(wano spoilers)
there are these few pages in chapter 1001, where right after zoro protected luffy from an attack by big mom, he told him (similarily like in punk hazard arc, but this time he definitely meant it 100x more seriously) not to get distracted - to 'not lose focus for a single instant'.
and right next panel law was starting shit with luffy (after saving him from kaido's attack)
it's so funny how law was annoyed that it seemed luffy was ordering him around, even if he did the thing luffy asked for. because he was already planning on doing that, sure, sure. and thought it was the best time to talk about it with luffy
and then kid, of course, couldn't help but add his two cents to the discussion
all while they were literally up fighting against kaido and big mom askjdsjd
and luffy really knew when to come up with his best ideas for the moment 'whoever reacts first is the loser!'
they're all so competitive with each other, it's so fun to watch/read their stupid shenanigans!
even zoro is so done with them :')
edit: few pages later and zoro ordering law around too, bc it's just that much fun! and law listens lol

More notes for Roach conlanging. Roach has grammatical gender, in which only Male, Female, and Object are grammatical genders, whereas Worker uses feminine grammar, Queen and King use a slight variant on feminine grammar, and Drone, and Queen-Alate use masculine grammar. This is because King is derived from Queen, due to their similar positions in a colony, and Queen-Alate is derived from Drone, as both are forms of alate.
Queen is an alteration of feminine grammar that functionally just adds a handful of extra syllables to it, and King is an offsprout of Queen that uses the same grammar with different pronouns. Queen-Alate, despite the name, is derived from Drone, as they are both for referring to different types of alate ant.
Most Roach dialects are intelligible to speakers of Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach, but Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach is not entirely intelligable to speakers of Roach dialects due to a mix of the excessively specialized vocabulary caused by the specific needs of its speakers, the fact that its speakers do not necessarily have Roach mouthparts and thus may not pronounce syllables in a similar way, and due to the fact that Inanimate Object is a full grammatical gender that does not exist in any other dialect of roach and replaces a decent chunk of terminology for things that previously had Other Words For Them.

can u draw more youtube your youtube art is genuinely so nice to look at he gives me gender euphoria . Terrible. i wanna see him hanging out w twitch kik and amino more... Monkey suit..
these aren’t the best yt drawings ever so here’s some older stuff i never shared:
he’s actually one of the characters i struggled w drawing cuz of his stupid hair but i got more practice bc of his connection to twitch (so its all twitch related sorry lol) and also bc we get a lot of asks about him on the cloutchase blog. these doodles were made while vol 3 was being written n i was tryna visualize twitch + yt’s past because even tho their relationship was literally a holdover from my early concepts, i couldn’t actually ever see them together romantically… they’ve either been close friends or divorced no in between 😭

honestly as much as i joke and compare miranda to the severely abused rescue parrot or basically a pet tiger you keep in your house, theres also the counterpart to this that goes, aaravi is basically her service dog.
as in, like, it connects back to merfolk socialization and them constantly having someone who they consider basically a part of themselves always around and being dependent on having other people there to react or behave appropriately. and miranda getting denied that as instead her family lineage was supposed to act as this instead and failed her in being a good replacement in MULTIPLE ways, so now she's basically just... entirely unable to behave normally or healthily from a merfolk lens. she is aggressive and violent, she is quick to lash out, she constantly feels insecure and terrified, she doesn't even conceive of herself as a person and views herself in terms of an object that exists for other people's use of her, she is basically incapable of taking care of herself, she regularly tries to hurt and kill herself with varying degrees of intention.
and the merfolk solution would be to introduce a caretaker into this relationship dynamic, whether through grafting miranda into an existing caretaker group or by adding a caretaker into her existing deep social group. which isn't an option, because that has DEEPLY political implications and implying herself as being flawed or the crown as flawed by proxy would either get her outright killed or even further abused. it's just not an option for her and why she keeps getting worse, because there is no help that can come from within this system.
and aaravi in turn, acts as a member of that social group, who miranda can look to and depend upon. firstly, to judge appropriate emotional response, because she acts much worse on her own, and having aaravi there means when miranda starts getting upset she can look to aaravi and see how she's acting and to know if she should intensify or if she needs to go to aaravi and seek comfort. but also just in the sense that miranda's ideas of what is healthy or safe have been destroyed and she does kind of need someone there to make sure she is taking care of herself and not hurting herself at any given moment. she needs someone to make her feel secure and safe and someone who she can rely on, and that need is very key to who she is as a merfolk and the nature of the trauma in question, and aaravi does fulfill the need of a caretaker.
