BUT. MOST MEMORABLE OFFENSE IN MY MIND. IS THE FACT SHE'S CANONICALLY SAPPHIC (yay) AND IT'S WRITTEN FUCKING WEIRD (nooo) SO. there's an arc where she gets separated from geralt for awhile and he's trying to find her (with a fun little found family btw. while she's like. having the greatest suffering of her fucking life and she's ALREADY lost her grandmother to war and fire atp) and it's the first time she's truly been on her own. she's 15 she's been hanging with him since she was 12 he's been her gruff dad for several years now. so this ends up as kind of a very dark point in her life she first has to survive through this desert and then she gets attacked by bandits??? I think??? older men though which is the main threat. and she's captured and scared and then!! she gets rescued by this teenaged bandit group and this is where it's a dark point in her life bc they are a very toxic friend group for her it's not good these aren't really like. moral bandits like overall her time with them isn't great for her BUT. the first night she stays with them one of the boys in the group tries to assualt her. gently of course. 🙄 but the other girl in the group, (I REMEMBER THIS BITCH'S NAME. FUCKING MISTLE) runs him off but then she ALSO makes sexual advances on ciri SHE LITERALLY DOES THE SAME THING THE BOY DID and CIRI GOES WITH IT BUT IT'S LIKE. current obsession: well, wrestling is always a given. i've fallen out with njpw for months now, but i've been watching more pro wrestling noah instead & i'm loving it tbh

apart from that, i've been watching a lot of Donnie Yen films bc i'm a little bit a lot in love with the old man (60 y/o btw & looks like that, fucking wild man). and by proxy i've been learning a bit about chinese martial arts (wing chun, in particular (a southern chinese style that influenced guys like ip man, bruce lee, jackie chan, sammo hung, donnie yen, etc etc)) through his interviews and stuff.

it's funny that i'm always so interested in "sports" i can't ever physically do & they always have some element of storytelling/performance and coordination... the martial arts to stunt performance to choreography to dance pipeline is all just so fucking fascinating.

i think chinese martials arts has gripped me bc all these 70s/80s/90s films made in china rely so much on pulling off wild stunts and fights without the budget for cgi and equipment. not to discredit the guys that do their own stunts in hollywood, but it's rare and always cause for celebration... in chinese filmmaking it's so normal. and as a result their performances are just so real and visceral. like, i watch wrestling ffs, ofc i'm drawn to films where storytelling and physicality intertwine. you construct intricate rituals etc etc

on that note, i'm really excited by the new wave of stunt performers turned film directors we've been getting. guys like Yuen Woo-Ping (Matrix Reloaded, Drunken Master) are already established in coordinating incredible scenes and stunts, but more recently: Chad Stalenski (the John Wick films), David Leitch (Bullet Train, Atomic Blonde), Sam Hargrave (Extraction), etc. there's a sort of magic lost in all these mainstream big budget marvel superhero and hollywood action films where fight scenes are so easily ruined by a thousand jumpcuts and wiring and fantasy, but these guys are bringing back that special smth, that authenticity and grittiness (not only in their choreography, but in the filmmaking and cinematography of those fight scenes too). it's so refreshing & i’m fucking nerd sorry

not so much an obsession, but i've also developed a new, old appreciation for woodwork (carving, whittling, joinery, etc) & in another life i think i would have loved to be a carpenter...

My stupidest, minor-est, thought ever about Space Cop:

In the movie they brought up the sort of biogel the aliens use to look human, and I really genuinely thought during the fight between Grigg and Space Cop that Grigg was gonna get his face partially burnt or smth and the narsty biogel was gonna drip from his face. and you could see the alien looking texture underneath. idk in all those 80s movies they love so much there's always some drippy goo special effect for no other reason than It Looks Cool

he calls them "two stars," "nonsense," "silly," "stupid," "not that good" and other things in that vein. he talks over them and then is confused by the plot and asks me to explain. he doesn't bother to remember character names which i know a lot of ppl don't do but it really feels like he doesn't care. he gets up and walks away a lot (he says it's bc he grew up in the 80s he knows how to keep up w a show when he comes back) but it's like "i'm showing this to u bc i love it and often at least one of the characters is someone i see myself in. this is how i communicate who i am right now and you're walking away"

nimona, moon knight, the last wish, we bare bears, our flag means death, what we do in the shadows, luca, the list goes on and on. this has been happening for years. several times i've been scared to show him smth i'm really into bc i know he'll make fun of it. After this happens i'm left super anxious and stressed. like i can feel my heart racing and i'm breathing like i'm running. he knows how important these things are to me but still makes jokes abt them. i used to just ignore them but lately i've been trying to challenge him on them but in a joking way so i don't get in trouble and it hasn't worked

he's also banned me from talking abt these special interest shows multiple times before bc it annoys him and my sister. every time this happens i say ok, feel like i can't breathe for up to an hour, try my hardest not to cry, and then try to stop talking abt it. it never lasts very long tho, maybe a couple of weeks and then i can't keep it in. there's never any repercussions after i start talking abt it again tho so that's good. i don't think they've noticed how it affects me or how i try to listen to them. if they have, they haven't said anything

also he touched my arm today during a conversation with my sister. that's whatever, it's normal, it was just a casual touch on the forearm to signal that he was talking about me. i made a face and rubbed where he touched me w my hand bc i don't like it when ppl touch me. he jokingly said "ok autistic kid." Which... has it's pros and cons. Pros: this is the first time he's acknowledged that i'm autistic since i've gotten back from school, he remembers that i told him i don't like it when people touch me which is a symptom of autism, he has possibly done some of his own research into this? idk Cons: idk that just felt like a weird thing to say? like why would u feel the need to say that? idk. I didn't know how to react so I said "yes" and then we moved on

In this one, Hungary is visiting Austria, he's sorry he couldn't pick her up. He offers her some hot chocolate, followed by cookies he bought that have a new flavor. Unexpectedly, Austria very casually feeds it to her, which is extremely "moe" (like a specific kind of cute) to her. She's all blushy bc of it and thanks him, and he says the cookies are pretty good.

Austria caught Hungary climbing up a tree and is scolding her because he cares for her safety (I think because she did it while in that dress but it could just be in general). She responds that it shouldn't bother him as long as she's still doing her job. He says that's not the problem, and despite wearing a dress/skirt she still acts the same as she did before, and then asks if it was her own choice to be feminine. She gets angry and says it's because she likes it, though I think she later reflects on how she doesn't particularly like it "but…"

They're out on a date, Austria asks about the ring Hungary is wearing, she's wearing it because it's a "special day" (anniversary). He asks if she wants to eat at their usual spot or a more fancy restaurant. She says it's a luxury enough to be together on their anniversary. She notices he's wearing gloves, takes it off and finds he's wearing the ring too. He refers back to what she said, that it's because it's a special day but is embarrassed lol

Hungary is asking Austria if he prefers short hair or long hair, he goes up to her, touching hers, and says he likes it like hers and she's all embarrassed

Oof, this one is embarrassing, Hungary asks Austria what he wants for his birthday, he tells her not to worry about it, she tells him not to say that. Then she basically makes the joke "new sheet music, gloves… or me?" It was just a joke but Austria chooses her and they're ofc both embarrassed and she spills the tea. She asks if he's serious, he asks if there's smth wrong and "isn't it okay?" but it seems the embarrassment overtook him and he asks if she can close her eyes.

Austria is trying to wake Hungary up but she's in a deep sleep. She wakes up finding his coat thing on her, wondering if maybe he went to the kitchen. As she puts the coat on, she laughs, noticing that he has a really slender body as it fits her well. She finds and hugs him and says welcome back, he says she's late to it and she apologizes in a giggly manner.

This ofc takes place right before their scene in the Halloween episode. Hungary is asking Austria if she can carry him (like a princess hold ig). Austria is saying that she certainly looks strong enough to do it, he's hesitant about it, but notices how excited Hungary looks (she's thinking that it'll look so cool), so he gives in and says "I'd love to"

I don't really get this one but NyoAustria asks NyoHungary why he's sleeping on her bed. He says welcome back and is trying to give an excuse, saying something like he was accidentally cleaning his blanket? (probably off.) She knows he's lying, so he becomes nervous but she moves on to assume it's because her bed is warmer. He then thinks smth like "Austria sure is stupid"

Miguel loves your smile. He’s a funny guy and he thinks your smile lights up a room so he makes it his mission to make you laugh as much as possible. If you have some crooked teeth, he thinks it’s adorable. Also, looking at your smile makes him think about your lips which just makes him want to kiss you.

Yes, after he gets a stable job. He would love kids but he doesn’t want to be like his dad and end up abandoning his family so he would make extra sure he could support the child and you and makes a conscious effort to be there for his family no matter what. Asking about their day, being involved in their sports/clubs/hobbies, making snacks when they have friends over. He just wants to be the Cool Dad ™ and would probably try to teach them karate before they could even sit up.

He loves to have you sit between his legs and lean back against his chest so he can wrap his arms around you and make sure you’re always safe and warm. It’s the perfect position for movies, video games, deep conversations, baths. He will also often come up behind you at a party and hold you like this if someone is hitting on you or if you look uncomfortable or bored. He loves fun dates. You both have always found fancy dinner dates really awkward. He likes something where you guys can move around, do activities, and just let loose. Miguel first knew he was in love with you when you met his family for the first time. They invited you over for dinner one night and he told you his Yaya didn’t speak much english, so you asked him to teach you some spanish so you could talk with her. It wasn’t perfect, you made lots of grammar mistakes and really only said a couple sentences to her, but the effort you made combined with the smile on Yaya’s face made him fall absolutely head-over-heels.

If you already speak spanish, it would be seeing you talk with his Yaya and joke around with her over dinner.

The most gentle boy on the face of the Earth. Like I said earlier, Miguel keeps his hands to himself unless you tell him otherwise. The first time you guys kiss, he barely moves a muscle. Even now, when he’s teaching you karate, he refuses to hit or grab you, so you honestly don’t really learn anything lol and if you’re sick or sleeping, he’s like a feather, so scared to disturb you. It’s like touching a kitten honestly

All. The. Time. He’s not too big on PDA, except for hand-holding. This is how he lets everyone know you’re taken without seeming possessive or gross. Miguel will grab your hand at the mall, at school, while y’all are cuddling, at the beach, literally whenever you’re in arm’s reach from him, he’s holding your hand.

I = Impression (What was their first impression?)

Miguel’s first impression of you is that you’re this bright ray of sunshine. He’s drawn to you like a magnet. Your eyes, your smile, your laugh! And when he finally works up the nerve to say hi (Strike first!) he thinks his heart might actually melt. When you actually laugh at the joke he makes and hold out your hand to introduce yourself, he turns bright red and can barely speak omfg this poor boy. But luckily you think it’s sweet and keep talking to him.

He did at first, we’ve all seen how he acts with Sam and Robby, but you lay down the law. You have to tell him that it’s not cool, it makes people uncomfy, and then he finally starts to work on it. Now he’s better. He still feels jealous sometimes, but he trusts you and can control himself a bit more.

K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

So your first kiss. You were giving him The Look for like 10 minutes straight and he never made a move. He just stared at you. So you had to be the first one to actually lean in, but once you did, he met you halfway. His kisses match his personality. Sweet, gentle, and goofy, but with a more dominant, aggressive side if you know how to bring it out ;)

L = Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)

He did. After you had dinner with his family and he realized he loved you, he told you almost immediately. This boy just wears his heart on his sleeve. He was walking you home and when you got to your house and turned around to kiss him goodnight, he had a funny look on his face. When you asked him what was wrong he kind of went ILOVEYOU! Really fast and you had to make him say it again slower because you thought he had a stroke or smth lmaooo but once he took a deep breath and said it more clearly, you jumped on him and kissed his whole face and said it back a hundred times.

When he first introduced you to Sensei Lawrence. He thought Sensei was gonna be super mean and make fun of you, but turns out you guys had a lot in common. You loved 80’s rock music, and responded to his sass with even more sass. Johnny almost couldn’t believe Miguel was able to get such a cool babe. You guys all had lunch after taking a tour of the dojo, and it was a super fun day! You all drove around in Johnny’s car with the windows down listening to Guns ‘n Roses.

Miguel spoils you in his own little way. His family isn’t as fortunate as others, but he still finds ways to make you feel special. After college, he takes you on a hike up to this ridge overlooking a lake. It’s fall, the leaves are changing colors, and there’s no one around. You guys have been holding hands the whole time, but his hand is super sweaty even though it’s like 50 degrees out. You guys finally get to the top of the ridge and he grabs both your hands and tells you all the things he loves about you. This boy basically recites your whole love story, and as soon as he sticks his hand in his pocket you know what’s going on. So. My job. My fucking job. Y'all, I'm--

I work at a warehouse with office supplies and even tho it was - and still kinda is - the height of their season, so super busy and very hard physical job (responsible too when packing orders) I even kinda enjoyed the job. But. BUT. They decided to move to another building. In the Middle of the Winter. Y'all.

There's no heating there.

And thank god it got warmer this week, but still - it was 9C outside and inside it was colder. And mind you, it's a Huge steel-walls warehouse. My knees started killing me like 3h in. They're still very much hurting, tho this one guy - who only came about for a lil bit - stood with us for a bit and He went out of his way to get us some heating, like this gas-tank fueled mini-heater? Dunno what's it exactly called in English. And our boss keeps saying he won't turn on the heating - there was a problem earlier with it but I think it might've gotten fixed today? - because there's no need. Like. The Fuck???

I'm so exhausted I might need to cry it out of myself. It's just how I react whenever smth gets Way too much - and Im the "suffer in silence" type, like the more Im hurting, the Less I talk and interact with people, so it's not like someone at work will notice that my knees are absolutely killing me. And I Know it's like 80% bcs of how fucking Cold it is there - and tomorrow I'm supposed to spend the Whole day there, 10h or more, if they decide to push us. I can only hope that little heater will make it at least somewhat bearable, but it's--- it's gonna be So Fucking Cold at 7am there... I dont even have that special thermo wear or whatever I'm---

Well. I need to make myself some food for tomorrow, 'cause boss lady got other some cheap sousages, lmao, but I dont eat meat, ao need to have dinner with me to even survive, and then I'll have maybe an hour for myself before I should go to sleep, bcs I got maybe 3h at best today and I should at least try to get some more and maybe hope it's gonna make it like 2% more bearable xd

People who are writing a story about Sokka should tag that story as SOKKA CENTRIC. It’ll give ur fic more love, and make it easier for ppl who love Sokka to find a fic about him. Also, on tumblr you see all these great analyses on Sokka, with theories like Spirit sensitive!Sokka, or Sokka working for the white lotus, and yet there are hardly any fics on it??? The untapped potential?!?! We also have no idea what Sokka does in the future (still salty LOK) so this gives us a lot of room to imagine and create stories! Like I need a fanfic on how Sokka does wtf??? You’d have thought that with this atla renaissance and people gaining a new found respect and admiration for Sokka’s character, that there’d be more Sokka focused fics, but nope :( 

I’ve noticed that those who like Sokka don’t contribute to the fandom fic wise and guys we gotta step up (like I’m one to talk lol I’m gonna try and write some fics I swear!) 

Also if you still want more Sokka fics I suggest searching in the tags bender Sokka, water bender Sokka, and fire bender Sokka. I also suggest that you go to fanfiction.net. I know it’s old, but so is this fandom, which means a lot of fics are there too. It’s easier to wade through the fics on fan fiction.net than AO3 simply bc of how little tags you can put there, so if Sokka is tagged, you know he actually plays a part in the story (no shade on AO3 I love it but sometimes it’s hard to find stuff bc the tagging system relies on the people knowing how to use tags, and the avatar fandom does not, but that’s bc it’s old)

Anyway, LOVE SOKKA MORE and don’t forget to reblog and let other ppl get access to these fics bc I know I would have loved it if someone made an entire list! (And organized it lol I never thought I was capable of organizing)

mmm idk if I have any now but since they’ve been in my life for so long there have been times when I get annoyed with one of them for a little bit. I know kpop stans are supposed to like, STAN, their idols and always defend them and everything but sometimes in the past one of them would say something that I didn’t agree with or smth and I’d get annoyed by them for a while, if that makes sense. but I always came back around, esp as they changed and I changed as time passed.
