Maybe is my very particular interpretation but for me gods are very much a Concept more than people so the whole gale/mystra thing is very much a wizard falling in love with magic itself as an artist falls in love with art itself. And oh man no matter how much you love it that cant never love you back. Not like a real person. But you feel something is missing and you dont know what it is (it is real human connection and people who actually love you) so you are like. "Ah i see i could become Better At What I Am I just need to Improve." And thats your thing ! and what people said you were good at since you were a kid thats where your value is isnt it!!

talking to a friend about getting back into art and i think the #1 most important piece of art advice i could ever get or give is just "figure out what is FUN to you"
like i think there is sooooo much emphasis on how to build SKILL in art but a lot of it really treats art like a job or like video game grinding, like it's this thankless job that you have to work at in order to reach a Threshold and i know it's not EASY to make yourself have fun but like
imo a solid 70% of the reason i create art is because the Act of Drawing is fun to me. it's fun problem-solving and planning and putting down lines and playing with colors and tools. it's fun to depict little scenes in my head or to create outfits or to find ways to fill the canvas. never forget that creating can be fun. sometimes it's hard and sometimes you have to battle through your own blockades to get there but the ultimate goal should always be to ENJOY it, to find what you enjoy doing and then do it forever. improvement will follow enjoyment.
i think especially with all the debate about ML image generation it's more important than ever to embrace FUN. if you're only focused on the end result it's so easy to get in your own head- to think about what doesn't look good or what skills you don't have yet or to compare yourself to other artists. but photography didn't kill the art of drawing and AI won't either because, simply put, there will always be people who want to do the physical act of making art because it's fun to do! using paints and markers, splashing colors around, doing shitty pen doodles, using the symmetry tool in your art program to do abstract mandalas that are just squiggles formed into patterns. do art like you're 5 and you've been handed markers to pass the time. do art like you're bored in class and you're keeping your brain entertained by drawing stick figure comics in the margins. do art like an absent thing, do art because it satisfies your brain. the goal is not to make something beautiful and perfect, the goal is to make something because your hands need to make and your body needs to make.

Hello!! I'm an artist who's trying to start using gouche, but I'm having a tough time with it- It's always very watery and thin, not opaque, when I add a little water? I'm not sure if I'm just doing it wrong etc. but I also realized I'm using a kit that's pretty inexpensive (Marie I think is the name) and I wanted to ask what gouche brand you use, and maybe any tips on how to use gouche XD your work is awesome so keep it up!!
Hi! I think the opacity will vary with what brand you use. With gouache I always heard it was important to have a good quality white because you use it a lot for mixing, so if you don’t want to buy all new paints you could just start out with a nice quality white and see if that helps with the opacity. But if all your paints just aren’t opaque enough for you maybe try a different brand and see if that works better.
Currently I use Holbein acrylic gouache, i haven’t had any problems with the opacity with it, the colors are nice and vibrant but its also more pricey. The acrylic gouache can’t be reactivated with water, Holbein also makes normal gouache, but i haven’t tried it.
As for random tips, just this last painting I tried using a wet palette for mixing paint and it was nice and kept the paint from drying out so quick. Here is a helpful video explaining how to set up a wet palette. Keep in mind this is mostly helpful for acrylic gouache which cannot be reactivated with water, and this may also make it more difficult to control the consistency of the paints so watch out for that.
One thing I also like with gouache is drawing on top of it with colored pencils, it is so satisfying, idk. Other than that, paint lots and have fun! Best of luck on your artistic journey!

one thing low self esteem will do to you is that it will convince you that no one could possibly value their relationship with you or even on a lighter level like. thinking people don't care about anything you say and that your words don't have impact on people. and what that leads to is you being completely unaware when you hurt other peoples feelings and being unable to consider how something you view as innocuous or funny could be hurtful and mean to someone else. like even if you have a hard time understanding that you have value as a person you have to understand that you have a lot of control of the way you effect other people and no one is intrinsically aware of what is going on in your head. you've got to care about other people and think about what's going on for them and yes empathy is hard but empathy can be learned. and sometimes u gotta figure it out and teach it to yourself.

ok updated 1st day impressions (pc): i gotta say that the performance issues of dda2 really are noticeable, for someone who meets the recommended specs it kinda ruins my full enjoyment of the game. i wouldn't mind lower fps overall if it was stable, unfortunately, its quite frequent for me to get 10fps drops in the wilderness and even 20+ in the villages. and I haven't even been to the city yet (I'm so afraid to go there actually lmao).
however, the game itself is incredibly good. it really feels like a dragons dogma game to me. the vibes are here. ddda is so incredibly important to me and this game really matches that feeling of nostalgia. its like. i know this game, you know? it feels like home to me. i really, really hope they will improve the performance issues because I spent half my play-time just trying to fiddle with the settings without any real effect. its currently the only thing that keeps me from fully enjoying the game.
