3. what is your muse’s favorite hobby?

Out of all the many, excessive hobbies Duki Nuki has accumulated... his favourite has gotta be goldsmithing. Making jewelery is his favourite comfort activity after a long day of gathering, adventuring, or hugely traumatic encounters!

5. what does self-care look like to your muse?

Self care, to Duki Nuki, is intentionally hanging out in lower-danger areas and helping out the occasional passer by, reminding himself of what it was like to be in their position.

7. what would your muse consider a perfect day?

That's a tough one... being with Furbi or Wulfric already makes his day pretty darn good! He probably recently experienced what he'd call a perfect day in taking a break from heroics and simply gathering and showing off to Furbi, and then having the chance to chat to him...

8. what does your muse love doing with other people?

Any time spent with another is time well spent for Duki! Even if they're doing completely different things or they're in their own zones, just having someone around to share the sights and sounds of the environment they're in makes Duki feel at peace.

13. what would your muse consider their best physical feature?

His sunglasses. Also his hair.

15. what is something that’s made your muse so happy they’ve cried?

One of Duki's most distinct memories is at the climax of the Dragonsong War, in the final showdown against Nidhogg. When he saw that he was being aided in his most crucial moment by Haurchefant and Ysayle... Duki was, at the time, too overcome by a need to do his duty to Ishgard to really feel it out, but when he got to his bed that night... the floodgates were thrown wide, knowing that the two of them, who he so looked up to, were still with them in some form.

22. what does your muse consider the most beautiful place they’ve ever been?

Duki's been all around, and so far, he'd probably have to say Hingashi is the most beautiful place he's been to. There was just something about the colourful and lively architecture, and the way the sun dances on the water, that just struck him. That's why he was so motivated, immediately, to climb Hingashi tower - just to get a better view of the sea!

25. during difficult times, what is something your muse holds onto to get them through?

His House Fortemps shield, which he still uses in his Paladin kit, is definitely a go-to for him. Else than that... he'd probably have to say his old Anima weapon. It's a sign of achievement for him, of progress he never could have once imagined making, but the glow of the weapon reminds him that, despite everything, he did - and he had something amazing and beautiful to call his own for it!

“They should have killed him – look at it. It’s horrible.” A vampire the elders had said? Some rabisu? What was even that? A small look of disgust slipped between the frown that pulled down the pale youth’s face. A pair of mottley hazel eyes trying to peering between the small slit just above his head at the captive man chained by foot. They had tried to bind his hand with some enchanted cuffs but having even managed to bind the vampire’s legs with their magic could have been something only attributed to sheer luck. Besides, the courtiers always liked when their beasts had some sort of fight left in them. Wulfric was no courtier, nor the young Malak who sat quietly weaving the long strands of gold wheat into the tiny figure, seemingly completely unconcerned by. They did not have the privilege of the right blood.

“He needs his sword.” The little witch muttered softly to the wheat.

The boy huffed and sat down, a roaming black hound wandering over to lay at his feet as he did.  “Why should have we been told to stay down here while the court fusses over a dead man? Ernust is already dead. Isa is dead and Mathusalem fell on his own sword! And this monster is here–” The little tug from Malak at Wulfric’s breeches brought the boy back from his rant. 

“Look. I made –” A quick hand snatched up figure, throwing the poppet at the cell door leaving the little boy speechless.  

“Does nobody even care?! We are all going to die!” 

The soft clatter of metal against metal rattled from down the staircase causing the hound to take to its feet and slink off with haste. A wash of terror flooded both child’s face as both children stood to attention. “He is dangerous. You should fear him, giovane—” A voice calm and deep, heard not seen, yet so deeply penetrating, intrusive, it could only be considered more as a thought than a sound. It was uncanny. Sometimes even worse than the appearance of the one that it came from.

A penitent expression took hold of Wulfric’s demeanour, taking his gaze down to the younger boy as the rich fire lit shadows gave way inch by inch to the figure which wore the velvet veiled mask. The one who adorned itself in so much gold and jewel and fine drapery that hung over cracked leather and yet seemingly floated with each step giving the impression of that bejewelled phantom. The one their elders would tell the children tales of. The Alchemist. The undying man. But there was another man with him today. Paced behind him in chains. The children did not fully recognise this man, beaten and bruised, but then again, sometimes there were so many new faces at the chateau. New business. His dark waved hair, even darker eyes and olive tanned skin with its sickly feverish sheen. He could have been a cousin, but Malak knew of something worse. 

A skinny blood soaked leather clad crept out from behind the figure’s well worn cloak taking it down to curl his fingers between Wulfric’s chestnut locks, pulling but a single piece of hair from his hair. “-- but there are far worse things than him in the world.” His head turned to his companion. Dismissing the boys with a wave of his hand, watching as the two scrambled over the top of one another to climb the stairs.

The alchemist scoffed, turning his attention back to the door which housed this new creature. “Are you still awake in the vam - pyre. I think we should very much like to get to know you.”

Thank you! I’m glad you liked the story I wrote 😅sometimes I worry the story lines are childish or idk. I’m not confident in my writing but I’m sure every writer feels that way.

Anyway 😂 I got some sleep but I’m also exhausted. Oh and funny enough I had a history test today, American history and the teacher does like 100 test questions plus 10 bonus questions that don’t go against your grade but can improve it. Only these 10 bonus questions have nothing to do with American history legit one of the bonus questions was

Finished Glory and the Master of Shadows and it was excellent! I'll save a full rec for my monthly round-up, but for now, here are 3 takeaways (spoiler alert):

a) I'm deeply impressed Grace dug deep and managed to give us a sex act she hasn't written before (see: the epilogue). I'm less impressed with myself for apparently having memorized all the sex acts she has included because I have, in fact, read every HR she's written 💀

b) WHO IS THIS MAN, WOLF (pardon, Wulfric)?? If you take such great pains to describe him as hot and an *honorable* man (despite being the leader of a gang; but dw guys, he likes dogs so it's all chill), AND he hit on Glory right in front of Wei? He has to be a future hero....right?

c) I'm pretty sure the sex shop voyeur lady keeps her evil racist uncle medically sedated and partially paralyzed, which is a twist I did not see coming.

DWC Feburary Challenge Day 3 (Catch up) - Shine  — Shadow @daily-writing-challenge​

TW: Maybe spoiler-y for post HW, due to theory talk in-character.   Notes: Wulfric and Na’fisa go out to find materials, and get to talk about some things on their minds. Focuses more on my own lore for Na’fisa, only vaguely mentioning story stuff AFAIK As usual, @jotaro-kuujo mention for Wulfric and Na’tahna

Na’fisa Bast caught herself in between. The urge to break out into a bout of bright laughter was quelled only by one of her mortal enemies- the force before her: water. The seemingly pleasant, knee deep water was babbling and rushing harmlessly against the rocks of the sometimes river before them due to recent miraculous rain in Thanalan. 

“Come on, there’s no need to scowl.” Wulfric joked as he finished hauling his outerwear off. She wanted to desperately to give her usual laugh- she adored when he looked for any excuse to remove his shirt, and not getting his clothing wet was one that he always jumped on. But she herself was dreading crossing the river. It was only knee deep, and the glaring, vengeful-at-the-recent-rains sun would embrace her to dryness in no time- if she avoided getting all of her layers of flowing cloth wet.  “I know.” She sniffed as if she wasn’t pouting. “It is a good day. I got to see ‘Tahna, we are going hunting, and there is going to be an amazing dress at the end of it all.” Na’fisa was hyping herself up more than informing him, of course. She grabbed and hoisted as many ends of cloth from around her knees as she could to her hips and began the trudge across the rocks.  Don’t fall. Don’t fall. Don’t fall.  The only time she ever struggled with balance was when water was involved.  “Speaking of Tahna...” Wulfric started in that way- the way you could tell he had been thinking on something and looking for a way to bring it up. She cocked a visible eyebrow as she glanced up from her soaked feet at him. As if feeling her gaze, he twisted around to walk backwards- Fisa hoped he wasn’t planning a prat fall to make her laugh at the expense at his clothing. Eh, maybe if they were in deeper waters...  “Does she dye her tail, too?”  Blink. Temporarily forget where she is. “What?” His grin turned sheepish. “Well, I assumed because her hair is different that she dyed it. But her tail is blue, too.” Now she giggled, she couldn’t help it. He was paused in a back-step in the spray of the river catching a rock she would use to jump across. Glistening, smiling at her... Not this lifetime, Fisa.  She shook her head to clear her thoughts. “No, no. That is very fair and I appreciate being assumed to be the normal one.” The Miqo’te woman elegantly bound across the rocks, and twisted around Wulfric to the other side. Silently appreciating his distraction from her enemy. “Her fur started darker, almost black. It lightened over the years to the teal you see now.” Loose fabric gets released from claws and a twist into a high kick shakes them loose to gravity. “My hair started pitch-black, as well.” She admits.  “Oh?”  “Mhmm. Magic and the Light have.. taken color from it, I think.” Oh, this isn’t a subject she has brushed upon with this Wulfric yet. A glance at him to catch his expression while he redresses says that he seems unbothered, however. So she butterfly twists, lands, and focuses on him. “What about you, silver W’ulf?” Fangs flash with the doting nickname. “Did the Light take your color?”  Laughing, said locks shaking loose in his face. “No, that’s age. It effects some of us.” Ooh! So close to the truth.  “How do you feel about it?” “Age?” “No!” Hands to her hips. Her glare is only met with laughter that makes her smile. “The Light, and the Darkness.”  He uprights, and stretches. “It makes sense, with everything we have learned. The crystals, the Ascians... Light versus Dark is a reoccurring theme.” While he spoke and they walked, she was pretending to check over her weapons. Thoughts of telling him everything just to hear what he would say about it crossed her mind frequently. He was brilliantly smart and studied to boot. But everything involved a lot of probability, and that conversation would last months for them. “I cannot help but feel like... something knows.” It was only so often she struggled to put her thoughts to words. “Something does, obviously, to keep sending me along to the next lifetime. But it feels like something else knows, too. Like I have a shadow following me as I skirt the line between the two.”  His expression was one of understanding, to some degree, with the smallest hints of surprise that she knew to look for. The bite she had on her lip lessened.  “I’d like to talk about this more.” His eyes found hers. “After we get the materials for your dress. Maybe over tea or coffee?”  As usual, he made a grin creep along her lips. “Deal.”

the line was ash just saying "now I'm mad!" from a bw episode and I was overanalyzing it and ended up trying to work out whether ash announces it cause he really has his heart on his sleeve or if he announces it because he feels like he won't be noticed or paid attention to otherwise (unnecessary angst and sadness)

Ooh!!! That’s a pretty cool analysis so far, I like it!! I think it could be both in a way to be honest.

Makes me think about how in XYZ he just kinda,,, dipped after he lost to Wulfric b/c he wanted to be alone.
