happy birthday (LS2 x OP81)

synopsis: happy birthday oscar piastri. ur amazing. lovely lovely oscar!! w/c: 688 a/n: it’s oscar piastri day!! there’s a lot of logical flaws in this story but who cares right. day 13 of Loscar posts until we get a LOSCAR PODIUM (series masterlist) also remind me to write a part 2 to this on the 31st of December okay 

Oscar stares at his lock screen, his stare is blank and unreadable. He watches the multiple notifications slide in all wishing him happy birthday in one way or another. He swipes them away after briefly reading the first few words.

He looks back up at the clock again, 10am. He sighs and looks back down at his phone as it fades to black. He turns it on again, still staring at the empty lock screen.

He starts floating into a daze.

His phone rings, which snaps him out of his trance. It’s Lando. 

He picks up the phone

“Hey.” He says, trying his best to sound excited. Well, he is but he’s more excited for something else.

“Hello Oscar Piastri.” Lando says, clearly sensing Oscar’s lack of excitement, “Clearly someone hasn’t texted in yet.” Lando scoffs softly but Oscar can hear it.

“Shut up.” Oscar says, rolling his eyes, “I’m not expecting his text, we haven’t talked in a while okay.”

“Really?” Lando pushes.

“Yes.”

“Sure?”

“Yes. Very sure.”

“Liar.”

“Shut up.”

“You’re still waiting for Logan’s little happy birthday!” Lando says it in a childish sound.

“No I’m not.”

“Yes you are.” 

“No.”

“Okay once you’re done waffling on about it, Logan’s here… like outside the McLaren garage.” Lando says, which piques Oscar’s attention.

“Why are you there so early?” Oscar says, diverting the subject of the conversation.

“Needed to talk.”

“Liar.”

Oscar says as Lando hangs up.

He tuts and gets up, throwing on his coat and walking out. He briskly walks to the track, which isn’t that far.

Oscar anxiously walks into the paddock, his eyes darting around to find Logan. He doesn’t know why he’s so nervous. Maybe it was because he had the looming thought that Logan would never wish him happy birthday again, which wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it wasn’t Logan but it was and it meant everything.

Logan and Oscar were the closest of friends before all of this. Logan wished Oscar happy birthday every single year at 12 midnight sharp but ever since last year he hasn’t.

Last year, Logan wished Oscar at a random time in the day which disappointed Oscar a little by not receiving a message at 12 midnight.

However, this year Logan hasn’t even wished Oscar a happy birthday probably because they were nearing the final thread of their friendship. It suddenly dawned on Oscar that he would never get another “happy birthday!” from Logan if he didn’t do anything now.

He panics.

He fucked up real bad didn’t he.

He forgot to wish Logan a happy birthday last year and now Logan probably thought that meant the end of their friendship.

God he was stupid.

He beat himself up over forgetting to wish him and regretted everything.

He swiftly finds the McLaren garage but no Logan, he quickly wipes his disappointment and walks into the garage. His entire team is there to wish him a happy birthday and that made him feel slightly better. He smiles widely for the camera and blows out the candles. 

Lando makes some snarky remark which causes Oscar to chuckle stupidly again.

It takes them a few minutes to wrap everything up but when they do, Oscar takes out his phone and the message lingering there makes his face light up.

Logan: happy birthday oscar!! come outside please

Oscar shuts his phone off, being so excited he forgets to respond to the message. He darts past his team and pushes the garage door open and right there is Logan Hunter Sargeant.

“Happy Birthday Oscar.” Logan says, presenting Oscar a soft toy of a koala.

Oscar’s smile widens even more and he feels like he’s stupid smiling right now but he couldn’t care less.

He hugs the koala tight and snuggles it before running up to Logan and hugging him.

“Thank you.” Oscar says as he tightly grips onto Logan.

“Happiest of birthdays Oscar.”

“I promise I’ll never forget yours again.” Oscar says as he hugs Logan tighter.

“Are we still talking about this? I told you it’s alright.”

“No it’s not. It isn’t.”

“Whatever.” Logan chuckles.

B A C K G R O U N D

henrik is the youngest mikaelson sibling and during their human years, was often babied and doted on by his older siblings and mother. however, he was closest to his older brother, klaus and considered him to be his best friend despite the differences in their age.

he was a very sweet and friendly child. he loved to make friends with people and his kindness ran very deep. very empathetic towards others and wanted nothing more than to make his family members and other people around him happy.

during his latter teen years, henrik spent even more time with klaus, which unfortunately led to his own death. on the night of the full moon, the two brothers went into the woods to watch the wolves transform. regretfully, that decision ended with henrik being attacked by a werewolf and dying.

upon his lifeless body being carried back to their village, esther decided then and there that she didn't want to risk losing any more of her children and set a plan into motion. she cast a spell to tie henrik's soul to his body so he wouldn't pass on, and then went on to cast the spell that turned the mikaelsons into vampires.

assuming that her magic failed, esther and the rest of his family had his body laid to rest, only for henrik to wake up hours later in the midst of his transition.

confused and obsessively thirsty, henrik fed on the first human he came across, before hiding away in the shadows until nightfall. it took him some time to make his way back to the village, him being confused and overwhelmed by his new nature. and he didn't want to risk harming his family either, whom he had no idea had transitioned just like him.

when he finally made his way back home, the mikaelsons had already left to begin their new lives as vampires, leaving henrik alone.

so he traveled by himself for centuries, hiding away in the shadows, feeding and erasing people's memories of him so that he could fly under the radar as best as possible. eventually he learned that his siblings and father were still alive, and wanted to reach out to them, but feared that they had long since forgotten and gotten over his death. he also avoided them because he didn't want to cross paths with their father.

it's not until recently that he's finally gathered the courage to face his family again. he used his own resources to track them down as best he could without drawing attention to himself, and has traveled to mystic falls to (hopefully) reunite with them.

personality wise, henrik is the most calm of the originals, as well as the friendliest and most level headed (minus elijah). he can be rather moody at times, but he rarely resorts to violence or anger unless pushed to that point. he has a very disarming physical appearance, which works out in his favor most of the time. he'd rather be underestimated and have people not expect much from him than have people think they can challenge him.

M I S C E L L A N E O U S

what are your character’s goals? do they have any present allegiances? henrik's main goal right now is to reunite with his family. his only allegiance is to the mikaelsons.

what has your character been up to before/during the start of our group, at the beginning of tvd season 3? ( feel free to play with or mix up canon events as you like ! ) henrik's been traveling and staying off of everyone's radar.

what songs do you associate with your character? when the party's over by billie eilish, demons by imagine dragons.

have you altered anything about your character’s canon? henrik is a little older, he didn't die (permanently) and he's an original vampire.

do you have any other random headcanons worth mentioning? he takes after klaus when it comes to his love of artwork. he's an animal lover. even though it's impossible for him to die by their hand (unless they happen to have a white oak stake), henrik has a deep fear of werewolves and doesn't trust them.

is there anything you’re potentially interested in exploring romantically for your character / what do you, or could you, ship? i would love to explore romance for henrik. he doesn't have much experience in that department because he's avoided making deep connections with people during his existence, but it's something he's always wanted to experience. he sometimes gets jealous seeing couples out and about because it's nothing he's experienced for himself before. i'm open to any ships.

what sort of current or future connections/plots are you looking for? honestly, anything and everything! i'm open to anything.

Have I talked about Skyrim au? Probably. I know I've at least mentioned it. Anywho. I'd say I'll be brief but I'm laughing at myself. Me? Brief? No way

Remus — Remus is a part of the Dark Brotherhood. They are ! assassins ! He specializes in contracts that are meant to send a message to the general public and he's kind of weird. A bit like Cicero but even Cicero says there's something off about him. He fits in extremely well though and it satiates his blood lust enough for him to actually chill the hell out the rest of the time.

Roman — Roman is a part of the Companions! They are a warriors guild and he has proven himself to be one of the best among them. A true shield-brother! He's also a werewolf in the inner circle (a fact of which Remus is extremely jealous) and he always plays the hero for whatever they have to do.. which is good because its the schtick. Clearing bounties, picking bandits off the roads, whatever. He's up for it.

Logan — Logan is a professor at the College Of Winterhold! I'm going to pretend there is more storyline to the College and actual classes because I love mage Logan and he deserves love!! He actually kind of hates that it's freezing there but he wants to learn more magic so he does. I love him and he is babey. I'm on a Logan kick rn.

Patton — Patton attends the Bards College in Solitude. He learns to play instruments and he travels. Why? Honestly, I just really like the idea of someone thinking he's a stupid bard but he has gossip from across Skyrim and will break his lute on someone's head if he needs to. I don't want to push Innocent Useless Patton; he's a deadly bitch. And bards aren't usually deadly in Skyrim so I'm changing things for him <3

Virgil — Virgil is a vampire in Clan Volkihar but he's often on the roads instead. He's not a big fan of the leader of the clan (Harkon when I catch you Harkon) and was actually friends with his daughter Serana before she went missing (to his knowledge). He was originally a member of the Dawnguard (vampire hunters) but he contracted vampirism and couldn't cure it in time. He treats it as a "you ever have one of those days where this might as well happen?" thing.

Janus — Janus is a thief in the Thieves Guild in Riften. I have been waiting for this. He is one of the best thieves they've got and he's cocky about it. He's basically Vex, except that he's actually better at pickpocketing and sneaking into places. He's also a fence, which means anything stolen that he's given he'll turn around and sell for a profit. He's immensely cocky but it's for a good reason.

Thomas — Dragonborn. Just some dude who turned out to be Dragonborn and is now travelling and oh god, why does he have to meet such interesting people?

Anyway they all know each other. Virgil and Janus are exes, Patton and Logan grew up together, the twins see each other like once in a blue moon but Remus occasionally tries to kill Roman for the fun of it (it's practice!), and I love them all dearly. I'm actually replaying Skyrim so !! Yippee !! I have something to base all this on :D
