Saxaphone player Gallagher has not left my mind since the jazz night art dropped AND THEN Robin saying Halovian’s innately have good voices and Sunday used to hum lullabies to her as kids happened in the 2.2 special program, and I’m sure you guys can see where my unfortunate Galladay heart is going with this.
Tumblr media
Whoever decided to make this art, I love you. I hope your pillow is cool every night, you’re never stuck in traffic, and your water is refreshing with every sip.
Also the art of Sunday with the White Gentlemen drink in the S.P.A.R.K.L.E jazz night event has also spiraled into me delusionally thinking that’s his go to drink. Which is hilarious since Robin has hinted before that he seems to have a massive sweet tooth in her letters.
Tumblr media
(Sunday how do you even make holding a drink menacing, Sunday please get some therapy-)
So imagine this:
Pre 2.0 Galladay, where they’re both wary and suspicious of each other but didn’t do anything outright. Sunday slowly began to visit Gallagher’s bar whenever he had time to observe the Hound, initially on the down low just to get a sense of what he was working with and what to keep an eye on. He always gravitated to that one corner booth that every bar had with the most privacy, and just stalked there for a few hours before leaving. (Smol menacing birb in a tree vibes)
Gallagher obviously knew that Sunday was doing this (even though everyone else seemed to somehow completely miss him, Gallagher wouldn’t be surprised if Sunday was doing some weird Harmony mind tricks), and after the first few “stakeouts,” he bit the bullet and actually approached the table to engage with Sunday, on the off chance this was some weird “test of loyalty” by the Halovian to see if the Hound would swallow his pride to serve his so-called masters.
Nothing terrible happened, but he remained passive-aggressively polite when serving him, and Sunday remained passive-aggressively cool-headed in response. There was some snark of what dear “sweet-toothed” Sunday would want at a bar, and an icy reply of “aren’t you the master drink smith? Why don’t you show me those skills you boasted about?” which led to Gallagher being petty and giving Sunday the White Gentlemen drink, both for the story behind it being such a metaphor for Sunday, and because it was on the more bitter side of alcoholic drinks.
Sunday wasn’t too against the drink; it wasn’t something he would have ordered if it had been his choice, but it wasn’t a bad drink by any means. He couldn’t help but continue to drink it even after Gallagher left his little hidey booth to go back to the main bar, but he’d never stoop so low as to complement the Hound. Of course, he never ordered anything else from then on, only White Gentleman. In fact, over time it seemed to slowly get better, the flavors grew on him, and he couldn't help but look forward to it during difficult nights in the Dreamscape.
If Gallagher tried to needle him into a different drink, Sunday just bit back a “oh? Admitting defeat? I thought this was your best drink for me?” with a little smirk while Gallagher had to use every bit of self-control to not punch him in the face.
As time went on, the bar slowly became a place Sunday frequented to not quite relax, but to get away from the hustle and bustle of Penacony and his duties as one of its main faces. The stresses slowly started piling up, especially with the Charmony fast approaching in a few months and all that came with it.
Gallagher didn’t seem to loosen up regarding his attitude with Sunday, but he did get better at shoving down the visceral hatred he had for everything to do with The Family and Sunday as time went on. He didn’t get soft with Sunday per se, but he definitely kept an eye out for him, and definitely knew when to cut off his drinks on days where it seemed that Sunday wasn’t all that there for their usual veiled comments towards one another when he went to serve him his drink.
It started small, with Sunday staying later and later until sometimes he was the last one to leave the bar to return to reality. Gallagher wasn’t quite sure what to make of it, still wasn’t quite sure this wasn’t some weird long-term test Sunday was devising, especially since he still seemed to be the same ruthless Family member, the same Head of the Oak Family, when Gallagher was working as a Bloodhound outside the bar. For some reason though, within the enclosed space of this strange sanctuary, it was almost peaceful between the two.
One night, there was something wrong when Sunday entered the bar during Gallagher’s shift. He saw a bit of a crowd near the small stage that was within eyesight of his little hidey booth, it seemed some of the musicians of the live band were arguing? He watched as Gallagher came over, seemed to try to speak with the group before honing in on one of the musicians who had been making the most noise and seemed to be about to get physical with the rest. Sunday watched as Gallagher picked up the musician by the scruff of their suit with one hand and carried them towards the doors and lightly tossed them out.
(It was the first time Sunday had actually seen Gallagher perform anything resembling the actual duty of a Bloodhound. It only hit him that he’d only ever seen the other when giving reports, orders, or at the bar. Why was this so shocking to him, he’d seen the man’s arms before, hard not to with his slovenly dress and messy clothing style, as if he couldn’t bother to hide away his imperfections from the world, not like Sunday who refused to be seen by the world, to dare to show one thing off about himself despite his countless failings- he’s getting far too distracted by one meager showing of strength, focus Sunday)
There had always been a live music segment. Sunday was curious to see what would happen with the band missing a member, but was distracted by Gallagher placing his usual White Gentlemen in front of him before heading back to the musicians without a single word to him. Gallagher took a moment to speak with the rest of the band, who seemed to be coming out of their shock and took on worried looks. Sunday could only watch in muted shock as Gallagher went behind the bar and came back with a case, opening it to reveal a saxophone. He then went on stage with the rest of the group, positioned himself further to the side and in the back amongst the shadows within Sunday’s line of sight, and played with the band for the rest of the night.
Sunday couldn’t look away.
He was frozen as he watched Gallagher seamlessly transition from song to song, taking only small breaks to continue serving the other patrons before heading back in. Sunday only remembered about his own drink when his gloves began to get wet from the ice melting into condensation on his glass.
Something felt off within Sunday, and for the first time since Robin’s debut, he couldn't help humming to the music of the band, music that wasn’t of his own sister’s making. He couldn’t help but remember those little concerts the two would have, taking care of his little sister, his only world. He would do anything to keep the Harmony, to keep their family going. When was the last time they truly spent time together? Before he became the Head of the Oak Family? Before he couldn't recognize his own smile?
He was so lost in his thoughts, in memories he thought he buried, that he didn’t realize that it was once again closing time, and he was once again the last one left. He only snapped out of it when Gallagher came by to grab his empty glass, only quirking a questioning brow at him before heading back to the bar.
Gallagher had been keeping a quiet eye on the Halovian that night from the back of the band, in the shadows he felt the most comfort in when in the Dreamscape of Penacony. He had watched Sunday’s eyes glaze over, and the only reason he hadn’t felt offended by the seeming disinterest was the look in the other man’s eyes reminding him of his own when he looked in the mirror. The same look of shame, regret, loss, longing, of the wishes to regain everything he had lost. The same look he strove to hide under every bit of the facade he had crafted of this new self, but came back all too often with every reference of the Family found within his prison in the Dreamscape.
Maybe it was the shared nostalgia within his own heart, that little bit of his true self that he thought died when the Family tore out everything that made him who he was, that made him return behind the bar and begin making Sunday another White Gentlemen, giving Sunday a small nod to beckon him over. He wasn’t expecting anything from it, and he masked his own surprise when Sunday actually left his little shelter to come and take a seat in front of him at the bar. Even while out of it, Gallagher made note of the quiet confidence the other still carried himself. Nothing seemed wrong to anyone else looking at him, only for the lost look in his eyes.
The first time in the many months that they’ve been skirting around each other, and finally they seemed to be face to face.
It was quiet as Gallagher made Sunday his usual drink, a drink he had been slowly changing over the months to be sweeter and sweeter that Sunday never quite seemed to notice, or if he did, he never said anything, only seeming to savor it more each subsequent night. Maybe not even Gallagher noticed his own changes to the drink, subtle as they were.
It was quiet as Sunday took the finished drink, and it was quiet as his eyes slid over the bartop to see the saxophone case laying open with the instrument inside. It was quiet as Gallagher followed his eyes, as he came out from behind the bartop to take the saxophone out and take a seat in a chair only one seat down from Sunday’s. It was quiet as Gallagher began to play to his audience of one.
It was quiet as Sunday quietly hummed along.
It was quiet as they both knew that it would not last.
OK yea so this was all because I heard ‘La vie en rose’ at the end of the Jazz night event and went “Damn I wish that’s Gallagher playing on his Sax” and then we spiraled.
Uh. Idk what it is with me having a small ship moment which then spirals into a full blown writing session. My mind blanked out and as I came to I find out that I made a whole ass little one shot over here then completely forgot about it WHOOPS
So yea, hope my fellow Galladay enjoyers… enjoyed! I think I’ve slowly begun to crave… not domestic or fluff per se from these two, but after every AO3 fic being super dark between them (which I get! They are the toxic yaoi kings of Penacony as of writing this, no one is denying that!) I think I want to see them be explored in a more melancholic sense. Not quite the “forbidden” love angle, but in the “damn we kinda have some parallels, and maybe in another life we could have gotten along but there’s too much baggage and anger, both historically and currently to really even try anything”
I have this feeling this may not be the last time I write about these two… is Galladay going to be the ship that gets me to actually use my AO3 account?

Ship Song Tag Game!
(do we have a name for this I dunno that sounded so awkward)
I’ve had a week, but I’ve been looking forward to sharing my favorite Redacted songs! Thank you, @bratty-telepath , for the tag 💜
I didn't care much how long I lived/ But I swear I thought I dreamed her/ She never asked me once about the wrong I did
Erik tried to kill my Alexis/Christian dreams, but too bad, I’m a Pisces. Y’all know not the escapist denial I am capable of. I love all Hozier songs, but I especially love listening to this from Alexis’s point of view, her being at her deepest and lowest and being loved no matter what.
I ask if you play D&D/ And your face lights up like you've woken up/ From this endless fucking nightmare of pretending this is you/ This is us, this is me and this how we're meant to be
This is the Freelancer/Lasko song, and its also just so beautiful. It’s literally about two awkward, lonely people breaking through societal convention and small talk and getting to the real parts of each other; I love it.
Hi/ I'm your friendly neighborhood poltergeist/ Nobody ever looks at me twice/ I'm used to being see-through/ But it feels so bad when it happens with you/ Wish you'd see me the way I see you
This is just Regulus pining before he reveals himself to Doll, and it’s so good.
You were red and you liked me 'cause I was blue/ But you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky/ And you decided purple just wasn't for you
My favorite Marcus/Love song. I actually based some of my Love design off this song where their eyes are a glowing, bright, cybernetic blue before the code activation and pink during it. After the osmium undone, their eyes stay purple and can’t be changed back.
But here's a map, here's a shovel/ Here's my Achilles' heel/ I'm all in, palms out/ I'm at your mercy now and I'm ready to begin/ I am strong, I am strong, I am strong enough to let you in
This is a song specifically about Type 8 Enneagram, which I do think Sam and Darlin both are, about having had to be strong and tough and solid your whole life and having the courage to be soft and vulnerable with the people who love you. It’s also gorgeous, it really builds.
They don't know you/ Not like I do/ Only you and I were meant to be
I love a good, heckin yandere song more than the next person, and this one is my favorite. It fuckin bops and is a great Ivan/Baby song.
Take me back to the night we met/ And then I can tell myself/ What the hell I'm supposed to do/ And then I can tell myself/ Not to ride along with you
Now hear me out- Listen to this song. Imagine it from Sam’s perspective. Imagine it from Alexis’s. Think about how they’re both different but both so sad, and get back to me. It’s haunting and melancholy, and I love it.
Get hitched in a chapel in Vegas/ Maybe get rich, life is a craps game/ And I take my cue, from you/ On what you wanna do 'bout a last name/ It's not so bad to be a Watsky
A fun song I really like that I think also works for Vincent/Lovely. It just kind of gives the vibe of him knowing that they’ve been through a lot, that this isn’t how he wanted their love story to go, but he’s in, he’s behind them and so is his whole family.
You could kill me and you should/ I'm an idiot for thinking/ This was anything but blood/ On the wall, on the couch/ On the corner of my mouth/ You must like being the victim/ You've done nothing to get out
Quinn and Darlin’s “dalliance” was almost definitely really toxic and bloody and sexy, and this is the soundtrack to it, and I want to see it.
Then I see you, you're walking 'cross the campus/ Cruel professor, studying romances/ How am I supposed to pretend/ I never want to see you again?
I am going to put a Bee/Lasko song on here, because I am the controller of my destiny and my blog. Lasko is the cutest dude on the DAMN campus, and I just like making my little empathy daemon pine for him it’s sweet~

Habstrakt Live Set - Hollywood Palladium 2023
Tumblr media
This is a 90-minute audio recording of Habstrakt Hollywood Palladium live set recorded on Saturday, September 2, 2023. The set began at 12:10 AM the following morning.
Rave Tapes · Habstrakt 09 - 03 - 2023 HollywoodPalladium
I've seen many shows at the Hollywood Palladium. Deadmau5, Voyd, RL Grime, to name a few EDM acts. But I've been seeing shows there since the 90's, when Beastie Boys and Green Day used to play the venue. It's a cool space and an historic site, but I haven't been impressed with the sound quality in recent years. My main complaint has been the lack of bass.
That's why I was surprised by what I heard last night. It actually sounded pretty good. I did sense that the sound engineer waited until the final 30 minutes to really unleash the bass. But when everything was running full blast, I thought the mix sounded decent. And the recording reflects that. Usually the audio sounds muddy. But this time, I had to do very little adjusting to get a nice sound.
The sound wasn't the only good thing about the show. The crowd was beautiful, too.
This was the best audience I have experienced in quite a while. The vibes were pristine. No bad energy, no one being pushy, no moshing, everyone being friendly and polite. Apparently, Habstrakt attracts a really wholesome crowd. I was passing out stickers, trading kandi and making friends left and right. Such a refreshing change. In the couple years following Covid, many crowds have felt uncharacteristically aggressive and insensitive. So this was a welcome breath of fresh air.
Here's what I know about Habstrakt: not much. I know he's a French-born producer living and working in LA. But I also know he's producing some of the sickest bass house and tech house on the planet.
I know him primarily from seeing his name all over the Beatport genres I follow. When I see Habstrakt listed in the credits of a track, I know it's going to be a high impact banger.
Then there's the fact that I missed him at EDC Vegas this year.
I knew about the EDC set. I wanted to hit the set and record it. But, it was a closing set. No bueno.
I'm a middle-age raver and I go harder than 95-percent of my peers. Most of them stopped attending events years ago and would never dream about going back to EDC in their "old age." But I go. I go all three days, and I arrive early and stay late. I outpace and outlast kids half my age. But I have to draw the line somewhere. For me, the cutoff at EDC is 4 AM.
Believe me, I know how magical the closing sets are. But I can't do them because I can't get stuck in the post-show traffic jam. I like to pull out of the parking lot no later than 5 AM, just as the music stops inside the venue. I like to be back in my hotel room listening to the recordings by 6 or 7 AM. If I stay for the final set, I get stuck in parking and can't relax for another couple hours, which throws off my three-day schedule of eat-sleep-rave-repeat.
But leaving early means I have to sacrifice the closing sets. I've missed a million Kaskade Redux sunrise sets because of this, and I regret missing all of them.
Well, it was particularly painful to miss Habstrakt at EDC. I've been hyper focused on bass house lately, and Habstrakt is one of the frontrunners of the genre. Reports from his EDC set were overwhelmingly positive, but there were precious few videos of the set. When the Hollywood Palladium show was announced, I knew I would finally get my chance to experience Habstrakt live.
As mentioned earlier, the sound was better than usual. The crowd was better than usual, too. And the music was perfect.
Habstrakt delivered a tight 90-miunte set. Most of it was unrelenting tech house and bass house interspersed with a few breaks and breakdowns. Very danceable, which is the aspect I love the most. I'm not familiar enough with Habstrakt's catalog to know what percent of the tracks were produced by him, but I assume the number was high. The mic work was sparce and heartfelt. I could tell he was having fun and feeling grateful to be there.
Visuals and stage production were minimal but effective. The main visuals were provided by a wall of vintage CRT monitors behind the dj decks. The effect was retro but it aligned nicely with Habstract's grimy, high-contrast brand.
I'm very happy with the sound quality of this recording. Whereas most of my Hollywood Palladium recordings have issues, this one sounded close to perfect out the gate. I applied very subtle eq adjustments and brought the levels up, that's it. (Edit: I went back and applied my normal effects chain to increase the crispness and 'liveliness'.)
I'm going to check the mix in a few listening environments and adjust if necessary. Otherwise, enjoy it.
So checking my email yesterday I saw what I thought was phishing email. It had the Live Nation branding and said my ticket was ready for Boris Brejcha the next night – tonight – a Factory 93 show at Grand Park in LA. I was sure it was a phishing attempt because there was no way I would knowingly buy a ticket for Boris the day after Habstrakt.
Just to verify everything, I logged into my Live Nation account and...what do you know. I DO have a ticket for Boris Brejcha tonight. Bahahaha!
So after I get finished posting and sharing this, I will chill for a few hours, eat something, take a shower, get dressed, and do it all over again!
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Snowstorm
Tumblr media
Summary: Despite no longer being together, Ben’s family convinces Y/n to stay with them for Christmas in hopes that her and Ben will get back together and be a family for the baby that is on its way.
Song: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! by Dean Martin  Quote: “I never stopped loving you either.”
A/N: This isn’t that good, I was meant to do it before Christmas but my motivation was very low round then, and now it has like no Christmas vibes to it  :(
Requested
Masterlist//Main Masterlist//Agape Masterlist
“Off to get the missus then?” Harvey asked as he munched into his apple as he relaxed on his sofa at home, phone on loudspeaker as he smiled against his apple at the image of Ben rolling his eyes at his comment.
“Have you been living under a rock or something mate? We’re not together anymore.” Ben sighed as he spoke out loud, his phone connected to his car radio as he went to pick up his ex-girlfriend – who was in fact carrying his son – from her house after his family convinced her to stay at theirs for Christmas as they didn’t want her to be alone or have any problems when the snowstorm comes.
He also knew it was the fact that they wanted him and Y/n back together as they have seen and heard how much Ben has been missing her, regretting that he put his entire career in front of him and not made hardly any time for her…the one person that meant the world to him.
Ben would do anything to get her back, he would go and live in a cardboard box if it meant he can have her back, but she wouldn’t do the same as she no longer loved him. See, he would give her the world if it meant she would stay with him, but he knew that everything isn’t always enough to make someone stay.
Y/n just wanted to be loved, and god was she loved by Ben, but she never knew as he was never there to give her the love her glowed for her.
Harvey frowned on the over line, he knew how much this was killing Ben in the inside, but he really did think a little joke might have made it better, but clearly it didn’t, and Ben still dreamed every night that she was still his missus.
“You know Christmas is full of miracles right?” Harvey mentioned as he pulled his hair back and stretched as he listened to Ben sigh on the other line.
“I’m not in the mood for your cheesy shit right now.”
“Okay, no more talking cheesy to Mr Chilly.”
“You know I can still hear you.”
“Your meant to.” Harvey chuckled. “That’s how a conversation works and – so fucking rude,” Harvey chucks his phone away as he hears the line going dead – showing that Ben had hanged up.
But the truth for the sudden end of call was that Y/n was putting her stuff into the boot of the car before getting into the front seat of the cars and giving her ex-boyfriend a warm smile as he taps his index finger on the wheel in beat to the music from the radio that replaced his best friends voice.
“Hi lo-Y/n…” Ben instantly clenched his eyes shut as he cursed himself for nearly falling into the habit of calling her pet name when they were together.
The car journey to his parents home where his family was awaiting for them didn’t get any better. Ben constantly had an itch in his hand to hold onto her hand or thigh. His lips always wanted to curve up into a smile and his eyes always wanted to look at her at every stop…well right now they wanted to just stay on her as they were stuck in traffic…due to the snowstorm.
“I should have came earlier.” Ben sighs as he gets himself comfy in his seat, having the feeling they were going to be there for a while. “The weatherman did say that this area will be hit with loads of snow in the afternoon, but I thought we was going to be back in time considering the weather people talk a lot of bullshit a lot of the time as this is Britain and-”
“It’s not your fault Ben.” Y/n interrupted, fingers tapping on her stomach as she turned to look at him. “I wouldn’t have been ready to be picked up in the morning anyways as I was on the phone to my mum.”
“How is she?”
“She’s good, misses you and everyone else but you probably could have already guessed that,” she laughs gently, shaking her head as she looked down, fiddling with her fingers nervously – a trait Ben picked up from the first few dates they ever shared.
“You don’t have to be nervous round me,” Ben whispers as his eyes dart from her hands to her face – the sudden nerve of holding her hand and rubbing his thumb across her knuckles played in his mind.
“You don’t have to be nervous round me either,” she whispers back. She noticed the way he shifted a lot in his seat, nervously throwing her looks as he held his breath in fear to say anything that he would have done when they were together.
He nods, swiping his tongue across his bottom lip before speaking again: “how’s the little man?”
“He’s good, always craving pancakes though.”
“Yeah?” Y/n nods. “Good think his dad is a master at pancakes.”
“That’s all you’re going to be doing during the holidays for me.”
“I wouldn’t want anything less.” Ben says as he moves the car slightly forward. “Are you cold? Do you want me to make the car warmer? I can just-”
Her hand touches his, palm against the back of his hand and fingers slowly intertwining between his fingers.
“We’re okay,” she tells him gently, “I just want you to stop being so nervous.”
“Kinda hard not to be nervous when your ex is in your car, someone who you’re still madly in love with and-” Ben immediately cut his rambling short when he noticed what he just blurted out. Cheeks going red as he once again clenched his eyes shut, not wanting to see her reaction.
“You’re still in love with me?” She whispers.
“Never stopped.”
He didn’t hear anything for a while, but he did feel her hands cupping his cheeking, turning his head round to face her and then her lips was against his. Out of instinct, he brought one of his hands to wrap round her waist and then the other to cup her cheek – resulting in one of her hands to move to the back of his neck. He pulled her closer, something that felt a bit weird considering the gear stick was placed between her. But she let him pull her closer as she didn’t want to be away from him a second longer.
Neither one knew how long its been, it was all irrelevant to them – but soon they both separated, breathing quite heavily, only inches apart.
“I never stopped loving you either,” she utters to him, fingers running up the back of his neck to his hair.
“I’m going to be there more for you and our son, I promise, I know I let you down, but I want to be a family…I want to try again please.”
“One more chance.” She smiles and Ben smiled back as he brushed his nose against hers.
“That’s all I need.”

pairing: suna rintarou x fem!reader genre: flangst wc: 3.2k warnings: cursing!!, uncomfy vibes, it’s the ‘good friend but shitty boyfriend’ type beat synopsis: inarizaki high’s second year trip to kyoto is infamous for its many rendezvous. you just happen to want to follow the trend.
special thanks to kei @keistays for beta reading! ily <3
LISTEN TO: gimme love - joji; cool girl - dodie; bags - clairo
Tumblr media
“hey.” your hands are shoved in your coat pockets, your boots hitting against the asphalt as a small puff of smoke escapes your mouth. you meet him at the back entrance of the inn.
he looks up from his phone. “oh, hey. let’s go.”
his shoulders are lax, but his feet tell you otherwise. he scurries along the street, then stops to wait for your slower footsteps. the stoplight is green, but he doesn’t mind waiting for you.
you don’t say anything as he looks at you with tired eyes, a light red across his cheeks. you wish it wasn’t so cold - maybe then you’d know if it was you who had that effect on him.
the light is red now, and you feel your heart pound in your chest as you stand beside him, eyes flickering every now and then to check his blank face.
“where are we going again?” you inhale a bit of the cold air, nuzzling your face into the thick scarf around your neck.
“kamo river.”
“can we walk along gion too?”
suna shrugs. he tells you, “sure. whatever you want.”
the cars are less at night. only the bright green-yellow-red of traffic lights and the faraway warm glow of street lamps stay behind. kyoto’s beautiful, you think. you wish you could hang around for hours here with suna without a care for anyone else.
as soon as you two cross the first road, he lets out a sigh of relief. you then see him chuckle, almost silently. the sight of it makes you smile.
“are you hungry?” he asks.
“we can get snacks, maybe.” you’re caught off-guard at his sudden change of demeanour. or maybe you just don’t know him enough yet.
you’ve had so many questions about this boy for so long, and now that you’re here in kyoto with him - when you’re not allowed to be out, nonetheless - you’re not sure where you stand with him.
you were introduced to suna rintarou as osamu’s friend and the notorious middle blocker of the school volleyball team. you’re friends with the girls on the cheer squad - the same ones who would always teeter between the lines of friendship and romance with some of the boys on the school's sports teams. you only know the middle blocker by association. your interactions were limited to random glances as you brought your math paper down the room and the rare hello’s when you’d pass by his desk in the morning.
there was also the one time when the volleyball club planned a birthday surprise for suna and just had to assign you the role of the “distraction” because you weren’t in any “important clubs.” firstly, ouch, and second, why you?
yet it seemed like suna didn’t have a problem as you awkwardly approached him on the morning of his seventeenth birthday, seeing as osamu had weirdly been absent on his best friend’s birthday.
suna talked to you like a friend, and though he seemed uninterested in you at first, you made sure to spare him the purple chuupets from the canteen, telling him that you’d rather have the white ones instead.
you didn’t really think it was a coincidence when he left you three white chuupets on your desk on valentines day. so when you texted him about it, he gladly told you they were from him. since then, there always seemed to be an elephant that entered the room whenever you were with him.
it didn’t bother you at first, but as text conversations run late and a fluttering feeling in your chest arose, there’s a question that repeats itself in your head.
you heard it the most when he texted you tonight, telling you he couldn’t sleep, and judging from the way you had stayed up until the crack of dawn texting him on multiple occasions, it only felt right for him to ask you. you told him to meet you outside, discreetly, at half past midnight, when the teachers had stopped patrolling.
suna rintarou only texts you when nobody else is awake. suna rintarou only smiles at you after the first crosswalk, when you’re further away from the inn.
but suna rintarou also follows your every word with a question. suna rintarou also gave you, only you, something for valentine’s.
the question still stands: what are we?
the convenience store is no different to any of the ones back in hyogo. bright saturated colours and white fluorescent lights make you squirm in your almost sleepy daze. but your heart beats so fast and your skin is so cold that you’ve convinced yourself that sleep is not an option.
suna’s arm brushes yours as you two walk through the aisles, and he reaches for the warm drinks.
“we’re going to be walking some distance to the gion. better not have you fall asleep.”
you pick out a pack of chips from the shelf, and you raise your eyebrows at him, silently asking him if he wanted any. he nods, and you take four.
suna offers to carry the shopping bags as you two begin your little adventure through the city, wary of the closed shops and dark alleyways but enamoured by the old town nonetheless. you’re not surprised to be the one leading the conversation, seeing as he had always been the one to listen. but you notice how he hums with every interjection, how he laughs with every sarcastic remark, and how he makes sure to look at you whenever you tell him something about yourself that he didn’t know before.
when he speaks, there’s always a quiet attentiveness to him, suddenly so interested in the most useless topics and rambles you would otherwise think he’d dismiss. you notice how he tries to prolong any and all dialogue, like silence was to be untouched. you like it.
“hey, y/n,” the two of you stop and what seems to be the umpteenth red light, the area lined with closed shops and a late market just around the corner.
he turns to you, and you look at him “yeah?”
he hands you a can of coffee. you take it, confused, and he tells you, “it’s warm. could you just hold it for now?”
a shy smile creeps onto your face, and you nod slowly. he’s sweet, isn’t he?
you watch as puffs of cold air run out of his mouth, his voice low and mellow. when you think about it, you don’t really know him. you don’t know what he likes, you don’t know how he feels, you don’t know what makes him laugh or cry.
but you want to know. you want to know everything about him.
yet, there’s doubt tugging at your heartstrings that tells you he won’t let you. (you ignore it.)
"how was your trip?” suna asks.
‘you are my trip,’ you want to tell him, having secretly anticipated his asking you out. inarizaki’s second-year class trip to kyoto was infamous for its midnight rendezvous, where people would confess and go on dates in the freedom of an ancient city before the pressure of exams in the third year would temporarily keep everyone’s love lives on hold - at least that’s what you’ve heard. though you had told yourself they were only rumours, you can’t help but grin to yourself at the idea of a late night adventure with suna.
now, as you look down at the little can of coffee in your hands, you find that they were never just rumours.
“my group went to so many shrines...” you say, “at some point it just became the same thing over and over again, and the souvenirs just had to get more and more expensive. it was pretty, though.”
suna exhales through his nose, “all my group did was eat.”
you chuckle, “that’s to be expected when you’re with miya osamu.”
“i got good pictures, though.”
“oh? can i see?”
suna stops to shuffle his phone out of his coat pocket and hands it to you. he unlocks it in your hand, and you tell yourself to keep quiet at the brush of his large hands around yours.
it’s between your shock and his photos that you’re given a glimpse of the rest of his phone before you’re scrolling through a gallery of photos. for a second, you’re close to complimenting him on their beauty - you take it back when you click on the first one you see.
“suna, these are all blurry.” you deadpan jokingly.
“wasn’t my fault we were running all the time.”
you giggle, “why were you running?”
“for some reason class two and class one have overlapping routes, so the twins met.”
you nod in acknowledgement, “they don’t ever stop, do they.”
you click away from the pictures app and instead go onto the camera. he’s off talking about something funny that happened today, and as you laugh along with him, you snap a few (many) low quality pictures of you both from below, and then a video, just barely tilting the phone so that the underside of his head is visible in frame. you hope he’ll see them later - maybe even keep them in his gallery, you know, for keepsake.
you hand his phone back to him, “here.”
he sees your little grin and questions it, but he pockets his phone and continues speaking.
you start to wonder if you’re dreaming when he holds your hand.
Tumblr media
the air is colder when you two are seated along the kamo river.
“do you think we’ll get caught sneaking out?” suna says. you reckon it’s the first time you’ve seen him talk so much and so enthusiastically all at once.
you shrug, snickering, “i think we already have. they just don’t care because everyone goes out anyways.”
“nights of romantic rendezvous, they say.” he turns his head to you, a ghost of a smirk evident on his lips.
though you give a playful push to his shoulder, you scoot even closer.
“doesn’t that make us one of them?” you cringe at the question. you find your body turning to him, and it seems like he’s doing the same.
are we going too fast?
you don’t miss his mouth parting and his eyes staring at your lips. you can hear him breathe - he’s so close.
you hesitate a little; a lot. you succumb to small looks over his shoulder and quick glances back at the water until your mind starts to wander off into uncertainties and questions you don’t even know how to answer - because you can’t. you ponder why you’ve never really heard him laugh before tonight; if he’s keeping close to you because he wants your warmth or just simply hates the cold; why you find yourself second-guessing the moment you’ve wanted to happen since valentine’s day.
although your head is loud, your surroundings are quiet. then it becomes a matter of head and heart.
so you listen to your heart.
you want to kiss him, and that is what you know. the hunches and hesitations in your head aren’t concrete - at least not yet.
slowly, little by little, you let his lips collide with yours, closing the space in between. it’s cold and dry, yet the feeling is enough to enshroud you in a blanket of warmth. it’s short, as you expected, like a prolonged peck. you still feel a tingling sensation on your lips afterwards.
it’s then, for a fleeting moment, that you start to think that maybe you could find comfort in this fluttering feeling.
“have you seen anyone else going out?” suna asks like nothing happened.
you shake your head, “mina-chan snuck out with ayane-chan, and i think sakuragi-san with hirai-san... but that’s all i know.”
suna’s eyes widen at the mention of your friend, ayane. not that he cares about her, of course. he clears his throat.
“ayane? dating mina?”
“all the girls think they’re dating, but i guess it seems like a friendship for others.”
you inhale the cold air, and you feel yourself starting to regret the mention of her name. “i know ayane’s been out for a while. i’m glad that everyone’s been so accepting, too. she seems so lively all the time.”
suna’s eyes bottom into a sullen gaze, “yeah, ayane. i’m happy for her too.”
you snicker, “could’ve said that with more enthusiasm, no?”
suna shrugs, “we’re- yeah.”
perhaps he does care about her.
but suna stops himself as his eyes meet yours, “anyways, i bet sakuragi and hirai just wanna find a love hotel.”
you reply with a laugh.
“and i think akagi’s getting close to someone lately.”
you take a sip of your coffee, “really?”
“yeah,” suna zips up his coat tightly, “shit, it’s cold...”
you agree with him.
despite suna’s conscious efforts, conversation dies out when it’s meant to die. whether it be the tens of questions swimming in your head, the hundreds of i-told-you-sos that play in your mind, or the biting wind, you know neither of you can’t stall anymore.
it’s so pathetic, you think. you just kissed this boy and now you don’t know if it’s the coffee or his lips because the truth leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.
“suna, what are we?”
he doesn’t answer. he doesn’t even do so much as to react to your words, like if he prayed your words away, you never said them. his eyes bear holes into the ground, skimming through a mental encyclopaedia of answers he could form without hurting your feelings.
it’s then that the distance between you and him feels as wide as the river. it’s two in the morning, and you find yourself hugging your own legs instead of hugging him.
it feels like betrayal, almost.
not that he betrayed you; more like you betrayed yourself. in truth, you were tired of chuupets, always fighting your sleepiness when he texted you late at night, willing to put up with his shit talk behind everyone else’s backs.
yet you still worried that your legs wouldn’t look just right to him in the jeans you wore tonight.
you take a bag of chips from the shopping bag with snacks you two had splurged on earlier. it makes a quick pop as you open it, and suna hears a crunching sound beside him, away from his peripheral vision.
he’s frozen when you reach the bag out to him, offering him a chip. you’re relaxed, he thinks, even after asking that. it’s okay, he tells himself.
suna still shakes his head in decline and takes another sip from his convenience store coffee. he braces himself, because it’s only now that he’s realised the mess he’s put himself into.
“we’re-” he pauses.
you take another chip in your mouth, savouring its saltiness as you inwardly flinch at his hesitation.
suna takes a deep breath, “i mean, not everyone who goes out is-”
you see it now; you should’ve listened to your head.
“it’s ayane, isn’t it?” you brush it off. all of it.
he’s unmoving, not daring to even blink. but he opens his mouth to speak.
“i wanted it to be you.”
you want to laugh at him. at least he didn’t deny any of it.
“but it’s not, right?” you shake your head, bitter chuckles falling from your mouth, “and you have no choice because she likes girls, huh.”
“i’m sorry. i fucked up.”
you know you can’t cry, but you sure as hell would like to. maybe then he’d really feel bad about it, after knowing so well even back when he’d given you sweets on valentine’s that you were just a compromise.
“yeah, you did,” you pick at the grass around your soles, “what was even more fucked up is that i still thought i had a chance.”
“i still care about you.”
you exhale, hating the words that fall from his mouth. “of course you do! i’m your friend, osamu’s friend, ayane’s friend.”
you hate that you can’t hate him. you hate that you can’t hate how you genuinely get along with him, how his laughter and words hold no lies, how he’s honest with you. but that doesn’t change the way you hate how he’s led you on - and how you let him.
“is that why you were so smiley and eager tonight? because you were trying so hard to ‘win me over’ so you could forget about her?”
suna sighs. he needs to say something, he tells himself, because it’s only starting to sink in that he might even lose you as a friend. he kissed you, damn it, and held your hand, and asked you out on what everyone calls a date.
what a ‘friend’, huh?
“i’m so sorry.”
you wish he could at least say more. you feel a slash of anger, and though it stops quickly, you make a jab at him.
“you’re too lazy with your words. too lazy with your feelings.”
silence.
“i wanted to be wrong, but,” you shrug, “turns out you have a few things to work out yourself.”
his shoulders fall even lower, “i’ll stay out of your sight. i’m sorry.”
you laugh again, bitterly. your feet bring themselves to stand, and you decide to take the shopping bag and hug it. you think it’d look funny from afar, but you know it’s only to fill the hollow feeling in your chest and the burning embarrassment on your cheeks.
you look back at him, and his eyes are full of worry. they’re so wide that you almost feel flattered at his display of regret. you know he regrets it. you know osamu’s going to beat him up for it. you know the cheerleaders will talk about it. but you’ve forced all your focus on the bags of chips you’re holding and the feeling of a soft mattress back at the inn. the plan to gion is long forgotten.
suna stands up immediately, shoving his hands into his coat pockets, just trailing behind as you make no effort to slow down. you only speed up, briskly walking through the streets you remember from tonight.
you even cross the road on different green lights.
you don’t wait for him. not anymore.
the inn is a fresh breath of heated air, the reception dark and the stairs creaky. you tiptoe every inch of the way, not once looking back.
eventually, when you reach your room, you slide the door open, seeing nothing but your friend’s nightlight. you take care to place the bag of snacks in a corner of the room, hidden yet still available for any of your roommates to see. you’re quick to shed your coat and change into the gym clothes everyone’s been wearing since dinner, sliding into your futon and forcing your eyes closed like you hadn’t just drank an entire can of coffee.
you don’t cry, you don’t sob, you simply lay there. now you want to laugh at yourself, for knowing that something definitely was wrong, but having too big of a hopeful pride to even consider it.
your hands crinkle the thick futon and bring it up to your neck as you curl yourself up. warm. not electric nor addictive, just comfortable.
you wanted electric.
you wanted to take back all your words and ignore everything because he kissed you and held your hand and waited for you at the crosswalk, only for you to be some replacement for someone he can’t be with. it makes you wonder if he thought of her when he kissed you.
you hear the creaking of the wood boards and two voices. you know that it’s other people returning from their own little kyoto dates. their voices are high and squeaky and one of them had whispered something that you could hear three rooms away.
it stings even more. too bad.
“fucking embarrassing,” you mutter under your breath, turning in your futon, “so fucking embarrassing.”
you’ll tell osamu that you’ll be hanging out with the kids in class 3 for a while. you’ll ask your friends to save a seat for you on the train tomorrow. you’ll make sure to give away the snacks to everyone later. it’ll be a hassle, but you’ll do what you have to do.
at least you can let yourself sleep now.

Tonight (ft. TWICE’s Tzuyu) [Birthday Fluff]
Tumblr media
In reference to this ask!
So umm would you mind if I requested a full on fluff with Tzuyu for Tzuyu's birthday?
I wrote in a lot of the songs I listened to while writing, just for fun! I’ll link them below: The 1975 - Robbers The 1975 - Chocolate The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
---------------
It goes without saying that you adored your girlfriend. While both of you hadn’t dated for long, you really wanted to do something amazing for her on her birthday.
You had racked your brain for a good month. This was the first birthday of her’s you were spending with her, and you really wanted to make the effort to give her a birthday to remember. How were you going to do that? You grabbed at any source of information you could find - the Internet, books, magazines, articles, whatever.
The thought of your girlfriend was always enough for you to break out in all smiles. You’d met her at a concert, after months of being friends online. Both of you were in a clique made up of fans of the band whose concert you were attending. That was your first time meeting up, and through the few days you spent together for the concert, both of you hit it off. The cherry on top was that both of you ended up finding out that your residences were only ten minutes away from the other, which meant that both of you could regularly met up every weekend for coffee, a movie, or just to hang out. Soon enough, these friendly meetups blossomed into dates, and your friendship blossomed into a relationship. The whole friends-to-lovers trope seemed less unrealistic now that you’d fallen under that category.
Back to her birthday though.  As you sat down to plan, you thought about a conversation you had with your girlfriend from a month back.
-----
“Yah, babe, babe, babe, look!”
Chou Tzuyu excitedly tapped your arm, shoving her phone in your face with an amazed smile on her face. A picture of the night sky was displayed on a photography account on Instagram, and you held her hand steady to grab a good look. Tzuyu seemed to vibrate with excitement, rushing to like and save the post. “I love shots like these! I really wanna see the night sky like that someday... Oh, how I want to lie under the stars, and be free of stress. Nothing but me and the stars, the wind, the peace and quiet...” She clasped her hands together, holding them close to her chest. She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath, then exhaling with a smile. You just stared, moving to face her on the sofa both of you were sitting on. Tzuyu returned to viewing more photography on her phone, and you lay there thinking about how cute she was gushing about the night sky.
-----
You had your answer.
---------------
“Babe! What’re you doing here?” You gave her a wave, leaning against your truck parked outside her bakery.
Chou Tzuyu ran a bakery in the city center. Her bread was one of the best you’d ever tasted. Each bun was fluffier than the clouds overhead, the taste fresher than any other bread in the world. To you, when it came to bread, it was either hers, or nothing. She put her heart and soul into every single creation of hers. If you left her alone, there was no doubt she’d eat bread for all three meals of the day, and if you left her alone for even longer, she’d turn your kitchen into her laboratory to experiment with more pastries and how to make them.
Tzuyu ran to you, almost barreling you over with how hard she hugged you. She had the brightest grin on her face, nothing hiding her happiness at seeing you outside of her workplace. She looked just like the puppies she held so dearly in her heart, so pure, so unfiltered in her happiness. If she had a tail and puppy ears, you knew her ears would be soft and relaxed, and her tail would be wagging frantically.
“Hi baby.” Tzuyu smelled like bread and butter. Whenever you met her after work, she would smell just like that. You learnt to love the smell, as where she went, the fragrance would follow. Your arms wrapped around her tightly, as both of you swayed left and right in front of your truck, uncaring of whoever saw you on the street. “How was work?” You opened the door to your truck, letting her in, before shutting it and going over to the driver’s seat.
“Good, I earned about 1.5K today, and tomorrow’s my off day!” Tzuyu closed her bakery one day a week to rest, and you loved how it fell nicely after her birthday today. You smiled, grabbing her hand, rubbing your thumb on the back of her hand. “Happy birthday, baby.” You leaned towards her, planting a kiss on her cheek. Tzuyu squealed in surprise. “Thank you, babe!”
“Come, let’s go for dinner. I have somewhere I want to take you.”
---------------
Dinner was relatively uneventful, though you went all out and took her to one of the best Chinese restaurants. You knew she missed home - there were days she would seem out of it, and would look at photographs of her family. Tzuyu had moved here for her studies years ago and stayed to start up her bakery. You wanted her to at least be able to taste home on her birthday. She was clearly enjoying the spread on the table, her hands moving quicker than you could imagine, grabbing tons of food off the plates. She really missed the food from Taiwan. You didn’t each much, just enough to fill you, and you let her have the rest of it. It wasn’t often she had the chance to enjoy herself like this, and you loved seeing her cut loose.
After a bit of bickering about the bill (”It’s your birthday, I’m paying!” “No, I ate so much, I should be paying!”), you led Tzuyu out, pulling her to your truck. “Let’s go, we have a lot to do tonight.” You could see Tzuyu’s curiosity, but you refused to sate it, instead pulling out of the parking lot towards your next destination. “It’ll be a long ride, let’s listen to some music.” As your speakers began to play a familiar guitar riff, Tzuyu gasped, before exclaiming, “Robbers!” Yes, both you and Tzuyu were fans of The 1975, and it was at their concert that you’d met each other. As you drove through the roads of the city at night, you could hear Tzuyu singing the song softly. You decided to join in, grabbing her hand once more, squeezing it, before beginning to sing with her.
‘She had a face straight out a magazine God only knows but you'll never leave her’
As both of you sang, you could feel Tzuyu rub your knuckles, her smile somehow audible. You knew how much she enjoyed drives at night, and cruising with her significant other was something she loved.
‘You've got a pretty kind of dirty face And when she's leaving your home she's begging you to stay, stay, stay, stay, stay’
You thought about how much you cherished her presence in your life. Since the concert, she had quickly grown from friend, to crush, to girlfriend relatively quickly, and it all stemmed from how much both of you enjoyed this song. As you let go of her hand to turn the steering wheel with both hands, you could hear Tzuyu whine at the loss of contact. Laughing, you let your hand return to hers after your truck moved towards the exit of the city. You were lucky that traffic was relatively light tonight. The truck neared the exit as the song built to the outro. Both of you fell to the emotion of the song, duetting it together as you left the city.
As you exited the city, another familiar guitar riff plays. This time, neither announced the title of the song; Tzuyu just begins singing again, and you spare a few glances at her as she vibed with the music. Under the illumination of the streetlights, she looks just as gorgeous as compared to when she was bathed in natural light. Every glance you spared her led to you gaining an epiphany - you wanted to spend more moments like this with her. While your relationship was still relatively new, you began to suspect that she might be “The One”.
“Join me!” Tzuyu taps your arm incessantly, and you snap out of your thoughts as you navigate the road. You are mostly the only vehicle on the road, with the occasional oncoming truck, or car on the other side. Discarding your train of thought, you let yourself fall to the chorus of the song.
‘Oh we go where nobody knows With guns hidden under our petticoats No we're never gonna quit it No we're never gonna quit it, no Yeah we're dressed in black from head to toe We've got guns hidden under our petticoats No we're never gonna quit it No we're never gonna quit it, no’
Both you and her cruise in the night, enjoying the songs playing from your phone connected to the speakers in your truck. The night was yours, and there were hours to burn.
---------------
“We’re here!”
The radio is turned down to silence, and you stop the engine of the truck. Tzuyu gets out and surveys the surroundings. You grab a mat, cushions, and some blankets from the backseat, laying them out on the back of the truck. Beside you, you hear Tzuyu’s scream of happiness as she looks up at the sky. Above you, the stars shine brighter than they ever had, the full glory of the night sky displayed in the expanse above the both of you. The wind blew around you, the night breeze chilly against your skin.
“Come, baby.” You helped Tzuyu onto the truck, passing her a small bottle of cider for her to warm herself up in the night chill. Both of you sat at the back of the truck in comfortable silence, her sipping from her bottle, while you stuck to juice, since you needed to drive. Both of you carried on gazing at the sky.
“Look, do you see the Big Dipper? That’s also called the Great Bear...”
---------------
‘Ring!’ A mobile phone ringtone broke the peace and quiet after your impromptu lesson. Tzuyu fished for her mobile phone, and from the screen, you could make out vague Chinese characters. Your questions were answered instantly when Tzuyu’s face lit up, and she answered with “Hello, Mama!”
You turned to your side, getting up to greet Tzuyu’s mother. After exchanging pleasantries, Tzuyu began to converse with her mother in Mandarin, which left you out of the conversation. However, you did not mind trading that for the view of your girlfriend with unbridled joy stemming from spending time with her family members. You lay back down on your side, looking up at the smile of pure happiness on Tzuyu’s face. You let your love for her show through your expressions. She was your world, your pearl, your home. She was your everything, and the flame of love in your heart was shocking, considering how strong it burnt for her.
Somewhere along the line, Tzuyu began to laugh, covering her face in shyness, before turning to you, then giggling. Her mother began to laugh, saying something in rapid Mandarin. Moments later, Tzuyu hung up, turning to you and planting a kiss onto your lips.
“What did your mother say?”
“She told me to marry you.”
“What?”
“She told me to get married to you. Her reasoning was that you looked at me like the sun shone out of my ass, and this time wasn’t the first. Every video call she’s seen it happen.”
“It’s true. I love you. Every part of you. Through your flaws, insecurities, everything. They make you who you are, and I love you.”
Tzuyu’s eyes glistened with tears. You drew her into a hug, holding on tightly to her. “Don’t cry, oh no, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I’m so happy. I love you so much. I really do.”
“I love you too. So much.” You broke the hug, wiping at her tears with a handkerchief you brought. “Let’s finish up before we go back.”
---------------
The drive back was just as fun as it was on the way there. Both Tzuyu and you were somewhat dancing while singing along to the song playing on the speakers.
‘And I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust‘
You wanted tonight to last forever. Driving back and viewing the skyline of the city with this song as accompaniment was magical, and the experience was brought to the next level with your girlfriend- no, your world next to you.
---------------
“Thank you for today, babe. I loved it so much. I love you so much. Thank you.”
“No problem, baby. I love you too. Happy birthday.”
Tzuyu rose to kiss you deeply on your lips, staring deeply into your eyes after the kiss ended. “This has been the best birthday ever.” You smiled, pushing her towards her house. “Go on, I’ll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, Tzuyu.”
“Goodnight, babe.”
As you drove off, you thought about that ring you saw back in that jeweler’s before you left to pick her up. Maybe...

Titans 3x08
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!
READ AT OWN RISK!!!!!
Okay, we got a good episode y'all!!!!
Lets dive in:
-The opening scene. Personally, I hated how it went from Dick interacting with Barbara on the phone to Kori coming in and chatting with Dick. I'm glad we got a decent amount of Dick and Kori interaction this episode, but having Dick interact with Kori the second he's off the phone with Babs hurt me. This is what the comics have been doing to us for years. It's really just a slap in the face to fans of these characters and ships. It's really just unnecessary drama.
-KOM AND CONNOR OOOOOOOOH BOY. "So you're staying." Awe Connor, my sweet boy, I pray Kom doesn't hurt him. Connor and Kom are good for each other, but I do believe Kom does have a secret agenda that we haven't discovered yet.
-Tim and Dick meeting for the first time. I literally squealed seeing them on screen together. The claimed "best Robin" has just graced our screens! And he brought receipts to call out Dick, he had our man Grayson s-w-e-a-t-i-n-g. Tim was so confident, what a champ.
-Again, I'm questioning the ages of these characters because Tim said he was there the night Dick's parents died. So does that mean Tim was a wee little thing, or is he about the same age as Dick?
-Why do they have Dick dressing like Bruce. I don't like the vibes of Gotham Dick. I miss my henley shirt wearing fool who doesn't know how to act when Kori walks into the room.
-Dick, why are you driving out into traffic and getting hit by a car. You're better than this stupidity.
-Okay, lets discuss Kori's vision. I think her mother is trying to tell her about Ryand'r-Kori and Kom's brother (for those who don't know there is a third And'r sibling). I think Kom did something to him or that he is trying to reach out to Kori somehow. He is always known to be missing in the comics or they forget that he even exists and he pops up every once in a while, so I'm hoping it's him trying to reach out to her just like Kom did.
-Dick and Kori need to get their minds in order. Now we have Dick hallucinating again and Kori sleep walking.
-Can we discuss how Jason went to a sex club to find reconciliation from sex workers, I fucking died. Man, churches exist for a reason lol.
-When Tim stumbles upon Dick in the big "gotcha" moment and Dick responds with "I'm just a normal guy doing normal things." 'as I walk down a tunnel where Batman made us run around for hours trying to find our way out.' Yes, Dick. Totes normal stuff here. Tim is just like, "Dude, seriously?" I'm really gonna love their dynamic once Tim is on the team.
-I don't understand the interaction between Dick and Kori after Dick tells the team Jason is coming home. "Bruce told you to be a better Batman. There are two versions: One kills people and the other doesn't" What is that supposed to mean? Is Kori telling him vaguely that he can't be Batman? or if he is he needs to decide how he wants to act when it comes to criminals. I just need this clarified cuz Kori was the one person who wasn't bringing up the whole, "Be Batman" shit to Dick. These writers needs to stop bleeding these characters personalities.
-Crane shooting Tim. That was fucked up. And Jason not staying to tell the Titans the truth, that it wasn't him, isn't going to bide over well when it comes to next episode. They're still going to think he's working for Crane. Jason really makes me concerned for his well being. But I'm hoping he goes to Molly and Molly reaches out to Gar.
-I don't get what happened at the end. Did the fear toxin get to Babs and now she sees the Titans as a threat to Gotham? or was she having a revelation about something else?
-I really doubted Crane last episode for not having a back up plan. But if The Suicide Squad movie taught me anything, never underestimate the mama's boy with anger issues. He really played Dick and Kori like that. He knew Kori would come in and try to blast him with her star bolt. That damn inspector had to give him the insight he needed. Damn.
-WHERE ARE RACHEL AND DONNA, WE ARE DEPRIVED HERE!
I'm glad we finally had a Titans centered episode, keep them coming!!!!

slater!
Seo Changbin x female reader
2.1k words of fluff
slater: an all around nice guy
lol hi 0325stay here, back as peterssimp. I’ll probs be reposting old fics of mine haha
Tumblr media
It was supposed to be a lowkey get together with just a small group of friends, but you know how it goes. Word goes around. Friends tell friends then they tell their friends and now you were at home, packed with a bunch of strangers.
You didn’t mind that much, as long as no one was too rowdy everything would be okay. Though you didn’t know most of these people well, there was one that caught your eye. He wasn’t that tall, but he was tall enough. What stood out the most was the way he stood there, looking all confident in himself and mysterious.
This man didn’t do much. He just watched everyone, took sips from his cup with folded arms. He just stayed calm and quiet by the wall.
You took glances at him every once in a while, to see how he was doing and every time you peeked, it was like he felt you looking because he’d look back up at you and shoot you a smirk from across the room.
The blush would spread across your face whenever he did that, but you couldn’t help yourself. You had to keep looking. There was something so addicting to this guy even when he was doing the bare minimum.
Eventually, he caught on. He knew you were attracted to him and this time whenever you glanced at him, he gave you a nod and a smile. Laughing when he saw your face turn red. But he just continued to stand there, still with a cup in his hands, and probably watching over his friends.
It was the middle of the night now, but the party was still alive. And you were probably a bit tipsy, but not enough for you to forget anything you do. It did give you a boost of confidence though, so you decided to go make a move on this stranger.
You walked over to him after you filled your cup again and stood beside him, leaning on the wall. He was even more good looking up close, and under the shirt, you finally saw the large muscles on him which attracted you even more.
Before you could say anything, this man beat you to it. He saw how out of place your hair was, so with a finger, he pushed the strands of hair behind your ear and stared at your eyes. Making you blush even more now.
“What’s your real name?”
Apparently, he only knew you by the nicknames your friends passed around.
“Y/N…”
You gulped as you took another sip of your drink, trying to act cool, but you couldn’t. He smiled and kept his hand on your shoulder and bent down a bit to whisper in your ear.
“Pretty name for a pretty girl… Well, I’m Changbin.”
And just like that, you two got to talking. He was kind, but cold, just giving you that bad boy vibe. He looked so scary and intimidating, but when you two started talking, you could tell that he knew how to keep a conversation going.. It was light, but playful, also adding in some jokes here and there, just keeping you smiling and giggling as you two talked.
“You’re not seeing anyone, right?”
You kinda choked at the question, but you quickly shook your head saying no.
“Cute, ‘cause I’d love to take you out one time. You know, just talk more in a quieter place. Preferably alone.”
Changbin was about to lean down and give you a kiss on the cheek, but then, he heard one of his friends call him to help them and he excused himself from you, cutting the fun conversation short.
You watched him carry his friend off the couch and watched him struggle a bit to get his friend standing, but he managed to support him and he called an uber to go home. Being the host, you walked them out the door and watched the whole group get into the uber safely.
Before you shut the door, Changbin ran back to it and slipped you a piece of paper with all his socials and his number and quickly left you a peck on the cheek.
“I had fun tonight, good night.”
At this point, you were feeling starstruck by this man. He wasn’t too special, but you were just so drawn to him and you didn’t think that by simply standing beside him would lead you to getting his number and social media plus him asking you out.
You held onto that piece of paper tight that night as you waited for more people to leave your place. Surprisingly, one by one, each friend group started to leave and catch their rides home and finally, you were home alone.
Even though it was 1am, you couldn’t be at peace with yourself until everything was cleaned up. Luckily, everyone knew how to clean up after themselves so there wasn’t a huge mess left. Just some bottles and bags of food that needed to be put away.
“Hey, it’s Y/N from the party. Did you get home safely?”
You started to text Changbin while you started cleaning up. You didn’t think about how fast he’d reply because it was late and he was probably tired. But then, your phone started to ring and it was Changbin calling. You picked up and he started thanking you for the night.
He told you he and his friends got home safely and then continued on with the conversation you two were having earlier that night. Then, he asked you what you were doing and you mentioned that you were just cleaning up.
Changbin was lowkey feeling bad that you were cleaning up alone so he asked if you needed any help because he was bored and wasn’t tired just yet. You thought to yourself for a bit, maybe this could be the chance that you two could get to know each other even more, in the comfort of your own home.
You told him that he didn’t need to, but he kept insisting, saying that he wanted to see you too.
So, in a few minutes, Changbin made the drive to your house and knocked on your door. You were kind of shocked that he drove because you thought he had been drinking earlier, but it turns out, he wasn’t. It was only pop.
He started sweeping and mopping and throwing out the trash for you. Basically doing all of the work because he told you to just sit back and relax and just calm yourself down with some water. This man was a genuine hardworking guy, which made him even more attractive.
The connection you two had through this conversation somewhat made you feel safe and comfortable with him. Even though you two only met that night. His laugh was contagious and his comments were wise, but interesting. This man was different. Maybe you got lucky meeting him tonight.
Changbin finished cleaning up and your house was spotless now. It was now almost 3am, but you two were still enjoying each other’s presence. You didn’t want him to leave, so you offered him to stay the night if he wanted to.
Surprisingly, he agreed and offered to sleep on the couch, but you felt bad, especially after he cleaned the whole house for you. So, you shook your head and took his hand in yours and led him up the stairs to your room.
He mentioned that he wasn’t the type to do one night stands, so you just laughed because you weren’t the type to do that too. His face turned confused, but you told him you had another bed in your room that he was welcome to sleep on.
Changbin waited outside your room while you changed and then knocked on the door when you were done. You let him in and you two continued the conversation again. It was like a never-ending story between you two. He climbed into your bed with you instead of the other one, but you didn’t mind.
He laid there with you, just staring up at the ceiling while jokes were being passed around. Your hands were intertwined with each other as you spoke, but since it was getting late, you were starting to doze off throughout the conversation and Changbin noticed.
Gently, he pulled you in closer and let you use his arms as a pillow. Then you two just took a quick nap together until you started to hear the birds chirp as they woke up and it was right before sunrise too.
“Good morning”
Changbin said as he placed a kiss on your head, smiling when he saw that your hands were still holding his. He looked out to see that it was before sunrise and asked you if you wanted to take a quick ride to see the sun rise, maybe even grabbing some breakfast after.
Without hesitation, you agreed and off you two went. Usually you weren’t this trusting, but Changbin was different. He was like a breath of fresh air and you could tell that he was a good person from the start.
He put on his favourite morning playlist and drove freely through the traffic free streets of the city and then to the best viewpoint that overlooks the city. Throughout the ride, Changbin kept switching from holding your hand to his gear since he drove a manual car.
He took sweet looks at you while you kept talking. With the wind blowing through your hair and the quiet roads only highlighted your laughs with him. He was starting to feel lucky for meeting you too.
Finally, you two made it to the viewpoint and sat on the hood of the car as you watched the sun wake up. He never let go of your hand and now, he was even resting his head on your shoulder. It was like you two knew each other for so long already.
As you two watched the sun rise, Changbin shuffled down and rested his head on your lap, just looking up at you now.
“You’re something special, aren’t you?”
You didn’t know what to say, so you sat there in silence and just smiled back at him. His hand  guided your hand to his hair, moving it to let you know that he wanted you to play with his hair. And so, you did. It was comforting to both of you anyways.
Watching the sunrise was so calming and comforting and you two just felt right. Changbin decided to make another move and stood up in front of you, opening his arms up in an embrace. You gladly accepted it and now you were in his arms, feeling the warmth of his body as he hugged you tight.
He then looked down at you and with no hesitation went straight for your lips. Finally kissing you after wanting to kiss you the whole night. First, it was soft and quick, but when he pulled away with a smile, you pulled him back to just kiss him back longer.
Your lips brushed against his and it felt like butterflies were taking over your body. He felt your breath along his skin which only raised goosebumps all over, and he tasted the sweet gloss on your lips.
Changbin felt his heart beat faster and faster and when you continued sharing a kiss, his mind went blank and there was nothing else on his mind. He just wanted this moment to last. He was struck with happiness and content for once in his life.
When you pulled away and felt shy, you also saw him blush for the first time and he couldn’t stop smiling. He looked so adorable that you just wanted to capture the moment. You quickly pulled out your phone and asked him to pose for the camera. But he took it and flipped the camera around, sitting on the hood of his car and pulling you in between his legs.
He told you to count and to smile on 3. You followed what he said and on 3, you were surprised with a kiss on the cheek as he captured that moment with you. The sunlight hitting you two perfectly and making you look like gold.
“You’re so beautiful y/n. This one’s for the books.”
Despite only meeting him a few hours ago, you could tell that you and Changbin were going to be in each other’s lives for long. Again, he pulled you in for a hug and embraced you tight, leaving you kisses on top of your head, which was his habit and just watched the city below come to life now.
“Let’s get breakfast now?”

Sweet Night 5
Jae x Reader
“I’m sorry.” I said while still damping the tissue on his wet hoodie.
“It’s okay. What were you saying again?” He took the tissue from me and he do it on his own.
“Oh I was just gonna ask if you are?” I raised my lanyard to show the keychain to him. His small eyes widen when he saw it.
“How did you now?” He asked. So it’s true??? OMG!!!! My lips formed a big smile. I can’t believe, I’m going to tell it to Ara she would be excited.
“I saw your stuff animals’ collection.” I said cheerfully and pointed his shelves.
He looked at It and returned his eyes on me. He still looked confused so I tried to explain what I mean.
“I actually have a friend, she gave me this and she told me it’s a merch from a kpop group, you have the same so I assumed that you are..” He looked at me waiting me to continue speaking. I can clearly see the nervousness from his eyes. He might think that I’ll tell to other people what I know.
“You are a fan too.”
“Please don’t tell it to other people-“
We spoke at the same time but I heard what he said. He softly laughed and scratched the back of his nape.
“Yeah.. that’s right.. I’m a fan too.” He shyly said.
“Don’t worry I won’t say it.” I said, now I’m hesitating if I’m gonna share this to Ara. I bet she would be happy if I told her that I have a fanboy friend. It’s still weird for me to have a neighbor that is my friend too because I’m not that friendly. What in a bigbang theory is this, except that we’re both introverts and he don’t have a Sheldon.
“Uh have you seen or heard anything about that group?” He suddenly asked. I shook my head.
“Nah. I only know that they’re one of the kpop groups.” I said. I heard him laughed so I looked at him. “Why?”did I said something wrong?
“Nothing. I think they’re more of a kband than a kpop but that’s okay.” He explained. I know nothing about any of that but I like bands for sure I would like them. I almost forgot about the group that Ara said to me earlier, I’ll try to listen to them maybe I would like them too, the thing is I forgot their group name, I’ll just ask Jae if he knows it.
“By the way you know a kpop group that has kids in their name?”
“Stray Kids?”
“Yeah! that’s right, Stray Kids.”
“You like them?”
“Not really I’ll just start listening to them actually.” He nodded. “My friend will bring me to their concert so..”
“Really? That’s awesome.”
“You can come too. I will tell to my friend.” I suggest. Since he’s a fan too might as well invite him to their concert. “Have you attended a concert before? Because I haven’t” I laughed.
“Yeah I’ve been into some concerts, I perform there.” He said the last words under his breath so I didn’t hear it clearly.
“Ha?” I asked but he only shook his head and smiled at me.
“I’ll try to join you with your friend in the concert.”
“Cool!! I’d let you know..” I said. I wonder if he has other socials, but I still don’t know how his name spelled so it’s hard to find him. “Anyway, I think my job here is done so I’m now gonna head out. I have to feed the cat.”
We walked over his opened door. Before I turn and bid him goodbye he spoke.
“How’s Minnie by the way. I haven’t seen her.” He said. Of course you haven’t, you didn’t leave your room for a week.
“She eats a lot and whines a lot. So if you heard her in the middle of the night please don’t knock on my door.” He let out a smiley laugh where I can see his pearly white teeth and the disappearance of his eyes.
“It’s a cute cat. I won’t get mad.” He assures.
“I’ll keep that in my mind.” I raised my finger and pointed my head. I glance at his stretched lips, and that smile. what? I didn’t say that.
Today is Friday and I got off from work extra early. When this happens usually Ara and I would go to mall to window shop or I just accompany her but today she told me that she has something to go to. Also, I didn’t tell Ara about Jae yet, maybe soon if he agrees to come with us to the concert.
I went straight home after my shift so I can go to market. Minnie is running out of cat food supply and I’m running out of food too. I also want to have a chill night where I’d lay on my bed while I watch sum movies. I quickly changed my polo into a shirt and sweats. I wore the glasses that I only wear when I use my computer or phone. I went in front of my mirror to check myself. I stared at my reflection for a long time trying to examine what seems weird. Was it my face? I don’t have dirt on my face and I don’t look tired either. It’s the clothes. I look like Jae. Sweats and glasses, I look comfy as heck.
I don’t want to spend time just to change so I’ll just ignore that I accidentally dressed up as my neighbor, as if that I would bump into him today, I barely see that guy. I carry my tote bag with my phone and wallet in it, and I wore my slides. I left my apartment and locked it.
“You’re going out too?”
I jolted when I heard a voice. Speaking of my neighbor, in fact I don’t even have to turn around just to know who it is. Still, I turned around to face him.
“Yeah, just grocery and you?” Thank g he’s wearing a black hoodie while mine’s gray.
“I need to pick up something.” He said while he’s locking his door.
“Where do you grocery shop?” He asked. I waited him so we can walk together.
“Emart.”
“My way is also there; do you want a ride? I already booked a grab.” He showed me his phone with the said grab. I mean free ride? Of course I do.
“Sure.” The lift opens so we enter. From 15 floor going to ground floor is a long ride so I made myself busy by observing every single thing that I see here inside the lift. When we entered there are already sum people inside, 2 guys and a couple who can’t keep their hands off each other. Not that I’m judging them, but from what I can see, what they’re doing considered PDA already. Hugging, laughing and teasing like there’s no tomorrow.
I don’t know if those guys are annoyed too and just trying to ignore them or maybe it’s just only me. I glanced to Jae to see what he’s doing, looks like he’s not bothered at all. His left hand slipped inside the pocket of his pants; other hand is on his phone.
Another person entered the lift. I moved backwards so she can have space. The couple moves backwards too so they’re now standing beside me, I can even feel her bag nudging my arm but I tried to ignore it. Within a hot minute her arm hit my side causing me to bumped Jae. I looked at the couple as calm as I can possibly can.
“I’m sorry miss.” “sorry miss.” They both said in union.
“It’s okay.” I said calmy and showed my nicest smile. I want my afternoon to be chill and stress free plus I may see them again I want to protect my pure reputation as a good neighbor. Suddenly I felt a hand on my elbow that slowly pulled me closer to him. I felt an electric shock that send shivers all over my body. I stood frozen next to him because of how close we are. I can even smell his perfume, it’s like a mixture of fresh fruity and baby powder. I wonder where he bought it.
He let go of my arm when we reached the ground floor. We walked towards the entrance of the building but I stayed walking behind him. He looked back at me and stopped walking so I can catch up with him. When we got out the building, we can see that there’s a car already waiting. Jae made me get on first and I thought that he would sit beside the driver but he sat next to me.
It’s rush hour already and we we’re caught by traffic. I stared outside the car window like I always do when I commute. There’s time where I’m channeling my main character vibes when I look outside the window. None of us is taking and the sound from the cardio radio playing sum R&B soul songs was the only noise. Jae was busy scrolling through his phone, though I don’t want to bother him but I feel like I should speak.
“So where are you heading to?” I blurted out. I tried not to look at him directly so I stared at the driver’s seat.
“Somewhere near the TBD Company”
“Isn’t that where most celebrity’s hangout or sumthin?” I’ve never been into that area and I know that, that place is one of the richest districts.
“Well not all because I go there all the time.” He said before he turned off his phone and looked at me.
“Have you ever bumped to a celebrity?” I asked. For sure he had at least once, especially when he said that he have been there a lot.
“Just some of them. I’ve always seen Mark Tuan in a coffee shop that I go to, you know him?” Is he kidding? I think he’s the only famous person that I could remember that Ara ever told me. She showed me a video clip of him dancing and I think I forgot to breathe for a sec, plus he got the cutest smile. I must admit that prolly have a thing for people’s smile.
“You mean the very good-looking guy?” I said in awe and he laughed at my reaction. Well, I only said what know is true.
“Yeah, that very good-looking guy.” He said casually as if that he knows him but he’s still laughing. Wait if he seen some celeb then he might have seen his Kpop Idols.
“How about your favorite Kband? Day6?” I’m honestly just guessing, but I believe most of the company’s are located there so assume that they work there. Instead of answering me he let out a fake cough.
I immediately understood what he’s trying to say so I leaned to him and whispered. “Okay I won’t mention in public that you’re a Kpop fan.”I assure him. I find it funny that he’s getting conscious and shy about other people knowing that he’s a fanboy.
“No actually.. yeah alright, I’ll just take that.” Yeah, whatever Jae. I looked outside and saw that we’re almost near the market, I turned to Jae and poked him.
“You can drop me off here.” He nodded.
“Mr. can you pull over to the next street.” Jae said.
“Thank you for the ride Jae.”
“No worries, what time you will be done?”
“I don’t know I may take a while.” I may take a while since I don’t have a grocery list so I’ll prolly have to go to every aisle to remember all the stuff that I needed, a life hack that I learned when I started living on my own.
The driver pulled the car off the road. I turned to Jae before I opened the door.
“Thank you again.” I said and he smiled. I opened the door and got off the car. I waited for them to leave before I enter the market.

ill do you one better 1 of my favorite mutual, reverse & personality au, they’re the same age bc I have a tiny idea *shy hands*
this is uh. a really long one thay started to lag my phone too
• oh god guys I got vivid memories of ra’s being a good grandfather and I can’t get it out of my head
• i hate it ur honor
• but ok. krypton didn’t get blown up, instead, they all migrated to earth, more specifically kansas.
• the kryptonians are angry and enraged, they are treated as if they are monsters when they arrived peacefully. they tried to kill them.
• so in return, the aliens killed the humans.
• they created a secret underground. that secret underground is to help aliens or meta humans and kill humans.
• all of them hated aliens and sought to destroy them. until kal el found a reporter trying to help aliens who were injured due to an explosion the government did to take out one of their bases.
• kal el.. fell in love with her. lois lane, she is an reporter fighting for alien rights.
• he met with her. in secret. and they.. had formed a connection. an amazing one.
• and then they had a baby.
• at the alien base, but.. she was human and people did not like that. so they wiped her mind and made her believe that they never had a kid. like the last few months.. wasnt real. she had gone missing those months since the aliens didn’t want her trying to hide the baby, they made her believe the last few months was spent in a coma and kal had found her and taken her to a hospital.
• he couldn’t see her anymore. he mourned for her lost presence, but they would have killed her if she stayed.
• but now they had precious jon el. he would be the highlight of their cause.
• they noticed his powers came in faster than kal’s, so they perfected his powers.
• he was going to bring humanity down on order of his grandfather, jor el
• kal saw his son break slowly. loses that childhood innocence that kal tried to maintain.
• his sons amazing bright blue eyes dulling, loses the spark that he cherished.
• kal was going to get him out of there, try to refuge the remaining childhood he had. even if it killed him.
• damian wayne! the bright bubbly and prodigal son of bruce and talia wayne ( b & t are married, suck my— ). the press loved him, he was just.. him. he was the baby and was cute, the cutest ever
• he was an expert in martial arts due to the training his grandfather, father, mother, & so much more gave him
• ra’s owns a farm. he’s.. sorry all i get is farm ra’s vibes due to.. something:) think endgame thanos, yk?
• he was the baby robin, one that you never messed with due to the herd of heroes who would come save him
• kalel left jon with Lois, a brief note explaining the current situation
• it was weird, jon was ten and was meeting lois for the first time
“Hi, honey.. I’m lois.”
“I know.. Dad told me about you.”
“Oh.. right. What do you want for dinner?”
“I’m not hungry.”
“You have to eat.”
“No! I’m not hungry!”
• an explosive, superpower alien. Lois is way out of her head.
• he had outbursts, a lot of them. it was hard, really hard for Lois; she took some time off from the planet and focused on jon
• he broke a lot of stuff. he sometimes could not control his strength, but she was working with him
• but then one night he ran away, or flew away. he felt remorse for making Lois cry. she saw this as a win, but she lost her kid
• but then a little robin found him
“Um. Are you okay?”
“Huh-what- what do you want? Why are you talking to me?”
“Because you look sad? Yknow - hugs make people feel better. My ahki ( brother ) hugs me when I’m upset and it makes me feel better.”
“Don’t touch me.”
*Damian walked to him, smiling softly* “cmon, i won’t hurt you, silly. I’m robin.”
“A bird?”
“Haha- no, a vigilante- i sorta snuck out. My family can be a bit overbearing- and I sorta embarrassed myself at this theater thing.. some person—“
“Did I ask?”
“No.. sorry.”
“Hey— what are you doing - !”
“Hugging you.”
Jon won’t admit that he likes it, it’s different and weird, like this traffic cone in front of him. Jon pushed him off though, making himself stumble and fall on his ass.
“Ow..”
“Don’t touch me.” With rhat, Jon flew off into the night. Damian didn’t know who this boy was. But he intended on finding out. Even if it killed him. ( maybe not that extreme, but- )
• look damian was smart, right? smarter than average, and smarter than everyone in his school. teachers included ( ha ha )
• so he had to find this boy! so he started looking into aliens. until his family put an end to it
“Damian, this is dangerous.”
“But baba ( dad )”
“No. Go to your room.”
“Ugh!”
• he did slam his door shut if you were wondering
• he will find the mysterious alien boy, okay? he will!
• his brothers teased him and said he had a crush
• no he didn’t! the boy was really mean, he pushed damian- why would he do that? whatta jerk!
• but damian did find him again when he ventured off to metropolis to visit an old friend, colin.
“Alien boy!”
“That’s not my name, bird boy.”
“And that’s not mine. You didn’t tell me yours!”
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“It’s safer for you.”
“I can defend myself. You sound so silly, please tell me your name?”
“No.”
“‘Least the first initial?”
“Fine. J.”
“J it is.”
“Yours?”
“Wha- what? I told you my code named.”
“It’s only fair.”
“.. Okay. D.”
“D. Okay.”
• damian talked to him for a bit before jon did fly off when damian was talking about the stars, damian knew he was getting closer to him
• but he got grounded. whoops. he wasn’t supposed to go out
“Give me your phone, Damian.”
“What if I go out? I need a phone, baba.”
“I.. Your computer”
“School work.”
“Switch.”
“What! No- but-!”
“Damian.”
• yeah damian was very mad, but what made him madder was that apparently, his family was listening to the secret conversations between J and him. but d didn’t know that yet..
• his family needed to track down J, they didn’t care if people were aliens, the JL had aliens.. but they had no idea who this boy was, and the way damian was looking into the underground alien sanctuary, that worried rhem. Damian was smart and cunning, but he is able to portray an innocent persona, they all had the habit of undermining his intellect, so if damian began looking into this, it was for a reason
• jon found that D rambled. A lot. Even when jon didn’t respond. Jon doesn’t even know how D always found where he was. It’s so weird.
• but Lois noticed a change in jon.. he was. calmer. she didn’t know how, but when he went out, he came back calmer.
“I have to go to Gotham for a gala hosted by Bruce Wayne, would you.. like to come?”
“Do you want me to?”
“I’d like you to, but you don’t have to.”
“.. Fine.”
• lois walked to bruce with Jon in tow.
• “bruce.” “Lois, looking lovely as always.. who is this?” “Jon, my son. Say hi, Jon.” “Hi..” “He can hang around one of my sons— Damian, if you want? I’m sure him and his friends would love to have Jon around.” “What do you say Jon? Would you like that?” “Not really..” “I assume you, Damian doesn’t bite. Not anymore. And he’s pretty accepting.” “.. Fine.”
• damian was called over by his father and he did a double take. J. Was here. In front of him. Damian just internally shrugged and held a hand out, “Hi! I’m Damian! Wanna go play with my friends! there’s a game room so we don’t have to be with the gross adults.. you can also just.. sit there. My friends are pretty.. Loud?” “Okay.”
• jon had to take his hand back from damian since damian began eagerly tugging him.
“Damian seems to be accepting him pretty easily.” “I hope they can be friends, Jon.. doesn’t have any. I have only recently got him from his.. father.” “Odd, does he go to school?” “No, not yet, I’m still trying to get him adjusted.” “Ah.. Damian goes to West-Reeves. Maybe he could go there?” “That private school? Bruce.. I cannot afford that- not all of us are millionaires.” “Mhm.. I could pay.” “I can’t let you do that.” “He could get a scholarship.” “In what?” “Academics or athletics.” “Ill.. Talk to him about it. “ “well, ms lane, I just go talk with potential partners, I’ll see you later.”
• j got accepted into west reeves under a athletic thingy.
• that was cool. they became best friends!
• sorta
• flashforward 5 years to 15, their dynamic only grew. Damian told Jon his identity, jon didn’t become a hero, but did learn how to stitch damian up because tje idiot showed up bleeding a lot.
• everything was going great
On the phone, Damian: J! J! Guess what’
J: you’re so loud, D, what?
D: I got the lead! In the play!
J: no fucking way?
D: way!
J: Good j—— *crash*
D: J-?
D: J- Jonathan?
D: oh no.
• the call was ended abruptly. Jon always finished his sentences. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong.
• so damian called Lois quickly and ran downstairs to the batcave, lois wasn’t picking up either, she normally always picked up or at least sent a text. She did neither
“Baba!”
“Damian? You should be asleep.”
“Something’s wrong! Somethings really wrong!”
“Jon and Lois- Jon- I heard a crash- and- and”
“Habibi.”
“Mama?”
“Breathe; tell me what’s wrong.”
“I was on a call with Jon.. I told him about the play since I wanted him to go and stuff. Then I heard a crash. And then the line went dead. I’m scared— what if something happened!”
“Let’s not jump to conclusions, what happened with Lois?”
“She didn’t pick up the phone— she normally does! Or she texts me and says she will call back!”
“Maybe she is asleep.”
“No! You need to believe me!”
“Damian, calm down, I do, we will go to see if they’re okay, you get back to bed.”
“No. I’m coming with.”
“No you arent.”
“But!”
“Listen to your father.”
• okay fine. He’ll listen, damian went back up to his room for half an hour before calling his friends to do a rescue mission. He had an extra suit in his room, he can do this.
• with his team, it consisted of shazam, abuse, nobody, and green lantern, himself too, of course.
• captain marvel picked him up once he was ready and they met up with the other 3.
Maya: you said he’s in trouble?
Dami: Yes.
Colin: than let’s go save him!
• they went and saved the bestie, nearly got killed too
• oh and now damians sorta probably grounded when batman shows up 🤡
J:You came for me..?
D:We all did.. why are you so surprised?
J: * wraps his arms around damian * thank you
D: i- yeah.. anytime. what’re friends for?
• friends. Jon liked that. Jon also liked the way Damian’s cheeks went red when jon hugged him
• jon knew he chuckled before Damian’s arms wrapped around him. hard. Damian was a hard hugger
• jon became a superhero at 16. Damian had even more of a reason to sneak into his window every night now! Lois had began thinking the two were dating
D: Us? Dating? Please! He is way too good for me!
J:
L: awwww, gosh, how haven’t you been swept off your feet yet?
J: he has, but he has rejected them all
D: what can I say? I’m a gay theater kid ( this is a /j i promise a big big joke ) so they gotta be dramatic enough to put up with me, AND they need to do something big and bold to actually catch my eye
L: *laughs* take notes, jon
J: mom!
• jon has gone to a few of Damian’s plays and to dress rehearsals
• he was also there to watch damian wreck a car during his drivers test
D: there was a fricking squirrel there, J!
J: are you sure? maybe you’re just a shitty driver?
D: you’re a shitty driver!
J: cmon don’t pout
D: ‘m not!
• he was pouting. oopsie. jon did get him ice cream after
• jon goes by abnormal, because he’s an alien and because I don’t have any other ideas
J: this girl asked me out
M: oh? who! tell us!
D: ..what?
J: yeah, in my physics class
T: ooh! get it, jonno
M: give us a name, coward!
J: her name is Charlotte— but she goes by charlie. she’s.. different. red head. pretty freckles—
M: pretty freckles? does Jonny have a crush?! Oh my gosh, our sons growing up, Tai!
T: im about to start sobbing
J: fuck offff— D?
D: huh?
J: you’re being quiet, you plotting??
D: uh. yeah! duh- *he nudged jons shoulder with his, forcing a grin* figuring out ways to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend.
J: sucha brat- * jon ended up putting Damian into a playfully chokehold *
• damian just played along. he just smiled and watched as jon began walking with her instead of their friend group
M: hey- kid- you alright?
D: I’m onto a year younger than you Maya.
M: tou didn’t answer the question
D: I’m fine, why wouldn’t I be? You’re silly.
• tai ended up pulling him aside
T: when are you going to tell him?
D: how am I supposed to when he basically has a girlfriend now?
T: are you just gonna sit there and pine all day??
D: yes, thank you for understanding
• he’s a stubborn little shit and will absolutely not confess, his best friend is happy, who is he to ruin that?
T: he’s totally jealous.
J: so- do you- do you think it’ll work? That he’ll be surprised?
T: totally
J: thank you for lending me your girlfriend, Maya
M: anytime- not literally- you aren’t having her again
• this was all a trick, sorry, d.. jon does like you
• ( hope you all saw that foreshadowing earlier :) )
• damian needed big and dramatic. jon was gonna do that. even if he was uh. sorta aloof and shy.
• he learned how to sing and play the guitar for Damian. maya and tai were gonna scatter flower petals onto the floor for Damian to follow ( they will tell him too too )
• the whole school will probably watch as Damian finally gets a big dramatic proposal
• damian will love it
M: just follow the petals!
D: I’m confused
M: trust us
• damian did and followed the petals and low and behold, jon kent with a guitar and small smile
D: j-jon?
J: hey. I wrote you a song
D: no you didn’t
J: shut up and listen dumbass
*after that amazing song of how Jon asked damian out to homecoming*
D: that was amazing
J: dramatic enough for you?
D: YES! ( damian went and sprinted to jon, hugging him so tightly before leaning in to kiss him ) we are boyfriends now right
J: yeah, idiot
D: ur the idiot
• I can’t add anymore because myphones really laggy, I hope you enjot

Behind Closed Doors
Tumblr media
  Requested: 👍
Summary/Request: Can I request a fic where Auston is in love with the reader but so is Freddie and the reader has feelings for Fred so they date in secret as to not hurt Auston but he finds out when he catches them together or something 😅 *edit* would it be possible to make the reader really shy and quiet and possibly a little bit innocent and Fred thinks Auston only likes her because he wants to corrupt her or something like that
  Warning: fluff, angst
Author’s Note: So, I decided to do this in kind of a “timeline” set up. So we start with them all meeting each other and then see how Auston fell for the reader and how Freddie and the reader started a relationship and how/why they decided to keep it a secret which made the fic REALLY long. About three quarters of the way through, I thought about splitting it up but didn’t so... it’s just really long. ALSO! I’m pretty sure credit for this GIF goes to @moto-leafs but I originally found it on Google Image Search and that link took me to Pinterest so I could be wrong. If I am, please correct me! But I mean, look at that GIF -- so much anger, I had to use it. Lastly, I just want to point out that I know nothing about the Raptors or basketball in general and, to be honest, I have no interest in learning anything about it. I apologize if the players I referred to are not good players or that they’re not actually currently on the team (I looked up the Roster and just randomly picked names.) Lastly, to anon, I already had most of the fic written when you sent in your ask so I’m not sure if I was able to completely fulfill it. Still, I hope you enjoy it! Stay Golden, loves! <3

Auston’s P.O.V
The Raptors game was disappointing. It started out great but late in the third quarter, they gave up their lead and ended up losing by 20.
“Well...” Freddie sighed, “what do you wanna do?”
“Ugh,” you groaned, “I don’t know , I j--” Your attention was stolen by the scent of coconut passing you by and you tried to find who it belonged to, your eyes landing on a group of girls giggling near the exit. “Follow them” you said under your breath
“Huh?” Freddie replied, drawing your attention back to him
“Sorry,” you said before quickly making your way to the group of girls that held your attention, “follow them.” You repeated to Freddie as your feet began to move
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” he laughed, “we can’t just go following a group of girls. That’s a little creepy, don’t you think?”
“Then let’s go talk to them...” you sighed, “that’s all I meant. They just smell so damn good...”
  “What?” Fred scoffed
“Just.. follow me.” You came up behind the girls, listening to them laugh with each other, and leaned down to greet them. “Hi,” you said happily, standing up straight when they turned to you, “I’m Auston. This is Freddie.”
“Hi,” one of them said, “I’m Lily”
“Shirley,” another introduced herself before laughing, “my parents were big fans of Shirley Temple”
“Gabby” another said with a smile
“Tracy” the next one greeted and you were soon met with the eyes of the last girl of the group. Catching the scent from earlier and waiting for her to speak
“Hi,” she smiled shyly, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, “I’m (Y/N), it’s nice to meet you both...”
“We’re sorry for just.. kind of stalking you guys,” Freddie chuckled, “we just wanted to say hi. And see if you wanted to join us for some drinks?” The girls looked back and forth between each other before Lily agreed for all of them
“We’ll grab our own ride and follow you there?” she said
“Or we could all just walk over” you suggested
“Well...” Gabby chimed in, “what bar are you taking us to?”
“There’s a place called the Loose Moose. I’ve heard it’s a good vibe”
“It’s a short walk” Tracy said
“And it’s not too cold out” (Y/N) added with a shrug
“I like it. It’s like we’ll have bodyguards” Shirley joked
“Alright then! I guess that’s settled” Lily laughed, gesturing for everybody to head out the exit.
“So what’s the plan here?” Freddie asked in a whispered tone as the two of you followed behind the group of girls, staying close so you didn’t lose them
“Don’t really have a plan,” you replied, “just thought we’d hang out...”
“That’s it?” he scoffed, “you’ve got no thoughts?”
“What did you have in mind?” you chided
“Nothing,” he chuckled, holding his hands up in defence, “I just thought that you’d have something in mind. You know... since you were the one who wanted us to ‘follow them’”
“Like I said, I just thought we’d hang out. Have some drinks, laugh a little. No ulterior motives” you confessed. You both listened to see if you could hear either of the girls talking about you, trying not to be too obvious, but when (Y/N) turned her head to look at you, you both jerked your heads away; watching her smile before whispering something to her friend.
  “So...” she started, “why us?”
“What do you mean?” you asked with a smirk, catching Freddie watching you as she spoke, leading you to train your eyes forward
“Oh come on!” she scoffed dramatically, “don’t think that we don’t know who you are. We’re not dumb enough not to realize that you’re Auston Matthews and Frederik Andersen of the Toronto Maple Leafs” she smiled as she gestured enthusiastically, keeping relatively close to the two of you, your arms rubbing against each other every so often. “But why did you pick us? Why did you come over and ask us to get drinks with you guys?”
“Fair enough,” Freddie smiled, grabbing her attention before you could, “we couldn’t help it. We saw you all from across the room and we got a little... entranced.”
“Entranced?” she giggled, turning her body ever so toward Freddie, “really, that’s what you’re going with?”
“Yeah, I think it is” Freddie smirked. You watched as the two locked eyes, leaving you to direct them through the crowd, never feeling like more of a third wheel in your life.
xx
It was strange, to you, that two professional athletes would want to take you and your girls out for a drink but then you thought to yourself: five of us, two of them, they’re probably just playing the odds. So, when Lily agreed to go to the bar, you couldn’t exactly think of a reason to say no.
“They’re cute!” Shirley whispered to you as you walked arm in arm down the sidewalk
“Are you planning on making a move?” you smirked
  “Maybe,” she replied, “are you?”
“I don’t think so” you smiled. You weren’t really the flirt of the group, you usually left that up to Lily and Tracy, and you were almost positive they were the reason Auston and Freddie approached the group anyway. That didn’t mean you couldn’t be a wing woman for them or get some answers for yourself. You looked back and caught the two laughing between themselves before jerking their heads away as if not to be caught by you, “hey, I’ll be right back okay?”
“Mhm...” Shirley hummed teasingly and you dropped your arm from hers and fell back to where the boys stood
“So...” you said as you tucked yourself between the two of them, “why us?”
“What do you mean?” Auston replied with a smirk
“Oh come on” you scoffed, switching your gaze between the two of them as you continued. “Don’t think we don’t know who you are. We’re not dumb enough not to realize that you’re Auston Matthews and Frederik Andersen of the Toronto Maple Leafs,” you smiled as you confessed something you knew they already knew, feeling Auston’s arm graze against yours every once in a while as the three of you continued walked pretty closely together. “But why did you pick us? Why did you come over and ask us to get drinks with you guys?”
“Fair enough,” Freddie smiled and you couldn’t help but be drawn to him, “we couldn’t help it. We saw you all from across the room and we got a little... entranced.”
“Entranced?” you giggled, turning your body to his, “really? That’s what you’re going with?”
“Yeah,” he smirked, “I think it is.” You tried not to stare at him, even when you heard your friends laugh or when you felt Auston’s hand on your back to direct you away from oncoming traffic on the sidewalk, but you couldn’t help it; he had you hooked.
xx
Freddie’s P.O.V
The entirety of the night was spent trading shots and expressing how deeply disappointed you all were in the Raptors
“I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY GAVE UP THEIR LEAD SO EARLY!” Gabby exclaimed
“I can’t believe Davis missed that shot!” Shirley added
“Lowry was off tonight,” Auston sighed, “ruined the entire game”
“Now hold on,” (Y/N) interjected, “you can’t blame it all on Lowry.”
“I can’t?” he asked, raising one eyebrow and you shook your head before smiling
“It’s a team sport,” (Y/N) continued, “Watanabe and Siakam should’ve helped out their man.” You finished your beer before asking the group if they wanted another drink and everyone seemed to be empty
“Here,” Freddie called out as you walked away, “let me help you.” You placed your hand on the small of her back to let her know that you were there. As you waited for the bartender to take your long list of drink orders, you decided this was your chance to get to know her a little better, “so.. what do you do?”
“For work?” she asked, “I’m a social media content curator...” she rolled her eyes at her title
“I take it that’s not what you want to do?” you smiled and she shook her head
“No...” she sighed, “I went to school for interior design but, because I’m a millennial, everyone thought I knew what I was doing online. Spoiler alert: I have to use Google for everything I do in my job because I have no idea what’s going on” she laughed. “But I have so much student debt and the job pays well...”
“What do you want to do?” you asked
“Like what’s my dream job?” she replied and it was your turn to nod for her to continue, “I-- someday, I want to have my own company. I want to be able to design spaces for luxury hotels and million dollar homes while also breathing life into non-profit organizations like homeless shelters and food banks...” she got so excited explaining her dream that you could only watch in awe as her eyes sparkle as she shared her ideas. “I’m sorry...” she blushed, “am I talking too much? I’m talking too much, I’m sorry”
“No no no!” you exclaimed, stopping only for a second to finally order the drinks for the group. “Don’t be sorry,” you continued, “I like hearing you talk. I like hearing you get all excited, it’s exciting for me” she chuckled at your confession before walking ahead of you back to the group, sitting down across from her friends and you grabbed the open seat next to her.
“Thank you” she smiled, pushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear so you could still see her face. The night continued with more alcohol, more talking and a little bit of dancing and you kept getting closer and closer to (Y/N) but when you got too tired to keep dancing, Auston stepped in. You watched as they laughed together, swaying to the music before (Y/N) let her head fall back onto Auston’s chest, stopping when the music changed; Auston making his way toward you quickly as (Y/N) stayed back with her friends
“You should back out there,” he smiled, wiping off the sweat from his brow, “everyone’s having a lot of fun” he said as he looked back at the girls. There was a look on his face that you could tell meant he was falling for her, “god she’s somethin’ huh?”
“Who?” you questioned dumbly, hoping that he’d say someone else
“(Y/N),” he scoffed, taking a sip of water, “I mean look at her!” he exclaimed, gesturing to the girl you’d begun falling for. “That smile, that hair, the way she moves her hips. I mean, I could swear she was testing me out there” you had to stop yourself from getting offended on behalf of (Y/N), but the way Auston was talking was starting to infuriate you
“I didn’t think she was your type...” you mumbled
“She’s not, not really,” he smirked, “but I’m allowed to have a little fun. Plus, she looks so innocent... I like that”
“So, you just want to corrupt her?” you scoffed
“Corrupt her? No way!” he said, “I just wanna see how innocent she really is”
“So, you’re just gonna fuck and chuck? Really? You’re gonna be that guy?” your anger had gotten the best of you and you just snapped
“Whoa,” he replied with a chuckle, holding his hands by his shoulders in defence, “there’s nothing going on with you two right?” You looked back at where (Y/N) was on the dance floor, bopping with her friends and laughing with the people around her, before looking back at your friend and teammate. What were you supposed to say? No, I’m not into her. I don’t find the way she laughs hypnotizing. I don’t find her passion exciting. I don’t think she’s sweet. Or funny. Or smart. I’m not into her. Of course not. But of course, that would be a lie, “Freddie? Hello?..”
“Sorry...” you said, shaking your head, “have you asked her out?”
“No,” he admitted, “but the way you’re acting, I guess I just thought I’d make sure nothing was going on before I did...”
“No, nothing’s happening” you strained a smile, looking at (Y/N) before continuing, “ask her out. See what she says. See if she’s as innocent as she seems...” he smiled at you and patted you on the shoulder as he finished the water in front of him, shifting in his seat as the girls came back to the table.
“HEY!” they all exclaimed, the alcohol clearly taking effect; (Y/N) sat beside you and you tried to not get too close; leaving space for Auston to make his move. The look on her face proved that she wasn’t happy with the way you were suddenly treating her; only to be confirmed when she followed you to the bathroom
“WHAT THE HELL?!” she yelled, pushing into the bathroom and locking it behind you
“What are you doing?!” you yelled back quietly
“Why are you all of a sudden ignoring me? You’ve spent the entire night getting close to me and getting to know me and now you just decide, meh, no, I’m over it? Did you finally decide I was too boring for you? Oh, sweet little (Y/N), she’s too nice for what I’m looking for...”
“That’s not what’s going on...” you tried
“No?” she questioned, getting closer to you as she spoke, “then what is going on? Tell me, I wanna know”
“Auston,” you sighed, “he wants to... ask you out”
“So...” she huffed, “he can ask but I won’t say yes”
  “Why not?” you asked
“Because, I want you to ask me out, dummy,” she laughed, “I wouldn’t have followed you in here like a lunatic if I wasn’t interested in you!” You held your breath for a second as you took in what she said, closing the space between you quickly and pushing her against the wall, letting your lips move in sync with hers. Your heavy breathing filled up the space as you were forced to pull away from each other due to the sounds of drunken bar-goers banging on the door
“He can’t know about this...” you said, adjusting your shirt and fixing your hair, “Auston” you clarified.
“I know,” she replied, wiping away her smudged lipstick from your lips before looking in the mirror to adjust herself, “don’t worry. It’ll be our little secret.”
xx
1 Year Later
When you and Freddie started dating, you agreed to keep it a secret because it was so new that neither of you wanted to screw it up but, truly, it was a wonder that you and Freddie had never been caught, by anyone, much less by Auston with the way you two were constantly touching each other in the smallest of ways or flitting off to be alone together.
“Maybe he’ll be okay with it?” you asked between kisses, continuing the conversation you’d had with Fred about Auston earlier, “it’s been a year...”
“He won’t be okay with it,” Freddie chuckled, moving his lips to your neck to leave trails of kisses over your skin, “he talks about you every time he sees you, every time you leave the room” you groaned in reply, distracted by the feeling of his tongue against your skin.
“Why do you want to tell him so badly?” he asked, pulling away suddenly, his hands lightly on your hips, and scrunched his eyebrows together
“I hate sneaking around...” you admitted, “I love you, Fred, but I hate lying. We’ve all become so close and the more time that goes by, the more he’ll feel like we betrayed him”
“Is that what you think?” he asked and you nodded, pouting in response, “no matter when we tell him, he’ll think we betrayed him. Because I told him I wasn’t interested and then I lied; he asked you out, you declined, he still decided he’d try to get you to fall for him”
“So what do we do?” you sighed
“We keep doing what we’re doing,” he smiled, wrapping his arms around your waist, pulling you close to his chest, “don’t get caught.”
“What happens when we finally do get caught?” you questioned, cocking your eyebrow
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it...”
  “Freddie...”
“What do you want me to say?” he threw his head back, dropping his hands from your waist to run them through his hair, “that, in order to throw Auston off, you should go on a date with him?”
“What?” you scoffed, “you really think that would work?” you leaned in and whispered, seriously considering the option
“I wasn’t serious!” he exclaimed, raising your arms in annoyance
“I don’t want to use him,” you said, hopping down from the counter where you were, “but maybe if we go on a date and he realizes that we’re not.. compatible, then he’ll drop it and we’ll be able to be together. Honestly. Without hiding.”
“(Y/N), baby,” he smiled, “you don’t need to worry about using him. Or being compatible. He’ll find a way to make you compatible so he can use you”
“He’s not going to use me...” you scoffed
“Yes he is” he scoffed back
“I don’t think so” you teased
“Baby, you forget. I know him. He talks to me. He told me what he wanted from you the night we all met,” you confessed, “Plus, he’s charming... He’ll find a way to get exactly what he wants without you realizing he’s doing it”
“You’re charming,” you smiled, grabbing his waist and pulling him close to you so you could wrap your arms around his neck, “way more charming than him”
“You don’t know that. You haven’t been with him one-on-one...”
“Then maybe I should,” you teased slightly, curling his hair with your fingers, “you know, just to prove you wrong?”
“Fine” he said sternly, pulling away from you. “Let him ask you out. Let him do exactly what he wants with you. Just so he can say he had you ‘cause that’s all he wants.”
“Freddie,” you chuckled, “It’s not like I’m not going to sleep with him.”
“You better not” you placed your hand on his cheek so he would look at you, smiling when you saw his sad puppy dog eyes
“I love you” you whispered before he leaned down and kissed your lips
  “I love you, too.”
xx
Auston’s P.O.V
You had been asking out (Y/N) for months. You couldn’t understand why she would be hanging around so much if she wasn’t interested but you persisted and she actually agreed
“Really?” you said quietly and she nodded in response, scrunching her eyebrows together with a sympathetic smile, “I mean, great! I’ll pick you up... Friday at 8″
“Perfect, see you then” she smiled before hugging you goodbye and turning on her heels. You spent the rest of the week trying to prepare for the perfect date but you weren’t even sure what that looked like
“Just take her somewhere nice,” Freddie suggested as the two of you sat in your living room, playing NHL20, “I wouldn’t put too much pressure on it”
“I don’t think you understand Fred,” you laughed, “I have been trying to get this girl to go out with me for an entire year. I’ve never worked this hard just to hook up with someone before”
“Why are you working so hard? It’s not like you’re hoping anything comes of it right? You just want to hook up with her because of the way she danced with you one night a year ago...” he pried
“No,” you replied, “but I’ve never been with someone like her”
“Someone like her?” he repeated and you furrowed your brow
“A nice girl. A sweet girl. An innocent girl..”
“You're really hung up on her being innocent aren’t you?” he asked
“Wh-- do you know something I don’t?” you laughed, “just tell me where I should take her”
“I don’t know...” he sighed, dropping his face in his hands, “just go somewhere casual... somewhere you can wear jeans and a t-shirt”
“You seem annoyed.. why are you annoyed?”
“I’m not annoyed.. I just have a bit of a headache. Look, just take her somewhere low-key. You’re not trying to impress her so you don’t need to work this hard. That’s it” he replied, standing up and walking out as the screen lit up to tell you that you won and you celebrated loudly, unbothered by Freddie’s departure. When Friday finally came along, you took (Y/N) to an outdoor patio for some drinks since the weather was getting a little bit nicer before eventually heading over to Tilt to play some games. The two of you were having some friendly competition and laughing with each other
“I can’t believe it’s so late!” she exclaimed, noticing the time on the clock on the wall, “we’ve been playing games for almost four hours!”
“No no, hold on,” you smirked, “you’ve been playing games. I’ve been dominating at every turn!”
“Oh yeah sure, hot shot,” she smiled, smacking your arm playfully. “Seriously, I think we should probably get going...” she whispered and you thought that this was your chance but she flipped it on you, “I promised my Mom I’d meet up with her -- she’s going through something at work...”
“I’m sorry to hear that” you said, rubbing her arm softly before catching her eyes dancing across your face. It felt like a moment that begged for a kiss but when she turned her head away, you had to let it go, “I’ll drive you home.”
“Thanks” she smiled before walking ahead of you toward the exit of the arcade. The ride home was silent aside from (Y/N)’s phone going off every five minutes or so
“Everything okay?” you finally asked, not wanting to intrude
“Yeah, sorry...” she sighed, “it’s just my mom. Trying to figure out when we’re going to see each other”
“I can take you to her place, if that’s easier?” you said
“No,” she replied, placing her hand on your knee briefly before pulling it away, as if she caught herself flirting and had to stop herself, “no that’s okay. I told her we’d meet at mine so she could get out of her house, but thank you.” When you pulled up in front of her apartment building, (Y/N) smiled over at you, “thank you, again, I had fun tonight...”
“Let me walk you in” you insisted and she agreed. You walked her to her door and stood there silently. Maybe this was just a ruse, you thought to yourself, maybe she wanted you to follow her inside. You leaned in and she hesitated, taking a breath before her eyes opened wide and danced between yours, before she took a tiny step forward. There was something in the way she looked at you that made your mind go completely blank and your body take over, connecting your lips with hers and leading her against the wall by her door. You let your hands wander from her neck to her waist as the kiss began to heat up and you could feel her breathing increase, leaving her chest heaving when you moved to kiss her neck
“Auston...” she breathed, pressing her hands into your shoulders, “Auston...”
“Should we go inside?” you smiled to yourself before continuing to kiss behind her ear
“I think we should stop...” she confessed
“Come on..” you replied, “your mom isn’t really coming over is she?”
“I just can’t... don’t think we should do this” she said, stumbling over her own excuse
“You don’t have to act so innocent” you smiled, leaning back down to kiss her neck
“What?” she said, pushing you away from her so she could look at you, “I’m not trying to act innocent. I just think we should stop. We had fun tonight, it was a good date but it doesn’t need to end with sex...”
“If it was good, why wouldn’t you want it to continue?”
  “I--”
“Why would you lie?” you interrupted, starting to get angry
“Please don’t get angry...” she whispered, almost pouting at you, “I just didn’t want to give you the wrong idea when I said it was late. That’s all...” You huffed at her reasoning before shrugging and turning to walk back to your car, looking back at her as she took a deep breath and walked into her apartment.
xx
You were surprised at how much fun you were having. You expected Auston to take you to just invite you to his apartment so you could Netflix and Chill so he could make the move that Freddie was so convinced he was going to make, but when he took you to an arcade you were pleasantly surprised. The night was going really well, so when you noticed that it had gotten so late you realized you had to find a way to end the date but the only thing that came to your mind was to lie and say that your mom needed you. Auston seemed to be accepting of it and drove you home but Freddie kept texting you on the ride home and it started to raise flags to Auston
  “Everything okay?” he asked
“Yeah, sorry...” you sighed, “it’s just my... mom. Trying to figure out when we’re going to see each other” you lied, replying to Freddie’s frantic texts asking what was happening
“I can take you to her place, if that’s easier?” he asked
“No,” you said quickly, placing your hand on his knee involuntarily before pulling it away to not give the wrong impression, “no that’s okay. I told her we’d meet at mine so she could get out of her house, but thank you.” He finally pulled up in front of your apartment building and thanked him, “I had fun tonight...”
“Let me walk you in” he offered and you agreed, thinking it was sweet, but unsure of what to say as the two of you walked to your door. He seemed to be fine with the silence, so you kind of just followed his lead before finally getting to your door, smiling at him awkwardly as you both continued to stand in silence. You noticed him lean in and you took a quiet breath, hesitating before you noticed how much closer he had gotten to you; becoming almost a deer in headlights as your eyes flitted between his. You unwittingly took a tiny step forward and his hands moved to your neck before his lips crashed into yours as his body directed you against the wall. His hands snaked down to your waist and your breath began to build in your chest as you felt the kiss begin to heat up. You found yourself thinking about Freddie, knowing that he knew where you were and who you were with and what he believed Auston’s intentions to be; but you couldn’t help but fall into his slow kiss, dragging your hands up his arms until they rested on his shoulders. This wasn’t supposed to happen, you thought to yourself, the date was supposed to end like this, he was just supposed to walk you to your door and go...
“Auston...” you said through heaving breaths, “Auston...”
“Should we go inside?” you could hear him smiling before he continued to kiss your neck and you shook your head pathetically
“I think we should stop” you said, still breathing heavily and pushing your hands into his shoulders
“Come on,” he smirked again, looking at you quickly, “your mom isn’t really coming over is she?”
“I just can’t...“ you stumbled, “don’t think we should do this”
“You don’t have to act so innocent” he whispered as he leaned back to lay kisses on your neck
“What?” you said angrily, pushing him away from you so you could finally see his face, “I’m not trying to act innocent. I just think we should stop. We had fun tonight, it was a good date but it doesn’t need to end with sex...”
“If it was good, why wouldn’t you want it to continue?” he questioned
  “I--”
“Why would you lie?” he interrupted and you could tell he was starting to get angry
“Please don’t get angry...” you pleaded quietly “I just didn’t want to give you the wrong idea when I said it was late. That’s all...” He huffed at you before turning on his heel and walking away from you; you composed yourself to unlock your door and head inside.
“WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!” Freddie yelled as soon as you walked in the door
“Freddie?” you said, “what are you doing here?”
“I heard the two of you out there... kissing...” he admitted, “I knew he’d make his move”
“I don’t need this right now, please, just don’t” you sighed
“What’s wrong?” he replied, more sympathetic now as he followed you to the couch, kneeling in front of you to comfort you
“This was a mistake,” you admitted, “if we had just been honest with him, I wouldn’t have had to lie to him about all this. And he wouldn’t have made a move on me...”
“Baby,” he whispered, “this is my fault, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have agreed to letting you go out with him...”
“He was so mad, Fred. Like I could feel him seething” you sighed
“He’ll be fine,” Freddie said, “I’ll talk to him tomorrow, tell him the truth” you frowned at him, unsure if that was the right move, but you wrapped your arms around his neck as his wrapped around your waist. “I love you” he whispered in your ear before pushing the hair away from your face and kissing your eyelids gently, earning little giggles from you before you pecked his lips. It wasn’t long before he was drawing you close to him, your chest tight against his as he kissed your lips passionately
“I love you” you smiled when he pulled away from the kiss to remove his shirt, picking you up after he connected his lips back to yours, letting his tongue part your lips as your fingers played with his hair. He held you against the wall to remove your shirt, smiling at you biting your lip, leaning in to kiss you when the door flew open
“WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?” Auston yelled
“Auston” Freddie yelled in surprise, putting you down gently and you frantically tried to cover your bra-clad body
“What are you doing here?” you asked, trying to hide yourself behind Freddie
“Is this why you wouldn’t invite me in? You already had someone inside?” he snarled, “I can’t believe I was so gullible, you’re really not innocent at all!”
“HEY!” Freddie yelled, stepping closer to his teammate but managing to keep you covered, “that’s enough! You never saw her as a person, only as a conquest. Stop being a dick.” You could feel Freddie’s muscles tensing in his arm as you held onto him, preparing for what Auston would say next
“Me? I’m the dick?” he scoffed in return, “she’s the one who’s going through us like candy wrappers!”
“STOP IT!” your boyfriend continued to yell
“I get it, Fred,” Auston smirked, “I mean I finally get it. You wanted to have something before me, that’s why you kept telling me not to try to sleep with her. You wanted her first. I get it.”
  “Watch it” Freddie growled
“But now that you’ve had her, I think it’s time you drop the act. Let me have a turn...”
“ENOUGH!” you finally shouted, stepping out from behind Freddie, “you two are ridiculous. Auston, I’m sorry that I upset you but Freddie and I have been dating for almost a year now. I thought--”
“We thought” Freddie corrected, forcing you to look back at him
“We thought if I agreed to go on a date with you, you’d drop it and then we’d be able to come clean with you. But I didn’t expect you to kiss me...”
“You kissed me back!” he replied angrily
“I did,” you admitted, “I got caught up in the moment and I shouldn’t have but it doesn’t change anything. You don’t get to have a turn with me, I’m not a toy and you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking that way” you waited for either of them to speak, but they remained silent. “I think you should both go. You can fight it out if you want, just not here.”
“I’m sorry, (Y/N)” Freddie whispered and you squeezed his outstretched hand in reassurance
“Just tell me one thing,” Auston sighed, looking between the two of you, “is this real? I mean, are you sticking around or are you gonna wait until someone else comes along?” You looked at Freddie once, a smile creeping across your face
“I love him,” you confessed, still looking at the tall, ginger man behind you, “it’s real for me”
“It’s real for me, too,” he replied with his eyes locked on yours until he finally looked at Auston, “I love her. We love each other. You weren’t supposed to find out this way but we didn’t know how to tell you...”
“You’re sure?” Auston asked, “that you both feel the same way about each other?” you both nodded before Freddie wrapped his arms around your waist from behind you and kissed your temple. “Alright,” he sighed, dropping his head, “then I guess I’ll.. leave you to it” he forced a smile and walked out the door, leaving you feeling like you had to chase after him
“Auston, wait,” you called, “I really am sorry about all this”
  “I know” he said
“You really were trying to play me though weren’t you?”
“At first, yeah,” he laughed, “but somewhere along the way, I realized you were too sweet to be played. Maybe it was the outfit you picked or the makeup you wore or the way you looked at me... or the lie you told...” he smirked when he remembered what you told him. “I don’t know what did it but I lost my nerve”
“You didn’t lose your nerve when you decided to kiss me” you teased
“Sure I did,” he scoffed, “because when I was kissing you it became about feeling you close to me and not... trying to get in your pants” you smiled at his words, feeling a tinge of heat rush through your body to your cheeks as if you were embarrassed
“For what it’s worth,” you finally said, “if you take a girl you actually like, not one you’re just trying to mess around with, on a date like tonight -- she’d be lucky to have you” he smiled tightly, his lips pressed together as if he didn’t really believe it, and continued making his way down the hallway. You hoped this wouldn’t cause problems between Fred and Auston but you were just happy the secret was finally out.

Falling For You - Part 1
Tumblr media
Pairing- Dean x Lisa(past),  Female!Reader x OMC Justin(past), Eventual Dean x Female!Reader
Word Count-3019
Warning- Mentions of cheating, slight angst. This is going to be a bit of a slow burn.
A/N- I had an idea for a one shot, and giving a backstory to Dean and the Reader meeting took on a life of its own. This story is AU, and un beta’d.
Summary- After being burned before you had sworn off finding love for now. Coming home from work one night there is a strange man pounding on your door.  Neither of you knew what this meeting would lead to.
Series Masterlist
It had been a long day at work and you just wanted to get home to your couch, although you knew that would have to wait.  The apartment needed some cleaning, and you needed to wash laundry too. You had put it off, work keeping you busier than usual the last 2 weeks, and you really should go hit the gym.  You had been slacking there too.
The elevator was being inspected when you walked in the building so you had taken the stairs  Reaching your floor you were surprised to find a man standing in front of your door continuously knocking.  Slowing walking over you looked around, no one else seemed to be near.  Knowing the time, your neighbor across the hall, Jess was probably on her way home from work, you weren’t completely certain about her fiancé though.  The other two apartments on this level kept to themselves.
“Hi, Can I help you?”  You cautiously asked.
“Nope.”
“Are you sure?”
The greenest eyes you had ever seen turned to look at you with a grin forming. “Thanks, but I’m just waiting for my brother to let me in, unless you want to give me your number for later?”
Tumblr media
“I’m good thanks, but why is your brother letting you in there?”  You didn’t get any danger vibes from this guy, so you weren’t too worried about standing here talking to him yet.
“Well miss nosey, it’s because he lives there.”
“I don’t think he does.”
“Really, and how would you know anything?”  The man back to pounding on your door.
Before you could respond Jess’ fiancé Sam came running up the steps sweaty from his evening jog.
“Dude, you weren’t supposed to be here till tomorrow, and why are you blocking Y/N’s door?”  Sam unlocked his door across from you and went to hug his brother.
The man backed away from him, “Seriously man? You’re sweaty and gross, shower first. I needed to get out of there, and traffic on the way up was pretty light.  You told me you and Jess were 44.”
“No Dean, I told you we were 43. We live on the fourth floor in the third apartment number 43.  You weren’t listening,”  Sam turned to you still unable to get into your apartment.  “Sorry Y/N, this is my older brother Dean.  He just got up here from Kansas, he’s staying with us for a little while.  I’ll get him out of your way,”  He leaned down to grab one of Dean’s bags before heading into his apartment.
Dean turned to look at you then looking at your door before he leaned down to pick up the other bag. “Oops!”  With that he headed into the open apartment and shut the door.  Shaking your head you went to unlock your own door.
Heading to your bedroom after setting your things down,  you figured if you didn't get your workout done first it wasn’t going to happen.  Quickly changing you grabbed some laundry and went to throw a  load in the washer so the first load would be done when your workout was finished.  Very thankful to have a washer and dryer in your apartment.  Grabbing your key you headed the gym on the ground floor.  An hour on the bike left you feeling a little better, getting out some of your frustrations.
Back inside your apartment you changed the laundry and started on your dusting and window washing before vacuuming.  Finally finished, you headed for a shower to clean off the dirt and sweat.
All clean you ventured to the kitchen to see what you could whip up for dinner. When a knock at your door pulled you away.  Who could be here now you wondered.
Opening the door you came face to face with Mr green eyes again.  Shoot, what did Sam say his name was.
“Your brother still lives across the hall.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry about that.  I swear Sammy told me it was 44.  I just wanted to come say I was sorry for bothering you earlier.  I know the right place now.”
“It’s fine.  Have a nice visit.”
“Thanks it’s not really a visit.  I’m Dean, like he said, I’m his older brother.”
“Y/N, the neighbor.  Nice to meet you Dean.”  Holding out your hand to Dean his bigger hand engulfed it in a firm shake.
“Would you let me take you out for a bite to apologize for my first impression?”
“I don’t know if that’s a good…”
“It’s not a date,”  He hurriedly cut in.  “It’s just, I mean, you seem like a nice person, and you would probably be a great date, but it’s not.  It will just be food I swear.  Tomorrow afternoon, or night?  I don’t know if you have big Saturday plans?”
“Shouldn’t you be spending time with your brother?”
“He has a work dinner with Jess they can’t miss.”
You thought about it for a moment.  You had been friends with Sam and Jess a little while now and trusted them, so you should be able to trust his brother.  “I’m supposed to go dress shopping with my friend Meg, tomorrow.  We should be done by 6 if you really want to grab some dinner.”
“Sounds good, sweetheart, I’ll knock on your door again then.”
“Okay, goodnight Dean.  Oh and welcome to Michigan.”  Shaking your head you shut the door to go back to your search for tonight’s dinner.
The fridge was pretty empty, you didn’t even have any frozen microwaveable meals left.  Looks like grocery shopping just became part of your weekend plans.  Settling on a bag of popcorn, it is a vegetable of sorts, somehow right?  You finally headed for the couch and turned on the Hallmark Channel to see if there was a movie you could get lost in for the rest of the evening.  Before you know it, it was time for bed so you could get an early start on tomorrow.
It was an honor to be asked to be the Maid of Honor, right?  You needed to keep reminding yourself of this as you wandered through the dress shop the next day with Meg.  Meg was a friend from elementary school and sometimes you think you are the MoH because many others would not have been able to handle this process with her.  She could be a little blunt and rude, but you were used to this and could take the wedding craziness coming from her.  5 hours and two shops later she finally found the perfect dress for herself.  You couldn’t be happier since you had already spent two other Saturday’s out searching.
Her fiancé Cas, thankfully had the patience of an angel.  They had met when Meg left for college in Kansas, he was a year older than her.  After graduation he had followed her back up here. Six years later, Cas finally got her to say ‘yes’. She seemed to be a better person with him around, a little kinder.  They would be good for each other and you were very happy for them.
Your love life on the other hand, was not so lucky.  Two months ago, you had broken up with your only serious boyfriend.  A night out with friends had ended in tears when trying out the new bar in town.  You had turned around in time to see a flash of Justin in a corner booth, walking over you found him lip locked with another woman.  You stood there shocked for a moment when the woman noticed you staring and commented on it.  A look of shock on Justin’s face as he quickly moved away from her and tried to explain  The rest of your drink ended up on him as you walked out of the bar.  Meg having seen the whole thing took you home and kept your now ex out when he came over to try and talk to you.  The guys you had been out with before him, hadn’t done much for your faith in men either, having made the choice to give up dating for now.  You were two years away from thirty, and had always thought by now you would have settled down.  Maybe that wasn’t in the cards for you.
It was only a little after three so you decided to stop at the grocery store on the way home, this way you wouldn’t need to run out tomorrow.  You would be able to just enjoy a day at home.  Arriving home you pulled into your assigned spot and went to empty your car, you were one of those people who tried to carry everything in one trip.  At least the elevator passed yesterday’s inspection and was running today, or it would be a challenge carrying everything at once up 4 flights of stairs.  Although you couldn’t open your door with your hands full and keys in your pocket.  Freeing a hand you finally worked it open as the door opened behind you.
“Need a hand?”  Turning around Dean was standing in the doorway leading to the opposite apartment.
“You don’t have to, half the challenge was getting it up here.”
“I know I don’t have to,”  As he finished talking Dean leaned down to pick up the discarded bags.  “Dinner for tonight or are we still good to go?”
“Still good to go, I just had an empty fridge and decided to hit the store today and enjoy tomorrow.”
Dean set the bags on the counter and started to unpack them.  Looking at the various items he turned to you holding up molasses and baking soda, “These aren’t your typical dinner items.”
“No, this is me getting a head start on what I need for Christmas baking. I know it’s the start of October, but December comes quick, and I like to have my baking done for my family’s Christmas party the first weekend of December.”
“You bake?”
“Yes, I actually really enjoy it.”
“So what all do you make cookies, cakes, pies maybe?”
Laughing at the hopeful look in his eye at the last item you nodded your head.  “Yes, those plus bars, and different candies.  Christmas I do the most, although not usually pie for that.  Different holidays or events vary, or when I’m in a funk and just want to get lost in my kitchen.”
“Ever need a pie tester, I’ll gladly volunteer.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”  The groceries unloaded Dean looked around before heading out saying he would be back at six.  Glancing at the clock you saw it was almost five and decided to hop in the shower to get cleaned up.
There was a knock on your door right at six, dressed casually in jeans, a sweater and tall black heeled boots you opened it to see Dean smiling at you. Also having gone casual with jeans and a dark green henley. “Ready to go, Y/N?”
“Yep, all set.  So where are we going Mr. Winchester?”  Dean turned, giving you a funny look, as you got into the elevator “What?”
“How do you know my last name? Been looking into me?”
“You’re Sam’s brother, right?  I kinda thought they would be the same.”
“Oh, yeah, true.  As for our destination, I thought I’d surprise you.”
You screwed up your face but just nodded.  You didn’t want to come across as rude to whatever he was thinking.  Getting in the car he turned to look at you, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”  There wasn’t much you hated more than surprises.
“Your face said otherwise a minute ago.”
“I was just thinking about something else, all good here,”  You gave him a smile before looking out the window.
A short while later you pulled up outside a bar you hadn’t been to in a few months. Quietly getting out of the car you followed Dean inside.  “Sam told me about this place, he said it was fairly new, but the food is good.  Have you been here yet?”
“Once, but I wasn’t here long enough to eat.”  It was early enough still it wasn’t too busy yet, Dean heading over to a booth asking if that was alright.  You agreed and sat across from him. After ordering drinks and food it was a little awkward between the two of you.  This wasn’t a date, what was it.  You didn’t know the man so it wasn’t even friends hanging out.  Not wanting to sit in silence any longer you decided to break it.
“How long are you visiting for?”
“I’m working on moving up here actually, I’m staying with Sam and Jess while I look for a place and find some work.  Then I’ll head back to Lawrence with Sam and we’re going to drive my stuff back.”
“Oh wow, like the mitten state that much huh?”
Dean was quiet for a moment before answering,  it almost seemed like he was having an internal battle on how to respond.  “I needed a change and my brother and best friend both moved up here. Sam and I were pretty close growing up, and it would be nice to be near him again.  My parents are still in Kansas but have talked about moving for a while.  I can see them heading up here if Sam and Jess are here, especially if they end up having kids. I guess I’m going before I get left behind.”  There was a sadness in his eyes that told you something was missing from his story.
“What kind of work are you looking for?”
“I actually was in business with my dad before I left.  Owned an auto repair shop and we specialized in classic car restorations.  Dad’s keeping the shop, but I’m guessing he’ll retire in a year or two and sell it.   Going to see if anyone around here is hiring for now. How about you, what is it that you do?”
“Oh, I work at a physical therapy clinic in the business office.  It’s usually a nice 9-5 job, but we had someone leave unexpectedly in the front office so I’ve been filling in for her and trying to do my work too.  Makes for some later days.  Someone new is starting next week so once they are trained it should calm down again.”
Dean was watching you and noticed you were doing your best to avoid looking around the bar, your focus either him or the table.  “Is there someone you don’t want to see you here?  A boyfriend I should worry about coming to beat me up?  What’s up?”
“No, nothing like that.”  Taking a deep breath you look up at Dean, “This place doesn't have great memories for me.  The one time I was here I caught my then boyfriend making out with someone else.  It was definitely a surprise, I wasn’t a fan of surprises before, but that was one of the worst I could have.”
“I’m sorry, I guess I should have checked the place with you first.”
Reaching across the table you put your hand on top of Dean’s, “No it’s okay.  I really should just get over it anyways.  It’s stupid on my part, right?”
“Not at all Sweetheart,”  Dean turns his hand over giving yours a squeeze.  “I understand to well how much that stings.”  Letting out a deep breath he continues, “I had been dating this girl for over a year.  Thought she was it ya know.  I came home from work early to surprise her one day and found her in our bed with another guy.”
Tumblr media
“Oh Dean, I am so sorry!”
He gave you a little smile before continuing, “It was my house. I kicked her out and put it up for sale, packed up my stuff and ended up storing it at my parents while I was staying in my childhood bedroom.  I just couldn’t stay there.  Got lucky it sold in a few months. I would see the two of them all around town and needed to get out of there.  Sammy, and my childhood best friend, Cas like it up here so I decided to give it a shot”
“Wait, Cas?  Is he engaged to Meg?”
“Uh, yeah why?”
“She’s my best friend, I’m her maid of honor.  I’ve met Cas, he’s a great guy.”
“Yeah, she’s good for him.  Takes him out of his comfort zone.  Good for them, me on the other hand.  I don’t see myself dating anytime soon.”
“Me either, I don’t have the best luck with relationships. I’m sorry for what you went though, you didn’t deserve that.”
“Neither did you.” You both sat there taking in what the other had said.
Dean spoke first,  “I wouldn’t mind making a new friend though.  Especially if she needs any taste testing when baking.”
Laughing before leaning back against the booth more relaxed than you had been, “I think new friends are good.”
Deciding it was time to lighten the subject you asked him another question.  “So what brought Sam up here?  I know Jess was from Indiana, not here either.”
“After law school Sam had been offered a position in a big firm in Ann Arbor, which I guess is like  30-40 minutes from here.  Jess didn't want to live in the bigger city, she wanted to be in a little smaller town if they could.  She said they did big city living in California during college and could visit Ann Arbor, or Chicago from here.  Sam liked the idea of that too.  I think they are both thinking of where they want to raise kids eventually”
“This is a good town to grow up in, I did.  Why they moved here never came up in conversation. I’ve hung out with her and Meg before, and neither mentioned Sam and Cas were from the same town.”
The two of you spent the rest of the night talking and laughing more at ease knowing where the other stood. It was after 11 when Dean pulled back into the apartment parking lot.  This had been one of the best nights you had had in awhile.

If the World Was Ending
WARNING: BITTERSWEET VIBES
A/N: this isn’t as angsty as I thought it would be it’s kinda bittersweet I guess? also this isn’t exactly what I had in mind for a fic, but it’s a good starter I guess to the fic I want to write?
Tumblr media
**Listen to If the World Was Ending by JP Saxe while you read this.
You were distracted.
And in traffic.
You didn’t feel it when the earthquake happened. But it really got you thinking, was she out drinking? Was she in the living room, chilling watching television?
It had been a year now, and you think you’d finally figured out how to let her go and let the communication die out. You both knew she wasn’t down for forever and that’s fine. You both knew you weren’t meant for each other and that’s fine.
But if the world was ending she'd come over right? She’d come over and she’d stay the night? Would she love you for the hell of it? All your fears would be irrelevant.
If the world was ending she’d come over right?
Natasha tried to imagine your reaction. It didn’t scare her when the earthquake happened, but it really got her thinking. That night you both went drinking, stumbling into the house- you never made it past the kitchen. It had been a year now, and she’d finally figured out how to think about you without it ripping her heart out.
She knew you weren’t down for forever and that’s fine. She knew you both weren’t meant for each other and that’s fine.
But if the world was ending you’d come over right? You’d come over and you’d stay the night? Would you love her for the hell of it? All your fears would be irrelevant.
If the world was ending you’d come over right?
Well, the world was ending.
Neither you nor her were Avengers any longer, and you couldn’t help in creating a solution. There was nothing you could do.
If the world was ending she’d come over right?
If the world was ending you’d come over right?
You sat on your couch, longer than you should have, staring at the door. No knock ever came. Every moment you stayed longer, you thought about running to her. Little did you know Natasha was doing the same.
Eventually you couldn’t take it anymore. Grabbing your jacket you raced from your apartment towards hers.
Knocking on the door, it flung open seconds later, Natasha pulling you in. Your lips were on hers as her fingers worked nimbly to pull your jacket off of you. Hands roamed over each other’s bodies in familiar ways. It was in every way as bitter as it was sweet.
Because if the world was ending you’d come over, that’s right. You'd come over and you’d stay the night. You would love her for the hell of it.

Fairytale Complex - [Undertale | Sans x Reader]
[Gender Neutral, Frisk's Parent Reader | Slow Burn]
Chapter Three | sans. (Part 1 of 3)
[First] | [Previous] | [Next]
meet me by the train station.
the place's bustlin' and tori's here with me, just in case you're worried 'bout meeting a stranger all alone.
That's surprisingly thoughtful.
And I'm guessing Tori means Toriel?
The goat lady who looked after Frisk?
yup.
she's gotta go deal with some legal stuff 'bout us living on the surface, so she can't stay for long.
but she'll still be here by the time you get there.
Hmm…
Now that just makes me more suspicious of you.
Tell me why it's important that only you specifically want to talk to me about this?
Doesn't Toriel know about what happened down there, too?
yeah, but…
i need to talk to you about somethin' else.
stuff that'll probably be a lil' difficult for me to explain, but that you should still know, being frisk's parent and all.
Now I'm curious.
I'm stuck in some traffic, but I should be there soon.
Would it still be okay with Toriel if I get there in the next ten to fifteen minutes?
textin' while drivin'?
My aunt chose to drive me here.
'Cuz she also said she doesn't trust the whole situation much.
heh.
alright.
tori says it's fine. she doesn't need to leave in the next hour so…
see ya soon, (l/n).
See you soon, mister Serif.
"How's he gonna know who you are if only you have a picture of him?" you aunt asks, eyes locked on the road. Her bright red nails, just as flashy as the rest of her outfit, glisten under the sun, fantasy jewellery and wrist watch doing the same. Her tanned skin almost glows with health in comparison to yours, yet to be healed from the past two months of tension and wait. There's also her signature and almost hair salon professional level of cleanliness when it came to grooming her hair, making her overall, outer appearance far more different and striking when compared to you.
"(Mom/Dad)'s all over the news now!" Frisk says, answering her question before you can even word your thoughts out in mind, too busy noticing how much you've let yourself go in so short of a time.
You plug your phone to the car charger and meet with the side view of your aunt's face. "Like Frisk said. The guy I'm meeting says my face's been thrown out on the news a lot lately, so he already knows what I look like." You pull down the mirror and take a quick look at yourself, eye bags and stress acne now partially covered with a cheap, (s/t) foundation and expression made to look less tired thanks to a full eight hours of sleep. Still, you're far from looking anywhere near to the days before Frisk's disappearance or all the pictures displayed on the news, these from a similar time. All the stress and constant sorrow was still present on most of your features, from something as subtle as the loss of brightness in your eyes to something as noticeable as the drag in your walk and the small slump in your posture.
"Do I look okay, auntie?" you ask, taking advantage of a stop sign.
Brenda spares a quick but meaningful glance at you and a small smile manages to show on her face. She stays quiet even as her eyes go back to facing the road. At a second stop, this one caused by a red light, she looks at you again, saying, "Why are you so concerned about that, dear? I get wanting to look well and dignified for meeting new people, but this is the third time you've asked me today." She giggles when Frisk does, both apparently sharing the same thought. "You look fine, by the way. Though a bit of rest could do you good." The light changes and she carries on driving, slowing down and turning on the signal when she sees the train station to her left. "How many hours do you work, by the way? If you're still working overtime, you should stop that now. Not only for my dear grandchild's sake, but for you to get your long overdue beauty sleep."
"...Sixty hours a week?" you mutter, already anticipating a dramatic reaction from her. Even Frisk seems to notice your answer's not favourable enough to her, so they brace themselves by grabbing on to their seatbelt and pretending they're not paying attention to the conversation anymore.
Staying true to herself, Brenda almost slams the brakes just as she's halfway into parallel parking and snaps her gaze over to you, eyes wide and mouth agape. "What?!"
"Sixty a week," you repeat, louder now. "I had to get my mind off Frisk going missing somehow, so I... took that chance to save up some more by working overtime."
"That's fifteen hours too much, dear." She frowns. "That's either twelve hours a day for five days a week, or working non-stop every day for at least eight to nine hours! No wonder you look so stressed. What about your friends? Your family? Your coworkers?" She seems to notice why you've lowered your voice and does that herself, reminded over Frisk's presence at the back seats. "Oh, honey…" She sighs. "Did you really just work, eat, and sleep those two months they were gone?"
"...Maybe," you reply, looking away from her. "I just didn't know what else to do, and having free time for myself made me feel more guilty about it. The only time I sat down was to watch some TV for when I couldn't sleep at night."
Your aunt finishes parking and lets out another sigh. A gentler look crosses her eyes and she gives in, letting her body relax. "Do you have enough to get by? Please, be honest with me so I can help you out. Alright?"
You smile back at her and nod. "I have enough now. I'm pretty sure I can get by with a regular schedule again."
"With weekends off?"
"With weekends off."
Her smile grows and she unlocks the car, allowing you to step out. "Be careful out there, alright? Just make sure to call me and I'll head back here straight away if anything strange comes up."
"Thank you, auntie. So I'll pick up Frisk at five?"
"Oh, there's no rush. You can always stay the night, anyway!"
After a nod, you get down from the car, open the back door, and climb onto the empty seat left next to Frisk.
"See you later, dear."
You kiss their cheek and look at the phone resting in their hands. There were plenty of questions you wanted to ask them, such as who was Alphys and how she'd gained enough knowledge to develop something with that level of technology, and why it still worked up here despite being programmed to function at the Underground. You remind yourself of the people waiting for you at the train station and wrestle those curiosities down, setting all questions aside for later. "Be good, okay?"
They nod, sign a "Love you!" with their hand, and hold you back to give you a yellow sticky note, folded in two. "Give this to him. And don't forget he can be unexpected sometimes!"
You sign an "I love you, too" back to them, take the note, and step out of the car, waving at them and your aunt before closing the door and pocketing the note away. It stays unread, and while you'd like to know what's written on it as well as the reasons for Frisk warning you about meeting with that monster in particular, they'd specified it was for more sillier reasons, like that of meeting up with a stand up comedian, or more frankly put: a clown or a court jester.
Now alone, you take out your phone and check the messages, a new one from 'Mister Serif' showing up.
hey, uh…
tori hadda go.
an emergency happened, so now she's gotta rush off to the department to see what's up with some documents she turned in.
i know this seems sus as hell, so just wait for me at a more open area, alright?
stick to anybody you're comfortable with and we'll meet there.
I'm honestly touched at how much you're worried about this.
Though all that just makes me think I'm being catfished even more now.
Are you for real, mister Serif?
Can someone be as observant and thoughtful as you appear to be?
see for yourself.

You can't avoid being taken aback when the monster sends you a picture of himself. It's a definite recent one, given he's sitting by a bench close to the train tracks. He holds up a shaka sign with one hand and a coffee cup on the other. A grin decorates his face and the bright lighting shows the picture was taken just now, sun rays piercing through the windows.
I'm somewhat convinced.
need more proof?
Who are you, my Cinder match?
if u wanna.
Oh God.
You're killing me.
inna good way?
Perhaps.
You stop yourself when you realize you're on the verge of flirting with someone you haven't even met in person yet, let alone introduce yourself properly to. The picture he'd sent doesn't help either, as you can only begin to question yourself and your morals over having found him attractive for a split second. While it could have just as easily been the surprise of him sending a picture out of nowhere, it could've also been how laid-back he seemed in that picture, striking a shaka sign that made him look just like a surfer dude and a coffee cup to contrast with that vibe, adding a spark of the typical college student you saw at campus, his hoodie and sneakers only adding to that feeling.
It's then that you realize something's off.
If he was holding a cup with one hand and a sign in the other…
Then who took the picture?
Though you're pretty sure you're overthinking the situation now, you're still better safe than sorry and take advantage of your recent fooling around with him to pass that worry off as a joke.
Wait a minute, mister Serif.
yeah?
If you're holding a cup with one hand and striking a pose with the other, then who took the picture?
Or did you use your magic for that?
a random dude who looked trustworthy enough took it for me.
he's one of those guys who're totally ok with us living here at the surface, so he just snapped the picture for me and even asked if it was for a date i was gonna meet and all.
no magic needed.
And I'm the President of the United States.
But, seriously now…
Are you for real?
yeah.

The picture displays him with a bearded, brown skinned man clad in a suit and holding a suitcase, looking ready for work. Still, his smile shows little to no seriousness and instead displays youth and content over having his picture taken with a potential friend. His height surpasses the monster's by half a foot, though when you compare it to the rest of the people in the background, it's clear Serif is simply shorter compared to the average human. You try not to let your eyes linger too much on the monster when you're done looking at the man, not wanting to fall into the trap of your mind having found him attractive earlier ago. Still, you can't help yourself and take a more thorough look at him again, seeing him now with his eye sockets closed, almost mimicking a pair of eyelids squinting in joy. His arm's hung over the man's shoulders, and vice-versa.
i made a new pal.
"meet up already!" - his words, not mine.
Trying to be smooth, huh?
maybe.
is it working?
Somewhat.
But...
Strange Cinder date vibes aside,
I'm almost there.
aight.
can't wait to meet ya, bud.
You slip the phone back in your pocket and go up the stairs of the train station, stopping when you make it to the line of benches close to the tracks. True to his word, the skeleton sits on one of them and the man who'd taken a picture with him is now waving at him, seemingly saying his goodbyes and headed off to work. You approach the station one careful step after the other, pace slowing down more and more as you feel a sudden awkwardness slip on your shoulders.
Your texts sent off vibes you didn't want present now that you were about to meet him in person. You were still worried about what happened with Frisk a few days ago, and how their happiness pretty much froze when being asked if the monsters had treated them well during their time at the Underground. The one you were about to meet could very well be one of those who'd hurt them, so you brace yourself and try not to be swayed by the softer atmosphere present during your texting with him. You acknowledge the man who'd taken his picture with a wave and a smile back at him. Then, you continue walking and finally approach the bench.
"It's nice to meet you, mister Serif." You acknowledge him with a wave, unsure of how friendly you can be with him.
"Likewise, pal." He holds a hand out to you, bringing forth the warning Frisk had given to you about him.
Out of all the things Frisk had warned you about, it was to be careful around the skeleton, but primarily due to how he seemed to be the type to joke around and prank people often. One thing in particular you were warned about was in shaking hands with him, so right as he offers his hand out to you and just as you're about to reach out, you miss his hand, take a step closer, and pull him along for a hug instead. You then unfold the sticky note and press it against his back with enough pressure for him to feel it and let go when you're done.
"Frisk warned me about you, and even though they haven't told me anything I should be worrying about yet, I do know I should be careful for other reasons. And they told me to give that note to you, by the way."
You sit down and watch as the monster attempts to get the sticky note unstuck, his short height proving to be a disadvantage, as it also comes with shorter arms. He goes as far as to use his magic to get it out, leaving you to bite back a smile and wonder if you've been too rude with him just now. Still, you wait and keep your eyes on the train tracks while he reads the note you've left for him.
"Not gonna say anything about it?" you ask, surprised to hear nothing from him even as he slips the note in his pocket.
"Patience, pal," he replies, words followed with a chuckle and continued with a wink. "Just take it as some friendly payback on my part -- Now we're even." He sits back down and meets with your eyes, his expression changing from humoured to stern at the drop of a hat. "So, what you're sayin' here is the kid hasn't said much about me yet?"
"No," you reply, hesitating. You fight between keeping a smile and a frown. "They've been awfully quiet after I asked them if there were any people down there who treated them badly." You catch yourself becoming emotional, so you breathe and blink a few times to fight that back. "It...  It feels like they shut themselves away from me, and now I'm not too sure about how to approach the situation anymore." You stop to catch your breath again, feeling yourself grow anxious already. "They can talk non-stop when it's about all the good things Toriel, Alphys, Papyrus, and… And even what you did for them, but whenever I ask if there was anything that made them feel unsafe, they… They bottle up and run off to do whatever chore there's left to do around the house."
A gust of wind helps freshen up your burning face, product of a train stopping nearby. You wait for him to speak up, body tensed all the while.
"Y'know, I…" The monster sighs, faces down, and rubs the back of his neck, looking lost in thought. "I think I can answer that for ya, but it's gonna be a bit of a long story." He glances at his phone for a moment, seemingly to check the time, and later adds, "Wanna head out somewhere to eat? We can talk about it there over food and drinks. Better than talkin' on an empty stomach, don't you think?"
Despite how somber the mood's become, that trademark grin of his you've already grown used to seems to stand out a lot more now, bringing forth a genuine, welcoming expression in addition to the offer he'd made to you. "Sure," you reply, smile returning. "And... Sorry for dumping all that on you all of a sudden."
You both stand up and make your way out of the station, walking side by side as you continue with the conversation.
"It's cool, pal," he says. "I'd be a lot more worried if you didn't worry about it."

So... Long story short: there'll be a double update next week in order to post Parts 2 and 3!
Expect the same thing for whenever a chapter exceeds that limit. :-)

Can I get #20 sfw with bokuto please? And can you make it a kind of angst to fluff thing? Oh, and with pronouns she/her. Please
Tumblr media
prompt: rule number seventeen, no dating in the friend group, remember?
word count: 2.7k
genre + warnings: angst to fluffy ending; swearing, thas ab it
pronouns used: she/her
a/n: i went a TAD bit over board
The rulebook, the bible, the whatever cult ritual book. It's something you and your best friend had made when you two first got into junior high. It was a glorified bro-code if you will. The two of you followed the rules religiously.
Rule one, the "bros before hoes" rule. If Bokuto dated a girl who gave him an ultimatum to pick between the two of you, you'll always be first choice. The same goes vice versa.
Some rules were kind of pointless, but you two loved following them. Like rule fourteen, the "shotgun" rule, similar to how people call shotgun in cars. If one of you called "parent trap," the two of you had to switch whatever intended. Whether it be switch seats, food, or even who's driving, you'd have to switch. Though you'd only be aloud to switch once a week.
The rulebook was a fun friendship bonding activity. Though there was one issue, you began to fall for your best friend. It was stupid rule seventeen that got you. You had to keep your cool about how you felt.
You had your head resting on your forearm on the table. You and Akaashi sat across from each other as Kuroo and Bokuto played video games on the table. Akaashi was working on a paper while you played with a pen.
All day you had your mind on Bokuto. It was hard to keep your mouth shut on how much you liked him. How you wanted to just grab his face and kiss it. How you want to hold him close when you fall asleep. How you just want to hold his hand everywhere you went.
"Oi, did Y/n die on the table?" Kuroo says, pointing out how zoned out you were.
"She's overthinking," Akaashi doesn't look up from his laptop to say.
"What are you thinkin' about?" Bokuto asks.
"A boy," You say simply. "How no guy would date me."
"Hey, don't say that," Kuroo says. "There's plenty of guys who'd date you."
"Sure, a guy would date a girl who has three guy best friends," You say sarcastically.
"Well, your personality is great, right guys?" He responds.
"Definitely," Akaashi closes his laptop to pay attention to you.
"Well yeah, but I'd never date you or someone like you," Bokuto didn't bother looking away from the game. A sharp ache hits your chest hearing those words. You move your face to hide your lips and you shut your eyes.
"Bo!" Kuroo punches his arm.
"What?" Bokuto says. "I don't like her like that. Plus, it's unlawful."
"The fuck you mean by unlawful?" Kuroo raised his eyebrow.
"I mean I don't necessarily like her more than a friend. I don't want to date someone exactly like her, it'd be weird," Bokuto pauses the game. "Also, rule number seventeen, no dating in the friend group, remember? No broken hearts, no ruined besties?"
Rule seventeen, "no broken hearts" also known as no dating in the friend group. This only really applies to you dating one of the boys but you still had it to avoid any unrequited feelings for someone. The rule was made to ensure no broken hearts take over the group's vibe.
"He's not wrong," You mumbled. "I'm tired. I'm gonna go home." You stood up to leave.
"Wait, let me walk you home, it's late," Bokuto offered. You didn't respond other than leaving without saying goodbye to the boys. "Y/n- Wait for me-"
You picked up the pace outside as you walked away from Bokuto's place. You kept your hands in your pocket as you walked. It was a busy night in Tokyo, you could hear the traffic and trains. The silence from walking alone was killing you.
The words Bokuto said rang in your ear. You were right about how he would've reacted but you never thought it'd be so harsh. What was so bad about you that he didn't want any romantic connection to you? You couldn't help but feel worse about your feelings. They're useless now that you know he doesn't like you.
Since the day Bokuto revealed he didn't like you, you had to remind yourself that you can't like him anymore. That the built-up admirations for him meant nothing.
Bokuto won a game against a school in the prelims. He looked so good playing and you wanted to go up and hug him like you always do. He doesn't like you, you're doing too much.
He needs help studying for an upcoming exam. You would've offered to help and end up playing video games afterward or late night food runs. He doesn't like you, Akaashi can help him study.
He asks if you want to go get some food after practice. You would've said yes so you could spend time with him like normal. He doesn't like you, turn down his offer and lie.
There was one thing that caught his attention. In the middle of the group spending time together, Bokuto was talking to you guys about a girl he might go out with. "The only problem is she said that if I date her, I can't talk to Y/n," Bokuto says.
"Do you really like her Bo?" Akaashi asks.
"Yeah, she makes me happy," Bokuto scrolled through the girl's social media to show Akaashi. To keep yourself from crying, you chose not to look at his phone.
"If you like her, then it's alright," You say without looking up from your homework.
"Y/n, what did you just say?" Bokuto says.
"If you like her a lot and you know she'll make you happy, go for it. I've been busy enough with work, I haven't been able to hang with you guys as much. I think it'll be alright," You sighed.
"Y/n," Akaashi says sympathetically.
"Don't say that," Bokuto says. "Rule one, dude!"
"Rule twenty," You smiled. You closed your book before leaving the library. The boys were stunned as you left. Bokuto stood up to stop you but Kuroo grabbed his arm.
Rule twenty, "4U" or the sacrifice rule. The final verse of the rulebook. Only use it when you know it's necessary. If you know it'll guarantee happiness for the other, you must sacrifice that one thing for them. This rule overrides all previous rules.
In this case, you gave up your friendship for Bokuto's love life. You knew the pain it'd cost you, but you also knew this would make him happy. A different girl in his life, a better girl.
What would've been worse, letting the man you love lose a girl he's falling for or let him go to make him happier? You couldn't believe what you did. So much so that you cried on the train ride home as well as the walk. You hid your sobs by putting on a face mask and put up your hood.
That night, you received multiple calls from the group. Bokuto called and texted you the most. You put your phone on silent as you finished your homework. You crawled into bed to see the missed notifications.

You sighed and locked your phone. You tried your hardest to sleep away the pain but you want to just scream. There was no stopping your tears, so you let out all the hurt and let yourself go. Your eyes grew puffy and you were running out of tissues.
A small knock on your door disrupted your thoughts. You wipe away your tears and walked over to the door. You open it to find Kuroo standing before you. "Figured you didn't want to see us," He said. "Why do you have the lights off?"
"Because," You sniffled. Kuroo flicked on the lights to reveal your tear-stained cheeks and your stuffy nose.
"Holy shit- Y/n, why on Earth are you crying?" He puts his hands on your shoulders and tries to get you to look at him.
"Bokuto," You say softly. Your voice shuddered at the sound of his name. "I liked him a lot. More than a friend."
"Y/n-" He didn't want to interrupt you.
"Bokuto made me happy, he made me think that there could be something. He could never like a girl like me. He said so himself. I'm just a dumb stupid girl in love," You were frustrated. "I just wanted to show him how much he meant to me. How he made my days better. How I loved going out with him in the middle of the night. How I loved hugging him after games. He's just an amazing dude, but that stupid- that stupid rulebook! I would've confessed if it weren't for that fucking rule seventeen. I'm just some idiotic best friend who fell in love with him. I just wish he'd like me back but he likes some other girl and I can't do anything about it because he's-"
"Y/n stop," Kuroo grabs your shoulders. "Stop."
"Wh-why?" You ask as he moves to the side. You notice Akaashi and Bokuto standing behind him. Your eyes widen at the sight and your brain shifted into panic mode. You pushed Kuroo out and slammed the door afterward. You locked the door, putting your back against it. As you slid down the door, you turned off the lights.
"Y/n, open the door," Bokuto knocked.
"Go away," You sniffled. You hid your face in your knees as you cried. Exposing your feelings to your crush without even realising was truly embarassing.
"Let's talk," Bokuto leaned against the door as he pleaded. "Please."
"No," You stood up and walked over to your bed. You pulled the sheets over your entire body.
"I'm not leaving until you talk to me," Bokuto says. He turns to the other boys in hopes of thinking of something to get you out. "Can you guys leave me and Y/n? I might have to stay here all night."
"You're stubborn, but be nice to her," Akaashi says. "Let's go Kuroo."
The two boys leave as Bokuto sat at the base of your door. His back was against the wall, his head pointed towards the floor. "Y/n, I know you don't want to talk to me but just hear me out will you?" He started. You sat up to hear his words. "I didn't know how you felt, I don't think any of us did. I'd be scared to confess too, especially how close we are. I like when you come to my games, when we go out past midnight, and everything in between. I just- I can't lose you. I know you used rule twenty, but- but- fuck the rulebook. I can't let you walk out of my life just for me to date someone else. I don't want to date a girl who drives my best friend away."
You opened the door slightly to see Bokuto sitting. "That's all I'll ever be to you though, a best friend," You say softly. Bokuto stood up at the sound of your voice and looked down at you.
"Y/n," His voice lowered as he saw your puffy eyes. "Can I come in?" You nodded before turning toward your desk. You turn on the lamp before hopping on the bed. Bokuto sits at the end of the bed.
"How'd you guys even get in?" You tried to change the subject.
"Your parents let us in before they left the house," Bokuto chuckled. He couldn't keep his normal energetic mood up as he turned to see how gloomy you were being. "Y/n, why didn't you tell me how you felt?"
"I didn't want to ruin our friendship," You sighed. You began to fiddle with the sleeves of your hoodie. Bokuto scoots closer to you and you pulled the comforter against your body.
"Did you mean what you said? All of it?" He asked.
"I did," You mumbled. "I like holding you after games, being dumbasses in stores, and just being with you. Every time I've been around you my day gets better. I know you don't like me like that but it's the truth...When you said you'd never date a person like me, it hurt. Like a lot...I thought Kuroo of all people would've said that considering how mean I get with him. But you? I wasn't expecting to hear that."
"I-I'm sorry," Bokuto looks at your hands.
"You don't have to be," You stopped tugging at your sleeves to admire the chipped nail polish on your hand. "It's your feelings."
"No," He starts. "I'm sorry for treating you like shit recently. I've been lying to you, and it was stupid how I handled it."
"What do you mean?" You looked up to see Bokuto staring at his own hands.
"Everytime I've been mean to you or dismissed your feelings was cause- cause I like you. I didn't know how to tell you or act," He says. "I mean it. From when I told you I'd never date you...
"Really Bokuto?" Kuroo groaned. "I'd never date you or someone like you? A little harsh don't you think?"
"Considering he's whipped for her I didn't think he'd be so mean," Akaashi says. "Why do you still follow rule seventeen when you know she's the girl you want to be with?"
"Because she and I made the rule, it's stupid but what else am I supposed to say?" Bokuto threw his head back. "I fucked up, didn't I?"
"Just a tad," Akaashi says.
To when I was 'showing' Akaashi photos of the girl I liked? It wasn't anyone else, it was just a celebrity I was showing him. I wanted to see what you'd do if you heard I liked someone else. I'm like, in love with you. I've been in love with you before the whole rulebook. When we came up with rule seventeen, I didn't want to break the rules. I didn't think you'd use my own rule against me. For that, I fucked up and hurt you. I'm sorry."
"Are you- I don't believe you," You looked away from him. Bokuto shifts his body to grab his phone out of his pocket. "How could you love me before the rule book?"
"Here, look at my phone," You grabbed it and noticed the lockscreen of the group of you. "Now unlock it."
You unlock the phone, his password was his birthday, to see you as his lockscreen. More specifically when you fell asleep on Bokuto. The photo was the two of you cuddled up, asleep after a long day to which Kuroo took a photo of.
"Best friends shouldn't be cuddling," You snicker.
"You're smiling," He points out. "I mean it when I say I fell for you. I love seeing you happy and I don't want to lose you over my stupid lies."
"You really mean it?" You ask. Bokuto nods as you hand him back the phone. You began to admire him as the waves of relief hit you. "Y'know what, fuck the stupid rulebook."
You sat up and pulled Bokuto by the collar, crashing your lips into his. His hand drops his phone as he snakes his hand around your waist. Your hands settle and wraps around his neck as your lips moved together in sync.
It felt like heaven kissing Bokuto's soft lips for the first time. Feeling how close he was to you made your cheeks full of color. Bokuto finds himself pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss.
After a few moments of making out, you pull away for air. "I love you," Bokuto whispered. "I'm sorry for hurting you and I just want to see you smile. Please let me make it up to you and be the reason you smile?"
"I love you too," You placed small kisses on his cheek before resting your chin on his shoulder. "Promise you won't lie to me again?"
"I promise," He says before softly nuzzling into your neck.
"Bo?" You ask.
"Hm?"
"I know it's late but, can we go get something to eat?" You say into his shoulder.
"Anything for you," He chuckled.
