What if I sobbed, huh? What if I cried my eyes out?

imagine being like, martha's family, and just looking at this fucking guy who you've been imprisoned with for a year, and he's having like as bad a time as you, and then he's like "no actually i want to live domestically with the evil guy who took over the world" who for some reason he calls master, and it's kind of uncomfortable. and then the guy, the evil guy gets shot and your guy, the one you've been imprisoned with, he runs over to the evil guy and hugs him, and begs him to "regenerate" whatever that means, and then the evil guy dies, and your guy just has a breakdown, sobbing, screaming, shaking, rocking, everything, while cradling the evil guy's corpse. like, that's got to be an incredibly awkward situation

i’ve really enjoyed how they opened the first two episodes not focused on our main characters at all, and showing us just how terrifying the cordyceps infection is.
the scientists at the beginning of the pilot on the talk show, and at first there’s that good-natured talk show feel, but the longer the scientist goes on explaining the cordyceps and how it would be possible for it to survive in humans and imagine thousands upon thousands being controlled, and the whole auditorium goes still and silent, and it ends with just two words, “we lose.”
and then in this episode, with the mycologist and her complete fear after examining the body. the shaking of her hands and the quiet terror in the way she says that there is no cure, no medicine. that the only solution is to bomb the city with everyone in it. and can someone take her home so she can be with her family, because she understands what the scientist said from the first episode. we lose.

oh this whole conversation and dynamic is fascinating. i love you. i hate the source of your power. you keep walking towards your power. do you love me? i love what you can do with your power. but not more than i love you. can you say the same?
you wouldn't lie to me again. would you. this isn't a one way road. im not feeding her, she's feeding me-
i don't understand.
if you can't reconcile with that, it's okay- *interrupts her with a kiss*
I'll never let you go. And if you need her. Then that's my answer.
(oh you two are fucked up fucked up. :'D)

The discussion around the fandomization of the I/P conflict is so fucking relevant because why did I just see someone in a discord for a reaction channel that reacts to musicals and cartoons suggest them to react to the Columbia ""protests"" with a heart emoji as if it's another episode of their favorite show and SIX other people agreed with that
