Okay, I don't want to be that person, but I notice that a lot of people tend to use the fact that Louis is Liam's biological brother to remark on his importance and the reason why Liam would "trust him more than anyone".

And... I highly doubt Liam would make this difference with his brothers. Especially when the Manga (and LNs) constantly remind us that BOTH Albert and Louis are his brothers, and their bonds are stronger than blood.

Yes, he overprotected Louis and didn't want him to die with him (or even kill people), but he also did this with Albert at the end.

Remember that the "original" Moriarty plan, was meant to end with the three of them dying, but it changed because Liam is too good to let his brothers die with him.

In conclusion, let's try to use less the "because he is his biological brother" because it feels a little like biological>adoptive when that's not the case here.

How could uncle Seb not invite them to his activity? I mean, it involved painting and drawing and being around uncle Seb? Obviously, the kids had a meltdown, but luckily, their mothers know just how to save the day (after many cries and arguments with little ones, which can honestly be the trickiest ones one can face).

The group Louis was in were a bunch of perverts and basically forced Louis to be there. That's when he saw you. One girl on your left thigh and a boy on your right. He was amazed how bold you were for doing that. The other men in the group didn't like it and gossiped around "How and why is that man just sitting there normally while a black woman on his thigh and a white man on the other!?" Louis turned around and started at the man. "Why don't you say it to his face?" The group becomes silent until the fat one speaks up "Because that's Mr L/n he owns the club. But I heard that his whole family including him are gangsters."

The couple spent all of their days together. Once Lestat fully trusted Y/n told him the truth of what monster he truly is and showed him how strong he is. Y/n watched as his boyfriend brutally murder a musician because Y/n wanted to hear something jazzy but the musician could only play classical upsetting Y/n. Once Louis finally got home he looked into the living and gasped. Y/n and Lestat naked both covered in blood. "Lestat what did you do!?!" Louis shouts rushing over to Y/n checking for any scars or marks. "Louis my love don't worry I haven't turned him yet. We invited a musician to play for us while we made love. But he didn't play what Y/n liked and got him out of the mood so I killed him to show my loyal devotion to him. Y/n simply told me I looked hot in blood and we began to continue where we left off."

After that met up Y/n and Drew kept meeting each other in odd or normal places. This time Louis and Lestat were around when Drew crossed paths. They were in Y/n club. Louis and Lestat were in one of the open booths where they could see everything and anyone. Y/n was talking to one of his workers that was in his lap just laughing and talking. Lestat had slowly gotten used to all the attention and the platonic love and cuddling that his boyfriend gets from work and out of work. Then Lestat eyes shoot up when hes hears a certain thought "My y/n my beautiful strong Y/n. Maybe tonight i'll make you mine." Lestat tells Louis what he heard and the both of them get next to Y/n protectively having their guard up.

"Y/n!" Drew shouts at Y/n but Y/n couldn't hear him. Lestat and Louis share a look and look at the man. Lestat looks at the man and pauses time so only him Louis and the man are talking and moving. "So you are the man taking all of my love's time most nights---" "Lestat." Lestat turns to face Louis. "You're a vampire?" Louis asks looking at the man's eyes and nails. "I could ask the same thing. And lover! please Y/n has no love I mean you see the women and men basically wearing nothing on his lap and at his feet. If he ever has a love it will be me."

Time starts again and Y/n kisses the back of the girls neck as a comeback later. "Bye boss" The woman says kisses Y/n jaw before going back to work. Y/n looks at Louis tense face and takes his hand and gives it a squeeze before looking at Lestat and gives him a half hug before getting up and tells his lovers that he'll be right back. Lestat stops Y/n and whispers in his ear and Y/n nods in approval and walks away. "Well I asked Y/n could I bring someone over and he said yes. So follow us as we close up the club."

When the club closes Lestat and Louis take Drew into their house waiting for Y/n to come back from whatever he was doing. "Louis! Lestat! Im back." walking into the living staring at the three people in the house. "Drew? Why are you here?" Lestat quickly goes over to Y/n and kisses him deeply and says in french "Salut mortel!" He takes Y/n hand and takes him to the couch to watch "Did you know that your friend here is a vampire and wants you to be his." Lestat giggles caressing and running his sharp nails into Y/n mouth touching his teeth. Y/n playfully slaps Lestat's hands away from him and jokingly tries to bite Lestat. Louis gives the two a serious look and they both stop their childish antics. "Wait! Hes a vampire!" Y/n shouts after it finally registers in his head. "Yes Y/n and that's why we decided to show you one way to kill a vampire." Lestat gets up and picks up the tied up Drew and drags him outside. Drew is already bloody and messed up but screams for his life as they go outside. "The sun is coming up in two hours so you can watch him die a slow and painful death my sweet mortal." Lestat says tying the man up with chains this time. And he hands Y/n a stake with a smile. "Kill him if he somehow escapes."

Hi Marte. I saw a tiktok vid about Kit being forced to CO. It was essentially saying that speculating about someone's sexuality is bad because it's their private business. It mentioned Shawn identifying as straight and yet people label him as gay/bi. Which could easily apply to Louis too. I see this opinion mostly with young people, that if someone states they're straight then we should believe them and not question it. But these people are treating celebrities like regular people when they are closeted for different reasons. Celebrities are usually closeted because of money but the average person is usually closeted because of fear. Kit's situation was unusual but the vast majority of celebrities who have CO have said themselves that they were manipulated into hiding their sexuality. They were made to feel bad about it. Billie said multiple times that she was straight and yet when she CO she said people mistook her queercoding for queerbaiting. She was trying to communicate to her own community that she was one of them and they weren't getting it. Other celebrities have talked about this too, Dove was one. That people didn't pick up on her queercoding. Just because someone is pressured by their team into hiding their sexuality from the straight gp it doesn't mean that they're trying to hide it from their own community, hence why queercoding exists in the first place. To let people know you're one of them. These people who preach about how sexuality speculation is bad don't seem to understand the concept of queercoding. A celebrity, who has their sexuality speculated about often, wouldn't queercode and engage in queer culture if they didn't want to communicate with their community. Don't young people understand or pick up on queercoding anymore?

I think you're right that people don't understanding why people in the industry is closeted. Some apply the same reason they themselves are (or were closeted) to the celebrity. Some people still think it's bad or something less to be queer and think that people speculating is to hurt their favourite. Some people are protecting the celebrity's closet for them because they want their fave to succeed and they don't think they will unless they stay closeted.

Most closeted celebrities are only closeted to the public, because they believe it's neccessary to succeed, advance their careers and make money. Most celebrities wouldn't be closeted if that wasn't a barrier anymore. For a lot of celebrities it isn't a barrier anymore, like Billie. It's a strength and it can actually help you advance your career.

Celebrities know how to balance the queercoding they do and stay in the closet. Some are very closeted and others are in a glass closet. It depends on their situation and how they manage their closet. Trust the celebrity and the choice they've made. There is no need to ignore queercoding and not point it out. If celebrites are queercoding they need fellow queer people to pick up on it and they need that degree of self-expression within their closet. They need the validation and find acceptance in the queer community. Fandom shouldn't guard the closet door for them. Fandom can risk further closeting the celebrity and making the closet harder for them to deal with when their queercoding isn't picked up on and hushed down. If something is visible to you, or information is widely known, you're supposed to see and know about it. Believe me, they do know how to shut something down if they really want to. They've got PR teams for that very reason.

Like i've said before, there is a difference between outing someone and a celebrity feeling pressured to come out. With Kit it was the latter. He was cast on a show with an out queer cast (at least the roles playing queer). The queer community were ecstatic to finally get a queer cast playing queer people and representing most of the lgbtqai+ spectrum. Kit was the only one, or the most noticible one at least in a lead role, to not state his sexuality while playing queer. That breeds speculation. He wasn't giving the queer community representation. He is straight passing. He was seen holding hands with a woman right when the show came out, making everyone think they'd cast a straight man (or at least a straight passing man, who is in a het relationship) in a queer role. That will create reactions within the queer community. So he was put under an enormous amount of pressure to make a statement. If he didn’t want to come out i think he could have handled this differently. But he was very young, is still very young. So it's very understandable how he reacted.

It isn't and it will never be wrong to speculate if a celebrity is queer. Because being queer isn't bad and straight isn't the default.

Hanna Lillian Helland

Born: July 4th, 1904, St. Louis, Missouri

Hanna's parents along with her siblings immigrated to the US from Norway before she was born, but they would often travel back to visit family during her childhood. So despite being born and raised in St. Louis, Hanna can understand and speak norwegian. The visits stopped when she was a teenager and she wouldn't go back there until she became an adult, but even then the visits was very rare.

Her father was an alcoholic and would often get drunk and neglect Hanna and her siblings, one day her mother had enough and after a bad fight, her parents ended up getting divorced and her father left the family.

She didn't have friends for most of her childhood because she was scared of approaching people she didn't know. However when Hanna was 10 years old, she would meet and become best friends with Rocky. He always there for her and she was there for him in return. Hanna considers him a brother and would bring him along to family events whenever she got the chance.

Hanna had a mostly happy childhood, with lots of love from her mother, siblings and her best (and mostly her only) friend.

Due to being lied to and betrayed during her teenage years by people she considered friends, Hanna lost trust in most people and would appear stern and unapproachable as a way to protect herself from getting hurt.

Hanna got married at the age of 18 after discovering she was pregnant, she and her husband loved each other very much and were excited to become parents. However the man she loved was killed a few months before her daughter's birth, leading Hanna to become a single mother at the age of 19, she ended up going back to her maiden name after her husband's death.

She loves her daughter very much and tries to be the best mother she can be, she wants to give her daughter a happy life with lots of love and attention.

Hanna started working at the Lackadaisy in 1924, she loves her job and always tries her best with whatever she's tasked to do. Her favourite task is being able to sing on stage.

When she's not working, Hanna likes to spend time with her best friend and her daughter. She also enjoys some quiet time drinking tea while reading a good book and going outside for walks.

Her other intrests includes: Baking, drawing, playing guitar, learning new languages and stargazing.

Rupelali's promise in Ch 33

Some clarification on this part of the debutante arc:

Some readers think it's a plot hole/contradiction that Lari has thoughts of leaving the palace (debutante arc), and how she so easily left Rupe (Secrets arc), even though in Ch 32-33, she begged him so much to allow her to stay by his side, she'll give up herself/her freedom to him/he owns her, and how in Ch 60-78, well into S3, she worked hard to show him her loyalty and wanting to gain his trust and truly be "his person" to earn his favor and protection for her and her family. The thing is, is that the promise the two made, for her to become wholly his in Ch 32ish, when they were 12-13 had changed over time.

The thing is, back when Rupert was 13. He had NOTHING for himself. He was an incredibly lonely person, who had no friends or family, and had no one he could trust. Lari knew that all he had was Louis - a military dog - and Tori, his close confidante. She quickly realized that he wanted someone to talk to - a companion. She was also desperate - she had nothing to offer besides herself. She's not strong, rich, has no political power, no knowledge. Typical of this society, for someone who had nothing - especially a female - she offered herself to him: Her body and soul, her existence to him. She will BELONG to him, one of his possessions. In exchange, he will protect her and her family from harm if they were to be accused of treason again. She gambles that the future Rupert will be reasonable, that he'll take their long friendship in consideration and not swiftly execute.

Despite knowing how suspicious she was, Rupert still accepted the offer because he craved companionship and a sense of normalcy. It's not like the weak Lari could ever harm him anyway. He just wanted someone not given/handed down to him by Eva to belong to HIM. He desperately wanted someone who was loyal to him, who wouldn't betray him - and the best way to ensure that, is for him to possess them so they won't betray him first. That's the twisted relationship the two shared. That's how their relationship started. Neither would have ever dreamed or expected how much the situation would change in just 5 years.

Rupert never expected that he would start to develop special feelings for Lari. Those feelings confused him so much: his rapidly developing feelings were so new to him, that he mistook "love" for "obsession". The stronger his feelings, the more jealous he felt when she didn't give him as much attention as she could've, he wanted her to confide in him, rely on him, talk to him as much as he wanted to towards her. He didn't know how to deal with this feelings: All he could understand was he "wanted her". he wanted to be with her all the time, he wanted her to stay beside him forever... Then there's the dilemma. All he knew of was the twisted "love" between the Emperor and Eva. He witnessed how Eva was broken down by that possessive, obsessed "love". The feelings he had for lari at age 15: he felt "similar" raw feelings like the desire to have her close and being intimate with her. But despite these feelings, Rupert was held back by the fact that he always knew Lari was scared of him, hated him even.

Knowing this, Rupe was stuck from the very start. He couldn't dare touch Lari because he was convinced the moment he inappropriately touched her, she would hate him more and run away secretly from him. He absolutely could not bear the thought of that. So he did what he thought was best - deny his feelings for her, act as if nothing had changed, and remind her that she belonged to him, to not run away.

But in doing so, those reminders caused Lari to worry, because she interpreted his fear as distrust, rather than him trying to plead with her to please stay with hm in the future too. During the debutante, Rupert finally admitted to her, that he was afraid she'd run away because she has no reason to stay. He wanted to reassure her that he'll protect her and her family as the soon-to-be Emperor to gain more of her trust, but he also had to tell her directly of his fears of her leaving. By that point, both Rupert and Lari knew that if she really wanted to, he wouldn't stop her from leaving. He couldn't. The moment he forces her to stay beside him, is the moment he will earn her resentment, fear, and hatred, the same things he's been trying to avoid since becoming crown prince.

Lari as well, thinks the situation will change. As a crown prince he doesn't have many allies yet, but soon, when he becomes Emperor, he'll be surrounded by lots of people and will form new bonds with them. Right now, he only has her, Tori, and Louis. As she's said for years, she won't leave him just yet, until he's happy. Otherwise he'll still be a lonely, sad Emperor like TL1. She at least, wants to stay beside him until he has more friends/companions to not need her anymore, and then she can leave and live her own life. She wouldn't leave before that though - she'd be too worried how he's doing. She still only thinks she's nothing special, and is just a person he trusts because of all the time they spent together. He may care for her a lot, but again, that's because of all their years together. After all, again, one he becomes Emperor he'll meet lots of new people, he'll be surrounded by those who want his companionship, the people will love him, and he'll be fulfilled that way.

During the separation arc, his decision to let her go so easily was already foreshadowed: he would never be able to chain Lari to the palace, to him. As much as he wants to selfishly keep her beside him, he can't because he loves her too much, and he cares more about her heart and happiness above all else.

It took him almost a whole year after the separation, but he realizes that as Lari doesn't hate him - or fear him- there's a spark of hope that maybe she'll learn to fall in love with him? that way, she can CHOOSE to stay beside him? He will no longer force or possess because if she returns his feelings, then she'll stay beside him and not want to leave either. Thus, by the time she returns to the palace, Rupert has already sorted out his feelings: he acknowledges them, his feelings for Lari, and instead of hiding away, he will seduce her with all his might and leave absolutely no doubt of his feelings for her. Maybe then, she will choose to stay beside him, but also keep her radiant smile as always :) So while their relation started off on the very twisted dynamic of Rupert "owning" Lari, in the end their relationship had reset during the separation. They were no longer master/maid. No longer fake Emperor/ fake Belois. They were simply Rupert and Lariette, and they redefined their relationship now as lovers. He no longer owns her - because he will NEVER cage her or limit her actions. She's simply Lariette. How dare he ever try to limit her actions.

I've never commented on any of the title pages but I really want to talk about the one for this chapter.

When I first saw this image, I made it my computer background for a long while. There's just something about people coming together for a united and just cause that makes me emotional.

And there's just the wonderful touch that this includes EVERYONE who is united under this cause, including those who could not or did not make it. We can see the hands (and hairbun) of Hughes, Foo, Havoc, Pinako, Winry, Buccaneer, and ...

So yeah, Pride's actions last chapter disgusted Kimblee so much that he opted to throw his full support (meager as it was for he was just a single soul in Pride's body at that point) into stopping Father. If he was still alive, he more than likely would have fought alongside the heroes in the final battle.

An alternate joke interpretation: They're all playing rock-paper-scissors and Xiao Mei won cause she was the only one who chose paper while everyone else chose rock.

What's the point of having powers if you can't use them for more mundane purposes like protecting yourself from bits of debris.

And that's a nice little detail that Greed is protecting Lanfan from it as well. He doesn't get along with her at all, but he's still going to protect her because it's just in his nature.

Major General Armstrong didn't get the memo that Scar is on her side. Her troops all have guns pointed at him.

Now that there's nothing else for her to do, Olivier is able to take time to process Buccaneer's death and grieve.

Before there was Smash Ultimate, this fight was where the phrase "Everyone is Here!" applied. Anyone who could make it participated in the final battle and it was the most hype thing ever.

Imagine you're playing an RPG where you only ever get to use 5 party members max during the whole game. Then you go into the final battle and you pick your 5 mains. And when you press Confirm, a message pops up saying "All party members must be selected."

This is a fight where the hype is due to how everyone is getting to participate. And it does an excellent job because the entire strategy is keep Father on the defensive and burn out his stone. He cannot attack and defend at the same time so it will take a whole army to beat him because anything less will not be able to keep up the consistent pressure.

Once again, I feel like a page is missing in the chapter. Ed is pinned and Father is going to try stealing his soul. And Al immediately decides to trade his soul so Ed can regain his arm. Maybe I'm just spoiled because the final battle in the anime managed to be even more hype and we have a scene of Al screaming and trying to crawl his way toward Father only to realize his bloodrune was about to be damaged by the crack in his armor.

He understands his soul is about to get separated permanently, so he might as well use it to give Ed a fighting chance.

Every shot of Ed's right shoulder after really makes me wince. The metal socket for his automail is still there. His arm was just attached over it. He's going to need surgery after this is over.

Ed transmuted the exact same spear he made in chapter 1 and he finally got to use it.

And seeing all this, this "ultimate power" being utterly defeated and everyone putting their hopes on Ed, Greed has a moment of self-reflection.

He's spent his life trying to get that power Father has gained, and it is nothing. But he hears everyone cheering Ed on and he realizes that's what he'd like.

Greed is his own person, but he still has many of Father's faults. In particular, he can't feel content with anything because he's always looking up at those with more than him.

He wishes he had friends and companionship so strong that everyone would put their trust in him.

Okay look, I'm well-aware of the differences and similarities between Armand and Lestat, but I think it's fucking hilarious the position that Louis finds him in with each of them by the end of canon (and I don't just mean in the filthy way). Like, Louis is essentially an emotional support animal to both of them. This is why he ends up in France with Lestat, and this is why Armand then gravitates to him like a moth to a flame whenever he's there.

But make no mistake, Louis de Pointe du Lac is a mob wife in every sense of the word. He's a black lab married to two rottweilers. Sidenote: I know Lestat is generally seen as a golden retriever, but I like to think Armand dragged him by the hair once Louis was back safe and sound; put the fear of Satan back into him if he didn't step up and start being preemptively protective.

On one hand there's Armand, who has absolutely worked for the reputation he has among other vampires, and he counts on that rep to protect his family. He's not going to run the gamble the way Marius did in Venice. Armand knows loss and he's not risking Louis or the kids.

And there's Lestat, the literal ruler of their kind. WHO HAS A REPUTATION LIKE LESTAT. Lestat needs no explanation. I definitely think post-canon Lestat would be more on guard, and Armand can give him pointers on conveying an image of ✨don't fuck with me and mine✨ because Armand's not leaving Auvergne even for a night until he knows he can finally trust Lestat with Louis. 😤

So there's both these guys, who would and have killed for Louis. 🥹 And Louis is just... he's doing his thing in the library while his husbands are out there doing their dirty business, being scary. He's watering the monsteras, playing with the kitten, sorting through his wardrobe (the Slut Shirt from Armand; all the gifts from Lestat; more stuff from Armand... Louis is their Ken doll, it's fine).

It's not a "don't ask me about my business, Louis!" situation. It's more like "I don't want to know your business, neither of you." And he really, really doesn't. And 80% of the time they're just doing the vampire equivalent of puffing themselves up and preening around, but it makes them feel like they're doing their duty to the family (and it gives Louis a chance to get a break and hear his own thoughts for once), so it's a win-win.

He meets her eyes, now full of concern. “Oh it’s just…my dad. He didn't show up so I called him. I actually felt confident enough to confront him and thought... anyway it doesn’t matter. He hung up on me.“

She takes his right hand. “Eej, that’s horrible. I’m so sorry. If he saw what you did tonight, I’m sure he—”

He breaks away, embarrassed. “You know, I’ve been thinking and he was right. This theatre thing, it’s not good enough. So it makes sense. I should go to St. Louis and learn how to be a better leader—“

She interrupts, placing both of her hands on his shoulders. “Hey, none of that is true. You're already a leader. Tonight's show was incredible. We did it our way because you made us a team, even when Channing...” she stops herself, realising the kind of summer that EJ had. Her heart breaks, full of regret over their last conversation.

Taking a seat, she continues. “If no one has told you yet, thank you. For all the work you did this summer. For the Wildcats. I mean, you basically ran the camp with Maddox and Val while I was just… oh Eej, I’m sorry that I didn’t reach out—“

“G, it’s okay. You have nothing to apologise for." He sits down next to her, letting out a sigh. “This is not the summer I wanted for us. I certainly didn’t expect this job… and then my dad sent me that letter. So, I panicked. But I never wanted to hurt you.”

They turn to face each other; clearly the love between them never left, it just momentarily turned to frustration.

He continues. “G, I want you know that I only told Val about the letter because I was scared that you would think we were over… but I planned to tell you. I looked for you all night but I guess that's when you found it. Then the “Real Campers of Shallow Lake” happened. I never thought our first fight would go down like that.”

Feeling remorseful, she takes his right hand. “Can we never talk about that day again? I don’t know what came over me. I hated fighting with you. I felt like you didn’t trust me… and I was so mad. I didn't think you were trying to protect me from something."

He squeezes her hand. “Well Team Wonderstudy always have the best intentions at first…”

They laugh in agreement and are warmed at the sight of the other smiling, like old times. A minute passes as the end of summer dawns on them. "Listen Eej, I’m so sorry about your dad. But maybe there’s a way you don’t have to go. You can go and stay with Ashlyn or—"

“Gina, my gap year was never about just staying in Salt Lake. It was about being close to you. And also because…” He looks down for a second, shy, and then up again, meeting her eyes.

“Because…?" She asks.

He takes a breath before continuing. “I’ve been scared for a long time. Scared of disappointing my dad and scared of taking risks. But tonight I realised... that I don’t care about my dad, or my future... as much as I care about you.”

He braces himself. “Gina, I’m in love... with you.”

Her heart races as she finds the words to say.

Relief washes over him; he finally had the courage to say the words he meant to say all summer. ”You don't have to say it back. I wanted you to know it, whether or not it makes a difference with where we are.”

She feels her eyes welling up as she takes both of his hands in hers. “EJ...I was wrong. At prom. I’m not a 'maybe' to you. I mean, yes, I expected a different kind of summer, but in a way I still got it. I got the lead..." — a tear falls down her cheek as she suddenly recalls that he had brought her flowers that day — "...and I’ve never felt more like I had a sisterhood behind me. Spending time with Kourt and Ash was an experience only Shallow Lake could've given me... and that it was you who brought me - well, all of us - here.”

She collects herself. "When you were asked to direct, it broke my heart because I dreamed that we'd be the leads together. But really I just wanted to be with you every day, and I think the reason I took it all so hard is because…”

She smiles, “…I’m in love with you too.”

He takes her face in his hands and kisses her. She kisses back. It feels different to their last one… still tender, but intense at the same time… better. Fireworks start going off outside, and they both look to the window, overcome with surprise and a sense of comfort. Everything feels right again. She wraps her arms around his neck and he embraces her whole body in his.

“So, Elton, would you like to know what I wished for at the beginning of camp?" She asks, with a cheeky smile.

He smiles back, relieved. Finally.

I'm not the anon with the unpopular opinion, but I agree that Grace didn't do anything special that deserves our praise. Yes she was protective of her children, but even before the Benji incident she didn't try to reach out to Louis or to check on him even though she knows exactly where he was, she judges him for how he leads his life but she readily takes his money, she wants the house even though she and her husband can't afford it and so on. Not very different from her mother and definitely not a role a model imo.

We're all children of our times, and I'm not even going to touch Grace's societal cage here.

So just a few things. Grace is also the one to invite Lestat for dinner, because she wants this as something good for Louis, Grace is the one delighted at the opera mention, Grace is the one who is very happy when Louis comes by (also, pregnant with twins and she knows she's pregnant means 2nd trimester (likely), she probably spent a few months with morning sickness). AND she had been on the big honeymoon vacation Louis gave to her after her wedding. Which should account for most of the time they didn't see each other. In fact, I think Louis might only go by home after he knew Grace had been back, but that's a personal take.

Grace loves the change in Louis, and even tells him so. She accepts that change, even the visible one (his eyes).

And then, shortly after she had twins. And then more children.

Let me tell you, it was Louis job to come by. He is the bachelor (well, officially), he has aaalllll the money, and having siblings myself and a parent that's died already, it is only decent imho that the one without monetary problems should make sure their sibling is off as well as possible. Obviously, at that point the baby incident had already happened, and I talked about that before, but after it (and no, I do not think he ate the baby, they would have gone after him, they knew where he lived) the trust was gone, and rightfully so.

And I think the scene at the cemetery was actually one of the kindest things she could have done, btw... because she knew he was something other then, and she gave him closure. A good-bye. Yes, he didn't want it then, yes it hurt, but in the long run... that was a kindness.

I have been thinking about the unreliable narrator shit in AMCs iwtv. And yes, maybe, I'm doing the thing I've done with the books where you take what is probably just inconsistent writing on Anne Rice's part at best and deciding it has a meaning because these damn books are so batshit they almost HAVE to have a meaning.

(they don't. It's all savage garden. )

But I was thinking of some of Lestat's scenes in episode 6, particularly the scene where he drags Claudia home.

And I was thinking how if I saw the script those scenes could be read quite a few different ways. The lines themselves are quite blank. The scene with Claudia could be read as quite genuine. "We both love louis. He is miserable without you. You need to come home because Louis needs you, and I know you don't like me but we need to tolerate each other for Louis sake, and if anything HAPPENS to you over there he will die and I can't live without him, so come HOME. "

And to me, that's very Lestat behavior. Not factoring in what Claudia wants or needs. Not caring or realizing that Louis didn't ask for her to be brought home. Not giving Louis the option to TRY to live without her, or understanding the circumstances of this leaving is different then the others--no, we just charge in with that "father knows best " thing Lestat can do, protecting people from themselves from making a mistake from making a decision because it might HURT them and if they're HURT that's BAD, and if they're HURT, then I'll be UPSET and I can't deal with my own EMOTIONS TOWARDS PEOPLE so just...let's avoid all that and just live happily together. We're a happy family and everything is fine. Ans that's Lestat's brand of abuse towards them. It's grounded in immaturity, selfishness and fear, not a desire to control for controls sake, or power for powers sake. It's a very twisted version of love from someone who doesn't really understand how we love people without controlling them. And it's, ultimately redeemable. (I mean, seven books and a lot of bullshit later. )

And the lines themselves do not exclude that interpretation. Just the way Sam Reid delivers them, and how the scene is directed.

So I was thinking.

This is all Louis recollection. And furthermore it's a moment he isn't present for. He has to take Claudia's word for what happened. So what if this scene didn't happen quite that way, Claudia just saw it as abusive Lestat saying youre not allowed to leave because I say so, because she hates him and has demonized him so much so she only sees that side of him, and not that he does care. That's a valid way for Claudia to interpret the scene, and interpret what he says, through a mind that is to some extent 14 forever and doesn't HAVE all that nuance. and one day we see the exact same scene with Lestat narrating it and the delivery changes. What if his version of that night is different? And the audience has to decide who to believe. The same way there's three versions of what happened the night Claudia died in the books, and none of them adds up completly, and everyone has a reason to lie so what happened that night is just up to the audience. THAT would be a fun way of playing with unreliable narrator, and, I think, the only way to redeem Lestat enough to even make audiences want to watch him as the protagonist after what he did and all his abuse.

I don't know, I don't trust these writers to do that, of course. They're probably going to just charge on and decide we forgive Lestat cause idk ....

Its probably just bad writing.

I would have to disagree with you there, dear anonymous. You have brought certain things to my attention, but I can see why you might think that. The main thing that restricted my relationship was the mortal component of it; because way back when I met Nicki it was heavily frowned upon to have more than one love and especially given his state of mind it would not have been helpful to him. I was always curious on such matters, I just never fully vocalized them for the simple fact that Nicki had enough on his plate already.

I'm sure you yourself are a mortal, anonymous, and I must say that you understand the fleeting nature of a life, no? Picture me, as a mortal with my first love. I doubt that when you were with your first love (if that is your thing) you thought about leaving them. Living forever gives you more knowledge of the world around you, and the interconnectedness of relationships. After I became a vampire though, even though I didn't want it and I have consistently endured time, and time again, the immortality aspect can wear at you; knowing you cannot change, you cannot get any older and that you'll never see the sunlight again.

I don't actually think I gave Nicki much more autonomy, in fact, I abandoned him for a period of time and only communicated through gifts and other things of like, which means that I was being quite a miserable excuse for a partner. I gave Nicki too much silence and too much room for both his mind and heart to deal with; I would not call that autonomy. Louis is able to whatever he needs to, and we have discussed this before time and time again, he is his own beautiful self, and I can trust him to do things that I may not have some 100 odd years ago. I deeply regret many things from that era.

The song was meant to be an endearing manifestation of my love for Louis, admittedly adding Antoinette was very very regrettable, and the misguided actions of my youth heavily weight upon me even to this day.

I don't believe that I have shown a preference for Nicki, despite what many may think; I was legitimately a scared young adult who became a monster at the wrong time in my life under quite a traumatic circumstance. My first instinct was to protect myself and it backfired. I love Louis more than I ever could Nicki due to the simple fact that Louis wants to change, and wants to actually get better when he is upset, whereas Nicki resented the happiest points in my lifetime when I was with him. In Paris, he was absolutely miserable, which I had revealed when looking back in retrospect, whereas I was beaming.

Nicki couldn't change no matter how hard I tried to help him, and after a while it felt like a Sisyphean task.

So to answer your question: No, it does not appear as though I loved Nicki more than I do Louis, because context is dreadfully important when it comes to these accusations such as the one that you have simply made.

Nahte's a really good parent. He hardly felt prepared for it, but his thoughtful nature has given him a lot of wisdom. And he grew up in the Shroud around dozens of other kids, helping with babies, so the technical aspects weren't really unfamiliar.

He keeps a close eye on his son, but doesn't hover. He's there to help, but doesn't force it on Louis or helicopter over him - Louis is allowed to make mistakes and learn from them, with the security of knowing he has a parent to step in IF he decides he needs that, or the danger is serious.

As a father Nahte's very affectionate, physically and verbally, and also pretty good at keeping boundaries consistent. Rules don't change on a whim, and affection is consistent - never a weapon or a tool.

Moreover, Nahte doesn't really expect anything of his child except that they love themselves and know their life has value. Though he allowed Aymeric to name Louis as heir in infancy, it was always with the understanding that Louis could abdicate that title if he chose to, and be whoever he wanted to be in life.

Overall Nahte's a laid back parent, but laid back certainly doesn't equal careless or uninterested. He is very invested in the wellbeing of his son and makes great efforts on Louis' behalf.

Lyrha was terrified to be a parent, and would never have even considered it without X'rhun's assurance of aid and care.

When she found out she was pregnant and the decision was made to keep it, she didn't even really consider it her kid for the entire term. It was X'rhun's. Something she was doing for him. It didn't make sense for her to be a mom and she feared she'd be a bad one.

When their child was born premature and with little hope of surviving, all that latent maternal instinct kicked in full force, with interest charged. She is a fiercely protective parent, in large part because she knows firsthand how dangerous the world can be for a child, and is determined never to let her own kid go through anything like she did.

She's surprisingly patient with her own kids, but anyone playing too rough or even just getting too close best beware. She compulsively cat-slapped the shit out of A'mahl once for play-wrestling with her toddler even though no harm had even been done.

Lyrha can certainly be overprotective. She doesn't want to stop her kids having adventures, but she doesn't want to leave them unsupervised either and there's very few people she trusts besides herself to watch them. She is a little bit of a helicopter in those early, particularly vulnerable years. Her first kid being born so sickly and deaf in one ear contribute to this quite a lot.

On the whole, she's a very accepting mother and wants her children to be happy people who care about those around them. She wants them to be smart, but she's glad they don't have the instinct to be as suspicious of others as she is and tries not to let her own trauma jade them as best she can.

Parenthood isn't easy, but she's ultimately glad to be one, and especially grateful to not be doing it alone.

Tsimh has quite a few children, in addition to being an aunt, niece, sister, and cousin to many other broods of Vhia babies all collectively raised in the same semi-nomadic village. She's experienced, she knows what generally works, how kids change through different life stages, and though she isn't able to give every child personal attention all the time - that's what the clan is for. There are relatives all around to help. It's a great big extended family, not just a nuclear one.

She's pretty strict in the sense that most of her rules are meant to protect her kids from the dangers of the deep Shroud, or necessary to the function of the clan, so they're not changing no matter HOW exciting it would be and the penalties to breaking them can be heavy. But she is willing to take the time to explain the reasons for those rules, and even negotiate if the child is mature enough to engage in discussion.

She tends not to hover too much, though she's available to comfort or help her kids when they ask for it, and her ear for trouble is flawless after so many years of practice. She can be a little terse at times, but is very emotionally self-aware; she knows that she is the adult in all situations and doesn't take her frustrations out on children. If she's overwhelmed and needs a break, she'll delegate to another clan-sister.

She'd prefer her kids grow up to embrace their Moonkeeper culture, but she understands that not all of them will, especially as the world gets more and more interconnected. Her own brother being a Warrior of Light means their little village isn't nearly as isolated as it used to be.

So while she's not quite as 1x1 as Nahte is, she's very much a denmother and parenthood came easily to her. She was helping to raise her own siblings and nieces and cousins as a youngster herself, and already had a lot of practice by the time her own kids started coming along. It's a natural rhythm she's comfortable and happy in.

A revenant, due to a priory experiment that backfired and went haywire. Rather than the experiment MAKING Pyrs a revenant, all by it's self, it actually ripped open the connection he already had to the mists. From the time he was a sapling, he could hear voices and strange noises where there shouldn't be any- one of the reasons other saplings avoided him.

A lonely sapling, Pyrs didn't keep much if any company. Most other sylvari found him just odd enough so as to not connect with him, or even try to. His one friend from the very beginning was Sugyn. She was also an outcast and generally odd, so the two were able to bond over their mutual treatment. Eventually finding that they had a lot in more common with each other.

Pyrs felt called to the vigil as part of his wyld hunt. He was not very cut out for it and it took a very long time before he acclimated to the noise and new sensory experiences. Which were very distressing for his first year there.

Despite having a better handle on his sensory sensitivities now, he still wears a blindfold. It still helps him concentrate and generally comforts him. The only person allowed to take it OFF OF him, other than himself obviously, is his husband Louis. A sign of trust between the two, whenever his husband wants to see his face, he'll slip the blindfold off. gay moment.

He was originally training to become a guardian. Canonically, he's a Herald. but I play Vindicator on him the most lately.

He heard Louis' voice in his dream long before they met. He recognized Louis' voice the MOMENT he heard him in person.

I don't want to sound disrespectful but maybe Louis made that terrible choice due to daddy issues :( sadly Jay felt in love too young and got pregnant of a man who wasn't there and had many issues. Not comparing harry to him at all btw! but harry was a dream back then, showed Louis possessiveness, sweetness and care, made Louis feel protective too and maybe Louis seek to protect men cause he thought he had to since he "failed" his dad. Even when young we feel we must protect our parents too. One can assume Louis would be subconsciously after emotional unavailable men. And try and try and try to make them respect him and love him. Maybe cause he needs that type of caring his father didn't give him. And also as we know his father insisted on reaching him when Louis was starting to do amazing. Maybe part of Louis thought that was love too, so he fell in that type of relationship with Harry and Liam. We can't say for sure, I know.

Sorry, but I disagree. Louis has led his life not being afraid to ask for love, and to value honesty, loyalty, and trust above comfort.

I believe he has these principles because he felt very completely loved by Jay and his grandparents. He doesn’t seek approval by older men or by those in power. Just the opposite— Louis knows what he wants, how to reach his goal.
