You know, I really hope that Netflix can adapt all the Bridgerton books in the saga.

That of Benedict, who is not my favorite but whose character I adore in the series has great potential to be brought to the screen (which unfortunately will still not be season 4 which it seems to me will be on Eloise).

Volume 6 on Francesca & Michael is just the best book in the saga and must be adapted for the screen.

Afterwards, I must say that if the last two volumes on the last 2 children are not adapted, it's not that serious. Especially since it takes place years later when they have grown up, they could easily read them once the series is finished.

But Bénédict & Sophie, and especially Francesca & Michael have to be adapted for the screen, I'm sorry !

That'll be 6 seasons maximum ! Elite has had the right to I don’t know how many seasons ! (8 by the way !)

They can do that for Bridgerton !

(I should point out that I still have a big problem with volume 1 and the affair between Daphne and Simon when he was drunk. Collin who squeezes Penelope's handle to the point of bruising her ?! But wtf ?! Then even if I love the Kanthony book, the scene where Anthony has his tantrum in the carriage when Kate doesn't want to consummate the marriage straight away, and she tells herself that he is right and that it is her right to take him to the room and lock him there if he wants... uh... discomfort. Even if volume 2 is my second favorite book in the series)

In any case I hope at least that Brigerton will go (it's a necessity in my eyes) up to 6 seasons, and why not up to the 8th if that's possible ? After all, once again, if a shitty series like Elite can have 8 seasons, why not Bridgerton ?!

This is a very cynical Gen X-er, pragmatists' view on the future of Bridgerton:

I think they pushed up Penelope's story, and will probably push up Eloise's story, because the actresses who were cast for Pen and Eloise were like 15 years older than their characters, which was okay when Bridgerton started filming in 2019 but becomes more problematic the more years go by (particularly if the romance story calls for the female main character to be an ingenue).

Claudia Jessie looked 16 4 years ago, but she looks way older than 20 now, but they are not going to recast her for a younger person (because she is GREAT)... so that clock is kind of ticking on her getting a young first love story.

And sure, Benedict/Luke Thompson ALSO faces this weird aging-in-two-timelines dichotomy (I think he's like 26 on the show but nearing 40 IRL), but it will be okay to have a 40-year-old male main character in Bridgerton, because of patriarchy and sexism.

Hence: my prediction is that Eloise is the lead for Season 4 in 2026, and that they keep Benedict in reserve for a Season 5 renewal (which still hasn't been publicized as actually happening) in 2028.

And since we're talking about wild speculations in the distant future anyway: I also predict that Francesca's story with John is a happily-for-now ending, UNLESS the renewal for seasons 4-6 happens, in which case she becomes the focus of Season 6.

And while Gregory's story is probably the best technically crafted Bridgerton book of them all... I wouldn't be surprised if they just decided to end the TV project before Hyacinth and Gregory's stories. They have been little kids for too long in this universe, and I just don't know if the Shondaland people can keep this highly-expensive, highly-bandwidth-intensive universe going for 16 years. Particularly because people like Jon Bailey, Phoebe Dynevor, and Nicola Coughlan are going to be EXPENSIVE to bring even on an occasional basis (and sadly, I don't think they're all going to be together again).

only 72 days to my favourite characters and ships are back I do hope we get to see more Marina and Philip in dislike/enemies to lovers kinda story my fav trope I mean if we can get that in queen Charlotte, with Charlotteand George where it was a marriage of convenience force and without love at first but they grew to learn about each other their situation form a bond only they can and love each other would be so epic + it’ll give plot twist instead of the predictable ending we are headed.

We know they won’t change the end couples which is fine don’t mean that sir Philip can’t come to understand and love marina and Marina him and once she is no longer with him he can ofc fall in love again you don’t just fall in love just once in your life there’s first love and then there’s true soulmate love!

Still waiting on that princess Edwina a Brid story for s2 of the spin off after polin season and before Benedict season followed by lady Danbury a Bridgerton story then s5 of Bridgerton, then lastly prince Adolphus a Bridgeton story and the last ever season of Bridgerton having all the remaining 2 siblings stories go together s6 the end! this way everyone gets their happy endings and also first love and true love aka their soulmate love

Yes, that's very true, Ryan has been consistently hated/viewed with suspicion and skepticism for years, so the majority of buddie fandom (who are Oliver stans) wouldn't want to ship him with Oliver. I distinctly remember one particular post (in Ryan's tag) a year or two ago that was like, "ugh if buddie goes canon i feel sorry for oliver having to kiss that man" 🙄

Lol yes I guess we have to thank bt shippers and their OTT vitriol for turning the tide somewhat. It's been nice to see a recent influx of vocal Eddie/Ryan fans join the fandom. So refreshing and entertaining.

YES!!! I completely understand why people were really mad back then, especially black people and I also understand if there are still black people who haven't quite forgiven him and it's totally valid, because what he did was not ok (even if he never said that word he was still trying to justify his then wife's actions and that should have been a big no no) the problem is that people let it get a tad too far and spreading things that were NOT true to new fans in the recent years out of anger, making him seen like a terrible person who is a racist and hates black people when that is not true... Aisha and Angela were really mad back then but they both clearly have forgiven him (since Angela invited him to his anniversary party and Aisha to his wedding) and he has never done anything remotely similar again so I think he truly changed and has become better so I really believe people have started to see that and the bt being awful to him probably was a changing point to most of the fandom (not all because some still hate him) but well you can't change someone's views on people changing...

To the Oliver thing... I watched that interview live and I'm 100% sure he said he's single but I can't for the life of me find a clip of the interview (if anyone finds it please send it to me!!!) But I remember that he said he was single and then kind of shaded his ex (lol) so yeah

As for the last thing... yup not many notice but it happens quite a lot. Just like how actors tend to fall in love with eachother (which doesn't happen all the time but it happens) in fandom it also happens that they believe they fall in love. Take heartstopper for example... Kit and Joe plan Nick and Charlie who are very in love but in reality they're just very good friends but people insist on shipping them or the Bridgerton actors that play Colin and Penelope as well... people project the feelings of their characters into their real life personalities because of the chemistry the actors have together. It's hard to comprehend the idea of acting so close to someone and play lovers and have so much chemistry but not falling in love

Yes, the world is often still a terrifying nightmare for queer people.

Spring 2024 served up a full season of Ava & Deborah in Hacks S3, the always delightful Abbot Elementary for its S3, and Ncuti Gatwa Fifteenth Doctor kissing Jonathan Groff on Doctor Who.

Summertime delivered Poolverine in Deadpool 3, a season of excellence with Interview with the Vampire S2, the killer finales of Umbrella Academy and Star Trek: Discovery, the continued successor to She Ra & Steven Universe in My Adventures with Superman S2, a taste of a future queerer Bridgerton in S3, the interracial interabled lesbian wedding of the year in The Dragon Prince S6, and House of the Dragon blowing up the internet for two months gay with its wonderful shenanigans—from the sept scene, to GNC-coded Rhaenyra kissing Mysaria, to Alicent going full Virginia Woolf on a MF & then proposing elopement in a 4 AM break-in.

Spooky season has the return of Jac Schaeffer to the WandaVision fam—Billy Maximoff, Teddy Altman (who he’s explicitly dating) & a bevy of PEAK lesbian activity in Agatha All Along, coming out (ha) within a month of Heartstopper S3, and the series finales of What We Do In The Shadows and Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Then, we’ll close out the year with Harlivy in Harley Quinn S5, Lady Gaga as Harley in a musical in Folie a Deux, and MF-live action WICKED PT. 1.

And this isn’t even it, y’all. This doesn’t include countless anime, cartoons, and queer shows that are gaining ground now that they’re streaming (Kevin Can F**k Himself, ILYSM).

No, it isn’t perfect. Yes, I want more and better representation. (Especially for sapphics, BIPOC queers, disabled queers, trans and GNC folks.)

But there are reasons for hope. We are moving in the right direction. 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Okay, imo, bridgerton could go this way for the next few seasons (assuming they're renewed which, surely). Spoilers for the books obviously:

S4 is Benedict. I don't think we can go right into Francesca's because it's a bit longer and Eloise is absolutely not ready. Yes Benedict just opened his world up but I don't think we can keep meandering around with him for another season, or, we can kind of do that while also playing out his story. He is very rakish after all. Plus we got the mention of the masquerade ball at the end of S3. I just think that for it to be him makes the most sense. Plus it will make the effect of seeing Sophie and being hit with that "love at first sight" stick more impactful because he thinks he doesn't want to settle yet.

During S4, we see snippets of John and Francesca being happy in their marriage as well as her getting to know Michaela. We either need to end S4 with John's death or for it to happen in episode one of S5 (which will be Francesca's season).

S5 we get to see her grief but also where she relies on Michaela to help her through. I don't want to see any feelings realisation on her end until S5, if they want to tease Michaela's affections earlier that's fine. Somewhere during this season it is revealed that Marina has died and Eloise, for one reason or another, reaches out with a letter to her late husband (Sir Phillip Crane) to offer her condolences and they begin corresponding. This sets us up for S6 where Eloise goes to meet Phillip after his proposal.

I just think this makes the most sense for where the characters are now and where they could be! Feel free to agree or disagree or tell me your thoughts!

Tagged by @morethanslightly to name my 5 favorite fics. I only have 11 and they’re all pretty short, but here are the ones I’m proudest of or have a soft spot for:

1. the body of someone you love (Ted Lasso OT3): Jamie gets in a minor accident, and Roy has to work through his immediate reaction of processing all negative emotions as anger. Featuring hurt/comfort, minor squabbles and making up, and cuddles and caretaking. I write mostly one shots without a ton of conflict, and this was my first fic with conflict and resolution, and I was proud of it!

2. The Bride (Schitt’s Creek David/Patrick): 5 times David wanted to be a bride and one time he was. I had gender feels and mixed feelings about the way David was referred to as a bride (sometimes negatively) in canon. So I worked through those feelings with a little 5+1 treatment. My first 5+1 fic! Written at the beginning s6 so not fully canon compliant.

3. Our Love in Pictures (Bridgerton S2 Modern Social Media AU): This was mostly just me having fun with Canva and playing around. I don’t usually do AUs, but I adore a good social media AU, and I had a ton of fun looking for pics and thinking of comments the characters would leave.

4. The Play’s the Thing (Schitt’s Creek David/Patrick): my first fic! David and Patrick have fun with a little spanking role play. Your girl’s got a kink and it was fun making my blorbos indulge in it. I also think sex and laughter are such a fun combo, so I loved writing this.

5. Letting Go (Ted Lasso RoyJamie): my first Ted Lasso fic! Basically fluffy spanking. I love non-sexual kink and wanted to give Jamie a stress release spanking. If I’m honest, Roy is a little OOC here, but this was fully a self indulgent projection fic, and I make no apologies. It felt good to write. Like a warm hug.

I know it's been a while, but with the new 911 season coming up ( I will not be watching,probably check in every now and again) I wanted to share my own self check of how I view relationships on tv.

After S6 finale, I was like lost and furious, I mean, I wanted and still do want the last 6 years of my life back from 911. (Well three because they didn't always suck).

But I went back to watching normal TV, you know, the kind that portray relationships and are being clear of the direction.

I watched Good Omens, so rooting for that pair, they are the best! And with that cast of unbelievably talented actors, I enjoyed every minute of it. Point is I didn't allow myself to see that friendship as a ship because of how damaged my perception of on screen relationships became after 911 displaying all the right signals, then taking a hard left into a tree at the end of the seasons.

I am not even going to to touch the First Prince of RW&RB, which is essentially a buddie storyline that was followed through to its logical conclusion.

I also thought, maybe I just can't enjoy straight on screen relationships anymore and I'm looking for more.

My sister sat me to watch Bridgerton for the very first time (just S1 for now) I can say with absolute certainty that it dis-abused me of that theory as well, because I rooted and got excited for Daphne and Simon at first sight.

Such a wonderful love story told right!

These are the two prominent tv shows that cemented my belief that it is in fact not on me.

Going back in my head I remember rooting for Catherine and Steve, and almost every one of Danny's gfs (except Rachel, it was clear she'd break his heart again.) In H50.

I wanted Gibson to end up with Andy in Station 19. Never wanted her to end up with Maya or him with Miller.

And even though it didn't need to be said, but was said in a humorous fashion, the writers also made clear that Gibson prefer women.

So it is in fact the flawed 911 writing that got me to give up on all forms of logic of reading tv relationships right.

That I gave up on tv for a while.

But, that being said, I can say I was always attracted to Ryan, but Eddie always got my gaydar to go off. And Oliver is not my type, but Buck is a hot bi firefighter - and that is a thing I already thought in S1, way before Eddie arrived.

So either the writers has no clue what they're doing, or they did and chickened out last minute.

And I finally reached the point where, I throw in the towel, wish you all well and move on.

It is not just about buddie, it is just a buddie post.

If anyone is interested, I can make a whole post involving the "development" of the rest of the og characters, where I say enough is enough.

Either make them interesting again, or bring in new blood that hasn't been first a piece of ass to further Buck's questionable development.

9-1-1 was a great show, 3 seasons ago. They had sparks every now and again in between, but those were few and always demolished in some way by horrible writing choices.

you’re querying a bonkai inspired book? AHHH i hope it finds an agent and gets published because ive been looking for their dynamic in trad pubbed work + other media. hmm basic question but what was it about the ship that made you want to write original work inspired by it?

hii!! yes, it's called The Forgotten Legacy (or maybe The Unwanted Heir, that's TBD lol). I'm pitching it as a Witch-coded Bridgerton inspired 8 book series (Witcherton, if you will), and I'm so unbelievably obsessed. I've had such a fun time injecting it with true to life witch lore and specifics on covens/pantheons/and practices across the globe.

Each book will focus on one of the Attwood siblings - starting with a childhood friends to rivals to lovers new adult story.

I run a yt channel where I recap fantasy media and the stars aligned for me creatively this time when I reached tvd s6. I had just finished a project and was ready for something new, and Kai is like the closest thing I have to a muse. He sneaks his way into all the MMC's I write, but this time I just went all in.

I've always been drawn to the secrets of the gemini coven/the flashbacks from their childhood we don't get to see. So I decided to build my own magical family/world where I could figure all of those things out, add to them, and do what I wanted with the all the intersecting arcs.

The biggest thing I changed is that only the dad is cruel, so my MMC grows up with a mom/siblings/and specifically a twin that truly love him. The family is still majorly screwed up, don't get me wrong, but they have this drive to take care of each other that makes my heart ache. I liiiiive for sibling angst, so figuring out the individual dynamics between the siblings has been ridiculously fun. Close sibling friendships might be my true weakness ?? so it was really important to me to develop that relationship between my MMC/his twin sister and explore what it looks like for them to go into my version of the merge loving each other the entire time.

imo if you boil Kai down to one core emotion its Desperate with an underscore of Rage, and my MMC is Desperate with an underscore of Sorrow. He's living with the knowledge that he could single handedly destroy his entire family, or save everyone with his death at his sister's hands. He gives up basically everything to be a good big brother and protect them, sacrificing his own happiness in the process. (don't worry tho he still has the inherent darkness, sarcasm/the wit we all know and love - he's an emotional mess and i adore him!!)

As for why I find Bonkai inspiring, again I think it's all the possibilities of the ship itself. I was so excited for Bonnie to have someone who was 100% obsessed with her, and I think if given the chance she would have been that person for Kai, too. He's never had someone love him/protect him, and if they'd been a couple I think Bonnie 100% would have stood between him and the rest of the geminis.

I wanted to finally see a badass (mostly healthy) witch couple, and bonkai would have just ?? decimated everyone else on the board. So with my writing I explored the dynamics of them being willing to do anything to keep each other safe/plus the complexities of their individual power/what it would be like if they could work together.

I focused a lot on the opposing personalities/undeniable understanding that bonkai has. So they still fight but there's that element of ...uh, do you guys need a room or ?? They remind me of magnets - you can never tell if they're going to make out or try to kill each other or both. I added the elements of a childhood friendship between my FMC and the twins, so there's some fun friendship dynamics there, too.
