easy instruments i can see the cats making: drums, rattles, harps/lyres

google was unhelpful in determining if cats could make simple flutes or panpipes, because it wouldn’t tell me if they could blow or not lol

Thankfully I am more powerful than google because I have MEDICAL TRAINING

I found this comparative study between the buccinator (cheek) muscle of humans and cats and it says, definitively, that cats can both (I'm going to say very funny words. Look at me. Be an adult.) suck and blow.

However,

The obicularis oris, which is the circular muscle around the lips that allows you, a monkey, to purse your lips and do a 'kissy' motion, is NOT well developed in cats. Ergo, they won't have good control over their lip movement.

They can play woodwind instruments, so long as the instrument has a lip to press their face into, or hold in their mouth.

I will make an entry on this in the future with some ideas and I'll MAKE some new instruments just for Clan Cats, but for now I'll leave this list of woodwind instruments they can and can't play:
