Stephanie “Stevie” Lynn Nicks, é uma cantora e compositora conhecida pelo seu trabalho na banda de folk rock Fleetwood Mac. Nicks é dona do impressionante título de Rainha Reinante do Rock N’ Roll (o que eu acho pessoalmente errado, Janis Joplin �� a eterna, porém... não reproduzo competição feminina, amo todas).

No total, Stephanie tem treze indicações ao Grammy. Seu primeiro álbum solo é quatro vezes certificado platina e sua primeira colaboração com o Fleetwood Mac teve o título de “o álbum mais vendido de todos os tempos” até o ano de seu lançamento.

Stevie nunca deixou claro sua religião, embora os fãs especulem um lado místico na cantora (e os haters que já a perseguiram por acharem que a mesma praticava bruxaria). Já fez participações especiais no seriado de terror American Horror Story como uma bruxa. A grande maioria de suas músicas tem misticismo com uma mesclada de romance.

Assim como David Bowie, Nicks incorporava personagens saídos de musicas. Sua Rhiannon, uma garota levada pelo vento, deixou todos boquiabertos nos anos 70, onde mulheres estavam recém tendo reconhecimento nos movimentos feministas. Sempre excêntrica e a um passo de ser uma bruxa, Stevie era alvo dos tabloides da época e chegaram a persegui-la por sua aparência Wicca.

Stevie guiou a mim e muitas outras meninas na jornada da adolescência no conturbado mundo da ideologia. Essa mulher é importantíssima para o feminismo como sobrevivente do mundo extremamente sexista do Rock N’ Roll, nos ensinando que ser diferente dos outros era algo incrível e não de se envergonhar.

Are you a Sacred Rebel:

A Sacred Rebel is a powerful being who dances to the beat of their own drum. A multidimensional being who breaks the rules breaks and generational cycles, who live life out loud, who lives life unapologetically. A beautiful being who will sacrifice being judged and scrutinized in order to feel FREE in their mind, body, heart, and spirit. A beautiful being who gives so freely and has been heartbroken one time too many but doesn't let that stop him/her/they from being who they are.

I am definitely a Sacred Rebel my entire life I have been a rebel who broke the rules and defied what was put on me to believe about myself. I refused to conform to thinking and feeling the way others in my family would want me to be.

I was always the odd one that stood out and knew I was different from everyone else in my life. I chose to live my life the way I saw fit despite how much I was judged or frowned upon.

I never felt like I fit in with my family no matter how hard I tried and it was very clear that they felt that same way about me. There were times I felt alone even though I was in a room full of family but they felt like complete strangers. I can feel the looks and hear their remarks and just wanted to run and hide.

I did the best I could to feel accepted but deep down inside my spirit I knew the acceptance was not genuine. I always felt like I was being tolerated and was seen as an obligation or option instead of a priority.

I have always been a free spirit with a pure heart and rough around the edge and would give my all however I didn’t feel like my presence was appreciated.

Regardless of all of the hurt and pain, I experience due to being my Sacred Rebel Self I chose to feel uncomfortable and did what others were too afraid to do or say because this is my birthright.
