closed during convention hours) was also doing COVID checks, so we got our COVID wristbands right off the bat. Setup took the entire 3 hours until 8PM. We didn’t finish either, but we got the basics set up (photo display stand for large prints, grids for charms/small merch). We just needed to add our side hanging prints (medium and mini prints) via a clamp-on side arm.
I don’t think AC was on, so we were kinda sweaty and also tired/hungry from the 6+ hour drive down.
Here’s our original setup; we decided to move the “window” to one side so there’d be no break in our display (easier for customers to see all our merch at once). This is because we didn’t evenly split mine vs. her merch LOL. Other artists often keep their own stuff on one side if they split a table. Also we had a plexiglass screen because we were paranoid about non-maskers breathing on us. Neither of us got COVID from the con so I like to think it worked!
Tumblr media
Day 1:
We tried to get to the con by 8:30 AM so we could get convention center parking and finish setting up before 10 AM (AA open) but there was a literal car accident + one that happened 30 feet from our car on the street leading to the parking garage 😑 My table partner had to drop me and our neighboring table (also part of our Airbnb) friend off on the street so we could walk the rest of the way inside lol.
We were both wary of customers stealing our display charms so we pinned our charms through the grids, then secured them on the back. We tugged on each charm to make sure they didn’t come loose.
Tumblr media
Here’s Anya, my best-selling charm (or about tied with my Jack Frost charm). My memey-themed merch sold the best lol (not a surprise for me). The pin was stuck in there unless you really yanked it. Also, we used black grids because the contrast really makes the charm colors pop more (vs. white or a corkboard). We got the idea from our friend who uses black canvases.
Some more pics of my merch (and our display in the background). You can see we had a Square payments sign + NO MASK NO SERVICE sign (we forgot to print one but the sticky note was enough). We used the top of the grids to display more 3D items like omanjuu plushies (we used two-tier displays from Daiso, inspired by Hinamatsuri displays), acrylic standees (a mini wooden bench from Daiso again), and my bargain bin (old charms) box. We tabled at Fanime in May and all our stuff was directly on the table, which was low and hard to see. Added height lets people see your merch from farther away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally I wish we displayed our stickers better but we kinda ran out of space. They’re not the main money makers anyways (charms and prints are) but oh well, they’re easy to ship/sell online.
And here’s what it looked like on the artists’ side:
Tumblr media
AX volunteer staff is pretty strict about making sure the walkway is clear. Every few tables had personal trash cans, though whether they were emptied or refilled with another plastic bag was kinda dependent on luck...? Most of the time we just had our own personal trash bag we brought and disposed of after closing each day.
Luckily the volunteer assigned to our strip was SUPER friendly and nice. She stopped by our table every day starting Day 2; she reminded us to eat and stay hydrated because another artist had passed out on Day 1. I think actually more than one artist passed out in AA during the entire weekend 🙃 CO2 levels were off the charts especially on Days 2 and 3.
I didn’t get a photo of the actual back of our display, but we had organizers inside our grids so we could store handfuls of charms for quick access. In the past we’ve just hunched over and dug through our giant luggages to find charms when customers asked for them, which REALLY takes a toll on you and your back. We finally learned this year 🤡✨ You can see it jutting out in this picture. You can also see my medium/mini prints hanging (all taped) from the side arm.
Tumblr media
We had an open box full of unorganized omanjuu plushies between our table and our neighboring table since we did a group order together. Most of the time I helped dig and grab them when customers wanted to buy them. It was kind of hard in the beginning because my table partner and I had 4 blonde characters LOL but we didn’t bother organizing them because they took up too much space and were too light (like packing peanut light) so they fell out of containers easily...
Tumblr media
I would say the only downside of our main display setup is that one person (me) is always hidden by the grids, while the other artist is stuck doing customer service. To talk to customers, I had to stand up on my toes to talk over the grids, and it was uncomfortable because I also had to avoid our large prints that were hanging directly behind my head (when I stood up).
Tumblr media
I think I generally had a more enjoyable time at Fanime because I was the one doing the majority of customer service, so I got to chat with customers more. AX I was mostly just... chilling... also there was no service and I couldn’t get onto the AA wifi because it was at capacity (people were sharing the password with their non-AA friends :) ).
This is also when we realized while the plexiglass kept us “safe” from people breathing on us directly, it was also REALLY HARD to hear people. Voices are already muffled with masks on, and cons are LOUD. The plexiglass was thick so we literally could not hear almost every single customer. We either had to ask them to speak up multiple times or we straight up asked them to talk over our grids so we could hear what they wanted to buy. The latter making the plexiglass useless...
It was also tougher on my partner’s back because she’s 6+ inches taller than me (and was wearing heels lol). For me I just had to stand up taller, for her she actually had to scrunch her back to dodge our prints.
Tumblr media
Here’s what it looked like from the Customer Service chair:
Tumblr media
Anyways Day 1 sales were slow... even compared to Fanime 1 month ago it felt pretty slow. Not a huge surprise since it’s Day 1, most people will browse AA on Friday and then make purchases later during the weekend UNLESS you’re a super popular artist and people want to get your stuff before things sell out. Unfortunately neither of us are at that level lol
Also here’s a photo of my luggage under the table. This was taken on Day 4 during takedown so it has all the manjuus poured inside LMFAO
Tumblr media
AC was either broken or on energy-saving mode (according to some staff?) this day so it felt like A SAUNA. It was humid and stifling. I was fanning my partner and my neighbor with an empty portfolio and shikishi board to help keep them cool. I didn’t feel terrible since my house doesn’t have AC (so I’m used to it) but it was NOT comfortable. This is the day that staff at the South Priority Entrance (for vendors, exhibitors, Artist Alley) apparently had miscommunicated instructions and were confiscating coffee, drinks, snacks, food from everyone. Luckily they hadn’t checked my bag when we got in in the morning, so I had snacks (KitKats, dried apples) and bottles of tea, but we didn’t eat lunch until 4PM (table partner and I split food truck fries).
Tumblr media
Maybe it was the hunger but these fries were so so so good lol.
Day 2
We expected to get the most sales on this day but sales were also really slow considering it was Saturday... My partner also has tabled at AX multiple times in the past, and she said sales were disappointing for her standards. We wondered if it’s because we were at the back of the hall.
I think my most popular mini print from Fanime (ACNH Timmy and Tommy going “Poggers!”) didn’t sell as well because it wasn’t directly in customers’ faces. At Fanime it was right above the seller’s “window” so while customers waited for me to grab inventory, their eyes would wander and immediately see it, then add it to their purchase. Or they’d see it front and center when they passed by the booth. This time we kept all smaller prints on the sides, so that may have impacted sales. It still sold the best out of all my prints though, but it didn’t sell out like it did at Fanime.
AA conditions-wise were better from Day 2 onwards, but it’s a fact that the AC is not strong in the back of the hall. It’s strongest at the entrance. I did fan myself during Days 2-4, Day 4 was the most pleasant because crowds were much smaller lol. Trying to get through or leave AA on Days 2-3 were a nightmare because of how jampacked the aisles were. Usually I would walk through the artist walkways just so I could avoid the crowds (at least 30% of whom were unmasked 🙃). Honestly it’s a miracle I didn’t get COVID considering how many bare faces I saw!!!!!! After attending Fanime, where it was like 99% mask policy adherence, AX crowds gave me hives... I take Norcal Bay Area masking for granted...
I think...? Because CO2 levels were so potent, I didn’t feel productive or want to draw commissions. At Fanime I took over 30 commissions across 3 days, like I was pumping them out every 20-30 minutes. At AX on Day 2 I took down my commission display and didn’t bother putting it back up until the next day because I just wasn’t in the mood. And it didn’t have anything to do with how much sleep I got (or lack thereof), I was not sleeping well during Fanime either lol. But 🤷‍♀️ who knows. Luckily I didn’t experience nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or headaches like other artists did. My table partner complained of headaches but she also does require more sleep than I do.
Day 3
Sales were the best on this day! By this point I realized I didn’t really draw enough popular series, but ngl I don’t care much about drawing popular things just for sales. My partner’s Luxiem/VTuber merch was selling like hotcakes.
Okay I’ll just speed through the rest lol
Day 4
I was hoping for a lot of last minute sales on this day but it was kind of slow. Overall AX this year was fairly slow for a lot of artists; I talked about it with other artists and friends who were tabling and we all agreed our sales were lower than we’d anticipated. Like we did well but it wasn’t as high as we wanted; we definitely ordered more stock than we needed to.
AA closed at 3PM, and we were hoping to finish takedown by 5PM. Unfortunately after we’d packed everything up + my partner had helped pack away some of her out of state friend’s boxes into her car... things got really disorganized and confusing.
So my friend had parked in the Venice Parking Garage which is directly across the street from Kentia Hall/the south side of the convention center. The street between the two buildings was filled with cars and PARKED trucks. So normal cars that were exiting the garage were stuck and couldn’t move. No AX staff bothered to explain to these cars that the trucks were Exhibitor’s Hall trucks, and they were parked and waiting for the corporate vendors to bring their stuff down. My friend was stuck on that street for like... 15-20 minutes I want to say. I was stuck in a pretty much empty AA at 6:30PM with way too much stuff for one person to carry. The loading dock that I mentioned earlier in the post was also blocked off.
I briefly went outside to take pics of the street outside the loading dock (the street that my friend was trying to turn onto, so that we could pack our belongings) so I could show her what the holdup was:
Tumblr media
All the trucks and cars in the middle/left lanes were parked. Driver-less. lol.
Tumblr media
These were cars trying to exit the South Parking Garage (directly inside the con center).
After I sent these pictures to my friend I ran back inside AA, noticed a forklift had kinda haphazardly discarded/dropped two rolling “carts” at the end of the aisle, and realized I was gonna have to grab one and put all our stuff on it if I wanted to move our belongings relatively quickly. These didn’t have handles, just a legit rope tied to it that you had to pull LOL
I felt kinda bad because there was an artist who had been sitting at her table for hours by herself, literally SURROUNDED by luggages. We started talking and it turns out she was confused because her boyfriend was in the same situation as my partner, stuck trying to get out of the parking garage. I told her she should grab one of the rolling carts to start loading her stuff too, since there were two that had been left a couple tables away from us. I didn’t wanna wait for a forklift because we had dinner plans lol.
Once I managed to wheel our stuff outside, I was still pretty lost on what to do, because my friend was around the corner and as versatile as the “cart” was, it could not go over curbs. Under the platform, there were two little mini wheel things on each end. They were not affixed so our stuff actually fell off when I tried to go up one curb (it was smooth but I made too sharp of a turn). Just imagine these things but more industrial looking
Tumblr media
Two of these under the platform here 👇 on both ends
Tumblr media
Another artist who was loading their car asked me if I needed help and I said I wasn’t sure since my friend was stuck on another street (literally like.... 200 feet away). They were kind enough to explain the situation, so I relayed it to my friend via Discord (basically, talk to one of the security people, explain that you’re an artist and not exhibitor’s hall vendor, and they’ll wave you through).
So yeah this was a pain in the ass and very disorganized but at least we made it to dinner on time-ish...
Now on to general sales stuff:
Neither of my partner and I sold that many large prints, which was disappointing because 1) large prints are HEAVY and a pain to carry back home, 2) usually she sells a lot of them; large prints are good money-makers because the margins on them are really good. Of my prints I expected my Tokyo Mew Mew and Ib prints to sell the best, but disappointingly I only got 1 buyer for my TMM print 😕 It’s a little disheartening because it’s a nostalgia print, I put the most effort into it, and the reboot anime is now airing... but I guess AX was a few days too early, or I didn’t have it up front and center. I ordered 25 of them, definitely ordered too many.
Meanwhile my Power and Meowy print sold the best (14-15 sales, I ordered 20 which was a good amount). Which is funny because I put the least amount of effort into it; I literally was speed-shading her shirt at 4AM on a workday because the print order deadline was that morning. It was also an “eh this sketch can be a simple large print, let’s bank on Power’s popularity for this to do well” and it did! 🙏 What is a little weird is my partner’s Makima print didn’t do as well as she expected. She said she sold a lot of them at ALA earlier this year... I noticed my mini Makima print also didn’t do that well (I got like 4 sales). I’d wonder if it’s because Makima is controversial but people were buying my Makima charm (more people got my Power charm though).
My second-best selling print was Ib (7-8 sales, ordered 20)! I got more buyers for it on Day 1 and 3 iirc. I was pleasantly surprised because like the Power and Meowy one I was literally rush-coloring parts of it the morning of the deadline. Like actually it made me late to work lol. It’s actually unfinished 🙈 but it’s okay no one knows that...  I didn’t sell any of my P4 large print but that was to be expected because it was a last minute decision to print it; it’s old.
Tumblr media
Charm-wise my Anya and Jack Frost “I’m gonna kill you” sold the best by far. I think in general, memey merch sells really well since people think it’s funny and want to show it off to their friends. So if all else fails, make some memey merch to ensure sales ^___^..... Surprisingly, people were not buying my partner’s SpyxFamily charms though, even though we placed our SpyxFam stuff right next to each other. It’s probably because her charms were huge, like 3 inch long/wide Christmas ornament size. It’s a shame because they came out super cute and had a cool transparent effect... But yeah, a lot of people bought my Anyas or the entire family set. I had two customers ask for 3-4 Anyas in one purchase which made me o_o LOL. I think it’s because I drew Anya’s iconic smug face on one side.
A couple Dimileth people came out of the woodworks to buy my Dimitris which made me happy... also what surprised me was that NO ONE bought my Felix charm, whereas he was my most popular charm at Fanime. Really goes to show how demographics differ depending on the con. Most people bought Hilda and Hubert at AX... these are also my slightly messed up charms from a second charm order in early 2020, right at the start of the pandemic (so the manufacturer messed up on clasps and print quality was inconsistent). So I really wasn’t expecting to sell any of them lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another disappointment: I don’t think I sold a single lollipop charm all weekend... and I really expected them to sell well :\ I checked in with our table neighbor and she said only her Anya lollipop was selling, the rest of them weren’t getting bought at all. We found this kind of weird since lollipop charms aren’t super common yet, so we expected they’d do better LOL.
Bad photo of some of the lollipops:
Tumblr media
On the flipside my partner’s candy bag charms were selling like crazy, but then again they were all Luxiem streamers so... her Gojo/Geto candy bag didn’t sell well. Probably because the ship hasn’t really come up in the anime yet.
All in all it was a pretty good weekend, I profited a bit over $1k after expenses (Airbnb, gas, parking, merch production costs, badge and table fee). This doesn’t include some tabling gear because my friend and I split (she bought the grids, the pins and their holders, the plexiglass, we borrowed a friend’s side arm thing, the display things I bought were all cheap minus the $50 main display stand).
Honestly that’s pretty low in comparison to all my artist friends who table at 3-5 cons per year, but I table really casually (this is just for fun) and I do more online shop selling, so I’m not too disappointed. I also didn’t draw any Genshin, didn’t have any SpyxFamily-heavy inventory besides a couple charms, didn’t have any VTubers, etc. etc... so I can’t complain about not making a ton of money. We were also tabled super far back, so we didn’t get nearly as much foot traffic as some other friends. HOWEVER we both avoided getting COVID so maybe our table location was a blessing. Based on an unofficial spreadsheet artists have been updating wrt symptoms and test results, there were positive clusters near the entrance (though people tested positive pretty much everywhere in the AA, including a table across from us).
To conclude, I hate LA and traveling to cons is more tiring than it’s worth personally, so I think I’m gonna stick to local conventions from now on. I am a tired introvert lol. I think Airbnb-ing with 8 people (all of us have dodged COVID miraculously) would have been more fun if I was still in college, alas I am now a few years out of school and very sleepy/prefer to keep to myself usually. I had way more fun at Fanime (I drove in every morning) and also didn’t constantly fear I was getting infected with COVID each day there... also didn’t witness a car accident every single day of the con... could relax at home and not worry about forgetting to pack something...
I hope this was useful or interesting to read if you made it this far  d( > _・ ) If you have any questions feel free to hit my ask box, though I can’t answer much about merch production because I did group orders via friends and some prefer not to share their manus.

Style Guide : Xiao Zhan
Zhan Zhan’s style evolution from the cute and warm boy next door to a Top Entertainer. from his trending airport fashion, designer bags and transition to streetwear— here is his story.
I originally wanted to include stuff from his university days but settled on when he started on c-ent. It’s not secret that he was popular in his University and is a fan of designer brands from the start. I will also use airport photos before the ban. for the clothes after, I will just post the picture of what he wore.
I. XFIRE & Idol career
He initially started as a contestant in survival show called x-fire where people saw him as this warm guy who had a really good voice. Once he debuted as part of XNINE, more and more people started noticing him. His unique style that leans more on Japanese chic is what makes him a favorite of fans to photograph in the Airport.
Tumblr media
You will see videos of him talking to fans who are there and visiting. You would not think he is as tall he is when you look at his photos. With X-NINE, he blended well with the concepts they have and it’s not as drastic as how KPOP acts do it. He still preserved the quiet and gentle image.
II. Life as an Actor
Xiao Zhan was still promoting with XNINE when he started being active in Dramas. Including the Wolf, that made him decide he wants to be an Actor.
Around this time, he also started shooting the Untamed. His style pretty much remained the same. With his soft and oversized cardigans. However, we get glimpses of him starting to use streetwear. And definitely darker colors.
Tumblr media
III. Rising Star
In 2019 and with the Untamed making him a household name— his style has transitioned into a less complicated one. He still had the quirky tops from time to time but his general style has moved into street. I don’t think he ever had an interview where he addressed this and why he changed. One thing is, this makes him less recognizable by people.
Tumblr media
In events, he always stuns with high end brands that he partners with. You can also notice that his style has a more matured edge to it. A top actor who is confident who he is and it just make the clothes match him so much better.
Tumblr media
IV. Spotlight
After the ban of airport photos and anything outside of his live events— he still continues to carry himself with the same style. oftentimes with a cap and his mask on, completely covering his face. He also preferred baggy pants and nike shoes.
In his rehearsal pictures, the same style is also seen.
Tumblr media
HIS STYLE QUIRKS.
1. Oversized cardigans - This is his signature style especially in the early days. It’s impossible to not search for him and not see these moments. In his interviews, he is always asked about this type of style and how achieves it. He countered saying that just use clothes that are comfortable to you. Yeah, those big cardigans really look soft and comfy.
Tumblr media
One other thing is that he became really know for a few that he wore at that time. They either get sold out or someone makes knock offs.
2. Eyeglasses - This is more of a necessity than a fashion statement for him but he looks good on them anyway. it adds something special & it just adds to his charm.
3. Stuffed toys - Aaaahhhh! The ones he carries with him at airports. Who can forget? He even accepts ones given by fans and carries it with him. He stopped doing this in 2019 onwards but it’s still nice to reminisce.
Tumblr media
4. Bags - Men usually don’t pay that much attention to bags. Just one or two that they use regularly, but it’s different for Xiao Zhan. In one interview, he said that it’s a good accessory. from backpacks, slings and really small ones— he uses it. The Tod’s bag from his shanghai vlog? Sold out so quick.
Tumblr media
5. Red bracelet - This one is actually not a fashion statement. GG started wearing this bracelet that his mom made for him in 2015. Since it was his year, he was told to wear it and so he followed. We know how superstitious he is and so it’s not a surprise to see him wear something that is supposed to keep bad things away. This gained more attention to fans when he was seen wearing it in his appearance after the 2*7 fiasco. KXZ, a brand he endorses even popularized it by allowing fans to put red bracelets on his standees in stores. To this day, you can still see him wearing it in his personal time.
Tumblr media
TOP BRANDS HE LOVES THE MOST.
1. Gucci - The real leader of the Gucci Gang. If he wears something, the first thing that comes to mind is Gucci. No matter how generic it is, like some baggy jeans or simple shirt— it’s gotta be Gucci. both as a personal preference and what he wears in events. Gucci even invited him for their 2019 fashion week.
Tumblr media
2. Balenciaga - I am adding it here because of his iconic balenciaga cap. He wears it frequently and has been associated with it.
Tumblr media
3. Nike - I mean, who doesn’t love Nike. Especially Air Jordans. He’s been seen wearing the same pairs multiple times. In 2019, he was even seen wearing a pair of that much coveted paranoise shoes.
Tumblr media
4. Off white - Is a streetwear brand is based in Milan. The name of the brand is defined as the grey colour zone in between black and white. They collaborated with a lot of other brands & cater more to the millennial generation. Xiao Zhan has been seen wearing this brand frequently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Stussy - is a brand that started from the surf scene in California. They have a store opened in Shanghai and has a special collection dedicated to it. Xiao Zhan has been seen wearing it since 2016 at the earliest during his off time.
That’s it for Xiao Zhan. I would like to add that it’s really exciting to see what he will wear next, especially in events. In his track record, he prefers Gucci, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Balmain.<3

Conversion Corner: Various Gaming Races part 3
Koopa
When it comes to game plots and lore, few franchises are more allergic to complex overarching narratives and consistent lore than the Mario franchise. From every Mario RPG franchise being sucked dry of creativity after the third game, to entire scrapped plots like how Galaxy 2 was actually supposed to have narrative connection to the first game instead of pretending it never happened, it’s enough to make longtime fans long for something the franchise is missing.
The reason why things are this way is because, as a mascot character, Mario emulate a certain cartoon mouse most of the time by having the personality of a soggy but nevertheless generically goodhearted and heroic cardboard standee, the reason being that it allows such mascot characters to be in pretty much any sort of scenario without any baggage weighing them down. Miyamoto himself has said many times that he thinks of the ensemble of the franchise as stage characters acting out any story they come up with, rather than more narrative-rich characters, to the point where Mario 3 literally had a theater stage aesthetic throughout the whole game. (Leading to certain insufferable game theorists trying to milk a narrative out of that by saying that Mario and company are ACTUALLY actors, but I digress)
The point is, Super Mario simply cannot have a complex narrative as it is now. The lore only matters in the games it shows up in, the map is even more inconsistent than in the Legend of Zelda, and there straight up just isn’t a history to any of the locations in the non-RPG titles.
So why the devil did I decide converting one of the most common recurring enemy types into a playable race would be a good idea?
Simply put, I wanted to simultaneously challenge myself, while also partaking in the Sisyphean task of applying headcanons to this beloved franchise.
In any case, Koopas are humanoid turtles that come in a large variety of subspecies, many of which barely resemble terrapins at all anymore due to their specialized bodies, such as Chargin’ Chucks, Boom Boom and their kin, Lakitus, and the like, as well as the semi-draconic Royal koopa lineage of which Bowser, his son, and the Koopalings belong.
However, today we will be focusing on the standard Koopa Troopa, which have plenty of variety among them, including permanent or magically induced temporary feathered wings, mastery of magic, specialized brotherhoods that master a particular weapon or attack such as the Hammer Bros., and so on.
Physiologically, many koopas have a forward-leaning posture, and some even move about on all fours, particularly in places where footing is treacherous (i.e., the early platformers of the series and the planetoids of the Galaxy series). This says to me that their evolution to become bipedal happened much later than humans and other bipedal species in the same franchise, though still far enough in the distant past as to not matter.
The most iconic physical trait of the species, however, is their armored shells, which not only offer protection, but also have a slick, low-friction exterior which means that when retracted into their shell, they can build up tremendous speed and momentum when sliding, making them deadly weapons, though this can often be used against them when they are in large groups of allies.
Culturally, koopas seem to be both loyal and obedient, but also either having a love of mayhem, a need to raid for resources when living in blasted lands, or perhaps a chip on their shoulders about how they are treated by other species, though of course we have nothing really concrete on that. However, they are not all villains, and indeed many koopas live peaceful lives, including forming communities well within the Mushroom Kingdom, living in harmony with their toad neighbors.
 Koopa Troopa Racial Traits
Ability Score Adjustments: +2 Con, +2 Int, -2 Dex. Koopa Troopas are tough and clever, but can be somewhat clumsy.
Size: Koopa Troopas are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty on combat maneuver checks and to their Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Type: Koopa Troopas are humanoids of the koopa subtype
Slow Speed: Koopa Troopas have a base speed of 20 feet
Shell: Koopa Troopas have a hard, dense shell that grants them a +2 natural armor bonus to AC. By retracting their limbs as a standard action, this natural armor bonus increases to +4. However, the koopa troopa cannot take any actions in this state other than to end it as a standard action.
Sliding Shell: A Koopa Troopa that is currently inside their shell that is subjected to a melee attack that deals bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage, or otherwise subjects them to physical force, (including being thrown or bull-rushed) may choose to begin sliding away at the end of the round, travelling 30 ft. in the opposite direction of the source of the attack. If they hit a wall or creature before that 30 ft. is expended, the koopa troopa picks a direction and expends the rest of the movement sliding in this new direction. If the koopa troopa hits a creature this way, they make a melee attack against that creature that deals 1d6 points of damage. A creature that is struck repeatedly by the sliding shell may receive multiple attacks against it this way. During their turn, the koopa troopa may end their retracted state to stop sliding as normal, otherwise they continue sliding at the end of the round in either the same direction or in a new direction opposite of the last source of damage that struck them.
Stable Stance: A koopa troopa can shift to all fours or back as a free action once per turn, granting them a +4 to CMD and Reflex saves to avoid being tripped or falling prone. However, they cannot effectively wield or use two-handed objects, or wield two one-handed objects while in this state. For example, if a koopa is equipped with a shield and a one-handed weapon, they could either gain the benefits of the shield, or be able to use the weapon, but not both at once while in this stance.
If I expanded on this race, I think I’d include some racial feats for improving the power of the sliding shell ability.

Hi silver, I saw your amazing collection of Cloud & Tifa figures. as I'm just looking into getting like one or two myself (at least to start with), I was wondering if you have a recommendation? I've been looking at the trading arts remake figurines, do they look good in person?
I think you have to decide what type of collection you want first off because some of this stuff is expensive af and if you try and collect it all you'll just end up frustrated and poor lol
There's all types of standees both official and fan made, there's Kai arts, trading arts and statuettes. The most expensive stuff is the play arts Kai and cold cast statuettes of OG Cloud and Tifa. The remake play arts Kai I wouldn't recommend getting off third parties cause you could end up with ver 1 of Cloud and Tifa and his design is a bit meh and the face on hers shouldn't have even passed QC and there's been a lot of complaints about it.
I'm not massively keen on Kai arts cause of how the joints look, so I knew I ruled them out aside from Tifa's OG model cause her face is super cute. I liked the minis so that's where I started, and I mostly went through eBay for everything. Some of my ultis I got off cdjapan.co.jp and they have pretty decent shipping prices. My lamps came from
My cloti watertower pin came from
And my cloti license plate came from
For remake merch it's good to check the official store before buying off third parties cause they may have a discount or just be the cheapest. I got my statuette of remake Cloud from SE direct while on eBay it's selling for at least £10 more.
Older merch is gonna be more because it's no longer being made. AC play arts Kai are pretty cheap. Boxed is worth more than unboxed but if you don't plan on reselling then as long as it's in good condition go for unboxed. My Bandai knights box is super damaged but the figures are good and that compromise saved me about £30
Boxsets are always better than singles if you can get them, but it really comes down to the gut test. Like, I like Tifa's official remake pin, but I haven't bought one because I don't really want it and I'd only be buying it cause it's Tifa's. There's sets of all the remake trading minis available still for about £50 so I wouldn't pay more than that.
The remake trading arts look pretty good. Most of the ones I have look good and there's only one of Cloud's trading arts I wouldn't recommend cause it looks awful
Tumblr media
But Tifa's for that set looks cute af ❤️
The other one that's a bit rubbish is Cloud's Bandai knight cause he's super white like he got dunked in bleach but he's poseable so that equals out.
The ones I think look the best are the heroines set which is Tifa, Yuna, Garnet, Rikku and Selphie, Tifa's trading art, the play art mini Kai's have changeable faces and poses too, Tifa and Cloud's remake standees are a bit small, but they're on SE and cheap, and Cloud's remake statuette is the absolute best and I can't wait for my Tifa one to arrive to match him ❤️
If you're not fussy which characters you have or like multiple FF games then the mini trading arts have a lot to offer. I only have two sets but there's characters from pretty much all the games. Definitely compare prices haggle whenever you can. I leave stuff on watch and sometimes sellers offer discounts too 😁

Nothing Else Matters - San
Member: San Genre: Fluff Word count: .. idk just not as long as my usuals i think.  Requested: No Content: San’s birthday. His love for cats is endearing. Choi San best boy. Note: tbh, this didn’t really have much direction, i just really want that boy to be a lil spoiled and feel loved. Repeat after me: Choi San Best Boy.
San already knew that you couldn’t spend the entire day with him. That was perfectly fine with him, both of you had responsibilities. You juggling work and studies, him with his idol life. You did promise that you’ll have the night free for him, just meet you at the cafe you worked for.
That’s why he’s outside of a coffee shop that had a cute animated cat standee by the door. He had already told you that he’s just outside, waiting to be greeted by you whom he considers his rock.
“San! Come in.” You call out, a smile lighting up your worn features. You opened the door wider for him, urging him to come in. The look on your face left no room for the male to complain and so he enters the place quickly and looks around.
“So pretty.” He said, bright eyes scouring the environment. Come to think of it, he never knew where you worked. You always told him that you work at a cafe, just not really saying much as to how it is. The place was well lit, spacious, with only a few tables here and there. He did notice the rattan posts, the platforms perched high on the ceilings and what looked like a few cat toys still waiting to be packed away.
You let him sit on one of the nearest tables, letting him think that you were just cleaning up for the night. It was oddly easier than you thought as he busies himself with his phone, itching to get out of the place to spend time with you.
A soft mewl falls on his ears and he immediately looks around. He looks down and there he spots a young Russian shorthair bumping his head against his leg. “Holy shit.” He mumbles, suddenly running on adrenaline and excitement at the sight of the feline. Three more cats come over to inspect him, all of which were different breeds. A soft squeal escapes his lips. “Babe?” He calls for you, unsure of how to act-- well he did, he wanted to cuddle all of them but he wasn’t sure if that was the right choice. You come out from behind the counter, a slice of purple frosted chocolate cake and a cup of iced americano on your hands. You softly sing him a happy birthday.
His dimples come out at the sight of you singing with the cake and cats that still pester him for head scratches. “Babe..” he breathes out, unable to say anything else. He stands up slowly to help you settle the food on the table. Already a Scottish fold has snatched his seat, to which San makes a high pitched sound. You weren’t sure if it was one of annoyance or of endearment. Probably both.
“So this entire time, you work in a cat cafe and never told me?” He says as he sits on the free seat next to the cat. You seat across him, the Russian shorthair now nestling himself on your lap.
“Before I answer, make a wish and blow out the candle birthday boy.” You muse, endeared by the sight of him playing with the Scottish fold who had taken an interest with his fingers. He does as he’s told. He stops for a moment, then blows the candle out.
“Now answer meee!”
“I do. Been working here even before we met. Also yes, I kept it a secret. How else could I have gotten that look on your face when Nini butt his head against your leg?”
His eyes widen, the small bit of cake stopping midway from his mouth. “You saw that?”
You opt to answer his question with a video taken from the counter. His raised eyebrows, a soft squeak slipping from his lips along with his sudden frantic shaking of his fists. He only looks at a few seconds before covering your screen. His embarrassment causes you to laugh as you keep your phone away. “I wasn’t sure honestly of what to give you so I figured it would be good to have you visit the cafe and meet some of the babies.”
“Oh my god, you call them babies.” His heart was already melting.
“Are they not? Yuni’s already asking for more head scratches, babe.” You remind him, as the Scottish fold paws at his arm. He takes a big bite out of the cake then gently runs his fingers against the head of the small feline, before he opts to settle himself on his lap. It takes everything in San not to squeal at the action.
“What about the other two? What’s their names?”
“The munchkin’s name is Mars.--”
“Seonghwa-hyung.. oh my god.”
You really couldn’t believe that your own boyfriend is pretty much short circuiting at the sight of the cats. Well, you could. The amount of time he sends you photos and videos of cats he finds online was already a giveaway. “Yeah, just like Seonghwa, heh. While the shorthair’s Miru.” You continue to introduce the four cats that have settled around you until he finished his cake.
It didn’t take long to clean up the place, along with making sure the cats were back in their sleeping abodes. Once everything is accounted for, you lock the place up for the night. “How was your day, birthday boy?” You ask as the both of you head back home.
The male starts to recount his entire day, starting with the V-live, practices, and the boys giving him a few gifts. Overall, he admits that today was a day where he really felt loved and appreciated.
“I kind of got you something too..” You admit, now a little self-conscious. From what he said, the gifts from the boys were all out of your budget. It was a struggle to find him the perfect gift.
“Still? I thought it was only the cat cafe, babe!” He says, wearing the same comical shock from earlier. You kick off your shoes as you enter the living room with a chuckle.
“It’s on your dresser. I’ll just go shower okay?” Just like earlier, you don’t give him a chance to fight back, already making your way towards the bathroom.
With a pout, he does as he’s told. There was no other choice really but to do as you say and look for part two to your gifts. He sees a clean white envelope on his dresser with his name written with your distinct penmanship. Curiosity got the better of him so he opens the envelope and out comes a two page letter.
‘If you’re reading this, that means I’m not in the room because I’m a little embarrassed.
Anyways, happy birthday to the mountain that shines brightly, Choi San!...’
He takes his time reading through your heartfelt letter, finding his eyes water up with emotion. He really found himself thinking of you as his home and strength. You never failed to remind him that you were just a normal person who only happened to luck out in loving him. He thought otherwise. You weren’t just normal in his eyes. You were extraordinary to him. The way you loved endlessly, worked diligently, and stood for your own morals. You were the reason he is what he is now, and the same for him to you.
You come out of the shower in your sleepwear, a towel resting over your shoulders when you’re greeted by the sight of San trying his best not cry. “Babe?” He jumps from his spot and looks at you with eyes that shine with unshed tears. Without any other word, he makes his way to you, wrapping you in a hug that could express what words couldn’t.
“Thank you.” He says simply, brushing his lips that faintly taste of coffee and cake, against yours.
“I tried my best, babe. It’s not easy finding a gift for someone who already has everything. Happy birthday again, love.” You admit with a light joke.
“As long as I have you by my side, nothing else matters.”

My Hero Academia Episode 86 “Let it Flow School Festival”
mysterylover123

Tumblr media
YAS WEIRD FANS CHEER FOR MOMO SHE IS YOUR SUPREME GOD (WHATRE THEY GONNA PLAY WHATS IT GONNA BE?!)
Tumblr media
LOL
Tumblr media
Dammit its some song I don’t know. I was really hoping it’d be one of the OPs or EDs. Or like the new Electric Rock version of Might U, like YSR being like “This isn’t even my final form.” Oh well. A girl can dream.
Tumblr media
MAJOR THEME DRINKING GAME CONT W/ JIROU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
x3! Doing stuff for others! OMG I love this series so much.
Tumblr media
You know, most of my family are music types like Jirou, so when I read this part in the manga, it made me tear up. It’s so freaking touching and interesting to think about. (Also is there a reason Jirou mom looks and acts like Momo?)
Tumblr media
Yay Uraraka got to do something!
Tumblr media
This. Right here. This is why we need/love MHA. Because helping an abused little girl smile is worth devoting 14 chapters/6 episodes of time to.
Tumblr media
Though as much as I love seeing Eri smile, I’ll admit seeing Bakugou smiling so much this season/arc hits me too. In a similar way. Cause both Eri and Kacchan were kidnapped by villains and cried/traumatized by it, after all. (and Shoto was also abused by dad. Eri Shoto and Kacchan really need to start a “I was abused by assholes but then Deku saved me and made me happy again” club.)
Tumblr media
Ah man i was hoping they’d come up with more stuff for Class B’s play! But oh well, who wants filler anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The world needs BNHA.
Tumblr media
YAS BAKUGOU. BE HAPPY FOR ONCE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You know what Miss Congeniality was missing?” Horikoshi apparently thought. “Martial arts, giant tanks and air dancing.”
Tumblr media
And also more cute girlfriends cheering you on.
Tumblr media
At first I thought this was supposed to be Kendo’s Commercial Fan, from the manga...but nope it’s just Monoma.
Tumblr media
This little having  fun montage is so amazing and sweet. Todoroki’s serious Face sticking out of this standee is the icing on the cake.
Tumblr media
OMG DEKU’S POOR ELBOW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They need to double date.
Tumblr media
Maybe triple with Nejire/Yuyu.
Tumblr media
When Kaminari met Shinso. (Fans have taken to shipping them pretty intensely after a certain story arc, so it’s funny to see them meeting here.)
Tumblr media
Yep. Go on injecting that wholesomeness straight into my veins.
Tumblr media
And with that the Culture Fest arc is a wrap! Wow, they didn’t pad that out with anything at all, did they? No filler, no slow pacing. Just shot straight through the entire arc. Now that it’s over, though, what’re they planning to do in the last 2 episodes of Season 4?! No way they can get through the Pro Hero Arc in just 2 episodes, short as it may be. Are they planning on doing filler?
Tumblr media
Nope! the trailer says. Next episode we’re jumping right into that Pro Hero arc! Which either means we’ll drag out the first few chapters, or we’re gonna end season 4 (MANGA STUFF) right smack dab in the middle of EndeavorHawks vs High End. Um. OK. You do you I guess.
So that’s the end of the Culture Festival Arc! While I wish they’d picked a song I knew, gotta say it was fun to see. And to repeat as ever, that I love BNHA, and this arc is lovely. It’s great to spend some time on the MCs having fun, and emphasizing the importance of making Eri happy.
I don’t mean to get “of the times”, but I gotta say right now I really wish we could have something like this...a small, contained event of fun. All the paranoia and fear floating around right now, with everything getting cancelled, reminds me of the atmosphere  these days...Villains, viruses, either way. Stuff gets cancelled and the world gets scared. And a little controlled event like this, like BNHA’s culture festival arc, with the proper security measures taken, could be just the ticket. Ah well. For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with watching BNHA, and letting it as always put that smile on our faces.
NEXT EP: THE PRO HERO ARC BEGINS APPARENTLY.

Phobia Factor |Total Drama Island|
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Duncan helps you with your fear of confined places on Phobia Factor.
Pairing: Duncan x Reader
Warnings: None
Words: 2.8K
The screaming gophers team members walked towards your team, who were all still feeling the loss of the challenge. Courtney took a stand and confronted them on them being here, thinking they were here to gloat. They tried to play it off as being nice by offering dessert but in reality, they were just out here to air out their cabin. Which Owen, their teammate, had stunk up with his disgusting gas fumes. Beth walked up to Courtney, showing her that they, however, really did bring dessert for them. She held a plate of green gelatin in front of Courtney's face, making her yelp and take a few steps back.
"No! I mean, no thanks. I'm good," She said calmly, trying to play off her disgust.
"What, are you on a diet or something?" Duncan asked.
"No, I just don’t like green jelly, okay," She replied,
Beth shrugged her shoulders and moved onto the other "campers", sticking the plate right in front of DJ's face. DJ shrieked when he saw the gummy worm inside, thinking it to be a snake and smacking the plate out of Beth's hands. It landed right by Cody's feet and he picked up the candy worm inside of it, showing that it's just candy and not an actual snake.
"Sorry for tripping, snakes just freak me out," DJ explained.
Tyler patted DJ's back as he sympathized on his fear. "I feel you, chickens give me the creeps, dude."
"You're afraid of chickens?" You remarked, giving him a look.
Duncan chuckled at that confession. "Wow, that's—that's really lame, man."
And just like that you were all having this big bonding moment with everyone spilling what they were afraid of. Like Beth went on and on about how she was deeply terrified of being covered in bugs. Harold shared that he was afraid of ninjas, which you didn't believe to be honest. Considering how he’s always doing something ninja-like or bragging about being a skilled martial artist. You were really shocked when Heather admitted she was afraid of something, the girl is her own type of scary, you found it difficult to believe that she had a fear. But I guess even monsters have their nightmares. She admitted to being afraid of sumo wrestlers, her confession making you stifle a laugh with your hand. She shot you a glare and would’ve said something but the conversation quickly moved onto Gwen. Lucky for you since you weren’t really in the mood to deal with Heather.
"What's my worst fear?" Gwen questioned. "I guess being buried alive."
You shivered a little, yeah, that didn’t sound like fun but you weren't afraid of that.
"Walking through a minefield...in heals," Lindsay said after Gwen finished.
"Flying man, that's some crazy stuff," Owen shared, Izzy nodding her head as she agreed. "I would never go up in a plane."
"I'm scared of hail, small but deadly," Geoff said.
"Being left alone in the woods," Bridgette confessed.
Beside her, Sadie, sniffled before sharing her biggest fear, she hated bad haircuts. Lindsay gasped and changed her fear, she agreed that bad haircuts were the worst thing ever. Cody went next, his biggest fear was having to defuse a time bomb under pressure.
"I'm not really afraid of anything," Courtney said smugly.
You and Duncan both coughed, calling her out on her bullshit. "Yeah right." "Baloney."
"Oh really? Well what exactly are your phobias, Mr. And Mrs. Know-It-All," She scoffed.
That was your cue to look away and pretend like you had no idea what just happened. Duncan looked like he had just been caught doing something embarrassing as he looked around to the others. They were all waiting for him, and you, to share their biggest phobia. Mostly because they wanted to know what the big bad Duncan was afraid off. And you, Miss Mysterious, seemed to know a lot about everyone but hardly anyone knew a thing about you.
Duncan sighed and gave up his fear. "Ce-Celine Dion music-store standees."
Beside him, he heard you stifle a laugh before his attention turned to Cody who spoke up. "Ex-squeeze me? I didn’t quite get that."
"Dude, did you say 'Celine Dion music-store standees?'" Trent asked.
"Ooh, I love Celine Dion," Lindsay cheered. "What's a standee?"
"You know, that cardboard-cutout thing that stands in the music store," Trent explained.
"Don't say it, dude," Duncan said with a groan.
"Kind of like a life-size but flat, Celine," Trent went on.
"So, if we had a cardboard standee right now," Courtney went on before being cut off by Duncan.
"That's kind of pathetic," You chuckled.
"Oh yeah, and what are you afraid of?" Duncan challenged.
"No offense, you're all pretty cool people, some more than others. But you're not the only ones listening in and I'd rather not tell the world what I'm afraid of," You said.
And just like that they all realized they were on TV. "Uh, well, I've got nothing to hide. I hate mimes, like a lot." Trent shared.
"Okay Courtney, you're afraid of something," You said, trying to get her to spill.
"Nope—Nothing," She said, that smug smile still on her face.
"That's not what she said last night," Duncan laughed, making you roll your eyes and divert your gaze.
You liked Duncan, that much you knew, since the beginning you two just clicked. But you had no idea how he felt about you, sure you had your moments but he loved to mess around. And he seemed to have a thing for Courtney, you weren't about to interfere with that. You saw Courtney stand up and leave, completely missing out on what happened. You looked at Duncan, no doubt that he had something to do with it but he just shrugged his shoulders. After that, everyone decided to head back to bed, wanting some rest before another gruesome challenge tomorrow.
You walked next to Duncan in silence before the two of you reached the cabins and went your separate ways.
-
You sat at the table that held all your teammates, eating Chef's "food" as Chris announced the next challenge. He announced the next game to be a game called 'Phobia Factor' where everyone would be facing their greatest fears. And this right here is exactly why didn't share what your greatest fear is, and why you never will.
He pulled out a card, announcing Heather as the first victim in this challenge, facing her worst fear; sumo wrestlers. He called on Gwen next, she was going to be buried alive, making her gasp loudly. This is when everyone figured out that everyone was actually facing off their biggest fear. And now everyone thought you were a complete genius for not sharing your fear.
"Chef Hatchet, didn't you have a special order for Tyler here?" Chris said.
Chef nodded smugly as he presented Tyler with a whole fried chicken. Tyler picked it up and brought it to his mouth, biting the head off, only for a live chicken to pop out. Was that even possible? Tyler freaked out, of course, but ultimately setting off the game.
The game went on pretty okay, with everyone being presented their fear. Beth was shown a large pool of bugs in which jumped right in and swam around. Nice one Beth, way to set the bar so high! Sadie and Lindsay were both made to wear mullet wigs all day to complete their part of the challenge. Izzy and Owen were taken up on a plane that was being driven by Chef. Harold faced off ninjas, or at least tried, he ended up smacking himself with his own nunchucks. Why did he have nunchucks at the ready? Lashawna ran away from Chef dressed as a spider, coasting her team a point. Heather went up against a sumo wrestler and actually won, by total luck though. But it made the score 2-0 with the killer bass, your team, losing.
Bridgette was lead into the woods to begin her six hours of total solitude. You watched in slight horror as Gwen was being buried, poor girl. DJ eventually scored a point for you team when he conquered his fear of snakes. But you were still one-point behind so not much of a victory for you guys.
Cody was let somewhere where a garbage bomb was planted, one he had to defuse. As Trent was being chased by a mime, the rest of you moved onto the next fear. Duncan's Celine Dion music-store standee phobia, all of you stood in front of cardboard cutout of her as Chris explained what you had to do.
Duncan stood there with a terrified face as you helped him out. "She's pretty, she's nice."
"Just one hug and you're done," Chris explained.
"That—That looks really real, man," Duncan said, fear evident in his voice.
"Dude, she's made of cardboard! Get in the game!" Tyler yelled from the sidelines.
"Hey, it's okay if you can't do it," You told him gently.
He sighed and reached out for your hand, causing your heart to skip a beat. "Fine, I'll try." He said, giving you a smile. He took a deep breath before running off towards the cutout, arms outstretched to give her a hug. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug, scoring the bass another point. You smiled widely, ready to give him a hug but someone beat you to it. Courtney wrapped her arms around Duncan, cuddling up to him and cheering. That's right, he and Courtney had a thing that you weren't about to get in between.
You and the others walked over to him and congratulated him for his big win. The score was tied until Trent faced the mime and scored the gophers another point, leaving the score 3-2. Next up was Geoff with a mini cloud of hail just for him to pelt him with hail. But this reminded Trent about Gwen being buried alive, but she completed her task and the gophers now had four points while the bass had two. Owen and Izzy also survived their plane ride, scoring their team another two points. Looks like your team lost another challenge, even if Sadie, Bridgette, and Tyler completed their tasks.
Speaking of which, Lindsay and Sadie conquered their fears and went the whole day with bad haircuts. Making the score 7-3, let's hope Tyler can get over his fear of chickens and win your team other point. But with Tyler being the last challenge of the day, what hope did you team have? Especially since Bridgette lost and ran out of the woods before time was up.
"Actually, we have two more challenges," Chris announced.
You looked at him in confusion, you and Courtney both refused to say what you were afraid of so what could they actually do? Chris brought everyone over to a tub of green jelly for Courtney to jump into, after they deduced that she was afraid of green jelly. That was probably more pathetic than Tyler's fear of chickens but when she explained why you saw her reasoning. It did look like snot, it made you shiver as you thought about it.
"Ugh, that is just cruel! It's probably warm by now, warm green jelly. Snotty, bouncy, ugh!" Gwen said, trying psych Courtney out.
Courtney stood at the top, looking down at the tub in disgust. "It's okay if you can't do it, Courtney." Duncan said.
"It is? But won't we lose?" You retorted.
In the end she chickened out, walking back to her team in shame, while the gophers cheered. "Not so fast gophers, I said we had two challenges left." Chris said as he looked at you. "On this show, we like to do our research, and since you didn't tell us your fear we had to dig it up. Thanks for that, by the way."
"And what did you find?" You asked cautiously.
"Absolutely nothing!" Chris sighed. "Which is why, if you tell us your fear and complete it, I will give you triple points."
You felt everyone's eyes on you, while you looked at Chris with a harsh glare while he smiled smugly. What were you going to do? You could do the challenge and score three points or leave it as is. But three points wouldn’t give you the win, so either way your team still loses.
"That'd still be 7-6 though," You said.
"True, but at least your teammates can't say you didn’t try," Chris said. You gave him a look which made him roll his eyes and speak up once again. “Fine, I’ll also throw in immunity for you and another camper of your choice.”
Your teammates all looked at you eagerly, hoping that you would take the deal. And they were all hoping they were good enough friends with you that you’d consider one of them for immunity. But let’s be honest, even if you did do it and win, you’d choose Duncan as your immunity buddy.
You sighed heavily. "Fine, I don't like small spaces."
"That's it?" Someone from the gophers remarked.
You turned to look at them with a glare, pointing a finger at them. "You try spending two hours in a small closet because your so-called friends forgot to find you during hide-n-seek!"
And then is where your fear of confined places stems from, all because of a small incident when you were six. Chris chuckled in the back as he started to set everything up before leading you to your challenge. You started to quiver as the lot of you walked with him, the last time you were stuck in enclosed area you had a massive panic attack.
Everyone looked at you as they waited for you to go into the small spaced area Chris had set up. You couldn't do it, you really just couldn't, it was too much for you.
"Hey, psst," Duncan whispered beside you.
"Uh, yeah?" You said.
"Shh, keep it down. Take this," Duncan slipped you something before you were pushed into your small space.
The last bit of light was shut out before you were in complete darkness and confinement. You just had to be in here for ten minutes, you could do it and score you team three points. "Hey, you listening?" A voice came through somewhere, more specifically through the device Duncan slipped you, a walkie-talkie.
"Yeah, what's up?" You asked.
"Figured you might need someone to talk to while you did this," Duncan said.
"Yeah thanks," You replied.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Duncan asked sincerely, shocking you that he was being nice.
"Wow, it's not like you to be so nice," You teased.
"Keep doing that and I'll leave," He threatened.
"Sorry!" You yelped, not wanting to think about being alone. "So, uh, you and Courtney huh?" Now was your time to find out how Duncan felt about Courtney.
"What about me and Miss Loud Mouth," He spoke.
"You two are a thing, right?" You asked.
"No! What gave you that idea?" He asked.
"Well, you two seem so close and you ended up sleeping together on last challenge," You explained.
"Okay, that was a total accident and I don't like Miss I'm A CIT. I just like messing with her, she's too easy," He told you, laughing on the other end.
"Oh," Was your reply.
"Why the sudden interest, princess?" He asked.
"No reason, just trying to keep my mind off of other things," You said. "So how much longer?"
"You've got five more minutes. Anyway, no reason isn't a reason, why the question?" He pressed.
"It is a reason, geez, can't a girl ask a question," You sighed.
"Alright whatever," He replied.
Silence overtook the atmosphere, your fear creeping back up quickly. You took deep breaths as you tried to calm yourself down, you weren't going to lose, not like this. "Duncan, you still there?"
"Yeah, I'm still here," He said.
"Okay good," You said, letting silence take over again for a few minutes. "Hey Duncan?"
"Yeah?" He asked.
"I like you, a lot," You confessed.
"I know princess. I actually like you too," He said.
You smiled to yourself and snuggled into yourself, waiting patiently for the end of your challenge. When you got out, everyone was waiting there for you, cheering at your successful challenge. They had to give it to you, having to spend ten minutes in total confinement was unthinkable. None of them wanted to do that, so yeah, kudos to you. And Duncan was waiting for you there as well, actually impressed that you did it. You lost the challenge but you conquered your fear and perhaps got a boyfriend too.
