hii thank youuu <3 ik we already talked about my valgrace thoughts but i thought why not share the long winded version here too!

firstly yes! i just posted my doodle of them here and i definitely wanna draw more of them in the future bc they’re very cute

despite me drawing them and reading fics and all that i don’t actually ship them? sorta? i’m more of an unrequited valgracer. i fully think leo was in love with jason from the moment they met with the way he talks about him and praises and admires him. my personal favorite moment is when he landed on calypso’s island and his first thought was “it would make sense for her to fall in love with jason. he’s so hot and strong” like brother you found out about a eternal love curse and your first thought is your guy best friend?? homosexual behavior. also his flirty behavior with everyone is so bi coded i can’t see it any other way bc that character trope is one of my favs (ie. lance from voltron, sokka from atla, steve from stranger things, all the same characters in different fonts to me)

jason on the other hand is completely aromantic (+bisexual) to me and i cant see him having romantic feelings for anyone. i think a little bit bc of nature but mostly due to nurture and camp jupiter and trauma. (i’ve been wanting to make a post going into further detail on why with evidence and stuff but im lazy.) but therefore he doesn’t return feelings for leo and just sees him as a best friend. i think jason would be attracted to people who are of equal power to him (piper, reyna, percy…) now don’t get me wrong i think leo is insanely powerful and smart and talented, top 3 of the seven stuff, but the difference between him and the other three is his lack of confidence and his outward self deprecating comments i think unknowingly jason would see it as a sign of weakness because of how camp jupiter raised him. even piper is insecure with her powers but outwardly she radiates power and confidence

both their stories individually are already so tragic when it comes to life and relationships and this just makes it even more so. i think leo deserves someone like jason who loves him for who he is and accepts all his quirks and neurodivergencies (another reason i think leo would latch onto him) but i just dont think jason can be that person for him

for zero dollars i am going to talk about the boys’ individual singing talents now because im stuck on their performances at prom night ok here we go

to start, let me clarify by saying that i myself am a singer. i come from a family (multiple generations) of singers and musicians. my mom taught voice, violin, piano, and guitar in my home growing up. it’s just ingrained in my dna, ok, but this aint about me. just know that I know what im talking about as i get into this

im really only gonna touch on the four main singers (fourth, gem, ford, and satang) but all of them have their own unique qualities and im super impressed by their live performances. singing live is HARD. singing while dancing??? HARDER. and they held up for four hours, two nights in a row. i don’t. i cant - WOW ok

so of the main four, satang, ford, and fourth lean tenor, and gemini has a bass voice (more later). let me start with satang.

THIS BOY SINGS. RIGHT. IN. HIS CRACKING RANGE. HALF THE TIME. listen, okay, there is a difference between singing in full voice and switching to falsetto sometimes than singing in your cracking range. satang has to switch between full voice and falsetto almost every other note. that is HARD. it takes serious work and practice, and slip-ups are near impossible to avoid. he also has a soft voice, and in his case, when in this cracking range he does his best when he sings low and quiet, and is more likely to crack or slide the louder he gets (fourth is exactly the opposite of this and it makes me nuts in a good way. more later). satang also has very good vibrato, and the way he uses it helps him keep control of his voice and can even disguise the cracks and slides he does have. all this being said, you have to seriously appreciate the work he has done to sing so well at the concert. please watch his part in “healing” and go insane with me. when satang is in his full voice range he does his best singing loud, but this is what i wanted to focus on bc i am so proud of him because of how tough it is. 

ford also has a soft voice, but his control comes when he sings loudly. lower pitches are more difficult for him because he has to sing softer in order to hit them, and sometimes, when singing live, that means he can get too quiet to hear. but when he’s in his range and singing full voice? ohhhh my god he kills it. he rarely misses a note. just watch his performance of “come closer”, that’s all you need to know. his vibrato isn’t as good as satang’s but he has a good ear and that makes him so fucking good at harmonizing!! ford also has a very strong and clear tone when singing in falsetto (this line in “stand” showcases it perfectly) - whereas gemini’s falsetto is softer (but just as strong). 

GEMINI. first of all, this guy has so much control over his voice it actually pisses me off. i hate him (i LOVE him and im DELIGHTED by the way this live show was able to give his voice the spotlight it deserves). okay so earlier i said gemini has a bass voice, and that’s true - while talking. he has a stellar tenor singing voice, and his voice is very soft, but very clear and strong on those lower notes (thank you “you’re blushing”). and because he has that low range, his falsetto actually becomes better, bc it means when he sings high notes, he is far far away from his cracking range. it's barely noticeable when he switches between full voice and falsetto. his vibrato aint the best live when it’s unpracticed, but he rarely slides (unless it’s on purpose). he can blend with anyone, he’s very good at harmonizing, and damn he just has a sweet sweet falsetto (featured here and in. basically every song he sings. note that gem sings "hook" mostly in falsetto and fourth does it in his full voice, alongside each other; linked below)

FOURTH. let me start by saying i am the most impressed by his live performance. i am now obsessed with his voice in a lot more ways than i was before. so i mentioned earlier that he’s the opposite of satang, in the sense that he is more likely to crack, slide, or miss hitting a pitch when he’s singing quietly. but he’s also the opposite to all three of them, because where satang, ford, and gemini all have soft voices, fourth’s voice has a very clear tone right off the bat. this makes his approach to singing vastly different from the others. his falsetto is good, but when fourth sings loud? HE DOES NOT MISS A SINGLE NOTE. this boy can BELT it out in his full voice, and that includes both high and low notes. oh my god it is insane. LISTEN. TO. THESE. RIGHT. NOW. OK? please drink some water boy ilysm. 

the fact that fourth spent those four hours, two nights in a row, singing in mainly his full voice, and absolutely kill. ing. it. the whole time is THE most impressive thing to me. do you know how much energy it takes to sing in your full voice for a long time? can you imagine how much MORE energy it must take to do that WHILE DANCING? do you know how much control over his breaths he has to have for that??!?!?! AND TO STILL SOUND THAT STRONG AT THE END OF THE SECOND NIGHT. i dont care. he’s everything to me.

honestly they all are. this is getting long so im gonna wrap it up but i have never enjoyed a live performance more in my life. these boys are so talented it's insane and gmmtv is lucky to have them.

Do you think the revs ever… well not regret taking sabo in but realize they had no clue what they were getting themselves into? They fish this poor boy out of the water and expect to be dealing with a sad little wet beast scarred in two ways by the world maybe with the drive to fight back and instead 5 years later have to consider if Cthulhu herself wasn’t letting her kids go for a swim and if they accidentally stole one because this thing can’t be human.

Do you think they have to disclaim to the fish man revs this is not normal human child behavior?

Yes to all that, but I think they also realize the positives outweigh the negatives in many ways.

I like to think that sabo is the rev's golden boy. Like they watched him grow up from just a 10 year old boy and progress so much to the point where he's been awarded the title Chief of Staff.

So this is what Wikipedia says a chief of staff is. What im getting from it through my terrible reading comprehension is that the one with this position works with planning, but mostly with the people of any rank. They make sure their staff is operating at optimal levels and is happy and content.

Solving problems? Mediate disputes? A confidant/advisor to the chief executive?

Sounds like this guy is just the bestie of the army. It sounds like to me, that this guy does such a good job at making people perform their best because he knows how his besties work. And in turn, his besties are like “i love this guy actually. He might be really fucking weird and he also might not have blinked in like a good 20 minutes, but he understands all of us. He takes the time to know us and appreciates us on a personal level. I feel like with this guy around we can do anything.”

And if there’s ONE THING we know about the revolutionary army, is that inspiring people is what they’re all about. That one scene with Belo Betty is a great example of the rev’s way of victory. They inspire people to fight for themselves.

The Rev’s don’t have millions of staff members, they only have one base. They cant be at every single place they start a revolution in to protect the citizens from what comes after revolting. So what they do, is they to teach them that they can be their own heroes, how to sustain by themselves, and most importantly, HOW TO UNIONIZE!!!!!

AND THATS THE FUCKIN BEAUTY OF SABO OKAY????

Sabo is a force of nature and the rev army’s bestie. He may seem stupid and impulsive, but the reality is that he does what needs to be done with no hesitation. ok so i do enjoy asuka guiltygear but i have been thinking REALLY hard about asuka tekken as of late so we're talking about her today

favorite thing about them:

ok so legally i have to mention asuka's tekken 8 design because motherfucker WHAT were they thinking with that one. what the fuck was the inspiration. but i love it so much i cannot lie

other than that, i really enjoy her rivalry with lili and how moderately insane that bit has gotten, and i like how they've kept her a character who is a) defensively focused in her gameplay even among the generally aggressive play of t8, and b) has a generally down-to-earth feel to her despite. Everything. happening in tekken

least favorite thing about them:

so i was actually talking to a friend about this recently and she explained my feelings really well, its like. asuka feels like the protagonist of another story that isnt being told.

it feels like she has so much stuff that COULD be a really interesting plot focus for her but it just. hasnt been? like everything between her and feng COULD be so neat but its just been sort of...by the wayside for the past few games in favor of keeping up with the mishimas (new sitcom there btw)

This is more of a headcanon for an au nikei i roleplay with some friends but im includijg it because inreally like it. there are multiple other characters who can use magic in said rp and as a result of his experiances with Mikado, nikei is staunchly Anti-Magic. 1. How many works do you have on ao3? 27!! Which still feels fake after having less than ten until like may of this year. 17 are Justified.

3. What fandoms do you write for? I mostly only ever write for one fandom at a time so rn its just Justified. But in the past I've written for Supernatural, Julie and the Phantoms, 9-1-1, Stranger Things, Ted Lasso and The Walking Dead. And a number of ones that have never gotten past wip lmao

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? family we find, I Can't Steal You (Like You Stole Me), i could be found, I could be what you had saved, A Fan Knows, blueboys and teddy bears. The popularity of family we find is baffling to me. Also willow did top five justified too so: such a sight to see and it's all for me, feels like i am floating, leaves my body glowing, body's aching for every single drop of your love, might drive this car real fast until we die, sent you a bag of candy dicks. Those first two both having titles from katy perry songs is hilarious.

I need more gangs for Auro city so I can actually like depict and explore thorn's relationships with the gangs he rules over. This gang is on pretty good terms with thorn. The only other gang i have right now is the hydra gang who acts like they are trustworthy and on very good terms with thorn but in reality the hydra patriarch hates thorn and is secretly conspiring against him. Oh and there is the biker gang who are anarchists and kill the rich and such but they don't really interact with thorn in his crime boss persona because they don't really do big scheme crimes. Mostly petty crimes, vandalism and causing general trouble and being contrarian. So yeah, need to make more gangs and probably design more characters. (moonshine gang is all characters i have adopted in the past except for dolf who is an old adopt i made but decided to keep) Next we have vampire demon lord thorn AU. There is this comic I follow on instagram called beltoria and it really inspired me to make a vampire au version of thorn. This thorn is very much not dad shaped and much more hostile and bitter than canon thorn. it's almost 1 am so i cant really articulate how more messed up he is but yeah there is a lot of angst in this au.

Next there is Rechor's basilisk form! (with bonus ollie who belongs to @blaigoo for shits and giggles because they are friends and blaigoo mentioned ollie would want to ride rechor's basilisk form if she were to see it lmao) this one im not too mad about my brain for working on it as it's the second part of rechor's ref. Rechor's snake form is about the size of a titanoboa so yeah, big cobra boy. He doesn't use this form super often though, he prefers having arms and legs. And finally we have a ref of grin! He has gone through a lot of changes personality wise since his first conception back on colors!3D. When I first made him he was an edgy demon dragon that was insane and highly aggressive and laughed maniacally and all that crap. But now he is just an innocent lil guy who happens to have gone through a lot of trauma and only killed people in the past when escaping his prison and defending his later adoptive brother from suffering the same fate as him. He still has traumatic episodes but more often than not he is more of a danger to himself than to others when in this state. It takes specific triggers (medical environments, seeing and/or smelling scientists/doctors, labratories, needles, feeling like he is in danger of dying or suffering immense pain) to make him go into a demon frenzy aka murder mode but soon after being removed from the triggering environment and being given a calm and safe place to cool down he will return to normal all be it very tired and upset. Grin does not enjoy hurting or killing people, he much rather would draw crayon drawings of his friends and family or having stories read to him or playing with plush and squeaky toys. Because he was kidnapped as a small child and placed in isolation before getting horrible experiments done on him, he is mentally still a small kid, even if he is a young adult physically. His adoptive brother thorn and beck treat him with a lot of love and patience and care, making sure he is comfortable and feels safe and happy.

Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

hmm okay well the thing im currently actively working on (though actively is a really strong word because my job has been Insane lately) is a novel (non-fic) n she is a tiny little baby mollusk just screeching into the world so i dont wanna talk abt her (also working on a non-fic short story i dont wanna talk abt for the same reason n also privacy). but in terms of fic that i currently have open in tabs!!!!

ats season 4 for my faith series - the progress of this is pretty minimal bc im holding off on starting work on it until i make more headway on my novel outline, bc writing these faith fics inevitably takes over my life . but! mostly right now my notes are full of like, rambly ideas about how to Fix the Jasmine of It All because i want Jasmine to be a character but, by keeping connor a baby, and my determination to keep cordy herself, i need to change How she comes about . but ok the thing i love most about getting to rewrite this part is that to me ats s4 is where it All Goes Wrong. like, it's the character assassination of cordelia chase, and the show really hitting a misogyny peak which is impressive when u consider how misogynistic it already was . to me the ats s3 finale has so much promise which s4 inevitably makes mean essentially Nothing -- mostly in terms of the show's treatment of cordy. so im basically really hyped to write an s4 that is very much About cordy - about cangel! about angel working through (read: getting bullied by the entire fang gang about until he does something about) some of his misogyny, to become the kind of person who could be in an actual long-term relationship w cordy. this s4 rewrite said Angel's Madonna Whore Complex is On The Chopping Block . also im just really hyped to write jasmine. like, writing mind-altered states to me is very fun-- i love writing dream sequences and ritual sequences and intense emotions . so writing faith under jasmine's thrall ??? im hyped. also maybe half the reason this series exists is to occasion a faith/gwen fling sooooooooo.

i also have open a russian doll fluff fic - basically nadia and alan do a marathon watch of all the timefucky episodes of btvs . i simply love to Make Characters Watch TV . i LOVE writing their dialogue i love them so much. i love getting to rant about btvs filtered via the voice of nadia . the progress of this is decent !! i have like a quarter written and the rest roughly outlined

also have a VERY sparsely outlined succession fic about shiv being a lesbian . essentially a 5+1 (5 times shiv lost to her comphet and 1 time she didn't teeheeeee) . what im excited about here is simply that shiv roy is a lesbian and the world has to know. and also ive never written a 5+1 but i think the concept is just so fun.

ALSO i have another lottie lee yellowjackets fic in drafts . this is very new, mostly just popping the vague vibe of it and a few dialogue ideas into a document . but basically it's based on the new florence song 'casssandra' and it's going to be like, half taking place before laura lee's death and half after. what im hyped about this one is that lottie's precognizance makes me INSANE it makes me INSANE INSANE INSANE and i really wanna dig into just a very heavy heady fucked up littel tone here . also i just . i love lottie lee but i cant even think abt them and im excited to Think About Them In A Structured (lmao) Place bc hopefully that will make the process more tenable!!!!!!

10. How would you describe your writing process?

i've often described it as "building the ship as i sail it" . i love to outline, it's the way that i can write the quickest and with the most energy -- i like basically having little story headings for plot beats, and writing each segment, bc then i can have in my head exactly what im building towards, and can keep a sense of pacing in my head bc i know what else the story is going to contain . but also this allows me to write things out of order , while still having a general sense of the shape of the overall story, bc otherwise things can get really topsy turvy in my head.

but also im a big outliner-as-i-write. like often i will start out with a few story headings that are very sparse, and as i get the idea for one, ill get a sense of how to flesh out another, and im gradually filling in the whole picture, which each part interconnecting to and allowing me to fill in other parts.

like, i guess i write in the same way i solve crossword puzzles.

23. What’s the story idea you’ve had in your head for the longest?

ooh okay -- gonna keep it to fic bc again my original writing is my Sensitive Little Boy (and also i aim 2 have more of that published n and dont want to connect my tiny internet corner to my public writing, in the interest of current n future privacy). but!!!! the two fics ive had in my head the longest i think are both from my spike fluff series:

a spike and harmony do laundry together fic okay hear me out. early s5 . spike finds out harmony has never done laundry . her parents always did it for her and then her minions and after that she legit panicked bc it felt too late to learn and either paid for a cleaners' to do her laundry or just kept stealing new clothes when her old ones were dirty. but then the cleaners refuses to do her laundry anymore bc she killed too many of them . spike finds this out . he's like. you cant do LAUNDRY? harmony is like what like you CAN? he's like yeah i learned last year at xander's (he's very proud). spike and harmony descend on the 24 hour laundromat . it becomes clear that spike is Very Bad At Laundry Still but Moderately Better Than Harmony . they may or may not break several washing machines from bashing them in a fit of rage. gradually harmony becomes the queen of the late night laundromat demon social scene . this fic means so much to me i could cry. also ive never written spike/harmony before and simply put i think they are so FUN . they are SO FUN.

ok but srsrly (nng. dissolves) i think hes hilarious and also profoundly sad but mostly hilarious. the fact that the guy who interviews five nights at freddy actually has a tragic backstory kills me and then kills me again because all the tragic backstory shit hits so hard. warfstache is like a good friend to me. i love his face and i love his voice and i love his stupid suspenders

i have very strong opinions on my interpretation of his character and i just. love that hes a character 'doesnt understand anything anymore' and whose memories are jumbled and who just does whatever the hell he wants with no regards for logic, but is having the time of his life anyway. i kinda love how he went from his lowest point in wkm to really embracing the dissociation (mark: insanity) that his trauma bestowed upon him. dude he just embraces it. and learns to live well with it

i also love the waia so damn much. the way he proudly declares it as a replica of himself and yet the robot is so fucking traumatised. i like to think he airdropped his trauma into the robot because he wasnt making enough for actual therapy. and warfstache cant dance with this guilt on his shoulders, dammit!

oh yeah and. dont get me started on how gentle he is with abe about the crushing reality that theyre all just playing a role. he eases him through it and keeps him grounded. yeah hes a murderous motherfucker but he doesnt want to see abe go through what he did. hell. hell. hell

ramblings aside i read his character arc as going from a very damaged man (wkm), to ultimately learning that brooding and trying to justify every minutiae will make you go insane. like what he represents. and i think thats very silly of him and i hope his bed is warm tonight

theory with the two protagonists (tommy and ranboo)

with enough theories and tweets by the audience of the dsmp roleplay, i think its safe to assume that both c!tommy and c!ranboo are the protagonists of the storyline. both being somehow affected by dream. but, that's the only thing connecting those two characters together. there is barely any evidence and ideas out there that are able to somehow connect ranboo and tommy without making shit up. (/lh), and having barely or any proper evidence to support that idea. as well, the two protagonists aren't that close. most of their interactions relying on tubbo. the only time we really see/saw them together is right before the exile arc. otherwise, its all kinda nonsense from there. might i also add, they are protagonists on opposite sides of the spectrum. ranboo being a reticent and polite character. he is half endermen and half some other piece of shit (lmao). as shown through many streams, ranboo seems to be filling in for c!tommy. (i just wanted to clarify that this is all role-play, and i am talking about CHARACTER tommy!) living w/ techno and phil like tommy used to, and also having a strong bond w/ tubbo. the thing is, he CANT replace tommy in the story. how? one, the audience will not like that. and he doesnt have that same bad(ass) troublemaker personality. tommy is this loud obnoxious person, that likes to cause havoc on the server. so far, all we know is that he is human and ONLY human. thats it. no powers, no nothing. just a normal human being. he is hated by almost everyone on the server, and severely traumatized. though, they both intertwine things of the lore in different ways. a tale of two cities is connected to the lore because of ranboo.(ranboo is then connected by dream) mostly everything else is because of tommy. right now, i feel like the reason why we aren't getting the best interaction is because of tubbo. the duo before ranboo was there was tubbo and tommy. it would be a bit weird and random to suddenly thow tubbo out of the spotlight. as we saw in tubbos latest lore stream, he starts to open up about his trauma and execution. i may be wrong, but what i think is gonna happen is tubbo is going to be the one to find help first. in order to bring ranboo and tommy on the same path, tubbo needs to move a bit, which is clearly progressing. tubbo is now healing, having a family, and being with the one he loves. now im not sure what exactly is going to happen, since it seemed like tubbo is going to be apart of some type of las nevadas shit. if tubbos streams are more like this, and him being busy with it, this can leave ranboo and tommy together. not hundred percent sure how or what will happen to bring the two together. maybe dream hurts tubbo? they both have an insanely strong connection with the boy, and i wouldnt be surprised if thats the reason they get closer.

now, what else could also be happening is the complete opposite with what i jus stated here. instead of taking him out, they bring tubbo more in the spotlight. since quackity is here, something or someone has to connect him with the big and main plot idea. maybe tubbo is going to connect it? who knows. all i can say is that the dsmp story line is quite confusing, and i'm pretty sure wilbur and dream have an idea where to go with this. i just hope it isn't anything awkward and random. though, my next question is what micheal is going to be apart of the dsmp story line. but with that, we need to see a lore stream with him in it.

going back to the topic, i can definitely tell that tommy and ranboo are going to end up having a closer bond, and work with each other more commonly (this is also me trying to lie to myself that we will be getting allium duo content because i need it). having them interact already and so close on the first day when tommy gave the tour could have to do with something. the flower, and the instant connection that both ranboo and tommy have for eachother. even though tommys took some time, you can clearly tell that it is there, and will only get stronger from here :]
