While the poll for the CarCar fic I should write is going strong, I needed to keep my mind somewhere else. (In case you have not voted yet, here’s the link to the poll)

While we wait for the end I will share some snippets from the bottom 4 ideas from both polls

1. Everybody Loves Oscar (Chatfic ft. Brocedes)

L: Hey.

L: It’s Lewis.

L: I know we no longer talk. But our kid is in danger.

N: I know it’s you.

N: It was not me the one who blocked and deleted the other’s number.

N: And what do you mean our kid?

N: What happened to Oscar?

L: I saw Lando giving Oscar chocolates. Max was talking about driving with him, Charles was inviting him to play padel, Logan was telling him about a movie night together…

N: Lewis, he’s getting friends, stop being weird about it.

L: Do friends try to kiss each other?

N: Number 1. You said we had a bro kiss the first time we kissed.

N: Number 2. Who the hell tried to kiss Oscar?

L: All of the above and some more.

N: Fuck.

L: But I have two news...

N: Bad one first.

L: Oscar might be interested in another driver, so he’s ignoring all of them.

N: That’s not so bad.

L: I was not done.

L: The bad news is that it’s Carlos Sains Jr.

N: Oh no…

N: Tell me the good news is that Carlos is not interested and we can try to make Oscar move on.

L: Nico…

L: I never said there were good news.

N: What?!

L: I think Carlos and Oscar are in a situationship… or worse, a full relationship.

N: That Fucker!

N: Couldn’t you move to Ferrari earlier?

L: ?!

L: How’s my fault, again?

N: I thought you would keep an eye on him and would keep those wolves away.

N: I trusted your judgment.

N: Now excuse me.

N: I need to threat a Spaniard to death.

N: Again.

L: Nico

L: I swear to God…

L: Fuck

2. Super Powers AU

Oscar knew he was fucked, his eyes were focused on the man in front of him, on the weapon he had to “control” them and the way his eyes went to Logan, Oliver, and back to him.

He couldn’t let that man touch them. He couldn’t take his family away from him. Oscar wasn’t going to let him do it.

Not again.

But his powers were thriving to go out and face the man. Not for the usual reason and that was worrisome. He couldn’t let his powers betray him, he needed them to protect his brothers.

So, he started to prepare to fight, to kill if needed.

It was then that he felt it, small, hidden, scared. But powerful and ready to protect the man in front of him.

The guard had powers running through his body.

His eyes must have shown that he knew, because the man started to panic in that moment, even if nothing but his eyes revealed that.

Both were so fucked right now.

3. Marry, Kiss or Kill

-Oscar.

-No.

The Spaniard tried to keep the younger against the wall, but the wall, but the look on his eyes told him everything he needed to know.

-Were you going to kill me?

The words are out before he can think, and the look the Australian gives him is enough to make him sick. The older man knew he was referring to a game that never left his mind, but in that moment he sounded like he was fighting about the incident they just had.

-You were the one trying to kill me, Sainz. Lando won, you lost a place, but I nearly lost my whole car and I lost a good race. You were the one acting like you wanted to kill me.

And maybe he wanted that. He wanted to kiss… kill, he wanted to kill the McLaren driver.

That didn’t answer if Oscar would have kill him too in that game, so long ago, but the Spaniard knew, if he could, the younger boy would try to do it now.

4. Childhood Crushes

Carlos knows Fernando is going to kill him, he usually doesn’t care about many things he does, and if he cares, then Carlos can call or text his dad so he can talk and control Fernando. So, Carlos usually gets away with everything.

But this, Fernando will never forgive him. Because his adopted son was manipulated by Carlos to do the only thing Fernando told the both of them he was not allowed to do… without him.

-Something to share?

The older Spaniard looks at him before looking at the Australian kid. To his credit, Oscar acts like nothing happened and nothing is wrong, which makes Carlos act a little bit more calm.

Then, Fernando takes his cellphone out and shows them a photo of Carlos grabbing Oscar’s hips, standing too close to each other, and the younger Spaniard panics.

-It’s not what it looks like.

-Oh no? Then tell me, Carlos. Did you took my son to a karting track to race when I told you he shouldn’t go without me or did you not?

Oscar looks at the older boy with some eyes that say, you’re an idiot, and Carlos wants to punch him. But he knows he can’t do that or they will fist fight until one of them wins. Or until Fernando separates them.

Well, Carlos can accept the fault in this. Oscar is 12, he is 15. As the older man between the two, he needs to take accountability of his actions.

-It’s my fault dad. Let me explain…

Carlos lets the father and son talk while he keeps his eyes on the younger boy. God, he doesn’t know if he wants to punch him or kiss him.

If they survive this, maybe Carlos can punch him and then kiss him. Just like he did after Oscar won the karting race.

I found this draft in my notes! it's a draft from when I wrote "Wolf Pack ChatFic" and when I reread it I was going crazy at how much it was... ANYWAY Theo left and went to France because he's hosted by Isaac and with him are Jackson, Malia, Isaac and Kira!

Liam wondered how much Theo had been drinking at that very moment. And then endless other thoughts ran through his mind ranging from how he wanted to see him just for laughs, to how cute he was with that mumbling voice of his.

But then he paused on a thought that probably would never have crossed his mind and that made him doubt himself:

'I would have liked him to drink with me for the first time'

It was just a fleeting thought, it hurt to even think about letting it out of a part of his brain; but having thought of it, as if the frontal lobe that generates his devil of such confused emotions were playing with throwing them like such strong football blows against his cerebellum, making him lose his balance and his ability to be able to pay attention to the rest of the world, with the ball then bouncing against his temporal lobe trying to imagine Theo's face in exactly that frame where he was so close to Liam's face that Liam could notice how perfect his little mole on his left cheek was, until it rolled the ball is completely deflated in the brainstem but just like the ball he just can't remember when he completely lost his breath.

These emotions for Liam were something he could never imagine feeling, it was useless to even try to explain why he felt like this, he just felt bad, right?

It was just a bad disease that made him think desperately about just one person!

Like a Virus!

Liam definitely had a Virus!!

After giving himself a light slap on the face to recover, he cracked a smile and then like an idiot he heard that message on his answering machine three more times only to imprint Theo's sweet and seductive warm and hoarse voice in his mind, before deciding to hear the other six messages.

Liam didn't understand that message left on the answering machine. He should have been reading the messages in the group with everyone else but he just scrolled, it was morning, he had just woken up and found seven messages from Theo from the night before on his answering machine. He didn't have time to read chat messages, or rather, he preferred to hear Theo's voice scolding Scott about how everyone should be more responsible and absolutely not break the sink in Mason's house just because he saw Mason cheating at Monopoly or insults from Stiles about how Theo shouldn't have brought Jackson on his side!

So instead of reading the messages, he rolled up under his blankets and held the phone to his ear, hearing Theo's happy, carefree voice, and still there a part of his brain thought 'how much I wish it was me who made him so happy '. But his brain was kicked again just for staying silent, this time the parietal lobe was fucked up a little!

He rolled up, resting half his face on the pillow and played the voicemail again, Theo's little laugh finally destroying him but also managing to bring him back to life and put him back together.

Theo It was a fucking Virus that was supposed to be eradicated from his body!

"When I first saw them, I thought they were my heroes, that they would take me out of the pain I was feeling, that they would make me happy, just a stupid kid with a life ahead of me... I wish I'd met you that day ... But I was nine? And you were probably 7?

Liam's body became cold, he was still, motionless while that damned sensation of falling from the sky ran down his entire back. His heart clenched at Theo's broken voice, it was as if at any moment he would be destroyed by his own thoughts of him, with his voice cracking and the rustle of his hand in his hair. And from his voice alone she could tell that Theo's heart, Tara's heart was hurting.

He needed to hug him, to feel him close to him and yet his brain was now screaming at him to do something, to say something to him.

But it was just a message left on an answering machine, and Liam cursed himself for not having been awake just to be able to be close to him, to even be able to feel him next to him.

But those words, those words that Theo said in that voice of just wanting to be a dot among so many other vowels and symbols, were grabbing his heart and scratching it.

Could a seven-year-old ever completely change another child's life?

He didn't have the strength to hold back those thoughts, he didn't decide to listen to that message again, he would have cracked too and he couldn't do it, it was only midday!

Theo's voice seemed to have revived with that spark of his that made Liam melt and angry at the same time. How could he even think that a stupid voice so seductive and so fucking divine could be so stupidly stupid sometimes?! That amused little laugh making him seem not only drunk but a little high on weed.

He just wanted so damn much to be next to him, to feel that laughter on his skin.

Had he become mad? Or crazy?

It was this virus that made him feel this way....

The message stopped immediately, the sentence wasn't complete, Liam didn't know what Theo wanted to say at the end of the message but he had the same feeling as two messages before. Theo needed help, he wanted to run his hands through his hair, smell his scent, know what emotion he smelled like at that precise moment even if he could very well understand it from his voice. Why was Theo only vulnerable when he wasn't in his presence? Or not when their shoulders were touching pleasantly and neither of them wanted to move away even though they knew that misunderstandings would arise if anyone looked at them?

Why could he be when Liam couldn't touch him and feel his breathing one step away from him?

He smiled at the reference to his mother, after all Theo had grown fond of Jenna even if he didn't show it, even if he would never, ever show it because he didn't want to be a burden to anyone or at least Liam thought that Theo didn't he deserved maternal affection and Liam hated that bitter taste that remained in his mouth every single time.

But how did the sentence end? What did Theo want to tell him?

Why did it stop?

He had so many questions to ask Theo, but also none.

He just wanted to see his eyes and drown in him.

(ofc most of these aren’t being actively worked on currently. I’d say 4-5 are actively being written, the rest are backburner WIPs)

📝: What is one growth area you have for your writing?

Descriptions. I struggle with white room syndrome sometimes…and often even when I correct for that, I tend to sometimes overcorrect and get lost in descriptions 😅 trying to find a middle ground though! Dialogue comes much more naturally to me, but I’ve gotten better at managing descriptions over time

🤔: What is the hardest part of writing fic?

Editing 😂 not even so much writing, because at least with writing, I give myself permission to just write terribly. Editing is where the work happens: where I figure out what’s crucial to the story and what isn’t…aka which parts need to be cut, which can be hard. Same for when I have to cut chapters down—the last fic I wrote for the Morgan AU had pretty long chapters (about 6k) and I’m trying not to write chapters much longer than that 😅 even that was pretty long for me

🧠: What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

Maya Fey time travel fic!! This is an idea that flits through my head from time to time…as it has ever since I first played T&T in 2019. I keep trying to make it into a fic of some kind, but…we’ll see. Though I do hope to write a Maya-centric fic at some point regardless

🍰: Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave)

spiky twink rebooted (originally called “the adventures of spiky twink and the burger queen”) by @darealsaltysam for sure! It's an Ace Attorney high school AU chatfic. Usually AUs like that aren't my jam, but this is the one exception I made, and you won't regret it 💞 it's hilarious and wacky and the dynamics are fantastic. There are chatfic and prose portions, and both are spectacular. I can't recommend this enough if you're an Ace Attorney fan—I promise you, it's so worth it

Another one is AITA for accidentally starting a karate gang war? by @bobakick! Covers the events of Cobra Kai s1-s3 in Reddit form...and an absolute favorite of mine that I come back to so many times 😂 always makes me laugh and puts me in a good mood

Yes, many!!! Particularly the ones where people tell me in which situations I made them laugh (on the subway, at work, etc.) crack me up every time.

🍢 Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?

Oh, yeah. Obviously, people will hate chatfics because people hate chatfics, but those are surprisingly few? Like, I can count on one hand how many times I got hate for the gcau.

I remember there being a mean comment under my very first Thallen fic back in the day. Someone was going at me for making Eddie be afraid of spiders because it made him look weak when OBVIOUSLY he can't be weak because he's a MANLY MAN and also a COP. But while I was in the cinema after posting the fic, other commenters called them out on their bullshit, haha, that was sweet.

THE GAY ENERGY. THE QUEER GIRLS ENERGY. How many girls are smitten with Regina?? Cady had heart eyes the first time she saw her, GRETCHEN is… oh my gosh. Plus all the random girls in school.

I feel like lots won’t bring this up cause sadly Rise of the pink ladies were not that well marketed (PLEASE WATCH IT AND WATCH IT NOW!!), but when I saw ARI NORTATOMASO in the classroom I was like CYNTHIA’S DESCENDANT ??!! >:0

CANON LESBIAN JANIS!!!!! Finally!! But I am not sure how I feel about just giving her this random girl as her date to the spring fling.

I kinda wish to get more scenes with Cady and Janis. Idk personally ever since I read this chatfic from 2018 where they got together over this conversation I’ve kinda had a thing for them

(I’m not joking when I say this fic has been a huge inspo for me to start writing fics of my own. Like. Thank you person who wrote it. You’ve orphaned your account now but this fic will always be in my memory)

I’m not saying I needed them to be gfs in the movie just that I wanted some more moments :>

So the movie lacks a lot of the iconic moments from the 2004 film, but it’s supposed to be an adaptation of the musical anyway. Also if they just said every iconic line again it would just feel like an exact copy of the movie and that wasn’t the point.

Cady’s songs lack a bit for me. In the musical, she sang so loudly and expressed so much, but she sings so… quietly… here. I guess it’s a sort of choice for her character, and maybe this worked better for the movie format - musicals become different on stage and in movies, you can’t always be as theatrical on film as you can on stage. But, I just didn’t feel her emotions at all in the same way.

REGINA AND JANIS’ SONGS, THO? YEA. THEY SLAYED. I do feel sad they cut Gretchen and Karen’s parts out of Meet the plastics. Also that they cut Damian’s songs… Stop is literally such an important song because it gives advice not only to Cady but also to everyone watching?? I remember hearing it in 2018 and I personally felt like it could help me to not send too many texts to people, because when people didn’t answer I got nervous and sent even more. But then… some songs maybe don’t work as well in movie format, I don’t know.

Also because Janis is canonically gay now, I’d rather be me is officially a queer anthem!!!!! 😁😁

Not sure how I feel about changing ”Janis is a space dyke” to ”Janis is a pyro-les”. It doesn’t sound as good in the song lol. But, in the musical, Janis’ sexuality was more ”up to interpretation” and so got called that because when asked if she was a lesbian, she replied ”I AM A SPACE ALIEN AND I HAVE FOUR BUTTS”. An incredibly funny line and really had the early 2010s random humor going for it. But, when wanting to make her explicitly gay, they needed something better, and I understand that.

Now, many people see Regina as a closeted lesbian herself. I get it, since she has no chemistry with any boy and it seems like she just dates them for publicity. No boys except for Damian have personalities (did Shane even have a line?? He was just. There.) But, I am a bit insecure. Because at times it seems like she was one of those homophobic girls in middle school. I’m just gonna go from this movie alone, as I feel like in the Broadway show and in the 2004 movie that’s other kinds of discussion (the 2004 movie especially feels more like she actually was homophobic tbh). In the 2024 movie, Janis came out to Regina, and Regina put a rainbow pin on her stuffed animal as an ”ally”. Also Regina and Janis kissed. Regina did it to see how her boyfriend reacted, and it was at the expense of Janis. Regina then had her stuffed animal with a pride pin talk in a mocking voice and it was clear this was to make fun of Janis. Janis then got so mad over this that she set Regina’s backpack on fire (ok Ámbar Smith whatever works for you). From this story, I am a bit unsure if this came from a place of Regina maybe wanting to tease her boyfriend and then it got out of hand, or maybe she was curious about kissing Janis but she was like 12 and repressed those feelings. Because she supposedly wore a Pride pin as an ”ally”, that’s much more than what a homophobic would do - but, her bullying of Janis definitely contributed to homophobia. Regina is a mean girl, so we should not excuse her actions even though she is slaying. Closeted lesbian or not, she did some homopbic and harmful things.

Regina in this movie sometimes felt like she was just doing a bunch of things without care. In some ways, I think Regina is just living on some sort of cloud and there was all this anger inside of her and she didn’t know what, and it’s possible she just does not know how to handle all the popularity because she’s like 16. So she hides behind a lot of layers and just does stuff for the thrill of it, maybe trying to get some sort of enjoyment in life, but nothing is enough. And eventually she snaps and watches the world burn. Maybe this is why all the songs she has in the movie, including the ones that originally had more singers, only had her singing now. Showing that, even when she is around people, she is alone… (yes, the other girls sing in world burn but they don’t sing to her in the same way) and she has not found her real place in the world and she acts like she knows it all but she doesn’t really. And everyone keeps telling her how great her life is. If her life is so great, why does she feel so unsatisfied?

I do like how Janis and Damian are the narrators. It’s possible a lot of things that happened was their overexaggerated retellings of what actually happened. Maybe this is just them telling freshmen about tales everyone tells them as they start high school.

ohh i read and love so many aus it is so difficult to choose just one. some of my favourites include spies, ghost hunting, anything with magic, pacific rim (despite never having seen the movie lol), stories in which there Are alternate universes and characters get trapped in them. i could keep going but i'll stop there haha

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

I love writing things that draw from real life, partially because it adds ✨realism✨ and partially because it's fun to romanticise things that are happening in my life by turning them into fic in my head. (see: newsies band camp fic, newsies soulmates fic)

SO in that vein I would probably have an absolutely joyous time reading/writing a summer festival au, with tips to a bunch of the shenanigans I've gotten up to / been privy to over the past couple years. this may or may not include the romcom I dreamed up last year because our office (serious meetings) shared a wall with the city basketball team management (ping pong and beyonce). perhaps some bad roller coasters. camaraderie. breathless wonder. doesn't that sound alluring??? surpriiiise I am currently working on my supernatural detective agency au! it is called detective sagency in my files because I tried to make a joke about how they could use the same acronym. the cornley polytechnic detective 'sagency. it feels in character, like they would put it on their door like that. you know.

Trevor seems pleased to hear this. "That's what we do here," he says, and before Vanessa can interject with a slightly bewildered tell people which animal their initials look like? he adds, "Discover new things. You know." He waves a hand sort of willy-nilly. "Detectives."

I love how you are obligated to anyway despite knowing the answer. In lieu of prompt fics etc, I will mention one of my favourite things that could have been a prompt but isn't - it was suggested in a private chats and expanded upon to a point where it basically became a little chatfic. It's an au of Lookout 3 (really inception-ing the AUs haha) in which Paul is not dead, the Penguin lands in Bethsbridge to wait out a storm and the crew embroil themselves in a cultish murder mystery, and Paul and John get to do the spiderman pointing meme at each other. I will probably never write it, so if you ever want a full elaboration / the entire sparknotes plot, I will be happy to oblige :)

Calling for Assistance hardest part to write- I don't think I actually struggled with writing CfA, it just flowed naturally for me from the moment I came up with the prompt.

Chatfic hardest part to write- the ending as I had it written and was decently happy with it and then Google docs decided to delete 700 of my words so I had to rewrite it.

Calling for Assistance liked best - shocking enough this is one of the fics that I actually like, though what I like best is probably Grian and Xisuma's reunion when they figure out that the other is HC and Evo.

Chatfic liked best - definitely the four of them just messing around and causing chaos specifically during the crossover (yet to be posted but soon)

8 - What happens if one of them gets sick(/injured)?

so i think realistically because of the nature of their jobs, mostly when one of them is sick or injured they just have to suck it up and deal from a distance — lots of phone calls and texts, but it's not like they can just take off to go play nursemaid. it sucks, but it's how things are! i feel like matthew's the type to want concrete details like "what did the doctor say, what's the recovery timeline" to mitigate his anxiety, whereas leon's more of a "tell me how you're feeling and let me tell you that you'll be fine" type to make up for not being there physically. if they ARE in the same place, i think they are both the type to act like they're more fine than they are while the other hovers and fusses until the injured one is like "please stop, just come lay here with me while i watch gargabe television." however, HOWEVER, @bropunzeling and i have chatficced multiple versions of "matthew gets badly injured in the playoffs and leon, already eliminated, hops a plane to go to him without thinking, even though they have not exactly defined the relationship, and he does not realize until he gets there that matthew's entire family is in his house and SO confused and curious about why leon draisaitl has just shown up" which is DEEPLY indulgent but also deeply delicious to me.

Part 1:

"Alex, can you take Horsey to the vet? He's been throwing. He has an appointment in an hour and I can't take him. I have to get to class," Chloe says as she zips up her backpack.

"Sure," Alex says, looking up from his phone. It's not like he's doing anything anyway.

"Thanks," Chloe says and she pats Alex on top of the head as if she's not the younger sibling. "See you later." And she slips out the door.

Alex sits for a few more minutes and then starts the long process of putting Horsey in his cat carrier, involving many treats which Horsey throws up in the carrier half way to the vet.

Well, at least they'll have a sample if the need it.

They take Alex back not long after he gets to the vet and the vet tech weighs Horsey and takes temperature which he yowls about pitifully.

"Sorry buddy," Alex says, stroking between the cat's ears. "Necessary evil."

Horsey just meows pathetically and looks betrayed.

The door opens and a man walks through the door. "Hello. I'm Dr. Russell. I'll be taking care of Horsey today." He is looking at the cat the whole time he says it.

Alex looks up at him and his mouth goes dry. Dr. Russell is um, distressingly handsome. He manages to get out a stuttered, "I'm Alex."

"What seems to be the problem with Horsey?" George says, getting down on the cats level. He strokes Horsey's fur gently and Horsey hisses at him.

"My sister said he's been throwing up for a few days," Alex says, watching as Dr. Russell takes a step back and looks at him.

"How long has the problem been happening?"

"Umm. I don't know?" Alex says. Embarrassing. It's so embarrassing to have next to information when he's taking his cat to the vet to begin with and when the vet is this hot? Humiliating.

"Okay, well then. When is he throwing up? Is it after he eats? Is it watery?"

"I don't know. I just got home last night, you see and my sister didn't tell me anything."

"It's a little hard to help without knowing the problem," Dr. Russell says with a soft, awkward chuckle. "Do you want me to step out so you can call her?"

Alex just nods and once Dr. Russell is out of the room he calls Chloe.

"What?" She answers. "I'm in the middle of class!"

"You didn't tell me anything! And now I'm embarrassed in front of the hot new vet!"

Chloe sighs. "He's been throwing up for two days, mostly after he eats. It's mostly food. You should have asked me sooner, idiot."

"Why didn't you text me this information before I went! Now the vet thinks I'm an idiot."

Chloe just laughs at him and hangs up.

"Stupid sister," he mumbles and sticks his head back out into the hallway. "Dr. Russell?"

Dr. Russell comes back into the room and Alex explains the problem. Dr. Russell checks Horsey over and finally says, "I think it may be he just has a large hairball. I'm going to give him something to help break it up. If he doesn't stop by Sunday, give me a call and I'll come out. Let me give you my cell number."

With numbers exchanged, Alex heads back out and takes a very sad Horsey home.

29 - Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Cheating a little here and posting two just because they have hilariously different vibes that I think, collectively, really showcase some of my strengths as a writer -- I'm realizing with a lot of what I've posted this year and last year that one of the things that makes me stories distinct is a real blend of dark, heavy elements (often whumpy, always very hearfelt) and comedy

For the former category -- I still really love all the speeches from the resurrection scene at the end of Aurum Horizontale, but Keyleth's turned out especially poignant, I think, because it walked a very fine line calling attention to the irony of the whole AU concept without feeling too heavy-handed about it:

“Maybe I was just dumb,” she said. “Maybe I was… I was imagining things, when we talked. But I’ve never been very good with people, and ever since our first conversation it was so exciting, feeling like you and I just… clicked. Like we understood each other, even though we’re such totally different people. And I always thought… I always…” Giving a particularly loud, choked sob, Keyleth picked up one of Percy’s hands and held it for a moment, like a lifeline. It took a while for her to gather herself to continue. “I was probably just being stupid,” she said. “Like, how could I know? But sometimes, I found myself thinking that hey, in another universe or something, where I got to see you more than like, one night a week, and we could go get stupid levels of drunk together and I could hug you and where you weren’t stuck in a living nightmare, we could’ve been each other’s best friends. I think… I think I thought about that a little too much, honestly. About coming here, and freeing you, and getting to take you to my favorite shitty bars, or maybe even Zephrah someday. And maybe you don’t want that. Maybe that part was all in my head. But I guess… I guess I’m just not okay with living in a universe where I never get to find out, you know? It was always an “if,” and it’s still an “if,” but if I never find out for real… I’m going to live a long time, probably, and I don’t want to spend all that time wondering. I don’t want you to be gone.”

And as for the latter, comedic category all the chat sections of Several Witches Are Typing were a lot of fun to write -- I would never write a full chatfic, I think, but as an important element of a larger story where it thematically "fit" it was a very fun exercise in character voices to try to figure out how all the kids would text (Tragically, I failed to predict the wildly out-of left field nonsense that is Hunter's actual, canonical texting style, but I'm not even mad because it's funny and perfect)

z - just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

ah this is dangerous omg okay oh gosh okay what do i choose okay so this is a very random thing to rant about, but it's fan-related so. but i lowkey hate in chatfics how writers always give characters different contact names. more often than not, i look at them and say "they would never choose that name" / "they would never name that person that" / "they would throw a fit if their name got changed to that" and like. it's just so irritating. i honestly think most blorbos would just call each other by their names in their contacts like. and if you're going to give them "silly" names (bc most times they just... aren't even funny to me personally), they don't even specify who is who! most of the time, i see them say something MAYBE at either the beginning or end of the first chapter and then usually never again even if the characters start changing each other's names! so it's just hard to keep up. i actually love chatfics and think they're such a cool idea and a great creative writing exercise, but they HAVE to be done right because they can go poorly/ooc SO quickly. not all characters use correct grammar, but some do. some will use capitalization and punctuation while others don't. some characters will use emojis or send memes and recite memes, OTHERS WON'T and you NEED to be able to figure this stuff out. also it is SO unrealistic for all the characters to constantly trauma dump because half these characters refuse to "show weakness" or don't know How to talk to people about what's wrong. oH AND ALSO not all characters are so unhinged in chatfics my God the way people write certain characters in how they text and what they text is so icky because it's just too unhinged we gotta stop giving characters that treatment ugh uh anyways also kenji is underused in the show and underrated by fans. there should be more kenji content. also unpopular opinion, but kenji is a more interesting character than chuuya and how does chuuya have like... 20k more fics in the chuuya tag than kenji has in his own tag? nothing against chuuya - i like him! i do! but why is he treated more like a main character than kenji:( maybe i'm just sad bc kenji is my favorite and barely has ANY content. there are SO few kenji-centric fics out there and a lot of them also are kenji & chuuya friendship which... admittedly, i LOVE but i feel like there's more kenji & chuuya than kenji & the ada members which is so sad??? also he deserves better in the show! smh he wasn't even in the s5 trailer (neither were junichiro and naomi ugh so upset about that) like pls. let everyone treat kenji more like an important member of the team bC HE IS😭

astromania alstroemeria, bodyswap magenta, emotion names villain au, lman but there's god, magical safe haven, ROLESWAP AU, the boo in lman what will he do, villain assistant ranboo au and to throw a dart at something Unknowable, iiiiiiii. For Innit, who is patiently waiting for me to write its next post answer about how it enjoys snackies.

Astromania Alstroemeria - band au, featuring Tommy, Tubbo, and Purpled as the actual band, and Ranboo as their chaotic assistant! I even somehow gave Purpled a tragic backstory by dramatically misinterpreting a song that I was planning to use for him. Stars would be a huge recurring theme, which is why it’s called Astromania.

Bodyswap magenta - this idea was first formed when I was mildly sleep deprived. Basically, Tubbo, Ranboo, and Purpled have a sleepover at Tommy’s house. They find a book of rituals in Phil’s room, and since they’re unsupervised chaotic teens at a sleepover, they perform one that’s meant to swap their consciousness around. They don’t expect it to work, but it does. They begin Pranks.

Emotion names villain au - I’m gonna be honest, I mostly wrote this one because I like the Dream-Tommy-Ranboo trio and wanted them as villains. But basically, those three are villains, and the rest of SBI plus Sam and Tubbo are heroes sent after them. Dream has puppeteer strings that basically act like telekinesis, Ranboo can manipulate plants (including turning himself into a plant), and Tommy can manipulate gravity. I don’t have a plot for this, but I did write the reveal of Tommy’s powers because I had such a clear mental image of that scene.

Lman but there’s god - the title gives it away, pretty much. It’s L’Manberg, but Drista is a part of it from pretty much the start. And she’s the god of chaos, so you can imagine how well that goes for the people going to war against her. Hint: it goes very fucking terribly.

Magical safe haven: This started as a background part of a chatfic, then I went absolutely feral on the worldbuilding. I made a chart of what characters are founders and members of certain organizations, not to mention all the representatives in the central magical council which required funky things like Techno being the rep of Pogtopia and Bad being the rep of Manhunt. I literally ended up forgetting the plot and thus have not been able to continue.

Roleswap au - while it may seem like it, this actually is not the one inspired by your fics! That’s ddddd. This one has Tubbo swapped with Ranboo, Tommy swapped with Purpled, Wilbur swapped with Sally, and Dream swapped with Drista. The fic opens in Snowchester with Purpled and Ranboo hanging out, Ranboo’s on call with Tubbo (who’s out mining), they’re vibing. Then XD shows up and goes ‘i’m bored, this is your problem now’, and yeets Ranboo and Purpled into canon L’Manberg. Oh yeah, and here’s my favorite part of the roleswap world: since Sally is in Wilbur’s place, calling it L’Manberg doesn’t really make sense. So they call it L’Talberg instead, since they are tall bois.

the boo in lman what will he do - time travel! After Sam kills Ranboo, Kristin goes ‘alright, this is too far’, and yeets him into the past so that everyone gets a second chance. He is fully planning on not telling anyone about this… but then the past!Tommy accidentally reads his memory book. And he tells the other L’Manbergians. Good luck keeping secrets from the smol version of your best friends, boo.

Villain assistant ranboo au - ranboo has memory manipulation and teleportation powers. These are valuable to villains, so of course he ends up joining SBI in villainy. Phil is actually a bad guy in this one - he tries to get Ranboo to use his powers way too much. The others notice and promptly get him the hell out, then have an epic confrontation with Phil and get him thrown in Pandora’s Vault alongside Dream, who is his ally in tormenting Ranboo.

iiiiiiii - I’ll actually share a snippet of this one, since it doesn’t really have a plot beyond pure fluff. Tommy’s a catshifter, him and Tubbo are vibing. That’s it.

Tubbo awoke to soft sheets and a small warmth on his chest. He soaked in the sunlight streaming through the thin curtains, and gently shook the little cat awake. Tommy yawned and stretched. His thick blonde fur seemed to shine in the light, and even when he jumped to the floor and switched to his human form, his hair kept its glow.

“Morning, Tubs,” he grinned. “Whatcha gonna make for breakfast?”

“It’s fuck off o’clock, you’ll get a knuckle sandwich,” Tubbo grumbled, flicking him a middle finger to hide his smile.

“Nah, you love me too much. The worst you could do to me is, like, hide the sugar so I can’t have hyper-sugary pancakes.”

“No, the worst I could do is only make enough pancakes for me and leave you to figure out your own breakfast.”

A jokingly-offended gasp echoed through their house. “You wouldn’t!” Tommy exclaimed.

Tubbo turned to him with a deadpan look. “Oh, I totally would.”

They lasted an impressive ten seconds before collapsing in laughter.

So my most famous fanfiction is not dcla related (although I bet I made references in it, I always did even before I wrote dcla fics).

Anyway, no, it was this Glee chatfic that I did in 2020, titled "Glee, but it's another chatfic". I literally got crowned "Queen of chatfics" due to this fic when I posted it.

It's over 80 chapters and while that sounds like a LOT, every chapter is super short. One chapter is literally just this:

It was all really stupid shit like this every chapter but people ATE IT UP. I guess everyone was really bored in 2020.

Marley and Madison are dating, because one person I chatted with said it would be funny if they met. So I made them meet.

Faberry secretly dates until they don't

Mr. Schue gets some more kids (since he and Emma had like 5 kids in the finale) and I named them random stuff. However, I had apparently named two of them something that was the names of characters in a musical I had never seen. So everyone in the comments were like "ah so you like that musical" and I was like "NO I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT JUST A COINCIDENCE-"
