Can you do a headcanon / fanfic where Higuchi stands up for herself

Uh, I do think she was and still is. Like, I think the Black Lizard did bullied her until chapter 14 when she earned some respect from them. Despite the lack of focus on them and Higuchi, we see little of their relationship or progress, but we know it’s there. Akutgawa tho, treats her like a punching bag, and I still think he does.

With other PM members, I do think she’s looked upon but not exactly bullied. The thing with Higuchi is that she’s high ranked, besides little time on the mafia, besides having no ability, so naturally, compared to the people she stands with, she’s pretty powerless, but I do not think people like her, who are lower ranked, bully her because she has more power than those.

Anyways, I wrote some small fic for you, hope you like it <3 (Aku might have turned a little oc, and I wrote Hirotsu like a proud grandpa, I couldn’t contain myself, sorry).

"You can do this Higuchi," she whispered to herself, as she looked herself on the mirror and slapped her cheeks in a way to cheer herself up. Because no one else would.

No one else ever had.

Akutagawa and Hirotsu were waiting in front of Mori’s office. While Hirotsu’s calm remained untouched, Akutagawa’s sour look made her want to shrink. After knocking the door, they got inside, where Mori was waiting for them behind his desk. Elise was playing with dolls beside him on the floor. Higuchi bowed politely, but anxious.

Mori wasn't happy, and with good reason, as the mission had been a disaster and Higuchi wasn’t sure how they were going to get out of that one.

"Care to explain what went wrong?" Mori asked, with false politeness.

The thing about Mori, was that he never raised his voice. Higuchi could stand screams, even slaps and punches, but not the deadly and poisonous false calmness of Mori.

Higuchi nervously looked from Akutagawa to Hirotsu to the floor several times, anxiety building on her chest. But Hirotsu was not going to say anything, as he wasn’t the head of the mission, and so, he remained silent, with his chin up.

“Higuchi got in my way,” Akutagawa growled, interrupting Higuchi attempt to gain courage to speak. Higuchi’s eyes widenen, mouth was left hanging. “She let the target escape.”

Akutagawa was not looking at her, just at Mori. And to be fair, it was a very Akutagawa-like answer, and it was not the first time he had put the blame on her. Higuchi, usually, allowed it. It was not only her obsessive desire to not make him angry and to please him above anything, but also because, she was nothing. She was disposable and powerless.

Higuchi was aware the lack of respect her subordinates had for her, that their obedience came from the fear of Akutagawa and not because they believe in her leadership. And to be fair, neither did she.

So, Higuchi developed the habit of giving up the fight before even trying, and just let it be.

“That’s not true,” her voice was thin and hesitant, but loud enough for everyone to hear.

Her face started to heat, when she realized she had spoke without thinking, her feelings getting the best of her. Akutagawa narrowed his eyes, his stare cold as ice.

“What are you...”

“Everything was going fine,” she continued. Higuchi felt like crying, but she couldn’t stop herself now. The words flew out of her mouth even though she tried to stop herself. “But you got impatient and attacked the guards, who alerted the target and escaped. It was not my fault!”

There was a prolonged silence after she finished shouting her truth. Higuchi, with tears on her eyes, realized that she had speak over her superior and looked at the floor, ashamed. Akutagawa’s fist were close and his lower lip trembled. It was a matter of time before he slapped her.

Hirotsu’s poker face was broken, as his eyes widened and surprise was evident. Mori was just staring. Patiently.

“You...” Akutagawa growled, raising his hand, blinded by anger.

“Well, so that’s what happened,” Mori interrupted. Akutagawa regained composure, lowering his arm. Higuchi’s eyes were fixed on the floor, as regret hit her like a truck.

Mori seemed amused with the scene, as he smiled and allowed them to leave without anything but the future mission to clean up the mess they made.

When they left the room, Higuchi was expecting Akugatawa to hit her like many times before, but instead, he glanced at her before continuing his way and disappearing on the elevator. Higuchi sighed.

“Good job,” Hirotsu whispered after, patting her head for a second.

Higuchi looked at the old man, surprised at the gentle, proud and tiny smile on his face before following Akutagawa’s steps.

The girl was left alone, feeling a mix of fear and relief.

Everyone can see you giving him shy longing stares only for him to be ranting about his latest invention. Not only would he not be able to tell but he’d always think your just being nice!

Of course he’s crushing hard behind his bedroom door to his little eggs. Happily stating and going on rambles of how gorgeous you looked today. He’d state everything! From the new hair style you tried to the new piece of clothing you bought and wore. When I mean he notices everything I mean it, but for some reason he can’t pick up on your obvious love for him.

The way he could stare in your eye as you tell him he looks breathtaking and still think you mean it just to be nice is astonishing. OF COURSE HES BLUSHING AND KICKING HIS TAIL, but he can’t bring himself to think you like him anymore than just friends!

He’d go to his egg boys and sadly rant on how you’ll only see him as friend. And the egg boys all share one Brain cell so they can’t tell you like him aswell!, maybe they might accidentally spill, or almost spill the secret of him liking you but he quickly knocks them away before you can make sense of what their saying.

All the residents watch as you do your best to drop hints only for him to complete miss it. Even angel cringes as he watches him completely be oblivious to the obvious flirting, it’s take Charlie and Vaggie to stop him from pointing out the obvious.

Husk almost always gives Sir Pentious as gaze of just utter confusion and tiredness.

He’d gladly take flowers from you that you gifted him and take care of it for weeks on end without realizing the romantic gesture!

Alastor, as always finds it humorous, although he usually doesn’t indulge himself in romantic like things he’s find it hilarious. “Even with three eyes he still can’t see the obvious! Ha!”

Charlie tries to help to the best of her ability to help guid him the right direction but it’s just end up with him more confused. Vaggie just face slaps internally,

honestly the whole crew wasn’t having high hopes for him as dim as that is. , look! He ain’t bad looking, but not many people would prefer his clumsy self, so they were honestly hoping he’d figure it out before you possibly moved on.

Even when your upset at the obvious frustrating situation he’s still be confused while trying to do his best to comfort you.

The way he just stood staring at you in pure disbelief, before snapping out of it and embarrassed as his previous words. But after the said embarrassment he’s full with giddy, why of course you love him!, he’s the great sir pentious!

Yea his embarrassment would quickly turn into pride, considering he got someone as beautiful as you to fall for him.

"And yet, here you are, still moping just the same," he snaps back. "Kalim, congratulations. I'm sure the prefect will- where'd he go?"

Despite their best efforts, Kalim hadn't heard a single word of the other housewarden's well wishes (and warnings).

He was gone before they'd even started, in fact.

Even with all he'd had prepared beforehand- the new room, the uniforms, all of your favorite foods- there was suddenly a list a mile long on his mind.

First, he had to get you.

Then, he had to show you around your new place.

Then, dinner.

Followed by dessert, of course.

(Maybe a light appetizer to start? Why hadn't he thought of that already?!)

And then he'd treat you to an evening of your favorite songs, laughter, and fun.

Kalim may be a little oblivious at times, but your poor condition at Ramshackle is no secret to anyone. He'd been talked out of helping more than once before- and, so, this was his chance.

The gravity of technically owning a person who doesn't legally exist in this world hasn't crossed his mind even once. The way he sees it, he gets to host you indefinitely, take you on vacations with his family, treat you to the life you deserve after all you've done for everyone, and no one can tell him no.

Though, something still sits in the back of his mind, something that asks him to walk before running. A voice of reason.

If Kalim had a shoulder angel and devil, both of them would somehow be Jamil:

More than anything, Kalim wants to impress you.

Of course, he loves his siblings. And his parents. And the students in Scarabia. And the students in the other dorms. He might consider all of the above friends, but not at the emotional level he seeks. Jamil is a work in progress. But you- you're already well-acquainted, and friendly. You're a gracious guest, a great listener, and... well, you had the kind of bond he looks for with so many other people on campus.

Why else would everyone be lining up to pay to be your friend otherwise?

(That's how he saw it, anyway).

So, he listens. Makes an effort to, anyway. He even stops feeding Grim at dinner when you ask him to.

"Oops!" he says, offering the direbeast a gold-lined handkerchief to wipe around his mouth. "But it's good, right? Jamil's family recipe is always delicious!"

You quirk a smile at him. "I liked it. Grim?"

Grim mumbles something indistinct and crawls to sit on the other side of you.

"I'm glad! I remember you telling me that you miss it from your home- I can't believe some of our recipes are so similar!" he beams. "Maybe Scarabia will start feeling like a home to you, too, then!"

You laugh, a little awkwardly. "Aha... maybe. This is all just so sudden,"

"But... good, right?"

"Yes, good," you smile, tilting your head to the side. "It's a step up from being Crowley's errand-runner and sleeping in the cold, at least."

"Well, you'll certainly never be cold here!"

He laughs again, and a murmur of agreement ripples through the students in attendance, all the way down to the end of the long table.

"Ah... Kalim, this is nice. Really nice... I don't know how I'm going to repay you for any of this,"

"Pay? Like with money?" he raises an eyebrow. "You're my guest, and an honorary member of Scarabia now, so you don't have to do anything but relax."

he’s always found comfort in your voice, even when you were just chattering. But now it’s different, the first time a soft melody escaped your lips, let me tell you, he was hooked ever since then.

He found comfort in your soft hum’s, it was such a calming thing, it was a big difference from the hustle and bustle of the over populated hell. A good one at that, it was an escape for him ♥(⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)♥

He’ll always go silent when you’re humming, and you’ll never notice it!. He’ll listen to the soft hum with full attention. Of course he’ll always be careful so you don’t catch on!

he doesn't understand why, but he love’s being discreet when listening to you. Maybe it’s the wya you feel relaxed or let the notes flow more freely from you mouth. He’s not quite sure but he just knows he dose it quite often!

sooner or later though he’ll make it be known that he’s been listening to you. Most likely in a teasing way! Loves seeing you get flustered.

soon he may even join you in your little hums if he knows the melody of the song your humming! It’s always such a love filled moment. Although he maybe, a bit cocky and standoffish here on there he’s always so tender in moments like these. You get to see his soft side in rare and soft moments like these.

Although that doesn’t mean the teasing would stop! He loves teasingly calling you his singing bird, or his Canary. But he also means it in adoring way as well!

Your little songs and voice get stuck in his Tv head constantly, it’s always on loop. He doesn’t Hate it, not at all! But sometimes when you are apart it dose make him miss you.

Whenever he’s about to have a melt down/ lose his absolute shit (Aka he fought alastor once again ( ｰ`дｰ´ ) ) he’ll let his mind put your hums on loop its very much a coping method!, I would say it helps him a good chunk of the time but you might already know the shortness of his temper at times.

if you guys are possible in his living space and in private. he’s all over you, his love for you is watered down in public, but I’m privacy he’s be asking you too hum for him so he could relax! He’d love just to lay down for awhile and only hear you. Just you, no screaming and cussing from the other Two V’s, and no interruptions. As much as he loves building his power and fame, sometimes he needs this to recollect and can get back to working on whatever he was doing with a much more eased mind.(´∀｀)♡

Now! As for dancing and such, he loves watching you glide across the floor with such ease. Whatever dancing or way you move he’ll always find some elegance in it. And as much as he’s into new interventions, and the new “day and age”, he does love to indulge in this old slow dance’s. Look! Hear me out! He’s not old timey, more like appreciates the closeness, and how nice it is to just hold you and slowly dance around the living room, or his office once everyone is out of course!

even if you think no one’s watching he probably is, and as much as he loves to have a certain image of himself to show to the public at all times. He can’t help but put it away when he’s just focusing on you when you guys are alone. He’ll stare at you for how ever long just doting on you in his mind.

sometimes he spaces out cause all he can think of is just you, only you, and trust me the teasing he reserves form Val and Vel is outta this world.

they will never let him live down the time he buffered and glitched because his systems and inner fans were over heating just thinking about you.

if he is every away for business purposes, when he’s sure he’s completely alone, he’ll pull up his phone and dial you up so you can calm him down with your voice. This will NEVER be admitted form him, cause only the lord knows how Val and Vel would absolutely use this against him in a teasingly bullying way. Yea he’ll do everything just so they could shut up. I feel as though even if he’s proud to be with someone with such an amazing voice like you he’d hate to share it. He loves stomping and showing off to other people, but something like this he just wants to himself, he knows it’s selfish, But this is Vox were talking about, he wouldn’t care.

late nights always end up with him or you on one of each others chest as you hum him to sleep. He finds it comforting to have you near and to know you’re next to him!.

and here and there he’d let you sit on his lap or just next to him as he works. You don’t have to hum, but if you do lord knows it helps the man so much he just doesn’t understand, sometimes he thinks it’s genuinely some type of magic because of the way you make him feel so easily calm.

and yes he dose have a recording of your singing but you won’t see it reach the light of hell cause he keeps it for his own use. A bit creepy? Yes!, but somewhat endearing! Hehe..(｡•́‿•̀｡)💧

his love for you is very much unmatched, and as ironic as it is you always seem to make him lose his breath around you. He doesn’t see you as a weakness but in the same vain is terrified at the possibility of losing you, his only comfort. Sometimes he stresses himself out so bad at the thought of people using you against him or you leaving him, he has problems and most of those he’s not willing to admit he has. Even if you’re powerful, and can take care of yourself he still always finds a way to worry sometimes and at times like that you just have to remind him you’re there. Verbally or physically, but you can take a guess at the best way to sooth him
