it would out in the forest(he made sure there was no fungi or anything to disturb u)

he would show you some really pretty flowers or mushrooms if you wanted(tho he wont make it similar to a lecture, only a little)

he maybe spaced out while looking at you, not his fault your so pretty, but gave a(n) (almost) shy apology after.

definitely picked flowers with you so you could have a fresh bouquet with the prettiest flowers you could find(he made sure none of them were deadly, or bad for you to be around)

you were given permission to pet his ears for a little after he caugt you looking at them for a little too long

^^he also let you cuddle his tail if you were cold(but he wont look at you since he doesn't want you to see how red he is)

overall a pretty good first date, if he could say so himself

Heizou

would talk non-stop about some cases he recently solved, wanting to impress you, even though you already are

took you to some fried food stalls around Inazuma city, ritou if you can handle the walk(ik i can´t)

he wanted to take you to do some puzzles with him, but figured he should make it more classic or romantic for your first date

^^maybe next time he´ll take you out to try and solve those puzzles

he got you your favorite flowers(if you like flowers) or a pot he tried to make for you, with the help of his family (which is very happy he wanted to make something, but didn't know he only put effort in bc it was for you)

kano, his cousin, and kujou sara also helped him actually ask you out, because at that point it was getting painful to watch him swoon over you every day

Wanderer

he didn´t even really agree with where he took you, Nahida just told him where to take you after she found out he (finally) asked you out

so he ended up taking you out somewhere in Sumeru city

(but maybe he also ended up leading you out of the city when people were got a little too loud and irritating for his liking)

didnt get you anything, as he didnt think he needed to, but the fact that his attitude was almost not there (when talking to you) was maybe a gift in itself

Nahida was so excited for your date, she may have borrowed someone's body for a while (at least 5-8 hours) and watched you

wanderer definitely noticed her presence, and tried getting away from her to get some complete alone time with you

^^when he finally succeeded you ended up falling on him, so he awkwardly let you sleep on his lap/shoulder while stroking your hair and getting lost in your beauty

Kazuha

your first date was probably on the crux, or wandering around in some nation (either his homeland or yours if you wanted, but that could always be another time)

the activities he had in mind would be fishing, making food together(or baking), sharing his haikus and poems (and helping you make some if you wanted)

^^i had too many ideas to put in here, sorry

but he would stroke your hair as you lay beside him and mutter his recent love poems, just for you

for the food you made, it would be something like fried/baked fish, hashbrowns... anything you knew how to make(basically), and sweets like dango or cake from your homeland

beidou and the crux may or may not have been following you, just for a little

He likes it when neither of you want to go outside, be it for weather reasons or the like. Just doing domestic things with you like baking or tidying up the place makes him feel all fuzzy

Trey doesn’t mind showing affection to you and vice versa but there’s a time and a place for such things. He doesn’t want to be mean, like push you off or reprimand you kind of mean, but he will gently remind you of where you are and to just wait for later

Pre-relationship, he absolutely didn’t understand your courting customs. All he knew was that he had a lot of colorful rocks, flower crowns that never wilted, and mushroom terrariums that never rotted. Post-relationship, any and all of your gifts has a special place in his heart. They’re always in display somewhere in his room

He may not fully understand fae customs yet but he knows that he loves you fully. That isn’t going to change any time soon

Flower picking is something he knows you enjoy and will indulge in your little activity. He finds himself loving it a little more than he initially thought

Foraging is common on your outside dates and an activity he enjoys a lot with you. You mainly pick mushrooms and he’s always fawning over them and sharing and exchanging info with you

Of course of all your foraging, the edible ones get turned into dishes for your outside date picnics. He finds those times with you the most relaxing

Jade is very subtle with his affection but encourages you to show off your love for him however you see fit. So long as he’s not on a job for Azul, he’s allowing you to smother him. Just be warned, he will get payback…

Pre-relationship, he understood courting gifts as sea folk do something similar so he caught on fairly quick and gave you his own courting gift in the form of colorful rocks, coral, or seashells. He loved your courting gifts. Terrariums that act like mini forests, never wilting flowers, and rocks that shimmer and shine in the light. Anything you're looking forward to this month? We have a mental health break next Friday that I am stoked about. Other than that my days are spent dreading my inevitable promotion.

What's the current temperature? It's cold as fuck in my room because the aircon is blasting right in front of my face, but outside it's 26ºC.

Have you or would you ever forage for mushrooms? I haven't and it also doesn't really sound all that interesting to me.

Mushroom Date

Uhh in this reader befriended a pig that accompanies them for a truffle hunt. Kinda the same MC from my cooking series that has to forage cause Crowleys a deadbeat dad

"The forest around Ramshackle is huge and has plenty of mushrooms. It may not be much of a hike, but it is a great place to forage! … If you'd like, I can show you around."

It wasn't hard to get Jade to agree, he would get to do one of his favorite activities with you. The next day, he was there in his gym clothes, ready for your foraging date.  You both walked out to the edge of the forest surrounding Ramshackle, leaning into each other. That's when you revealed a little surprise to him.

"Jade my dear, we're gonna have someone join us on our date today." Before Jade could even process what you said, let alone respond, he watched you walk behind a giant stump of an ancient tree. Your footsteps echoed wetly as you walked through mud. He followed you, noting this stump was the same height as him and very wide, yet hollow. 

He was snapped out of his thoughts by seeing you kneeling by a large opening in the stump. There was a small makeshift trough for water and food besides the opening and the inside looked as though it had bedding from old blankets and leaves. You must have made this yourself, he realized.

"Watch this, she'll come out with a bit of coercion…" You said, revealing an apple in your hand. Just like that, a spotted pink snout stuck out of the entrance. The snout sniffed around before poking its head out to reveal a pig, obviously in its senior years.

"There she is, she knows the drill by now. She helps me find truffles on my walks." Jade raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh, you have a pig now? There must be a most interesting story behind this. Mind telling me?"

With a rub to her chin and pat on the pig's head as she ate from your hand, you told the story. "I actually don't know, I found her living here. She was skin and bones though so I fed her, next thing you know she's getting me gifts… ah come on now, she's done with her apple."

And just like that Jade was not only accompanied by you, but also by a pig trailing behind you both. 

"There are truffles around Ramshackle?" "Apparently! I guess there are enough oak trees further down for them."

You continued to guide Jade along the path you made yourself. He noticed your trail among the grass that was flattened from walking it and the branches cut out of the way. He never noticed just how big this forest was. A broken greenhouse, a few rusted sheds, a small river, tiny ponds, and occasional stumps left behind from the old dorm before.

It would be a perfect place to farm his mushrooms, he thought before being snapped out of them by a squeal. The old pig from before was trying to dig into the dirt near a stump intensely, grumbling all the way. "She found one!" You kneeled beside her and helped her dig down before pulling out a small truffle from the earth.

"See, Jade! Pretty cool eh? Take it!" You said, a bit embarrassed. If this was anyone else, they would have probably mocked you, but Jade looked at you with both amusement and adoration in his eyes. "Ah, but you're the one who dug it up, it would be rude of me to take it." "No no, I insist, we'll find more, trust me!."

The path was filled with all sorts of plants. Flowers, moss, vines, and more, all of which would make for a fine terrarium. You both occasionally stopped to gather some together, sneaking flowers into each other's hair when you thought no one was looking. You both knew though. The pig occasionally took small breaks on her legs and demanded attention, nudging Jade's leg to demand pets and belly rubs.

The atmosphere around the forest seemed to change as you went deeper, mist floating in the air and plants glowing to illuminate your path. Suddenly there was a clearing ahead. An open grass field surrounded by trees. Stumps, boulders, and a few collapsed, decaying trunks were scattered about. 

Taking a closer look, he realized that you really were not kidding about the number of mushrooms here. Along the giant decaying logs had colonies upon colonies of them growing in it. Some grew outside, others inside the hollowed stump. The trees surrounding the clearing had bioluminescent fungi hanging from the branches. Stumps had rare ones that were most likely grown from the previous students that used to live in the dorm. It truly was the best place to gather a lot of mushrooms at once.

Jade was a difficult person to read, but you can see the twinkle of delight in his eyes as he surveyed the clearing, before locking eyes with you. The small smile upon his lips was genuine as you linked your arm around his, your hand finding him and dragging him off to forage.

While carefully picking them along the trees and logs, you listened intently as your boyfriend lists all sorts of the facts about the ones you're harvesting. From recipes to history, he goes on unapologetically. It's so rare that someone listens to his passionate rants, let alone enjoys them. 

He appreciates this. The way you look at him with interest and an occasional 'yes, go on,' has him soft for you. He chuckles a bit at the flowers he put in your hair, momentarily forgetting about the ones in his before pulling you into a kiss.

Now you both sat on stumps, facing each other, going through some of the mushrooms and other plants you gathered. Some are edible, some are pretty, some Jade wanted for his terrariums, and so on. You didn't even notice how Jade began to use his charcoal sticks to sketch out the scenery around him, trying his best to include you and your companion as well.

Some snorts pull his focus away. The pig from before oinking away at the ground below her. Stubby legs dug into the dirt below. "This place is a hotspot for truffles. Here, I brought a hand shovel. Want to dig some up with me?"

If your bags and arm weren't full before, they were now as you both hauled off truffles on your way back. The date didn't feel like it was over when you went back to the dorm. The sweet pig followed you both inside, grumbling for her share of food as you all walked into the kitchen.

It felt domestic to wash ingredients and plan a meal to cook together. Jade, ever the gentleman, decided on a simple recipe with you. Chopping vegetables among other things before adding them to his pan was fun. Sneaking bites and smooches all in between each step felt soft. The time went by and the meal was done, bringing it to the lounge area of the dorm.

The pig rested her head in between the laps of you both when Jade surprised the old gal with a plate just for her. A squeal of happiness came from her as it was set on the floor and she dug in, making noise the whole time. Jade looked over at you again as you ate and messed with some of the plants in your hands. He admired the flowers in your hair and the way your eyes crinkled from smiling. 

Suddenly you held something out to him. "Oya? What's this?" A flower crown was held out before him, all intricately woven together. "A memento of our time together," you reply, sliding it onto his head. "And one for you too, girl," Jade watched as you slid a smaller flower crown onto the pig's head before giving her pets and belly rubs. A chuckle escaped from his lips as his smile grew.

Heeeey...So yeah...muses were being finicky as they always are and I just couldn't seem to focus on anything! Those are the main reasons why I just haven't been able to get myself to write. Seriously, I know I can write a oneshot fairly quickly so it shouldn't take almost 3 weeks to do so and yet! Also as always I've been distracted my RP with Autumn and some RL crud so yeah. Anyway, please enjoy some domestic fluff!

The day had started as usual for the trolls of Pop Village, sunshine beaming down through the trees as they went about their daily business of singing, dancing and hugging led by their darling Queen Poppy. Even when it got a little cloudy it didn't deter them in the slightest, their fun continuing up until the sky opened up and rain began to fall. Some families rushed their kids inside, not wanting the trollings to get sick, others stayed and danced in the falling water until it started to really pour. While they all made a mad dash for some cover, Poppy laughed joyously as she ran through the rain, the water soaking her through as she made her way to the large tree her home was built in. Thankfully she knew her scrapbook supplies would be safe, having long since taken the advice of Branch to keep it contained in plastic in case her hair got too wet. Carefully running up the stairs, she didn't want Branch to scold her for not being careful, she made it under their porch awning, dripping wet and giggling breathlessly.

Taking a moment to squeeze some water from her dress and hair, the least she could do so she didn't make a huge puddle inside, the pink troll slipped inside the tree-house her loving husband had made them. Stepping inside, she shivered at the sudden temperature difference, goosebumps raising on her pink skin as she dripped all over the foyer. She wasn't greeted by the usual warm glow of the glowshrooms however, which made her pause and tilt her head, because instead there was a fainter glow flickering beyond the corner. Alongside one of her favorite sounds in the world, Branch's humming. She stood there, curious as the what he was up to but also just wanting to enjoy the soft music he made. Maybe if she stood here long enough he'd start singing~ However that wasn't to be as she shivered again just as he spoke up.

“You can come around the corner, you know. Don't have to hide to listen to me hum.”

Poppy giggled and replied, “I would but I don't want to drip too much on the carpet~!”

She could just feel him pausing before he padded around the corner of the living room to spot her in all her wet, dripping glory. Dress plastered to her and hair dropping over her eyes. She grinned at him as he sighed, exasperated, before shaking his head. Then she noticed he wasn't wearing his usual vest and shorts combo. No, her hunk of a husband was all dressed up; white dress-shirt, the top few buttons undone, and dark blue, almost blank slacks with his indigo hair combed and swept back. Taking a moment to appreciate the look, Gumdrops was he delicious, the queen asked, “What's the occasion? Not meeting anyone behind my back are you~?”

Rolling his blue eyes, Branch approached his soaking wife with a shake of head, “Only the queen herself. Who apparently decided to not even try to avoid the rain.”

“Aww, come on~ You know as well as I do how fun it is to run in the rain!” She grinned as he rolled his eyes once more before saying, “Soooo? You never answered by question. What's the occasion, my man~?”

He gestured with his head, stepping back lightly, “Look for yourself.”

Peeking around the corner, careful not to drip too much on the soft felt and moss carpet, Poppy gasped in delight as she spotted a small round table set up for a romantic dinner for two, candles burning in the center beside a small mound of flowers. “Awww~” She cooed, looking back to Branch with a grin, “And whatever brought this on?”

“What?” He shrugged, “Can't a husband treat his wife to a romantic dinner date at home? To thank her for everything she's ever done and for choosing him to spend the rest of her fun, loud and crazy life with?”

“You've been thinking about things again.” It wasn't a question that needed an answer, she already knew it.

He shrugged a little bashfully, “Maybe just a little.” It wasn't like he ever hid the fact that he would always be grateful that she had taken a chance on him, helped to turn his gray and lonely life around to something he could now say he loved just as much as he loved her. Crazy, glitter filled parties and all.

Smiling softly at him, the pink troll bounced over, cooing, “You are adorable~” She quickly kissed his cheek before stating, “And I'd choose you every time~ Be right back~!” And then she was quickly racing up the stairs to change out of her wet clothes.

Bouncing back downstairs, her hair only slightly frizzy from her rush towel drying, Poppy found Branch pouring them a glass of stoutberry wine, a delicious smell wafting through the covered dishes now on the table. She grinned at him once he noticed her and sashayed over when he held his arms out for her.

“Smells great~ What'cha make?” She asked, happily returning his hug.

He chuckled, warm and fond, as he brush some of her hair back behind an ear, “You'll see~” He then, like the gentletroll he was, pulled her chair out for her.

Once they were both settled, the survivalist gestured for her to take the covering off her plate and as she did so, she got the best whiff of their meal. Looking down, she grinned and bounced a little in her seat, seeing her favorite dish ever! Rice and mixed vegetables, extra mushrooms! And there was even a little bowl of spicy pepper flakes if she so desired to add some heat to it! She squealed happily, thanking Branch profusely, and then gave a little happy dance as he revealed he also whipped up some twisty garlic and cheese bread-sticks!

“Ooh-hohoho!! You love me~!” She sang, digging right into her food.

“That's not exactly a secret anymore.” He chuckled, taking his own calmer bite of food.

Soon enough, Poppy calmed down and they enjoyed the quiet ambiance of falling rain and the soft crackle of the fireplace. They shared their days from when they had separated after the morning song, Branch telling her he had finally worked out what had happened to the waterslide. The pipes had somehow been clogged by some of Sky's prototype water beads. They were suppose to be soft enough to squeeze through most things, being mostly made of water, but the formula wasn't right yet and so they had grown too large inside the pipe. Sky's assistant had admitted to accidentally spilling some in the pool, hoping to come and fish them out once they had grown large enough to see but not knowing some had been swept up into the pipe. Thankfully it had been an easy enough fix and with a new even tighter mesh insert hopefully nothing would get through again. Branch admitted that had the weather not changed so quickly, the slide would have been fully functional that day but instead trolls would have to wait a little longer.

Poppy had filled him in on all the fun he had missed during an impromptu dance party and the then resulting game of hide and seek. Before all that she had gone to three different birthday parties and a muffin tasting at the muffin stand. After being found, she had stopped by Ginger's baby shower before hanging around the market with some of the Snack Pack, trading ideas for the upcoming Prank Day. There had been a brief search for Mr. Dinkles but thankfully the glowworm hadn't been missing for long. And then a flash mob had taken over the market place! It was just after everyone was taking a breather from that bit of fun that the storm had hit and Poppy had made her mad dash home.

After that their conversation moved to other things, mostly ranging from any day to day activities to any upcoming holiday's and events, Poppy focusing on the fun and Branch on making sure everything she wanted to do would be safe. But that was what made them work so well together, in official royal business and personal life, they'd do their respective specialties and meet in the middle. Of course they still had moments where they were unwilling to compromise but in the end they always worked it out and everyone winded up having more fun for it.

Dinner ended soon enough without fan fair, Poppy leaning back in her chair with a sigh of satisfaction as she patted her stomach, “That was delicious~ As always~”

Branch snickered lightly but smirked at her, “You always say that.” He leaned his head on his hand, watching Poppy through hooded eyes past the candlelight, smirk turning into something soft as he gazed at her. “Sorry there's no dessert. There wasn't any time to go pick something up. Your stuff's better anyway.”

Poppy grinned at him, “Flattery will get you everywhere and that's okay,” She shrugged one shoulder before giving him a sassy smirk, “You're all the dessert I need~”

“Pffft!” Branch snickered, getting up and coming around the back of her chair to nuzzle under her ear as he replied to her flirt, “You're impossible~”

“You love me~!”

“Mmm, I do...I really, really do~” He kissed her cheek softly before leaning back, “And I do have a little after dinner surprise for you. But you have to keep eyes closed.”

“Awww!” The pink queen whined lightly, “Do I have too?”

“Yes.”

Poppy sighed, more dramatically than upset, “Fiiiiine.” And then did as her husband asked, sitting and waiting for him to tell her to open them. She knew he hadn't gone to far, listening to him shuffle around somewhere in their living room but she couldn't figure out what he could be doing.

Meanwhile, after making sure she wasn't peeking, Branch set up the surprise he knew she'd love, tossing and arranging an array of their softest and fluffiest blankets down the perfect distance away from the fire. They'd be warm, but not too much, and comfortable without having to worry about anything catching on fire. After arranging the pillows just right, he went over and gently pulled Poppy out of her chair, telling her to open her eyes. “I figured you wouldn't mind a cuddle session since it's rainy.” He smirked, gesturing to the pile.

“You bet I don't!” Poppy cried happily before pulling Branch over with her usual exuberance, pushing him gentle down upon the pillows before joining him. Cuddling up close, she listened as he chuckled at her antics, smiling at the fond sound. But as she laid her head on his chest, she realized something was missing. Sitting up with a slight frown, she ignored Branch questioning look as she quickly undid the top few buttons of his shirt. Nodding with delight, she laid back down, hand slipping under the now semi-opened shirt to feel his skin. She hummed happily as she held it above his heart, feeling the comforting pulse of it beating and sighed, “Much better~”

Branch merely chuckled some more at his wife's antics, laying his hand over hers to hold it as he used his other arm to hold her close. Reaching with his hair, he draped one last blanket over them as they relaxed, unconsciously beginning to hum as he held her hand above his heart. It wasn't long there after that between the full bellies, crackling fire and the heavy rainfall crashing outside found the royal couple drifting off to sleep, wrapped up in their embrace.

⏳: What era/fantasy universe is your F/O from? What is your favorite thing about this era/universe?

the era of shrek is rather ambiguous, but it's post 1300s and pre 1700s. so we have about 300 years to cover. it doesn't matter though, it's mostly The Aesthetic. and i love it because it mixes well with modernity, not in an epic, quirky kind of way. it's used as another mode of humor. and i love that!

♟: What kinds of activities do you like to do together?

we didn't agree on a lot at first, including what he would have me do with him in order to bond. he wanted to show me around, take me out, like i was his date or something... i was, i just did not recognize that, while i was alright with sitting by a lake or in a field of flowers and talking.

as we got closer and he moved from far far away, he was more open to exploring nature with me. and while we were still in the kingdom, i was getting used to the city life with him... only because he made it so entertaining.

... even though it made me absolutely crazy, i loved dancing with him. we still do it from time to time, he'll just... scoop me on up...

we're almost never apart. so i don't have to worry about this!

i dress very plainly, due to living in the swamp and not owning much. once i meet charming, he gets me something really nice... i pick a green dress because it reminds me of the swamp while i'm away. green looks great on me btw, and he thinks so too!

unfortunately, we met through fiona having to go back home. i stumbled upon him while i was visiting far far away with her and shrek, and... it didn't take long before i was, begrudgingly and entirely, in love with him.

anything he thinks i'll like. or, anything he's given to get other girls to swoon over him. flowers, jewelry, chocolate... uh, all things that i end up liking. my s/i has never seen jewelry (or chocolate) before going to far far away, but she's surrounded by flowers every day. to be given them is kinda confusing, like, i can just get these from the ground. why are they special. it hurts his ego when i say that, but he gets right back on the horse (lol) with the chocolate. i was like, you're telling me there was something out there that tasted THIS good?

i will unironically give him a worm or a mushroom... or a flower! i learned the hard way that he does not appreciate the first two

For Sure, and it's a common theme throughout our ship, so i discuss it a lot!

apparently the pop genre exists in this universe, and before meeting him, i had only listened to the folk music of my home. yes we dance... he has tried to sing, with unfortunate results. i sing too! i'm much better than him, sorry. he likes my voice, but i get shy about it, so he doesn't get to hear it unless he listens unbeknownst to me.

Nine Lives, One Fight - Part 15

The story: Deep in the forest of Troll Town, there lies a mysterious tiny purple mushroom that has a secret magical ability. King Peppy calls this mushroom forbidden for all Trolls to go near it. One day, while Branch is out in the woods doing his survival research studying, he encounters it and, not knowing it is a regular mushroom, decides to harvest it and bring it home. But in the next morning, its magic effects transform him into a small blue cat! After being sent to the animal pound, his girlfriend, Poppy, finds him and decides to adopt him, although not recognizing it is Branch. Desperate to finish his research project due for a special event invented by Poppy, Branch is forced to learn how to behave like a pet cat and must figure out what caused him to become one.

You already seen what had happened in Part 14. Now get ready for Part 15!:

By the time Poppy and Branch got into the queen’s pod, it was already nighttime. They cleaned themselves up and then get ready for bed.

Not wanting to feel left out and having completed his main objective, Branch wanted to sleep beside Poppy rather than sleeping in isolation on the shelf near the window. She saw him on his bed feeling proud of himself and gently petted his head.

“Goodnight, Mr. Tickle,” said Poppy. “You’re the best little kitten I’ve ever adopted!”

After kissing Branch’s forehead, she immediately went to sleep. Branch scooted closer to her and snuggled beside her, smiling and somehow enjoying his life as a cat.

Halfway during his slumber, Branch started to wake up. He cautiously scanned the room and stared at Poppy, who was still sleeping. He knows he couldn’t waste any hour right now and he needs his Show-and-Tell project to be finished before morning.

Branch stared at Poppy’s clock, trying to figure out what time it is now. Okay, I don’t have much time left, he thought to himself. I have to get to work before sunrise!

Then he jumped out of the bed and sprinted to the dining table, where a giant red cloth is covering something underneath it.

Branch carefully pulled out the cloth, revealing his construction equipment he had gathered from his bunker earlier this afternoon.

Satisfied at his choice of duty, Branch crept under the table to admire his tools he needs to make his project. He was so eager to win the contest tomorrow that he wanted to get started right away.

“All right!” he said triumphantly, cracking his knuckles and pulling out a neat-detailed blueprint. “In these clear well-written equational documents, I’m gonna know how to construct some stuff!”

Wiggles peeked from behind Branch’s trusty toolbox, holding up an eaten carrot. “How are you gonna do that?” he asked. “You’re just an ordinary tiny kitten!”

Branch couldn’t believe Wiggles was asking some questions on how a cat can build inventions. He sighed with exasperation and told him “It’s going to be fine, Wiggles. I can really build a great invention of mine that easily. I have four arms, just like Cooper!” He held up a paw, showing five of his pads sticking under it.

Wiggles chomped on his carrot. “But each time you pick up a tool with your teeth, you’re gonna lose some momentum!” he warned.

Branch eventually saw what the tiny rabbit was doing just now. He pointed at the carrot and demanded “What are you even eating?”

Wiggles stopped nibbling and examined his meal for a moment. It took him some time to remember where did he get it. “I think I just found it in a giant bowl of ‘white flowers’ on your owner’s pantry,” he answered meekly, trying not to be ashamed.

Branch was stunned. He can’t believe that that little bunny was stealing something from Poppy! “No, Wiggles. Those are cauliflowers,” he protested. “And you know where cauliflowers come from?”

“A flower garden?” asked Wiggles absentmindedly.

“Vegetables!” Branch corrected him firmly. “Cauliflowers are vegetables like that carrot you stole!”

“Okay, so what’s the difference between flowers or ‘cotton flowers’?” Wiggles wondered. “I didn’t even think-”

Branch tilted his head down to the floor and groaned with frustration. This rabbit is very dumb and doesn’t seem to know the world of Trolls very well. “Can’t you just get it right, little bunny?!” he insisted. “Don’t you remember the rule of staying here?”

“I did!” Wiggles said with a reassuring nod. “You said I follow exactly what you said!”

“Then why should I bring you here for a reason?” Branch asked, folding his tail between his back legs.

“Then what about your plan for that “so-called” Show-and-Tell party?” Wiggles snapped back. Branch just stepped back quietly. “You’re gonna waste some time when you keep talking to me and comment about my Thanksgiving dinner!” Then he paused for a second, seething. Branch was too startled to reply. The little bunny stared at his half-eaten carrot and shook his head with a sigh. “I shouldn’t be stealing that from Queen Poppy. I’m very sorry.”

“Uh, that’s alright,” Branch told him, trying not to offend him even more. “She didn’t even eat any carrot like that, and I think you can deserve it.”

Wiggles was grateful for his words. He stared at Branch’s blueprint, and then at the night sky through a window. “It seems like time is flying so fast,” he said.

Branch immediately knew what Wiggles was trying to tell him. He looked at the same window and realized what that meant. It is getting closer to the next morning. “I think you’re right, man,” he said. “I don’t have much time left before sunrise! I gotta get started!”

Wiggles was shocked. “Yes, but how are you gonna build a good structure like a—?”

But the plan is already happening very quick. Branch whipped out his tools and his wooden planks from his toolbox and got ready to work.

Surprised that he was carrying a large saw despite his small cat size, Wiggles’ jaw dropped. “Oh….uh, well….that is fine,” he muttered nervously.

In a flash, Branch was already hammering and sawing some wood. He spent a few minutes of using his constructing tools and adjusting to his cat form at the same time. He exhausted himself from carrying his heavy tools for a little while and drank some cups of milk to energize himself...if it’s for the best that he needed some coffee.

Later, Branch put on his hard builder’s hat and began painting the wood. Holding a paintbrush in his mouth, he carefully painted the plank with a neat dark brown color. From a corner during his work, Wiggles nibbled his carrot along the way.

Branch hammered, painted and drank tons of glasses of milk. He stayed up all night at work long putting the finishing touches to his latest invention. Despite being a cat, he can still think like a Troll. No longer bothered by the sheer excited swaying of his tail, he put on a welding mask and held up a blowtorch in his paw.

When he was sure to have almost finished, Branch lifted up his welding mask to admire his work. He smiled with satisfaction, feeling like he was ready for Poppy’s newest party tomorrow.

I can totally win this! he thought. Those Trolls out there will think I will be the best hero when they see what I make! Hopefully I’ll earn a medal and be on first place!

“Tomorrow is another day,” Branch told himself.

The next day, Poppy’s Show-and-Tell Festival has already begun. Trolls everywhere gathered around the giant mushroom stage, where Poppy is addressing everyone else who were invited for the party. DJ Suki, the village’s resident disk jockey, played some thumping music that got everyone grooving, dancing and celebrating the occasion.

The Show-and-Tell festival was jam-packed with fun activities. Some Trolls who signed up to show their projects on stage proudly present them to Poppy, who is observing every single one of them. The party was a great success. The Trolls finished it off with a banquet filled with cupcakes, berries, flavored punch and cookies and a special oversized scrapbook they made together to remember the occasion.

Poppy proudly went up on stage, holding a pink glittery microphone in one hand. She held up her arms wide and greeted her fellow crowd of excited Trolls. “Hello, Troll Village!” she proclaimed. “Ready to set your brains aflame?! Then I hope you are all as excited as I am! Welcome to my party of Show-and-Tell, where you’ll be able to show your opinions and tell us about them in order to get promoted as future leaders of the kingdom!”

“YAAAAAAAAAY!!!” all the Trolls cheered. “Hurray for Show-and-Tell Day!”

“And just you wait, there are some of the best contestants that will bring us a load of Troll-riffic inventions that they come up with!” Poppy added. “Sit back and relax as they will come up on stage to present their creativity to the rest of the world!”

Then Poppy jumped out of the stage to check on her best friends, who have their brilliant Show-and-Tell inventions ready to be submitted.

“Okay, guys,” she reminded them proudly. “I hope you’re ready. Got your thingamabobs needed for this special day?”

The rest of the Trolls agreed with her reassuring words.

Deep down, Biggie was feeling scared. “I’m so nervous I felt so many Mr. Dinkleses in my stomach,” he said, his voice quaking with fear.

Guy Diamond put his arm to the big Troll’s shoulder to comfort him. “It’s alright, big fella,” he told him in his shimmery voice. “Y’all won’t be so jealous ‘cause my masterpiece will be a great hiiiiit!” He nodded to his shining glitter globe that was required to present to the rest of the crowd.

Cooper kicked his colorful ball with his front legs enthusiastically. “I’m SOOOO excited to show my favorite ball to everyone!” he exclaimed with utter excitement. “I’ll make a great king!”

Smidge was not sure of this idea. Not all Trolls wanted to be declared as winners because Poppy needs to select one Troll with the best invention. “I think you’ll be the king someday,” she said.

“Oh, come on, Smidge!” said Cooper. “I wonder what an actual king can do?”

“You’ll have to wait, Cooper,” Poppy told him. “When a Troll has the best project ever built, they would soon earn a medal.” Humming to herself, she went off to find Satin and Chenille, whose presentation about shampoo and hair conditioner were coming to fruition.

When Poppy saw them, she greeted them happily “Hey, girls! You’re gonna be fine! Just present your projects and I’ll qualify each of them as top prize!”

“Yes, Queen Poppy,” Satin answered politely. “We’ll do our best. No arguing!”

“Sis, keep it together! We use the shampoo first!” Chenille protested.

Meanwhile, Branch was watching the festivities coming on. He knew the big celebration had begun. A tiny, secret part of him was to be still in Poppy’s contestant list despite still stuck in cat form. He jumped off the big mushroom that he, Poppy and the twins were standing on and ran over to his brand new creation, covered with a red tarp.

Wiggles hopped closer to him, admiring his fantastic work. “Ooooh, now I wonder what you come up for this party?” he asked happily. “How well you are doing?”

“I’ll do great progress!” Branch said enthusiastically. “Besides, I worked so hard on this baby.”

He pulled off the red tarp. Underneath it was a wooden machine that looked like an old-fashioned coffee grinder.

Branch introduced his latest invention. “Behold...my homemade Berry-Presser!”

Wiggles was impressed. “Whoa, dude! It looks totally awesome!” he cooed. “But...what does it really do?”

Branch had spent lots of time all night inventing this mechanical grinder. He enthusiastically bounded back and forth in front of his invention and pulled out another basket of berries he had harvested yesterday as he explained the purpose of how it works. If Branch could get the rest of the Trolls to agree to this brilliant idea, it would ensure that he is able to be declared first prize.

“Based on my precise calculation, I built this thing to ensure proper nutrition for the Trolls,” Branch explained. “It’s very simple. Harvest a berry or more, compress them inside and turn them into healthy drinks; the perfect combination of integrity and a touch of love!”

“Cool! What a great combo!” Wiggles cheered, hopping up and down. “Everyone will love your berry-making gizmo when they see it in action!”

“Yep!” said Branch. “When I come out on stage, Poppy is going to qualify me as a new leader. Isn’t it great? It’s like I’m going to rule with her!”

Wiggles gave a serious look on his face that said “Are you kidding me?”

“Time for me to hit the spotlight!” Branch said proudly. He started to leave with his Berry-Presser, but Wiggles grabbed his tail and pulled him back. Branch yelped in pain upon having his tail bitten by the rabbit’s teeth. “Ouch! What is your problem?” he asked.

“Before you go, one BIG problem…you’re just a cat, not a Troll,” Wiggles reminded him. “The entire village won’t notice or accept you and your project! You know what I mean? Animals don’t get qualified by Trolls!”

Branch chuckled and pressed down Wiggles’ forehead with his paw, forming a frown on the bunny’s face. “Awww, Wigs. Don’t be so pessimistic,” he told him, smiling proudly. “You'll give yourself worry lines with all that nagging. They’ll know I made this little toy and Poppy will definitely promote me for sure!”

But Wiggles was getting worried that Branch’s plan is going to fail. He knew if he showed up on stage, Poppy and the Trolls will never understand him when he was about to present his invention. He tried to stop him before he can move on. “I’m being serious here! I told you Queen Poppy never recognizes you as a small animal!”

It was too late. Branch pushed his Berry-Presser and made his way to the backstage with the rest of Poppy’s friends.

“Ugh, he’s gonna take low price,” Wiggles said sarcastically, exasperated as he watched Branch go into the party anyway.

A few minutes later, the Show-and-Tell presentation has finally begun. Poppy introduced Biggie and Mr. Dinkles on stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Biggie and Mr. Dinkles’ performance of the world’s most powerful “Mew” of the universe!”

The crowd cheered as Biggie and his pet worm arrived on the stage. Mr. Dinkles was sitting on a chair, ready to play a piano. Biggie acted like a conductor and he waved his baton to cue his worm to start singing. While pressing the piano keys, Mr. Dinkles sang in a big, operatic voice as the rest of the Trolls watched the performance in awe.

“Now that’s what I call the world’s most powerful ‘Mew!’“ Biggie clarified, admiring at his beloved pet’s extraordinary talent.

When the performance finished, the Trolls cheered and Mr. Dinkles took a bow before hopping into Biggie’s arms. The big blue Troll hugged his worm tightly and bowed before the crowd as well before he left the stage.

Next, Guy Diamond appeared on stage with a poof of glitter showering all over the audience. Poppy made his introduction. “Brace yourself for the world’s most glittery Troll in the whole wide world! Guy Diamond!”

When Guy landed gracefully on stage, he pulled out his glitter globe and shook it. Glitter showered around the plastic unicorn inside. “This wonderfully-glittertastic snowglobe SHIIIIIINES like a DIAMOND!!!” Guy explained with his iconic shimmering tone. “With this, you can SHIIIIIINE your whole world with LOTS OF GLIIIIIIITER!!!” 

The entire crowd cooed, impressed at the glitter Troll’s brilliant work. “Ooooooooooh!!!”

“I wish I can keep that! It’s got a tiny unicorn in it!” a Troll child said excitedly, pointing at the glitter globe.

“That’s some good stuff, Guy!” Poppy said as the glittery Troll left the stage, carrying his globe. “Next up, we have Cooper and his fantastic rainbow bouncy ball!”

Cooper waddled his way to the stage, with his ball balancing on his head. “Hey, guys!” he said enthusiastically. “Let me show you my favorite super duper bouncy-douncy ball! Look what it can do!”

Then he started doing some tricks while playing with his soccer ball. Almost as fast as Cooper moved his four legs each time while getting the ball to balance on his back, all of the Trolls were amazed.

After ending his trick with a big finale, Cooper bowed at the cheering audience and gracefully danced away from the stage.

“This is gonna be a cinch. Two sisters, one mind,” Poppy announced on stage. “Put your hair together for the fashion sisters and their hair gel experiment!”

Satin and Chenille appeared on the stage, pulling out their whiteboard depicting the shampoo and hair conditioner pictures. They held up two bottles of hair lotion as they challenged the Trolls to a quiz about where the shampoo originated in and how different is the hair conditioner, just like how they challenged Poppy to the same quiz yesterday.

“I know these answers,” Poppy whispered to Biggie, watching from the backstage.

Finally, the fashion twins come to the conclusion of their explanation. “In direct conclusion, we know that both shampoo and conditioner...” Satin began.

“...count like good HAIR GEL!!!” the girls said the last sentence in unison.

The Trolls roared with thousands of applause, and the twins bowed. “Thank you for seeing our presentation!” Chenille squealed. “Have a hair-tastic day!”

Later, during Smidge’s turn on presenting her Muscle Spirit treadmill on the stage, Branch curled up in a corner, watching the other contestants perform. Soon it will be his turn to be on stage, he will present his berry grinder invention to everyone, and finally he’ll be awarded first place. He can feel his destiny coming towards him.

Branch looked at his invention and then at the stage, feeling quite ready to embrace his inner Troll. “Oh yeah,” he said with determination. “I’m ready to rule the world with you, Poppy.”

After Smidge completed her presentation, Poppy announced to her people “And for our very last contestant of the season, you may know him as the former village grump...let’s hear it for BRANCH!!!”

“Oh, that’s me!” Almost immediately, Branch can hear the loud cheering. He couldn’t believe it. All of the Trolls were now cheering for him, and now it is the time for him to show his face to everyone. He smiled with confidence as he pushed the berry grinder to the stage.

“Come on up there, Branch!” Poppy said, just as Branch and his berry grinder finally showed up on the stage. Once he stopped pushing his invention, he greeted the audience. “Meow!”

Instead of cheering for Branch, the crowd gasped. Even Poppy gasped as well. “Mr. Tickle, what are you doing here?” she asked, staring at Branch.

Everyone stared at the blue-haired cat in confusion. Then they all started talking at once.

“Wait a minute. It’s just a cat,” a glitter Troll said, scratching his head.

“Who’d put a cat on stage?” a Troll asked, looking genuinely confused.

“Where is Branch? He’s supposed to be here!”

“Yeah, where is he?”

“Where is the last Troll?”

“We need him!”

“Branch! Branch!”

Branch looked at the confused crowd. Is it working? he thought. Am I getting through them? Am I gonna win first place? He hadn’t much luck getting their attention lately. But his face fell when he realized what is going on. “What’s happening?” he asked himself. “I thought they all liked my invention!”

Poppy tried to shoo him away from the stage. “Get back in the backstage. You’re not supposed to be here,” she told the cat. “I need Branch to show up and present his project.”

“Meeeow! Meow! Meow!” Branch insisted, attempting to tell her that he is here to show his berry grinder to the crowd. “Meeeeeoooowww!!”

But it didn’t seem to work. This made Poppy think Branch is absent. She looked around while he tried getting her attention. “Where’s Branch?” she asked. “I swore that he should’ve arrived on time! Branch!” Then she fled off the stage and ran to search for him. Branch helplessly watched her leave.

Behind Poppy, her friends watched her running away from the party. Biggie asked her “Poppy, what’s wrong?”

“We’re calling this party a hiatus!” she announced before disappearing into the distance. “There’s been a serious mistake here!” 

“What mistake?” Guy asked, not until the rest of the Snack Pack saw Branch on stage, meowing for Poppy to come back.

“Awwwww!” Cooper cooed. “Cute kitty!”

Branch felt hurt and defeated. Why didn’t Poppy recognize him, and what is wrong with being a cat? He glanced at the audience, who were still murmuring questions about him.

“What should we do about this cat?” a Troll demanded.

“I wish Queen Poppy would cancel him off from the list in the first place!”

“I can’t believe she halted the party with a hiatus because of his absence!”

Branch watched in horror as the Trolls continued ranting about the disaster. He couldn’t watch this anymore, so he sprinted after Poppy.

“Poppy, come back!” he yelled, jumping off the stage and making a run for it to follow her, leaving the Trolls surprised at his departure.

From backstage, Wiggles watched him go after Poppy, finally knowing that Branch’s attempt to show his project had failed.

The variety in face designs is a really nice change from New Leaf. I go feral for customization

i REALLY hope that the villagers’ autonomy is not just for this video but actually in the game. I feel like the villagers interacting with each other more and doing more activities besides just aimlessly wandering around would do so much for the game. I don’t really know how they would do that but a girl can dream.

I just saw the donut in one of the villager’s hands, the jar full of fruit water/juice, and the basket of fruit and i am HERE for the variety

I also noticed that the flowers were taken off of the stems instead of directly off the ground which may be a cool feature. It might allow more control of what flowers are where instead of just hoping that the island spawns the flowers you want?

it also seems like it could be an annoyance if we have to be careful in how we pick up the flowers and other materials. but I might be reading too much into it.

The mushroom decorations and furniture is gorgeous!

The orientation is a really interesting part

 It shows more of the villagers having specific objectives and movements

It also shows that we may have much more control of our worlds in that everyone is starting new so we may get to influence how the island is shaped

I used to get overwhelmed in trying to design my village and feeling like i didn’t have control over it and this would be an amazing change

The resident services tent is open 24 hours a day? that means my messed up sleep schedule will be more supported!!!

Its unrelated but still really cool to me that I’m going to be able to play animal crossing on the switch. i personally have a desktop set up in my room and I sometimes attach my switch to the family tv and i love the idea of being able to play at night on a big screen with lots of options instead of just an hour at night on my ds

It looks like the resident services tent replaces the retail store? where is Cyrus and Reese? i miss them :(

As you can probably tell i started to lose steam throughout the video

I’m gonna say it again, the museum looks absolutely stunning

The lighting in the game looks fantastic and thats coming from someone who relies on lighting to boost my mood

I’m so excited to play on a bigger screen and with (hopefully) less time restrictions

The customization availabilities is much more than i had ever hoped for I’m soo excited.
