thinking about the Devastating emotional damage that would come from being constantly told how much you look like your father, how much you take after him and looking into the mirroring and seeing nothing but his jawline and cheeks, the broadness of his shoulders, the forming shadows of his facial hair beginning to come in, the way his bronze eyes sit in your face. and at first you look upon these features with pride and they make you straighten your back and shoulders, raising your chin slightly to look as much of king as he is "but I will be kinder" you say, "I will lead with a gentle and generous hand" and you would have, in the only way you knew how, but it would not have been what was needed, it would not have been the kindness it was meant to be. then,,, then you had your mind taken from you, your limbs and body no longer your own but to your minds eye, and the memories that ingrained themselves in your head afterwards, there was no difference; and so as your hand gripped the sword and your arm raised above your head, your feet steadying themselves against the ground, the world slowed to a tormenting pace,, and then your arm arched down, the writhing shadow in your mind forcing you to use all the strength you have, to cut clean through the neck of your father. And the eyes, the nose, the jaw and the cheeks you saw repeated in every interaction and every reflection rolled past your feet, severed from the shoulders and height you had grown so easily into. What was it like afterwards? When you met his eyes in broken glass or rippling water. Did it feel like looking at a corpse? Did it feel like you were back in the throne room, severing his head again every time you caught a glimpse of your own reflection, every time you saw his haunted, grief ridden eyes looking back at you instead? Is that why you blamed yourself so heavily for what happened to your brother? Because you bare your fathers face and shoulders and body and He failed him? I don't blame you. How could you not feel his failures as yours every time you looked into a mirror or still puddle and saw his face, his bronze eyes and black hair crowding the surface. And so you bore not only your own sins but his as wells, because truly they are interchangeable by this point. "You are your father's son" They said, pride, sadness, bitterness, anger, and resignation brimming the sentence, disregarding completely how you glanced side long at his reflection in the window, desperately aching to see your own face looking back at you, for once.

hey. you probably won't see this, but i just wanted to say thank you for not being a jerk about bi lesbians. it's really disheartening how much hate we still get, and it's nice to see someone just. not doing that.

it's nice to know someone with a (probably?) big blog/account is in our corner.

Locking in for 2025

Trigger warning: a little bit about 3ds

ok gang the big moment is coming up. Listen, I believe that you never need to start or make new goals for the new year. These things can happen any time, and the most important part has to be you putting in the effort. Things have gotten a little scary for me recently, I mentioned in my last post stuff about me thinking about 3ds, and this time it was so much worse. And here is the thing; I shoved my measurements into a bmi calculator and I am overweight, I binge constantly, I don't work out, I'm unhappy with how I style myself because everything looks wrong on me, and I don't want to live like this. So here is my plan, my fully fledged plan.

As soon as the holidays are officially over, I am going into a calorie deficit and working out regularly.

I am going to eat healthier, I am going to focus on my friends and my future instead of romantic relationships.

I am going to practice my faith consistently.

I am going to enjoy myself and have fun.

For my own sake I have to. I can't ignore this anymore.

I love you all, and be safe.

Got tagged by @becausedragonage for Reflection Ruesday, so here’s my entry :)

My DA protagonists in their “prime” aka during their respective adventures. From left to right: Atlas Thorne (she’s more of a shadow of a figure oops), Cal Cadash, Warik Brosca (having a crisis at the antics of his fellow recruit), George Amell (she’s very normal about being let out of the Circle I swear), and Bailey Hawke. I’m going to create another version of them in the current day too, just for fun.

I still plan on finishing this eventually, but armour is EVIL to draw and I couldn’t figure out how I wanted to finish this — line art or no? Render? Cel-shade? Etc. etc. Also Atlas’ design kept changing in the interim so.

Eventually it’ll get done. Probably.

Fun fact about my characters that’s not at all related to this, but Atlas was originally a Warden I made for Awakening (and also a dude. And I did make her Tabris once but it didn’t feel right for the character). This was before Warik was created, and her sole purpose was to answer the question of “who becomes Warden-Commander of Ferelden?” Because George is… not a contender. At all. Putting her in charge would have been catastrophic, even with all the character growth she went through during the Blight. So she’s never offered the job of Ferelden’s Warden-Commander; that instead went to Atlas, an Orelsian senior Warden.

That version of Atlas was eventually scrapped when Warik entered the picture. He answered a lot of other questions — like “why on earth would any of the companions stick around if George was their leader” and “how did Ferelden not get annihilated with George leading the fight?” (she’s a terrible Warden. I love her but she’s terrible) — and also fit the role of Warden-Commander. So the OG Atlas got shelved, and spent a long time gathering dust before Veilguard finally gave her a chance to shine.

…Well, kind of. Her first iteration’s story paralleled Davrin’s a little too closely, so between that and a bunch of other changes, there’s probably not much left of the original Atlas. But I try to leave little references where I can, as an homage to that first pile of pixels.

Hoy fue un día tranquilo y tengo noticias. No son buenas ni malas, solo noticias. Hoy pesé 75,4 kg, lo que representa un retroceso, pero no muy preocupante. La verdad, esperaba un número más alto. Por otra parte, ha sido un día bastante tranquilo; solo tuve una pequeña batalla con el impulso esta tarde, pero salí victoriosa.

Estuve viendo redes sociales y, entre los mil videos, me marcó uno que decía que adelgazar era cosa de ser estrictos y restrictivos, y estoy de acuerdo.

Por otra parte, siempre hay un "pero", y en esta ocasión es una punzada en el corazón. Es un sentimiento con tintes de tristeza y preocupación, y todo empezó cuando me probé ropa—porqué mañana voy a salir con unos amigos—y nada me gusta y no es precisamente por las prendas, sino por cómo le quedan a mi cuerpo. Eso me hizo sentir insegura, y tengo temor de que mañana eso se refleje.

Oh thank you! Those fics will always have such a special place in my heart omg, those are some of my fondest memories of writing thus far! Anytime I get to collab with @cal-puddies is an absolute dream but there was something about building that story that felt especially magical, it was so exciting to load up the doc everyday and see what the other had come up with! 🥰

I personally think that couple is still together. They've definitely been thru some ups and downs - and probably an argument or two that resulted in one of them staying at a friend's house for a couple days - but I think through the events of WTSCU, they better understand each other and have now learned to more effectively communicate their own needs while respecting the other's and how to let their occasional conflicts remain stimulating and tension-building in a sexy way (like in Remember When) rather than in a relationship threatening way (like in whatever happened between the two stories lol). Opposites attract for a reason and I think they appreciate and are willing to be playful with that fact because they now know that underneath their big personalities and bigger emotions, there is a genuine love and care for each other that they haven't found anywhere else. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts! 💙
