since I don't sell much through my Actual Website I'm thinking of switching to a cheaper platform and just like using pa*ypal invoices or something when someone wants to buy from me directly...idk I make almost 90% of my sales thru et*sy so even tho they are Evil I wanna keep my shop active there bc it's essentially free marketing vs me having to promote my website. and since I don't have the time or energy to get serious about my website anymore I think I need to find a solution where I'm not flushing money down the toilet

While I still don’t like Jon, I do believe in archiving as much of his work as possible (it’s not  like he was going to do it himself anyway).  I don’t know how you went to google and said “it doesn’t exist” when clearly it does, but it does prove how little people actually know this thing’s mere existence if a google search couldn’t find the results.

Technically, the comic has two names: The Chronicles of Ademar and Lily the Panda. Although, the last one is more of a name for the web domain than a comic title. To put it simply, the premise of the comic looked like it was going to focus on Lily the Panda and Buckley Bunny, two personal bodyguards of the royal Ademar family in the kingdom of Ademar. The two of them have a simple dynamic of Lily being a self-serious and devoted samurai despite her young age and Buckley being the more reckless but seemingly dutiful bunny rogue of the pair. The two definitely would have met their fair share of threats, mysteries, and maybe slight comedic situations with various one-off or recurring characters and ongoing threats and gotten to know the world and its people more in the process.

The problem with this is that even with the comics, it’s still just nothing but a proof of concept for a series either made in Ponikvar’s spare time or for a college assignment he did in the past, especially with how the art contrasts with the tone of the comic pages. He mentioned at one point that he was going to make The Chronicles of Ademar into a series, with the mention of a first issue and a full book no less, until he had to put it in storage for an indefinite amount of time until either Peter and Company or Peter and Whitney ended. Something as you can see we know isn’t going to happen with how plans have changed after the web domain was eventually lost. You can pretty much find a little more info on the concepts of this project on the old site through the wayback machine in general, right here:https://web.archive.org/web/20140614161713/http://www.lilythepanda.com. You can also find it through his Furaffinity and Deviantart accounts. Personally, I would’ve liked to have seen the concept to be realized, but seeing Jon’s many many many…… issues I doubt the results would be favorable if the idea was realized.

As interesting as this is, I am not going to riff it. It's still a bunch of really loose and thinly connected concepts that wouldn't make for a good riff.

Game-Changing Sites for Writers

A recent search for a specific type of site to help me build new characters led me down a rabbit hole. Normally, that would make me much less productive, but I have found a treasure trove of websites for writers.

Bring Characters/Places to Life

There are a few different places you can use to create a picture of something entirely new. I love this site for making character pictures as references, instead of stock photos or whatever pops up on Google Images.

thispersondoesnotexist: every time you reload the page, this site generates a headshot of someone who doesn't exist. This is great if you're thinking about a character's personality or age and don't have specifics for their facial features yet.

Night Cafe: this is an AI art generator that takes your text prompt and generates an image for it. I tried it for various scenery, like "forest" or "cottage." It takes a minute for your requested photo to load, but no more than maybe five for the program to finish the picture.

Art Breeder: this website has endless images of people, places, and general things. Users can blend photos to create something new and curious visitors can browse/download those images without creating an account. (But if you do want to make an account to create your own, it's free!)

Find Random Places on Earth

You might prefer to set a story in a real-life environment so you can reference that place's weather, seasons, small-town vibe, or whatever you like. If that's the case, try:

MapCrunch: the homepage generates a new location each day and gives the location/GPS info in the top left of the screen. To see more images from previous days, hit "Gallery" in the top left.

Atlas Obscura: hover over or tap the "Places" tab, then hit "Random Place." A new page will load with a randomly generated location on the planet, provide a Google Maps link, and tell you a little bit about the place.

Random World Cities: this site makes randomly selected lists of global cities. Six appear for each search, although you'll have to look them up to find more information about each place. You can also use the site to have it select countries, US cities or US states too.

Vary Your Wording

Thesauruses are great, but these websites have some pretty cool perspectives on finding just the right words for stories.

Describing Words: tell this website which word you want to stop repeating and it will give you tons of alternative words that mean the same thing. It typically has way more options than other sites I use.

Reverse Dictionary: type what you need a word for in Reverse Dictionary's search box and it will give you tons of words that closely match what you want. It also lists the words in order of relevancy, starting with a word that most accurately describes what you typed. (There's also an option to get definitions for search results!)

Tip of My Tongue: this website is phenomenal. It lets you search for that word you can't quite place by a letter in it, the definition, what it sounds like, or even its scrambled letters. A long list of potential options will appear on the right side of the screen for every search.

For anyone interested in long-term residence in the supernatural fandom, please have some observations I’ve made over the decade I’ve been here. Take it or leave it as you will, but I’ve found all of this info useful over the years I’ve been here.

I wrote this yesterday, and it achieved its mission of identifying the sort of folks who would react negatively to it (i.e. a lot of block lists have been updated), so now that it’s been edited for content, it’s going under a cut (because that is how we do things on tumblr in general, unless we have a deliberate purpose for annoying readers with excessively long text posts) for the sake of people who actually do care about the fandom and its history. If that’s not you or your reason for being here, then keep on keeping on with your own thing, I guess. For those who are interested, there’s a lot of fandom resources some of us have been building for years that you might enjoy knowing about.

First off, I’ve been informed by a few friends who’ve read through this for coherency’s sake that it sort of reads like a *shakes cane from porch* fandom grandma complaint, but honestly... I earned this rocking chair and goshdangit imma rock now. So apologies for any “back in my day” vibes or faint aroma of tiger balm this post might give off. Then again, it’s loosely based on a similar post from 2012 so like... time is a flat circle anyway I guess.

1. There is no such thing as “tumblr famous,” unless you’re referring to the hilarious and delightful fic of the same name (please go read it, you will cackle). Posting Hot Takes for imaginary Clout™ on this site is kind of pointless in the long run. Sure you can post solely for the sake of stirring shit and getting notes, but the majority of the folks who do aren’t long term residents of the fandom. They’re just tourists moving through our little beach town for spring break. If you’re actually intent on moving to this corner of the fandom for an extended stay, please bother to really feel out the permanent residents and understand the culture and general mood of the neighborhood. It bears no resemblance to whatever’s going on across town where all the bars and beach parities are happening, and those loud, drunken revelers are, again, gonna disappear back to their regular lives or on to the next party eventually. That doesn’t mean the fandom is dying, it’s just evolving.

(funny how I had several comments implying that I’m just trying to keep the fandom from evolving with this post, because I sincerely do want the fandom to continue on for years to come, and that is impossible without evolution. We can evolve without self-immolating, though. mostly i included point 1 for an excuse to push ancient but hilarious fanfic on you.)

2. Once you post something here, it’s been unleashed to the fandom winds. You never know where it will end up, or who will comment on it or add to it. Remember that time Misha tweeted the link to the Epic Cockles Love Story post? No? It was wild. That was 2012. They all know we’re here, and how to find us if they want to. Please don’t take it to their doorsteps.

Obviously if someone is being a dick on your posts, please feel free to block them, but the whole entire point of this site is to engage people with your posts. Being big mad that someone reblogged your post with comments or supporting evidence, or happy headcanons or “HECK THIS IS GREAT BECAUSE (insert personal story about their experience or whatever else made them Feel Things about your post)” is frankly ridiculous. If your goal is to avoid any sort of engagement with your posts, then maybe try instagram instead. From what I understand, there is a SPN fandom presence there, and nobody can tarnish your original posts with unwanted commentary. But the ability to reblog with additional commentary is a FEATURE of tumblr that builds community through conversation. Otherwise we’re all just talking to ourselves in a vacuum, and that’s what actually kills fandoms.

(and for the folks who just want to blog how they want to blog and don’t want people to engage on their posts at all, please feel free to block anyone you want, as well... nobody wants to step on your toes, but most of us also don’t want to walk on eggshells wondering if this post is one of the “do not add comments for any reason” sorts of posts, either. This is a huge fandom and most people can’t even begin to keep track of every creator and their url du jour, and what their personal rules might be regarding interaction with their content. Including a “please don’t add comments” note at the bottom of your posts-- and not in your tags that won’t even show up on reblogs, but in the actual body of the post-- would sincerely help avoid any awkward or unwanted interactions, too. At the end of the day, you are in control of your own fandom experience and the block button exists.

For the record, I block zero fandom blogs (which is why I posted this, I wanted it to reach a wide scope... refer to the opening paragraphs as to why).

3. Since this post was partly inspired by a tag I left on that post going around about how “previous tags” mean fuckall on this site (which you can read here), just a reminder that if you like someone’s tags or feel they add value to the post, part of the Peer Review structure of tumblr encourages you to PASTE THEM INTO A REBLOG. If you do this, then at least credit the person who actually wrote the tags! Don’t just copy someone else’s tags into your tags on your reblog of the post without credit either. They were not YOUR tags. (I have had this happen to tag rambles I wrote and someone else got credited with them on a subsequent reblog and it is FRUSTRATING). Just... don’t even bother to write “previous tags” because WHAT PREVIOUS TAGS?! Nobody is gonna bother to chase back the chain of reblogs trying to find where the mystery tags came from, friendos. That way lies madness.

(for the record, since some folks seemed to focus on this point solely, writing “previous tags” on a post isn’t inherently a BAD thing, but for anyone who actually is here for more than one-off shitposting, then it’s sort of a pointless thing in the long run. This wasn’t intended to suggest people who ARE here for one-off shitposting are bad or “doing it wrong,” but for people who might actually want to preserve that hilarious joke or insightful comment. People delete posts and entire blogs all the time around here. Links break. I get that the upcoming generation just shrugs at that and moves on with their lives, but heck... you don’t have to accept that all entertainment is disposable if you don’t want to. There’s a bizarre sort of nihilism plaguing us all about the impermanence of pretty much everything that feels like something we should be fighting against rather than buying into wholesale, even in our escapist entertainment. I’m just exhausted by the complete loss of joy in community.

*shouts from the peanut gallery* IT AIN’T THAT DEEP, JUST GET SOME FRESH AIR AND LOOK AT A PUPPY OR SOMETHING

Yes... yes it isn’t really that deep, but bigger picture in the state of reality we’re all entirely disillusioned with, are we supposed to just give up on everything, including the things we cling to because they bring us a tiny spark of hope that we’re not all just trapped in this dystopian nightmare and things might actually be worth living for?

Okay... you do you... I feel bad for you but if that’s the case then this post is NOT FOR YOU. AND THAT’S FINE. I honestly do not care if you don’t care! I mean, I’m sorry anyone has to live in a world that drives them to that mindset, but I understand. This post is for anyone who might look at their lives and their choices and think “no wait, I unironically enjoy this and want more from the experience of that enjoyment than I’m currently feeling.” Everyone else can continue with their lives as usual.)

4. CONTENT THEFT IS NEVER OKAY. PERIOD. Things like “credit to the artist” or tagging gifs or images you found on pinterest as “not mine” isn’t actually credit. If you can’t source an image or gif set, DO NOT POST IT! We don’t REPOST (i.e. save an image and then create a new post with it as if it was our own creation). We REBLOG (click the little square arrows and reblog from the actual creator). That goes for gif sets, fanvids, screencaps, meta, fic... everything.

(hopefully everyone here already understands this one, but I felt compelled to include some “these are stupidly obvious” reminders anyway, since this is ostensibly some sort of advice column. This is the equivalent of the warning label on your toaster reminding you not to use it in the bath. Like... duh...)

5. Close kin of item 4 is SOURCE YOUR SHIT. 

(for 100% disclosure purposes, I specifically discussed this one in this specific way because of an influx of anon ask messages I received in the wake of the finale. Literally the inciting incident for creating this entire post was what I can only assume was a joking ask about a comment Misha made at a con years ago. Someone actually bothered to take the time to type out those sentences to me. I have no idea what they were expecting in reply, or what could possibly motivate them to send this comment about something so entirely random from, again, several years ago. Just a joke? No idea, but whatever... it got me thinking that there might actually be people who are new to the fandom who MIGHT actually care about the fandom history, and maybe they just don’t know where to go for that info, or how to even begin searching through 16 years of history for things they might actually find enjoyment in, rather than just hauling random out of context garbage out on main and pointing and laughing about it now. People are actually allowed to care about things. It’s not cringeworthy to actually care about things, and you are not alone in actually caring, and there’s this whole big room over here full of people who are thrilled to share in that with you. This post is intended FOR THOSE PEOPLE SPECIFICALLY, so if that is not you, please just continue walking by.)

Yes, I know lots of y’all are new around here right now, but dredging up stuff from years ago that fandom has completely debunked and presenting it as TRU FAX again is just exhausting. We’re not trying to be party poopers, but seriously, we have seen it all and are mostly done with extinguishing bags of flaming dog poop on our front porches for the umpteenth year in a row. I’ve seen a lot of posts that have the same tone as “I saw Goody Proctor dancing with the devil” or “I heard kylo ren has an eight pack” and just... the information is there for anyone who cares enough to find it.

This goes double for “why is nobody talking about this thing I just discovered while watching the show for the first time?!” And, oh hon, we have talked it all into the ground over the last fifteen years. We’re happy you’re discovering it again, but I promise we talked about it plenty when the episodes originally aired. We have such a rich meta history that lots of us have worked really hard to preserve. I encourage you to seek it out, if nothing else than as historical artifacts. The way we have discussed the show has been a 16-year evolution. People have written literal doctoral dissertations on this show. Your shitposts are fun! We love reliving our own experience through fresh eyes, and seeing your wonder at experiencing it all again for the first time! But y’all didn’t invent this fandom in the last six months, either.

need to find a gif of something? canonspngifs is a vast repository of gifsets of the entire series. If the gif you want to use in your post happens to be the first gif in the gifset, in the tumblr gif finder thingy just paste the permalink to that post from canonspngifs (which is easily searchable by episode, character, location, situation, quotes, and sometimes even color and clothing items the actors are wearing... it’s really well organized, especially for tumblr >.>) and the first gif will be automatically linked with credit to the gif creator attached. It makes life easy that way. It’s also convenient when trying to remember something specific but can’t remember what episode it’s from. I’ve used the site to jog my memory before going to the superwiki armed with more specific search results to find episode quotes and references. Or sometimes I just scroll through all the nice gifs for fun, too.

Need a screencap of something and know exactly which episode it’s from? Try Home of the Nutty. You might not find the exact screencap you’re looking for, but they have a complete set of caps of every episode, and it’s an incredibly useful resource for quick reference checks and the like. Just give pages a chance to fully load before clicking on the next one. The site is easily overloaded, but it’s still free to use (and again, with credit... Pretty much every screencap on my entire blog is from HotN unless otherwise credited).

As you can see, this is a fandom built on preserving our history. You absolutely are not required to engage with any of this if that’s not of interest to you, but I can only assume that there are people who would be interested in it if only they knew it existed and how to find it. Well, now they do.

6. A few more notes on tags, and how they work on tumblr. The first 20 tags on your ORIGINAL posts are searchable sitewide, so if you want to be able to find something again, tag that thing first before going on general tag rambles. The only place tags on reblogs are searchable is on your own blog. So you don’t have to put 50 tags trying to get a post seen if it’s a reblog. You’re just spitting into the wind at that point. If you have a filing system for finding things again, then by all means add those tags (again, in the first 20, so they’re searchable), but you don’t need to tag a reblog “destiel” and “deancas” and “dean” and “cas” and “dean x cas” or whatever. Pick one for your personal blog’s filing system, that’s all you need.

(this was only added because tagging and searching on this site is so very broken... I get that a lot of folks don’t care about ever searching their own blogs again for anything, so this one only really applies if you do often find yourself trying to find old posts. If not, then it’s not really relevant.  It took me years to work out a decent tagging system, and at the beginning of my time here I never thought I’d end up camping out here for a decade and falling this deep into the fandom, and I regretted my lack of consistent tags only years later when I realized I actually wanted to be able to go back and find specific old posts again. So... for anyone who wants to err on the side of caution, working out a sensible tagging system really helps if you’re here for the long term. I personally tag content by episode, because some of my other general tags are so large as to be practically useless as a search term. But whatever system you choose to file stuff on your own blog, it really only has to make sense to you. And again, if this is pointless advice for someone who has no intention of settling here for the long term. Please feel free to ignore it. I just wish someone had explained it this way to me ten years ago and saved me the hassle of retroactively tagging something like 30k posts... especially now that using the mass tag replacer is the fastest way to get your entire blog deleted... oops? so yeah, don’t use the mass tag replacer either >.>)

7. Tags on Tumblr DO NOT WORK LIKE TAGS ON TWITTER. If you @ someone in the body of the post, it will show up in their notifications (if they’re the sort of person who even checks their notifications... not all of us do. For the record, I generally don’t...), but putting actor or ship names in the tags on a tumblr post does absolutely nothing. It’s not the same as tagging the actor’s twitter account in a tweet. Nobody’s getting notifications about you tagging a post about Jensen here as “Jensen Ackles.” There is a difference. Please learn it. (and don’t take headcanons and ESPECIALLY RPF or otherwise explicit art or fic from tumblr to twitter and tag the actors in it. That’s just... not okay.)

(I have seen the pearl clutchers getting all in a huff about the mere existence of RPF or even explicit content of fictional characters if it doesn’t meet their purity standards, but tagging those things allows people who don’t want to see it to actively avoid that content here. Nobody has a right to tell people their fictional content shouldn’t exist at all, or that creators of that fictional content somehow deserve harassment or threats for having dared to create such “immoral” content, won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children... and no... you do not do that here. Don’t be the problematic behavior you wish to ban from the world. Learn to use tags to protect yourself from, as i have attempted to emphasize here, fictional content you are personally upset by. That’s a you problem, not a problem for the creators of potentially upsetting content that they tag appropriately for.)

8. General formatting stuff: If you’re writing long text posts, visually break them up so people aren’t faced with one long wall of text. The enter key is your friend. Also, if you put long text posts under a Read More break and send people to your blog to finish reading, please ensure that your blog is actually visually accessible (tiny text, or light grey text on a dark grey background, or a visually busy background might be aesthetically pleasing to you but nobody can actually read it. Loads of folks won’t even try. Which is great if you don’t actually care whether people are able to appreciate your content or not, but something to at least consider if you *do* actively want to encourage engagement with your work. Confirm how your blog looks on both mobile and desktop and make sure it’s actually functional in both, too).

And since I mentioned that most of my experience on fandom tumblr has been in the SPN fandom, here’s a bit of a reminder for folks who are new around here. With the reminder that I have been here more than a decade and still feel like a newbie myself sometimes...

This is an OLD FANDOM. There are many, many people who have been at this longer than some of you have been alive. The average age for creators in this fandom is older than you think (I think of my friends in their 30′s as young’ins okay? okay). With that understood, you are responsible for the content you consume and are exposed to. Curate your experience. Ship and let ship. YKINMKATOK. Don’t deliberately expose yourself to content you find upsetting for whatever reason. Tags and warnings are your friends, not targets for you to attack in some sort of purity war. People will ship things you do not like (or in specific ways you do not like), will say things you do not agree with, and will find their happiness in things you abhor. That is not your concern. Find what you do like, and support and engage with it, and ignore (or block, or unfollow) the rest. Tumblr has a feature that lets you blacklist tags so the content you’re trying to avoid won’t appear on your dash.

Remember the paradox of tolerance.

It is not your job in fandom to police how other people enjoy the fandom. It’s not *my* job to police how *you* enjoy the fandom, UNLESS your enjoyment is in actively harming other real human beings in the fandom. If you don’t like their take on the character or the show or the plotlines or their ships or anything else, you don’t need to engage with their posts at all! The necessary corollary to this is that clarifying misunderstandings or correcting factual misinformation is not “policing.” 

(this is where the peanut gallery reminds me it ain’t that deep, and I plead with them to put down the social media and find just one (1) thing to actually believe in in this godforsaken life, find something other than disdain and cynicism and spite to live for. If those things motivate you to find a larger cause for yourself, then great, use them to your advantage, but use them to find something that makes you a better person or brings you a modicum of joy and connection to your fellow human beings despite living in a dystopian hellscape of a world)

I have seen a lot of posts lately that are founded on the sort of authority that comes with “I watched through tumblr for a few months and then watched the last three episodes of the series” and as such are just... missing the larger context of the entire show, and are unfounded entirely in canon. I 100% appreciate the new enthusiasm for the fandom that we’ve been living in here for years, and it’s wonderful to see new people enjoying the thing we love. Your headcanons are valid, you are valid, but recognize that your headcanons aren’t canon. All of us finale denialists have accepted this in some measure, so we feel you. We truly, truly feel you. But regarding actual canon, we have a resource for that: the Superwiki. Learn it, live it, love it, as Metatron would say.

(and again, there have been people who have been involved in fandom for years who haven’t engaged with canon in years, either! You can play in this universe however you choose, BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT CANON AT ALL, WHICH I AM AGAIN POINTEDLY SAYING MIGHT NOT BE YOU, READER, AND I’M NOT SUGGESTING YOU ARE WRONG FOR NOT WANTING TO ACTUALLY ENGAGE WITH CANON, but if you DO want to engage with canon, please have some useful resources. Why do people feel personally attacked by being presented a list of helpful resources? Absolutely baffling.)

(also: words have definitions. “Canon” is a specific thing, meaning in this case “the finished media product that aired on television.” Anything beyond those limits is secondary canon (think: john’s journal, which is not canon but canon adjacent at best...), word of god (i.e stuff said by the writers and showrunners), or headcanon (which includes actor commentary-- they may have helped create the show with their acting choices and whatever, but they are not in control of the story overall). If there’s something you dislike about actual canon, you can reject it and supplement it with your own theories or preferred outcomes-- that’s basically what fanfic is-- but that doesn’t make your theories canon (much to all our dismay, that’s just not how any of this works. This is not to invalidate how anyone engages with the show or the fandom, just trying to clarify what seems to have been a source of unintentional misunderstandings. Your theories do not have to be “canon” to be legitimate interpretations.)

***I am setting this section apart, and did make a separate post of just this following information, because this is where we go from being relatively chill about different parts of fandom choosing to interact in different ways and you do you and blog however you want, to “hey can everybody please understand that the way you are interacting with this specific material might be harmful for specific legal reasons, and stating that you do not care about the consequences of your actions does actively make you the asshole here...” Okay, now that we have that understood:

The spnscripthunt collective has been steadily acquiring new scripts (which are posted in full on the superwiki for everyone to enjoy, for free). The language around how some folks are talking about these scripts is... concerning. For very real legal reasons, actually, and not because we’re feeling precious about the collection and don’t wike it when meanies use them in shitposts.

-First off, these scripts are not “leaks.” They are all verified and legally purchased (or gifted, in some cases, but still acquired entirely above board. we didn’t whack anyone over the head in a back alley for these scripts, or swipe them out of someone’s trailer on set).

(in case anyone was unaware, these scripts are the copywritten protected property of Warner Brothers. So yes, how we use them and share them with the fandom could have legal repercussions. We present them as a collected resource of fandom history which SHOULD fall under Fair Use doctrine, but this is untested legal water. Insinuating that the scripts are somehow not entirely legally obtained, or that posting them for public access involved less than 100% transparent and entirely legal transactions is incredibly concerning.

Once again for the peanut gallery, if you don’t care about any of that and are just having a good time with it, at least be mindful of the work and expense a large group of people have gone through to acquire and present the content you’re all too eager to exploit for cheap thrills. Some of us do actually care and are not exactly comfortable with the fact that others don’t seem to care about burning it all to the ground. -Also, the usual reminder that the scripts we acquire ARE NOT NECESSARILY THE FINAL SHOOTING DRAFTS. In fact, the majority of scripts in our collection are NOT. Changes are made daily to scripts, even during filming. Comparing a Production Draft (white pages, effectively the first “final draft” of what usually becomes a series of drafts before filming wraps) to a much later revision (say... green or goldenrod revisions, several of which we DO have in our collection for comparison) and how those earlier drafts often differ wildly from the aired version versus how similar a much later green draft is to the aired version, for example, can teach you a lot about the television writing process. The link above to the superwiki scripts page has a nice little explainer about how this process works.

Differences between our posted scripts (many of which are white drafts, aka FIRST complete drafts, which will likely go through multiple rounds of revisions before filming even begins) and the aired version of the show are not all “acting choices” or a director or editor just cutting whole scenes on a whim. It’s insulting to everyone involved in production to suggest that’s the case.

(and yeah, fine... whatever, make any sort of posts you like regarding how those changes came about, but at the very least understand that it’s not actually the truth about how any of this works. Don’t care that that’s not the truth and want to make the posts anyway because shitposting is fun and that’s the extent of your sense of humor? FINE! You’re entitled to do that! But at least you DO know the truth now, and hopefully so do the people who engage with your posts. Deliberate ignorance isn’t cute, smooth lions notwithstanding)

There’s probably a whole other post to be made on fandom tagging etiquette, but again I don’t really use the tags enough to know what’s going on with that whole situation. I’ve also probably left a lot of stuff out, so please feel free to add things I’ve overlooked.

Your breath caught in your throat as you jolted upright with a gasp. Your eyes scanned the room as realized you were awake and it was just a dream. A nightmare. Inhaling a few deep breaths, you attempted to control your breathing. Dropping your head into your hands and rubbing your eyes, as if to try and erase the images you saw.

You felt the bed shift beside you, and a quiet sweet voice rang through the silence.

“Y/N,” Two gentle hands found your body, wrapping comfortingly around you, “Are you ok?”

You simply nodded in response. You hadn’t looked at him yet. You were terrified that if you did you would just see flashes of what had woken you up only moments ago. It looked so real, it felt so real. But it wasn’t true, Peter was here, he was ok.

“Nightmare?” He asked quietly. A nod was all you could muster. “Do you want to talk about it?”

You raised your head finally, your eyes finding his in the dark. Reaching a hand out to cup his face and stroke his cheek, a sad smile donned your face that was meant to reassure Peter.

“Not really.” You whispered back with a shake of your head.

“That’s ok. Come here.” He beckoned you back into his arms.

You laid in silence with your head on his chest, listening to the smooth, melodic beating of his heart. Something was weighing heavily on your mind, Peter knew that much.

You propped your head up against his chest so that your eyes met.

“It’s just so unfair, for the universe to bring into my life the perfect guy at the most imperfect time.” You spoke suddenly.

“Maybe life’s not so cut and dry like that. Maybe there will never be a perfect time. Maybe we just have to make due with the time that we’re given.” Peter suggested.

You didn’t answer, you were lost in your own mind. Replaying the events of the last few weeks.

“What are you thinking about?” Peter asked, moving his fingers into your hair, finding your weakness.

“How none of this would have happened if it weren’t for that article.” You spoke with a guilty tone.

“You can’t know that, and now we can’t change that.” Peter tried to comfort you, since when did he get so mature?

“But I don’t want to-“ Your voice broke as tears began to well up in your eyes.

“Don’t want to what?” Peter asked, scanning your face in concern.

“Say goodbye to you. I just want to stay right here in this bed like this forever.” A stray tear slipped through the barricade and slid down your face.

“But you can’t. You can’t stop living just because of one slip up.” Peter tried to reassure you, swiping his thumb across your cheek to catch the tear.

“I just want to be with you, I wish it could just be as simple as that.” More tears began to spill now.

“Our lives will never be simple. I shoot webs and fight bad guys. You make technology that literally kills aliens. This isn’t simple, but it also doesn’t have to be. We can be perfectly complicated.” Peter smiled, trying to cheer you up, trying to give you hope.

“What if perfectly complicated means we have to wait for this press frenzy to blow over before we can be perfectly complicated together again?” You asked with a frown.

“If you think that’s what’s best, you know I’d wait however long for you.” Peter smiled a sweet, naive, hopeful smile. You sighed in response.

“That’s what I’m worried about! I don’t want you to press pause on your life for me. And what if it happens again? One picture, that’s all it takes, and we have to start this all over again.” You argued.

“So what do you want?” He asked quietly, pushing himself up slightly.

“It’s not what I want, but maybe what we need.” You answered quietly.

“And what’s that?” Peter asked, his tone and demeanor changed, as if he was preparing himself for your answer. As if he’d lost hope that this would go in his favor.

“Maybe we need time. Like a month or so, long enough for this to blow over. A month where we both get to live our separate lives. And at the end if we decide that it’s something worth fighting for— we give it a shot. Press or no press.” You suggested.

“I assume we wouldn’t be able to see each other during this month.” Peter asked, disappointed but understanding.

“Not unless absolutely necessary. Like emergencies or something.” You shook your head.

“And business? About the suit or something?” He asked once more.

“Happy’s still your point guy, you should probably just go through him.” You replied.

Peter sat quiet for a minute. Each growing second of silence made you more and more nervous waiting for his reply.

“Alright.” He nodded, and you smiled. He was giving this a chance, you were both giving this a chance, a fair fight, “Now would you get up here so I can kiss you? If this is my last night with you we’ve got to make it one to remember.” Your cheeks flushed at his forward ness.

“Bold of you to assume I could ever forget you Peter Parker.” You smiled sweetly, before your lips reunited.

At 5 am F.R.I.D.A.Y. raised the electronic sunshades in your bedroom, letting in the early morning glow. You groaned as her voice filled the room, informing you of the time.

“It should be a crime to wake up this early.” Peter whined in a groggy voice.

“I agree,” You mumbled as you nuzzled into him, your head on his chest, tracing shapes with your anxious fingers. An unspoken heaviness hung around the room. You were both trying to make these last few moments last. One of you have to break the growing silence.

“I wish it didn’t have to be this way, trust me.” You looked up into his eyes.

“But it does.” He replied in understanding and you nodded.

You kissed him once more, like a prisoner on death row indulging in their last meal.

“Your guests will be arriving shortly Ms. Stark,” F.R.I.D.A.Y reminded you.

The two of you quickly and quietly got ready before walking Peter to the door.

“You’re really something Ms. Stark.” He smiled, standing in your doorway. You both agreed that it would be a good idea if he left through the lobby as Peter Parker, not as Spider-Man through a window.

“That’s Dr. Stark to you.” You smirked, cherishing what might be your last few tastes of witty banter with him.

“Oh my apologies doctor.” He mirrored your smirk and turned to leave.

“Hey Peter, “ You grabbed his wrist and pulled him back, wrapping your arms around him, “I really am sorry. I wish things were different.”

Peter tilted your chin up to him and kissed you one last time.

With an optimistic smile, he said, “Who knows, maybe one day they will be.”

You welcomed Linda into your apartment not too long after. The first thing she did was squint and examine you, and you just knew a comment was coming.

“You look tired.” She raised a brow, the nerve of this woman.

“It’s 5:30 in the morning.” You retorted.

“Hm.” She scanned you up and down once more, “Well hair and makeup are on their way up, nothing some concealer and a hairbrush can’t fix.”

You sat in silence for the next hour, nearly nodding off every five minutes while your hair was pulled and your face covered.

Once the magic had been done Linda fiddled with your hair to make sure it was just the way she wanted it. A knock on your door pulled her from her trance, and the look on her face shifted: showtime.

As she pulled the door open with a smile that was far too bright for 6:30 am, you recognized the infamous Executive Editor immediately. You were surprised to see him, considering this wasn’t the site of a swanky new club opening or new age gallery party.

“Taylor Antrim, Vogue. It’s a pleasure to meet you Ms. Stark,” He spoke with a smirk as he stuck out his hand for you to shake. He exuded confidence, and you didn’t know whether to be intimidated or impressed.

“Y/N, please.” You smiled, taking his hand in yours. Two could play this game, you smirked back mirroring his cocky demeanor.

“Just wait until you hear his idea, it’s amazing!” Linda raved as we all took our place in your perfectly staged living room. She already knew? Of course she already knew, you thought, it was probably her idea in the first place.

“We want you to wear the dress.” The Editor spoke with an excited smile.

“The dress?” You asked carefully, fearing you already knew the answer.

“Your gala dress.” He answered, as if it was obvious. Your eyes grew wide. They took your silence as an opportunity to try and sell you on it, “As a show of strength, you’re fighting back. You’re rising above. A phoenix from the ashes. Regaining power over your trauma and not letting it rule your life. Just like you said- not letting them win.”

“But-” You tried but were cut off.

“It’s shocking, it’s new, it’s perfect.” Taylor spoke with expressive hand gestures.

“It’s torn and bloody.” You shot back, “Don’t you think that will be a little too... gory?”

“No no no. Picture it- Your hair and makeup is going to be fierce, edgy. You’ve got the dress, with the ripped slit up the thigh. It’s sexy, its powerful. Then pointed directly at the camera, you’ve got the Iron Man hand. You’re taking control; of your life, of your destiny, over the people who did this.” He laid it out for you, mimicking the movements and the pose.

You looked over to Linda and knew... you didn’t have a choice.

“Hey Youtube, today we’re here with Y/N Stark in her new stunning 5th Avenue apartment. Why don’t you start the tour.” Your interviewer motioned to you with a cheerful smile. Maybe this wouldn’t be too bad, you thought.

“Right this way!” You welcoming them inside with a sultry smile, “So now, obviously, we’re in the living room. Over here we’ve got the kitchen. But we’ve got two options. Down this hallway, we've got a gym, an office, and a little lab where I’m working on a few new projects. Or we could go this way towards the bedroom, closet and terrace. Up to you.”

“We hear your closet is to die for! Why don’t we start there?” She spoke, tugging the camera man in that direction. Typical. No one cares about the tech you develop in the lab. They care about how many shoes you have.

“Let’s do it.” You laughed, doing your best to hide your annoyance and play your part.

After a mind numbing few hours of getting footage of your entire apartment, you were finally free... somewhat. You had one of your planned outings with Thomas soon that you weren’t entirely dreading, though that’s mainly because who had a plan of your own.

Phase one: Dinner at a fancy restaurant known to be a spot rife with paparazzi.

Phase two: A stroll around 5th and into the park, arm in arm with some tipped off paparazzi following you around.

Phase three: Thomas inevitably invites you back up to his place after. Here’s where you’d usually decline and make up an excuse, but you needed to fast track a few things and knew this was the perfect opportunity. So you surprise him, and accept.

As Thomas ushers you into his house with a hand on your lower back that drops once the door was shut, you knew this was the best time to act. While his back is turned locking the door, you slip a bug onto the side of the entry table so you can easily snatch it on your way out. That will work on hacking into the wifi and any accounts affiliated with the network. You estimate it will take about 25 minutes to collect all the data for you to comb through once you return home. Now you just have to wait.

Thomas turned back to you, suspecting nothing, and offered you a drink. You declined as the two of you entered into the main sitting room. He was about to speak and fill the silence when his phone rang.

“What channel?” He spoke into the phone, picking up the TV remote and switching it to whatever channel someone, probably a publicist, was telling him to.

The volume began to blare as he adjusted it, and the sound of your name caused you to whip around and face the screen.

“Y/N Stark said herself that Thomas was over at the time of this Spider sighting. Is it possible that the answer is as simple as that? Thomas De Blasio is Spider-Man?” One reporter spoke, sounding very convinced at this frankly absurd conspiracy.

“They were both at the gala!” The co-host joined in, fueling the fire.

You stared at the screen in disbelief. As if things couldn’t get any worse, someone started a rumor that Thomas is Spider-Man. How could people even believe this? How could he possibly swing into the gala from the outside if he was already inside, cowering behind you might you add. But you also know that now a days, people don’t care about facts, they care about entertainment.

Surely his father, the mayor, wouldn’t want to be associated with a vigilante, these rumors have to be put to bed.

“Thomas, this isn’t good.” You turned back to him with a stern look.

“It would actually be kind of cool, all the attention I would get if I came out-” He tried to continue put you cut off his attention whore daydream.

“No. You have to deny this. Spider-Man is a...  vigilante. You can’t have that connected to you and your father's campaign. They’d put you in jail, they’d make you sign the Accords... I don’t know, but none of this is worth it when it’s not even true.” You started to ramble but had to catch yourself before you let on more than you’d like.

“Uh fine, you’re right. But who’s to say they’d even believe me if I denied it.” He raised an eyebrow with a smirk, obviously loving this public attention right now.

“I’m not your publicist, I don’t know.” You shot back and turned back towards the screen to see if they’ve changed the subject yet.

“Whoever he is, you’re really trying to protect him, aren't you?” Thomas spoke, and your jaw dropped slightly. Maybe he wasn’t as dumb as you thought.

“What are you talking about?” You whipped back to face him, speaking with an angry tone, attempting to deny his correct accusation.

“Spider-Man.” He stated, like it was the most obvious thing in the world

“I don’t even know him.” You shook your head, and tried to make your tone sound as annoyed and convincing as possible.

“Sure you don’t. You can keep your secrets, whatever.” He rolled his eyes. Now you were really set off.

“I’m the one with secrets?!?” You yelled, motioning towards him with your finger,  “You’re the one who used me- for years! You told me you loved me. Was any of that real?”

“Ok fine. You want the truth?” He yelled back, but the more he spoke the less angry his tone got and the more genuine it sounded, “The truth is that it started as a set up, yes. But along the way... yeah I started to fall for you. You’re more than just a pretty face, you’re smart and good. I didn’t want to hurt you.”

You shook your head and rolled your eyes. Turning your back on him once more.

“You know I was really worried about you after the gala. I saw you get hit and I didn’t think you were going to get back up.” He approached you, laying a hand on your shoulder.

“Well you were a big help cowering behind me while I stood up and fought.” You smacked his hand off as you turned around to retort.

“Well thank god Spider-Man showed up.” He spoke, not without insinuation.

“Why would someone even attack a campaign fundraiser?” You asked, looking for a shift in his eyes, to see if he knew something... but you saw nothing. You attempted to compose yourself, you couldn’t let your emotions get in the way and accidently expose your true motives here.

“People are crazy, this is New York baby. Come on, let’s have a drink, stay a while.” He motioned towards the bar, clearly wanting to get off this subject.

You heard F.R.I.D.A.Y. speak into your earpiece, “data retrieval complete”. Perfect timing.

“Can’t, I’ve got a million applications to read for the Internship Program.” You spoke, not dropping your slightly annoyed tone as you made your way towards the door, slipping your bug into your pocket, and Thomas didn’t suspect a thing. That’s what happens when you’re taught sleight of hand by Natasha Romanov.

As long as people continue to underestimate you, this was going to be a breeze. They’d never see you coming.

Actually, I had made it since March 2020 when I lost my job due covid, but I haven’t had uploaded anything on it because, honestly, because I felt so tiny when comparing my work with some of the pro artists that are there! XD

Have you seen most of those people?! Mon Dieu!! There’s some mindblowing art in there!

I’m a pro too though, since a pretty good time. So I think I just need to work on my self-steem and value my work more, so I think (well I hope at least ) that my work can match the art level the site has. And I think it will, because just today I posted these two illustrations I made and I already have a follower, that is also an illustrator and concept artist.

I’m not sure if it’s better to put my artist name (atrixfromice) or my actual name...I’ll think about it.

I just I don’t feel comfortable with posting my name or face due a bad experience I had. When I joined on deviantart, my parents told me “don’t post photos of your face nor personal information”.

I was a bit naive, I took the advice of my parents and I didn’t post personal info, but I was enthusiastic about the site and I wanted the people who liked my art to know me better, so at some point I tested to post my actual name on my dA account, and I had as an ID a photo of my face.

But on 2008, a weird user came to my gallery and started to harass me sexually saying I was so pretty and I made him horny, and asking me if I could give him nude photos of me, and he asked me art requests and got mad if I couldn’t do them, also he thought he had right to say what I could post on dA and what I couldn’t, and other things I’ll can’t say here...And he was from a country near to Mexico, so it was a bit scary he could easily travel to stalk me or something, if he would have liked to.

I blocked him and reported his comments as spam, and he made new account to talk with me again, so what I did was to take down my photo ID and real name, and I stop posting art for almost two years. In hope he thought I left deviantart and he forgot about me. And fortunately it seems like he forget me, because I haven’t seen him since a pretty good time. I still have his dA notes in case he comes back and I need to report him though.

But well, since then I don’t post my face or real name on any of the places I use. Just to be safe. But Maybe I'd like to post my name but not a photo of me.

I don’t know why 3rd season songs aren’t included in that list because they are available on the site.

The music is NOT available in the ￥300 course.

The ￥500 course can access songs from 1st season to 3rd season, and can create up to 10 different playlists. (You can have a total of 120 minutes only per playlist)

The ￥800 course can access songs AND BGM/karaoke from 1st season to 3rd season, and can create up to 30 different playlists. You can also access Tenimo special playlists here. 

PREPARATION

Before registering, you will need to prepare your name in Katakana, a japanese address (including postal code), and a telephone number. 

They do not have to be yours. Things will not be sent to the address and the telephone number will not be contacted. However, if you have a relative or a friend who lives in Japan, and you would like to subscribe to the mail magazine or buy tenimyu tickets, then I would strongly advise you to borrow theirs. 

If you do not have a japanese address and phone number, just look for japanese hotels or something on google and copy their address and telephone number, or use whatever you did to make a jp account for downloading Tenirabi. MAKE SURE THAT THE ADDRESS IS WRITTEN IN KANJI.

The problem with the smaller towns is that they don’t have a lot of members. And because dating is a numbers game, you really need to have a large mass of singles ready to mingle in order for any of the sites/apps below to deliver results.

Here are a few more things to keep in mind about dating in Indonesia:

Public displays of affection (e.g. kissing, making out, etc.) are a big NO in Indonesia.

Many women (especially outside of the big cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Medan) are waiting until marriage to have sex. Whether a woman is waiting or not is a case-by-case basis.

Don’t be surprised if a woman asks you to meet her family very early on…within a month of knowing her.

Should you decide to sign up for the online dating sites I recommend below, be sure to read member profiles carefully as you might come across a lot of fake profiles. Usually, I can spot these profiles pretty easily. A woman who has only one picture posted, is wearing a tight bikini and making an overly suggestive pose are usually clear signals to steer clear. Another clue of a pretender is a woman who has a poorly written profile. As a general rule of thumb, the more boring the profile, the more boring the person.

IndonesianCupid is the best dating site in Indonesia. No other site has found that good balance between quality, size of membership, and affordability.

IndonesianCupid is part of the Cupid Media Network, and thus sports the same clean website design, easy sign-up process, and great communication features as other Cupid Media sites. Detailed profiles and effective anti-spam measures add to this site’s strengths.

Unfortunately, IndonesianCupid seems to harbor a fair number of sketchy profiles, who will message you immediately after signing up, without visiting your profile. Avoid these few bad eggs though, and you will enjoy using this site.

Sign up Process

Signing up is a pleasantly brief process, with only your Facebook account or your name, gender, password, and email required as a first step. Next, just share a few words about yourself and what your ideal partner would look like, and you’re in.

At this point, you can either finish filling out the rest of your profile or start searching for that perfect match right away. When you get around to finishing your profile, get ready to spend some time doing so, as there is a lot to fill out. Some of the questions in the Personality Profile section are repeated from the Profile and Interest tabs though, which feels like an oversight.

How to Locate Potential Matches

When looking through your matches, you can view search results in four ways: photos only, photos and basic information, photos, basic information and a short blurb, and by full profiles. You also have many options for narrowing down your search, including searching by: age, location, and education, body type, ethnicity, lifestyle choices (smoking, drinking, etc.), marital status, whether they have kids, religious views, even their star sign.

How to Communicate with Other Members

Basic messaging on IndonesianCupid has a few options, none of which very useful if you’re looking to genuinely connect and communicate with other members. You can “send interest” to and favorite other members, which they will be notified of. However, if both of you are Standard members, neither of you will be able to speak to the other.

You can send messages, but not read them, as they’ll be “locked” and blurred out. The one upside here is that communication features as a premium member are fantastic. Audio, video, and IM are all available, and have proven to be invaluable features for ensuring match compatibility before meeting in person.

Unique Site Features

One of my favorite features on IndonesianCupid is the opportunity to filter who you receive messages from. You have many filtering options, from age and location, to nationality, religion, ethnicity and more.

While this feature will typically be more useful for women, as they tend to receive more messages than men on dating websites, I personally found this feature extremely useful for filtering out spam messages.

AsianDating strives to connect people together who are from Asia or mostly of that continent’s background, although you don’t have to be Asian to participate. While the majority of users are from Japan, Thailand, Philippines and the nations around it, the site also attracts many users from Europe and the United States.

Most of the male users on the site are between the ages of 35 and 44 and fill up a majority of the premium accounts. Female users mostly have free accounts and range anywhere from 25 to 44-years old.

Sign up Process

Young christian dating app. The sign-up process doesn’t take more than five minutes and is free of charge. You can sign up separately or through your Facebook account. All you need to do is fill out your basic profile information, such as age, gender, region, and other complimentary details, and then upload a photo so you will get more views, although it is not mandatory to upload one.

After your photo is uploaded and the sign-up process is complete, the AsianDating staff will review your profile and alert you when your profile has been approved and is ready for use. Once your account is verified, you will receive a verification badge. On average, the process takes no more than a few hours.

How to Locate Potential Matches

There are no restrictions on being able to view other members’ profiles as you search. With a free account, you are able to view others members’ profiles and send them hearts if you are interested, which they will be notified of when they sign in.

AsianDating is great in that it allows you to elaborate on yourself and truly show your personality. When you sign up, you can talk about your lifestyle, your cultural background, and your interests, and other users will see that when they view your profile.

I like this because it means there’s more than just a picture. It makes sending messages easy when you know a little bit about a person before messaging them.

AsianDating is easy to navigate. You can filter your results by age, gender, and region, and results will show up on your screen. It’s very simple, and the design makes it convenient for you to browse around.

There is also preference-based matching which are matches that show up on your screen when you log in based on your profile. If AsianDating sees someone compatible, they will let you know. One problem could be finding very users around you. If you’re not in a big city or are outside of Asia, very few matches will likely show up around you.

How to Communicate with Other Members

One of the caveats of AsianDating is you can only message someone else if you have a premium account or a person with a premium account messages you. However, once the messaging process starts, there’s no limit as to how many messages you can send back and forth. If you are a free member and contact someone that is also a free member, the message will be locked until one of you upgrades.

Premium members can also communicate with other members in the site’s chat room which displays a lot of topics, and users can enter and meet other members through chats.

AsianDating doesn’t have as many standout features that other sites do. It’s pretty simple and straightforward, but there are a few things you can do on the site that is noteworthy:

The Message Translation option is huge and may be the best setting on the site. This allows you to communicate with others who don’t speak the same language as you. In other words, a man from New York who speaks English can communicate with someone who speaks strictly Japanese. It is a feature that other apps should also add in an effort to gain users. You must have a premium membership, however, to access this.

As we mentioned above, the chatroom allows you to meet others through conversations on a topic. You must be a premium member, however, in order to enter the chatroom.

The first step is to download the Tinder app from either the Apple or Android store. Once you have the app on your phone, use your Facebook account to sign up for Tinder. While it is possible to find a workaround to sign up without a Facebook account, it is not possible to sign up without using your phone number. Tinder pulls all needed profile information from your Facebook page, so you won’t need to fill in any of your details. This is a benefit to Tinder over other apps on the market.

How to Locate Potential Matches

When you swipe right on someone, if they had already swiped right on your profile, a match is made. You get a notification of the match, and a prompt to send them a message. If you don’t want to right then, you can bypass this. You can return to this match later by going to the chat icon located in the top right portion of your screen.

Potential matches are given to you by Tinder’s algorithm. Those appear on your home feed when you open the app.

If you wanted to search for someone in particular, that isn’t really possible. It is one of the few flaws of this platform.

How to Communicate with Other Members

Once you match with a member, you can message him/her. Without a match, there are no messaging functions on Tinder. The lack of ability to communicate with other users is one of the more frustrating aspects of the app.
