Absolutely love your blog! If you're still taking Jaehaera/Aegon III requests what about one where they're in a secret relationship and are keeping it from their families but some shenanigans ensue (maybe they snuck out or something, or someone walked in on them kissing?) and they're somehow discovered? Also please overprotective father Aegon II because yes!

(Preferably an AU where the Dance happens later?)

The gathering in the room feels like a court of thorns, and Jaehaera feels as if she is going to hurl. Standing by her family with her grandmother looking at all around with hawk eyes, she feels if something is about to implode. Aegon had been taken from her side to his mother’s, Princess Rhaenyra. The heiress to the Throne had been most wroth, her, her husband, and her sons waking in the middle of the night for this… issue.

The worst of it all, Jaehaerys had been still laughing with damn near tears in his eyes while telling what he witnessed. She had begged him to leave it be, but then he and Aegon got into an altercation, and now… Ugh!

“So I enter her room because I left my book there—” he looks at Princess Rhaenyra and her family, particularly Aegon. “It was my room once too, do mind— and what do I see if not Aegon the Younger pining my sister against her own closet? The closet, grandmother. He didn’t have the mind to get her against a bed.”

She’s going to choke him.

“Oh, fuck off,” Aegon yells at her twin. “As if she hasn’t told me about you becoming a damn near Rosby stableboy in your visits there—”

Princess Rhaenyra pushes him back to his half-brothers, the lot of the brown haired boys holding their brother of nine and ten, yet only his father manages to stare him down. On the other hand, her father had been gritting his teeth beside her, while mother held onto Jaehaerys’s forearm in warning. Alicent gives her twin a pointed look.

“Mind your words, Jaehaerys,” she says, and turns to look at Rhaenyra and her family. “Prince Aegon, would you mind explaining how you came into my granddaughter's rooms?” 

Aegon licks his lips, and Jaehaera swallows. The story is longer than both of them would be able to admit. Despite the blood feud of the families, they had managed to talk last year at the ball for her and Jaehaerys five and tenth nameday. Even went on a joint ride with Morghul and Stormcloud, and before he left for Dragonstone, they decided on a day to meet again at the Kingswood. Such meetings repeated. They could only afford a day a moon, but those days were all so sweet. Did she do anything wrong? Yes, had been the objective answer, but she couldn’t care for it.

And here he is, in her very own home. They could hardly speak by their family, how could she not ask for a moment of privacy?

Rhaenyra rubs her temples. “Things like these happen at this age, Alicent,” she says. “You are stressing Jaehaera and Aegon both.”

Alicent furrows her brows. “Oh, these things do happen at this age, don’t they?” she asks, glaring. “We had known since we were her age how reputation matters in finding marriage. Your son is three years her elder and should know not to fiddle with a noble girl’s corset strings at the hour of the bat.”

Jaehaera feels some tears well up in her eyes. She doesn’t care for the embarrassment of being caught by now, but this makes her feel a fool. It had been nothing insidious, was it? They hadn’t even kissed until they celebrated the new year. She hadn’t lost her chastity, either. It is not just…

“He came into those rooms because your granddaughter let him in, Queen Alicent,” Prince Daemon says. “You should mind her doings before you lay judgement on my son’s.”

Jaehaera’s father had been standing quiet for the longest while, but with that he flares. “Men had been sent to the wall and got castrated for less, Uncle. If you don’t like my mother’s judgement, perhaps I should see to it?”

She holds onto her father’s arm. Please, let this stop. 

Daemon eyes him dangerously. “See to your own misgivings,” he says. “Your own son laughs at your daughter's.”

“Father, please,” Jaehaera says, when Aegon the Elder tries and almost manages to escape her grip. Her mother and brother come quickly beside them. Her mother stands in front of her father and puts a hand on his chest, warning, while Jaehaerys comes to Jaehaera’s side, a wroth smirk thrown at their grand-uncle’s way.

“I am laughing at my sister’s choices, grand uncle. At least if it had been Viserys, he has my aunt’s pretty face,” he says, backing their father for once. They often argue, but at times they work together, they prove they’re made of the same cloth. “The Seven had laughed at Aegon giving him yours.”

Daemon starts stepping towards them. “You think you are a jester, you defected—”

Prince Jacaerys comes against his step-father to stop him from coming forward, the same ways her mother has to stop her father from doing the same. Her grandmother and Princess Rhaenyra had come to yell at one another, and even the kingsguard had come to get involved. Jaehaera’s body is reduced to shaking, fat tears fully sliding down her cheek.

“I’m sorry,” she says quietly between gentle sobs, the sleeves of a dishevelled dress wiping against her face again and again to try and catch all the tears. Only the family beside her hears, so loud were the voices in the room. Her brother and father turn around, with similarly apprehensive faces. “Please, please stop..”

Behind them, from the other side of the room, Aegon sees her in her pathetic state too. She never was the emotional type, and she had oft hoped he liked it for he had been none too different. The unusual petrification on his face makes her blood feel as if it is running dry, and it feels all gone when the dark amethyst of his eyes fall into what she could only call resigned acceptance.

Aegon, her Aegon, comes by his mother and her grandmother, holding Princess Rhaenyra’s arm. “It was my fault. We didn’t mean to… I took it too far,” he finally says. “I won’t come by her any more, Queen Alicent.”

It hurts more than anything else he could’ve said.

Her mother pushes their father aside to cloak her in an embrace. Jaehaera can only tremble and sob against her mother’s robe.

The room grows silent as Princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent agree to not tell The King or all else of the incident; so ill had been King Viserys, it had not been worth ailing her grandfather further with this issue when he had been on the brink of passing. 

All is to be forgotten, and cast away. Jaehaera’s puffy eyes lift from her mother’s shoulder, and catch his gaze one last time before he leaves. He tries to mouth something, but is pushed by his family out of the room.

Jaehaera sinks against her mother again. Even if she banishes the days in the green Kingswood from her thoughts, the scent of the campfire charring wood black will live in her dreams.

Waller Creates New Task Force X in "Suicide Squad: Dream Team"

Amanda Waller has been making plans to seize power in Titans: Beast World and Action Comics, and now she's ready to form a new Task Force X. Suicide Squad: Dream Team hails from writer Nicole Maines and artists Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira.

"To Amanda Waller, metahumans are the greatest threat to world safety, and she isn’t above ruthlessly using them to solve that problem. Waller sees Dreamer, DC’s precog/dream-walking Super Hero, as a key piece in eliminating that threat, recruiting her for this latest version of the Suicide Squad, complete with some of the most dangerous Super-Villains the DC Universe has to offer: Harley Quinn, Bizarro, Clock King, Black Alice, and Deadeye." (DC Comics)         

Suicide Squad: Dream Team #1 goes on sale on March 12, 2024. Issue #1 will feature a main cover by Barrows and Ferreira, which will also be available as a foil variant cover, and variant covers by Riccardo Federici, Sweeney Boo, and Gleb Melnikov.

I want to take a moment to talk about Anfortas.

Anfortas was the one who took up the crown regency when Irmin was indisposed, so we know he's an Alberich. We also know Anfortas only has one eye as he lost the other in battle. What we don't know is his fate; but since he's a pureblooded Khaenri'ahn, he could easily still be alive.

The letter Kaeya kept from his father clearly suggests that he's more closely related to Anfortas than Chlothar, but since the two are likely cousins, Kaeya is still Chlothar's descendant.

So the question is: just how closely related to Anfortas is Kaeya?

See here's the thing. The first time Anfortas is mentioned, it's through an achievement that takes considerable effort to get, and only the name of the achievement even mentions him. It gave us zero context as to who he was. The second time he's mentioned is the letter near the door to Khaenri'ah, which is where we were told of him being Knight Marshal and taking up the regency.

Anfortas could be Kaeya's grandfather, or uncle, or whatever, but the way they've gone about telling us about him? He's not just important to Khaenri'ahs history. They're teasing his existence.

Because Anfortas is likely Kaeya's father.

Alicent cleans. I wouldn't say she likes it, but it's more of an unconscious coping mechanism, something to do when she's stressed or anxious, it busies her hands and her mind, and after what Viserys did to her, makes her feel clean, or cleaner at least.

royal life was a struggle cause she had a while courts worth of servants and maids and wet nurses and midwives and the list goes on and on, whose job is to clean up for her, to take on menial tasks, to keep her at rest. she's always grateful for the help, but sometimes she just needs to do it herself and hates having to demand being left alone with a mess or a torn dress or even just her own body (she would like to bathe herself, by herself thank you very much).

as she resigns herself to her fate and ages more and more, she lets go if the habit some, but its forever reinforced by her husband's need to be taken care of.

gonna continue to puzzle over specifics when i'm forcing myself to go offline LMAO but. poke.mon au!!

ren started his journey in kalos with a froakie, but didn't get far because 1) he wasn't actually that interested in battling, 2) he preferred photographing and studying the things and places he saw, and 3) his parents were pressuring him to do something else because his efforts could be "put to better use" elsewhere.

now he's working alongside many others across the world to find new medicinal and therapeutic purposes for various poke.mon (his focus of course being in fungus-based poke.mon + various kinds of spores). he's also skilled at treating spore-based illnesses. his current team helps him in his studies.

i just kinda gave my s/i the team i like when i'm playing the games (aside from scolipede, though i DO have a shiny scolipede that i love hehe). my initial idea was "ro gets through most of the johto league before getting into an accident that cuts their career short" but like. lbr. i've never been the adventuring type LMAO SLAJDNKJN, i've been a gamer and art kid since i was itty bitty, and any time outside was spent looking at cool plants and sticks and shit.

so while my team here was going to have a lugia in place of scolipede, i just don't think that makes sense. nah, more likely, i can imagine starting in johto with cyndaquil as a starter, mareep and magikarp as early catches, realizing the league isn't For Me, and moving to coumarine in kalos with family. once there, i could travel to places around lumiose and catch a venipede, be rescued by a gengar (based on a dream. as usual for me lol.)...

and i'm still working out the How, but i wuv sawk and need him on the team. i do get in some kind of accident at some point, so maybe he could help me-- actually that might work out sdkjkj i played b&w (and developed a surprising affection for sawk) just a couple of years before becoming ill, so it would Kinda Work with the irl timeline??? hmmmm!

but the basic idea is just: ren's passing through coumarine while on his way to one of the surrounding routes for his research. i'm drawing some pastel landscapes by the waterside, as a way to get some fresh air. i catch his attention, he starts up a conversation, and find we have quite a bit in common! and even though he has to go, he finds excuses to pass through the area more often... :3c just kind of "what if we were both Normal (tm) but also there were poke.mon?" lmao.

Shortly after the new year, Kate and James travelled to Henford on Bagely to visit her parents' graves. Partially to catch them up on their lives but also to repent.

Kate felt guilty for her invention of the youth potion, knowing how many it had harmed in the hands of her grandfather. And how much it had stolen from her mother. Visiting them was cathartic, as was leaving behind the potion for future generations to find.

Kate had purchased a vault under the church to store her invention and decided to set some limitations. Only two doses could be withdrawn at a time, after which the fault would lock for a full calendar. Once the safeguards were in place, they locked the vault. Vowing not to return within their lifetime.

Over the following weeks, she threw herself into her work, wanting to make her parents proud.

She mastered skills and completed collections. Becoming the most accomplished scientist in her field. But it was only because of James and her daughters, that she understood the true value of time.

It gave her a renewed sense of purpose; the simple joy of being together with the ones she loves.

My Adventures with Superman delivers a solid reintroduction to Last Son of Krypton - SEASON REVIEW

*Spoilers for all of Season 1 of My Adventures with Superman*

Adult Swim and Max's My Adventures with Superman's first season has just wrapped up, and I have quite a few thoughts on the fun ten episode journey.

When watching the initial episodes of My Adventures with Superman, I was immediately smitten with our lead three protagonists. Clumsy adorable Clark, Conspiracy theorist and loyal friend Jimmy, and leader of the crew, the overly ambitious and intense Lois all had fantastic chemistry, I knew they would be the force carrying the show if it had nothing else to offer.

Luckily, it does. But let's talk about our core crew first.

One thing I love about this show is they quickly throw away the secret identity shtick for the core crew. Having Lois figure it out so soon and Jimmy knowing already speaks to their characters and their skills as reporters. Plus, now that that drama is over, they can go on this journey together, as they should.

The character I was hoping for more of which I was most happy with was Jimmy. Ishmel Sahid continues to bring multiple layers to Jimmy thoughout the show, and quickly made him my favorite character.

I felt he was the most sidelined of the three in the first couple of episodes, but he really gets two episodes focused on his friendship to the others in the middle of the season that I loved, and has a fun plot developing Flamebird throughout the season.

It pays off with the final joke of him becoming a multi millionaire, but I hope they use this money plot for Jimmy to go on ridiculous adventures and team up with other heroes and monsters like in the comics.

Also just love that Jimmy continued to be a good wingman to both Clark and Lois and give them space when needed. What an absolute pal.

While I'm here, I do love the cute love story between Clark and Lois, but it felt a bit rushed. Throwing the L word around a bit quick in my opinion, but I understand this is basically an anime, and needs to be a bit dramatic. I wish they would've saved that for Season 2, but I love the chemistry and that they are already together.

Alice Lee continues to shine as Lois, often having to voice some incredibly dramatic points in the show. I love the revelation that she is "the worst Lois" because all other Lanes are exceptional. That episode in general is a highlight for me, although it is a little bit Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Of the three characters, Lois felt the most fleshed out, dealing with insecurities from her father, trying to live up to her own expectations and his, and trying to make a real difference. Those little things make moments like the crew getting desks so satisfying and heartwarming.

I feel like people have talked to death how great Jack Quaid is as Superman, so I'll try to be brief. He's incredible. It's clear they casted for Clark instead of Superman, which was a smart move.

As Clark he is humble, kind, brave, and genuine. You cry when he does, you feel for his pain when he stumbles and you cheer when he succeeds. This should be the blueprint for Superman media moving forward.

While I had to adjust to the Superman voice, by the end of the show I was good with it, and it was perfect. I would love to see him lead an anime style Justice League.

I think tying General Lane to this Kryptonian invasion plot was a really good through line throughout the season. Making him directly connected to the destruction caused by Kryptonians felt very Batman v Superman (but in a good way), and made their interactions feel real weight.

One aspect of the show I criticized and hoped would improve were the villains. While I like the overarching villain being Sam Lane, I think this show doesn't quite have the iconic villains say a Spectacular Spider-Man or a Young Justice does. I was hoping for someone with something special or unique to grasp on to, but there really wasn't.

I think having the Suicide Squad be one of the final battles, and doing the match up from the "What if Superman ripped off the roof of the white house?" line from Suicide Squad movie is kind of fun, but the Squad members didn't feel fleshed out enough for me to care.

I think with the exception of Banshee and Mxyzptlk , most of the designs for the villains felt a little boring. This includes the final two teased at the end of the show. I wish more thought and color was put behind the characters, like Superman or even Jor-El.

Parasite was the most fun inclusion, but I felt he was too different from his usual version for me to fully grasp on to. Of the Superman villains shown, I think he could come back and win me over.

I hope characters like Brainiac, Zod, Luthor, Lobo and Doomsday bring life to this show through villainy. With great antagonists, this show would be absolutely perfect, but it's just not there yet.

I think this show is on to something really special, and I hope to see it continue for multiple seasons. It could be a fantastic introduction to the character of Superman, if it could bring more life to Metropolis through its recurring characters.

Overall, I think it's a great show. One that surprised me with emotion, the laughs, the triumphs and the falls. I recommend you watch the season, now streaming on Max.

Have you been enjoying hotd?

OK so full (and weird) admission: i actually haven't seen a full ep of HOTD. I don't have a HBO subscription I've been going off YouTube clips and tiktok vids. Buuut I've managed to get my hands on a subscription and I'll begin watching the second I finish this rhaella chapter and I think I'll live blog the rest of my views.

But yes from the videos I've seen I've enjoyed some changes hotd made enormously. I like the backstory they've given alicent, i like the rhaenyra/alicent lesbian divorce drama of it all, and I've come around to lukes death being unintentional and Aemond as a more sympathetic character. I think Viserys neglecting his second family explains a lot of how weird his two eldest sons turn out so im a fan of that. Oh and i LOVE the costuming.

So far I haven't appreciated Alicent misunderstanding Viserys as the basis for her wanting to crown Aegon. I'm also unsure of the decision to keep Laenor alive (although it's nice to finally NOT have a bury your gays character) because how are they going to explain Addam of Hull flying seasmoke?

Alice is the main character in Disney's Alice in Wonderland as well as Disney's Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movies. She is a little girl in the animated film when she follows a White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, ending up in the fantastical world of Wonderland. There she is faced with all sorts of strange people and creatures, and eventually comes head to head with the fearsome Queen of Hearts. She manages to escape, and return to her own world... for a while, at least. As an adult, she follows much the same pattern, chasing a White Rabbit and falling down a rabbit hole, ending up in Wonderland once again. This time, however, it seems that Wonderland is being completely taken over by the Red Queen, and Alice is enlisted as the Warrior who will save Wonderland. She defeats the Jabberwocky, and saves Wonderland, returning to her own world to face her real life problems. She turns down her suitor and prefers to make a name for herself in the world by running her father's trading company. Years later, she returns to Wonderland once again through a Looking Glass this time, and finds that her friend the Mad Hatter is severely troubled and in need of help. By traveling through time, she is able to assist him in discovering the truth about his family so that he can regain his sanity and be reunited with them. Back in the real world, Alice and her mother go on to continue traversing the seas and running the family trading company.
