He remembers that place, the upside down, where he’d died, right? ‘cause he was dead, he didn’t imagine that. Dustin sobbing on him begging him to stay with him, the demobats, the pain that spilled through his body like wildfire until it didn’t. Then he woke up, all alone, terrified, stuck. No Dustin, or Steve, or Nancy, everyone left. He doesn’t know how long he was there, time moved different, it could have been days, or weeks, months even - there was no daylight, nothing but a barren wasteland of crimson and black. He saw her there, found her when he was looking for a way out, she looked different to how she does now, he’s sure she was dead too. And now they were... here, back in Hawkins, in the real world, alive.

Eddie nods, a wild look in his eyes, as they dart around the room, anxiety creeping up his spine whenever he thinks too hard about that place, the one that haunts him in nightmares, wakes up screaming, drenched in sweat and terrified he’ll end up back there again, or worse, that he’s still trapped, and he’s hallucinating being back in the real world, though granted if he was hallucinating he’d like to think his subconscious would send him somewhere less fucking bleak than a town that hated him. 

“Yeah, uh -- you remember that too? I feel like I’m going crazy -- all the fucking time.” he huffs out a dry laugh, nervously hiding behind his hand, big doe eyes looking at Barb, she looked pretty in the real world, no sunken eyes, or hollowed out cheeks, no blood or vines - thank fuck, if he saw another damn vine in his life it would be too soon. “You -- you look different, less uh -- dead.” he laughs, shaking his head, because fuck that sounded insane, all of this was insane  - “ sorry, I dunno why I said that --fuck  coming back from the dead really fucks with your already questionable social skills.” he’s giggling nervously like a maniac now, great, now she’d gonna think you really are crazy.

I have donated approximately 2583 items to the local museum and singlehandedly revitalized the town community center. There are rumors I can talk to junimos. I'm friends with the local wizard

Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket.
