he says i hate everyone except you and that is addictive and that is kind of romantic and beautiful because you're young and you're kind of a sarcastic asshole too and you don't like bad boys, per say, but you don't really like good ones either. and you like that you were the exception, it felt like winning.
except life is not a romance book, and he was kind of being honest. he doesn't learn to be nice to your friends. he only tolerates your family. you have to beg him to come with you to birthday parties, he complains the whole time. you want to go on a date but - people are often there, wherever you're going. he's just so angry. about everything, is the thing. in the romance book, doesn't he eventually soften? can't you teach him, through your own sense of whimsy and comfort?
at first - you know introverts often need smaller friend groups, and honestly, you're fine staying at home too. you like the small, tidy life you occupy. you're not going to punish him for his personality type.
except: he really does hate everyone but you. which means he doesn't get along with his therapist. which means he has no one to talk to except for you. which means you take care of him constantly, since he otherwise has no one. which means you sometimes have to apologize for him. which means he keeps you home from seeing your friends because he hates them. you're the single exception.
about a decade from this experience, you'll type into google: how to know if a relationship is codependent.
he wraps an arm around you. i hate everyone except you. these days, you're learning what he's actually confessing is i have very little practice being kind.

BroZone Headcanons I've been thinking of for a while (Pt. 1/?)
John Dory:
Pansexual, he thinks all trolls are great 👍
Cried on the hatch day of every single one of his brothers. He was barely holding it together long enough for a picture after Branch hatched.
Before getting so caught up in the band being perfect, he let his brothers have their own style off-stage. They still had to look uniform during performances though.
Takes all the brothers (except Branch) to get their ears pierced for the first time.
Has the worst hand writing ever.
Bruce:
the only Heterosexual between the brothers.
Owns a ridiculous amount of Hawaiian shirts in multiple different patterns/colors.
Convinced John Dory to take him to get his ears pierced for the second time after Floyd hatched.
Him and Clay would steal Floyds diary and read it together on weekends while he wasn't home (Floyd doesn't know this).
used Branch as a weight while working out more than once.
Has a 12 step skin care routine.
Clay:
Asexual. him and Viva are Queer platonic.
Has known Viva for a long time, they went to school together
She gave him the star earrings, before he had studs like John Dory
Was on the shorter side before the band broke up, then went through an insane growth spurt.
Used to freak out when his brothers dog ear his books (as he should)
Would regularly hide John Dory's goggles and waits to see how long it takes to find them. his record is 2 days, 4 hours, and 28 minutes.
Floyd:
Bisexual but leans more towards masculine presenting trolls
Was Rosiepuff's favorite, knew it, and milked it to get what he wanted/win fights
was the one that dog ears Clays books
Hes the only one who can read John Dory's atrocious hand writing.
Used Bruce's eyeliner more than Bruce did.
Adores Branch. He was so excited to be a big brother after being the baby for so long.
Branch:
Demisexual
Hatched early (preemie) so he spent a lot of time being taken care of till he was strong enough not to worry anyone.
Everyone thinks his favorite brother is Floyd, and in a why they are right cause hes so close to Floyd, but his favorite is actually John Dory.
He reads trashy troll romance regularly. Clay has his sad books and Branch has his romance novels.
Got into Bruce's fancy eyeshadow once, ruined it, then blamed Clay.
Would climb into Floyds bed in the middle of the night and slept cuddled up close
Enjoyed watching Bruce put make up on. the routine was soothing and Bruce always looked beautiful when he was done.

Hey do you think ya can explain Barnaby and his illusion smoke a bit? It seems really cool and I don't remember if ya talked about it in depth before
sure! this got a bit longer than i expected!
so i was thinking that Barnaby seems like more of a hands-off kinda guy when it comes to altercations. would rather sit back and make funny commentary! so if he Had to get involved, i imagine it would be from a distance and still in an Entertaining Way!
thus - illusion magic! for this au i've been picturing that he got his paws on some illusionary herb in his early teens. for making people laugh, you know! and help out with the farm - illusions could distract animals, convince them to move on to different pastures, calm the chickens for egg-collecting, etc!
Ms. Beagle didn't really approve, since smoking is harmful, but lucky for the both of them this particular plant doesn't deal as much damage when smoked as normal smoking materials would - like tobacco! something to do with the magic properties! so Barnaby mostly used it for chores (when his mama wasn't paying attention, ofc - it's still a bad habit in her eyes) and entertainment purposes.
how it works: on its own, it doesn't do much when burned. it's not like illusions will waft out of the pipe's bowl, or that sniffing it will give someone hallucinations. in order for it to work properly, the user has to inhale properly, form the Intent of what the illusion should be / look like / behave, then purposefully blow the smoke out with that thought firmly in mind. the reach of the smoke depends on the force of Intent, and the intensity depends on the amount inhaled. those that breathe it in / are surrounded by it will see hallucinations of whatever Barnaby - or whoever the user is - wants them to! it can be literally anything! whether or not the target is fooled depends entirely on the individual, but the herb is potent enough that most are convinced that what they "see" is real (auditory hallucinations only occur if the target breathes in the smoke)
upsides: this form of magic is great for distractions, cover, deescalation, and that kind of thing. if needed, Barnaby could stop a fight with one exhale! it's a pretty powerful trick! it also means that Barnaby has built up a tolerance to illusion magic over the years, so where most of the party would be tricked, Barnaby would be unfazed. the only one with total immunity to the form of magic is Wally!
downsides: if Barnaby uses too much in too short of a time, it will get to him. and since he breathes in the largest amount - undiluted at that - it can fuck him up! using it sparingly / using repeated small amounts doesn't do anything. the most it will do is make him feel slightly untethered, but he has an easy time ignoring it / shaking it off.
in mild cases of the magic getting to him, it's like a bad trip. his proprioception is messed with (basically he gets uncharacteristically clumsy & off-balance), he feels like he's falling, anxiety spikes, and his vision is just... off! there are blind spots (im talking actual blind spots, not spots of black), things are moving in ways that they shouldn't, he has mild auditory hallucinations. the others can help ground him by talking to him, touching him, and confirming what's real and what isn't.
in bad cases, it's like that but 10 times worse. on top of all of the previous symptoms being worsened, he gets extremely vivid hallucinations, and they're very often not fun! it's a simultaneous feeling of dying, going insane, and not knowing what the fuck is going on. Barnaby loses sense of where he is, who's where, what's happening. he can get lost in the hallucinations - he has no way to know that they aren't real. in these terrible trips, no one can really help him. they can't get through the hallucinations, and if they do, the magic morphs Barnaby's perception of them and they end up adding to the effects. honestly the best thing for him is to let him rest somewhere with as little sensory input as possible & leave him be until he starts to come down. physical contact does help, since Barnaby understands on an instinctive level that illusions can't touch him, but it doesn't help half as much as it does w/ the mild trips. and again, the presence of someone can make the hallucinations worse.
so! suffice to say! he doesn't like using the herb all that often, and it's why he Stays Out Of It unless absolutely needed. he has two pouches of the herb - one with the strong stuff, reserved for emergencies / one with just a tiny bit of it mixed in with Barnaby's own personal blend for recreational/everyday use. (he also has an emergency tobacco stash in his pack, but that's only for when he's completely out of his usual blend <3)
extra lil scribble that didn't make it into the lil doodle post... i broke his wrist...

I thought I’d speak a little more about my father today as I feel ok enough to do so, and I’m ready to talk more now.
Simply put : my father has Parkinson’s disease. He’s had it since I was small — I haven’t known him without it honestly.
Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease that affects dopamine-producing neurons. It gets progressively worse with time until you eventually lose the ability to walk, talk, and perform most basic functions.
Parkinson’s patient brains also produce ‘Lewy bodies’ which are unusual clumps of protein alpha-synuclein. This leads to ‘Lewy Body Dementia’ which my father has as well.
I have always known this is how it would be. It has been a long time watching him get worse, and it accelerated quickly the past year.
I really can’t say how awful this disease is.
This is why he has in hospice as I mentioned before.
He’s never complained in all the years though. He’s suffered greatly, and still remained kind, gentle, uplifting and full of faith in God. Always grateful even on his most painful days.
(This is how he has always been. I’m so proud he’s my father — I hope I’m even half the person he is someday)
I had a difficult discussion with his nurses recently. It’s been hard to process. I think my mother is struggling, and doing poorly with the news so I will speak little on it. (It was hard to write this as well) but I wanted to be up front about things.
Because there are some truly kind people here, and I would not wish anyone to feel hurt or worry by my quietness ♡
If you’ve prayed, wished me or my father well, or shared kindness I appreciate it sincerely, give a warm hug, and thank the Lord for it!
You are not being ignored — I have just been distracting myself here or often do not have the energy or mind to speak. I hope you understand ♡
Thank you again for all the warmth and caring I’ve received; even if I don’t say anything please know it still lifts my spirits and means much to me! Wishing love and comfort to you today ~ please take care, sweet friends ♡

i had a dream about Klaus and Five fighting then five brought up Klaus being a junkie and thennnnn
Klaus brought up how Five is the reason every bad thing has happened to him. five LITERALLY did it to himself.
nobody pushed him out the door to go attempt to jump into the future infact everyone tried to stop him because they called after him.
five literally made his life the way it is because he's a stubborn bitch who thought he knew better
i woke up @ 4am after this dream and haven't slept since
also he called Klaus a junkie who has no idea what it's like being alone but Klaus literally was on the streets for like 12 years so he probably understands better than anyone
cause five and Klaus both probably had no food and had to eat out of dumpsters and do things they absolutely didn't want to do in order to survive
dream verse has it out for me honestly
